AIT.   Alpha International Travel Inc. was founded by Colin Hall.  A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, his passion for excelling, out-of-the-box thinking and courage to try new ideas has been praised in multiple arenas. As a young man he drummed up business for an employer, which led to a position with a major airline where he was able to hone his skills in business operations, customer service, and management.

Realizing the need for a high-end, boutique-style international travel agency, gave birth to AIT in 1994.  Since then, he led the company, in arranging group events, corporate retreats, luxury accommodations, leisure travel and more. Understand from this that AIT is accustomed to clients who have complex travel arrangements and/or special preferences but can do the simple stuff too.

Just before the pandemic, AIT oversaw clients from government, financial, entertainment, philanthropic and sports industries, 6 employees, and successful arrangements across the globe.

Furthermore, AIT is a certified minority-owned business with staying power having weathered many business cycles including a global pandemic. We are one of those small businesses that helps to keep people employed and the economy humming.

Executive Team

Hall has over 20 years of experience in the business and travel industry. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. His passion for travel at a very young age led to a position with a major airline where he was able to hone his skills in business operations, customer service, and management. Realizing the need for a high-end, boutique-style international travel agency, he founded Alpha International Travel, LLC in 1994. Since then, the organization has served individuals and international corporations with repeat business in travel planning, corporate retreats, luxury accommodations and more. Hall lives in New York City where he is active in UNCF’s Gates Millennium Scholarship Fund and a number of social and community-based projects with his national fraternity. He believes in remembering his roots as a young entrepreneur, and remains a hands-on manager who gives back to his community.

Jean-Marc Mériné

Business Development

Mériné has served as one of Alpha International Travel’s business development team for the past two years.  As the business development personnel, Jean-Marc works on gaining new clients/customers for which to sell Alpha’s amazing products while maintaining our existing customers and building stronger relationships.  Prior to joining Alpha, Mr. Mériné worked over 20 years in the financial industry as an investment professional.  Jean-Marc was the co-founder of Suoritus Partners, a New York based fund of hedge funds with over $350 million under management.  Prior to forming Suoritus, Mériné was a senior portfolio manager for a $2 billion Greenwich, CT based fund of hedge fund.  Mériné began his investment career at Drexel Burnham Lambert.  Jean-Marc attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute where he majored in Electrical Engineering and Math.  Mr. Mériné earned his Bachelors of Science from New York Institute of Technology, majoring in Finance. Jean-Marc is extremely active in the global community from his participation in the Haitian Fund for Innovation and Development to his involvement with the Bowery Mission.

Wanda Ortiz

Business Development Executive

Instrumental in the transformation of AIT as a globally recognized travel agency, Ortiz is responsible for creating long-term value for the corporation through the acquisition of new customers, larger markets, and deeper relationships.  She is also responsible for developing and implementing the comprehensive internal and external marketing plans for the company. In her varied roles, Ortiz utilizes her existing network within the travel industry to identify new business opportunities through and with corporations, hotels, airlines, non-profit organizations, RFP’s-contract procurement and other related businesses.  In addition to finding channels and markets for new business, Ortiz creates various strategies that bring value and generate revenue for the company. Ortiz holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Roosevelt University and served as Public Servant for the Chicago State and Local governments for 20 years.

Deborah Cohen

Travel Specialist and Manager of European Market

Deborah was born in Japan and raised in Italy, Israel, and the US; her multicultural background has fueled her passion for travel from a young age. She is multi-lingual, fluent in English, Italian, Hebrew, with knowledge of French and Spanish. Having been surrounded by various languages and cultures her whole life, Deborah has learned to appreciate diversity and the exciting, dynamic world of travel. She is an expert in the European travel market. Deborah studied mathematics and computer science at Tel Aviv University, where she sharpened her problem solving abilities. She uses this skill in her travel work still, as she cooly approaches each client request as if it were an unsolved equation. Deborah, an effective communicator, is always eager to expand her network across the globe. Her job at Alpha Travel lets her do just that.

Martha Corazzini

Manager of Corporate Travel and Team Lead

Corazzini has two decades of experience in managing corporate and VIP travel clients.  She has been with the company since its inception in 1994, and she is an expert in frequent flyer programs, international and domestic business, and leisure travel, handling travel groups from 10 to more than 500 with ease and professionalism on a daily basis.  Over the years, she has refined her skills and expanded the scope of her extensive contacts regarding minimizing costs and maximizing convenience using her knowledge of respective travelers and their personal account status with the company.  Corazzini earned a Bachelor of Science in Financial Accounting from the University of New Haven in Connecticut and holds an Associate Degree in Travel Administration.

Julie JH Kwon

Manager of Asian Market Division and Public Relations

Kwon is our great connection to the East, here in the West. With over 8 years of experience in client management, and marketing for 1 st  place ranking companies like AdAsia, Julie is amazing at developing winning relationships with Alpha’s clients. She graduated from Sejong University of Seoul, South Korea in 2003 with a B.A. in English Literature. Julie got her certificate of Finance and Investments in Contemporary American Business in 2011. She has a decade of experience as an interpreter, speaking fluently in English and Korean. Her communication skills are strong in maintaining the silent bond between Alpha’s vendors and clients. Her Sales and Public Relations duties at Alpha also include developing the Asian American division, and preparing promotional materials and displays.

Maria Helena Beharovic

Travel Consultant and Manager of Latin Market

A long-time employee of Alpha International Travel since 1996, Beharovic is currently Assistant Manager in the New York office. During her tenure at AIT, she has been instrumental in developing the Latin American Division; she also assists in training new staff members. One of her key roles is the organization of specialty familiarization trips. With excellent communication skills, impeccable organization skills, and a keen eye for details, she operates efficiently under pressure. Maria multi-tasks as needed to help both business and personal travellers achieve success on every trip. She holds a degree in Business Administration, and is fluent in Portuguese with a working knowledge of Spanish.

With the 2020 pandemic ravaging the travel industry, that same out-of-the-box thinking prompted Colin to form A-T Medical, LLC.  At his core Colin likes to help, often finding himself joining people with a solution, even connecting a church to a lender that provided a PPP loan after not making any headway with their own long-time banking relationship. 

Colin saw the nation reeling with suffering and in need of Personal Protective Equipment. He began planning his new medical supply company with his travel business contacts. His call to action! Problem + contacts = Solution. His wealth of business contacts is a primary strength of this new business. A-T Medical, LLC is certified as a MWBE business headquartered in New Jersey. It is recognized by the U.S. Government System Award Management and has been awarded a CAGE (Corporate and Government Entity) designation.

Carry-on Luggage: Top Picks for All Types of Travelers

The last time I checked a piece of luggage, I was moving to another continent.

Since that time five years ago, I’ve stuck to carry-on suitcases.

Carry-ons are a go-to for most travelers because of convenience and trip length.

In other words, they’re easy to carry, and not too many people need a checked piece of luggage to get through a weeklong trip.

On top of that, carry-ons are easier to keep track of.

There’s no risk of lost luggage , nor do travelers need to wait to pick up their suitcases after a long flight. Just deboard the plane and get where you’re going.

Best of all, carry-ons are easier to manage.

They’re easier to tug along cobblestone streets in chic cities, easier to haul into taxis when heading to a resort, and easier to unload and reload when you arrive at your rental.

That being said, not all carry-ons are created equally.

As travel becomes more and more commonplace, the number of travel products out there increases—good and bad alike. Avoid the duds with this list of the best carry-ons.

Top carry-on pick: Travelpro Maxlite

I’m usually a fan of hard-shell luggage. It tends to be more durable and less prone to damage and stains. I’m rolling that back on this recommendation (pun intended).

The Travelpro Maxlite stands out because it’s one of the most light-weight on the market. Also, it’ll give you the space you need to chronically overpack with 21’ inches in length and plenty of room to breathe thanks to that soft shell.

Most rugged pick: Yeti Crossroads

Yeah, Yeti does carry-ons now—and they’re highly rated.

I also think they’re the most attractive soft-shell setup I’ve seen in a while. (Why do soft-shell suitcases always look shabby? Or is that just me?)

Its exterior is made of TuffSkin Nylon, so it’s ready to tumble—through mud, rain, and more. Even its wheels are thick and ready to go off-road. I’ve yet to see that kind of feature on a carry-on, which should make Yeti the go-to for adventurous travelers.

Best for overpackers: Briggs & Riley Baseline Essential

Though not quite as pricey as the luxury pick (below), you’re going to pay a pretty penny for the Briggs & Riley Baseline Essential.

And speaking of pretty, this is a handsome carry-on. But it’s not just a pretty face.

The baseline essential has slightly more space than its competitors. While being 22’ versus the standard 21’ inch might not sound like much, only the baseline has the CX expansion feature—a button that allows you to expand the suitcase before compressing it back into shape. Like Spanx, but for a suitcase. 

Best mini option: Muji

What if I told you that I’ve been jet-setting around the world with a carry-on from a Japanese stationary brand?

And that it captured my heart even as one of the smaller carry-ons out there?

Though you can’t buy this hard shell on Amazon (only from the Muji site or a store), I highly recommend taking a look. The suitcase has all the necessary features needed, like interior pockets and a TSA-approved lock.

But here’s why I love it, aside from its tiny, sleek size and sexy design: its wheels are almost silent. Priced like a Camry, runs like a Rolls Royce.

Top luxury pick: Tumi Alpha International Dual Access

It’s a luxury option that was created with frequent travelers in mind.

There are two exterior pockets that make it easy to store the items you’ll need the most, minimizing the need for a handbag. Plus, its four-wheel rolling system is ready to take on even the most destroyed cobblestones and sidewalks this planet has to offer.

Travel Agent

You can purchase Amtrak tickets through a qualified travel agent.

In most circumstances, you must purchase a ticket before you board a train. On most Amtrak trains, only the full, undiscounted, unrestricted fare will be available for purchase onboard the train. This is regardless of reservations made or fares previously quoted by ticket agents, Amtrak.com or elsewhere. Higher fares usually apply when purchasing tickets onboard the train. To secure the best available fare, passengers should purchase tickets prior to boarding the train.

Ticket Agent at the Station

You can purchase tickets in person at any staffed Amtrak station. At most staffed stations, we accept Amtrak gift cards, credit cards, and debit cards with a credit card logo.

Accepted Forms of Payment at the Station

Credit and debit cards.

Credit and debit cards are accepted for the purchase of Amtrak tickets and services at all staffed stations. Debit cards must have a credit card logo and will be processed as credit card transactions; cards that require the entry of a PIN (personal identification number) are not accepted. There is no minimum amount required for credit and debit card purchases.

The following rules govern the acceptance of credit and debit cards at Amtrak ticket counters:

• We accept American Express, Discover®, MasterCard®, VISA, Universal Air Travel Plan, Diners Club, JCB or China Union Pay credit and debit cards at ticketing locations.

Brilliant holiday with Alfa to Dublin ☘️..

Yet another brilliant coach holiday with Alfa👍, this time we choose Dublin ☘️. We stayed at The Hamlet Court Hotel and although it's an hours drive from Dublin we couldn't fault anything about it, the food was superb and the staff were so very attentive. We very much enjoyed the Guided City tour of Dublin and also the full day tour to Wicklow Mountains and our visit to Newbridge Silverware. Our coach driver Dominic was so entertaining and most certainly knew how to keep his passenger happy 😊.

First Alfa holiday, and won’t be our last!

Excellent organisation of journey and excursions. Hotel a bit faded glory, but clean, comfy beds, hot water when needed and useful to have heated towel rail. Really great staff, food choice good especially for a veggie like me. Downside - wifi slow and not secure. Wretchedly loud disco Muzak in the restaurant…..not good for deaf guests like my husband!

Glad I went, loved it!

The driver was amazing, excellent skills with good sense of humour. My seat in the back row (second from left) was rather uncomfortable and squashed, but luckily I had nice neighbours. Hotel was lovely and clean, great staff. Only the food let it down a bit. The Scottish Highlands are beautiful in spite of the rain. Loved it, glad I went.

Shap Wells Hotel is very classy but remote.

Shap Wells Hotel is very classy, staff extremely helpful and meals very good. Interesting days out but a bit unfortunate with the weather. Entertainment was good but finished too early at 10o/c. Lee our driver always had a smile on his face and kept us informed at all times, including trips out and always kept us laughing (we think Driver if the year) 😁

Lovely fun holiday

Lovely fun holiday Dominic a great driver with plenty of knowledge to relate to us passengers. His personality brought a coach full of strangers to become friends in a short time. The Hamlet Court Hotel although a long way out of Dublin was excellent. Very clean and comfortable, food delicious and staff very attentive. A thoroughly lovely and enjoyable week…

A thoroughly lovely and enjoyable week in Torquay. Kieran the coach driver was excellent, the hotel was very good, food was plentiful with decent choices and our room was very nice. The excursions were all included in the price, enjoyed Buckfast Abbey and Dartmouth the best. Only negative would be the waiting time at Tamworth (at least 90 min) and on the return journey we had to change coach and driver twice which again made for a lot of waiting around. Apart from this, we had a brilliant week.

Dunoon Holiday

Another great 7 day holiday to Selborne Hotel in Dunoon, with my Mam and great Friends. Hotel is a great, friendly atmosphere,staff are great from the waiters/ waitresses to the bar staff. Kevin Knight was a great driver once again.

Lovely hotel, great food,spotlessly clean. My only criticism would be that it is a long way out of Dublin so didn't see as much of the city as we would have liked. Coach driver Dominic absolutely made this holiday, he is professional, informative but also funny would give him 10/10

An excellent itinerary and a lovely hotel in a great location, where my dietary needs were well catered for. Thank you for a brilliant holiday. The excursions were well planned and we had a considerate and informed driver, who made sure I could get in the walks I like to do by allowing us enough time in each location. The hotel staff provided details about local buses to maximise free days.

Alpha could have been more specific…

Alpha could have been more specific with the itinerary, eg: day 1 travel to Wales, day 2 ferry, could be day 1 late ferry and stop overnight around Dublin, saves some time which could be used as visit to Dublin. Sames on way back. As it was we had nearly 4 days out of 7 travelling.

A good hotel.

This is the first time with you and we were very pleased with the service we received. The staff were all friendly, the food was good and the two entertainers were excellent. Our room was also very comfortable. We shall return.

Stayed at Croit Anna hotel Fort William…

Stayed at Croit Anna hotel Fort William and asked for an easy accessible room close to facilities on ground floor whoever gave us the room at the hotel put us on the upper ground floor which is rooms 11-17 ground floor rooms are 1 to 10 had to leave walker at bottom of stairs and walk up 4 stairs this put us at risk. Manager was not interested and told us had no more rooms would not mind but we were first on coach to book this holiday. They missed giving us 3 wakeup calls. Food was not good. Overall not a very good holiday.

Cornish delights

The arrangements from pick up point to Tamworth were excellent, and we really appreciate the fact that the luggage is transferred for us while we have some refreshments. The journey was superb - Kevin our driver - was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and we arrived at the hotel in good time. Dave, the manager of the hotel, came on the coach to welcome us and explain about booking in, everything was done to make us feel welcome. The hotel is clean and comfortable, and the food superb! Several times I had to ask for smaller portions! Trips out were well organised and there was plenty of leisure time to explore the area. Having been on an Alpha holiday 4 times now, we wouldn't go with anyone else.

First Alfa coach holiday

We had a lovely holiday Dave our driver was great very helpful and his knowledge was excellent. The hotel stafff in the dining room were very good.Our room we were not happy with very small and the air conditioning unit that served the kitchen was outside our window which we needed open because it was very warm was very noisy. We were moved to another room which was very small and had dustbins and scaffolding outside the window .The outlook was very poor.

Wonderful experience

The bus driver was friendly and clear with instructions. The hotel was clean, the staff happy and helpful. The food was tasty, the packed lunch for traviling home was very good. My husband is gluten free, and the choice was very good, Anne and Marie our waitress were excellent in remembering and helping him make changers to fitfor his meals. This is our first trip with you, but it will not be our last.

Although it was not an ALFA hotel it…

Although it was not an ALFA hotel it was very impressive being an old Insurance building with some lovely chandeliers around. The staff were very helpful, the only shall I say slight downfall was that we could not have our evening meal until 7.30 and one evening it was 9.20 before we had our dessert.

Happy Holidays

We had a great driver. The hotel was very clean, the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The only downside for us was the mealtimes, early breakfast and dinner but we do realise that the mealtimes have to be staggered. Maybe a choice of times when booking if possible.

Kære Heine. Vi har haft en rigtig fin tur til Wien. Meininger Hotel i Colombusgasse er et virkelig godt hostel, som i høj grad kan anbefales. Jeg / vi vender tilbage vedr. studietur til næste skoleår – forhåbentlig kort tid efter påske.

Skirejse til Neukirchen

Tak for en god tur til Østrig – alt fungerede efter planen.

Studierejse for lærerkollegiet til Bremen

Det var en kanon god tur til Bremen – godt planlagt og gode udflugter – god mad og et utrolig godt sted fredag aften hvor musikken var helt i højsædet. Nu ved jeg godt at det ikke er jeres fortjeneste det med ølfest i Bremen, men det endte helt vildt festligt og godt. Tak for en dejlig tur.

Skolerejse til Berlin

Vi har haft en rigtig god tur i Berlin. Rejsen har på alle måder levet op til forventningerne. Det være sig jeres (din) meget gode service, busselskabet vi rejste med og ikke mindst den meget centrale placering af og selve opholdet på “De tre små grise”. Alt i alt kan vi kun sige, at I lever op til jeres motto:

Vi havde en super-tur med sol og 20 grader de første 3 dage. Museerne er af høj kvalitet.

I skal som rejsebureau have stor ros for at levere en rettidig og effektiv dialog om rejseideer, justeringer ift. at en klasse skal af sted samt give tryghed, når der skal undervises i en storby.

AlfA Travel står øverst på listen når der skal planlægges fremtidige storby-ture og det formidles videre i lærerværelset.

Vores erfaring gør dit ansvar for grupperejsen meget lettere at bære. Vi hjælper med at skabe overblik over de praktiske ting, og hvis noget mod forventning skulle gå skævt på rejsen, så hjælper vi – døgnet rundt.

Du finder vejledende priser på de fleste af vores rejsemål. Det er vores mål, at de er så realistiske som muligt og vi tilpasser dem løbende. Vi ved at prisen er vigtig, og at vi altid skal være konkurrencedygtige. Test os, og bestil et gratis og uforpligtende tilbud.

Overblik fra start til slut

Når du har bestilt en grupperejse, så får du adgang til AlfA Gate. Gaten er jeres personlige rejsemappe, hvor I samlet, på et sted, kan finde al praktisk information om og inspiration til rejsen.

Det kan være en stor opgave og et stort ansvar, at arrangere en grupperejse. Det ansvar bliver meget lettere at bære i samarbejde med os. Din faste rejserådgiver er din direkte vej til al den hjælp, du har brug for. Der findes ingen dumme spørgsmål, og gode råd er gratis.
