How Long Are Snowmobile Tours in Yellowstone?

We offer either half (5-6 hours) or full-day (10-12 hours) tour options for most of our tours. For the exact length, please see the specific tour page.

Are There Any Age Restrictions For Snowmobile Tours?

Each tour may be different, but the standard minimum age is six (6), however, some tours have minimums of eight (8) or ten (10) years of age, up to age sixteen (16) years of age with valid Driver’s License. Please check with each individual tour or contact us for specific options.

What Precautions Are Being Taken To Keep Guests Safe?

We take your safety extremely seriously. We follow strict cleaning and distancing protocols to ensure you have a safe and fun adventure!

1. Granite Hot Springs

Your snowmobile guides will provide transportation to the Granite Canyon Trailhead, located 24 miles south of Jackson. Jackson Hole & Yellowstone Snowmobile Adventure

Elk Country Inn, Jackson, WY

Today will be a half-day snowmobile excursion in the Gros Ventre Mountains . The Gros Ventre Mountain Range (pronounced groh-vahnt) is part of the Central Rocky Mountains and is located west of the Continental Divide in Wyoming. Take a relaxing ride on a groomed trail through a winter wildlife sanctuary. Elk, deer, moose, bighorn sheep, eagles, and wolves are animals you could see. The Gros Ventre Valley is considered a critical winter game range, so no off-trail snowmobile riding is permitted. This will truly be a morning to remember. Return to Jackson with the rest of the day free to explore the many restaurants, shops and art galleries on your own. 

What to wear for the snowmobile trip :  Make sure you come to us dressed in layers (about 3 layers on your upper body and 1-2 layers on your legs) and bring along your camera, a water bottle, your sunglasses and a helmet liner/balaclava (we do also sell fleece helmet liners at our office for $20.00 each).

This is your day to discover Yellowstone National Park , America's oldest and most famous national park, via snowmobile. You will be outfitted with all the necessary gear, given riding instructions and a professional guide will lead you on a day of adventure. Visit some of the landmarks for which Yellowstone is famous including Moose Falls, Lewis Canyon, Lewis Falls, West Thumb Geyser Basin and the world's most famous geyser, Old Faithful . There will be plenty of time to witness Old Faithful's dramatic display, enjoy an included lunch and explore the area. In the afternoon, enjoy a return trip to Jackson with additional picture stops along the way.  Arrive in Jackson with the evening free on your own.

The Continental Divide , also referred to as North America’s backbone, cuts through Wyoming from the northwest to the south-central border. Rivers east of the Continental Divide drain into the Missouri River Basin and eventually the Atlantic Ocean. Rivers west of the Continental Divide drain into the Columbia or Colorado River Basins and then into the Pacific Ocean.  Togwotee Pass (pronounced toga-tee) is a mountain pass located on the Continental Divide in the Absaroka Mountains of the United States, between the towns of Dubois and Moran Junction, Wyoming. The pass provides the most direct access to Grand Teton National Park from eastern Wyoming. Sweeping vistas of the Teton Range are visible from the western slopes of the pass. Togwotee Pass receives heavy winter snowfall and is North America's premier destination for snowmobiling.

We saw Old Faithful, bison, Lewis Lake and several waterfalls. The winter scenery was breathtaking, and we learned so much about the park from our guide. We were able to stop and take photos. It was incredible! The full winter suits and helmets provided were key to keeping out the cold. These things were all 5 stars for us. As a first-time snowmobile driver, there were times I did not feel comfortable with the pace. I also felt that I would have liked to go slower and be closer to the guide on the way back and in unfavorable weather conditions. Not only was I stressed but I also felt unsafe. Also, as the driver, I could not enjoy the scenery as much as I would have wanted to because my focus was on the road and the conditions. These things were 1 star for us. We had an incredibly cold/blizzardy day snowmobiling through Yellowstone and it was amazing. A must-do if you are in Jackson during the winter time. They provided us with one-piece snowsuits that were worn overtop of our full ski gear, boots, and helmets. Ski goggles were not required but we were glad to have them. The base station had a convenience store, hot sandwiches, and warm bathrooms. Zach was an amazing guide and made us feel very comfortable - none of us had ever snowmobiled before and the conditions were less than ideal with all the snow. My friend and I rode single and had a blast. Yes, we had to ride faster than I wanted a few times but that was because we started 2 hours later due to snow the day before and the park opening late. We got to old faithful a few minutes before the show and it was phenomenal!! There is a reason to hurry on the way out and take stops along the way coming back. The day turned out gorgeous, even though the snowmobiling was challenging-but that was 100% due to the snow the day before. I would highly recommend having your riding single-some of the couples were very nervous. We didn’t realize how far we were riding either-the description was a little vague.
