Char Dham Yatra Registration Guide 2024

Char Dham registration is a compulsory document for those who are planning to visit Badrinath , Kedarnath , Gangotri , Yamunotri temples or Hemkund Sahib in Uttarakhand. 

The facility for getting the document of biometric registration is very easy to get. The government is providing both offline and online options for a pilgrimage to do char dham registration. Here is the detailed guide about how to do registration for Char Dham temples & Hemkund sahib online registration process.

Registration for Char Dham Yatra is Open Now!!

On Apirl 15, both online and offline registration for the Char Dham Yatra will begin. Pilgrims can also sign up through the state tourism department's mobile app. For general darshans, a token system may be implemented, and for special prayers (rudrabhishek), online registration will be required.

Update : Offline Registration has been closed temporarily till 31 May 2024

Can we do Char Dham registration online?

Yes, you can. There is no need to stand in long queues because chardham biometric facility is available online. Just visit the official website of char dham registration and follow the steps.

Mode of Verification Physically only at the shrine being visited through scanning of the "QR Code" on the allotted wrist bands or in the mobile app or downloaded "Yatra Registration Letter".

Step wise step guide to do Char Dham registration online

If you are facing any issue wile doing registration or if its your first time then you can follow this step wise step easy guide for a successful registration. Make sure you are filling the correct information about yourself. Registration is important to avail online darshan booking services. So here is the guide

Step 1: Go to official registration website Step 2: Get Char Dham information & Tourist Registration and Verification Process: Step 3: Click on Login/Register -  Registration through any of the below identity - Individual (Self) or -  Family (Self and Family) or -  Tour Operator Step 4: To create a new account, enter Full Name, Mobile No., Select Tour Operator/Individual/Family, Enter Password & Confirm Password, and then click on Sign Up button. Step 5: If you have already Signed Up earlier then, Sign In from the same page with entering Mobile Number, Password and Enter Captcha and click on Sign In Button 1 Step 6: After Sign In, you will see the Dashboard with your name on the left Step 7:  Now, create/manage tour by clicking on Create/Manage Tour Info. The Plan Your Trip Page will open Step 8:  Click on Add New Tour Step 9: Select Tour Type, add Tour Name, select Tour Duration (Date of Entering & Leaving into state) in Uttarakhand from date picker. Enter No. of Tourists (If there are 5 family members, who are coming to Uttarakhand then user has to enter 5 number in that field), Select Specific Date of Tour in front of the destination. Step 10:  Click on Save button Step 11:  Now, you will see the tour has been created Step 12: Add pilgrim under that tour. So, click on Add Pilgrim button now Step 13: You will see Registration of Tourist form now. Your destination will be displayed automatically. Here, user has to enter details who is going to travel to Uttarakhand. Step 14: Enter Full Name*, Enter Age*, Select Gender*, Email Address, Mobile number of Tourist* (To be carried during yatra), Country, Residential Address, City, District Name, Select State, Emergency Contact Person, Mobile Number and Relation (Who is not travelling with you) Contact Person Name, Emergency Contact Number, Contact Person Relation. Select if you are from below profession Tick Option (I am a Doctor), Mode of Travel for Dham (After entering into Uttarakhand State). Suppose if you are selecting Private car then enter Driver’s Name and Vehicle Number. Enter passport size photo, Select Identity proof and Upload that document. Step 15: If you want to add more tourists then you can click on Save & Next or else you can click on Finish button to complete the registration. Step 16: Then after user has to download Yatra Registration Letter in which a unique QR code will be displayed on that PDF, which user can see on the List of Pilgrims/Tourist screen. That tourist/pilgrim has to keep during the uttarakhand yatra. And also an SMS will be sent to the tourist from the system along with the unique ID. Step 17:  Tourist has to keep that Yatra Registration Letter or that received SMS on their mobile number during the Uttarakhand tour. Step 18:  Before the check-in of that destination, Yatrimitra will check that SMS or Yatra Registration Letter (QR code) for verification. Step 19:  Pilgrim will also get Yatri Certificate in their login after verification at Chardham Step 20:  For Safe Journey and assistance across the route in Uttarakhand, you can register through- registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in  And Mobile App – Tourist Care Uttarakhand (Downloadable from Google Play Store and App Store)

After the 2013 Uttarakhand floods, govt faced a lot of criticism for their preparedness for disaster management and instant flood and rain. It was very hard to get the information like how many pilgrims were stranded in the valley & their details to get in touch with their families. So when the Yatra has been started in 2014, Uttarakhand govt. made the registration for Char Dham Yatra mandatory to trek all the movement and information about the pilgrimage for data, security & for mitigation purpose. Registration Guidelines

Char dhaam yatra guidelines.

Uttarakhand Char Dham Devasthanam Management Board-UK, Opened Uttarakhand Char Dham yatra -2022 for pilgrims, across the India From 25th July 2022 with below major Guidelines.

• Asymptomatic pilgrims from outside Uttarakhand state have to clear the RT-PCR test taken within past 72 HRS immediately before entering in the Uttarakhand state. Test must be negative from ICMR authorized lab.
• In case RT-PCR test is not conducted, asymptomatic pilgrims have to complete mandatory quarantine period within Uttarakhand state, with below T&C.
• All other pilgrims from within Uttarakhand have also to register on the website and follow state sop’s and mandatory quarantine conditions if applicable.

General Terms & Conditions for the Yatra e-Pass

• Yatra E-Pass is compulsory for all pilgrims, applying through Uttarakhand Char Dham Devasthanam Management Board official website.
• All Pilgrims other than Uttarakhand State are required to clear the RT-PCR test as negative, conducted by an ICMR authorized lab and taken within 72 HRS prior to entering Uttarakhand state.
• If RT-PCR test is not cleared then pilgrims have to complete mandatory Quarantine period (21 days for high incidence place & 14 days for other place) in Uttarakhand (on their own cost) and proof of address where quarantine was completed has to be upload in the portal.
• All kind of documents which is uploaded in the portal must be carried original during whole yatra.
• Pregnant ladies, Infants & pilgrims less than 10 years & above 65 years are advised to avoid the char dham yatra.
• Occupancy of the transport vehicle should not be over 50 % of total available seats, to ensure social distancing.
• Hand sanitizer must be available in the vehicle during the whole journey.
• This e-Pass is valid only for the Darshan at Temple during the visit to the Shrine.
• If the pilgrim feels any symptoms related to CORONA Virus like- breathlessness, cough, fever should avoid visiting to Shrine or not to apply for e-pass.
• The validity of Yatra e-pass will be for 2 Days (Days will be counted from the date of Yatra e-pass has applied for darshan.)
• Once the pilgrims have visited to the temple, Yatra e-pass will be null and void.
• The local contact person/ Sponsor/ travel agency shall also be responsible for the visit of the pilgrim to the Shrine, on behalf of Yatra e-pass has applied.
• Applied Yatra e-pass will be only for to visit the shrine and can’t be used as to visit any other places nearby & tracking except Temple.
• Pilgrims should avoid meeting elder persons (above 65 years) and minors (below 10 years) during their visit to Shrine.
• During the visit at Shrine pilgrims should follow the COVID-19 advisories of central/state government as amended by time to time. Such as social distancing and wearing of mask etc.
• During the visit to shrine if the pilgrim feels any symptoms like breathlessness, cough, and fever should immediately contact to the administration authority near Shrine.
• Pilgrims should wash their hand and foot with soap before entering to the Temple.
• Pilgrims will be provided hand sanitizer to sanitize their hands at the entrance of the Temple.
• Pilgrims are strictly advice not to touch any Idols, during the visit to temple.
• Pilgrims are also need to upload ID Proof, Photo of applicant, and Medical Document such as chronic disease or had gone through quarantine period under COVID 19 Guidelines or had COVID-19 positive history. Mention if there is any travel history from other state to Uttarakhand since last one month.( if Applicable)
• Temple authority keeps all right reserved, to amend the guidelines without any prior notice, and also can refuse to enter any pilgrims in the temple premises.
• Any False information provided while applying yatra e-Pass and travelling to shrine will result in legal action as per Epidemic Diseases (control) act & other criminal acts.

Kedarnath helicopter tickets should only be purchased through the official IRCTC website: https://heliyatra.irctc.co.in/ . Be cautious of impostors, fraudsters, and cyber criminals who are selling fake helicopter tickets. These individuals may pose as company employees, present counterfeit photo IDs, and provide fake bank account details and QR codes. They may contact potential passengers through social media platforms to deceive them.

How to register for Kedarnath Dham Yatra Online 2024

1- Go to UTDB’s online platform.

•   Pilgrims begin the registration process by accessing the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) registration website.
• You can register yourself online via this website.                ( https://registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in/ ).

2- Click on “Register!”

• On the portal, users click the “Register!” button to start the registration process.

3- Navigate to the “Kedarnath Yatra” Section

• In the portal, click the “Kedarnath Yatra” section. Click on the “Registration” tab and choose “New Registration”.

4- Visit the UTDB Registration portal.

• Pilgrims begin the registration process by logging into the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) registration website.
• If you are interested, you can simply go through this web to register.( https://registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in/ ).

5- Click on “Register!”

• After landing there, users hit “Register!” to initiate the registration.

6- Navigate to the Kedarnath Yatra” Section

• In the portal, you can click on the “Kedarnath Yatra” section. Tap on the “Registration” button and then click “New Registration.”

7- Confirmation Email

• After the registration is made, a special registration number will be immediately sent to the pilgrim by e-mail.

8- Print Confirmation Email

• The pilgrims have to print out the confirmation mail and pass it along with them to the assigned base camp (Rishikesh/Gaurikund).

Offline Registration Procedure for Kedarnath Dham Yatra 2024

Visit these Offline registration centers available at various locations in Uttarakhand. Pilgrims may also choose the conventional registration method if they do not intend to make use of the online platform or if internet access is inadequate.

• Pilgrims proceed with their registration from the delegated arrangement centers that are located at the Haridwar Railway Station, Rahi Hotel in Haridwar, Roadways Bus Stand in Rishikesh, Hemkund Gurudwara, Guptkashi Bus Stand, Gaurikund, Sonprayag, and Kedarnath.
