Globelink International Travel Insurance are the most competitive and safe travel insurance company to deal with. Their web site is easy to navigate and is supported by a helpful on line system. We have used them for travel in the USA, Caribbean, Greek Islands and the Mediterranean and every time their cost is better than other companies. It is over twelve weeks since I…

It is over twelve weeks since I submitted our claim. ( a missed connection owing to our flight arriving late in Dubai). In support of our claim we have submitted 27 emails with over 30 plus pieces of evidence...copies of tickets, itinerary, letters from the airline apologising for the inconvenience etc. In addition, we have telephoned their office on several occasions. Each time it was the same mantra "we have a lot of claims to process and yours will be dealt with in due course" On each occasion when documentation was provided this company in response have asked for more documents/clarification. Globelink Travel Insurance tardiness and obfuscation should be an embarrassment to them. We will not be seeking to utilise their service again.

Ambiguous wording means practically nothing covered

We have been travelling for over 40 years and have never made a claim. This year whilst on holiday my husband lost a 30 year old wedding ring. We put in a claim, not for money but for a like for like replacement for sentimental reasons. This was refused because we were told we should have taken precautions against any losses. I don't even understand what that means and this ambiguous statement covers practically everything on the policy so BUYERS BEWARE insuring with this company is a complete waste of time as so much is hidden on small print and not covered. Avoid at all costs we will never insure with them again. Their response below says the ring was unattended, it was on my husbands finger so how on earth can that be "unattended" I think the response just about sums up credibility.

We are so sorry that you feel so negatively about our insurance. Although Globelink has no direct authority on claims we have made investigations with the insurer claims agent as we always try to help our customers, we understand the wedding ring was lost whilst unattended and we do regret that with items deemed valuables, there is a requirement to exercise due care and attention, this is common to most travel insurance policies. Nearly all travel insurance policies insure property based on its value at the time of loss, not on a new-for-old or like-for-like basis as can be purchased for household insurance or other insurances that are specifically for declared items. Please note that our policy wordings meet the high standards of customer fairness and accessibility expected by our regulator the Financial Conduct Authority, and our website provides all details of the policy including the wording and IPID and our team is always there to answer queries. If you feel you have been unfairly treated, you have the right to have your claim reviewed not only by the insurer but by the Insurance Ombudsman who is in place to defend consumer rights and whose free service is detailed in the policy under the complaints procedure.

Returning customer

Returning customer - nowhere in the process could I enter "1FREE". Payment CAPTCHA just required a tick, repeated twice as red wording said CAPTCHA "not completed" !!! then nothing happened, too slow. Offer of discounted day2 test offered to uk residents only, despite confirmation link from non uk transaction! Wallet certificate no longer right shape or small enough to laminate as credit card size. End of gripe.

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Claim has been put in three months ago and no refund for stolen luggage. I have emailed and just a generic email "please be advised that your claim is under process under a priority list" I think the claims might be a scam. I have emailed global link who revert me to HWA who aren't processing the claim and have all supplied receipts and documents. Do yourself a favour and use a different insurance company.

I was going to buy an insurance from these people, but I first read the reviews of their claims handler Collinson Group on Trustpilot. They are dire, especially recently (late 2023): 47 of the 50 most recent reviews are all one star. So I would look too if I was you before purchasing. Update. I have now seen their reply. They say they have changed supplier. As far as I can tell this is not the first time they have changed supplier. Surely they should have changed sooner? So for myself I will wait to see positive reviews from individuals making claims through the new provider. Until then this remain an excellent front end, but which links to a dreadful claims process if something actually goes wrong and you need to make a claim

I have just booked a worldwide one trip comprehensive insurance for the over 80s to attend a family reunion in the USA. The webside was user-friendly and efficient, with all details easy to understand. Mixed review but happy in the end

I have given this product 3 stars with mixed feelings. It took 3 months with no communications before the small claim was settled. However, when I brought my concerns higher up the chain, my claim was immediately prioritized and followed up on to be sure I was happy.

Fast and efficient

Fast and efficient. We bought two travels insurance policy but for some reasons, these policies were issued/insured under the same name. The customer service solved our problem and everything was taken care within 1 hour! Impressive and truly recommended to use their service.

Dreadful people

Dreadful people - missed ferry, hotel etc etc due to car problems all of which were non refundable - spent weeks re-sending documents to them and then more weeks asking what was going on - finally a response - of course nothing covered - will definitely not renew with them again - a very stressful waste of my precious time.

What is an Annual Travel Insurance Policy?

An Annual policy is designed for Individuals (from € ), Couples or Families (from € per Family) who take more than one trip within a 12 months period. Take as many trips as you wish and be covered all year long. We recommend that you select an immediate start date as this will ensure that you are covered for the cancellation of any pre-booked holiday.

Can I get Annual Holiday Insurance Now?

You can with Globelink! It's essential to make an informed choice about where you travel based on your Government advice and that of your destination. Its also essential to stay protected with annual travel insurance if you have any booked trips. Buying year-long will cover you for certain Cancellation risks even before you travel - like injury or illness (including catching Covid within 14 days of travel, or while you're away), accidents, death, jury service, redundancy. We recommend that you select an immediate start date if you have pre-booked trips to protect.

Top Tip: The current travel situation means there's a higher risk of your trip dates changing - with annual policy you don't have to amend your travel insurance if your dates change - as long as you're still travelling within the policy cover period and your geographical area hasnt changed; and your trip length is within your chosen policy maximum duration.

Can I buy now with a future Start Date?

Unlike most other Travel Insurance providers, you can buy a Globelink Annual Multi Trip Travel insurance policy up 4 MONTHS in advance! Most other major companies only allow you to buy up to one or two months ahead at most.

What's the benefit? You lock in todays price and avoid future price increases or changes in terms and conditions.

Top Tip: Buy now and set your Start date up to 4 months in advance when you are likely to be travelling more (as long as you don't have any booked trips to protect as you wont get the benefit of Cancellation Cover until your policy starts).

Can I get Coronavirus Cover?

ALL Globelink Annual Insurance Plans include Emergency Medical, Repatriation and Cancellation & Curtailment cover if you contract Coronavirus within 14 days of travel or while you are away - provided your Government legally permits you to travel and does not advise against travel due to Coronavirus.

Should you travel to a country that your Government advises against travel due to Covid-19 - you can still buy insurance and your cover remains valid for all insured events that are NOT Covid related. So if you need to cancel or curtail your trip, or have a medical emergency that is not related to Coronavirus - you have the peace of mind that cover is in place to protect you. You cant claim for costs associated with Coronavirus where your Government advises against travel to your destination (unless you have an exception, or legally permitted reason to travel).

Top Tip: Always check your Government advice and those of the location you plan to visit before booking and travelling. There will probably be additional Covid related steps to complete before you are permitted to travel.

Please note, Claims related to a Positive Covid-19 test result can only be considered when certified by an independent authority. Examples of this are: a private Covid testing provider’s official certificate, or the medical report of a Doctor’s administered Covid-19 test result. The written confirmation must include the name of the person for whom the test relates to, the date of the test and the test result. The insurer will not accept photographs of a Lateral Flow test taken at home unless it has been independently verified.

Can I change my Travel Insurance Policy after I purchase?

* If you change your mind about your purchase, you can cancel your policy and receive a full refund within 14 days of your purchase date.

* If you decide to travel to a different Geographical Area from the one you purchased; or fancy a couple of longer trips than your maximum trip duration -  just contact us as soon as you know and we will provide a quote so you can upgrade your policy immediately.

* If you need to add a child to your policy, or have an address change; country change or name change - get in touch and we will arrange an amended Certificate for you straight away.

Government Advice

Travel advice can change with little notice, so it's important to keep aware of current information. For EU residents you will need to check your local Government advice. For UK residents it's the FCDO advice - check here for full details . The FCDO have announced a new traffic light system for categorising international travel risks and the rules for exiting and entering the country. Other EU countries have similar systems and rules. Before you travel, check your Government advice and that of the location you are travelling to and follow the rules.

The cheapest annual holiday insurance policy is € (based on 1 adult aged up to 50 travelling in Europe for up to 17 days per trip).
