Network Presentations announced Monday that “The Book of Mormon” will visit 48 US cities on a national tour set to begin in fall 2022.

Twenty-five of the destination cities will host the musical for the first time, while the rest will present return engagements of the 2011 Tony-winning Best Musical. The full tour itinerary will be revealed in the coming months.

It was announced in April 2020 that the musical’s previous tour, which had been on the road for seven years, would end its run due to COVID-19 concerns.

Network Presentations has previously presented the touring productions of “Anastasia,” “The Prom” and “Fiddler on The Roof,” among others.

“The Book of Mormon” currently plays the Eugene O’Neill Theatre on Broadway.

The Book of Mormon follows two young missionaries who are sent to Uganda to try to convert citizens to the Mormon religion. One missionary, Elder Price, is an enthusiastic go-getter with a strong dedication to his faith, while his partner, Elder Cunningham, is a socially awkward but well meaning nerd whose tendency to embroider the truth soon lands him in trouble. Upon their arrival in Africa, Elders Price and Cunningham learn that in a society plagued by AIDS, poverty and violence, a successful mission may not be as easy as they expected.

NETworks Presentations and the producers of  The Book of Mormon  North American Tour have announced new casting as the musical prepares for another season on the road.

Winner of nine Tony Awards ® , including Best Musical, The Book of Mormon launched a new North American tour in September 2022, playing more than 50 cities since then. New cities for the 2023-2024 season include Providence, Ft. Lauderdale, Seattle, Boston, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Washington DC, San Antonio, and many more. The current cast for the national tour of The Book of Mormon features Sam McLellan as Elder Price, Sam Nackman as Elder Cunningham, Keke Nesbitt as Nabulungi, Sean Casey Flanagan as Elder McKinley, Lamont J. Whitaker as Mafala Hatimbi, Trevor Dorner as Missionary Training Center Voice/Price’s Dad/Joseph Smith/Mission President, and Dewight Braxton Jr. as General. With twelve years and counting on Broadway and close to a decade on tour, The Book of Mormon has played to over 19 million fans to date. Produced by NETworks Presentations, the new tour has been built to play in even more theatres across the country.

The Book of Mormon features book, music and lyrics by Trey Parker , Robert Lopez and Matt Stone . The Broadway production is directed by Parker and two-time Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw and choreographed by Nicholaw. The tour is directed and choreographed by Jennifer Werner based on the original Broadway direction and choreography. Set design is by three-time Tony Award winner Scott Pask, costume design is by Tony Award winner Ann Roth , lighting design is by five-time Tony Award winner Brian MacDevitt , sound design is by two-time Tony Award winner Brian Ronan , and hair design is by Josh Marquette . Orchestrations are by Tony Award winner Larry Hochman and two-time Tony Award winner Stephen Oremus . Music supervision and vocal arrangements are by Stephen Oremus. Casting is by Carrie Gardner .

Since opening on March 24, 2011, The Book of Mormon has become one of the most successful shows in Broadway history, breaking the Eugene O’Neill Theatre house record more than 50 times. In addition to nine Tony Awards including Best Musical and the Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album, The Book of Mormon won five Drama Desk Awards including Best Musical, the NY Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical, the Drama League Award for Best Musical and four Outer Critics Circle Awards including Best Musical.

The West End production opened in February 2013, winning four Olivier Awards including Best New Musical, and breaking the record for the highest single day of sales in West End history. The first-ever UK and European tour launched in Manchester in June 2019, winning ‘Best Theatre Show’ at the Manchester Evening News City Life Awards before touring throughout the UK and Europe.

The Book of Mormon has been performed on three continents and has won over 30 international awards. The musical has smashed long-standing box office records in New York, London, Melbourne, Sydney and in cities across the U.S. and the world.

BACK TO THE FUTURE  - National Tour (through August 31, 2025) Marty McFly is a rock ‘n’ roll teenager who is accidentally transported back to 1955 in a time-travelling DeLorean invented by his friend, Dr. Emmett Brown. But before he can return to 1985, Marty must make sure his high school-aged parents fall in love in order to save his own existence. [Equity]

A BEAUTIFUL NOISE, THE NEIL DIAMOND MUSICAL  - National Tour (beginning September 21, 2024) With his first break into songwriting in the 1960s and his meteoric rise in the 1970s, and plenty of crushing disappointments and heart-stopping triumphs along the way, Neil Diamond has maintained an almost unthinkable level of superstardom for five straight decades. CLUE  - National Tour (through May 18, 2025) It’s a dark and stormy night, and you’ve been invited to a dinner party. Murder and blackmail are on the menu when six guests assemble at Boddy Manor for a night they’ll never forget… if they make it out alive. Was it Mrs. Peacock in the study with the knife? Or Colonel Mustard in the library with the wrench? Based on the cult movie and the classic board game,  Clue is the ultimate whodunit that will leave you dying of laughter and keep you guessing until the final twist. COMPANY - National Tour (through October 6, 2024) In a series of vignettes, New York bachelorette Bobbie learns about the perils and pleasures of love, marriage, dating and divorce from her married friends. [Equity]

DEAR EVAN HANSEN - National Tour (through April 27, 2025) A letter that was never meant to be seen, a lie that was never meant to be told, a life he never dreamed he could have. Evan Hansen is about to get the one thing he's always wanted: a change to finally fit in. Dear Evan Hansen is the deeply personal and profoundly contemporary musical about life and the way we live it. [Non-Equity]

DR. SEUSS' HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS!  - National Tour (beginning November 2, 2024) Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas! is a wonderful, whimsical musical based upon the classic Dr. Seuss book. Back for another incredible year, the family favorite features the songs “Santa for a Day,” “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” and “Welcome, Christmas (Fah Who Doraze),” the delightful carol from the popular animated version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Celebrate the holidays as the Old Globe Theatre is once again transformed into the snow-covered Who-ville, right down to the last can of Who-hash. [Non-Equity]

ELF THE MUSICAL -  National Tour (beginning November 2, 2024) ELF The Musical is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy’s enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. FUNNY GIRL - National Tour (through April 13, 2025) Jule Styne, Bob Merrill and Isobel Lennart musicalize the life of Fanny Brice, who rose from the ranks of Brooklyn vaudeville to headline the Ziegfeld Follies, but found unhappiness in her marriage to gambler Nick Arnstein. [Equity]  

GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY - National Tour (through October 20, 2024) Duluth, Minnesota in the midst of the Great Depression. A family adrift, their future on a knife edge. Lost and lonely people drifting through rooms of their guesthouse. But Nick Laine thinks he’s seen a way out... [Equity]

HAMILTON - National Tour (through September 7, 2025) Winner of 11 Tony Awards and the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Hamilton is one of Broadway’s biggest hits. From the mind of 2015 MacArthur Genius grant recipient Lin-Manuel Miranda and Ron Chernow’s landmark bestselling biography comes a new musical about the scrappy young immigrant who forever changed America, Alexander Hamilton. Tony Award-winner Thomas Kail directs this musical about taking your shot, speaking your mind, and turning the world upside down. [Equity]

HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD- National Tour (beginning September 10, 2024) Prepare to be on the edge of your seat as Harry, Ron and Hermione launch into a thrilling new adventure that begins 19 years later in a one show incarnation following its world premiere as a two-part play. [Equity]

KIMBERLY AKIMBO  - National Tour (through August 10, 2025) Kim is a bright and funny Jersey teen, who happens to look like a 72-year-old lady. And yet her aging condition may be the least of her problems. Forced to maneuver family secrets, borderline personalities, and possible felony charges, Kim is determined to find happiness in a world where not even time is on her side. Based on the play of the same name. [Equity]

LES MISÉRABLES - National Tour (through August 10, 2025) Relentless policeman Javert pursues escaped convict Jean Valjean over decades through the tumult of revolutionary France. Valjean becomes a mayor, agrees to raise the daughter of dying prostitute and joins the fight for freedom. Based on Victor Hugo's epic novel. [Equity]

LIFE OF PI  - National Tour (beginning December 7, 2024) After a cargo ship sinks in the middle of the vast Pacific Ocean, there are five survivors stranded on a lifeboat - a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan, a Royal Bengal tiger, and a sixteen year-old boy named Pi. Time is against them, nature is harsh, who will survive? [Equity]

THE LION KING - National Tour (through September 14, 2025) More than 70 million people around the world have experienced the awe-inspiring visual artistry, the unforgettable music, and the uniquely theatrical storytelling of this Broadway spectacular—one of the most breathtaking and beloved productions ever to grace the stage. Winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and based on the beloved 1994 Disney film, The Lion King brings together one of the most imaginative creative teams on Broadway. MEAN GIRLS  - National Tour (through May 18, 2025) Cady Heron may have grown up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. How will this naïve newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? By taking on The Plastics, a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George. MOULIN ROUGE - National Tour (through August 10, 2025) Set in Montmartre Quarter of Paris, France at the turn of the century, a world of indulgent beauty and unparalleled extravagance, of bohemians and aristocrats, of boulevardiers and mademoiselles, Moulin Rouge! The Musical tells the fictional story of an ambitious, lovesick writer, Christian, and a dazzling, entrancing chanteuse, Satine. Their lives collide at the Moulin Rouge with its many characters including the host of the Moulin Rouge, Harold Zidler, the brilliant and starving artist Toulouse-Lautrec, the greatest tango dancer - and gigolo - in all of Paris, Santiago, the tempting Nini, and The Duke of Monroth, the wealthy and entitled patron of the club who thinks he can buy anything he wants, including love. MYSTIC PIZZA - National Tour (beginning January 7, 2025) A new musical based on the 1988 rom-com from MGM and screenwriter Amy Holden Jones. Adapted by Sandy Rustin, with arrangements and orchestrations by Carmel Dean, choreographed by Connor Gallagher, and directed by Casey Hushion, Mystic Pizza tells the story of three working-class girls who navigate the complexities of life, love, and family in a small-town pizza joint. PARADE  - National Tour (beginning January 11, 2025) In 1913, Leo Frank, a New York Jew married to a southern belle, was accused of murdering a teenager who worked in his factory. Parade retells this true story, emphasizing the South's resentment of the industrial north, the sensational trial -- and the love that intensified as Frank's wife rose to his defense. [Equity]

PETER PAN  - National Tour (through May 18, 2025) This high-flying musical has been delighting audiences of all ages for close to 70 years and is now being brought back to life in a new adaptation by celebrated playwright Larissa FastHorse and directed by Emmy Award-winner Lonny Price. The adventure begins when Peter Pan and his mischievous fairy sidekick, Tinker Bell, visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night. With a sprinkle of pixie dust and a few happy thoughts, the children are taken on a magical journey they will never forget. [Non-Equity]

PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL  - National Tour (through May 11, 2025) Based on the hit film, Pretty Women is a modern Cinderella story. A businessman hires an escort to spend the weekend with him, but before long, the two learn that their connection goes beyond a simple transaction. [Non-Equity]

RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER: THE MUSICAL  - National Tour (beginning November 10, 2024) The world’s most famous reindeer and a holly jolly cast of iconic characters—including Hermey the Elf, Yukon Cornelius, and the Abominable Snow Monster—help Santa save Christmas! [Non-Equity]

SHREK THE MUSICAL - National Tour (through December 29, 2024) A benign green ogre and his sidekick Donkey save the land from an evil lord and rescue a lovely princess from a terrible fate. Based on the blockbuster movie and the book by William Steig. [Non-Equity]

SHUCKED  - National Tour (beginning October 20, 2024) What do you get when you pair a semi-neurotic, New York comedy writer with two music superstars from Nashville? A hilarious and audacious farm-to-fable musical about the one thing Americans everywhere can’t get enough of: corn. Shucked is the new musical comedy that proves sometimes tearing down a few walls, rather than growing them, is the only way to preserve our way of life. SIX: The Musical - National Tour (through June 1, 2025) Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived . SOME LIKE IT HOT  - National Tour (beginning September 17, 2024)

Set in Chicago when Prohibition has everyone thirsty for a little excitement, Some Like It Hot is the rollicking story of two musicians forced to flee the Windy City after witnessing a mob hit. With gangsters hot on their heels, they’re on the run as the newest members of the swingingest big band ever to cross the country. Can they hide in plain sight without completely losing themselves? Or will the mob, the truth, and maybe even love itself finally catch up to them? [Equity]

TINA: THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL  - National Tour (beginning September 21, 2024) From humble beginnings in Nutbush, Tennessee, to her transformation into the global Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Tina Turner didn’t just break the rules, she rewrote them. This new stage musical reveals the untold story of a woman who dared to defy the bounds of her age, gender and race. [Non-Equity]

WICKED - National Tour (through October 26, 2025) Winner of three 2004 Tony Awards, Wicked is a Broadway phenomenon that looks at what happened in the Land of Oz… but from a different angle. With a thrilling score that includes the hits “Defying Gravity,” “Popular,” and “For Good,” Wicked transfixes audiences with its wildly inventive story and opulent physical production. [Equity]

THE WIZ  - National Tour (beginning February 22, 2025) This groundbreaking twist on The Wizard of Oz changed the face of Broadway—from its iconic score packed with soul, gospel, rock, and finger-snapping 70s funk to its stirring tale of Dorothy’s journey to find her place in a contemporary world. Michael Kushner hosts the series exploring the multi-faceted careers of some of Broadway's best.

Conceived and directed by Stephen Sachs, the work follows an 18 year-old who turned in his father to the FBI via real-life public statements and court transcripts.

The new work from Jay Martel will give two performances at Hollywood's Whitley Theatre.

The young star is cherishing the little things in the lead up to her exit from the romantic musical.

The initiative awards more than $500,000 in scholarships and grants to student artists and school communities.

Jeff Cohen's autobiographical comedy centers on his eccentric father, Stan “Squeaky” Cohen, a man who was banned from every Old Country Buffet in metro Baltimore.

The newest edition of the long-running Gerard Alessandrini revue plays Theater 555 Off-Broadway.

The evening, themed Back in Time, is presented by The PATH Fund, dedicated to performing arts education.

To mark Peck's 10th year as resident choreographer, former NYCB soloist turned film producer Ellen Bar reflects on the Tony winner's journey thus far.
