Sixth Annual Allman Family Revival Tour to Honor Gregg Allman This Fall

Devon Allman has announced the sixth annual Allman Family Revival, which will see musicians paying tribute to the life and music of Gregg Allman . The 18-date tour kicks off in November and will feature the Devon Allman Project, Duane Betts , Donovan Frankenreiter , Maggie Rose , G. Love , and more.

“We are in the sixth year of saluting my Dad’s music and life for the Allman Family Revival, but it’s reaching beyond that initial sentiment,” Devon Allman said in a statement. “It’s galvanizing relationships within our generation of musicians. It’s continuing a tradition of feel based music and it’s an honor to put these shows on. Because at the end of the day I feel it’s way more about perpetuating this art form than it is about leaving our mark. Our true mark is simply the continuance, making sure we inspire the next in line to take the stage.”

The Allman Family Revival initially began as a one-off concert in 2017 at The Fillmore in San Francisco to celebrate the late Gregg Allman’s life on what would have been his 70th birthday. It has since expanded into a full tour; last year it hit 18 cities around the U.S.

Devon Allman formed the Allman Betts Band in 2018 with Duane Betts, the son of Allman Brothers guitarist Dickey Betts . They play a mixture of original songs and tip their caps to their fathers by adding a couple of Allman Brothers classics to each live show.

Other musicians on this year’s line-up, which varies by city, include Larry McCray, George Porter Jr., River Kittens, Orbi Orbison, Jimmy Hall, Ivan Neville, Ian Neville, and Luther Dickinson.

“My favorite part is just the joy of the audience,” Devon Allman added. “I can tell they are touched and getting every penny’s worth. Knowing Dad is looking down saying, ‘Damn, son, all that hot jammin’ for me?!’ I know he’s tickled that we celebrate him.  Because none of us has to do this.  We all have busy careers.  This is a ‘want to’ situation; absolutely, 100% about music and celebration and tribute.”

The Allman Family Revival tour kicks off Nov. 26 in Macon, GA at Macon City Auditorium and continues through December before concluding at The Fillmore in San Francisco on Dec. 17. Pre-sale tickets are available now with the code “Revival22,” while all tickets will go on sale Friday, Aug. 5 via the tour’s website .

Allman Betts Family Revival Map Out Late 2023 Tour Dates

Today, Allman Betts Family Revival delivered the dates and locations for an impending run of shows, set to commence on Nov. 25 at The Factory in St. Louis. On the road, second-generation players Devon Allman and Duane Betts will bring together an all-star lineup of musicians to revive their fathers’ Allman Brothers Band material, which will range from hits to deep cuts. 

During their 16-stop tour, Allman and Betts will welcome Anders Osborne, Luther and Cody Dickenson (North Mississippi Allstars), Jimmy Hall (Jeff Beck, Wet Willie), Jackie Greene, Larry McCray, Orbi Orbison, Tal Wilkenfeld and Ally Venable. In addition, at selection locations, guest artists include Sierra Hull and G. Love, with other names expected to be added in the future. 

Following their initial night on stage, Allman Family Revival will go from St. Louis to Nashville, Ind.’s Brown County Music Center, for a gig on Nov. 26. After, they’re expected to perform in St. Charles, Ill., before a Nov. 29 performance at Kleinhans Music Hall in Buffalo, N.Y. Situated on the East Coast, they’ll play in Reading, Pa., next, with follow-ups slated for Boston and New York.

In early December, they’ll put on a show at The Paramount in Huntington, N.Y., then drop into the Southern region of the U.S., where they’ll stop in Virginia before a notable return to the Allman Brothers Band’s chosen home of Macon, Ga. After that, they’ll work through South Carolina and Florida. The band will take a stand at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn., on Dec. 15 and will close out their tour with a final stop at ACL Live at The Moody Theater, in Austin, Texas, on Dec. 17.

The Allman Betts Family Revival got their footing with an initial one-off concert in 2017, slated to celebrate the life of Gregg Allman on what would have been the celebrated singer and songwriter’s 70th birthday. The show occurred at The Fillmore in San Francisco and started a special live music tradition. During the impending tour, they will also welcome back The Brotherhood of Light for the otherworldly visuals Allman Brothers fans experienced at the height of their career.

Allman Family Revival Tribute Tour To Feature The Devon Allman Project, Duane Betts, Maggie Rose, More

Devon Allman  will salute his father, the late Gregg Allman , during the sixth annual  Allman Family Revival tour this fall. The concerts will feature an all-star lineup including The Devon Allman Project , Duane Betts , Maggie Rose , and more.

The Allman Family Revival began as a one-night event on what would have been Gregg’s 70th birthday in 2017. Devon Allman and two dozen other musicians paid tribute to the  Allman Brothers Band  co-founder with a sold-out, three-hour show at The Fillmore  in San Francisco. The tribute soon expanded to a coast-to-coast tour dedicated to keeping the Allman Brothers canon alive.

The Allman Family Revival lineup will feature The Devon Allman Project, Duane Betts, Donavan Frankenreiter , Maggie Rose, Larry McCray , Jimmy Hall , Alex Orbison , and The River Kittens , with Luther and Cody Dickinson  (North Mississippi Allstars), George Porter Jr. , G. Love , Ivan Neville , and Samantha Fish joining on select shows. George Porter Jr. & Runnin’ Pardners , Dumpstaphunk , and The Samantha Fish Band will open on select dates.

The Allman Family Revival tour will kick off in ABB’s hometown of Macon, GA on November 26th. The tour will make four stops in Florida, including Clearwater (11/27), Sarasota (11/28), Pompano Beach (11/29), and Jacksonville (11/30), before heading to New York’s Beacon Theatre , a venue closely associated with ABB , on December 2nd.

Continuing with additional shows in the Northeast, including Boston, MA (12/3) and Torrington, CT (12/4), the Allman Family Revival will then head south for dates in Charlotte, NC (12/6); Durham, NC (12/7); Montgomery, AL (12/8); and Nashville, TN (12/9).

The tour will then travel west to St. Louis, MO (12/10); Denver, CO (12/12); Phoenix, AZ (12/14); and Las Vegas, NV (12/15) before wrapping with West Coast dates in Los Angeles (12/16) and San Francisco (12/17), concluding at The Fillmore, where the Allman Family Revival first began.

The Allman Family Revival initially began as a one-off concert in 2017 at The Fillmore in San Francisco to celebrate the late Gregg Allman’s life on what would have been his 70th birthday. Now in its 7th year, it has since expanded into a full tour that kicks off on November 25 in Saint Louis, MO.  

This year the tour is excited to announce the official rebranding of The Allman Family Revival to the Allman Betts Family Revival. Devon Allman (son of Gregg) and Duane Betts (son of Dickey) have hand picked an array of guests who will perform two sets – one featuring songs by Gregg Allman and one featuring songs by Dickey Betts. Fans will enjoy listening to the hits along with the deep cuts from their legendary Allman Brothers cataloge performed by Anders Osborne, Luther Dickinson & Cody Dickenson (North Mississippi Allstars), Jimmy Hall (Jeff Beck, Wet Willie), Jackie Greene, Larry McCray, Alex Orbison, Ally Venable, Devon Allman, Duane Betts, and The Allman Betts Band featuring Tal Wilkenfeld on Bass (Jeff Beck). There will also be incredible guest artists that will join the tour in select cities including Sierra Hull, G. Love and more to be added.

Dr. Joseph Lozovyy was born into a Christian family in Elektrostal, Moscow Region, and was raised in a pastor’s home. From the age of fifteen, he began actively participating in the music ministry of the Baptist Church in Mytishchi, where his father served as a pastor, and also played in the orchestra of the Central Moscow Baptist Church. From 1989, he participated in various evangelistic events in different cities of Moscow Region and beyond. From 1989 to 1992, as a member of the choir and orchestra “LOGOS,” he participated in evangelistic and charitable concerts, repeatedly performing on the stages of the Moscow State Conservatory, the Bolshoi Theatre, and other concert halls in Russia and abroad. In 1992, his family moved to the United States. In 2007, after completing a full course of spiritual and academic preparation, Joseph moved to Dallas, Texas, to engage in church ministry. In 2008, he founded the Russian Bible Church to preach to the Russian-speaking population living in Dallas, Texas.

We begin our Moscow tour beneath the city, exploring the underground palace of the Moscow Metro. From the Square of Revolution station, famous for its huge statues of soviet people (an armed soldier, a farmer with a rooster, a warrior, and more), we’ll move onto some of the most significant stations, where impressive mosaics, columns, and chandeliers will boggle your eyes! Moreover, these stations reveal a big part of soviet reality — the walls depict plenty of Propaganda , with party leaders looking down from images on the walls. Your local guide will share personal stories of his/her family from USSR times, giving you insight into Russia’s complicated past and present. Then we’re coming back up to street level, where we’ll take a break and refuel with some Russian fast food: traditional pancakes, called bliny. And then, stomachs satiated, we are ready to move forward! We’ll take the eco-friendly electric trolleybus, with a route along the Moscow Garden Ring. Used mainly by Russian babushkas(grannies) during the day, the trolleybus hits peak hours in the mornings and evenings, when many locals use it going to and from their days. Our first stop will be the Aviator’s House, one of Stalin’s Seven Sisters, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — and you’ll hear the legends of what has gone on inside the walls. Throughout your Moscow tour, you’ll learn curious facts from soviet history while seeing how Russia exists now, 25 years after the USSR.

This tour exceeded our expectations. Nikolai (Nick), our tour guide, was very knowledgeable, thorough, and has a great personality. He didn't take shortcuts and really covered everything that was on the agenda in great detail. We saw beautiful metro stations and learned the history behind them, including many of the murals and designs.
