Transliteration : Ayibun, ta’ibun, ‘abidun, liRabbina hamidun.
Meaning: We return, we repent, we worship and we praise our Lord. (Muslim)
When we travel, it’s a great opportunity to ask Allah for help and guidance. Allah always responds to the prayers of travelers, especially when we’re traveling for a good reason like Umrah or Hajj.
As travelers, we’re away from home and in need of Allah’s help. Our prayers are more likely to be answered because Allah responds to those in need.
In fact, the Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us that three types of prayers are always answered:
- The prayer of someone who’s been treated unfairly
- The prayer of a traveler
- The prayer of a parent for their child
When we travel, we should ask Allah to:
- Protect us from the hardships of traveling
- Keep us safe from unhappy experiences
- Guard our property and family from harm
- Forgive us and have mercy on us
It’s best to use the exact words taught by the Prophet (peace be upon him) when praying, but if we can’t remember them, we can use our own simple words.

(Jami At-Tirmidhi)
Dua When Stopping or Lodging Somewhere
The blessed Prophet (PBUH) recommends that travellers make a dua when sojourning in a place during the course of a journey. This is an especially helpful dua for travelling long distances, as you may need to stopover at many points before reaching the final destination.
Make this dua: "O Earth, my Lord and yours is Allah. I seek protection in Allah from your evil and the evil that is in you, and the evil that has been created in you, and the evil of that which crawls on you. I seek protection in Allah from lions, black things, snakes, scorpions, and the inhabitants of the land, parents and offspring alike." (Sunan Abu Dawud, Sunan An Nasai)

Holy Quran, the sacred scripture, is the book of wisdom that teaches man the purpose of life and guides Muslims on the right way to lead their lives. The Islamic Holy Book covers all aspects of life and directs Muslims to success in this world and hereafter. According to the Quran, this world is temporary, and human beings are in a constant state of Travel. However, Allah (SWT) also mentions physical travelling several times.
In the Quran, ‘sayyir’ refers to the one who travels. The word sayir literally means to move or travel. Allah (SWT) used this word 27 times in the Quran in several expressions, including “Do Travel,” “Do they not Travel,” and “Tell them to Travel.”
Do they then not travel through the Earth, so that their minds gain wisdom and their ears thus learn to hear? 22:46
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) also emphasized travelling. He told the believers that travelling is a great way to expand their horizons and seek knowledge. In one instance, he said
“Keep to travelling by night because the earth is folded (traversed more easily) during the night .” [Abu Dawud].
Dua Before Travelling
Shariah recommends to off 2 rakaat nawafil before starting travel. It is because the Holy Prophet (PBUH) performed this task before going on any journey. You can get the confirmation of this practice from the following hadith.
“When you leave your house, perform two raka’at and this will safeguard you against evil. When you enter your home, perform another two raka’at and this will safeguard you against evil.”
(Musnad Al-Bazzar)
Dua for Travel
Once you have left home, you may recite the following Dua for Travel at any point during your journey.
O Allah, we ask You in our travel for righteousness, taqwa, and good deeds that You are pleased with. O Allah makes our travel ease and shortens the distance for us. O Allah, You are our Companion in travel and the guardian of our family (in our absence). O Allah I seek refuge in You from the hardships of travel, a sight of grief, and from an unfortunate occurrence in wealth and family.
Dua for Travelling in Quran
The Quran clearly stated the Dua for safe Travel regardless of the mode of transport. The following Dua for Travelling is recited to seek Allah’s protection and safety throughout the journey.
While reciting this Dua, Muslims ask Allah for His blessings and wisdom through the journey. They also thank Allah for the permission to ride the vehicle. Also, this is a means to ask for Allah’s (SWT) forgiveness before setting off, so our sins are forgiven by the Almighty if we encounter any unfortunate events.
Travel Dua in English
Here’s the travel Dua English version if you struggle with reciting Arabic correctly:
Glory unto Him Who created this transportation, for us, though we were unable to create it on our own. And unto our Lord, we shall return.
Dua Before Driving a Car
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised reciting the following surah as Dua for travelling in a car while travelling by car to safeguard both you and your travelling companions.
“With the Name of Allah. Praise is to Allah. Glory is to Him Who has provided this for us though we could never have had it by our efforts. Surely, unto our Lord, we are returning. Praise is to Allah. Praise is to Allah. Praise is to Allah. Allah is the Greatest. Allah is the Greatest. Allah is the Greatest. Glory is to You. O Allah, I have wronged my own soul. Forgive me, for surely none forgives sins but You.” (Abu Dawud 3/34, At-Tirmidhi 5/501)
Dua when getting into a plane
Here are some Duas for Travelling on Plane . When you recite the following as advised by Holy Prophet (PBUH), you will stay under the shadow of the mercy of Allah (SWT).
- Dua Before Starting the journey :
“I begin with the Name of Allah; I trust in Allah; there is no altering of conditions but by the Power of Allah.”
- Dua on Boarding the Plane
“In the name of Allah and all praise is for Allah. How perfect He is, the One Who has placed this (transport) at our service, and we ourselves would not have been capable of that, and to our, Lord is our final destiny.”
(Hadith reported by Abu Daud and At-Tirmidhi)
- When Travelling to Leave the Country
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) recommended we say the following prayer for a safe journey:
“O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and all that they envelop, Lord of the seven earths and all that they carry, Lord of the devils and all whom they misguide, Lord of the winds and all whom they whisk away. I ask You for the goodness of this village, the goodness of its inhabitants, and for all the goodness found within it, and I take refuge with You from the evil of this village, the evil of its inhabitants, and from all the evil found within it.”
Dua on Returning Home
Dua for Travelling , with its amazing benefits, will get you home safely. After you have recited Dua for Journey , offering 2 raka’at of prayer is recommended after returning home as you did before setting off on your journey.

Dua For Safar (Supplication For The Travelling)
Posted by Ahmed Abdulla | Duas
What does Safar mean?
Safar (سفر) is an Arabic term which refers to travelling, going on a journey, or transportation. It is also the second Islamic month of the lunar calendar and the month where Muslims used to vacate their homes to gather food.
According to hadith and the sunnah of the Prophet (ﷺ) there are a number of duas one can recite for safar / travelling / going on a journey and we will cover them all in this one article. Theses can be used for any method of transport whether by airplane, car, or boat.
Supplication For Travelling
In short, this hadith teaches to say the following:
- (Bismillah) [three times]
- Alhamdulillah
- Subhan Alladhi Sakh-khara Lana Hadha Wa Ma Kunna Lahu Muqrinin. Wa Inna Ila Rabbina Lamunqalibun (Also referenced in Surah Zukhruf ayat 13-14)
- Alhamdulillah and Allahuakbar [three times]
- Subhanaka Inni Qad Zalamtu Nafsi Faghfirli Fa-Innahu La Yaghfirudh-Dhunuba Illa Ant
The Full hadith is given below from Jami At-Tirmidhi, Vol. 6, Book of Supplications, Hadith 3446 Ali bin Rabi’ah said:
“I witnessed Ali having an animal brought to him to ride. When he placed his foot in the stirrup he said: ‘In the Name of Allah,’ (Bismillah) [three times]. So then, once he had ascended upon its back, he said: ‘All praise is due to Allah.’ (Al-Hamdulillah) then he said: Glory is to Him Who has subjected this to us, and we were not able to do it. And, surely, to our Lord are we returning (Subhan Alladhi Sakh-khara Lana Hadha Wa Ma Kunna Lahu Muqrinin. Wa Inna Ila Rabbina Lamunqalibun). Then he said: ‘All praise is due to Allah (Al-Hamdulillah)’ – three times – and ‘Allah is the Greatest (Allahu Akbar)’ – three times – ‘Glory is to You, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me, for indeed none forgives sins except You (Subhanaka Inni Qad Zalamtu Nafsi Faghfirli Fa-Innahu La Yaghfirudh-Dhunuba Illa Ant).’ Then he laughed. So I said: ‘O Commander of the Believer! What caused you to laugh?’ He said: ‘I saw the Messenger of Allah do as I did, then he ﷺ laughed, so I said, ‘What cause you to laugh?’ He said: ‘Indeed, your Lord if very pleased with His worshipper when he says: “O my Lord, forgive me my sins, indeed, no one other than You forgives sins.”
Invocation For Traveler
Transliteration: Bismiallahi wa alhamdu liallahi. Subhanaalladhi sakh-khara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin. Wa inna ila Rabbi-na la munqalibun.
Translation: In the name of Allah, and Praise be to Allah. Glory be to the one who has placed this (transport) at our service and we ourselves would not have been capable of that, and to our Lord we will surely return.
Dua Upon Reaching Destination
Transliteration: Allhum rab alsamawat alsbʿ wama aẓlun wa-rab alarḍyn alsbʿ wama aqlun warab alshayaṭyn wama aḍlun warab alryaḥ wama duhryn finna nasalak khayr hudh alqarya wkhyr ahlha wanʿwdh baka mn shrha washr ahlha washr ma fyha.
Translation: “O Allah, You are the Lord of the seven skies and all the things that are under these skies and the seven planets and whatever is over these and of Satan who misled and all those misled by him and for the wind and all that it blows. Thus we seek the good of this town and the good of its members (people) and seek refuge from its evil and the evil of its members and from the evils of whatever is in it”. (Hisnul Hasin from Ibn Habban)
Another Dua:
A’udhu bikalimat-illahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaqa
Khaulah bint Hakim (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying, “Whosoever alights somewhere and says: ‘A’udhu bikalimat-illahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaqa (I seek refuge with the Perfect Words of Allah from the evil of what He has created),’ nothing will harm him until he leaves that place.” [Muslim] Riyad As Salihin. Arabic/English book reference : Book 8, Hadith 982
Other Hadiths About Safar and Safe Journey
The duas for safar covered this far are the most well known or common duas for journey. The rest of the article will focus on advice from Prophet Muhammad ( ﷺ ) regarding a safe travel and other Islamic traditions.
It’s Better To Travel With Others:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Were people to know of what I know about the dangers of travelling alone, no rider would travel alone at night.”. In another narration, The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “A single rider is (accompanied with) Satan and two riders are (accompanied with) two Satans. Three riders form a group.” 1
This was more applicable and good advice back during the Prophet’s time as travelling was far more treacherous at night especially if going alone. Today travelling at night is safer but you will not be as alert as you would when you first wake. Going on safar with group you’ll be less likely to make mistakes or be taken advantage of.
When Ascending To Heights (Going on Plane)
Ibn ‘Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) and his army ascended a height, they would proclaim: “Allahu Akbar (Allah is Greatest),” and when they climbed down, they would proclaim: “Subhan Allah (Allah is free from imperfection).” 2
Shortened Prayer While Vacationing:
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet (ﷺ) once stayed for nineteen days and prayed shortened prayers. So when we travel led (and stayed) for nineteen days, we used to shorten the prayer but if we traveled (and stayed) for a longer period we used to offer the full prayer. 3

If in Your Knowledge this matter be good for my faith (Deen), for my livelihood, and for the consequences of my affairs, then ordain it for me, and make it easy for me, and bless me therein. But if in Your Knowledge, this matter be bad for my faith (Deen), for my livelihood, and for the consequences of my affairs, then turn it away from me, and turn me away there from, and ordain for me the good wherever it be, and cause me to be pleased therewith.

Benefits Of Dua For Travelling
Whenever a Muslim travels or steps out of the home for a journey, whether it is a short distance or long distance traveling, we recite some duas. So we can have a safe journey and receive the blessings of Almighty Allah.
- If a person recites dua for traveling, then the Angels protect you while you get back home.
- Reciting dua when traveling can save an individual from incidents that one has never imagined.
- By reciting dua, a person is more likely to perform good deeds and have a positive day ahead.
- Allah grants the traveler ease in his journey.
- Reciting duas leads to blessings from Allah.
Hundreds of thousands of people usually die because of traffic accidents in bikes, cars, planes, etc., all across the world, so traveling can be quite fatal. As we grew up, we heard about a lot of plane crashes and other dangerous events. So we need to seek help from Allah to stay protected and safe, and he is the only one who can protect us from dangerous hazards and accidents.
We must also try our best to minimize our traveling unless it is necessary or urgent as Muslims. We need to recite duas more often so we can stay blessed and safe from the curse of shaitan at the same time.

Benefits Of Dua When Travelling By Plane
The supplication is able to change the destiny, so you should supplicate to Allah in all circumstances and situations.
The supplications for travel and transportation, whether by plane or any other means, are considered a fortress and a shield of safety for the servant during his journey.
It works to protect and preserve it and relieve the suffering and fatigue of traveling on its way to its arrival.
The dua for travelling in plane are also among the important things that the traveler must memorize by heart.
The dua of travel has a great merit, as it humiliates the servant.
You should supplicate to your Rabb, and ask Him to protect and prevent you from the evil of the road.
And it will make your journey not difficult, so you must pray to him with all your senses.
You also have complete certainty in the ability of the Almighty God to protect him from any evil so that he can reach the place he is traveling to.
When a person travels by plane, he feels a bit fearful and anxious.
If you find yourself only repeating the supplications related to travel, so your anxiety and fear subside, as you surrender your affair to the Lord of the worlds.
It is desirable for the traveler by plane to supplicate the supplication for travel mentioned by the Messenger of Allah SAW.
The supplication of traveler either by plane or car is answered by Allah, and it is recommended to supplicate a lot for yourself, to make your journey easier, to relieve your distress, to provide you with useful knowledge and good sustenance.
And there is no doubt that travel for the sake of obedience and closeness to Allah is more deserving of the answer than mere permissible travel.
This is due to the fact that obedience to Allah is one of reasons for the supplication to be answered.
However, the hadiths indicate the generality of travel, whether it is for obedience or just permissible matters, is one of the reasons for the supplication to be answered.
The passenger on the plane must be keen on the dua for travel, then he must first: take the initiative to repent from all sins and disobedience, and depart from people’s grievances.
The author of riyadus Saliheen, may Allah shower blessings on him, restricted the supplication to when one mounts a ride to begin a journey.
However, the apparent meaning of the noble verse suggests that it is general.
That is, whenever a person mounts a beast, car or ship to travel or otherwise, he should say what Allah, Honored and Glorious, has mentioned.

Hadith On Dua For Travelling
It is mentioned in the hadith of Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, that whenever the Prophet SAW mounted his beast to set out on a journey, he would recite some words of remembrance.
Ibn Umar reported: Whenever the Messenger of Allah SAW mounted his camel for setting out on a journey, he would recite: Allahu Akbar (Allah is Greatest),” thrice.
Then he SAW would supplicate:
Subhanal-ladhi sakh-khara lana hadha, wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin, wa inna ila Rabbina lamunqalibun. Allahumma inna nasalukafi safarina hadh al-birra wat-taqwa, wa minal-dmali ma tarda. Allahumma hawwin ‘alaina safarana hadha, watwi ‘anna budahu. Allahumma Antas-Sahibufissafari, wal-Khalifatu fd-ahli. Allahumma inni audhu bika min wata’is- safari, wa kaabatil-manzari, wa suil-munqalabi fil-mali wal- ahli wal-waladi.
- Far removed from imperfection is the One Who has made this subservient to us, for we have no power to subjugate it, and certainly to our Rubb shall we return.
- O Allah, we ask You during this journey of ours for righteousness, piety and such deeds as are pleasing to You.
- O Allah, make easy for us this journey of ours and make the distance short for us.
- O Allah, You are our Companion during the journey and the Guardian of the family and the property in our absence.
- O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of travelling, unhappiness connected with ghastly scenes and evil turns in property and family).”
When he returned, he recited this supplication making addition of these words:
Ayibuna, ta’ibuna, ‘abiduna, li-Rabbina hamidun (We are those who return; those who repent; those who worship and those who praise our Rubb ).”
[Muslim 1342]
Abdullah bin Sarjis reported: Whenever the Messenger of Allah SAW proceeded on a journey, he would seek refuge in Allah from the hardships of the journey, and against deviation after guidance, and against the supplication of the oppressed, and occurrences of unpleasant events in the family and property.
[Muslim 1343]
This hadeeth are related to words of remembrance when a person mounts his ride to begin a journey.
Also, a person should seek refuge from the hardships of travelling, unhappiness connected with ghastly scenes and evil turns in property and family.
He should also seek refuge from the supplication of the oppressed, ask Allah for forgiveness and mercy, praise Allah (by saying:
Alhamdulillah [Praise be to Allah]) thrice and magnify Allah (by saying Allah Akbar [Allah is the Greatest]) thrice.
To make this remembrance in the exact wordings narrated from the Prophet It is best and preferred.
Otherwise, one may supplicate with any easy words if it is impossible to remember the exact wordings.
Desirability Of Supplications During The Journey Hadith
Abu Hurairah reported: The Messenger of Allah SAW said,
Three supplications are answered without doubt.
- The supplication of the oppressed
- The supplication of the traveller, and
- The supplication of the parent for his son.”
[At-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud]
The traveler is detached from his homeland, and he remains a traveler till he returns to it (i.e. his homeland).
The supplication of a traveler usually is that of one in need.
Whenever a person is in need and supplicates to his Lord, his prayer will most likely be answered.
This is because Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, responds to the supplication of the one in difficult situation and the supplication of the one in need more than the supplications of others.
The hadeeth of the three supplications which are answered without doubt:
- The supplication of the oppressed.
The supplication of the traveler.
- The supplication of a parent.
Whenever he supplicates to Allah to ease his journey or any other supplication, Allah, the most High, responds to his request.
Thus, it is necessary to always seize the opportunity of supplicating on journeys.
When the journey is in obedience to Allah such as Umrah and Hajj, then the possibility and strength of response increases.
May Allah grant us success.

Dua for Someone Who Is Travelling
As a Muslim, it is important to support and encourage fellow believers who are embarking on a journey and to express well-wishes on their behalf. One of the best ways to do this is by reciting various prayers and supplications that show gratitude to Allah and seek His protection for the traveller. These prayers serve as a reminder that all journeys require courage, strength, and guidance from Allah. As we wish our travelling brothers and sisters well, let us not forget the power of prayer in helping them along their journey.

In addition to being required to pray three times daily (normally five, but exceptions are made when traveling), Allah also requires Muslims to begin other prayers, or duas, to keep them safe as soon as they leave their cities or towns and begin their travels. Whether before or during their travels—and whether by airplane, car, boat or other transportation—Muslims ask Allah to protect them on their journeys and get them back home safely to their families.

Traveling is ubiquitous in our lives. From day to day work commutes to going on a trip or vacation with our family or friends, we are constantly traveling. And we thank God that traveling has also been made easy. We can turn to many modes of transportation to bring us to our desired destinations. However, traveling still remains a stressful activity. We worry about safety, the sudden change in weather, missed flights, or lost luggage. The list of what can go wrong while traveling is endless and daunting. How and what can we do to deal when such a situation arises? We can turn to our God and say a quick prayer for safe travel.
Biblical characters like Noah ( Genesis 7:1-24 ), Abraham ( Genesis 12:1-20 , Genesis 13:1-18 ), and Moses ( Exodus 4:18-31 ) have also embarked on several epic journeys. They would have fervently prayed for a safe journey and blessings. Similarly, we should also pray each time we go on a trip. I personally believe that prayer for safe travel is a powerful thing to do before any trip. By praying, we are inviting God and trusting Him that He will get us to our destination, safe and sound. Here are some short prayers for travel that we can pray before traveling.
1. A Short Prayer for Safe Travel
Here is a short prayer for safe travel that you can say right before your trip.
Lord, I know that You watch my coming and going. Today, I pray for You to watch over me as I travel. Keep me safe in Your loving arms. Let no harm come upon me during my trip and cover me under Your mighty wings. As I step out and start on my journey, I will choose to trust you and not give in to fear. Help me get to my destination and get home safely. Help me to experience Your greatness and love during this trip so that I may draw even closer to You. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
Psalm 121:7-8 The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.

2. Prayer for Travel Blessings to Have A Safe Flight
As we go on our trip, let us also ask the Lord for His blessing and favor so that our journey may be smooth and peaceful. Here is a short prayer we can lift to the Lord before a flight.
Dear God, today I seek Your blessing and favor for our journey. I pray for good weather for our flight to be smooth and calm. Bless us with clear skies and the pilot with an alert mind and steady hands. I pray that Your mercy and gra

ce will cover us so that we may safely and peacefully get to our destination. . I surrender this journey into Your hands. Let us have a safe flight today. Thank You, Lord, for being with us as we travel. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Deuteronomy 31:8 The Lord himself will go before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forget you. Don’t be afraid and don’t worry.
3. Prayer for Road Trip
Here is a prayer for safe driving and traveling. Let us seek the Lord’s protection before we go on a road trip so He can protect us and keep us safe while we’re on the road.
Lord, today I entrust You for your safety as we go on this road trip. I pray for an alert mind so that I may drive safely. Please sustain my strength during the long trip and bless me with steady hands. Grant in me patience and courtesy to the other drivers on the road, just as how You grant them with patience as well. May this be a smooth journey and no accidents will occur. Bless us, oh Lord, with Your grace and favor that we would enjoy this road trip and witness the wonderful creation that You’ve created with Your hands. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
Psalm 23:3-4 He gives me new strength. He leads me on paths that are right for the good of His name. Even though I walk through a very dark valley, I will not be afraid, because you are will me. Your rod and your shepherd’s staff comfort me.

4. Prayer for Safety and Health Protection from Sickness During Travel
It is also good to pray for the Lord’s protection against any kind of sickness during travel to fully enjoy our trip.
Dear God, as we travel today, I pray that You bless us with Your protection against any kind of sickness during our trip. Bless us with Your mercy and grace that we may be kept in good health as we travel. May the people around us during this trip also be in good health. Protect us from any virus that can bring harm to our health. Give us wisdom to also exercise caution and good hygiene throughout this trip. May the foods that we consume throughout this trip be cleansed by You to provide us with the nutrition to protect our bodies, the holy temples of Yours. All this I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Psalm 37:3 Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

Main Du’a for Travelling
After you have boarded your means of transport, whether it is a car, bus or plane, recite the du’a below. Abdullah ibn Umar I reported that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would straighten up on his camel when setting out on a journey he said:
Second Du’a for Travelling
Abdullah ibn Sarjis I reported that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went on journey he would say:
Allāhumma anta s-sāhibu fi s-safar, wa l-khalīfatu fi l-ahl. Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min waʿthā’i s-safar, wa ka’ābati-l-munqalab, wa mina l-hawri baʿda l-kawn, wa min daʿwati l-mazlūma, wa min sū’i l-manẓari fi l-ahli wa l-māl.
Third Du’a for Travelling
Husayn ibn Ali I reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prescribed the recitation of the following Quranic verse when boarding transport:
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ مَجْرَاهَا وَمُرْسَاهَا، إِنَّ رَبِّي لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
Bismi Llāhi majrāhā wa mursāhā, inna rabbī la-ghafūrur-raḥīm.
When Ascending or Descending
There are two supplications that can be recited when ascending or descending.
Ibn Umar I reported that when the Prophet ﷺ returned from Hajj, Umrah or a military expedition, whenever he climbed a hill or hillock he said takbīr thrice, followed by:
Lā ilāha illa Llāhu wahdahu lā sharīka lah, lahu l-mulk, wa lahu l-ḥamd, wa Huwa ʿalā kulli shay’in qadīr. Ā’ibūnā tā’ibūna, ʿābidūna sājidūna li-rabbinā ḥāmidūn. Ṣadaqa Llāhu waʿdah, wa naṣara ʿabdah, wa hazama l-aḥzāba waḥdah.
Anas I narrated that when the Prophet ﷺ ascended to a high place in the land he would say:
اللّٰهُمَّ لَكَ الشَّرَفُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَرَفٍ ❁ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ
Allāhumma laka sh-sharafu ʿalā kulli sharafin, wa laka l-ḥamdu ʿalā kulli ḥāl.
Disembarking from Transport
After you have disembarked from your means of transport, recite this du’a:
رَبِّ أَنْزِلْنِي مُنْزَلًا مُبَارَكًا وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْمُنْزِلِينَ
Rabbi anzilnī munzalān mubārakān wa anta khayru l-munzilīn.
Approaching a Town
Upon approaching a town or city during your journey, recite the following du’a. Suhayb I related that the Prophet ﷺ did not see any village he was about to enter without saying:
Aisha J said that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked upon a region he was about to enter he would say:
Allāhumma innī as’aluka min khayri hādhihi wa khayri mā jamiʿta fīhā, wa aʿūdhu bikā min sharrihā wa sharri mā jamiʿtu fīhā. Allāhumma-rzuqnā ḥayāhā, wa aʿidhnā min wabāhā, wa ḥabbibnā ilā ahlihā, wa ḥabbib ṣāliḥī ahlihā ilaynā.
Stopping for the Night
If you stop at night during your journey, recite the following du’a. Khawlah bint Hakim J reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, ‘Whoever dismounts at a place and says the following, nothing will harm him until he sets off again from that place.’
Aʿūdhu bi-kalimāti Llāhi t-tāmmāti min sharri mā khalaq.
Umar ibn al-Khattab I reported that when the Prophet of Allah ﷺ was travelling, as night was approaching he would say:
Yā arḍu rabbī wa Rabbuki Llāh. A‘ūdhu bi Llāhi min sharriki wa sharri mā fīk, wa sharri mā khuliqa fīk, wa sharri mā yadubba ʿalayk. Aʿūdhu bi Llāhi min asadin wa aswad, wa min al-ḥayyati wa l-ʿaqrab, wa min sākini l-balad, wa min wālidin wa mā walad.
Returning Home
Upon returning home after your journey, recite the following.
Ȧ’ibūna tā’ibūna ‘ābidūn, li-rabbinā ḥamidūn.
Anas I narrated: “We returned with the Prophet ﷺ, Abū Talhah and I, and Safiyyah was riding behind him on his she-camel. When we were close to Madinah he said: ‘Returning, repenting, worshipping, praising our Lord.’ He continued to say that until we reached Madinah.”
Ibn Abbas I related that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned from a journey and went to his family, he would say:
تَوْباً تَوْباً ❁ لِرَبِّنَا أَوْباً ❁ لاَ يُغَادِرُ حَوْباً
Tawban tawbā, li-rabbinā awbā, lā yughādiru ḥawbā.

Travis Kelce Touches Down in Atlanta in All-Black, Reputation -Coded Travel Outfit Ahead of Chiefs-Falcons Game
The tight end's ensemble is reminiscent of the album that his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, released in 2017

Travis Kelce is back in black.
On Saturday, Sept. 21, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, landed in Atlanta in style, ahead of the team's Sunday Night Football game against the Falcons. Travis sported a sleek, all-black travel look, accessorized with silver chains and a watch, as seen in a video shared on the Chiefs' official Instagram account.
He also rocked a vintage 1998 Zeus & Miles baseball cap that read, "HE GOT GAME," which pays homage to Spike Lee 's movie of the same name.
Travis finished his outfit with sunglasses and a pair of black leather backless shoes. Some fans theorized in the comments that his styling was Reputation -coded , referring to his girlfriend Taylor Swift 's 2017 album.
The instrumental version of d.higg's song "Proud" played in the background of the Instagram clip, which captured Travis walking down the airplane's stairs onto the tarmac, with his luggage in hand. "@killatrav means business," read the post's caption.
The Chiefs have been 2-0 so far this NFL season, beating the Baltimore Ravens in their home opener on Sept. 5, and then narrowly beating the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 15. Despite the Chiefs' hot start to the season, Travis has yet to score a touchdown.
He got candid about his performance so far this season during the Sept. 18 episode of New Heights , the podcast he hosts with his brother, Philadelphia Eagles alum Jason Kelce .
"I used to get really, really pissed off and almost lose my cool," Travis said about past games where he would become frustrated.

"I just like to play the game to such a high level of accountability that it's just tough for me to deal with being mediocre or having stats that represent that," he added.

The tight end has made four catches for 39 yards in the Chiefs' first two games, but he is not letting those stats get to him.
"It's just for whatever reason, these past two games, it hasn't gone that way for me, and that's football, man. I'm not about to sit here and get frustrated about it," he added on the podcast.
During the first two games, Swift, 34, was on hand to cheer on her boyfriend. She spent the season opener in a suite with Travis' parents, Donna and Ed . She also brought her mom, Andrea , to the game on Sept. 15.
