This is finally done, Medieval Windenburg is finished and ready to replace your world.

I clearly underestimated the time it would take to achieve such a big work, but I'm super glad to share it with you now.

MEDIEVAL WINDENBURG

This video is a world tour so that you can see all the world's areas with no exception, that's why it's a bit long haha.

What does this mod do ?

Retextures most of the world items (terrains, objects, walls etc)
Removes ALL the modern stuff
Replaces some models with better ones
Replaces Windenburg's Map

Here is the preview of it :

Medieval Windenburg is not a save file, and it's not lots neither, it really reworks the world items we can't edit in the game when we play it (I mean unlike lots).

Here's a list of questions and answers that will provide all the necessary informations about this mod (I think lol) :

Q : Will it make my game lag ?

A: Not it won't. For 99% I used the same image sizes that the original ones. Only a few exceptions, but they are so small that it won't impact your game (I mean if you have a pc that can run TS4 properly, if it struggles already with the base game then it will be the same here.)

Q : Will my game look exactly the same as in your video ?

A : It may, and it may not. Lemme explain : In addition of my mod I use @k-hippie retextures of trees and some plants but not all beacause some will conflict with mine.

Also I use @alf-si-cc retextures of windenburg (trees, water retexture)

And that's all I think. Of course you can use the Medieval Windenburg without these other mods ;)

Q : Do I need other addons ?

A : No, you only need Get together. Then, if you have Seasons, I retextured the stand and the bucket from it that appear in Windenburg.

Q : What reshade preset did you use in the video and the pictures ?

A : I'm in love with @intramoon 's "Patchouli Rose" that's the one I almost always use. Also I really like "Hellfire" also from her.

Q: Is it compatible with Timeless Mod ?

A : No it's not. With Medieval Windenburg you can't use Timeless as teh same time as I also remove modern things but the conflicting point is when Timless removes objects that I retextures or replaced in my mod. If you have the two at the same times you'll have some modern houses and other stuff showing up while they won't if you only use my mod.

Q : Can I use these world Items on my lots ?

A : Yes you can. You just need to activate the cheats "bb.showhiddenobjects" and "bb.showliveeditobjects" to have all the items showing up. After that you can either search "**debug**" and check Base game + Get together or search "thesensemedieval" / "Windenburg". However, I didn't rename all the items so there are some you might not find typing these two words. (I'll probably update this later"

Q: Are you going to medievalize other worlds ?

A : Sure ! I ccreated a survey some a few days ago, you can vote for the world you want me to medievalize next : HERE

Q : Is it normal that the DJ booth is still here ?

A : Yes, because it only appears when it’s festival or something like that I think, as I didn’t have this event to show up yet in my game I didn’t remove it as I didn’t even know it could appear like that while no one asked for it haha, but don"t worry it will disappear when the event is finished (I think) If it’s remaining then yes I will make a package to remove it)

Q : Is it normal that the Llama bush is still here ?

A: No. I don’t know why, before I merge all the packages the llama was replace as I wanted by a statue from tw3, the one we see in the video, but one I merge all the files it stangely disappered to show the llama bush… When I’ll make an update of the mod (not that soon but I will do one I think) I will solve it don’t worry ^^

Q : The world is grey themed and not brown like in your video and pics, why ?

A : It will happen only if you are using K-hippie’s retexture of windenburg at the same time (I talk about it a bit later in this post, just have to scroll down)

Soooo here are the direct links of the additional retextures I use :

Insted of phatasmagoriasims’ one you can use her shrub retexture if you want : Here
I retextured the lavanda shrubs but if you want she also did : Lavanda
No flowers mod (the flowers prited on the terrain not the 3d ones)

In fact in my game it doesn’t conflict, but it seems to change from one game to another so let me know if his plants overrride mine (the roses).

You can also use his terrain retextures if mine don’t suit you.

Do not use his retexture of get together at the same time as Medieval Windenburg or his grey themed walls will override my brown themed ones in the world.

Here are the files you should remove then :

THE UPDATE (01/18/22)

What's new in this update ?

This is a medieval mod, so every piece that had nothing to deal with medieval era (aesthetic, too modern etc) was basically removed. But, since some of you plan to use it to another purpose, I organized the mod so that you can pick up what you want and remove easily what you don't want.

You will have two options now :

if the previous version is good to you, you can simply put this new merged package into your mods folder.
If you don't want everything from this mod, you can choose what you want to put in your game.

In this case there are 4 folders :

Optional removals (easel, piano, matte etc)
Replacements

And the map override seperated as some didn't want it.

If you don't want the optional removals for instance, simply delete it. If you want some of the optional removal, open it and choose the packages you want to keep, all of them have been renamed clearly.

Fot this update, I also changed some things , I found out I forgot to retexture the stones from the rural area for example.

The Llama Statue is now properly replaced, I really can't understand why it didn't work in the previous version.

I put back the benches from merchant area, rural and Dutchess' garden. The reason why I removed them in previous version was because of a horrid texture glitch I could not find a way to get rid of, but I finally succeeded so here they are :

I fixed some issues like weird black things on some grass grounds, the season stand changing texture in winter, the black line on the road in rural area, see the changes below :

Now that everything is renamed properly in packages and in s4s, you will be abale to find each piece of the mod (debug objects etc) for build/buy mode by activating cheats bb.showhiddenobjects and bb.showliveeditobjects then searching " thesensemedieval " to find them all.

Medieval Windenburg UPDATE 01/18/22

How to install .

Well that's simple (the instructions are within the zip archive but I repeat here just in case)

Extract the zip file
Choose between merged and unmerged. If merged, simply put the package into your mods folder. If unmerged, then choose the folders or packages you want, put them in your mods folder, you can put them in a subfolder if you want to.
Ignore the desktop.ini file
Make a backup save of your EP02 world files, you'll find them in Origin games/ the sims 4/ Delta/ World/ Area
Once you've saved the original files somewhere even safer, put the world files of my mod into the location I said above.
Launch the game
AND THAT'S ALL FOLKS !

What's new ?

I fixed the map issue, now it shows up again
The cypress trunk texture from rural area have been fixed too
The texture issues with the roofs (chalet garden) have also been fixed)

Unfortunately the merged version leads to some texture issues so I won't recommend using it, now I will provide only the seperated folders version.

Windenburg is a world introduced in The Sims 4: Get Together . It is the largest world ever released in The Sims 4. It's comprised of a countryside area in the mainland, an older styled quaint village, a modern shore side and an island. Castle-like ruins can be found on the mainland and most of The Crumbling Isle is surrounded by crumbling man-made walls. These ruins are inspired by Gothic buildings in Europe (primarily Germany and Denmark) and they indicate the old age of the city.

At 26 housed residents when beginning a save file there, it is the most populated world in The Sims 4 .

With Seasons installed, Windenburg experiences cool falls and springs, with sunny or cloudy skies and occasional rain. Summer temperatures range from warm to heat waves with possible thunderstorms. Winters are characterized by a lot of snowfall and cold or freezing temperatures. Dangerous blizzards can occur in the winter.

Windenburg has the most number of lots for a world in The Sims 4 , with 27. It is also the world with the most neighborhoods in The Sims 4 , with 7.
Windenburg seems to be based on central and southern regions of Germany . There are many houses in the traditional Fachwerkhaus style ( timber-framed houses).
There is an unreleased neighborhood from The Sims 4 base game which is very similar to Windenburg.
It could also come from "Hindenburg".
Most of the residents have German and Scandinavian names, e.g. Bjorn and Elsa Bjergsen , Maaike Haas , Ulrike Faust , Gunther , and Wolfgang Munch . Surprisingly many others have Hispanic names, considering the town's theme.
According to the description of the wind chimes object from The Sims 4: Backyard Stuff , Windenburg has a sister city called Windemere.
Old Country is mentioned in Windenburg, which might suggest the town is part of the Old Country.
Windenburg is the only world in The Sims 4 to include a public pool.
Although they're both owned at the start of the game, Windenburg is the only world so far to have more than one 64x64 lot, with two of them.

A Tour Through Windenburg in The Sims 4: Get Together

Today’s reveal marked an introduction of the various sights and sounds your Sims can explore in the European inspired world of Windenburg. In our last post, we were only given a glimpse at one of the venues in the Business District, but today we were excited to see other areas too, like the public pool and café!

The Café offers Sims a chance to dine on freshly brewed espresso and decadent croissants. A barista will be inside ready to take an order!

Next up is our first official Public Pool! Known as the “Bath du Rill,” this venue will allow Sims to sit underneath the shade of a beach umbrella, or take a splash into the pristine waters using the “Diving Platform.”

Off into the countryside is the pub where Sims can hang out playing darts, foosball, and even Jenga!

Way off into the distance is the “Bluffs” a mountainous island with decaying ruins. Here Sims will be able to swim in the Natural Pool!

Last but not least is the Von Haunt estate, a luxurious manor haunted by ghosts! Here your Sims can explore an exquisite garden maze.

The party doesn’t stop there, however. Head downtown to the club for a dancing extravaganza, or over to the ruins for some after hours fun with a portable bar and enticing bushes.

Let’s explore all the beautiful sightings and entertaining venues Windenburg has to offer with this new blog post appeared on the Sims 4 Blog .

The Sims 4 Get Together Expansion Pack is coming out next month, and it’s all about new ways to get together and go out with groups of Sims. So naturally, they need all sorts of fantastic new locations to go out to! That’s why we built the new World of Windenburg, a visually-striking European-inspired location that looks like nothing you’ve ever seen before in The Sims 4 . Windenburg is jam-packed with things to do and places to see, including three Special Venues, two new Venue types, and some changes to Nightclubs and Bars. Here’s a look at the places your Sims will be able to explore in December. The Von Haunt Estate. Windenburg’s prized Von Haunt Estate is a historic and enchanted garden property that’s been up kept as a famous museum and tourist attraction. Its most notable landmark is the enormous and perfectly pruned hedge maze where Sims can get lost for hours. Oh, and don’t be surprised if you run into the former Lord and Lady who used to inhabit the location before its new owners took over – even after 100 years of being deceased, they’re still around to entertain and terrify their guests. The Bluffs. This secluded island is a picturesque and forgotten location that’s perfect for a group of Sims to get away to with no interruption. Facing the gorgeous Windenburg lake view is the bonfire where your Sims can cozy up or compare their best fire dance moves. There’s also a natural pool for swimming (or skinny dipping), and if you’re really patient, you just might catch a glimpse of Windenburg’s elusive sea monster. The Ancient Ruins. This is by far the best spot for a private Dance Party. By day, it’s a serene and preserved area for the locals to take in, appreciate, and explore. But at night, the huge ruins walls are the perfect backdrop for DIY stage lights, fog, and laser beams that emit from the DJ booth. It’s got a small buildable lot by the party area in case you want to supplement your gathering with any other helpful or fun objects. The Café Venue. Latte, anyone? At the new Café Venue, your group can order their drinks for here or to go. The new Barista NPC and Espresso Machine are at your service to serve up your favorite frothy beverage and flaky pastry. You can order a pre-work shot that puts you in the perfect emotion to go to work in. Community Pool Venue. Cannonball!!! While the new Pool Venue type itself will be available for everyone when The Sims 4 Get Together releases, it really shines best with the fun new objects we made specific to this pack. We added a slew of cool new community and natural pool decorations, like pool lanes, new pool trims, and a handful of different pool water colors so you can jazz it up. The most exciting new pool object specific to The Sims 4 Get Together is the Jumping Platform: this object gives your Sims the elevation they need to impress their friends with a flawless backflip or endure a humiliating belly flop. Nightclub and Bar Changes. To make Windenburg feel really unique, we made some changes to two of the pre-existing Venue types: Nightclubs and Bars. Now, you can visit European-inspired Discotheques and quaint Pubs. We’ve added a number of fun pub games like Darts, Foosball, and Don’t Wake the Llama to bolster the community vibe and keep your Sims hooting it up. There are even special themed nights almost every day of the week, so your Sim and their friends might find themselves in the midst of Ladies’ Night (or Knight Night). Even more exciting than the things we put into the new World are the things you will build in it, something we think will be made even cooler thanks to the inclusion of two massive 64×64 lots in Windenburg. These are the biggest lots we’ve had in The Sims 4 to date, and we can’t wait to see what you do with them – and the rest of the World – when The Sims 4 Get Together comes out this December.

The Sims 4: Windenburg Overview

Windenburg is one of the most beautiful worlds in The Sims 4 and was added to the game with The Sims 4: Get Together. This world is inspired by the south of Germany and has other beautiful European accents.

Windenburg was the very first new world to be introduced into the game through an expansion pack with Get Together. It’s also one of the biggest worlds that is in the game, with the large number of lots available for gameplay.

Windenburg Neighbourhoods

There are 4 neighbourhoods inside Windenburg and each has their own style and quirks. Let’s go into some of the features of each neighbourhood in detail.

The island is the most self explanatory of the windenburg neighbourhoods, as it is, an island. There are 6 lots on the island, including the bluffs which is a weird lot that has a pool and a ton of greenery.

There is one empty lot on The Island, called Mid-Nowhere and it is a 20×20 lot available for purchase. There is also an empty house called Pier Palace that is a beautiful modern home.

There are a few families who live in this neighbourhood as well. You’ll find the Bjergsen family living at The Lighthouse, the Villareal family living at Von Windenburg Estate, and the Bro family living at Dock Den.

Countryside

The countryside is located in the top left hand corner of the world and is surrounded by wind mills and trees. There is also a beautiful river that flows through the area into the ocean. There is also the Von Haunt Estate that is located at the top of the neighbourhood that can be visited.

In countryside, you’ll find one empty lot which is called The Summer Home, as well as one empty house that be a great starter home called Rustic Residence.

There are a few families who live in the countryside neighborhood. You will find the Munch family in the Coorinberg Cottage, the Fryes family in the Dresden House, and finally, the Free Spirits family in the Cottage Am See home.

Old Town District

The Old Town District of Windenburg has the Ancient Ruins located at the top of the neighbourhood. This is a common place for sims to be invited to go to parties and hangout with their friends. There is an entrance to the Ruins located next to the Proprietor’s Square.

There are a number of community lots inside the Old Town District as well. This includes the Quar Manor which is a beautiful library, the Narwhal Arms nightclub, a coffee shop called South Square Coffee and finally, the Old Quarter Inn Bar.

There are two lots that your sims can move into located inside the Old Town District. The first is the Havisham House and the second is Proprietor’s Square. There are no empty lots in this area.

There are only two families that live inside the Old Town District of Windenburg, first is the Partihaus family living in Factory One, and the Behr family living at Waterlock Redoubt.

Modern District

The modern district of Windenburg doesn’t include any residential lots but is a great area for just community lots and includes a lot of benches for your sims to sit and chat. It is surrounded by water so it makes for some beautiful scenery.

There are 5 community lots in the Modern District, including, the Discotheque Pan Europa Nightclub, the Habor Quarter Gym, the Hare and Hedgehog Cafe, the Hare Square Park, and finally, Bathe de Rill which is a community pool.

There are 13 community lots in Windenburg for your sims to explore, each is very fun, and cool, and awesome! While writing this I’m in a very weird and adjective filled mood.

Windenburg is one of the most beautiful worlds in The Sims 4, and we can thank the sims team for that. I really hope that the rest of the sims expansion packs will have worlds that are this in depth and detailed.

TheSenseMedieval - Medieval Windenburg Mod - Update 01/18/22

This is finally done, Medieval Windenburg is finished and ready to replace your world.

I clearly underestimated the time it would take to achieve such a big work, but I'm super glad to share it with you now.

MEDIEVAL WINDENBURG

This video is a world tour so that you can see all the world's areas with no exception, that's why it's a bit long haha.

What does this mod do ?

Retextures most of the world items (terrains, objects, walls etc)
Removes ALL the modern stuff
Replaces some models with better ones
Replaces Windenburg's Map

Here is the preview of it :

Medieval Windenburg is not a save file, and it's not lots neither, it really reworks the world items we can't edit in the game when we play it (I mean unlike lots).

Here's a list of questions and answers that will provide all the necessary informations about this mod (I think lol) :

Q : Will it make my game lag ?

Q : Will my game look exactly the same as in your video ?

A : It may, and it may not. Lemme explain : In addition of my mod I use @k-hippie retextures of trees and some plants but not all beacause some will conflict with mine.

Also I use @alf-si-cc retextures of windenburg (trees, water retexture)

@phantasmagoriasims-blog shrubs

And that's all I think. Of course you can use the Medieval Windenburg without these other mods ;)

Q : Do I need other addons ?

A : No, you only need Get together. Then, if you have Seasons, I retextured the stand and the bucket from it that appear in Windenburg.

Q : What reshade preset did you use in the video and the pictures ?

A : I'm in love with @intramoon 's "Patchouli Rose" that's the one I almost always use. Also I really like "Hellfire" also from her.

Q: Is it compatible with Timeless Mod ?

Q : Can I use these world Items on my lots ?

Q: Are you going to medievalize other worlds ?

A : Sure ! I ccreated a survey some a few days ago, you can vote for the world you want me to medievalize next : HERE

Q : Is it normal that the DJ booth is still here ?

Q : Is it normal that the Llama bush is still here ?

Q : The world is grey themed and not brown like in your video and pics, why ?

A : It will happen only if you are using K-hippie’s retexture of windenburg at the same time (I talk about it a bit later in this post, just have to scroll down)

Soooo here are the direct links of the additional retextures I use :

Insted of phatasmagoriasims’ one you can use her shrub retexture if you want : Here
I retextured the lavanda shrubs but if you want she also did : Lavanda

In fact in my game it doesn’t conflict, but it seems to change from one game to another so let me know if his plants overrride mine (the roses).

You can also use his terrain retextures if mine don’t suit you.

Do not use his retexture of get together at the same time as Medieval Windenburg or his grey themed walls will override my brown themed ones in the world.

Here are the files you should remove then :

If you keep them, the walls, the urban terrains and some rocks from this file will override mine.

THE UPDATE (01/18/22)

What's new in this update ?

You will have two options now :

if the previous version is good to you, you can simply put this new merged package into your mods folder.
If you don't want everything from this mod, you can choose what you want to put in your game.

In this case there are 4 folders :

Optional removals (easel, piano, matte etc)
Replacements

And the map override seperated as some didn't want it.

Fot this update, I also changed some things , I found out I forgot to retexture the stones from the rural area for example.

The Llama Statue is now properly replaced, I really can't understand why it didn't work in the previous version.

I fixed some issues like weird black things on some grass grounds, the season stand changing texture in winter, the black line on the road in rural area, see the changes below :

Medieval Windenburg UPDATE 01/18/22

How to install .

Well that's simple (the instructions are within the zip archive but I repeat here just in case )

Extract the zip file
Choose between merged and unmerged. If merged, simply put the package into your mods folder. If unmerged, then choose the folders or packages you want, put them in your mods folder, you can put them in a subfolder if you want to.
Ignore the desktop.ini file
Make a backup save of your EP02 world files, you'll find them in Origin games/ the sims 4/ Delta/ World/ Area
Once you've saved the original files somewhere even safer, put the world files of my mod into the location I said above.
Launch the game
AND THAT'S ALL FOLKS !

Mid-Century Tudor Modern The Sims 4 Get Together Expansion Pack* introduces Windenburg, a European-inspired world complete with ancient ruins, Cafés, and discotheques that look nothing like what you’ve seen in The Sims 4. We knew really early on in the development of the expansion that we wanted to go with something more Euro, but it took a lot of experimentation to get from those early discussions to the version that’ll ship with the game in December. Europe is a huge continent with countless architectural styles and sub-cultures, so we realized we needed to create something unique, but still authentic. We want Windenburg to feel like it could be found in many different parts of Europe while still feeling like its own, distinct location. We gathered some concept art that shows how we ended up where we are, from first sketches to fairly complete images. Not everything in the concept art is going to end up in the final game, but we want to show you the whole process. This mixture of old and new feels distinctly European, and we wanted to make sure we captured it in Windenburg. To embrace this mix of styles we needed to bend the classic rules of architecture and find a way to merge those disparate pieces. Our artists began to experiment with different styles of residential architecture, playing with different motifs to see how they could work together. In the end, we went with something that was sort of a Tudor Modern – a mix of contemporary construction and the kind of buildings built during the 16 th century in England. There’s a lookout spot on the Pier in the Business District where you can see indications of every distinct neighborhood, from the Countryside with rolling pine-covered hills and electric windmills in the distance, the Old Town with quaint Tudor buildings and repurposed fishing canneries, and the high-end residential Island that sits in the middle of the Windenburg Lake. On one side of the island, sandy flat areas with fishing docks. On the other, a mansion overlooking the sea (and if you’re lucky, you might catch a view of Windenburg’s elusive sea monster). Once we’d finished sketching maps and architecture, we started to create some visual snapshots to really show off the districts. There’s one here (and one in the opening of the blog) that serve both as explorations as to how these places could look with Sims living in them, and also provide a visual target to the team responsible for building them in game. We’re really happy with how closely we were able to recreate these in game and even more excited about the different elements we were able to build out as development went on – even that statue made it! The Sims 4 worlds

Design: Windenburg’s architectural design—dominated by the traditional Fachwerkhaus style (timber-framed houses)—and its structural design, in combination with modern city aspects, is heavily based on central and southern regions of Germany. Many simmers consider the world to be inspired by Bavaria, Germany, as well as a bit of Scandinavia and the United Kingdom.

Story: Take ye olde deep breath and enjoy the mountain air. This green, expansive playground has got it all; lush countryside, serene and rocky cliffs, a quaint village with remnants of the old world all nestled around the modern shore side business center.

Neighborhoods & lots

Windenburg consists of 4 neighborhoods and three special lots.
