Absolutely dire performance, I was extremely disappointed. In all the years I’ve been attending rock gigs this was the worst, and the first time I’ve ever walked out before the end, although I certainly wasn’t alone. Several people went out at the same time as me - halfway through the fifth song, all saying the same thing. It was terrible. After the hype from Planet Rock, yes you Wyatt, I was really looking forward to this but what a let down.

Awesome! These days when listening to music you wonder to yourself “man.. do they actually sound like that in real life? Can they actually hit that note or is that all auto tuned? Well let me tell you.. Josh does NOT need auto tune holy cow he can hit those notes perfectly mama!! Josh is also a bloody demon on guitar I was just star struck with his playing and Sam damn.. just watch those fingers go.

Great show in Orlando last night.

They sounded as good in concert as they do recorded. This is my 16 yr old sons favorite band, and Iv been recruited. Seen 100s of Rock concerts over the last 35 years, but Iv never heard anything like this lead singers voice. The band doesnt like the comparison to Led Zepplin, but it strikes you immediately in the best way. If you are a Rock fan, do yourself a favor & go see Greta Van Fleet.

Greta Van Fleet share details of the Starcatcher world tour

Greta Van Fleet are set to embark on a lengthy world tour this year in support of their upcoming third new album Starcatcher , which is scheduled to arrive on July 21 on Lava/Republic/EMI Records.

The Michigan four peace will hit the road on July 24 for a show in Nashville, before continuing on through Fort Worth, Houston, Denver, Salt Lake City and more. They'll  also be making stops at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York and The Forum in Los Angeles as well as London’s Wembley Arena before wrapping up on December 6 in Lisbon.

The  Starcatcher World Tour  will feature special guests appearances from Kaleo, Surf Curse, Black Honey and, in the UK and Ireland, Mt. Joy.

Across the summer, GVF will additionally be performing at a handful of festivals, including Altanta's Shaky Knees Festival and Memphis' Beale Street Music Festival. 

Tickets will be available for the Electric Tomb Presale commences from April 19 at 10 AM local time in the U.S. and Europe. 

Additional pre-sales in the U.S. and Europe will become available throughout the week ahead of the general sale on April 21 at 10 AM local time.

So far from the new album, Greta Van Fleet have released the sparkling, folksy single Meeting The Master.

“Meeting The Master peers into an esoteric world heeded by the word of a wise teacher," explain Greta Van Fleet in a statement. "Sung in the voice of a devout believer, and eventual group exclamation, the song details the love these fervent followers have for their teacher and their firm belief in his vision. It’s an exotic spiritual journey. A dark comedy that inevitably ends in chaos."

Greta Van Fleet Announces ‘Starcatcher’ World Tour

Greta Van Fleet has announced a world tour in support of their upcoming album, Starcatcher .

The band will launch the tour on July 24 in Nashville, three days after the album is released. They'll then trek across the U.S., making stops in cities like Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and Boston. On Sept. 23, they'll perform their last stateside date in Cleveland before heading to Europe and the U.K., finally wrapping the tour on Dec. 6 in Lisbon, Portugal. They'll be supported by Kaleo, Surf Curse, Mt. Joy and Black Honey across the run.

You can see a complete list of concert dates below. Tickets will be available beginning April 21.

Starcatcher , which was produced by Dave Cobb and recorded at RCA Studios in Nashville. Greta Van Fleet said the record came easily. "We didn't really have to force or be intense about writing, because everything that happened was very instinctual," guitarist Jake Kiszka said in a previous press release. "If anything, the record is our perspective, and sums up where we are as a group and individually as musicians."

Greta Van Fleet is also slated to support Metallica for two dates on the latter's  world tour , on Sept. 20 and 27 in Mexico City.

Greta Van Fleet have announced a 2023 world tour in support of their forthcoming album Starcatcher , out July 21st.

The North American leg kicks off July 24th in Nashville, just days after the album drops. The band will wrap up the stateside run on September 23rd in Cleveland before hopping the pond for a UK/European leg, kicking off November 6th in Hamburg, Germany. The tour concludes on December 6th in Lisbon, Portugal. Support will be provided by Kaleo, Surf Curse, Mt. Joy, and Black Honey on select dates.

The band’s “Electric Tomb” fan-club pre-sale starts Wednesday (April 19th) at 10 a.m. local time, as do other pre-sales. A Live Nation ticket pre-sale begins Thursday (April 20th) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster using the code VINYL . General ticket sales begin Friday (April 21st) at 10 a.m. local time.

Greta Van Fleet announced their highly anticipated new album, Starcatcher , earlier this month and shared the lead single “Meeting the Master.” The album was recorded in Nashville by the band and Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb (Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell) over sessions that guitarist Jake Kiszka described in a statement as “very instinctual.”

The tour, produced by Live Nation, includes stops at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York and The Forum in Los Angeles as well as London ’s OVO Arena Wembley and more; see below for a complete list of dates.

Greta Van Fleet will also be touring throughout Europe, starting in Hamburg, Germany on November 6 with further international stops in Paris , Madrid , Amsterdam and more.

The album is written and recorded by the band—lead singer Josh Kiszka , guitarist Jake Kiszka , bassist/keyboardist Sam Kiszka and drummer Danny Wagner —alongside Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile). Recorded at the legendary RCA Studios in Nashville, the band utilized the large recording room to capture the pure energy of their world-renowned live performances. 

“We didn’t really have to force or be intense about writing, because everything that happened was very instinctual,” Jake says. “If anything, the record is our perspective, and sums up where we are as a group and individually as musicians.” 

Throughout the ten-song collection the band explores the duality of fantasy versus reality and the contrast between light and darkness. “We had this idea that we wanted to tell these stories to build a universe,” says Wagner. “We wanted to introduce characters and motifs and these ideas that would come about here and there throughout our careers through this world.” 

The band took multiple concepts from critically acclaimed sophomore album The Battle at Garden’s Gate and brought them into Starcatcher , although Sam’s take on the new record’s big ideas hint instead at new beginnings. “When I imagine the world of Starcatcher , I think of the cosmos,” he says. “It makes me ask a lot of questions, like ‘Where did we come from?’ or ‘What are we doing here?’ But it’s also questions like, ‘What is this consciousness that we have, and where did it come from?’” 

The band is best known for their renowned live performances, selling over one million tickets worldwide. They sold out their entire 2022 arena tour, holding a special energy between them and their devoted fans. With Starcatcher the band aims to capture that energy in the recording studio. 

Most recently, the band performed at the inaugural Lollapalooza Mumbai and completed an extensive U.S. arena tour in March. Greta Van Fleet returns to the road next month for the Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta and Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis.  

Starcatcher follows their acclaimed sophomore album The Battle at Garden’s Gate , released in 2021 to extensive chart and critical success. The album debuted at #1 Billboard Rock Album , #1 Billboard Hard Rock Album , #1 Billboard Vinyl Album , #2 Billboard Top Album Sales and in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 . Their From The Fires EP, released in 2017, won Best Rock Album at the 61 st Grammy Awards .

CONCERT REVIEW: Greta Van Fleet Give Banging Performance In The Netherlands

Greta Van Fleet returned to the Netherlands a year after their last appearance, performing at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. As one of the Netherlands’ bigger venues, the Ziggo Dome can hold up to 17,000 people, making it a highly anticipated concert for the fans.

The evening kicked off with the opening acts, Hannah Wicklund and Mt Joy . When Hannah Wicklund took the stage, the venue was relatively empty. However, as the lights dimmed and the first notes resonated throughout the venue, it was a nice first warming-up of the evening. Although their set was short, it provided a pleasant start to the concert.

Next up was Mt Joy , and by this point, the room had started to fill up. While the venue wasn’t completely full yet, there were certainly more people present. They had the opportunity to play for a little longer as the room slowly kept filling up. By the time they finished their set, the venue was almost full, setting the stage for Greta Van Fleet .

Finally, it was time for Greta Van Fleet to take the stage and entertain the crowd. Their entrance was met with a bang, accompanied by fireworks on the stage. The first moments were a sensory explosion, with the music turned up to a volume that required hearing protection for many attendees. While concerts are often loud, this one was particularly intense.

Greta Van Fleet also showcased their musical talent through impressive solos. These solos were a highlight of the performance, allowing the band to demonstrate their musical prowess. At one point, they even moved to a secondary stage for a few acoustic songs, providing a nice change of pace. Afterward, they returned to the main stage to finish their set.

Overall, attending a Greta Van Fleet concert is highly recommended for fans of their music. They deliver a powerful and entertaining performance, showcasing their musical abilities and creating an electrifying atmosphere. If you’re a fan, it’s an experience worth checking out. Greta Van Fleet Announce 2022 Tour Dates

Greta Van Fleet have announced a batch of 2022 tour dates. After booking a minimal run of shows for 2021, it looks like the band will stay busy in 2022 as they tour North America, South America and Europe.

Greta Van Fleet will be touring in support of their sophomore album, The Battle at Garden’s Gate , which debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 earlier this year. “There was a lot of self-evolution happening during the writing of this album that was prompted by experiences I had, experiences we all had,” explains vocalist Josh Kiszka. “It’s reflecting a lot of the world that we’ve seen, and I think that it’s reflecting a lot of personal truth,” guitarist Jake Kiszka adds.

The band will begin their North American touring cycle in their home state of Michigan on March 10 and run throughout the northeast and midwest until April 2. They’ll head to Brazil and Mexico in May, followed by some European dates in June.

Pre-sale tickets will become available Nov. 10 at 10AM local time, while tickets will go on sale for the general public on Nov. 12 at 10AM local time. Check out the full list of dates below.

Greta Van Fleet announce November 2023 UK & Ireland tour

They're playing four arenas

Frankenmuth classic rock revivalists Greta Van Fleet have lined up a four-date UK & Ireland arena tour for November 2023.

Part of the European leg of the band’s Starcatcher World Tour, which kicks off in Nashville in July, Greta Van Fleet play London OVO Arena Wembley, Dublin 3Arena, Manchester AO Hydro and Glasgow OVO Hydro. Support at all four shows come from Los Angeles indie rockers Mt. Joy.

Tickets to the UK dates go on sale from Planet Rock Tickets at 10am on Friday 21st April 2023.

The Starcatcher World Tour follows the Friday 21st July release of Greta Van Fleet’s new studio album ‘Starcatcher.’

The 10-track album feature the recently premiered lead single ‘Meeting the Master’. The band says of the track: “‘Meeting The Master’ peers into an esoteric world heeded by the word of a wise teacher.

“Sung in the voice of a devout believer, and eventual group exclamation, the song details the love these fervent followers have for their teacher and their firm belief in his vision. It’s an exotic spiritual journey. A dark comedy that inevitably ends in chaos.”

‘Starcatcher’ is written and recorded by Greta Van Fleet - lead singer Josh Kizska, guitarist Jake Kizska, bassist/keyboardist Sam Kizska and drummer Danny Wagner - alongside Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile).

A concept album of sorts, ‘Starcatcher’ explores the duality of fantasy versus reality and the contrast between light and darkness.

“We had this idea that we wanted to tell these stories to build a universe,” says Danny Wagner. “We wanted to introduce characters and motifs and these ideas that would come about here and there throughout our careers through this world.”

Sam Kizska says: “When I imagine the world of Starcatcher, I think of the cosmos. It makes me ask a lot of questions, like ‘Where did we come from?’ or ‘What are we doing here?’ But it’s also questions like, ‘What is this consciousness that we have, and where did it come from?’”

Southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd are named after high school gym teacher Leonard Skinner who taught Ronnie Van Zant, Gary Rossington, and Bob Burns at Robert E. Lee High School in Florida in the 1960s. With Ian Anderson struggling to settle on a name for his band in the late 1960s (names included Navy Blue, Ian Henderson's Bag o' Nails, and Candy Coloured Rain), a member of the band's booking agent's staff christened them Jethro Tull after the 18th-century agriculturist.

In 1967 the band toyed with renaming themselves Muddy Rabbit, Gossamer Wump, and Creedence Nuball and the Ruby, however they settled on Creedence Clearwater Revival with the 'Creedence' a nod towards guitarist Tom Fogerty's friend Credence Newball.

Crazy Horse

Formerly known as The Rockets, the American band became known as Crazy Horse in 1969 when they first teamed up with Neil Young. The band was named after the 19th Century Sioux Tribe leader Crazy Horse.

Billy Gibbons took direct inspiration from blues artists BB King and ZZ Hill as he liked the way the initials sounded in their stage names. He was initially going to call his band ZZ King but became concerned it sounded to similar to the original artist. Gibbons ultimately settled on ZZ Top as he remarked the "king is at the top."

The retrogressive rockers are named after a bluegrass musician called Gretna VanFleet, who hails from their home town of Frankenmuth, Michigan. Although Greta Van Fleet didn't initially ask her for permission, the 93-year-old subsequently gave them her blessing.

Leicester indie rockers Kasabian take their name from Linda Kasabian who was a member of Charles Manson's cult, the Manson Family, in the late 1960s and 1970s. Linda Kasabian was present at both the Tate and LaBianca murders committed by the cult in 1969, but received immunity for her testimony as a key witness in the trial of Manson.

Scottish indie rockers Franz Ferdinand are named after Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria whose assassination in Sarajevo in June 1914 sparked World War I.

Dead Kennedys

The politicised punk rockers' somewhat controversial name references the deceased members of the Kennedy family, including the assassinated President John F. Kennedy. Guitarist East Bay Ray said they weren't trying to insult the Kennedys. "The assassinations were in much more poor taste than our band," he argued. "We actually respect the Kennedy family. When JFK was assassinated, when Martin Luther King was assassinated, when RFK was assassinated, the American Dream was assassinated. Our name is actually homage to the American Dream."

He explained in 1999: "My brother Jim beat up my younger brother Ed, and Jim ran into his room and locked his door, and Ed drew this picture that said 'Jimmy Eat World', and it was a picture of him eating the world. My brother Jim is kind of a big guy. A stupid name."

Melvins are named after a man called Melvin who was frontman Buzz Osborne's supervisor when he worked at a supermarket in Montesano, Washington. The real Melvin was widely disliked by staff and Osborne thought it would be a gloriously ridiculous name for his band.

James Gang are named after the 19th-century gang of American outlaws led by Jesse James. The band's final album 'Jesse Comes Home' references Jesse James and the artwork features a painting of the folk hero riding off into the sunset.

GRETA VAN FLEET Announces Dates For ‘Starcatcher World Tour’

In celebration of their much anticipated forthcoming third studio album Starcatcher —due July 21 on Lava/Republic Records —Grammy-winning rock band Greta Van Fleet are set to kick off their Starcatcher World Tour July 24 in Nashville at the Bridgestone Arena . The tour, produced by Live Nation, includes stops at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York and The Forum in Los Angeles as well as London ’s OVO Arena Wembley and more; see below for a complete list of dates.

Tickets will be available for the Electric Tomb Presale beginning Wednesday, April 19 at 10 AM local time in the U.S. and Europe. Additional presales in the U.S. and Europe will be available throughout the week ahead of the general onsale starting Friday, April 21 at 10 AM local time. The Starcatcher World Tour will include support from special guests Kaleo , Surf Curse , Mt. Joy and Black Honey .

Greta Van Fleet will also be touring throughout Europe, starting in Hamburg, Germany on November 6 with further international stops in Paris , Madrid , Amsterdam and more.

The album’s first single “ Meeting The Master ” is out now to extensive critical acclaim; Consequence raves that the song “[digs] deeper into their mythical lore by revisiting concepts from their previous work,” while Uproxx notes that “‘Meeting the Master’ [is] an existential new single on which lead vocalist Josh Kiszka embarks on a spiritual journey.” Jambase adds, “the song develops from a beautiful acoustic-tinged number into a bombastic rocker.”Listen/share the song  HERE and pre-save/pre-order the record HERE .

The album is written and recorded by the band—lead singer Josh Kiszka , guitarist Jake Kiszka , bassist/keyboardist Sam Kiszka and drummer Danny Wagner —alongside Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile). Recorded at the legendary RCA Studios in Nashville, the band utilized the large recording room to capture the pure energy of their world-renowned live performances.

“We didn’t really have to force or be intense about writing, because everything that happened was very instinctual,” Jake says. “If anything, the record is our perspective, and sums up where we are as a group and individually as musicians.”

Throughout the ten-song collection the band explores the duality of fantasy versus reality and the contrast between light and darkness. “We had this idea that we wanted to tell these stories to build a universe,” says Wagner. “We wanted to introduce characters and motifs and these ideas that would come about here and there throughout our careers through this world.”

The band took multiple concepts from critically acclaimed sophomore album The Battle at Garden’s Gate and brought them into Starcatcher , although Sam’s take on the new record’s big ideas hint instead at new beginnings. “When I imagine the world of Starcatcher , I think of the cosmos,” he says. “It makes me ask a lot of questions, like ‘Where did we come from?’ or ‘What are we doing here?’ But it’s also questions like, ‘What is this consciousness that we have, and where did it come from?’”

The band is best known for their renowned live performances, selling over one million tickets worldwide. They sold out their entire 2022 arena tour, holding a special energy between them and their devoted fans. With Starcatcher the band aims to capture that energy in the recording studio.

Most recently, the band performed at the inaugural Lollapalooza Mumbai and completed an extensive U.S. arena tour in March. Greta Van Fleet returns to the road next month for the Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta and Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis.

Starcatcher follows their acclaimed sophomore album The Battle at Garden’s Gate , released in 2021 to extensive chart and critical success. The album debuted at #1 Billboard Rock Album , #1 Billboard Hard Rock Album , #1 Billboard Vinyl Album , #2 Billboard Top Album Sales and in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 . Their From The Fires EP, released in 2017, won Best Rock Album at the 61 st Grammy Awards .

Forming in Frankenmuth, Michigan in 2012, Greta Van Fleet consists of three brothers—vocalist Josh Kiszka, guitarist Jake Kiszka and bassist/keyboardist Sam Kiszka—as well as drummer Danny Wagner. Together they have performed across multiple continents, sold over 3.5 million records worldwide and performed on late night television shows such as “Saturday Night Live,” “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

The Dreams In Gold tour hits over here in June…

Greta Van Fleet have announced a run of dates in the UK and Ireland as part of their The Dreams In Gold Tour. In support of their The Battle At Garden’s Gate album released in April, The Michigan rockers will be doing their biggest ever shoes over here, including a date at London’s massive Alexandra Palace.

Having been on tour since they were teenagers, the pause over the past 18 months took some getting used to for the band. So much so that they realised they didn’t actually know how to do much else.

“We did [this] straight out of high school, essentially,” bassist Sam Kiszka told Kerrang! . ​“We lived in this giant above-ground submarine with wheels going down the highway, staying at hotels. And then the time came for us to hang our hat for the first time ever, and we’re like, ​‘What do we do?’ It’s not so easy. I’m not seasoned in this this way of life. I’m not sure what to do.”

Discussing the album, singer Josh Kiszka explained how deep the ideas behind the lyrics went.

“It’s a lot of playing with the human experience,” he told us. ​“There’s a lot of beauty and wonder, there’s a lot of pain and sorrow. There’s a lot of themes of war, which touch a great deal on that sincere sort of grief. And it’s sort of amazing that [war] really has been a prevalent theme since the advent of man. There’s wars of religion, wars of industry, industries of war – it just keeps going. But it’s sort of viewing the Garden’s Gate as what’s left of the natural world, and then there’s everything that threatens that natural world through this industry. And of course, there’s the impression humans have had in building civilisations, and, of course, tearing things down and building things out.

“We’re just stardust and carbon,” he continued. ​“And we continue to just sort of waltz through time. And nothing is good or bad – it’s all just what it is. And that’s the lackadaisical spiritualism of that song. And there is a lot of Eastern philosophy implemented into that track. It’s like a very bizarre psychedelic parade that’s just sort of dissolving into the sky.”
