Bangalore is also famously known as the " Garden City " due to the vast, well-kept gardens scattered across the city. There are also a multitude of great cafes and restaurants in Bangalore. Apart from all this, Bangalore has some iconic sights such as the Vidhan Soudha and Bangalore Palace. While Bangalore may not be a place you'd want to spend many days in, but it's certainly a good place to visit on a weekend for even for one day. This Bangalore itinerary tell you all the places to visit in Bangalore in 1 day. But if you have more time, you can visit some of the other places here or even do a quick day trip to Mysuru.

1. Cubbon Park

Start your one day in Bangalore by taking an early-morning stroll in Cubbon Park . Among the hustle and bustle of the city, you’ll find this expansive area to be relaxed and calming. Here you’ll find people running, doing yoga, walking their dogs and even cycling. It’s great to see a whole bunch of people with varied interests coming together with one common intent - to relax and maintain their fitness. Granted that my image of Cubbon park doesn't look that appealing but trust me, this Bangalore park is better than my shoddy image of it.

2. Vidhan Soudha

Vidhan Soudha, an iconic landmark of Bangalore is just a short walking distance from Cubbon Park and one of the best places to visit in Bangalore in 1 day. Not only is it the state legislature of Karnataka, it is also the largest one in India. Vidhan Soudha in Karnataka is the epitome of grandeur. As a matter of fact, it costs 20 million rupees to maintain it’s splendour annually. Just opposite to this marvel lies the High Court of Karnataka, another beautiful building.

3. Breakfast at Little Green Cafe

It’s no doubt that there’s no shortage of awesome cafes in Bangalore. Because I had limited time and I wanted to visit one of the top instagrammble cafes in Bangalore, I walked toward Little Green Cafe. Because this cafe is a 15 minute walk from the Vidhan Soudha , you will save time when you have just one day in Bangalore.

From the minute I walked in, I fell in love with everything from the decor, the lights, the table tops, the cutlery to the extensive breakfast menu. I went for the Namaste Omelette , which was prepared in the Indian style using tomato, chillies and onions. It came with large toasts, a crunchy salad and grilled tomato. Everything on the plate was hearty and delicious. I honestly wish I could’ve come back here for lunch. In any case, there’s always a next time.

4. Bangalore Palace

Next stop is another iconic sight in Bangalore which can't be skipped from the places to visit in Bangalore in one day - the Bangalore Palace . Now, I felt the camera fees for the palace were a little steep. I bought a ticket for myself and paid a fee for just my DSLR camera, not my phone camera, which brought my total upto almost 1000 rupees.

Coming to the palace itself, the Bangalore Palace grounds were well-kept and gave away a great view of the palace. The tickets purchased can be used to access the grounds, the inside of the palace as well as a Bangalore Palace audio guide . The guides were insightful and gave away details about the palace, it’s residents and guests. Be sure to keep your ticket safe until the end of the visit since the staff does random checks at various points in the palace.

5. Tipu Sultan's Palace

After lunch, head to Tipu Sultan Palace which used to be the summer residence of Tipu Sultan , the ruler of the Kingdom Mysore during the 1700s. The rooms in the ground floor of the palace contain relics and pictures depicting Tipu Sultan and his reign. While the palace isn’t much and can be covered within 10-15 minutes, it’s just one of those Bangalore attractions which can’t be skipped and so I have included it in my 1-day Bangalore itinerary.

6. Lalbagh Botanical Garden

A visit to Bangalore will be incomplete if you haven’t visited one of the many Bangalore gardens. After all, Bangalore is known as Garden City for good reason. Take a leisurely evening stroll in one of the most popular gardens in Bangalore - Lalbagh garden. Make sure you visit the beautiful glass house which hosts flower shows twice a year. Not just that, there’s also a lake which you just can’t miss!

7. Indiranagar

Now that you’ve covered the most important sights in Bangalore, it’s time to let down your hair and experience the Bangalore nightlife. Indiranagar is undoubtedly the most happening place in Bangalore . It’s flooded with all the biggest stores, some of the best cafes in Bangalore and of course, great pubs. 8. Dinner at Truffles

No trip to Bangalore will be complete without paying a visit to what is one of the best cafes in Bangalore. Truffles, located in Indiranagar, as mentioned earlier, is famous for its burgers and cold coffees . I had the cheese burger and asked for a brownie points cold coffee to go with it. The coffee came with a whole brownie, pulled apart into pieces and a giant scoop of vanilla ice-cream, topped with some chocolate sauce. That one coffee was way too delicious and way too much for one person. The burger had fantastic flavour and the potato chips were yum. Without a doubt, it’s one of the must visit places in Bangalore.

If you take the overnight sleeper bus from Bangalore late in the evening, then you will find yourself in beautiful Kodaikanal early in the morning. Known as the 'Princess of Hill Stations', the town is nestled in the western ghats of India.

Apart from a lake, many churches and food joints, there are many things to do in Kodaikanal in 2 days , making it the perfect day trip from Bangalore.

Anywone living in or visiting India, especiall the Southern half of India, is well aware of this place. Gokarna is a small temple and beach town on the western coast of India, very close to Goa.

Apart from  Hindu temples, there are many beaches in Gokarna. In fact, a Gokarna 5 beach trek is one of the best things to do here. And just like Kodaikanal, Gokarna is also an overnight journey from Bangalore.

Filled with shrub forest at the height of 3780 feet; the hill belongs to the Forest Reserve. It is rich in biodiversity with elephants and other wild-life with vegetation over high hills. The annual festival is held once every year on January 14.

From a distance, the hillock looks like a 'Shiva Linga', with a spring flowing nearby that's locally called Ganga, thereby naming it Shivaganga.

30. Balmuri Falls, Srirangapatna - 138 kms away

Balmuri falls is a small water cascade located at Srirangapatna in Karnataka. Though known as a waterfall, it is a human-made check dam over the Cauvery river, which allows the water to flow in a 6-foot cascade over the Cauvery. Green coconut palms and trees adorn the shores and the gushing cascade of water sparkle in the sun, which is why the spot is quite scenic where many song sequences in Kannada and a few Hindi films have been shot! Now, isn’t that inviting enough for all you photographers out there to spend a day out wading over the waters and capturing beautiful pictures!

31. Avani, Kolar - 95 km Away

A small village in Mulbagal taluk, Avanni is situated about 10 miles from Kolar Gold Fields. This famous rock climbing destination is 13 km from Mulbagal. It is prominent because of his legend. Apparently, Sita gave birth to the twins lava – kusha in Avani, and according to local beliefs, the author of Ramayana, the great sage Valmiki resided in this place. Popularly known as the Gaya of the South, Avani has many ancient temples like the Lakshmaneshwara, Ramalingeshwara, Shatrugneshwara, and Bharateshwara.

32. Kunti Betta, Mysore - 125 kms away

Nestled in the town of Pandavapura between two hills, Kunti Betta is a perfect place to get away from the helter skelter of the city. This place is surrounded by sugarcane fields, paddy fields and coconut trees that makes the place look beautiful and mesmerizing. Situated at an elevation of 2882 feet, the picturesque scenic views that this place comprises of will make you feel rejuvenated. A number of rocks with fascinating shapes are located here. A crocodile face rock is one of them which provides bird eye view of the whole place. Some rocks are in the shape of utensils and it is believed that they were used by the Pandavas to cook food in. Giant footprint like formations can also be found here which are called Bheemana Pada. Kunti Betta with its historical significance and splendid natural beauty is a magical place to unwind and cherish some quality and peaceful time with your loved ones.

One Day In Bangalore: The Perfect Itinerary With Lots Of Options!

Bangalore was the first place that I ever travelled to in my life. I was just 13 years old then. I still remember how excited I was. Now so many years later, I have actually spent 6 years in the city and while it isn’t perfect, there are a couple of things to do in Bangalore in one day that should really be on your list.

In fact, a couple of years ago Bangalore was once known as the garden city. Rapid urbanization has changed the way the city looks today. There are still a couple of gardens around, but nothing compared to the green paradise I remember it to be.

My parents and grandmother often talk about the time when people would visit Bangalore to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Today, the reverse takes place. People from Bangalore want to head out of the city to get a bit of peace.

That does not mean however that the city isn’t interesting. There is a lot to explore and see. Today, the city is considered to be an IT hub and is popular for its breweries and clubbing. There is lot to see in terms of culture, religious monuments and plenty of the famous south Indian food that you should taste.

With that in mind, I decided to write a post about how to spend one day in Bangalore. Before I start talking about the itinerary, let’s talk a little about how to reach the city, where to stay and a little bit about the transport in the city.

How to reach bangalore.

Bangalore is a metropolitan city and it has its own airport which caters to both domestic and international flights. It is also where people head out to when they want to explore other parts of Karnataka. The airports make it really accessible or well sort off… That’s because the traffic in the city is horrible.

Other ways to reach Bangalore are via bus and train. Majestic is the largest bus stop in the city and most of the interstate buses arrive and leave from here.

Bangalore also is one of the stops on many road trips, since it is really central. You can see why people would want to cover as much ground as possible when passing through the city.

Where To Stay In Bangalore

You would be surprised to know just how big Bangalore is. If you have just one day in Bangalore, you probably want to stay as close to most of the sites as you can. I would suggest staying in and around M.G. road or Brigade road. You will find that it reduces your travel time and you will be forever grateful because the gridlock traffic can take the fun out of the exploring the city.

Transport In Bangalore

One thing that I really do not like about the city is the traffic. I would say avoid rush hour traffic but it is really hard to define when rush hour really is. Luckily staying in the center of the city should help reduce the time to destination.

So how can you get around the city? There are a number of different bus routes that you can use. Uber is another popular option. The center of the city also has a lot of autos that can certainly make the transit easier. So, if you just have one day in Bangalore, know that you have options to start move about.

Spending One Day In Bangalore

Now that you have a feel for the city, let us start talking about how an ideal day in Bangalore would be spent. I know that there are a lot of things to do in the city, but you want to get a taste of the culture, the food, the architecture and everything else that the city has to offer.

Start Your Day With A South Indian Breakfast

One of the things that I love about Bangalore is the food. There are so many different places in the city that you can head to catch a bite to eat. I highly recommend eating a south Indian breakfast. There are so many different items to try and it would be wrong of me to tell you to just try one item when there are so many good ones out there.

Woody’s at commercial street is one of the old restaurants that is famous. One thing that I have learned however is that all local restaurants serving south Indian food are invariably amazing!

Head To KR Flower Market

Exploring K.R. market definitely should be on your list!

A lot of people fall in love with the K.R. Flower market. I have visited it in the afternoon hours, but I am given to believe that the best time to visit it is in the wee hours of the morning. Well… By wee hours I mean around 6 am.

So why is K.R. flower market so attractive? Well, you get to see the flowers of course. The whole area is filled with vendors stringing them together to form garlands. Just like most things in India, the flower market is really colourful and you will find that there is very little place to move around.

Once you are done with the flower market, pause a bit to wander around the other parts of the market. K.R. market is a bustling place and is a classic Indian market if you haven’t explored one before.

The Bangalore Fort

I definitely would suggest visiting this gorgeous fort in the city centre.

I believe that you definitely should visit Bangalore fort and it makes the most sense to do it immediately after visiting K.R. market since it is very close to it. The fort isn’t much to look at from the outside but that doesn’t mean you should keep it off your itinerary. The thick walls of the fort can only be appreciated once you step inside it. An enclosed garden was something that I never expected to see.

Tipu Sultan’s Palace

Tipu Sultan’s palace should be your next stop. It is a short distance away from K.R. market and the Bangalore fort. The palace is a popular tourist spot and while it isn’t really very big, you definitely should not skip it. Unlike the larger Bangalore palace, the ticket to the Tipu Sultan’s palace is much cheaper (15/- for Indians and 200/- for foreigners).

The palace is made of wood. It is beautiful and you will definitely enjoy taking a look at the intricate paintings on the walls. Some spots may have faded but you can definitely see the splendor that the palace must have had in the days of yore.

Lalbagh Botanical Gardens

The towering trees at Lal Bagh is a perfect quiet place to stop at during your one day in Bangalore.

Lalbagh is one of the largest forested areas in the city. It is impressive and a lot of the locals love to walk around here but it isn’t really crowded since it covers a large area of land. If you have just one day in Bangalore and you get stuck in traffic, you may want to pull this off your list. If you do have time, then head to Lal Bagh once you are done with Tipu Sultan’s palace. There are so many places to eat in Bangalore that it is hard to narrow it down. People in the city use the Zomato app to locate restaurants and read reviews about each place. I would suggest heading to a restaurant that serves south Indian cuisine and trying out what is called a meal. It comes on a steel plate (known as a thali) and is served with an assortment of dishes and Indian bread.

Usually it is unlimited and cheap! The MTR outlets are pretty popular. There is one outlet next to Lalbagh and there is one next to the Bangalore Palace which is the next stop on our one day in Bangalore itinerary.

Bangalore Palace

One of the places that you have to visit during your one day in Bangalore should be the famous Bangalore palace. It belongs to the Wadeyar family and is a rather magnificent building that has been opened for the public. I would really suggest heading here after lunch because it would mean that you would be walking in an area that was covered.

Of late Bangalore has begun to have rather unpredictable weather. On the days that it is hot, you will find that the heat can really give you a sun stroke. Staying out of the afternoon heat and keeping rehydrated is probably the smartest thing that you can do during your day in Bangalore.

Getting back to the topic, the Bangalore palace is rather interesting. From tea wood floors to the mounted head of an elephant, the palace has it all. It even has a courtyard which is decorated with tiles that were a gift from the King of Spain. You can even get an audio guide that will tell you about each part of the palace and about the history of various items in building.

Iskcon Temple

The next stop on your one day in Bangalore should be the Iskcon temple. Somehow, visiting the Iskcon temple had never made it to the top of our list till lately when we realized just how close to Bangalore palace it is. The temple is huge and has its own dedicated parking area which was a relief for us since we were driving with a baby.

While the temple does have similar architecture when compared to the famous south Indian temples one big glaring difference is that the temple is painted white. I have noticed that most of the south Indian temples are rather colourful.

At the end of the tour of the temple, you can buy prasad (or food offered to the Gods). We chose to buy some of the sweets which were insanely delicious. Just know that the sweets are often made using Ghee which isn’t vegan.

Loads of malls have cropped up around the city. Orion mall is a huge shopping complex that lies very close to the Iskcon temple and you should have no trouble getting to it. It is a great place if you are looking for all the brands in one spot.

You can also catch a bite to eat in one of the numerous restaurants in the complex or even head out to try out a buffet at one of the restaurants in the Sheraton next door.

Other Attractions In Bangalore

As I mentioned before, getting around the city is probably the most time-consuming thing that you are going to face especially if you have just one day in Bangalore. This largely because of traffic and not because of the distance from spot to spot.

Most people measure distance by the time it takes from point A to point B, before heading out. Google maps is usually pretty accurate. There are a couple of things that you can swap around with the locations that I have given you. Let’s take a look at those shall we?

Shopping In The City

As I mentioned before, Bangalore has a lot of places that you can head out to if you love shopping. There are malls in all corners of the city if that floats your boat.

Popular ones are Phoenix Marketcity, Orion mall and the various Forum malls. UB city is a luxury mall that is located in the centre of Bangalore and has everything from shopping to spas and dining.

If you would love to visit a shopping district and not wander through a mall, then head to Brigade road, M.G. road and commercial street. You will find that there is a mixture of brands and local artisans sitting here. It is a fun place to wander if the weather is good.

Be forewarned that the crowds can get to your after a while and you have to factor in traffic! So if you have just one day in Bangalore plan with that time factor in mind!

Cubbon Park

Cubbon park is another gorgeous park in the city that deserves mention. It’s large trees and shaded area attracts people who live nearby. Quite frankly, if it wasn’t for the traffic, I definitely would visit Cubbon park more often. It may not have a lake like Lal Bagh but it is another one of the green lungs that the congested city depends on.

St Mary’s Basilica

St. Mary’s Basilica is the oldest church in the city and would definitely make a fine addition to your one day in Bangalore. The Basilica is in the Commercial street/M.G. road area.

In fact, you could head there in the morning before breakfast at Woody’s should you choose to. It won’t take you long to explore and the façade of the church is really worth taking a look at.

Venkatappa Art Gallery

It has been ages since I visited the Venkatappa Art Gallery. It is located close to Cubbon park. So you may want to add this to your list if you are in the area. If memory serves me right, you will find that the entry fees are not too expensive. It houses as many as 600 noteworthy pieces of art!

This is a place for people who are history buffs and/or art lovers. Definitely recommended for a pit stop on your one day in Bangalore itinerary.

Great Day Trips From Bangalore

If this isn’t your first visit and you have already seen the most iconic tourist spots, don’t give up hope. We’ve curated a list of great day trips that can give you a bit of inspiration on how to spend one day in Bangalore.

As we mentioned before, the city is pretty central when you see its location in the state. Traffic and road conditions can dissuade you but there are a couple of great places to spend one day in Bangalore, albeit on the outskirts.

Bannerghatta National Park

Bannerghatta National park is a place where you can spend one day in Bangalore away from the main city.

Bannerghatta National park is located just 35 kilometers away from the city. It is another one of the city’s attractions that I have not visited in a very long time. The park houses a number of enclosures where animals are housed. The experience involves tourists driving into the enclosure in a jeep or in a bus. It all depends on how much you want to pay.

The jeep is definitely more costly but there are less people and the experience is fun. What I liked about it was that the humans are in an enclosed space and not the animals. Well… At least they are not in a very small enclosure.

Please note that I have been to this park a very very long time ago. I have heard that things have changed and that the animals aren’t very well treated. So do your research before you visit.

In search of a bit adrenaline and fun? Wonderla is another great place to spend one day in Bangalore if you have finished the other touristic stuff. Wonderla is an amusement park that sits around 30 kilometers away from the centre of the city. It has loads of rides that include and exclude water.

Like most places close to the city, Wonderla too can get packed during weekends and holidays. It doesn’t mean that it is any less fun but you do have to wait in longer queues which can get frustrating. My advice would be to visit it on a weekday when you can get the maximum out of the place.

Nandi Hills

One of the places to visit near Bangalore is Nandi hills.

Located around 60 kilometers away from the center of the Bangalore, you will find that Nandi hills is one of the most loved getaways from the busy city live. Weekends are usually when the area is really crowded. I would suggest heading there on a weekday when you have the place all to yourself. What do you see there? Well you have a view from the hill, a temple and a summer palace.

Another one of the places to visit near Bangalore is Lepakshi.

If you are headed towards Nandi hills, you may want to consider heading out a little further and visiting Lepakshi which is technically in Andhra Pradesh. It is contingent on having your own mode of transport of course. Lepakshi is popular because it is home to the Veerbhadra temple and a huge bull statue.

The small town is located around 120 kilometers away from the center of city. That means by combining it with Nandi hills, you will be out the whole day.

I can't wait for South Indian breakfast! Also, the flower market looks beautiful. Would it be appropriate if I bought a flowered necklace to wear, or are they only for certain local celebrations or events? That is a bit sad to read that it used to be the garden city, hopefully they incorporate more green urban design in the future.

You are going to love the South Indian breakfast! I don't think people will say much though you probably will get an odd look or two. The garlands are usually used for idols and religious ornaments. I also think that they are used in marriage ceremonies. Honestly, you kinda flummoxed me a bit ;) I've never thought of wearing one.

Bangalore is turning away from the green city that it used to be. I wish the change would halt but it doesn't look like it will in the near future and it is rather worrisome.

Bangalore: The ‘Silicon City of India ‘ or the famous IT hub where every college graduate dreams to land a great job. Initially conceptualized as the city for retirees somehow landed the status of IT capital of the county. Compared to California’s silicon city, the city usually overflows with geeks & business tourists. A pit stop for other must-see places in Karnataka , Bangalore is a place often ignored as a tourist destination.

I always dreamed of visiting Bangalore with a will to explore beyond its skyscrapers. Here’s my ultimate Bangalore itinerary where I spent a day so I present the best of Bangalore in one day. 

Karnataka is a beautiful Indian state, not limited to Bangalore (Duh!!). There are numerous tourists places in Karnataka which will mesmerize you. Here’s a detailed guide to Karnataka which covers everything you need to know about alluring. 

An Ultimate Bangalore Itinerary: Everything about doing Bangalore in One Day the right way

Bangalore is a metro city with a number of places to visit, which is why I recommend staying at least 2 days here. If you are short on time with only one day in Bangalore, I’ll share my tips in this Bangalore itinerary about what to do & where to eat. 

Bangalore in One Day: The Morning 

No matter where you’re staying, I suggest starting your day at 8:00 AM with an early breakfast. I stayed in Indiranagar where a couple of cafes opened as soon as 8:00 AM which gave me a headstart for the day. I started my day with a cup of chai at the Tata Cha, which opened right at 8:00. 

Vidhana Soudha

Next, hire a cab or an auto to take you to Cubbon Park. On your way make a pit-stop at the Vidhana Soudha or Legislative Assembly of Karnataka. This is one of the most beautifully designed government buildings in India. Although it is not allowed for tourists or normal public to go inside, the outside structure is a feast for eyes, especially for architecture fanatics. I spent some time outside on my way back but it is way better if we do it the other way. 

Did you know? This is the largest state legislative building in India.

The grandeur of the Vidhana Soudha is noticeable from far off. Made of off-white & beige granite & porphyry stones, in Neo-Dravidian style. The building is decorated with domes and flaunts the visible hints of Indo-Saracenic architecture similar to one in Delhi’s North block & Chennai’s high court. 

Cubbon Park

Similar to Delhi’s Lodhi Garden but much magnanimous in size. Dating back to the 18th-century, the park remains the lifeline of Bangalore. The gradual movements of traffic, the visible lackadaisical attitude of the people taking shade in the trees and artists trying to capture moments all blends into the soul of this park. 

A walk in Cubbon Park while trying to complete the places to visit in Bangalore in one day is a must! Without this, you’re missing the heart of the city. After the walk, head to Koshy’s for a mouth-watering breakfast, it is one of the oldest cafes in the area & you’ll not be disappointed. 

Bangalore in One Day: Afternoon

Bangalore is a metro city & so the main tourist places of Bangalore are spread out in all directions. Not a walkable city which is why uber, auto or metro is the best way to commute in Bangalore. Take your pick and head to Bangalore Palace next. 

Bangalore Palace

Now a metro city, Bangalore holds its’ share of history. Going back in the 18th-century, the palace is built as a fortified fort during the Wadiyar dynasty. The interiors are well-decorated with intricate wooden work. However, the palace draws its inspiration from the Tudor theme & Gothic architecture. 

The interiors however largely speak volumes of Hindu culture. The bright walls painted with Hindu elements, elegant furniture, alluring chandeliers, and intricate ceilings. The balconies carved with fine wooden work and the floors decorated with imprinted tiles. The rooms are adorned with colorful pillars and simplistic arches. The huge decorated doors and large windows beautify the interiors of the palace. 

An underdog in tourism is a must-see place in Bangalore. The entry fee for the Palace is 250₹ or 4.5$ for Indians & 450₹ (7$) for foreigners with a photography charge. Although the hefty fee of 700₹ (10$) for photography was a spoiler me. Despite all these hefty charges, Bangalore Palace should be on your check-list for things to do in Bangalore in one day. 

Take a lunch break before heading off to your next destination. 

Bangalore in One Day: Evening

Tipu sultan palace.

Bengaluru’s history dates back to the Cholas, Mughals, and then the British empire. Tipu Sultan was one of the most progressive leaders of the Mysore empire who rules Bengaluru. Tipu Sultan’s Palace is one of the most visited places in Bangalore. 

A classic example of Indo-Islamic architecture, with interiors of teakwood. A medley of brown and golden shades embellishes the pillars, balconies and the durbar hall. The ornate work is visible on the arches & galleries of the palace. I highly recommend visiting the palace for reminiscing with the history of this high-tech city. 

Reach the Tipu Sultan’s summer Palace before the closing time of 17h30m local time. 

Head back for a scrumptious meal in the Indira Nagar where you will be spoilt for choices. Try Burma Burma for vegetarian & Vegan food choices, but make an appointment as it is usually busy at dinner time. I couldn’t relish a meal there because of waiting up to an hour, so I tried The Pizza Bakery instead. Loved their decor, I always love the ambiance decorated with plants. Their sluggish service didn’t bother me as I wanted to enjoy the “Me” time. 

Where to stay in Bengaluru

Bengaluru is a business city with numerous options of hotels to choose from. Be it hostels, hotels or even Airbnb , there’s no dearth of choices for every sort of requirement.

– Backpacker’s Panda –  I  chose to stay in a hostel this time & tried Backpacker’s Panda in Indira Nagar.

The hostel is adorned with murals & wall art. In the prime residential area, the huge lawn & sitting area on the entrance is incredible. The hostels have separate dorms for women & men, and the bathrooms are supplied with bathtub & tissues. With only a day in Bangalore, I couldn’t enjoy my time in the hostel much. But I realized it pretty quick, the staff was extremely friendly and people in general nice there. It is one of the most sought hostels in the city with some people staying for longer durations of more than a month. The chance to make friends, great accommodation & at an amazing price is Backpacker’s Panda for you. Despite my first time in a hostel, I felt pretty safe there, which is why I can recommend it to all those who love to stay in hostels.

If you prefer to stay in hotels with the privacy of own room & services, here are some of the best hotels in the city for you – 

–  Radisson Blu Atria – The Radisson chain is already a great starter for me. With the advantage of location & mouth-watering cuisine, the hotel is one of the best places to stay in Bangalore. A perfect spot for the business & corporate traveler who like to combine luxury within their budget.

– Fortune Select Trinity – A perfect hotel for the families with their amazing babysitting services. Those who love gorgeous interiors with bathtubs and ironing facilities, Fortune is an amazing choice for those.

It is definitely not enough to delve into Bengaluru in one day. The city demands more but just a day was enough for me to love the city. If you have a few days in Bangalore, I suggest heading to Coorg , especially for the love of coffee. I was supposed to too, but my plans changed, but I am definitely going back soon.

Ah the Garden City, Shivani. I loved Bangalore! We stayed for roughly a week. Plenty of walking around town. Plus we spent time during the cool season so things got brisk at night. What a fun time.

I am not sure if this could be a good suggestion, but, after a quick visit to Tippu’s Palace, evening can be best spent at Lalbagh Garden, followed by some eateries near Gandhibazaar and Basavanagudi which are close by.

Bangalore Itinerary: how to spend one day in Bangalore

This post is a Bangalore itinerary about how to spend one day in Bangalore. Bangalore, also known as Bengaluru, is the capital of the Indian state of Karnatak a and one of the largest cities in South India.

Bangalore has a rich history that dates back to the 16th century when it was a small village. During the British colonial rule in India, Bangalore became an important center for the British army and saw significant development. After India gained independence, Bangalore transformed into a major center for science, technology, and aerospace industries.

Nowadays, Bangalore is a very modern and progressive city famous for its information technology and known as the Silicon valley of India. 

Why visit Bangalore

Bangalore might lack any big tourist attractions, but it is a pleasant city to spend some time in. First of all, Bangalore is less chaotic and hectic as some other big Indian cities like Delhi or Jaipur . Second of all, Bangalore is a green city full of lush gardens and beautiful parks. At last, Bangalore’s higher elevation means a moderate climate. 

Bangalore is also a very dynamic city with a young population. As a result, the city has lots of trendy cafes, beer pubs and a great choice of restaurants. As Bangalore attracts people from all over India, you can find every regional cuisine there is. 

With a few historic sights and lots of culture and food, Bangalore is definitely worth a visit. In this post I will explain the best way to spend one day in Bangalore.  

A one day in Bangalore itinerary

Spending one day in Bangalore is enough to see the city’s attractions and include some of it’s best culinary experiences. Bangalore is a great city for those that love food. In this one day Bangalore itinerary I will focus mostly on South Indian cuisine, but you should know that in Bangalore you can get anything you want. 

If there is one reason to spend more than one day in Bangalore, it is the food. Ever wanted to try Gujarati or Bengal cuisine? There will be a restaurant in Bangalore for sure. And if you are tired of Indian food and want something else. Bangalore has that too. 

I personally love the tastes of South India that are so different from the north. Bangalore is a great city to explore the variety that exists in South Indian cuisine and therefore I will share the best places to try some of my favourite South Indian dishes in Bangalore. 

Breakfast at Airlines Hotel

There are so many great breakfast places in Bangalore that it will be hard to say what is the best. My personal favourite is a South Indian breakfast of Idli Vada with sambar . Airlines Hotel is conveniently located near Cubbon Park where you can start your one day Bangalore itinerary

Cubbon Park

The best place to start your one day Bangalore itinerary is the greenery of Cubbon Park. This park is 150 years old and is home to hundreds of plants and flower species. It is very popular among Bangaloreans and you can join the locals on their early morning walk. 

Cubbon park is a gentle introduction to Bangalore and is centrally located near some of the most popular shopping streets like MG road and Brigade road. The park has a colonial history and is surrounded by other british era historic buildings such as the vidhana soudha, the high court and the library.   

Nearest Metro station : Cubbon Park or Ambedkar Vidhana Soudha

If you leave Cubbon park at the southern entrance near Kempegowda tower and the Hudson Memorial church it is a 30 minute walk to the Raja market. The biggest reason to visit this bustling part of Bangalore is to see the famous flower market. 

KR Market is a multi floor building where almost every vendor at the ground floor sells flower garlands. It is a fragrant and colorful sight that is best seen from above. Personally, I always love the hustle and bustle from the markets in India and this was one of my favourite places in Bangalore.

I decided to walk from Cubbon Park to the KR market. You can also opt to take the metro or an uber. If you plan on taking an uber you should take into account that the Raja market area is a labyrinth of narrow and crowded streets that are hard to navigate for vehicles. 

Walk : 30 minutes from Cubbon Park

Nearest Metro station : Chickpet

Jamia Masjid

South of the KR market along busy NR road and SJP road is the muslim area of Bangalore. A great place to explore on foot. As a non vegetarian it is in the muslim areas that I often find the best meat curries and kebabs and Bangalore also did not dissapoint in that regard.  

At first sight the area around NR road is not very scenic, but look closely and you will find some interesting muslim shrines and several mosques. At last, the jamia masjid is hard to miss. This is the largest mosque in Bangalore and can accommodate up to 10,000 devotees.

The mosque is quite impressive. It was designed by an architect from Hyderabad and is made from white marble from Rajasthan. There are special prayers on the death anniversary of Tipu Sultan when thousands of people gather at the mosque

Walk : 10 minutes from KR flower market

Bangalore Fort

Bangalore Fort is one of the oldest structures in Bangalore. It’s history goes back to Kempe gowda. A chieftain from the Vijayanagara empire, the same empire famous for the magnificent ruins of its capital Hampi . 

Kempe Gowda is the founder of Bangalore and was the first to build fortifications. His vision was to develop a new city that would equal Hampi. The original Bangalore fort was from mud with a trench and nine entrance gates.  

In 1758 Hyder Ali, the ruler of the kingdom of Mysore , captured Bangalore. He decided to renovate the fort and strengthen it with stone. His son Tipu Sultan further extended the fort and even built a summer palace. 

He could only enjoy his palace in Bangalore for a short while as the British army took hold of Bangalore fort in 1791. Now all that remains is the Delhi gate and some parts of the thick fortress walls. 

Walk : 10 minutes from Jamia Masjid or flower market

Nearest Metro station : Krishna rajendra market

Tipu Sultan’s Summer palace

A 7 minute walk down the road from the Bangalore Fort is Tipu’s Sultan summer palace. This short walk gives you an idea how large the Bangalore Fort was as the palace was once within its walls. 

Tipu Sultan’s summer palace was built completely from teak wood, just like his summer palace in Srirangapatna. Tipu Sultan was known as the tiger of Mysore and fought several wars against the British army. He was eventually killed by the British in his fort in Srirangapatna in 1799. 

The small, but beautifully decorated palace also has a small museum about Tipu Sultan and his achievements. 

Walk : 7 minutes from Bangalore Fort

Lunch at Vidyarthi Bhavan

After a long morning of walking and sightseeing it’s time for lunch. The South Indian restaurant of Vidhyarti Bhavan is on the way between Tipu Sultan’s palace and Lalbagh botanical garden. It’s the perfect lunch stop, not only because of its location, but most of all because of its excellent butter masala dosas. 

Dosas are south indian rice pancakes and they are one of my favourite lunch dishes when in South India. Vidhyarti Bhavan has served them for more than 75 years now. Many say they are the best you can get in Bangalore. The benne dosas are indeed very delicious and a must try.    

Walk : 10 minutes from National College Metro station, 30 minutes from Tipu Sultan’s palace (best to take the metro from Krishna rajendra market to national college metro and then walk, or take an uber).

Lalbagh Botanical garden

After a full stomach you can choose to either walk 20 minutes to Lalbagh garden or take an uber. Lalbagh garden is even older than Cubbon park. It was Hyder Ali that planned the botanical garden, but like the renovation of the Bangalore Fort it was Tipu Sultan that finished it. 

Tipu Sultan wanted it to be like the Mughal gardens from Persia that also adorned many of the Mughal architecture in places like Delhi and Agra . He imported plants and trees from different countries. 

When the British Army took over Bangalore they also took over the management of the garden. They planted more trees and added a bandstand as well as a glass house. 

Nowadays the garden is a very popular place for Bangaloreans and tourists. Although there are still bonsai, rose and lotus gardens, other parts feel more like a huge park with walkways and vendors selling cold drinks and snacks. Nevertheless it is a very nice place to hang out in Bangalore  

Walk : 30 minutes from Vidhyarti bhavan (consider uber)

Bangalore Palace

Bangalore palace. I am still not sure whether I liked it or not. I thought it was a weird structure that seemed out of place even in a city as eclectic as Bangalore. 

The massive palace grounds were bought by the Mysore Royal Family that wanted to have a place to stay for the Maharaja prince that was going to Bangalore for his education. 

In 4 years they built a somewhat pompous palace. Apparently the building was inspired by Windsor castle in England which explains the towers. Part of the palace is open to visitors. 

Inside you can visit an open courtyard on the ground floor. A decorated staircase with paintings leads to the yellow Durbar hall. The interior sometimes reminded me a bit of Mysore Palace because of the use of bright colours and pillars.  

The palace is still in the hands of the Mysore royal family. To earn money the palace also has an attraction park for kinds. Besides a well mainted small garden, most of the public grounds are neglected and only occasionally used for public events. 

Nearest Metro : there is not really a nearby metro station within walking distance, best to take an uber. 

Dinner at Mavalli tiffin room

Mavalli tiffin room (MTR) is Bangalore’s oldest and most famous restaurant. It is so popular that it is recommended to make a reservation in advance. There are several branches in Bangalore and they even went abroad to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Dubai. 

The restaurant at Lalbagh is where it all started in 1924. The menu is mostly South Indian dishes, but with some local specialities and inventions. Apparently Rava idli was a MTR invention during World War 2 when rice was in short supply. 

MTR is the best place to try food from Karnataka. One of their specialties is Bisibele bath. A rice dish with lentils, vegetables, nuts and spices. You can’t really go wrong with a South Indian thali either. 

Nearest Metro : there are several branches throughout Bangalore. Close to Bangalore Palace is Namma MTR

More than one day in Bangalore

What if you have more than one day in Bangalore? Although with this Bangalore itinerary you have seen most of what the city has to offer there are also a number of day trips you can take. One of the most popular day trips is to the scenic Nandi hills or the ancient temple complex in Lepakshi.  

Bangalore itself also has a number of museums and temples that are not included in this itinerary. It would take years to visit all of Bangalore’s temples. Some noteworthy temples are the new and impressively large ISKCON temple, the Nandi temple with a large statue of the nandi the bull and the Kote Venkateshwara temple, the oldest temple in the city. 

One day in Bangalore travel tips

Where to stay in bangalore.

Where to stay in Bangalore depends a lot on how long you will stay in the city. If you are staying only one day in Bangalore I would choose a central location. Bangalore is a big city and with the congested traffic it is very easy to underestimate the time it takes to get around. 

Locul central is close to Cubbon Park and is a clean and professional hostel if you don’t mind staying in a dormitory. Locul uptown from the same owner is near Bangalore palace and has both dormitories as well as private rooms.

Because of my internship I had to stay for extended times in Bangalore. A great budget option that was not too far from the place I worked was the Little blue window hostel at BTM lay-out. A safe neighbourhood with lots of restaurants and trendy cafes.

Other safe neighbourhoods with great facilities for long term stays are Koramangala and Indiranagar.  

How to get around in Bangalore

The thing I remember most from Bangalore is the traffic. When I was in Bangalore I travelled every day from my hostel to the office. On the map it only looked like a small distance, but it almost took me an hour by bus. It probably would have taken the same amount of time if I had simply walked. 

If you have only one day in Bangalore you should take this into account. Getting around Bangalore isn’t always easy and might take longer than you expect. I also have good news though. The best tourist attractions are not that far from each other. 

This one day Bangalore itinerary can almost all be done on foot. Otherwise it is just a short uber ride to the next place. Only Bangalore palace is a bit out of the way and would probably involve the typical Bangalore traffic experience.  

The Bangalore metro, or Namma metro started in 2011 and is a great way to dodge the crazy Bangalore traffic. Most central locations and tourist sights are within walking distance of a metro station. So far there is a green line and a purple line. 

My recommendation is to travel by metro if you can. It is a safe and quick way to get from A to B.

Uber and Ola

Uber is a good way to get around in Bangalore for short distances. India has its own similar business called Ola cabs that is even more popular. The good thing about both Ola and Uber is that it is cheaper than a tuk tuk and you do not need to negotiate the price. Both offer a pool option in which you share your ride with others that makes it even more affordable.

Ola also has a tuk tuk option that is one of the best and most affordable ways to travel for shorter distances. I never had to wait long for an Ola or Uber to come and most of the time when I ordered the pool option I had no other passengers.

I travelled a lot by bus in Bangalore, but it honestly took me a while to figure things out. If you are staying only one day in Bangalore I can’t really recommend taking a bus. Because of the traffic they are slow and the timings on google maps aren’t always right. I sometimes had to wait a long time for the right bus to arrive. 

How to get to Bangalore

Bangalore is a city that has great connections by trains and buses from all over India. Convenient night trains run to Hampi, Chennai and Goa , but you can go as far as Mumbai and Delhi if you want to.  

You can check the train time tables and book your tickets online directly through the Indian railways (IRCTC). Unfortunately this is not always a straightforward process. For a small extra fee you can use 12goAsia or Makemytrip . 

When to visit Bangalore

The best time to visit Bangalore is from September till March when the climate is pleasant with cool and dry conditions. During these months, temperatures average between 15°C and 25°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities and sightseeing.

In April and May it starts to get very hot in Bangalore. June is the start of the monsoon season when the city experiences heavy rainfall, providing a welcome relief from the hot and humid conditions.

Sustainable Travel in Bangalore

Bangalore is a very green and clean city compared to other Indian cities. Tourism is growing though and has both positive and negative impacts. Traveling sustainably in Bangalore, involves conscious choices that minimize your environmental impact and support the local community.

Support the local community:  You can support the community by purchasing goods and services from local vendors, artisans, markets and restaurants. It is better to try South Indian cuisine that uses local ingredients rather than imported foreign foods. South Indian food is very vegetarian friendly and it is easy to follow a vegan diet.

Stay in small scale sustainable hotels : It is also better to stay in locally-owned guesthouses or homestays to support the local economy directly. These accommodations often have a more positive impact on the environment compared to large hotels.

Where possible, I can recommend staying in a homestay for an authentic cultural experience. You might want to bring a small book with pictures of your family to break the ice.

You can also try to look for guesthouses or homestays that prioritizes sustainable practices. That said, environmental awareness is still low. It’s up to you to use water sparsely, turn off lights, air conditioning, and heating when leaving your accommodation.

Use public transport : Bangalore has a well-developed public transportation system. Opt for public transport, whenever possible, instead of private cars to reduce carbon emissions.

Respect the culture : Besides environmental concerns it is also important to respect the culture. Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka with a Hindu majority. Therefore, learn about the local customs and traditions beforehand and be mindful of your behavior.

People will appreciate it, if you dress modestly, especially at religious sites. Learning a few basic phrases in Kannada, can go a long way in building meaningful connections and to learn more about the local culture. Not everybody is happy to have their picture taken. When in doubt, ask permission.

One Day in Bengaluru!

Bengaluru (or Bangalore) - The capital of the southern state Karnataka, having had a hell lot of public parks and nice green cover, has been eminent as the “Garden city of India”. However, In recent years the city earned a different nickname, “The Silicon City of India”, but on a cost of becoming a concrete jungle.

I was on a trip to the state but had an extra day before I catch my flight back to pune, So I decided to roam around the city. Although the city has a lot to offer, I would agree if people tend to refrain from traveling due to bad traffic conditions, especially on weekdays. But if you do have one day, I would like to help you get the most of Bengaluru with minimum traffic mishaps.

Here is the map of places you can visit in a day (even a weekday), avoiding traffic.

By the end of the trip, you would probably be thankful to BMRCL for the joyful metro rides.

As you can see, most places are in vicinity to metro routes, thus avoids traffic. The maximum distance you’ll have to cover by road would be for HAL Museum, i.e. 6 kms from Swami Vivekananda Metro Station.

City Tips :

• Don’t be worried about language barrier here as most people can understand Hindi and English very well.

• Since you’ll be travelling in Metro for most parts, I’ll suggest you buy a smart card instead of token tickets. Apart from the 15% discounted fares, It’ll help you save time as you won’t have to stand in queue, plus you have the flexibility to exit at any station.

• The smart card comes with a 5 year validity, so can also help you in your future visits to the city. Although the recharged amount is valid for a year only.

• Got Baggage? Well, that’s no trouble! If you’ll be travelling by train, you can put your baggage at some store inside Orion mall, which is near to Yeshwantpur Junction.

• In case travelling by flight, you have Central mall at MG Road as the alternate. Of-course, you can use other facilities like Railway cloak room, but that’ll involve time and money.

1. Lalbagh Botanical Garden

• Nearest Metro Station : Lalbagh Station of Green Line (300 mtrs from west gate)

• Entry fee: Rs 20 Per Person

Located in the heart of city, built around a tower built by Kempegowda, the founder of Bengaluru, Lalbagh is a prime tourist attraction. Spread over around 250 acres, having variety of flora and fauna, trees more than 100 years old, it is a delight for photographers and nature lovers. The most fascinating part being the garden’s internal irrigation system. The garden also features an aquarium, a lake, different themed gardens and is home to the famous Glass house, similar to London’s crystal palace, which host two annual flower shows. The metro station is situated near the west gate, which opens up to the lake. You can take e-vehicle to explore the main sections of the garden.

2. Breakfast at Vidyarthi Bhavan, KR Market or MTR, Lalbagh Rd

• Nearest Metro: National College Station or Lalbagh Station of Green Line

Serving since 1943, Vidyarthi Bhavan started as a canteen to carter nearby schools (hence the name). Located amidst Bangalore's oldest and busiest market, the restaurant has become the place of city’s food heritage. Their limited menu offers very authentic south Indian breakfast meals, most popular being the very crispy benne dosa, which the waiters very skillfully carry in dozens. Although, it's not about just dosa - their Rave wada, Kesari bath and filter coffee ( or rather, kappi ) are amongst the best. Their dining hall offers a very vintage experience, nostalgic to the native people and has hosted giants such as chief ministers. Although you’ll have to wait in a long queue, share the table and be quick in eating, the experience is worth the visit.

Mavalli Tiffin Rooms - MTR, Lalbagh Road

• Opening Hours: 6:30–11 am 12:30–8:30 pm, Monday Closed

• Nearest Metro: Lalbagh Station of Green Line (1.3 Kms, Near Lalbagh Main Gate)

Formally known as the Brahmin Coffee Club, later named Mavalli Tiffin Rooms after the locality - MTR started in 1924. Having had a long journey of serving for decades, MTR has become the icon of the city’s food culture, an important landmark, and a huge brand, having branches not just in India but in Dubai and Singapore as well. The restaurant pays special attention towards hygiene and cleanliness after its owner went Europe to study cleanliness in restaurants there. It is said the famous rava idli was invented here, by the owner’s grandfather due to shortage of rice during World war II. Often visited by celebrities (even Yash Chopra once) as well as politicians and their visit has also brought certain honor to the restaurant.

3. Bull Temple – Basavanagudi

The Bull temple is one of the oldest temple of Bangalore, dedicated to Nandi, known in Hindu mythology as Shiv's vehicle. Although I didn't find the temple impressive, the temple has an exciting legend associated with it. Also has Ganpati temple and Bugle rock garden adjacent to it.

5. Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace

• Opening Hours: 10.00 am –6.00 pm

• Nearest Metro: Lalbagh Station of Green Line (400 mtrs)

Located at KR Market, built around year 1791 the palace was summer residence of Tipu Sultan. Although, there isn't much to see as the palace is very small, you can take a stroll and combine it with Lal Bagh.

6. Vidhana Soudha

• Nearest Metro: BR Ambedkar Vidhana Soudha Station of Purple Line

Constructed in Mysore Neo-Dravidian style in 1956, the State legislature of Karnataka - Vidhana Soudha and adjacent to it - Atta Kacheri, the High Court of Karnataka are both architectural masterpieces. Although entry to these buildings is restricted, their all lighted up exterior offers a mesmerizing view in the night. Being just near to Metro Station (just outside the exit), it is very accessible and worth taking photos.

7. Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath and National Gallery of Modern Art

• Nearest Metro: Mantri Square Station of Green Line (1.4 kms)

Chitrakala Parishat is a renowned school of art, a place where you can appreciate art and culture. Established in 1960, KCP is a paradise for art-lovers and hosts a number of art exhibition and shows round the year, most popular being the annual Chitra Santhe during January. Chitrakala Parishat combined with National Gallery of Modern Art consists of around 13 galleries, making them a popular tourist spot.

8. Bangalore Palace

• Nearest Metro: Mahalaxmi Station of Green Line (3.1 kms), Cubbon Park Station of Purple Line (2.8 kms)

• Entry Fee : Rs. 240 Per person for Indians, Rs 460 for Other. Camera and phone charges extra.

Built to resemble Windsor Castle, the palace was built in 1887 in European Tudor Style. The palace is surrounded by a vast garden, known as palace ground. Although very small, the palace looks amazing but one thing that I didn't like was their over-expensive entry fee, that too for such a small palace.

9. ISKCON Bengaluru and Orion Mall

• Nearest Metro: Mahalaxmi Station of Green Line (450 mtrs)

Being near Railway Station and easily accessible through metro, the temple has become is probably most visited destination in Bangalore. One of the largest ISKCON temple in the world.

The beautiful ambiance of the temple complex also featuring a small pond, along with Hare Rama-Hare Krishna chants make the atmosphere very serene and peaceful. It also offers great view of nearby buildings. The temple is very well planned, efficiently managed to handle the crowd and is a must visit.

10. Government Aquarium, Cubbon Park

• Nearest Metro: Cubbon Park Station of Purple Line

Although poorly managed, The aquarium is adjacent to Cubbon park and has a nominal ticket of Rs 10. Said be the second largest museum in India, has a verity of exotic fishes. You can combine it with MG Road.

11. Mahatma Gandhi Road/Brigade Road/Commercial Street

• Nearest Metro: MG Road Station of Purple Line

Home to a number of Branded stores (Jack N Jones, Levis, Baggit, Vero Moda, Louis Phillipe), local shops (selling locally-made items such as handicrafts) as well as many fancy exotic restaurants (many offering international cuisines such as Rim Nam- Thai, Memories of China and Yauatcha- Chinese, Hae kum Gang - Korean), coffee shops (Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, CCD) and high-end pubs (Hard Rock Cafe, Purple Haze) - MG Road is a bustling treat for shopaholics, a true paradise for foodies and the most happening night life place of the city.

12. Shivoham Shiva Temple, Kempfort Mall

• Nearest Metro: Indranagar Station of Purple Line(3.8kms) or Swami Vivekananda Station of Purple Line (4 kms)

A very well maintained temple, known for beautiful giant Shiva statue about 65.5 feet tall, surrounded by artificial snow and 32 feet tall Lord Ganesha statue. Although the place has been overly-commercialized, the experience is mesmerizing, right from a shiv-linga like entrance, the main statue resembling Mount Kailash (even having an artificial lake similar to Man Sarovar), and a cave inside which there are small replicas of important Shiv temples (Jyotirlings) of India, making it a must visit.

13. HAL Museum

• Entry Fee: Rs 50 for adult, Rs 100 extra for flight simulator

• Nearest Metro: Indranagar Station of Purple Line (6.2kms) or Swami Vivekananda Station of Purple Line (5.9 kms)

Established in 2001, the museum is India's first Aerospace Museum showcasing India's journey in aviation. Very well maintained, one can have nice look at the history of how aviation in India evolved as well as see a range of actual aircraft models.

2024 LIV Golf Adelaide final results: Prize money payout, leaderboard and how much each golfer won

T he 2024 LIV Golf Adelaide final leaderboard is headed by winner Brendan Steele, who earned his LIV Golf win at The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide, Australia.

Steele won the tournament with a one-shot victory over Louis Oosthuizen on 18-under 198.

Five players finished tied for third place on 16-under total, including Jon Rahm , Andy Ogletree, Charl Schwartzel, Joaquin Niemann and the last tournament's winner, Dean Burmester.

Steele won the $4,000,000 winner's share of the $20,000,000 purse for the individual competition.

LIV Golf Adelaide recap notes

Steele earned no Official World Golf Ranking points with the win. The OWGR does not offer points to 54-hole events above the developmental level.

There are no cuts in LIV Golf events, with 54 players finishing the event in the fifth completed event of the season.

In the team competition, the Ripper team finished tied with Stinger, necessitating a playoff. In the playoff, Ripper won on the second playoff hole, with the four team members ( Cam Smith , Marc Leishman, Matt Jones and Lucas Herbert ) earning $3 million for the franchise. The Stinger earned $1.5 million by finishing in second, with the HyFlyers finishing third and earning $500,000.

The last lap of any race should feature an all-out sprint or pedals to the floor. In more ways than one, that describes the expectation at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson.

A full field of 156 is ready to go at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. For what’s at stake, how the course will test in its fourth year as the host and more can be found beneath the ranking of those projected to contend for the title.

Of course, winning opens the most doors, but the lunge for the latest tape will require a scorer’s mentality throughout the tournament.

After its first two editions as one of the easiest par 72s on the schedule, TPC Craig Ranch transitioned into one of the easiest par 71s last year when the 12th hole was shortened and modified to a par 4. While it evolved from the easiest hole on the course in 2022 to the second-hardest in relation to par a year later, it still didn’t register as among the toughest 20 percent of par 4s played all season. Overall, the field averaged 68.913 on the 7,414-yard test.

As is the case with every shootout, leading the field in scoring opportunities isn’t enough. The putts need to drop as well. TPC Craig Ranch sets a stage for guys to find a groove and ride it across multiple rounds. Decent-sized putting surfaces blanketed with bentgrass are governed to just 11 ½ feet on the Stimpmeter – they need to prepare to withstand quintessential Texas wind – so flagsticks will be in crosshairs more than usual.

Breezes do a fair job of inflating measurements from holes on approach, but the ground game at TPC Craig Ranch is rewarded. Last year, the field’s average in salvaging pars from off greens nearly two-thirds of the time, ranking second-easiest among 58 courses played.

Storms are almost as guaranteed as the wind this week. There’s a reasonable threat during every round. Because the invisible force will flex at times, native Texans always have an edge because they find the strongest pulse. Daytime highs might not touch 80 degrees, so these will not be sweltering conditions. (Wednesday’s Golfbet Insider will include a revisit of the weather.)

Another surprise: Tom Hoge, a 28-1 longshot, makes a strong run at the title. He has a much better chance to win it all than his odds imply, so he's a target for anyone looking for a huge payday.

*NSYNC's appearances over the last year have stirred up so much excitement that two major tour promoters are bidding on a possible reunion stadium tour ... convinced the group could pack stadiums and be one for the history books.

Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... both Live Nation and AEG have thrown their hats in the ring, reaching out to the members of the popular boy band just a couple weeks ago to let the guys know they're down to explore the idea of a tour.

We're told their interest was piqued, especially after witnessing the love and support the group received last year when they reunited for a song in the latest 'Trolls' movie.

Our sources say the buzz surrounding their 2023 MTV VMAs appearance and their surprise cameo at Justin Timberlake 's L.A. show in March was the icing on the cake for the promoters.

Our sources say both promoters have presented the group with some serious financial numbers, although they would not be specific.

Our sources say the group is mulling over the offers, but we're told no decisions are close to being made. If the reunion stadium tour were to happen, it wouldn't be until 2025.

Lance Bass and Joey Fatone have been expressing their enthusiasm for a reunion. Remember, JT is currently focused on his solo music endeavors with his new album and 2024 tour, which doesn't wrap until December.

Places Covered: Lalbagh Botanical Gardens:   This is a world-renowned botanical garden which was commissioned by Hyder Ali in 1760 and was completed by his son Tipu Sultan. Spread across an area of 180 acres, the garden houses over 1000 species of trees and plants. A 3000 million-year-old rock, named Lal Bagh rock is the main attraction here. Bangalore Palace: Spread across 45,000 Sq Ft. Is the Bangalore Palace which was built in 1878. This marvellous edifice has a mix of Tudor and Scottish architecture styles along with wooden carvings on the exterior and interior that add elegance to the complete design. Nandi Temple:   This temple is a dedication to Nandi - a sacred bull who is the gatekeeper and vehicle Lord Shiva. Built during the reign of Vijayawada - Kempe Gowda ruler, this temple is one of the oldest in Bangalore and largest Nandi temple in the world. Cubbon Park: Cubbon Park in Bangalore is spread over 300 acres of land and is part of the green belt in the city with around 6000 trees. This park was laid down by Lord Cubbon after whom the place is named. The Park apart from having a rich flora and fauna also has many other attractions including India's second-largest aquarium. ISKCON Temple: Known as Shri Radhe Krishna temple, it is a shrine of Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha. This ISKCON Temple is one of the largest in the world and is especially known for its architecture and engaging activities and is one of the best places to visit in, one day tour in Bangalore. Vidhana Soudha: The Vidhana Soudha houses the State Legislature and Secretariat of Karnataka, it is the largest state legislature building in India and one of the most popular attractions in Bangalore. Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace: This palace was once the summer retreat of the ruler of Mysore - Tipu Sultan. Situated in the Bangalore Fort, this palace has alluring Indo-Islamic architecture which displays decorative frescoes, intricate motifs and high arches. It is also known as the Abode of Happiness and Rash e Jannat' which means 'Envy of Heaven'. Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum: This museum situated in Cubbon Park was built in the memory of Sir M Visvesvaraya and was inaugurated in 1962 by India's first Prime Minister. Spread over an area of 43,000 sq ft, the museum houses different scientific experiments and themes on exhibit.
