This great bicycle tour will allow you to explore the streets and paths of Old and New Jerusalem, quietly soaking up the atmosphere, while you see places not accessible by bus/car or too far to go by foot.

We will begin our ride with a ride through historic parts of the city, outside the city walls, with several stops to hear the stories that bring these places alive. We will then continue into walls of the Old City, and take advantage of the empty streets at night to bike through this magical place. This unique ride will take you through streets thousands of years old including the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the Christian Quarter, the Jewish Quarter and Mt. Zion as well as newer parts of the city - all by bike! 

Your guide will also be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. This tour is also perfect as an overview of the whole of Jerusalem, so that you can spend the next few days going to the specific sights you have seen along the way. 

This tour is suitable for anyone that feels safe riding a bike, and requires basic cycling ability. Please note that the tour starts at 21:30

• Description

Touring Jerusalem usually involves a lot of walking and public transportation. Most people don’t think of bringing bikes into Jerusalem as it’s a very crowded, hilly city with narrow winding roads. But that’s during the day. A once in a lifetime experience and an amazing way to tour Jerusalem is by doing a midnight bike ride. Keep in mind that Jerusalem is very hilly. So this bike ride is not for beginners. But if you can ride on an intermediate level and above you will find this experience magical, informative - and a lot of fun. You can do a 2 or 3 hour circular ride, so you park your car, hop on the bike and then you will end the tour back at the parking lot. The tour will take you on a circuit of Jerusalem starting at the Old City and winding through different sections of Jerusalem. Each tour accommodates from 8 - 22 riders, but private bookings are available as well.

Imagine this: It’s still dark out. You’re putting on your sneakers, picking up your water bottle, wondering, “WHY  DID I GET UP SO EARLY?!?”

And an hour before the sun breaks over the hills, you meet your guide, you check your bike, and you’re off riding…

Jerusalem is still asleep, seems barely after midnight as you ride down the train tracks and into the first of the Old City’s gates. Exploring alleyways that a bicycle could never ride on during the usual hustle and bustle of one of the world’s holiest sites. Take a short break and watch the sunrise – this is why we got up so early.

By the time we return, we will have experienced the city by bike, previewed each of its gates, watched the city coming to life, and all this before most people have eaten breakfast.
