I’m pretty sure the gazebo is located in zilker park across from the Austin dog park because you can see Barton springs down the edge of the hill

Did you ever find out the name of the bar?

many shots are from Bastrop... Court house, main street, bakery, and gracey's.

In the episode titled "Duke" a majority of the shots are filmed at Mayfest Park, home of the Bastrop Homecoming and Rodeo. Located near Historic Bastrop on 25 American Legion Dr. The covered show barn gave it away, having taught some archery lessons in the very location.

Where are the bars that they used for filming?

The bar is on St. John's and Lamar.

The bar in the show "Side Step" is located on St Johns, just east of Lamar next to Barrett's Coffee Shop. Just drove by and they were filming, had to look up what Side Step was from and here I am! Lol. It was an empty auto mechanics place if I remember correctly, before being transformed for the show.

In the above picture, you can not read the sign on the building next to what looks like Walker's truck. But the sign reads "radiator drop off" I know for a fact that that part of the building was a scrap yard. They took cans and other scrap metal. I think the name was DNT. The building nextdoor might have been a part of it, where the actual bar seems to be, but I am not sure.

The Bar is some sort of old metal shop turned art studio, from what I heard.

Hello, there Did you film a scene at Jourdan-Bachman Pioneer Farms in Austin? Our guide told us you filmed using the side of their Scarborough Barn as a backdrop.

Was the RAM truck used as Walkers a rental? He rarely drove it, most of the action used Micki F150. Not the RAM according to my Texas sources, most if not all DPS Investigators operate out of the States fleet of F150 pickups.

Some of the episodes were filmed in Sanger, Texas.

I was an atmosphere performer on an episode of “walker.” But I live in Atlanta. I can’t find any information about which episode it was. We filmed at Georgia Tech stadium. Can any of you help me figure this out? Thank you!

To correct a few things: first, the food-truck scene was filmed on S. Congress, not Congress Ave. – and yes, there's a difference. Congress Ave. is only 11 blocks long, north of Town Lake (and it dead-ends at the Texas Capitol), whereas S. Congress extends through almost the entire southern half of Austin (south of the lake), almost to the city limits. Also, absolutely no one calls the area "South River City," despite how it's labeled on Google Maps. South Congress bisects two neighborhoods – Bouldin Creek & Travis Heights – but most longtime locals just call the area itself "South Congress," since it's not technically in either one of the two. (Newbies tend to call it "SoCo," which irritates us natives!) Similar story with the mural: it's in East Austin, not "Central East." Finally, the "Baker Business Center" is much better known as the Baker School, and it's a landmarked building that actually *was* a school until relatively recent times. Nowadays it's primarily the HQ of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema chain (which is based in Austin), but the exterior is almost entirely unchanged.

Awesome, thank you, Kirker. But in the caption, the "Church On Congress Avenue" is the name of the church located on S. Congress.

Walker, texas ranger.

Walker, Texas Ranger stars American icon Chuck Norris as modern-day Texas Ranger Cordell Walker, a no-nonsense lawman whose independent crime-solving methods have their roots in the rugged tradition of the Old West. Truth and justice are the hallmarks of Norris’s character, who stands alongside other classic Western archetypes as a true American hero in the tradition of the good guys triumphing over the bad.

Walker, Texas Ranger

noframe

Walker, Texas Ranger  is an American action crime television series that originally ran from April 1993 to May 2001 on CBS . It had a spin-off series titled Sons of Thunder , and crossover episodes with Marshal Law . It was followed by a 2005 made-for-TV movie Trial by Fire .

The series was created by Leslie Greif and Paul Haggis, and throughout its run it starred Chuck Norris as Cordell Walker , Clarence Gilyard as James Trivette , and Sheree J. Wilson as Alexandra Cahill . The series was inspired by the film  Lone Wolf McQuade , with both this series and that film starring Chuck Norris as a member of the Texas Ranger Division.

Walker, Texas Ranger was popular among viewers. It was one of CBS's most-viewed shows during its run, it was broadcast in over 100 countries, and it was heavily syndicated on the USA network. This was despite the series initially receiving mediocre critical reception, with notable criticism for the amount of violence on the show.

The complete series was released on DVD . The first and second seasons were released together on DVD as season 1, which disrupts the DVD numbering of the remaining seasons. Trial by Fire is included on the "The Final Season" DVD.

Plot summary [ ]

The show was known for its moral values. For example, the characters refrained from the use of drugs, and they participated in community service. Martial arts were shown prominently as the primary tool of law enforcement and occasionally as a tool for Walker and company to reach out to the community.

At the start of each episode when it was originally broadcast on CBS, there would be a Previously on Walker, Texas Ranger continuity announcement with the recap of the previous episode.

The show has gained a following for its camp appeal, thanks largely to its improbable combination of martial arts and modern Western genres, and to the resurgent popularity of its star, Chuck Norris.

At the end of each episode when it was originally broadcast on CBS, there would be a Next time on Walker, Texas Ranger continuity announcement with a preview of scenes from the next episode.

Episodes [ ]

The Walker, Texas Ranger TV series consists of a short first season and eight full seasons, for a total of 9 seasons. The first season is sometimes referred to as the pilot season since it is only three episodes. The season numbering is further confused by the DVD releases, which combined the first two seasons as season 1, which makes the series appear to be eight seasons instead of nine.

The original series consists of 194 episodes. In later releases, such as in syndication and streaming, single two-hour episodes are split into two separate episodes. This can change the number of the episodes in a season. By this metric, the series consists of 203 episodes.

Television movies [ ]

CBS broadcast the television movie Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire , produced by Paramount Network Television (now CBS Television Studios), on October 16, 2005. Chuck Norris, Sheree J. Wilson and Judson Mills reprised their roles, and Clarence Gilyard shot a cameo for the movie but was not featured due to the filming's conflict with a long-planned family vacation. To fill the void, Judson Mills, who was not in the original script, returned to reprise the role of Francis Gage. Nia Peeples, who played the role of Sydney Cooke for Seasons 7 and 8, was also not featured in Walker's return to prime-time television. The explanation given was that producers decided not to follow much of the original Walker Texas Ranger series, as to give the movie a fresh look. Even the show's original opening credits with the theme "Eyes of a Ranger" performed by Chuck Norris, was absent from the TV movie.

Although the return of Walker Texas Ranger did not garner the ratings CBS had hoped for, indications were that CBS was green-lighting future Walker Texas Ranger "movie of the week" projects. But as of spring 2006, both CBS and the Norris camp have been silent as to the future of the franchise, leaving many to wonder if it will return. Trial by Fire ended with Sheree J. Wilson's character the victim of a courthouse shooting, leaving many viewers to believe that there would be a follow-up movie.

When they announced their fall 2006 prime-time schedule, CBS said that they would no longer be producing "Sunday Night Movie of the Week" projects, which severely impaired any hopes of Walker's return to television in the foreseeable future. On May 15, 2007, CBS announced its fall line-up, but this did not include the return of the "Sunday Night Movie of the Week." In June 2018, cast members Clarence Gilyard and Sheree J. Wilson expressed interest in reprising their roles in a potential revival of the series, particularly to address the cliffhanger at the end of the post-series film.

Spin-off [ ]

Most episodes were based on true stories. A short-lived series, Sons of Thunder , featured recurring character Carlos Sandoval, who resigns from his post with the Dallas police and teams up with childhood friend Trent Malloy (a protégé of Walker's), to start a private investigation firm.

In September 2019, it was announced that a reboot of the series titled Walker was in development at CBS Television Studios from writer Anna Fricke, with Texas native Jared Padalecki attached to star. Fricke and Padalecki are also set to executive produce the project alongside Dan Lin and Lindsey Libertore from their production company Rideback, as well as Dan Spilo of Industry Entertainment. The CW, home of Padalecki's long-running series Supernatural, emerged as a leading contender to air the series in addition to CBS, which aired the original series. Like the original, the reboot, in which Walker would get a female partner, would explore morality, family, and rediscovering our lost common ground.

In October, it was announced that Walker would air on The CW . On January 14, 2020, it was announced that The CW had issued the reboot with a series order.

In February 2020, it was announced that Lindsey Morgan, Keegan Allen, Mitch Pileggi, Molly Hagan and Coby Bell were cast as Micki, Walker's female partner, Liam Walker, Walker's younger gay brother, Bonham Walker, Walker’s father, Abeline Walker, Walker’s mother and Captain Larry James, a Texas Ranger Captain. In March 2020, Jeff Pierre, Violet Brinson and Kale Culley were cast as Trey Barnett, an Army medic and Micki's boyfriend and Stella and August, Walker's teenage kids.

Walker premiered in January 2021.

Other media [ ]

The show has garnered a particular cult appreciation among Conan O'Brien fans, from one of his most popular segments called the "Walker Texas Ranger Lever". He explained since NBC had recently purchased Universal, he could now show clips from Walker Texas Ranger without having to pay any money. The joke was that he would pull a giant red lever, causing a random and comically awkward scene to play. Random scenes included Walker jumping out of a plane and punching a woman in the face, or being shot in the back while proposing, or Haley Joel Osment playing a boy who is first meeting the rest of Walker's friends, and suddenly interjects "Walker told me I have AIDS". Conan would go on to riff at the bizarre nature of the scene out of context. He did this primarily on Late Night With Conan O'Brien , which prompted the show's star, Chuck Norris in character as Walker, to make a surprise guest appearance by acting out a skit in parody of the action scenes from Walker, Texas Ranger .

Walker, Texas Ranger had three tie-in novels written by James Reasoner and released between April and October 1999. The three novels are Walker, Texas Ranger: The Novel , Hell's Half Acre , and Siege on the Belle . Each novel featured a new story.

Syndication [ ]

Beginning in 1997, reruns of the show entered syndication, USA Network was the first channel to acquire Walker, Texas Ranger in 1997, Showcase Action later acquired Walker, Texas Ranger , and then Hallmark Channel bought the show, Walker, Texas Ranger was removed from the Hallmark Channel lineup, and TV Land picked up Walker, Texas Ranger . Walker, Texas Ranger was removed from the TV Land lineup, and WGN America picked up Walker, Texas Ranger . When Walker, Texas Ranger aired on WGN America, the opening credits were truncated, and the theme song removed, and was replaced by the instrumental version, so they can make room for commercials. It is currently airing on getTV and iNSP.

Reception [ ]

Nielsen ratings [ ].

The show was quite successful in the ratings throughout its run, ranking among the Top 30 programs from 1995 until 1999, and ranking in the Top 20 in both the 1995–1996 and 1998–1999 seasons.

  • 1993–1994: 11.7 rating, No. 41
  • 1994–1995: 11.2 rating, No. 41
  • 1995–1996: 12.3 rating, No. 18
  • 1996–1997: 11.0 rating, No. 24
  • 1997–1998: 14.4 million viewers, No. 21
  • 1998–1999: 14.4 million viewers, No. 15
  • 1999–2000: 12.2 million viewers, No. 34
  • 2000–2001: 10.3 million viewers, No. 62

Critical reception [ ]

In May 1994, television critic Doug Nye wrote "Television Critic Confesses a Love for 'Walker, Texas Ranger.'" He praised WTR, saying, "Chuck Norris is Walker, a character not unlike those he portrayed in such films as 'Missing in Action' and 'The Delta Force.' He's one of those old-fashioned heroes who believes in justice and fights evil because his code of honor says it's the right thing to do...'Walker, Texas Ranger' is the closest thing these days to an old-time Western. Chuck Norris and company have made Saturday nights at 9 on CBS the most entertaining since James Arness and 'Gunsmoke' occupied that time slot more than 20 years ago. For this critic, anyway."

In October 1993, Ken Tucker of  Entertainment Weekly  gave the series a C+.

Television critic "Average Joe" Queenan wrote Touched by a Ranger , a semi-humorous roast of the series for  TV Guide . He denounced WTR as "Corny and predictable...With plotlines that were old when George Burns was young, music that's basically a lethal fusion of the  Batman  and  Mannix  scores, acting that makes William Shatner seem like Marlon Brando, and dialogue that could stop  The Dukes of Hazzard  dead in its tracks,  Walker Texas Ranger  is a throwback to an innocent era when producers assumed that everybody watching television was dumb...I'm not sure they're even using a DP. It's like they just mount a camera on a tripod, and then tell Chuck Norris to start kicking people's faces in for a solid hour - which he seems more than willing to do...There's a lot of slow-motion during the fight scenes, so that you can see the pathetically-incompetent drug-dealers getting kicked in the face from various angles; such is a bad idea, since  Walker Texas Ranger  already seems to be in slow-motion...Reality is not WTR's strong point; its writers need to get out more. They could start by walking down any street in Los Angeles. Yet, although the series is all but unwatchable, it does have one redeeming quality: Most of the episodes are scripted so that Chuck Norris doesn't need to talk much. Moreover, while Norris indeed has a number of successful and well-received films to his credit, Walker Texas Ranger is the first and only time I recall that he was trusted with performing his own theme music. He is no Roy Orbison."

Home media [ ]

Paramount Pictures and CBS have both released all seasons on DVD in Region 1.  The Complete 1st Season  contains the three pilot episodes and the first full season being labeled as just the first season. This has confused some fans, as the episodes are wrongly numbered. Seasons 1–6 have been released in regions 2–4.

On May 12, 2015, CBS DVD released  Walker, Texas Ranger- The Complete Collection  on DVD in Region 1.

Walker leaves game with oblique tightness

Steve Gilbert

Steve Gilbert

PHOENIX -- D-backs first baseman Christian Walker was forced to leave Monday night’s game against the Nationals after the bottom of the third inning with what the team says was left oblique tightness.

Walker was unavailable for comment after the game, but manager Torey Lovullo said that he believes Walker first felt the oblique during his at-bat in the second inning when he struck out. Walker then made a running catch in foul territory to catch a ball in the top of the third, whirled and threw to second and when he came off at the end of that half inning he told the training staff he was hurt.

Walker is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday morning to determine the extent of the injury.

The D-backs ended up winning the game in dramatic fashion, 9-8 , on a pinch-hit, walk-off two-run home run by Corbin Carroll in the bottom of the ninth that capped a seven-run comeback in the final three frames.

Walker is as close to an irreplaceable player as the D-backs have. There is no true first baseman on the roster, with Kevin Newman, a shortstop, taking over for him when he left the game.

Outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. has played 25 games in his Major League career at first base, but he has come in as a replacement in just two games since joining the D-backs before last season.

walker texas ranger tour

Walker, meanwhile, has been a big contributor for the D-backs on both sides of the ball.

Last year, he won his second straight Rawlings Gold Glove Award and offensively he leads the D-backs with 71 RBIs and shares the team lead with 23 home runs.

  • Trivia This was filmed as the season finale (a two-hour movie special), but aired before "Stolen Lullaby", which ran the following week. Had the show been canceled at this point because of excessive violence (a major concern in 1994), William Prince would have been the villain in a series finale for the third time (after Starsky and Hutch (1975) and Search for Tomorrow (1951) .)

ATHLETICS-OLY-PARIS-2024

For the first time in 20 years, Jamaica’s men will not be a part of the 4x100 meters relay final at the Olympic Games.

In Thursday’s qualifying heats, Jamaica could only muster a fourth-place finish behind Canada, France, and China. Only the top three from the two heats automatically qualify, with the next two fastest times from either heat rounding out the eight-team final. Unfortunately for Jamaica, who had the benefit of knowing how fast the first heat was, missed out at 38.45 seconds, which was slower than all but one team from Heat 1.

The quartet of Ackeem Blake, Jelani Walker, Jehlani Gordon, and 100-meter silver medalist Kishane Thompson were expected to reach the final and add another chapter to the Jamaica vs. United State rivalry, but poor baton exchanges from Walker to Gordon and especially Gordon to Thompson doomed their chances of advancing. Gordon did not run a good turn and his handoff to Thompson nearly occurred beyond the exchange zone (outlined by the yellow marker on the track), which would’ve been a disqualification. By the time Thompson had the baton, he was left with too much to do.

Trouble for Jamaica in the men’s 4x100m relay as they will not compete in the final for the first time since 2004. #ParisOlympics USA Network & Peacock pic.twitter.com/yaAuiKM5ZN — NBC Olympics & Paralympics (@NBCOlympics) August 8, 2024

This shock result means there will be no rematch between Thompson and Noah Lyles on the anchor leg in Friday’s final. The United States won their heat in 37.47 seconds without Lyles or Kenny Bednarek, who are in Thursday night’s 200-meter final. The Americans will be the overwhelming favorites to win their first Olympic 4x100m relay gold since 2000.

Bad relay exchanges have typically been the domain of the American men, who dropped the baton in the 2008 Olympics, were disqualified in Rio 2016 for an illegal exchange on the anchor leg, didn’t advance out of the heats in Tokyo 2020 due to poor exchanges, and have had five other DNFs or baton-related DQs in World Championships dating back to 1995.

During the height of Usain Bolt’s career, Jamaica were literally unbeatable in the relay, winning three Olympic golds (one of which was annulled after Nesta Carter’s positive drug test) and four consecutive world titles from 2008-2016. Since 2017, which saw Bolt’s career end lying on the track injured , Jamaica have only won two World Championship bronze medals but nothing more.

The good news for Jamaica is that their women did make the final despite the absences of Elaine Thompson-Herah, Shericka Jackson, and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, all of whom won’t be taking part due to their respective injuries.
