Aiguille du Tour is situated in the northern part of the Mont Banc Massif. It can be climbed rather easely from both France and Switzerland. It was climbed for the first time in 1926 M. Dreyfus, R. Duval, P. Henry, M. Ichac. For all the routes you first have to go over the glacier to the foot of Aiguille du Tour and then a mix climb to the summit. From the cabane du Trient first traverse the Plateau du Trient towards the Col du Tour. Then go to the left to the base of the mountain. Then scramble to the gap between the north and south summit (the north summit is slightly higher). Both summits can be reached by an some easy scrambling.

• Getting There

To get to the summit of Aiguille du Tour, there are two mountain cabines that are almost always used. From the French side it is the refuge Albert premier (2702 m) that is the starting point while from the Suisse side the cabane du Trient (3170 m) is used. It is also possible to start from the Cabane d'Orny (2831 m), but that means that the climb will take one hour longer.

The refuge Albert premier is named after the third king of Belgium who was a mountainclimber. He was killed in a climbing accident at the rocks of March-les-Dames in his homeland where he fell to dead. I fell into a deep, completely hidden crevasse crossing the Glacier du Trient to the Cabane du Trient on a warm, late July afternoon. We were corded together, so no problem. Climbing the Aiguille du Tour the next day we found a mixture of rock, ice and snow - plus two dozen other climbers. A helmet is a good idea. We wore our crampons all the way to the eastern summit.

Take Argenteirre ski lift to top in village of La Tour. French Alpine Club maintains a hostel-like Chalet in La Tour that is 1/2 board and very nice, CHEAP. 2 hour hike along NW side of glacier to Albert 1st Hut. The hut was just completely renovated and reopened in June 2014 and is the nicest hut I've been in. It will definitely open up more traffic to the Aguille du Chardonet and La Tour. The "normal" route is not technical with a long glacier traverse around the mountain with a 200 ft section that can be short roped. This now is the most common way of descent and by far the best climb to summit is via Table de Roc. Table de Roc is a short "AD" climb that has some mixed parts but 90% alpine rock. Only a few sections of rock that is maybe 5.8 but most of the rock would be 5.5-7, and done without crampons. There are 2 nice false peaks with a great exposed ridge line and great views of the Chardonet. Of course the first section ends on the "Table" which makes for a good kodak moment.

The Aiguille du Tour in a day is the best summit for a first experience combining trail running and mountaineering. The route offers varied terrain conditions making it a fun and varied route. The ascent starts in the Tour village. A steep path along the old moraine leads us to the Albert premier hut. From there, we start walking on the Glacier du Tour finally arriving at the bottom of Aiguille du Tour. A last easy section on rocky terrain leads us to the summit where the views over the Mont Blanc Massif and the distant Swiss peaks is stunning. We return to the Tour village by the same route.

We guarante you the security standards adapted to this ascent that partially takes place in the high mountains on glacier. No previous mountaineering experience is required. Thanks to our partnership with Grivel , light mountaineering gear is provided (ice axe, crampons, harness, helmet).  

There is no group formula for this activity. We do not mix people who do not know each other.  

A private formula is the historical relationship that binds a mountain leader to their clients. Climbing Aiguille du Tour round trip from the village of Le Tour

Point 1 : Car park of Le Tour (1450m/ 4 785 ft) - the glacier moraine 2130m (6988ft): Trail section: steep path. Vertical drop: 680m (2230ft).   Point 2 : The glacier moraine 2130m (6988ft) - Refuge Albert 1er (2706m/ 8 929 ft): We hike directly up the glacier moraine. Steep yet no technical difficulty to access the hut. Lunch break at the hut. We leave our trail equipment at the hut. Arête de la Table – Aiguille du Tour

Interesting and varied ridge climb, fun route, breathtaking views.

The Aiguille du Tour is probably one of the most travelled summits in the massif, and rightly so. It offers a sumptuous panorama in a grandiose setting between France and Switzerland. The Table ridge, first climbed in 1926, offers a grandiose journey without being too strenuous.

Depending on the time of year and conditions, you can climb either by the snow couloir or follow the full ridge itinerary. The approach from the Albert 1er hut to the Glacier du Tour takes 30 minutes and you should allow an hour or so to reach the start of the climb – the Couloir de la Table. The ridge is mostly III granite grade with the crux pitch at IV+ (old grading). The descent is by the normal route and the glacier back to the hut and then to Chamonix.

D1: Hike up to the Albert 1er hut

We will meet on the Chamex offices or directly at the Le Tour lift station in the morning. The Charamillon lift will help us to gain some altitude and then we hike up to the Albert 1er hut where we stay for the night.

D2: Climb the Arete de la Table

Early start from the hut, we climb the Arete de Table ridge to the summit of the Aiguille du Tour. We will return to Chamonix the same day.

Level requirements

Technical level.

You need to have good previous mountaineering experience in climbing ridges at PD+ to AD (following) in mountaineering boots. You need be skilled in using crampons and ice axe on rock and mixed terrain and be comfortable and quick climbing snow slopes of up to 45 degrees.

Physical level

You need to have a good level of fitness. The climb is long and you will be exposed to high altitude. Previous acclimatization is advised.

The two equally high peaks are 130 m apart. They are separated by a col (about 3493 m). The south summit is usually climbed alone. In this guide you can find a description of the traverse to both peaks. The Aiguilles du Tour gives a not-too-difficult but rewarding mountain tour.

Aiguille du Tour - 2-day Glacier Raid - Chamonix Guides Company

The Aiguille du Tour is the summit of the Mont Blanc Massif best suited to a first mountaineering experience: night in a high-altitude refuge, breathtaking glacial landscapes, colorful rock and magnificent panoramas.

Day 1: Ascent to Albert 1er refuge Departure from the village of Le Tour (1,450m). We take the ski lift to the Col de Balme (2,100m). A comfortable path across and then over the moraine of the Glacier du Tour takes us to the Albert I refuge (2,702m). The hut was renovated in 2014; you'll appreciate its comfort and, above all, the view from its terrace at sunset. Ascent: 600m Day 2: Aiguille du Tour ascent Headlamp departure. We quickly set foot on the Glacier du Tour and put on our crampons. We climb up the glacier to the Col Supérieur du Tour (3,289m), which gives access to Switzerland and the Glacier de Trient. The trail then takes us to the foot of the Aiguille du Tour, whose summit (3,542m) can be reached via easy rocky passages. Descend by the same route and return to Le Tour mid-afternoon. Ascent: 840m / Descent: 1,440m The program is given for information only. Your guide may modify it according to the level of the group and mountain conditions.

Au fond de la vallée de Chamonix, le hameau du Tour est le point de départ d'une belle excursion sportive de deux jours, mêlant randonnée sur glacier et alpinisme. Crevasses et cimes enneigées, crampons et piolets, tous les ingrédients d'une ascension mémorable sont réunis. En route pour l'aiguille du Tour !

Durant cette longue marche vers le sommet de l'aiguille du Tour (3 544 mètres d'altitude), sur le flanc nord du mont Blanc, vous entendrez parler de « voie », d' « arête », de « pas », de « couloir »... Une initiation aux sommets chamoniards, mais les exploits de Frison-Roche ne sont pas encore à votre portée...

Le vieux refuge Albert-Ier
 (2 706 mètres), tout droit sorti d'un roman de Roger Frison-Roche, fut inauguré par le roi de Belgique Albert Ier le 30 août 1930. Plus récent, son (grand) petit frère compte 137 lits.

Le vieux refuge Albert-Ier est géré par le Club alpin français (CAF) de Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. Il peut se rejoindre via la télécabine de Charamillon et le télésiège du col de la Balme ou, pour les plus aguerris au crapahut montagnard, par la moraine depuis la Tour.

Avant de profiter de la vue sur le mont Blanc, vous serez passé près du glacier du Trient, sous 
le regard des Aiguilles Dorées, arête rocheuse helvète du massif du massif du Mont-Blanc, à 3 519 mètres.

À peine sortis du glacier de la vallée du Trient, situé en Suisse et qui communique avec le glacier français du Tour, les randonneurs s'engagent sur les pentes enneigées menant à l'aiguille du Chardonnet. Culminant à 3 824 mètres d'altitude, l'aiguille sépare le bassin du Tour de celui d'Argentière.

Climax de l'ascension de l'aiguille du Tour : l'arrivée au sommet !

RANDO PRATIQUE L'AIGUILLE DU TOUR Dénivelé : 1380 mètres de la télécabine de Charamillon à l'aiguille du Tour. Temps de parcours : le 1er jour (télécabine de Charamillon-refuge Albert-1er), 2 h 30. Nuitée au refuge Albert-1er. Le 2e jour, 3 h pour monter à l'aiguille du Tour, 2 h pour descendre au refuge, puis
1 h 1 5 pour descendre à la télécabine. Difficulté : l'aiguille du Tour est une course d'alpinisme cotée « facile », mais qui nécessite l'usage de crampons et de piolet sur la fin (escalade). Une initiation préalable à la marche sur glace (par exemple à la Mer de Glace) est un plus. À emporter : crampons, piolet, baudrier, corde, casque avec lampe frontale, gants, bonnets, bonne polaire, chaussures d'alpinisme (location de matériel de montagne à Chamonix), carte IGN 3630 OT « Chamonix Massif du Mont-Blanc ». Guide : une telle course requiert un guide de haute montagne. Compter 435 € le guide pour 4 personnes maximum (sur 2 jours). Ouverture : le refuge Albert-1er (137 lits) est ouvert du
1er juillet à fin septembre. Il faut réserver sa place (et celle du guide) une semaine à l'avance. Compter 50 € par personne en demi-pension. 04 50 54 06 20 et 06 60 33 73 62. La télécabine de Charamillon

Rising to 3.540 meters above sea level and sitting on the northern end of the Mont Blanc Massif, the Aiguille du Tour has become an incredibly popular location for novice mountaineers looking to get some alpine experience.

Straddling the Swiss and French border, this peak is easily accessed from Chamonix and, partially as a result, is often used as a warm up climb for Mont Blanc or other peaks in the range.

The mountain’s name in French translates to “tower needle”, which is exactly what happens at the end, as you finish your expedition with a scramble to the top of a rocky spire.

From the top of that final spire on Aiguille du Tour, you can see many mountains on the rest of the massif, including Mont Blanc. You also get stunning vistas of some of the Swiss Alps’ among other great views.

Before you book your next trip here to discover this peak for yourself, here is some practical information to prepare you for your climb!

Climbing routes & starting point

There are two main routes used by climbers to reach the summit of Aiguille du Tour: one route from the French side and another from the Swiss side.

Both routes are, technically, not very difficult and appropriate for novice climbers. Both routes involve hiking over the glaciers that envelopes the top of the mountain before finally scrambling to the summit at the end.

The Swiss route begins from a bit higher up and tends to take a little less time to complete, though only by about an hour or less. There are two options on the Swiss side and the difference between them is also about an hour of hiking. The most popular starting point is the the Cabane du Trient, which is located at 3.170 meters. The other is the Cabane d'Orny at 2.831 meters.

From the French side all ascents begin from the refuge Albert Premier at 2.702 meters. Regardless of which side you decide to climb, most guides will recommend meeting up in Chamonix beforehand to go over a few things before setting out on the trip.

Distance & duration of the ascent

Regardless of the side from which you start, both ascents are more or less the same distance and duration.

From the French side you gain about 840 meters of elevation. The trek begins by following a path that runs parallel to the glacier, traveling through both large and small cairns, which is not difficult but may be a bit arduous.

As you go, you will eventually drop down onto the Tour Glacier and head up its right bank, passing the Signal Reilly, and ending up at the base of the Col du Tour. From here you climb up to the Col Supérieur du Tour to the plateau that sits under the aiguilles.

Many guides pass under the Aiguille Purtscheller in order to avoid crevasses as you go. This is also the step where some guides will take some time to climb either of the other two summits on the Aiguille du Tour.

Finally, you will cross the bergschrund toward the long ledge of the north ridge and finish the ascent with a brief scramble to the top.

The Swiss route differs only in how it begins. Prior to arriving at the Col du Tour, you hike up from the Cabane du Trient along the Plateau du Trient. After reaching the Col du Tour, the climb is exactly the same.  

Beginning from the cabanes or refuges, the whole trip will take one day starting at about 4 am . Starting from Chamonix, another day is added to drive toward and then hike to the starting hut or refuge.

It is best to arrive at least a day or two prior to your scheduled climbing dates in order to properly acclimatise. Some guides will build this day into a three-day itinerary and have a smaller climb or hike on the first day.

Mountain huts

The two main mountain huts on the Aiguille du Tour are the refuge Albert Premier (also known as Albert 1er) on the French side and the Cabane du Trient on the Swiss side.

Along with being the main starting point for the ascent of the Aiguille du Tour, the refuge Albert Premier is also used as a stopping point for day-hikers.

The hut offers spectacular views of the valley and surrounding mountains. It is generally a comfortable place to relax for an evening before beginning the final ascent, with access to clean water and somewhere to cook.

The hut is open from June to September and gets quite busy throughout the season. Prices vary depending on how far in advance you book and whether you are staying on a weekend or weekday.

The Cabane du Trient is fairly easily accessed from the Swiss town of Martigny. It has basic amenities, nothing too fancy, but is perfectly suitable to relax for an evening before a day of climbing. The cabane offers the option of half-board meals, which is perfect for climbers.  

It is open throughout the season and costs about CHF 34 per adult per night.

Physical requirements & technical difficulties

The Aiguille du Tour is one of the easiest peaks to climb in the Alps and is graded as an “F”, meaning easy. The mountaineering skills needed to climb the mountain can be taught the day of or day before by a mountain guide.

Many people use the Aiguille du Tour as a warm up climb before moving on to Mont Blanc, which is a bit more challenging, but also not very technically difficult.

However, it is important to be in good physical condition before beginning the ascent. The climb will involve many consecutive hours of hiking and climbing with gear. For those who are not already in good shape, guides recommend some light endurance and core training prior to arrival.

Climate conditions

The best time of year to summit Aiguille du Tour is between June and September . This is when the climbing conditions are most favorable.

Temperatures are as warm as they get here, but toward the top they will still be below freezing. On the way up you can expect highs of about 6ºC during July and August and about 3ºC during June and September. At the base you will have about 15ºC to 25ºC, depending on the time of year.

The summer months are also when the weather is the calmest. The skies are generally clear and sunny, with average monthly rainfall of less than 75 millimeters. However, due to the mountain’s unique location toward the bottom of the Mont Blanc massif, sudden storms can form quickly and unexpectedly throughout the year.  

There is not a large amount of equipment required to climb the mountain, but it is always best to come prepared.

Sunblock, sunglasses and sun hat

Warm and windproof hat

Water bottles, at least enough for two days of strenuous activity

Winter jacket

Wool socks, at least two pairs

Estimated price

Prices vary from guide to guide and largely depend on your exact itinerary, what is included as well as how many people are participating in the trip.

For just the classic two-day ascent of the Aiguille du Tour, you can expect to pay about €200 to €250 per person for a group of three or four. This same trip is offered at about €800 per person for an individual trip and only includes the guide fee and some personal equipment.

The three day trip option generally costs from €300 per person for a group of four to €1.200 for an individual and includes the guide fee and some equipment as well.

Always be sure to check with your guide for a price quote as each one is different and includes different thing as well.

De Chamonix , prendre la direction du col des Montets, puis bifurquer peu avant au village du Tour . Se garer au parking du télécabine (1500m).

I l est évidemment conseillé de faire cette course sur deux jours, sinon la longueur devient très importante. D’autre part, il est évidemment indispensable d’être matinal le deuxième jour afin de profiter de bonnes conditions de regel et météo.

D u Tour gagner soit à pied soit en télésiège le col de Balme puis le refuge (1h30 environ du col).

L e lendemain atteindre le glacier du Tour, puis gagner le col du Midi des Grands (3235m) afin d’accéder au plateau du Trient . Dépasser l’Aiguille Nord du Tour pour rejoindre la voie normale de l’Aiguille Sud, puis franchir la rimaye, et suivre la vire naturelle qui atteint une petite brèche menant au sommet après une courte escalade.

P our la descente rejoindre la rimaye, puis descendre vers le sud pour atteindre le col Supérieur du Tour (3289m). Par le large couloir regagner le glacier du Tour puis la trace de montée.

Est ce que l aiguille est difficile

L’Aiguille du Tour relève de l’alpinisme. Alpinisme facile mais alpinisme quand même : c’est à dire glacier très crevassé, petite escalade en 2 e degré à la fin. Il faut donc avoir le matériel adéquat.

Bonjour, cette voie est elle facilement accessible et faisable en hiver ? je souhaitais y aller le dernier week end de février. Merci de vos réponses =)

Bonjour En février il faut les skis. D’autre part, l’itinéraire de montée au refuge du Tour n’est à n’emprunter que si la partie avant la moraine est déneigée, donc en fin de saison. Donc il faudrait passer par le Trient. C’est coté PD+ en alpi et D+ à skis. Une hivernale n’est jamais facile.

Bonjour romain, Vu le faible enneigement,je pense que c’est pas vraiment une bonne idée d’aller se promener sur des glaciers aussi crevassés en ce moment. Le final de l’Aiguille du Tour est en escalade facile, à privilégier effectivement en été.

The Table de Roc ridge on the Aiguille du Tour is a unique route. Not only is the climbing enjoyable, and the Tour a fine summit, but the Table, after which the route is named, is an amazing feature, one you are not likely to forget. To form the table, a giant granite block fell over on its side, and miraculously stayed perched right on the ridge crest. It has been there for many decades. and will likely continue to amuse and challenge climbers for many more years to come.

This route is primarily a rock climb, starting first on easy glacier then gaining the ridge which leads to the Table. From here, a sharp jagged crest of granite spires is followed to the summit of the Aiguille du Tour.

In the early season a fine variation can be had by climbing the Couloir de la Table, a steep snow gully on the southwest side of the peak. The Couloir leads to a notch in the ridge just above the Table, but it is also possible to exit to the left and gain the ridge below the Table, thus taking in this feature of the route.

Like the normal route on the Tour (which is our descent route) The Arête de la Table is reached from the Albert Premier hut, and this is where we spend the night preceding the climb. Rising early we climb up the edge of the Tour Glacier, gain the ridge leading to the Table (by one of the many options), arriving under the Table on a large ledge. To surmount the Table an exposed mantle is required. Easier but continually airy climbing leads to the sharp summit.

The Table du Roc is a moderately difficult climb. It is not overly long and we normally have time to complete the route (starting early from the hut) and either return to Chamonix the same day or have a relaxing afternoon back at the hut. But we do need to be able to keep to good time on the route, and climbers need to be able to move efficiently on steep and exposed rock.

The hardest climbing is about mid-5th class (French 5a), but the entire route is done in our mountaineering boots. If we climb the Couloir de la Table, we will encounter steep snow or ice to about 50 degrees.

A short, nice trek facing the big summits of Europe, including the Mont Blanc. The trekking days are short, but the panorama is exceptional. 4 days of trekking between 1000m and 3100m of altitude, with the option of climbing the Mont Buet, also called the Lady's Mont Blanc!

The Tour of the Aiguilles Rouges is a summer trek. Perfect for short holidays, or in preparation for a longer trek or as acclimatization, this excursion will be an amazing experience. Another plus: it isn't as crowded as the Tour of Mont Blanc.

You'll be snapping your camera away at the Mont Blanc, as well as the Aiguilles Rouges, the valley of Diosaz, and, from the summit of Mont Buet (3096m), the highest point of the trek, you'll have an amazing 360 degree vantage point.

This trek is a way to pack in a breathtaking amount of impressive views into a short period of time.

The route is a little demanding, sometimes airy, and at high altitude. There will possibly be sections on snow on Mont Buet. We do not advise this route for beginners, but for hikers who already have some mountain knowledge. However if you do not feel fully confident but still want to have a go, hire an Independent trek leader to assist you.

Tour de France 2024 stage 4 preview: Map and profile of 140km route as GC riders battle on Col du Galibier

A fter the thrills and spills of the first two days came a more sedate stage three, as the peloton decided to ease off on the attacks and a breakaway failed to emerge. Instead the sprinters gathered themselves for a fight to the line in Turin, where Biniam Girmay produced a stunning kick to become the first black African to win a Tour de France stage.

They took it easy partly with today’s stage in mind: the race finally leaves Italy (which has made for an even better starting destination than organisers could have hoped) and enters France, via a brutally hard day’s climbing on the first mountain stage of the 2024 Tour.

Tracking uphill from the very start, the peloton will snake west from Pinerolo along the relentlessly long Sestrieres climb (39.9km at 3.7%) and plenty of riders will already find themselves dropped by the top. Then they will cross the border into France on the way up the Col de Montgenevre (8.3km at 5.9%), another testing ascent.

After a quick descent comes the monstrous Col du Galibier, the first hors categorie climb of the race. The first rider over the top will win this year’s Souvenir Henri Desgrange for clearing the highest point of the Tour (2,642m), and more importantly there are bonus seconds of eight, five and two for the first three at the summit. From there, the riders will rush down to the stage finish at Valloire.

Pogacar’s UAE Emirates will be determined to win back the yellow jersey, now worn by Richard Carapaz, which will require a close eye on any breakaway that forms early in the day. The Galibier will whittle out anyone who isn’t feeling fresh and only the strongest climbers will be left in a small group at the front by the end of the climb. That group may be only two riders as Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard go to war in a duel that will reveal the first real clues about who might win the maillot jaune in Nice.

Whatever happens, it is bound to be an absorbing, action-packed stage.

Tour de France Stage 4 recap, results, standings: Tadej Pogačar dominates mountains

Slovenia’s Tadej Pogačar reclaimed the yellow jersey from Ecuador’s Richard Carapaz in dominant fashion on Tuesday, winning Stage 4 of the 2024 Tour de France and establishing himself as the undeniable early favorite to win the 111th edition of the race .

The first mountainous stage of the competition, Stage 4 included an elevation gain of over 11,000 feet through the Alps as cyclists rode 86.7 miles from Pinerolo, Italy, to Valloire, France.  Pogačar’s Team UAE Emirates seized control of the breakaway group as it approached the final summit, and approximately 800 meters from the top, Pogačar made his move. Defending champion Jonas Vingegaard made a valiant effort to go with Pogačar but ultimately came up 8 seconds short at the summit of the Col du Galibier. 

On the final descent before the finish line, Pogačar sealed his victory as he continued to gain ground on Vingegaard, who was eventually caught by Primož Roglič (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe), Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates) and Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-QuickStep) in the final meters of the race. 

After his win, Pogačar said that he executed his race plan well. 

“This was more or less the plan,” Pogačar said . “It was like a dream stage and I finished it off solo, it's incredible ...I wanted to hit hard today.”

With two Tour de France general classification titles in 2020 and 2021 already under his belt, this victory marked Pogačar’s 12th career Tour de France stage win.  If Tuesday can serve as any indication of how the remainder of the 21 stages will play out, Pogačar seems poised to reclaim the Tour de France crown from Vingegaard, who won the Tour in 2022 and 2023. Vingegaard appears to still be working his way back to full form and confidence on descents after a crash in April hospitalized him for 12 days.

Le premier tour des élections législatives s'est déroulé les 29 et 30 juin 2024 en France. Le 29 juin, les électeurs ont voté à Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, en Guadeloupe, en Martinique, en Guyane, à Saint-Martin, à Saint-Barthélemy, en Polynésie française et dans les ambassades et consulats situés en zone Amériques et Caraïbes. Dimanche 30 juin, les électeurs ont voté dans l'hexagone, à La Réunion, à Mayotte, en Nouvelle-Calédonie et dans les ambassades et consulats hors zone Amériques et Caraïbes.

Taux de participation à 17h

Dimanche 30 juin, le taux de participation aux élections législatives 2024 était de 59,39%, à 17h . En 2022, à la même heure, le taux de participation était de 39,42%.

Taux de participation à 12h

Dimanche 30 juin, le taux de participation aux élections législatives 2024 était de 25,90%, à 12h . En 2022, à la même heure, le taux de participation était de 18,43%.

Législatives 2024: les résultats définitifs du premier tour et le nombre de sièges

Le ministère de l'Intérieur a annoncé les résultats définitifs du premier tour des élections législatives. L'alliance RN-LR termine en tête avec 33,15% des suffrages, devant le Nouveau Front populaire (27,99%). Ensemble prend la troisième place avec 20,04% des voix. LR finit avec 6,57%.

Le RN en tête des députés élus dès le premier tour

Après le premier tour, 76 députés, sur 577, sont déjà élus. Le RN obtient 37 sièges, contre 32 pour le Nouveau Front populaire. Ensemble doit se contenter de deux sièges seulement.

La participation finale a été de 66,71%, avec 32 911 132 votants ce dimanche. Le second tour des élections législatives 2024 a lieu le dimanche 7 juillet.

Remco Evenepoel remporte le premier contre-la-montre du Tour de France devant Tadej Pogacar, qui reste Maillot Jaune

Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-QuickStep) s'est imposé vendredi lors de la 7e étape du Tour de France, un contre-la-montre de 25,3 km reliant Nuits-Saint-Georges à Gevrey-Chambertin. Il a devancé Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates) malgré une frayeur et se rapproche du Maillot Jaune.

Les nombreux coureurs ayant pronostiqué une victoire de Remco Evenepoel avaient vu juste. Le coureur de la Soudal-QuickStep, champion du monde du contre-la-montre, a fait respecter la hiérarchie lors du chrono disputé au milieu des vignes de Bourgogne, entre Nuits-Saint-Georges et Gevrey-Chambertin, ce vendredi. Vainqueur au terme des 25,3 kilomètres en 28'52'', il a devancé le Maillot Jaune Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates) de 12 secondes, et Primoz Roglic (Red Bull-Bora Hansgrohe) de 34 secondes. Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) a pris la 4e place du jour à 37 secondes.

Parti en avant-dernière position, Evenepoel a bouclé ce contre-la-montre avec une impression de puissance et de facilité. En tête à tous les pointages, le Belge s'est pourtant fait peur dans le final, lorsqu'il a « pensé qu'il avait crevé » , comme il l'a confié au micro de France TV. L'incident lui a coûté quelques secondes mais ne l'a aucunement empêche de se reconcentrer.

Il conforte sa deuxième place au classement général, 33 secondes derrière un Pogacar qui a effacé le mauvais souvenir du contre-la-montre entre Passy et Combloux (16e étape) lors de la 16e étape du Tour 2023 , durant lequel il avait concédé 1'38'' à Vingegaard en 22,4 km. Au général, le Slovène récupère 30 secondes sur le Danois (3e), et 22 secondes sur son compatriote, Roglic (4e), qui dépasse Juan Ayuso (5e, UAE Emirates), seulement 15e de l'étape (à 1'18'').

Vauquelin confirme sa bonne forme

Bien avant la bataille d'un tout autre ordre opposant les patrons du classement général, plusieurs spécialistes du chrono se sont succédé sur le trône de leader provisoire. Vainqueur de la 2e étape à Bologne (Italie), dimanche, Kévin Vauquelin (Arkéa-B & B Hôtels) a marqué les esprits avec un temps de 29'44''94.

En dehors des « quatre fantastiques » , seul le Belge Victor Campenaerts (Lotto-Dstny) l'a devancé, pour 76 petits centièmes. Preuve de leurs performances, Campenaerts (5e) et Vauquelin (6e) ont conservé leur place dans le top 10, juste devant Matteo Jorgenson (8e, Visma-Lease a Bike) et Joao Almeida (9e, UAE Emirates).

En avance sur Vauquelin aux deux premiers intermédiaires, le Suisse Stefan Küng (Groupama-FDJ) pourra nourrir des regrets. Une fois de plus. Dixième du jour, le double champion d'Europe de la discipline (en 2020 et 2021) a été pénalisé par un saut de chaîne au coeur de l'effort , tandis que Ben Healy (EF Education-EasyPost) a craqué dans le final après un départ canon. Champion d'Europe 2022 du chrono, le Suisse Stefan Bissegger (EF Education-EasyPost), 12e à 1'14'' d'Evenepoel n'a pas été à la hauteur des attentes.

Dans un tout autre registre, le local de l'étape Julien Bernard (Lidl-Trek) a profité comme il se doit d'un public entièrement acquis à sa cause dans la côte de Reulle-Vergy. Arrêté quelques instants pour saluer ses proches , le Français de 32 ans a pris une anecdotique 61e place. À 3'11'' du vainqueur du jour, certes, mais le coeur empli de souvenirs inoubliables. Et le Tour, c'est également ça.
