All you need to know before visiting Mini-Europe in Brussels

During your journey, you will truly relish this tour around the Old Continent: seeing, hearing, touching, smelling... the various countries of Europe. During this whistle-stop sightseeing tour of 350 models representing the most beautiful European sites and monuments, you will really feel as if you were in the throbbing heart of over 90 European cities. A stop at the Grand Place of Brussels, before carrying on the walk to the Eiffel Tower, the Seville Arena or even the Acropolis... as real as it possibly could.

The charm of each site comes not only from the beauty and perfection of the models, but also from the atmosphere created by its surroundings: hundreds of figurines, boat sirens and trains passing by at high speed. Everyone looks at their watch when Big Ben strikes, smiles of amazement appear on the visitors faces when the lava of Mount Vesuvius erupts... Everyone gets caught up in the atmosphere and it is great fun triggering the action at the touch of a pushbutton (you can even bring down the Berlin Wall for posterity) or having their photographs taken as a British guardsman.

An interactive Park...

...with high technology, spirit of europe, wheelchair accessibility, other accessibility information, other things to note.

Traveling is fun, but being part of the journey is even more fun. This is especially true for children and for adults whom are just grown-up children.

Alongside monuments you often find pushbuttons with surprising results. You will have fun activating them. You can hear the national anthem, or in Finland you can make a Sauna enthusiast dive into the lake, operate the Montmartre cable-car and bring down the Berlin wall.

Each of small trucks featured in the park are particularly designed and created for Mini-Europe. They perform well due to the newest technologies used to guide them along their specific and well-thought-out routes.

You will see trains, boats and trucks passing by. All of these look so simple to assemble, just like toys. But appearances can be misleading. What seems so simple at first sight, is in reality a unique piece of technology, a combination of fine mechanics and extremely well-designed electronics.

Spirit of Europe is a covered space located at the end of the visit of the Park (included in Mini-Europe ticket) where animations, games and quizzes will allow you to test, enrich or improve your knowledge of the 28 member countries of the European Union.

1. Which is the most widely spoken language in the European Union? 2. Which is the most Western point of the European Union? 3. In which country of the European Union does it rain the most? 4. Where does the word "Europe" come from? 5. What is the biggest country in Europe?

This whole project, which is unique in its entertaining and educational approach, will, like Mini-Europe, be continuously developed.

(Answers: 1. German; 2. Guadeloupe; 3. Italy : 95cm of water / year; 4. Ereb = dark, in western in Phoenician; 5. France)

Mini-Europe

Monuments et attractions touristiques

Mini-europe.

Zelenskyy seeks German, French support as Russia tightens noose on Avdiivka

Ukraine president’s trip to Berlin and Paris comes as battle for eastern city, one of the bloodiest in near two-year war, rages.

A Ukrainian serviceman of the 47th Mechanized Brigade

Ukraine’s army says heavy battles are raging with pressing Russian forces in the front-line city of Avdiivka, as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy embarked on a mini-European tour in a new attempt to secure much-needed aid.

The army said on Friday its forces were taking up “new positions” in the eastern city as the second anniversary of the war finds Ukraine faced with battlefield challenges and a shortage of ammunition stockpiles amid delays in Western military assistance.

Ukraine claims critical strike on caesar kunikov, russian black sea warship, russia-ukraine war: list of key events, day 723, nato chief warns us aid delay harming ukraine’s battle against russia.

“Fierce battles are taking place within the city,” Ukrainian General Oleksandr Tarnavskiy said on social media. “Our troops are using all available forces and means to restrain the enemy,” he added, calling the situation “difficult but controlled”.

“New positions have been prepared and powerful fortifications continue to be prepared, taking into account all possible scenarios,” said Tarnavskiy, adding that commanders have been tasked to “stabilise the situation”.

Russia has been trying to capture the city since October and has surrounded it on three sides, leaving limited resupply routes for Ukrainian forces.

The fraught situation and questions on Ukraine’s ability to hold Avdiivka have fuelled speculation that Russia hopes to take control of it before the Russian presidential election next month, where Vladimir Putin is set to be re-elected.

INTERACTIVE-WHO CONTROLS WHAT IN EASTERN UKRAINE copy-1707904294

Capturing Avdiivka is a crucial aim for Russia as it would allow it complete control of the two eastern Donbas provinces – Donetsk and Luhansk.

But Zelenskyy, who arrived in Germany on Friday before heading to France later in the day, said his government was sending to the region as much support as possible.

“We are doing everything we can to ensure that our warriors have enough managerial and technological capabilities to save as many Ukrainian lives as possible,” Zelenskyy, who last week replaced his popular army chief and reshuffled his military command, said during his evening address.

The army has also rushed reserve fighters from its Third Assault Brigade, comprised of assault infantry and one of Ukraine’s most prominent fighting groups, to the eastern town.

On Thursday, the unit said on Telegram that the situation in Avdiivka was “hell” and “threatening and unstable”.

“The situation at the moment the brigade was brought in was extremely critical.”

The brigade added that it had conducted a raid against Russian forces in parts of the city and inflicted heavy casualties.

Reporting from the city of Kharkiv, further north, Al Jazeera’s Rob McBride said the situation looked “increasingly precarious” for Ukrainian soldiers defending Avdiivka.

“At some point, and we may be reaching that point, the Ukrainians may have to decide it’s not worth holding on to something for the sake of the lives of their men and it’s time maybe to pull back,” he said.

US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby also told reporters in Washington on Thursday night that “Avdiivka is at risk of falling into Russian control,” citing Ukrainian reports.

The battle for the city has been one of the bloodiest fighting zones since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

Many have compared it with the fight for Bakhmut , where tens of thousands of soldiers were killed and Russia seized control.

However, Ukrainian leaders have highlighted the increasingly tricky situation on the eastern front lines because of ammunition shortages.

A possible $60bn package of military aid has been held up in the United States since last year because of wrangling in Congress.

Alongside with the US stalling, the European Union has admitted that it will only be able to send half of the one million artillery shells it promised by March.

During Zelenskyy’s talks in Berlin and Paris on Friday, the Ukrainian president will attempt to secure guarantees for his country when the war ends.

The German defence ministry announced that a deal had been signed between Zelenskyy and Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Friday and that Berlin has prepared a military support package worth 1.13 billion euros ($1.22 bn) that is focused on air defence and artillery.

“Our security agreement with Ukraine is historic. For the first time in its history, the Federal Republic of Germany is acting as a guarantor state,” said Defence Minister Boris Pistorius in a statement from the ministry.

The French presidency also confirmed that a security agreement would be signed but did not provide specifics.

Taylor Swift Wears a Preppy Plaid Blazer and Matching Miniskirt to Staff Party in London

The singer threw her Eras Tour team a wrap party in London, as they prepare for their last stretch of shows in Europe.

Swift had a preppy moment sartorially, wearing an olive, red, and magenta plaid blazer and miniskirt set from Vivienne Westwood. She added a ruffly white blouse from the designer under the three-quarter-sleeve blazer.

The singer accessorized with ankle socks and olive Sézane Mary Jane pumps . Beauty-wise, she wore her hair down in loose waves and had on a red lip. You can see photos of her look here .

This isn’t Swift’s first time in a plaid matching set. In December, she paired a Stella McCartney gold and black plaid jacket with a matching miniskirt and black top while out in New York City.

Swift is playing her final five European shows in London. Once they wrap on August 20, she will be on a break until mid-October. At that point, she’ll pick her tour up in Miami.

Swift’s tour break will give her a chance to spend some downtime with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce , who has been in training camp for the Kansas City Chiefs this month. A source told People in early July that Swift is “going to try to attend as many games as possible,” as his NFL season begins.

Swift will end her Eras Tour on December 8 in Toronto. She confirmed in June that there will be no 2025 dates. She told the crowd at her June 13 Liverpool show, “I think, you know, a lot of you are like, ‘How are you going to celebrate the 100th show?’ And for me, the celebration of the 100th show, for me, means this is the very first time I’ve ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is going to end in December, like that’s it. And that feels like so far away from now, but then again, it feels like we just played our first show on this tour because you have made this so much fun for us.”

She added, “I think I once had hobbies, but I don’t know what they were anymore because all I do when I’m not onstage is sit at home and try to think of clever acoustic song mashups and think about what you might want to hear and just, really, when I’m not on the stage, I’m dreaming about being back on the stage with you guys.”
