Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Player Builds Impressive Steamboat in the Game

Diablo 4 player attacked by 2 butchers at once, some fans think square enix just teased a final fantasy 13 remake, quick links, how to get to the karahatag shrine, karahatag shrine walkthrough.

When players need to take a break from the story of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom , there are plenty of things for them to do and places to discover all across Hyrule. While traditional dungeons have made their return in this sequel to the critically acclaimed Breath of the Wild , Shrines are also in this game as well.

There are over 150 shrines for players to find and complete. Since completing shrines is how players can increase their health and stamina, any time spent on shrines is time well spent. Some shrines are more difficult to reach than others, and some cannot be easily reached until enough progress has been made in the story. This is the case for the Karahatag Shrine.

In order to reach the Karahatag Shrine, Tears of the Kingdom players must go to the Gerudo Desert. The coordinates for the Karahatag Shrine are -3714, -3618, 0044. The tricky part about reaching this shrine is that it requires completion of the Lightning Temple first. Otherwise, the entire region is covered in an unending sandstorm that makes navigating through the desert next to impossible. Once the sandstorm is gone, however, players will have no trouble finding the shrine.

Once players have unlocked the fast travel point in front of the shrine, they will be able to go inside. At the start of the shrine, there will be a small fire with a torch on the ground next to it. Take the torch and light it. Throw the torch at the bottom of the floating platform to the left and the gate will open.

Shooting an arrow with a Fire Fruit attached is also a solution for this first puzzle. This first puzzle can also be skipped by using Ascend on the floating platform and then jumping over the gate.

Enter the next room and climb up the ladder. Before doing anything else, go toward the middle platform and look down. Use the paraglider to go underneath the platform and toward the right to reach an alcove that has a chest. The chest contains a Construct Bow. Use Ascend to return to the top of the platform.

Up ahead, players will see three floating platforms that are exactly the same as the one in the previous room. The difference however, is that there is no bottom part that can be lit with fire. There is also a switch on the ground that players can stand on that reveals a spot on the floating platforms that can be lit. Unfortunately players need to stay on the switch to keep the ignitable part of the platforms down.

To solve this puzzle, use Ultrahand to grab the small pillar with the flame. Take it toward the first floating platform immediately to the left and lift it into the hole. Put it down and go back to the switch. Use Recall while still on the switch to light the platform.

The platforms will remain lit, even after players step off of the switch. So don't worry about losing any progress.

This exact same set of steps works on the other two floating platforms as well, and once all three platforms are lit the door to the altar will open.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now on Nintendo Switch.

Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom - Karahatag Shrine Puzzle Guide

Complete the Drifting Flame puzzle in the Karahatag Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

By Jason Rodriguez on May 16, 2023 at 10:56AM PDT

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Karahatag Shrine Puzzle is fairly tricky. It requires you to make use of your Recall ability so you can light the braziers that keep moving. Here's our guide to help you solve the Karahatag Shrine's Drifting Flame Puzzle in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How to solve the Karahatag Shrine's Drifting Flame Puzzle in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Karahatag Shrine is found in the southern portion of the Gerudo region. Due to the sweltering heat, quicksands, and deadly enemies, we advise making use of the Lightning Temple.

Assuming you've already cleared the dungeon, return to the Lightning Temple Puzzle area , and use the updraft to get up higher. From there, keep using Ascend, including on the ceiling at the altar/boss arena, so you can reach the top of the pyramid. You can then glide east, where you'll see the Irasak Shrine nearby, and the Karahatag Shrine further in the distance.

Karahatag Shrine location

As for the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Drifting Flame Puzzle, you'll start out by picking up the torch, then lighting it on the brazier. Use Ultrahand to grab and lift it so that it ignites the other brazier up top. This will open the door.

Puzzle #1 solution

This is somewhat complex. Basically, there's a large chamber with three upside down pillars. Stepping on those will cause the floor to get lowered. However, the pillars themselves will reveal the braziers that need to be lit. There's also a candle nearby.

Here's what you need to do:

  • Pick up the candle and place it upright on any of the three white tiles on the floor.
  • Step on the plate to lower the floor.
  • As soon as you do this, cast Recall on the candle , which will lift it back to its original position. This will cause the candle to light the upside down brazier.
  • Do this for the other two braziers by placing the candle on the matching white tiles.
  • When you're done, this will unlock the doorway, and you'll be able to complete the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Karahatag Shrine Drifting Flame Puzzle.

Puzzle #2 solution

Wait, what about the chest ? Don't worry, we've got your back. In the same large chamber, hop off to the side of the floor switch area. You'll notice a small nook. Open the chest here for a Mighty Construct Bow.

I'm glad bioware ditched tactical combat in dragon age: the veilguard, starting dragon age: inquisition made me decide to finally finish baldur’s gate 3.

The shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are important challenges to seek out and complete - not only do they help you learn how different mechanics work in an engaging fashion, but they provide useful fast travel points and useful Blessings of Light.

This shrine, located to the west of Hyrule Forest, is unusually situated to teach you about ice physics, but that's what it does. You'll be dealing with massive ice blocks, fire emitters, and a neat slide made entirely out of dangerous spikes if you want to claim this shrine's Blessing of Light.

How To Complete Kiuyoyou Shrine: Fire And Ice

When you enter this shrine, you will immediately be presented with the shrine's exit, but behind a gate that you must unlock. To your right is a very large flame emitter above a button, and to your left is an ice block near another button.

The ice block is unfortunately too large to fit inside the alcove to weigh the button down, so first, pick it up with Ultrahand and place it in the flames for a few seconds . This will melt the ice a little, making it small enough to fit in the alcove.

If you completely melt the ice block , don't worry; another will be provided for you.

This will open the way forward.

The next room has a few odd things: a permanent gust of wind shooting up into the air, a ramp made of spikes, and an ice block dispenser at the top.

Use your Paraglider to ride the updraft to the upper level . Now you'll see what's happening - the ice blocks are constantly being melted by a jet of flame.

Take the nearby large plate and place it in front of the flame jets . If you're left with a slightly melted ice block, take this and either melt the rest of it in the fire or throw it off the edge - we need a fully formed block of ice .

Take the large block of ice and place it on the ground out of the small pit, out of the way of any fire when you remove the large metal plate. Once you've done this, take the metal plate and place it on top of the ice block , attaching it.

Place the ice block/metal plate combo on the spiked ramp , and it'll slide down to the lower level. Join them by gliding down.

Take the ice block to the first set of flame emitters and place it on top of the button underneath , with the metal plate on top. The metal plate will prevent the fire from melting the ice, and you'll be able to weigh the button down safely, completing the shrine and unlocking the entrance.

Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom – How To Gain Flame Guard | Fireproof Guide

Everything you need to know about gaining Flame Guard in Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom.

Cooking Fireproof Meals

Brewing fireproof elixirs, wearing fireproof armour.

wandering flame tears of the kingdom

Survival in Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom requires preparation, as Hyrule is an unforgiving place. If you want to get through in one piece, having a healthy pack full of consumables fit for the location you are heading is simply a must. This is made apparent as early as the Great Sky Island, as that place has you traversing a place so cold you will literally freeze to death without planning (check out our guide on how to survive that).

Of course, being extra chilly isn’t the only way to perish. Arguably the worst way to go is burning alive as your entire body combusts from the heat of the air itself. This is what happens when you wander too close to Death Mountain, and you are going to need a solution if you want to continue wandering in that direction.

Note: Being hot is not the same as being on fire. If you want to become heat resistant (perhaps you are heading to Gerudo Desert), you will have to check out our Heat Resistance guide .

Unfortunately, as of writing this, we have not discovered any meal that provides Flame Guard. This makes this condition unique, as every other element can be countered by a hearty meal. If you want to prevent yourself from being set on fire, you need to rely on elixirs and armour.

wandering flame tears of the kingdom

Since meals are a no-go this time around, it’s time to brew an elixir. In fact, you could even argue that Flame Guard acts as a soft tutorial for Elixirs as nearly every other effect in the game is shared between both systems. If you want to know how to brew elixirs, check out our guide for a detailed breakdown.

As of writing, the only ingredient we were able to find that provides Flame Guard is the conveniently named, Fireproof Lizard. This thing can be found around Eldin Canyon and Death Mountain. Like most bugs, you can also buy them from Beedle in specific locations – Woodland Stable in this case.

In order to turn your lizards into elixirs, you will also require Monster Parts. The Monster Part you use for an Elixir might affect the quality of the potion, however, we were not able to confirm for definite when writing this guide. As a general rule, we would recommend using the worst quality ingredient to not waste something more valuable. Bokoblin Horns are our usual go-to here.

wandering flame tears of the kingdom

The final way to survive combustion is to wear specific kinds of armour. We are only aware of one suit that grants this specific protection, and sadly, you can only get it from Goron Village. This is, of course, in a place that sets your skin on fire just by approaching it, so you can’t rely on it when you first attempt to trek.

The armour is also very expensive, costing thousands of Rupees to get the whole set. You might be better off just relying on Elixirs if you don’t have the means to generate large amounts of cash.

Do note that even with Flame Guard, your weapons will not be protected. As a result, avoid anything made of wood, as these will quickly ignite and then turn to ash. Metal weapons are the way to go here.

That’s all we have for Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom for now. Be sure to check out our other content for more tips, tricks, guides, and lists.

Middle-earth goes to war in a new Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power trailer

The new season premieres with three whole episodes later this month

by Susana Polo

Susana Polo

Amazon’s latest trailer for the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is all about war: Specifically, big battle scenes and tense conflicts — almost as if the show wants you to know that season 1 was just a preamble.

The footage touches on all the key players: the elves of Eregion, doing their best to remain in Middle-earth unchanged and undiminished; the dwarves of Khazad-dûm, who’ve already awakened the shadow and flame ; the Numenorean humans, with their late king, newly blinded queen, and ambitious regent ; Adar, the ancient corrupted elf and self-appointed father of orcs ; and, of course, Sauron himself. And based on this trailer, it looks like all of these factions have their very own armies and are gearing up for war — except, of course, for the Stranger and Nori, who are off in the East somewhere meeting Tom Bombadil .

Why? Well, trailers for The Rings of Power ’s new season have given every indication that things are going to escalate considerably, into the period of Tolkien’s Middle-earth history in which Sauron dupes the elven smith Celebrimbor into making more rings of power , and then the elves of Eregion band together to fight Sauron, and hopefully defeat him once and for all. It doesn’t work, of course, but it stands to make for great drama.

Season 2 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will premiere on Aug. 29 with three whole episodes! The next five episodes will be released weekly on Amazon Prime, with a season finale on Oct. 3.
