The food and drink options offered in Lufthansa Lounges and partner lounges will vary significantly based on the type of lounge. For example, those visiting a United Club will likely have considerably fewer food and beverage options than, say, a Lufthansa First Class Lounge, which offers a plated preflight meal service, premium cocktails, and Champagne.

With that said, all locations will offer some complimentary food and drink options along with a range of beers, liquors, spirits, non-alcoholic drinks, and sodas.

Which Lufthansa Lounge you can access can be confusing, but it all comes down to what cabin class you’re flying and what status level with Lufthansa or Star Alliance .

Lufthansa or SWISS First Class Passengers

If you have a first class boarding pass for Lufthansa or SWISS Air, you can access any Lufthansa Lounge available, including the First Class Lounge in New York (JFK).

Star Alliance First Class Passengers

Passengers with a first class ticket on any Star Alliance carrier (besides Lufthansa and SWISS) can access any Lufthansa Lounges except for First Class Lounges.

Miles & More HON Circle Members

Frequent Lufthansa flyers with the invitation-only HON Circle status in the Miles & More program can access all Lufthansa Lounges, including First Class Lounges, as long as they have a boarding pass for a Lufthansa, Star Alliance, or codeshare partner flight in any cabin class.

Miles & More Senator Members

Lufthansa flyers with Senator status in the Miles & More program can access all Lufthansa Lounges, except First Class Lounges, as long as they have a boarding pass for a Lufthansa or Star Alliance partner flight in any cabin class.

Star Alliance Gold Status

Those with Star Alliance Gold status, offered with United Gold status and above, can access all Lufthansa Lounges, except First Class Lounges, as long as they have a boarding pass for a Lufthansa or Star Alliance partner flight in any cabin class. Elite members may bring in 1 guest traveling on the same flight.

Lufthansa or Star Alliance Business Class Ticket

Passengers with a business class ticket for Lufthansa or one of its Star Alliance partners can access all Lufthansa Business Lounges, but they cannot access First Class or Senator Lounges.

Eligible American Express Cardholders

Travelers with the Amex Platinum card or the Amex Business Platinum card can access Lufthansa Business Lounges, regardless of their ticket class, and Lufthansa Senator Lounges (only when flying Lufthansa business class).

Regardless of ticket class, those with a Centurion card  can access Lufthansa First Class, Senator, and Business Lounges.

Admission rules for each Lufthansa partner lounges are much less complicated, but there are still a few rules you should be aware of.

Star Alliance Partner First Class Lounge

The only passengers eligible to access a Star Alliance partner first class lounge are those with a first class boarding pass for a Lufthansa or Star Alliance partner flight.

Eligibility rules for Star Alliance business class lounges are much less strict. The lounges can be accessed by any passengers with a business or first class boarding pass for a Lufthansa or Star Alliance partner flight, travelers with Star Alliance Gold status (regardless of cabin class), and travelers with Miles & More Senator or HON Circle status (regardless of cabin class).

United Club Membership

Many Lufthansa partner lounges are United Club lounges offered by its Star Alliance partner, United Airlines. There are 3 ways that you can gain access to United Clubs:

• Purchase a yearly United Club membership, which will set you back $650 or 85,000 United miles, though we do not advise the latter as it would be an extremely poor use of miles. You can also purchase day passes for $59.
• The United Club℠ Infinite Card has a $525 annual fee and includes a yearly membership to all United Clubs. So it is already a much better deal than purchasing the lounge membership outright. The United Club card also offers 2 free checked bags on all United flights to further extend your savings.
• Those with United/ Star Alliance Gold status via the United Airlines MileagePlus loyalty program can access United Club lounges on international flights operated by a Star Alliance member airline. Keep in mind that this option only covers international flights, whereas the first 2 cover domestic trips as well.

Hot Tip:  If you’re hoping to access a United Polaris lounge, none of these 3 options will gain you entry. The only way to access a United Polaris lounge is with a boarding pass for United Polaris or a Star Alliance partner first or business class ticket.

Priority Pass

The 3 “The Club” locations (ATL, CLT, and SEA) can be visited by those with a Priority Pass membership .

The easiest way to get a membership is a credit card with Priority Pass which provides it as a perk for being a cardholder.

If you receive a Priority Pass Select membership through your credit card, you will need to enroll in the Priority Pass program to utilize your benefits. Do not forget this crucial step! If you do not enroll first, you will not be permitted to enter the lounge.

Lufthansa/Star Alliance Elite Status

If you hold Lufthansa Senator status or Star Alliance Gold status and above, you can access every Lufthansa partner lounge, except for the United Polaris lounge in San Francisco (SFO).

Like your own lounge access, the number of guests you can bring into a Lufthansa or Lufthansa partner lounge with you depends on your ticket type or status level with Lufthansa. For the most part, you will likely be able to bring at least 1 guest into the lounge with you, with a few exceptions.

If you’re visiting a Lufthansa Lounge via a Lufthansa or SWISS first class ticket or are a Miles & More HON Circle member, you can bring your spouse and children under 18 years old and 1 guest.

Miles & More Senator members visiting a Lufthansa Lounge can bring in any children under 18 years old, in addition to 1 guest.

Those traveling with a Lufthansa/Star Alliance business class ticket are not permitted to bring any guests into Lufthansa Lounges or its partner lounges.

Finally, the policy for guests for eligible Amex cardholders is a bit murky — entry will be subject to the terms and conditions of the lounge.

Hot Tip:  If you’re planning to visit one of the Lufthansa partner lounges that you receive access to via a Priority Pass or United Club membership, you likely can bring in more than 1 guest, depending on how you earned the membership. 

Lufthansa Lounges can offer an exceptional experience to passengers traveling with the airline, especially those lucky enough to visit a First Class or Senator Lounge, which offers excellent food and drinks and an elevated service experience. But no matter which lounge you visit, there’ll be great food and drink options and a place to kick back and relax while you wait for your flight.

Review: Lufthansa Welcome Lounge Frankfurt

I reviewed the lufthansa welcome lounge in frankfurt  five years ago and it has not changed much. that’s a testament to the endearing quality of lufthansa..

Upon arrival into the lounge, your boarding pass is checked. If you choose, you can store your checked bags in a backroom and there are lockers for carry-on bags. As the lounge gets busy, you can also add your name to the shower queue upon arrival. Typically, though, the lounge is not crowded and you will be given a shower number and can use it as your leisure.

Lufthansa Welcome Lounge Showers

Showers are downstairs. You can choose to wait in a spa-like waiting area for your shower to become available, but your name will be paged if you are sitting upstairs. The shower rooms are simple and compact, with a toilet, sink, and shower. Water pressure is sufficient and the temperature warm.

Lufthansa Welcome Lounge Food

A full breakfast spread is available that exceeds what you will find in a Lufthansa Business or even Senator Lounge. In addition to staple German breakfast items like cold cuts, muesli, and various breads you can find scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and typically a speciality item like French Toast or pancakes. Fresh orange juice, coffee, and various other alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks are available.

Lufthansa Welcome Lounge Amenities

The lounge has ample seating with many plugs. A converter is not needed: there are receptacles for American, British, and European-style plugs.

A work area features a few desktop computers with printing capability and some empty desks for your laptop.

Smoking is permitted in a designated room. A sleeping room is also available with a trio of easy chairs.

Bathrooms are also available upstairs.

The Lufthansa Welcome Lounge in Frankfurt is a great way to start your day. While intended for passengers terminating their journey in Frankfurt, if your layover is long enough this is actually a nicer lounge than even the Senator Lounges and rarely as crowded. Whenever I travel to Frankfurt, I now sleep through breakfast service because I know I can eat and shower upon landing.

Great read! I’ll have to keep that in mind when I fly through FRA. I usually fly though MUC or ZRH though. I couldn’t find the arrival lounges at either airport. Probably because I didn’t want to lose time from short layovers.

The lasttime I tried to use the Lufthansa arrivals lounge at Frankfurt, I was travelling Business Class. But they simply refused to let me in with my luggage. They said they have no stoarge facility available and that I would have to leave my bag at the Left luggage counter. I found this annoying and gave up the idea of using the lounge. In the next few months, I will be travelling Lufthansa First Class. Do you think this time they will let my bag inside into their bag storage room. It is quite frustrationg if the lounge does not allow any bags inside. Can you please advise what is a good idea?

Hinweis : Miles & More hat Anfang 2024 ein neues Statusprogramm eingeführt. Bis Ende 2023 wurden Statusmeilen bei Miles & More basierend auf der Flugentfernung und Buchungsklasse vergeben. Dieses System wurde abgeschafft. Seit Januar 2024 gilt ein neues System, das abhängig von der Reiseklasse und der Unterscheidung in kontinentale und interkontinentale Flüge jedem Flug eine bestimmte Anzahl an sogenannten Statuspunkten zuordnet. Die Möglichkeit sich einen Status über eine bestimmte Anzahl an Segmenten zu erfliegen entfällt.

Die Miles & More Frequent Traveller Status Vorteile erklärt

Da es sich beim Miles & More Frequent Traveller Status um den niedrigsten Status bei Miles & More handelt (es folgen Miles & More Senator und HON Circle Status), sind die Vorteile dementsprechend beschränkt. Dennoch ist der Status aufgrund seiner vergleichsweise einfachen Erreichbarkeit (mehr dazu unten) stark verbreitet und wird von vielen Miles & More Teilnehmern angestrebt. Das lohnt sich nicht immer, in vielen Fällen sollte man lieber den Star Alliance Gold Status in einem anderen Vielfliegerprogramm anstreben. Doch schauen wir uns zunächst kritisch alle Miles & More Frequent Traveller Status Vorteile an.

Vorteil #1] Kostenloser Business Lounge Zugang

Der wichtigste Grund einen Status anzustreben, dürfte für die meisten Vielflieger der kostenlose Lounge Zugang sein. Mit dem Miles and More Frequent Traveller Status genießt ihr an erster Stelle natürlich kostenlosen Zugang zu den Business Lounges von Lufthansa, Austrian und SWISS. Hinzu kommen noch die Lufthansa Welcome Lounge in Frankfurt, die Swiss Arrival Lounge in Zürich sowie die Business Lounges von LOT und Brussels Airlines. Außen vor sind mit dem Frequent Traveller Status allein allerdings die Senator Lounges von Lufthansa/Swiss/Austrian und auch alle Star Alliance Partnerlounges.

Im Gegensatz zu Senator Statusinhabern dürft ihr als Frequent Traveller keine Begleitung mit in die Lounge mitnehmen. Auch Kinder unter 18 Jahren dürfen nicht kostenlos mit in die Lounge genommen werden. Allerdings kann der Zugang für einen Gast oder auch Kind käuflich erworben werden. Vorteil #2] Unbegrenzte Gültigkeit von Prämienmeilen

Der sonst übliche Verfall von Miles & More Prämienmeilen wird für Lufthansa Frequent Traveller Status ausgesetzt. Dies ist sonst nur mit einer Miles & More Gold Kreditkarte oder Miles & More Blue Kreditkarte möglich. Habt ihr den Status erstmal erreicht wird der Schutz sofort aktiv und gilt für alle Meilen auf dem Konto – unabhängig davon wann diese gesammelt wurden. Solltet ihr euren Miles & More Senator Status verlieren, unterliegen eure Meilen natürlich prinzipiell wieder dem regulären Miles & More Meilenverfall. Als Frequent Traveller erhaltet ihr zusätzliches Gepäck auf Flügen der Miles & More Airlines. Im Gegensatz zum Miles & More Senator Status erhaltet ihr kein zusätzliches Freigepäck auf Star Alliance Flügen, da der Frequent Traveller im Gegensatz zum Senator Status nicht dem Star Alliance Gold Status entspricht. Das Konzept ist etwas kompliziert. Bei Flügen mit Austrian Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Lufthansa, Lufthansa Private Jet, Luxair und SWISS erhaltet ihr:

• In der Economy: 2 Gepäckstücke bis zu je 23 kg

Als Frequent Traveller kann man die Miles & More Frequent Traveller Credit Card abschließen. Die Karte bieten die im Wesentlichen die gleichen Leistungen wie die Miles & More Credit Card Gold (138 Euro Jahresgebühr), ist mit 65 Euro Jahresgebühr aber deutlich günstiger. Nachteil der Frequent Traveller Kreditkarte ist, dass sie im Gegensatz zur Miles & More Gold Kreditkarte mit einem niedrigen Willkommensbonus beworben wird. Es bietet sich daher an sich den Bonus für die goldene Kreditkarte vor einem Statuserwerb zu sichern.

Vorteil #7] Executive Bonus

Der Miles & More Executive Bonus ist ein Bonus in Form von Miles & More Prämienmeilen , den Miles & More Statusinhaber, d.h. Miles & More Frequent Traveller, Miles & More Senatoren und HON Circle Member, auf Flügen mit ausgewählten Airlines zusätzlich zur regulären Meilengutschrift erhalten. Die Höhe des Executive Bonus ist für alle Statusinhaber identisch. Beachtet, dass es seit der Einführung des neuen Miles & More Statusprogramms Anfang 2024 keinen Executive Bonus für Statusmeilen (seit 2024 Statuspunkte) mehr gibt. Alle Miles & More Teilnehmer erhalten unabhängig vom Status die gleiche Anzahl an Statuspunkten für ihre Flüge.

Die Höhe des Miles & More Executive Bonus wird auf der Miles & More Webseite und an vielen anderen Stellen mit 25% oder 50% beziffert. In der Praxis wird es durch die unterschiedlichen Vergabesysteme von Prämienmeilen aber schnell etwas verwirrend. Denn abhängig von der Airline und dem Buchungsweg werden Prämienmeilen basierend auf dem Umsatz (Ticketpreis) oder der Flugentfernung und Buchungsklasse vergeben. Welche Vorteile bringt der Miles & More Frequent Traveller Status NICHT?

Wie ihr den obigen Ausführungen entnehmen könnt, bestehen einige kritische Einschränkungen in den Frequent Traveller Status Vorteilen. Deshalb sei hier nochmal hervorgehoben:

• Der Frequent Traveller Status berechtigt nicht generell zum Besuch von Star Alliance Lounges. Wie oben ausgeführt, ist man eingeschränkt auf die Business Lounges der direkten Lufthansa Partner-Airlines (Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Eurowings, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Luxair und SWISS). Zugang zu den Senator Lounges hat man nicht. Und auch zum berühmten First Class Terminal in Frankfurt hat man natürlich keinen Zugang.
• Wer Eurowings Flüge im BASIC Tarif bucht, hat keinen Anspruch auf Zugang zu den Business Lounges.
• Als Frequent Traveller kann man eine Begleitperson nicht kostenlos in die Lounge mitnehmen. Eine Mitnahme ist nur gegen Gebühr möglich.
• Zusätzliches Freigepäck gibt es nur für die aufgeführten Airlines und nicht auf Flügen mit allen anderen Star Alliance Airlines
• Wer den Lufthansa/Austrian/SWISS Light Tarif bucht, erhält kein zusätzliches Freigepäck. Das gilt nicht nur für Frequent Traveller, sondern auch für Senatoren und HON Circle Member. Unabhängig vom Status fallen hier immer Gepäckgebühren an.
• Kein Priority Boarding trotz Business Class Check-In.

Lufthansa Frequent Traveller Status erreichen

Wie bereits zu Beginn des Artikels erwähnt, ist Anfang 2024 eine große Umstrukturierung für die Statusvergabe bei Miles & More erfolgt. Mit Stichtag 01.01.2024 wurden Statusmeilen durch Statuspunkte ersetzt. Dementsprechend gibt es vollständig neue Qualifikationsanforderungen für einen Miles & More Frequent Traveller Status. Die zuvor bestehende Möglichkeit sich einen Frequent Traveller Status mit 30 Segmenten zu erfliegen entfällt. Die neuen Statusanforderungen sind simpel gehalten. Innerhalb eines Kalenderjahres müssen im Falle des Frequent Traveller Status 650 Points und 325 Qualifying Points gesammelt werden. Erstere gibt es für Flüge mit allen Miles & More Partnerairlines, letztere nur für Flüge mit Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Discover Airlines, Eurowings, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Luxair und SWISS. Dies führt dazu, dass ein Miles & More Status beispielsweise nicht ausschließlich mit United Flügen erflogen werden kann.

Über die Höhe der Statuspunkte-Gutschrift entscheidet nur noch die Reiseklasse (Economy, Premium Economy, Business, First) und die Unterscheidung in kontinentale und interkontinentale Flüge. Keinen Einfluss haben dagegen der Ticketpreis und die Buchungsklasse. Auch die Airline hat keinen Einfluss auf die Höhe der Punkte-Gutschrift. Damit ergibt sich die folgende sehr übersichtliche Tabelle.

Ein Flug gilt als kontinental, wenn Start und Ziel auf dem gleichen Kontinent liegen. Eine entsprechende Zuordnungs-Tabelle findet ihr in unserem Artikel zu den  Miles & More Regionen . Die Punktevergabe erfolgt je Flugsegment. Besteht ein Flug aus mehr als einem Flugsegment, erfolgt die Gutschrift für jedes Segment separat. Ein Lufthansa Business Class Flug von Hamburg über Frankfurt nach Los Angeles würde somit zum Beispiel 240 Points und 240 Qualifying Points (oneway) geben.

Wer Probleme hat die erforderlichen Statuspunkte zu erreichen, kann auch in begrenztem Umfang Prämienmeilen in Statuspunkte umwandeln. Denn Miles & More bietet allen Inhabern einer Miles & More Gold Kreditkarte oder Inhabern einer Kreditkarte mit Status die Möglichkeit bis zu 25.000 mit der Kreditkarte generierte Prämienmeilen in Statusmeilen umzuwandeln. Das Tauschverhältnis beträgt dabei 250 zu 1, d. h. maximal lassen sich auf diese Weise 100 Points + 100 Qualifying Points erhalten. Dies kann für all diejenigen nützlich sein, denen nur noch wenige Statuspunkte zum Erreichen des nächsten Statuslevels fehlen. Alle Infos gibt es in Prämienmeilen in Statuspunkte umwandeln .

Die Schlichtheit des neuen Miles & More Systems für die Statusvergabe führt dazu, dass dieses besser als je zuvor optimierbar ist. Im Kern ist es die Unterscheidung in kontinentale und interkontinentale Flüge, die dafür sorgt, dass schlussendlich nicht einmal die Flugentfernung eine Rolle bei der Höhe der Statuspunkte-Gutschrift spielen muss. Zwar ist ein interkontinentaler Flug in der Regel natürlich länger als ein kontinentaler Flug, doch Kontinente verfügen über Grenzen und enden irgendwo. Interkontinentale Flüge im Grenzgebiet der Miles & More Kontinente können also sehr kurz sein und trotzdem die hohe Punkte-Gutschrift für interkontinentale Flüge geben. Da interkontinentale Business Class Flüge 200 Statuspunkte geben, genügen bereits 4 Business Class Segmente, die bei geschickter Wahl sehr günstig sein können. Frequent Traveller Status – Gültigkeit, Requalifizierung und Verlängerung

Ein in 2024 erflogener Miles & More Frequent Traveller Status gilt nur noch für 1 Kalenderjahr und läuft dann immer Ende Februar des Folgejahres aus. Wer beispielsweise im September 2024 den FTL Status erfliegt, behält den Status bis Ende Februar 2026. Um den Status zu verlängern, muss man im Folgejahr (also 2025) die Bedingungen für den Erwerb des Frequent Traveller Status abermals erfüllen, um sich zu requalifizieren. Der Status verlängert sich dann um ein weiteres Jahre (bis Feb. 2027).

Frequent Traveller Status auf Lebenszeit

Im neuen Miles & More Statusprogramm gibt es die Möglichkeit einen Lifetime Frequent Traveller oder Lifetime Senator Status zu erwerben. Einen HON Circle auf Lebenszeit gibt es nicht.

• 30.000 Qualifizierende Statuspunkte (QP) für den Frequent Traveller Status auf Lebenszeit
• 40.000 Qualifizierende Statuspunkte (QP) für den Senator Status auf Lebenszeit

Setzt man die Anforderungen zum Lifetime Status in Relation zum “normalen” Status fällt auf, dass ein FTL mit 650 QP ca. 46 mal erflogen werden muss bevor dieser zum Lifetime Status wird. Beim Senator Status genügen 20 Statuserwerbe zu je 2.000 QP. Man achte auf die Einschränkung auf qualifizierende Statuspunkte. Ein Lifetime Status kann also nur mit Airlines der Lufthansagruppe und ausgewählten Partnerairlines erflogen werden. Ein große Anzahl an Flügen mit Star Alliance Partnerairlines berechtigt nicht zum Lifetime Status.

Bereits gesammelte Statusmeilen aus den vergangenen Jahren finden im neuen System Anrechnung. Bis zum 31. Dezember 2023 gesammelte Status Stars Punkte werden in Qualifying Points für die Erreichung des Frequent Traveller und Senator auf Lebenszeit umgerechnet. Dabei entspricht ein Status Stars Punkt zwei Qualifying Points.

Exkurs: Status Stars und Status Star Punkte

Beachtet dabei die unterschiedliche Definition von Statuspunkten (neu ab 2024), Status Star Punkten (alt) und Status Stars (alt), die für Verwirrung sorgen können. Am besten ignoriert ihr gedanklich die Status Stars, welche Miles & More Teilnehmern nach dem Sammeln von jeweils 5.000 Status Star Punkten verliehen werden (5.000 Status Star Punkte = 1 Status Star, 10.000 Status Star Punkte = 2 Status Stars, usw.) und primär visuell den Sammel-Fortschritt verdeutlichen sollen. Im Details funktioniert das Ganze so: Bestehenden Miles & More Statusinhabern werden für jeden Tag mit einem Status 1 bis 3 Status Stars Punkte gutgeschrieben.

• Frequent Traveller: 1 Status Star Punkt / Tag
• Senator: 2 Status Star Punkte / Tag
• HON: 3 Status Star Punkte / Tag

Diese Gutschrift gilt rückwirkend. Seid ihr beispielsweise bereits seit 5 Jahren Senator verfügt ihr über ca. 3.650 Status Stars Punkte (= 5 * 365 Tage * 2 Status Star Punkte / Tag). Diese Punkte wiederum werden im Verhältnis 1 zu 2 in die 2024 neu eingeführten Statuspunkte umgerechnet, was 7.300 Status Punkten entspricht. Der Lifetime Senator Status mit 40.000 erforderlichen Status Punkten ist damit noch weit entfernt.

Lohnt sich der Lufthansa Frequent Traveller Status?

Die Vorteile, die der Miles & More Frequent Traveller Status mit sich bringt, sind recht schmal. Diesen durch Umwege und/oder unter Mehrkosten “künstlich zu erfliegen” macht wohl wenig Sinn, auch wenn letztendlich jeder selbst entscheiden muss, wie viel ihm die Vorteile wert sind. Auch sollte man nicht vergessen, dass man viele der Vorteile auch auf anderem Weg erhalten kann. Wer z.B. Business oder First fliegt, braucht keinen Status, den Loungezugang etc. bekommt man durch das Ticket. Für Economy-Flieger wiederum gibt es Alternativen wie die American Express Platinum, die nicht nur zwei Priority Pässe für weltweiten Loungezugang für 2 Personen enthält (Wert 918 Euro), sondern auch Zugang zu zahlreichen Lufthansa Lounges gewährt. Hinzu kommen viele weitere Vorteile.

To show our appreciation for their long-term loyalty, we are rewarding our members with Frequent Traveller Lifetime and Senator Lifetime status . This means that you can now enjoy never-ending benefits that make travel more pleasant and comfortable.

How to achieve Lifetime status

Earn 30,000 Qualifying Points over the years, and you’ll automatically achieve Frequent Traveller Lifetime status. If you keep earning and accrue 40,000 Qualifying Points , you’ll achieve Senator Lifetime status.

Achieving Frequent Traveller Lifetime or Senator Lifetime status via Status Stars points

The basis for achieving Lifetime status is the sum total of all Qualifying Points that you earn over the years on flights with Lufthansa Group airlines and co-issuing Miles & More airline partners.

Naturally, your existing status membership will be taken into account. All the Status Stars points that you have earned by 31.12.2023 will be converted into Qualifying Points for achieving Frequent Traveller Lifetime or Senator Lifetime status.

One Status Stars point is equivalent to two Qualifying Points. All status customers with four or five Status Stars will therefore automatically become a Senator Lifetime at the beginning of 2024. Those who have achieved three Status Stars by the end of 2023 will be awarded Frequent Traveller Lifetime status. Your new status card will be sent to you automatically by the end of February.

From mid January 2024 , you will be able to see how many Qualifying Points you have earned to achieve Lifetime status, including the equivalent in Status Stars points, under your Miles & More status .

Where can i see how many qualifying points i have already earned to qualify as a frequent traveller lifetime/senator lifetime.

The Qualifying Points earned towards achieving Frequent Traveller Lifetime or Senator Lifetime status can be found under your status on the Miles & More app or at miles-and-more.com from mid January.

What benefits do I get with Lifetime status?

You’ll get all the benefits of Frequent Traveller or Senator status.

Is Lifetime status really awarded for an entire lifetime?

Yes, there’s no time limit on Frequent Traveller Lifetime and Senator Lifetime status. The expiry date on your card relates solely to the card itself and not to your Lifetime status. All cards have a fixed term and are regularly exchanged. You’ll be sent a new card well before your current card expires.

As a Frequent Traveller Lifetime or Senator Lifetime, can I still achieve a higher status, for example Senator or HON Circle?

You can always go up a status, for example from Senator Lifetime to HON Circle Member or from Frequent Traveller Lifetime to Senator.

Are status customers who achieve Frequent Traveller Lifetime/Senator Lifetime required to hold a status in order to meet the criteria?

No, qualification as a Frequent Traveller Lifetime or Senator Lifetime occurs when the required number of Qualifying Points is achieved, regardless of the current status.

I already have Senator Lifetime status, so will anything about my status change after the switchover on 1.1.2024?

No, Senator Lifetime will continue to be valid for an entire lifetime under the new status programme. However, there will be a technical switchover. We’ll send you a new card with a new service card number by the end of February 2024. Miles & More Credit Card holders should be aware that when we send the new card, your credit card number will also change. Your current card will remain valid until you receive your new card. The great news is: you’ll also receive 4 upgrade vouchers (eVouchers) with the switchover.

Will there still be Status Stars?

Since Status Stars and Status Stars points will no longer exist, these will no longer be visible on your status card or the online channels. You will still have access to exclusive Status events, and long-term membership will be rewarded with Frequent Traveller Lifetime and Senator Lifetime status.

Will the card still featuring Status Stars no longer be valid from January 2024?

No, cards featuring Status Stars will remain valid.

Will I get a new bag tag without Status Stars on it?

No, bag tags will not automatically be exchanged. You can continue to use bag tags featuring Status Stars.
