Our trip was fun. The area was beautiful. Our guide was great and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend to go with Ragin Cajun for this adventure. Keep in mind the alligators are wild animals and can be unpredictable. Anything can happen so be careful.

Pontoon Boat Swamp Tours

Set out on a 20,000-acre (8,095-hectare) tract of tidewater cypress swamp close to the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. Your flat-bottomed boat is leisurely guided through the shallow marshes. Discover bayous lined with mossy cypress and tupelo-gum trees as your captain points out a stunning variety of wildlife. Enjoy a fully narrated tour by a local guide.

Prepare to see plenty of alligators in the warmer months (and warmer days in winter), some of which may be sunning themselves on logs! Your guide may even feed the gators, affording you amazing photo opportunities. Also, keep your eyes open for turtles, snakes, egrets, herons, and ibis. You may even catch sight of a hawk, owl, or bald eagle. In the cooler months, look for white-tailed deer, raccoons, and the large rodents known as nutria.

Your morning or afternoon tour ends at the embarkation point. Be sure to check out the indoor exhibits of alligators — including an albino alligator — before making your way back to downtown New Orleans.

Note: This tour does not include hotel pick-up or drop-off unless hotel pickup and drop-off is selected. Roundtrip transportation is an extra $30 per person. Duration: 1hr 30 min

We are approximately 30 miles from downtown New Orleans. Are you staying at a hotel in the Greater New Orleans area? We can pick you up and drop you off! (Unfortunately, we can’t offer rides to or from residential areas or Airbnbs.) Transportation pickup begins 1 hour and 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time. Please be waiting outside your pickup location, as drivers have a short window of time to pick up all guests.
