MOT hopes My50 initiative will be extended in Budget 2025

KUALA LUMPUR : The Ministry of Transport hopes the My50 initiative will be continued next year through the 2025 Budget, which will be presented in October.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke highlighted the importance of the initiative, particularly in the Klang Valley, as it facilitates affordable public transport for users and helps alleviate traffic congestion.

“We’ve seen a significant increase in allocations, such as the My50 initiative, which was raised from RM100 million to RM200 million in last year’s budget. I hope this initiative will be sustained next year,“ Loke said.

He also expressed pride in the rising number of My50 users, which now exceeds 200,000 per month.

“Rail users in the Klang Valley now average nearly 900,000 daily, and when combined with bus services, we see over 1.1 million riders each day,“ he said during a press conference after the Signing Ceremony of the Parking Space Sale Agreement between Malaysia Rapid Transit System (MRTS) and Coronade Properties Sdn Bhd.

Loke emphasised the need for ongoing efforts to enhance the public transportation system, aiming to increase accessibility for more city residents, particularly in the Klang Valley

He said improvements are still required to address traffic congestion issues in the Klang Valley.

“I hope the Ministry of Finance will consider the various initiatives and projects we have proposed,“ he said.

The My50 initiative offers an unlimited travel pass for RM50 per month, providing access to rail and bus services operated by Prasarana in the Klang Valley.

1) RATES, PRICES AND VALIDITY

1.1 Currency All rates are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR), unless otherwise specified.

1.2 Conversion Rates Please refer to Travel Hub Sdn Bhd when making payment for the prevailing market rate.

1.3 Change of Exchange Rates Should the Malaysian government change its foreign exchange system, Travel Hub Sdn Bhd reserves the right to change the conversion rate on section 1.1 correspondingly.

1.4 Change of Prices All rates quoted are correct at the time we issued the booking confirmation or invoice. All quoted rates are subject to change without notice and may be increased at any time prior to confirmation by Travel Hub Sdn Bhd at its sole discretion. The rates quoted are subject to change due to increases in airfares, petrol, other transportation costs, hotel rates, exchange rates, government taxes, etc. Therefore, Travel Hub Sdn Bhd reserves the right to increase prices, provided it informs the customers accordingly before the confirmation of the tour. If a service provider increases its prices to Travel Hub Sdn Bhd during the course of this contract, Travel Hub Sdn Bhd reserves the right to increase the prices under this contract.

1.5  Government Taxes Rates quoted are subject to any taxes, duties, or levies in any form imposed by the Government of Malaysia from time to time.

1.6 Payment Methods Travel Hub Sdn Bhd accepts Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, bank online payments, and remittance transfers directly to its bank account. Cheque payments will be subject to bank clearance before the service date. Travel Hub Sdn Bhd will not bear the charges of the banks involved in the transfer of the payment. Once reservations have been confirmed, we will provide our company bank account details, enabling you to make a bank transfer and email us the bank-in slip for reference. Payment is required to secure a reservation.

2) VEHICLE RENTAL RATE 2.1 Vehicle Rental Rate Includes Items and services included for each coach rental are listed in their respective sections. Coach rental rates include fuel, driver services, toll, and parking unless otherwise specified.

2.2 Vehicle Rental Rate Does Not Include Tips to porters, bellmen, local guides, entrance fees, hotel charges, meals (unless specified in the quote or invoice), extra hours, early transfers, midnight transfer surcharges, waiting hours, peak season charges, and any other items not specifically mentioned as included will be borne by the client directly.

2.3 Vehicle Request Policy Travel Hub Sdn Bhd reserves the right to upgrade a vehicle request to accommodate a client’s reservation at no charge to the client if deemed necessary by Travel Hub Sdn Bhd.

3) TOUR INFORMATION 3.1 Tour’s Itinerary The outlined itineraries are statements of intent rather than promises. Local conditions – weather, natural events, traffic, festivals, or other uncontrollable factors – can necessitate changes in the tour itinerary. We reserve the right to change any of the listed services and, if necessary, even modify the itinerary itself at short notice. Where this happens, the tour leader/guide/driver will decide the best alternative. The company will substitute arrangements of similar standard, should it occur. However, no refunds will be available.

3.2 Closures We will not be held responsible for any closures or curtailments due to circumstances beyond our control. No refunds are provided for route/program variations.

3.4 Photographs The tour descriptions include pictures and activities which may be seen during the excursions, but there is no guarantee of sightings due to factors beyond our control, such as inclement weather.

3.5 Lost & Damage Travel Hub Sdn Bhd and its affiliates are not responsible or liable for items left in the vehicle or for any loss of or damage to baggage or personal belongings during the tour. Travel Hub Sdn Bhd reserves the right to charge a delivery fee for returning lost items if found. The company and its affiliates shall be exempt from liability for loss, injury, or damage to property, personal accidents, delays, irregularities, or occurrences beyond our control. Travel Hub Sdn Bhd affiliates and their chauffeurs will assist with luggage at a client’s request but assume no liability for doing so.

4) CANCELLATIONS, PARTIAL CANCELLATIONS, “NO SHOW” AND AMENDMENTS CHARGES 4.1 Service Providers Service providers such as hotels, carriers, restaurant contractors, or any other companies related to the services provided may charge cancellation, amendment, and/or no-show fees depending on the situation and/or circumstances. When they levy such charges, these charges will be billed to the agent through Travel Hub Sdn Bhd. Travel Hub Sdn Bhd cannot be held responsible for charges incurred due to unforeseen circumstances.

4.2 Cancellation Charges In the event of a confirmed booking being cancelled/partially cancelled, a cancellation charge will be levied. Any cancellation received will incur the following cancellation charges: – Vehicle Cancellation Rate in  Malaysia:

4.3 Waiting Time Travel Hub Sdn Bhd provides up to 45 minutes of free wait time (up to 60 minutes for international arrivals requiring customs clearance) on each airport arrival transfer for you to deplane and pick up your luggage. If you do not meet your chauffeur or call us within 45 minutes (60 minutes for international arrivals requiring customs clearance) of your plane landing, we will consider you a “no-show” and you will be charged in full for the reservation. To avoid being charged as a no-show, do not leave your location without contacting Travel Hub Sdn Bhd by phone.

4.4 “No Show” On all reservations, you will be considered a no-show after the free wait time has elapsed. If you have not met your chauffeur or contacted us by phone, you will be charged in full for the reservation. In the event a client is a “no-show,” no refund in full or in part will be given for services which are not utilized. To avoid being charged as a no-show, do not leave your location without contacting Travel Hub Sdn Bhd by phone.

4.5 Change Policy Travel Hub Sdn Bhd requires that all changes be received by phone or email (changes cannot be made with drivers) at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled service time. If a change cannot be accommodated and results in a cancellation, you will be charged in full for the order.

5) CANCELLATION PROCEDURES 5.1 Notification of Cancellation Travel Hub Sdn Bhd must be notified in writing of any cancellation by electronic mail. A notice is only considered to have been served provided that an acknowledgment and acceptance by Travel Hub Sdn Bhd is obtained.

6) REFUNDS 6.1 No Refund Policy No refund, in full or in part, will be given for services included in the program that are not utilized.

7) RESPONSIBILITY 7.1 Travel Hub Sdn Bhd as an Agent Travel Hub Sdn Bhd acts only as an agent for transportation companies, hotels, car rentals, and all other contractors/suppliers and finalizes all arrangements upon the expressed condition that it shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident, inadvertent errors in booking, delays generally, or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of any defect in any vehicle, vessel, or aircraft or through the acts or defaults of any company or person engaged in conveying or accommodating passengers or in the carrying out of arrangements of the ground content, tours, or otherwise in connection with its operations. To protect you and Travel Hub Sdn Bhd, we require all clients to be adequately insured against the above-mentioned liabilities

7.2 Additional Expenses Travel Hub Sdn Bhd and its affiliates are not responsible for any additional expenses incurred by the client(s) as a result of causes over which it has no control, such as war, civil disturbance, traffic conditions (traffic congestion, road closures, accidents), flight delays, weather delays, acts of God or Mother Nature, government actions, broken machinery of vehicle or equipment required as part of the client(s)’ itinerary, or unavoidable events that cause the client(s)’ itinerary to be unenforceable.

7.3 Descriptions and Conditions Descriptions and conditions on the website are correct. Travel Hub Sdn Bhd reserves the right to alter itineraries and/or substitute services with or without prior notice as a result of circumstances beyond our control or if it is deemed to be in the best interests of all parties concerned.

7.4 Enforceability Upon execution by each party, this website shall become binding and enforceable according to its terms. If more than one party is obligated by any terms stated on this website, those parties shall be jointly and severally liable for the performance of those obligations.

7.5 Governing Law The terms and conditions here shall be interpreted in accordance with the law of Malaysia as that law is construed and amended from time to time. Any action in connection herewith shall be brought in the Malaysian court having jurisdiction.

8) AFFILIATE SERVICE POLICY 8.1 Use of Affiliates Travel Hub Sdn Bhd utilizes, at its discretion, affiliates to provide limousine and ground transportation services as requested by our clients.

9) SEVERABILITY 9.1 Severability Clause Any term, condition, stipulation, provision, covenant, or undertaking in these general terms and conditions which is illegal, void, prohibited or unenforceable shall be ineffective only to the extent of such illegality, voidness, prohibition or unenforceability without invalidating the whole such term, condition, stipulation, provision, covenant or undertaking or affecting the validity or enforceability thereof. Maxis partners IJM Perennial and GlobalComm to deliver integrated connectivity and smart city solutions to Penang’s latest iconic waterfront development

In a statement, Maxis said it will also collaborate with IJM Perennial and GlobalComm to develop smart city solutions powered by 5G-Advanced and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.

“These innovations will equip The Light City to be a future-ready development for its residents and businesses.”

Maxis chief executive officer Goh Seow Eng said the partnership will provide mobile and fixed connectivity, as well as solutions powered by 5G-Advanced and Internet of Things (IoT) technology for this future-ready smart city project.

“As Malaysia’s leading integrated telco, we are committed to providing fast, secure, and reliable connectivity.

“Our partnership positions The Light City at the forefront of technology, facilitating the adoption of innovative applications and services, and enhancing the overall living and working experience for the residents and businesses of this iconic development.”

IJM Corp group chief executive officer and managing director Lee Chun Fai said The Light City reflects the group’s commitment to thoughtful urban development that meets the evolving needs of our community.

“By partnering with Maxis and GlobalComm Telecommunications, we are equipping The Light City with essential 5G-ready infrastructure, ensuring robust connectivity that not only strengthens its position as a hub for business and leisure but also future-proofs the state’s digital infrastructure and aligns with the government’s digitalisation objectives.”

Meanwhile, GlobalComm Telecommunications Sdn Bhd managing director Stuart Kang said the partnership reinforced the company’s commitment to providing comprehensive connectivity solutions, catering to the diverse information and communications technology requirements of communities and development projects in the country.

Slated for phased completion starting in the first quarter of 2025, The Light City will feature Penang’s largest convention centre, the state’s biggest waterfront mall, international hotels, commercial and office towers, and luxury high-rise residences.

“The Light City is poised to be one of the catalysts for Penang’s economic growth, attracting both domestic and international visitors,” said Maxis.
