From tripod positioning to maximizing natural light, these seven tips explain how to optimize your virtual office tour.

my office tour

This article was originally published by Allwork.Space .

Virtual office tours are experiencing a boom, for obvious reasons. But the savviest operators were leveraging this technology way before the pandemic hit.

Known in the marketing world as ā€˜sticky contentā€™, virtual tours engage prospective members by enabling them to experience your location without leaving your website. Sure, theyā€™ll likely want to come see it in person too, but it means they will do so as a more ā€˜qualifiedā€™ prospect.

What is a Virtual Tour?

A virtual tour, also referred to as a 360 panoramic tour or 3D virtual tour, shouldnā€™t be confused with a video tour. Video tours are a very effective marketing tool but they differ in that they only allow website visitors to see the point of view of the presenter or videographer.

Virtual office tours, on the other hand, provide visitors with control over their perspective, enabling them to zoom in on features and explore at their own pace.

Panoramic tours are created using a series of photographs or videos taken from one vantage point. The cameraā€™s lens rotates around the ā€˜no parallax pointā€™ ā€“ the specific point at the back of the lens where the light converges.

There are lots of companies out there who can create a virtual office tour for you, so donā€™t be afraid to outsource. If you decide to have a go yourself, youā€™ll need a camera which can shoot 360Ā° panoramic footage remotely and virtual tour software (or an app).

my office tour

How to Optimize Your 360 Virtual Office Tour:

1. plan your virtual office tour shots.

Compose a list of the areas in your workspace youā€™d like to include in your virtual tour ā€“ private offices, coworking areas, breakout spaces, kitchens, roof terraces, etc. Find a vantage point in each area that will enable you to capture all of its features. You could use the centre of the room. Failing that, select a more convenient spot and mark it with tape.

2. Prepare each space

Once youā€™ve planned the camera positions in each area, itā€™s time to prepare the room for the recording.Ā  Remove anything that will obstruct the cameraā€™s view, tidy up by organising desks and chairs neatly and take anything that might distract the viewer out of the shot. People like to work in environments with lots of natural light, so be sure to open any blinds.

3. Level your tripod

For image consistency and to ensure straight angles, youā€™ll need to make sure your tripod is level in every shot. Your tripod might come with its own spirit level ā€“ simply adjust the legs until the bubble is in the middle. If it doesnā€™t, you can download a leveling app using your smartphone.

4. Practice your shots

Practice makes perfect, as the old saying goes. Before uploading your content, take practice shots of each part of your workspace and analyse them. The first thing to look out for is whether you can see your cameraā€™s reflection in windows or mirrors.

If so, youā€™ll need to reposition your camera. Likewise, check for any distractions or darkness that will compromise the quality of your virtual office tour.

5. Take your photos

Once youā€™ve demo-ed your technology and framing, itā€™s time to get stuck in. Find the vantage point that youā€™ve marked out in each room, set up the tripod and take the pictures. You can check images as you go and retake photos before moving to the next area. Itā€™s better to have a selection to choose from than too few.

6. Upload your photos

Use your chosen virtual tour software or app to connect the images together and complete your virtual office tour. Youā€™ll have to upload your images and follow the prompts. Lots of programs enable you to optimize the viewers experience by adding features such as interactive links, audio descriptions, floor plans and music.

7. Share your virtual office tour

Embed the virtual tour into your website and share it across your social media channels. You can share a link to it in emails to any prospective members that come your way and you can also generate a QR code that links directly to the virtual tour when scanned.

Virtual Office Tour Examples

Staying up-to-date with the latest marketing and technology trends is important if you want to remain relevant in a competitive landscape.

Donā€™t be afraid to experiment and ask your peers for guidance when needed. Before embarking on your own virtual office tour journey, take a look at how other operators are utilizing the technology: check out Mindspace Ā in Bucharest andĀ  Knotel , in London, for instance.

For the past few years, I have been working from home as a software developer. Since I spend a good portion of my day here in the office, my goal was to create the most comfortable and productive workspace. Tour my office and desk setup below!

The Affordable Ikea Desk

For the past 7 years, I’ve used the same Ikea Gerton tabletop and metal legs, and theyā€™ve held up nicely. The solid beech wood desktop is stained with Honey by Minwax and sealed with Minwax Semigloss Polyurethane . The beauty of a solid wood top is that it can be sanded and refinished very easily.

Unfortunately, the Gerton desktop and Ikea desk legs are no longer sold. But I’d recommend taking a look at the Ikea Karlby Countertop if you’re looking for a wood desktop. While it’s a veneer, the walnut finish looks great.

I’ve recently been thinking about replacing the desk with a motorized standing desk or finding a set of motorized desk legs. Before working from home, I went into an office where I had a standing desk, and I would end up standing a few hours a day, which I would love to be able to do at home too.

Ergonomic Office Chair

The Herman Miller Embody Chair is one of my favorite items in the office. Most days I spend over 8 hours in the office, so having a comfortable, ergonomic chair is extremely important. If youā€™re working from home or spending an extended amount of time at your desk, I highly recommend spending a little more on a higher-end chair.

Check out my full Herman Miller Embody review here .

Ultrawide Monitor

The company I work at sent me a Dell UltraSharp 34ā€ Curved Monitor to use for working from home. Switching from a BenQ 34ā€ 4K monitor , Iā€™ve been really enjoying the aspect ratio of an ultrawide. However, I do miss the higher resolution and sharpness of 4K. If I were to have purchased a new monitor myself, I would have opted for the 38ā€ variant or gone with a larger 49ā€ ultrawide.

The best feature of the Dell UltraSharp is that I can seamlessly switch between my desktop and work MacBook. The monitor has a built-in USB hub where I have all of my peripherals connected. The MacBook connects to the monitor through a single USB-C cable that transmits both data and power. The desktop is connected with a Display Port cable and USB-A cable for the USB hub. Finally, I have an HDMI cable plugged in for when I want to play switch in the office.

The monitor is mounted to a Vivo Monitor Arm . The model that I chose is not the most adjustable but it was on the cheaper end. I donā€™t move the placement of my monitor often, so I didnā€™t need anything fancy. I love the extra desk real estate that a monitor arm provides along with the floating look it gives the monitor.

Computer and Laptop

My main personal computer is a custom-built Hackintosh that I built back in 2016. Some of the parts are starting to feel dated, but I did upgrade the graphics card a few years ago from a GTX 1080 to an RX 5700 XT because MacOS dropped support for Nvidia graphics cards. However, it’s still able to handle my workload of photo/video editing, Android development, and basic frontend web development.

A Hackintosh allows me to use MacOS for software development and for everyday use along with the ability to play games on Windows. However, the Hackintosh learning curve was a bit steep, and staying up to date with MacOS updates can be a time-consuming process. Iā€™ll most likely get an actual Mac when the time comes.

My employer provided me with an i9 16-inch MacBook Pro to use for work. The laptop usually stays docked on the desk, as Iā€™ve been completely remote.

Simple but functional Peripherals

A friend of mine got me into building mechanical keyboards a few years ago. This custom-built 60% Linear Keyboard is one that Iā€™m rotating back into the setup. I prefer my other 60% Tactile Keyboard, but I felt like switching things up.

The MX Master 2S Mouse has been rock solid. I thought about upgrading to the MX Master 3, but I couldnā€™t find a big enough reason. Iā€™ll probably wait until the next Logitech MX mouse is released.

I have a 720p Logitech Webcam for video calls. Itā€™s not very fancy but it does the job well. I only use it for video, as I use a headset with a mic for audio.

Home office setup ideas, best work from home desk, best home office setup for productivity, home office setup checklist, ergonomic home office products, best home office desk setup.

I never like wearing headphones for long periods of time, so I wanted to have a decent-sounding speaker setup. The speaker and subwoofer combination is definitely overkill for the size of the office, but the setup will be future-proof for when I move to a new space.

Recently, I havenā€™t been using the speaker setup as often because our sonā€™s nursery is next door to the office. I recently got a pair of Apple AirPods Pro shortly after switching to an iPhone. I find myself using the AirPods when I need to keep the sound to a minimum. The auto-switching feature on the AirPods makes it easy to switch between my desktop, laptop, phone, and iPad.

Studio Monitors

The speakers are HVL-1 studio monitors from a small company called Wavecrest. The sound quality is amazing for the price and I love that there is no branding anywhere on the speaker. Unfortunately, it seems that Wavecrest is no longer in business, but here are a few other speaker options I came across when researching speakers: ELAC Bookshelf Speakers , Fluance Elite Speakers , Cambridge Audio SX-50 Speakers .

Speaker Stands

The most recent addition to the setup are these Synthizer 3S-X Speaker Stands . Theyā€™re a simple 2 piece speaker stand with a few levels of adjustment. The stands elevate the speakers and slightly angle them up which points the speakers directly at ear level.

The sub is a 10-Inch Klipsch R-10SW 300W Subwoofer . Again, this is overkill for the size of the room, but I keep the gain extremely low to balance with the speakers.

Audio Amplifier

Iā€™m using an SMSL AD18 Amplifier to power the speakers. The amplifier is plugged into the USB hub, so it will also seamlessly switch between my desktop and laptop. The amplifier also has Bluetooth connectivity, so I can connect to other devices like the Nintendo Switch.

I ended up making my own custom-length speaker wire with MediaBridge Banana Plugs and Cable Matters Speaker Wire . The banana plugs make it simple to plug and unplug the speakers.

My employer was kind enough to also send me a Logitech Zone Wireless Headset which I solely use for video calls. The active noise cancellation is surprisingly good and the microphone quality is much better than the built-in mic on the webcam.

Desk Setup Accessories

I replaced the previous Steel Series Desk Mat with an Oakywood Felt and Cork Desk Mat . I love the textured look of felt in photos, but Iā€™ve found the material to be a little scratchy on the wrists. The next desk mat or mouse pad I’ll get will be leather.

To save desk space, I have a Macally Vertical Laptop Stand . Since the laptop stays docked on the desk most of the time, I have it tucked behind the monitor.

I picked up an Apple MagSafe Charger when I switched to an iPhone. I really like that the MagSafe design ensures that the phone is always properly aligned on the charger.

While power outages and surges are rare, I have all important hardware plugged into an APC UPS Battery Backup (newer model linked). An uninterruptible power supply will continue to provide power to devices along with providing surge protection. In the event of a power outage, the UPS will sound an audible alarm and will continue to power my desktop, monitor, and server equipment for 20-30 minutes, which is more than enough time to shut everything down safely.

Home Server Shelf

I was on the hunt for a shelf that would be able to hold hardware that required ventilation and have a way to neatly route cables. I eventually came across the Ikea Bekant shelf which ticked all the boxes. While it’s one of the more expensive items from Ikea, it’s very solid and was exactly what I was looking for.

Check out my dedicated post on the Ikea Bekant Shelf .

Synology Network Attached Storage

My wife and I store all of our files on this Synology DS418play NAS . A network attached storage is a storage device that’s connected to a home or office network. This allows us to share files easily, and be able to keep an archive of our documents and photos. Google Photos recently removed the unlimited photo and video backup feature, so we recently migrated to the Synology Photos app to back up our photos and video from our phones.

Smart Home and Media Server

We’ve been using Home Assistant for controlling our smart home automation since moving into our current house. I previously had it running on a Raspberry Pi, but it quickly became a bottleneck once I kept adding additional devices and automations. So I upgraded to an Intel i5 NUC (newer model linked) which has more than enough power for our Home Assistance instance. I also recently set up a Plex media server on the NUC. It’s been really convenient streaming local content to our TVs.

When researching baby monitors, I couldn’t find anything that would allow us to store footage locally. All of the baby monitors required some sort of cloud subscription. I did a bit of research and decided on trying out UniFi Protect running on an UniFi Cloud Key Gen 2 Plus since I was already using UniFi networking gear. UniFi had also just launched the $30 G3 Instant Camera . This solution has been a solid baby monitor along with a few security cameras around the house.

Networking Gear

A Netgear 8-Port Gigabit Switch and custom length Cat 6 ethernet cable were used to hardwire all of the equipment on the shelf. The office also has the UniFi AP AC Lite which provides WiFi for this floor of our townhouse.

I originally wanted to hide the Brother Laser Printer in the closet, but I realized that it fits perfectly in the Bekant Shelf. The printer itself has been great. I highly recommend a laser printer if you print infrequently since the toner that laser printers use doesn’t dry out ink in inkjet printers.

Sony Camera Battery Chargers

There’s a small battery charging station at the top of the Bekant unit. I just picked up the Nitecore Battery Charger for Sony A7IV batteries and love the additional charging information it shows over a normal battery charger. Finally, I have my Nintendo Switch and Pro Controllers on the Bekant for easy access.

Modern + Minimal Office Shelf

The shelf to the side of my desk is a CB2 Ladder Shelf . The 96″ height of the shelves fits perfectly with the 9 ft ceilings of the office. Highly recommend this shelf if you’re going for a modern minimal look – super sturdy and great quality!

The lower half of the shelves are used for functional storage or items that I need to access often like camera lenses, GoPros, keyboards, UE Megablast Bluetooth speaker, and a few leather storage bins. While the top shelves have decor and a small display of Apple boxes.

Office Lighting

Monitor light bar.

The most used light in the office is the BenQ ScreenBar Plus with Desktop Dial . This ScreenBar attaches to the top of the monitor, and the light emitted is directed down onto the desk surface. None of the light hits the screen, so there’s no added glare. The ScreenBar comes with a dial that controls brightness and color temperature. The dial also has a light sensor that can automatically dim the light bar as the light in the environment changes.

The ScreenBar is always on while I’m at my desk. During the day, it’s nice to have a little extra light since the office doesn’t get any direct sunlight. At night the ScreenBar is the only light I’ll turn on. The office stays dark and moody while preventing any eye strain from a bright monitor.

Nanoleaf Light Panels

Above the desk, I have a set of Nanoleaf Light Panels mounted on the accent wall. At night I’ll usually keep the color as pure white and turn the brightness way down to add a little fill light in the office.

Ceiling Light

The office has an 8-Light Semi Flush Mount ceiling fixture (similar Amazon option ) that’s paired with a hardwired GE Smart Switch . The smart switch allows us to control the light with either the Home Assistant dashboard on our phones or with a Google Assistant command.

Office Decor

I picked up a BMW F80 M3 a little over a year ago, so I was on the hunt for an M3 poster I could hang in the office. I eventually found HivePosters on Etsy, who sells a BMW M3 Evolution Poster . The poster contains all of the different M3 generations. I found out that the seller does custom orders, so I’m thinking of ordering a custom print of my exact car.

The print is framed in an 18×24 frame Fametory Metal Frame . We’ve tried a bunch of frames in the past and these are our favorite frames to achieve a modern minimal look.

I grew up playing with Legos and my dream motorcycle was a Ducati 899 Panigale, so it was a no-brainer to get a Lego Ducati Panigale V4 R for the office. I’d love to pick up a few more sets and build up a Lego Technic collection, but some of the sets get ridiculously expensive or are impossible to find. I was eying the Porsche 991 GT3 RS , but it appears to be discontinued and hard to come by.

Dark Accent Wall

I always loved the look of dark and moody setups. After comparing a bunch of different color swatches, I landed on Sherwin Williams Peppercorn in a matte finish. I found it to be a good middle ground between pure black and too light of a gray.

My Home Office Set Up and Tour

my office tour

What's up, everybody? I'm so excited, because today Iā€™m taking you on a tour of my home office!

Whether you work from home or a coffee shop or somewhere else, you're going to get a couple things out of this post.

First, you're just going to see the different kinds of work that I do and why it's important to have a specific environment where you do those certain things.

Second, hopefully it will also give you some inspiration for something to work toward when it comes to your own work spaceā€”because this is definitely not how it was for me in the beginning. It took a number of years and a lot of hard work to get this level. I'm not about dream cars and dream vacations and things like that; I'm about the dream office , because my office is where I produce a lot of what I create for you guys.

My Very First (Very Tiny) Office

I remember my very first office. It was in a one-bedroom apartment I shared with my wife, April, right after we got married. It was hardly any room at all; just a little dinky corner in the kitchen space. Check out this screenshot from a video I made way back in 2008.

My very first tiny home office

But the thing is, this tiny space worked really well for me. This goes to show that you don't necessarily need an incredibly spacious office. You just need a place to do your workā€”one that has whatever you need to get into that ā€œwork modeā€ mindset, whether youā€™re sitting down or standing up. As long as your location and setup helps you check in mentally to do the work you need to do, thatā€™s what matters.

My New Digs

From there, we rented a house and I had an office for the first time. That was really nice, because I had my own door that I could close. A few years later, we bought our own house. By that point, I had a really good idea of what I wanted in a working space, and I was willing to invest a lot of money to build one I would love. And thatā€™s what Iā€™ve done! I put a lot of thought and care into my current office space. The design process was especially cool because I got to tap into my architecture past to help make it happen. I created some design drawings and then shared them with an interior designer, who added her touches and shared them with the people who eventually built it all.

Ready to take the tour? Letā€™s go!

My Home Office Tour

Hereā€™s a shot of (most of) the space. It was definitely built from scratch and it's my dream office. I had it very specifically laid out for all the different things I do, and each space and item has a specific reason for being there. I'm going to share those things with you now!

Pat Flynn's home office tour

This room isn't that big; it's maybe 14 feet by 16 feet, but that space is utilized in a way that maximizes the productivity and usefulness of the entire space. As you can see, there isn't much wall space leftā€”but it's not just a bunch of shelves, either. Everything in here has been very strategically designed and placed.

The first thing you'll see is the large stand-up desk in the middle of the room. Standing up while working has been one of the best things for me in terms of staying focused and being able to get off my butt a little bit. Itā€™s nice to stand up. It's good for your back. And if I have to sit down, I can pull out one of the stools that are strategically placed underneath the desk so they don't take up much room!

Pat Flynn's standing desk

I use the standing desk to do some of my writing, but I also write on the board you see below. It's not really a whiteboardā€”it's a frosted glassboard. I like it better than a traditional whiteboard because it's a little more stylish. Regular dry erase whiteboards don't really do justice to some spaces, and I wanted to make sure this one looked really good and fit the space nicely.

Glassboard

The surface of the glassboard is writeable, so I can just go into one of the drawers located in the standing desk, pull out one of these markers and write on the surface. Then, if I want to, I can erase it using one of these chamois cloths. You might also recognize these Post-it notes from a previous blog post where I walked you through my book writing process .

Pat's post-it notes

Down on the ground on the left here is the infamous ā€œHello, My Name Is Patā€ backpack, which some of you may have seen on me at conferences!

Hello My Name is Pat

Now, I'll get into some of the other important parts of the space. To the left of standing desk is my planning area. As you can see, there are no computers here.

Pat's giant calendar

This is where I sit down to do my planning, scheduling, and things like that. This giant calendar essentially has my whole year laid out. I don't use this space very oftenā€”it's more decorative than anything most of the time, to be honest. But I still keep some interesting pieces over here! Hereā€™s my diploma from Cal.

Pat Flynn Cal diploma

And here is my foam roller. I sit on the floor here every once in a while and do some foam rolling to wake myself up if I'm feeling tired. It's good for the muscles and tissues, as well.

foam roller

To the right are some books you might recognize from posts I've written before. Hereā€™s a fun little tidbit for you: My interior designer, who I hired to help create the space, told me books look really good when you take the covers off. If you're trying to design a nice, elegant space, just take the covers off some of your hardcover books and set them out. Hereā€™s The 4-Hour Body , which you might recognize as a purple and orange book, but take the cover off and it's a nice-looking blue book for you to show off.

Pat Flynn's bookshelf

This is my hoverboard from Back to the Future Part II . It's not a real hoverboard, but it does look like one. I got it on Etsy.com.

Back to the Future II hoverboard

I'm a huge Back to the Future fan, if you couldn't tell already from the hoverboard, or the Back to the Future Lego Iā€™ve also got over here.

Back to the Future Lego

This next one is really cool. An artist who was a fan of SPI sent me this. If you look really closely, you can see some of the threading.

SPI fan art

Back to the center of the room, youā€™ll notice this large TV.

Pat's office tv

I do a lot of my writing right here. If you look underneath the table, you'll see some stools. Often, I'll pull out a stool, set up my laptop up here, and do some work.

Pat's office stool

I can also use Apple TV and Airplay to show what is on my laptop on the screen, as well. Letā€™s pull out my Logitech Bluetooth keyboard thatā€™s stored underneath the TV and fire up my Apple TV.

Keyboard

Then weā€™ll open up YouTube and see if we can find some Smart Passive Income videos. There we go!

Television

I like using this space as a ā€œlearning center.ā€ Iā€™ll watch course material or informative YouTube videos and take notes. It's almost like I'm watching a lecture, which is really cool. I find that I learn better sitting in this space as opposed to the area to the right with the computer screens, where itā€™s easier to be distracted.

Another thing I love to do at this table is practice my keynote presentations. Iā€™ll pull one up on the screen, then walk back and forth behind the table to practice my presentation while I look at the slides on the screen.

Practice keynote presentations

Letā€™s move down to the right, where I have my computers. This is the space where I actually spend most of my time. You'll notice these two iMacs, which I use to do a lot of my writing. My main screen on the right is one of the newer Retina display 27-inch iMacs, and the one on the left is an older 27-inch iMac.

Pat's iMac

To left of the screens is my podcasting mic and stand. Those of you who are podcasters might recognize the microphone as a Heil PR-40. This is an awesome podcasting mic (although the ATR2100 by Audio-Technica is great, as well).

Heil PR-40

The mic stand also shows off my Smart Passive Income mic flag, which is really cool. You can go to impactpbs.com to get your own.

Smart Passive Income mic

The mic arm is really handy because it connects right into my desk. I had to modify it to do that, though. The part that's supposed to keep it from sticking or moving around kept falling off, so I just said, ā€œHey, let's drill a hole in the counter and stick it there.ā€ And it works really well!

microphone stand

Typically when I'm podcasting, I swing the mic around and up so I can speak into it while standing. I like podcasting standing up. I feel like I have better volume, and Iā€™m more alert and focused. Iā€™ll often do Skype interviews this way, too.

SPI microphone setup

Let me show you some other cool parts of this space! The shelving area to the right of my computers was originally stacked full of books. When my interior designer came in to help me design my office, she loved this space so much that she wanted to take pictures of it for her portfolio. So she gathered lots of little books, boxes, coral, vases, and bottles from her house and brought them here. I liked the way she set it up so much that I half jokingly said, ā€œHey, Iā€™d love to buy that stuff off of you because it looks great there.ā€ She said, ā€œOkay!ā€ So I bought them from her and left them on the shelf, along with some of my camera stuff and other things that are important to me.

Pat's office shelves

You can see the trumpet up there. I played trumpet in marching band in high school and college.

Pat's trumpet

A bear, because I graduated from UC Berkeley.

Cal Bears

And of course, Iā€™ve got the Delorean with working gull wings, from Back to the Future Part II .

Back to the Future Delorean

This is a baseball signed by Nolan Ryan, my favorite baseball player. (Thank you, Azul, for hooking that up for me.)

Nolan Ryan signed baseball

This is a lightsaber. If you follow me on Instagram, you might remember I was Darth Vader for Halloween one year.

Lightsaber

I have a lot of storage space in here, as well. Another thing youā€™ll notice about this room is that the wires are virtually hidden. That's one thing that was important to me, because I didn't want to get distracted and I don't like seeing wires everywhere. All of that stuff is in the walls or inside the cabinets.

This cabinet is where all the internet stuff goes: my router, cables, and all that stuff.

Routers, cables

Over to the left, this cabinet is where my printer lives, as well as my sound mixer and scanner. You can't see it because it's so dark, but the printer is an HP Laserjet P1102W. It's the thinnest printer I've found, so it fits in that space really nicely.

Printer

You'll notice these red boards here. These are actually padded. This is more acoustical paneling on either side of the television here, which frames it quite nicely.

Acoustic panels

The windows are covered in gray Roman shades, which absorb sound, too. I like this little white border that my interior designer insisted be placed there. I'm really glad she did, because they look really good.

Roman shades

If you look up, you'll notice these track lights. These are something Iā€™d never had in a home before. They add some modern elements to the space, and can be used to highlight different parts of the room.

Track lighting

Up above, youā€™ll notice some more books and memorabilia, including stuff from my college years, and of course, more Back to the Future items.

Moving to the right, hereā€™s one of my favorite parts of the room. This is the banquette area (as my interior designer called it), and it's sort of my thinking area. A lot of cool things happen in this space. More on that shortly.

Banquette area

Above the couch, youā€™ll find an image of me at New Media Expo in 2014, presenting about how to convert your casual audience into raving fans. The cool thing about this piece of fabric is that it's not just a canvas; itā€™s a piece of acoustical fabric. It was custom printed on this fabric that absorbs sound from the room so thereā€™s less echo. You'll also see these Edison lights, which are really cool, on either side.

New Media Expo collage

To the right is possibly my absolute favorite part of the room. Behind all these cards is a 5-foot acoustic panel thatā€™s similar to the one over the couch. On this one, I've pinned all my thank-you notes and letters from fans of Smart Passive Income and people who I've helped with their businesses. This isn't all of them, not by far. When I'm feeling down and out and lacking motivation, I'll often just turn around and look at this board, and it always gets me fired up again. Some people have even sent me the first dollars they ever made online; one person sent me the first $5 they made online, because they promised that's what they would do.

SPI thank you notes

Thereā€™s so much cool stuff here. Someone sent me a CD with videos on it. Another person even sent me Magic cards because they knew I like Magic: The Gathering .

Right next to my thank-you board is my meditation chair. This is where I meditate using the device you see on the table there. Itā€™s also where I journal using my Five-Minute Journal. Weā€™ll come back to those two things in a minute here!

Meditation chair

This really cool table cuts away to reveal storage space I use for magazines.

Magazines

Back to the chair. This is my favorite chair in the room. Itā€™s actually an Ikea chair that I reupholstered for a couple hundred bucks. I do a lot of my thinking and reflection in this very chair, mainly in the morning. Hereā€™s my routine: Each morning I come downstairs, get a glass of water, then boil some water for my bulletproof coffee. Once Iā€™ve grabbed that, I sit down here and journal.

Five-Minute Journal

I've been writing in my Five-Minute Journal almost every day for several years. It's been life-changing to write down why I wake up each day, what I appreciate, and what Iā€™m striving for. Then at night before I go to bed, I journal about the things Iā€™ve accomplished, and write down what I wish I could have done better.

Pat journaling

I also use whatā€™s on this table to help me meditate, because Iā€™ve always had issues with meditating. Having one spot where I meditate each day helps me check in mentally and get into a routine. To help me meditate, I also use this device, the Muse headband.

Muse

You may have seen me talk about the Muse before on the blog . It's a brain-sensing headband. If you go to ChooseMuse.com , you'll see what this device is all about. Iā€™ll put it on now, then sit down and show you what I look like for 7 to 12 minutes every morning.

Pat Flynn meditating

I don't have my headphones on right now, but those are also necessary. The Muse senses your brain activity, and when you have an active brain, you hear crashing waves and loud wind in your headphones. When you have a calm brain, you hear hardly any wind at all, maybe just some trickles of water. If youā€™re calm for a certain period of time, you may also hear some birds chirping in the distance. It's a really cool tool, and it helps me validate if I'm doing it correctly, because that was the biggest issue for me with meditation.

I get my work done in the other parts of the office, but this area is where I sit down, relax, journal, meditate, and read, and I love it. Itā€™s also where I can be right next to what matters most to me besides my familyā€”you guys, courtesy of my thank-you board.

Pat sitting and relaxing

Well, there you have it! I showed you all the different spaces in my office, including where I get stuff done, where I plan, and where I meditate and work on self-improvement. I know a lot of you might not have a home office, and even if you do, it might not be quite as intricate and planned out as this one. Maybe you get most of your work done at a coffee shop. It's up to you! You have to figure out what works best for you.

I'd love to see where you work, as well. Where do you get your work done? Where do you do your planning? Where do you do your meditation stuff? Maybe it's all in the same spot. Wherever it is, I'd love to see it. Click here to visit the video version of this post on my YouTube channel. When you get there, leave a comment with a picture of your workspace, too. I'd love to see what you have going on and where you do most of your work.

And if you havenā€™t already, make sure to click here to subscribe to my channel to be notified whenever I release new videos. Cheers!

My space is too cluttered to share, surrounded by guitars, amps and photography gear. However, it’s a safe space. I’m protected by Captain America, Princess Leia, Wonder Woman, Chewbacca, Batgirl and Shaak Ti (Jedi Master).

My New Office Tour

my office tour

Hi friend!Ā  I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Jordan and I spent the last week “Just the Gs” (girls) and it was so lovely to get all that alone time with her. ā™„

We bonded with lots of conversation, coloring, reading, baking, going to Target, Chick-fil-A, the pool, and the bookstore and also playing with the friendly neighborhood cat that has started showing up at our front porch daily.

Jordan has become quite attached to and obsessed with “Mr. Handsome.”Ā  I will say he’s super cute and I’m very fond of him too.Ā  Except, I think he’s a she.

black cat

We’re taking him/her to the vet today to make sure he’s spayed/neutered/healthy and if he belongs to anyone.Ā  Everyone I talked to in the neighborhood just says he’s a friendly stray.Ā  He seems to want to come inside the house, so after the vet, we’ll see about that.Ā  It’s so hot here, I can imagine the AC would feel good.

James also had a great time with his dad exploring Washington D.C. and Philadelphia and everything in between.Ā  I’m so glad I got lots of daily pics and phone time while he was away, but we missed him!

HOME OFFICE TOUR

Today, I’m so happy to be bringing you inside my new home office!Ā  If you’re new here or catching up, we moved into this new home in early March, so it hasn’t been that long.Ā  Sometimes I still feel like I’m visiting, and I wake up everyday so thankful to get to call this our home!

We lived in our old house for over 10 years and it’s gone to a darling family that I’ve kept in touch with.

One of the first things that took my breath away when touring my new home was the large, upstairs space with tall, vaulted shiplap ceilings.Ā  And it has the most gorgeous chandelier!Ā  There are three huge windows overlooking the front yard and three smaller windows lending to all that bright, natural light.

my office tour

Talk about a dream office space!Ā  I work from home and spend countless hours here with my friend/marketing manager, Rhonda, so having a big room like this to work from is absolutely dreamy!

The wall color is Sherwin Williams Alabaster (flat) and the trim is Sherwin Williams Pure White (satin).

And here it is now.

The first thing I did was move my marble breakfast table into the room.Ā  I really love that table and am so happy it fits well in here!Ā  I got it at Restoration Hardware and it’s held up perfectly over the many years I’ve had it.Ā  It makes a great focal point and sturdy work space here.

The table sits on the rug that was in my old office, and the colors in it are so pretty!Ā  It’s also nice and soft underfoot.

That large wooden tray is my “Sunday Basket” and contains all the loose papers, reminders, and to-do’s that pile up during the week.Ā  It’s a visual reminder of things I need to take care of and I try to carve out a chunk of time on a Sunday to tie up all those loose ends.Ā  It feels great to head into a new week with all those things already accomplished!

I have all the unsightly cords corralled in that small woven basket .Ā  And the wooden box holds my necessary paper files.Ā  I try to keep most things organized digitally, but sometimes there are paper receipts, records or other documents I have physical copies of.

I’ve kept the color palette a soothing mix of pale pinks and use books to incorporate that color on the bookshelves.

such a beautiful work space. Love everything about it. I bought the desk mat in the colour purple a few months ago and love it. Thank-you for sharing.

A PRETTY AND PERSONAL HOME OFFICE TOUR

desk in a home office with a basket and a white vase of flowers on it

Ready for a home office tour? Today I’m sharing where I work! And I’m also sharing tips for making our workspaces pretty and still professional. And professional and personal! Many of us are working from home and want our home workspaces to work for us!

Let’s tour my office! Yay!

The office in our home is where I work and spend most of my day! It, like the rest of my home is very sunny and bright!

The morning sun pours in through a big window so no wonder my favorite time to work is first thing in the morning!!!! I usually work in my office in my pj’s with lots of coffee until mid-morning! This gives me a big start on my work and satisfies my love of being in my pj’s!

Come see what I’ve done to this office space and how it looked when we first moved in!

FRENCH DOORS THAT OPEN UP TO A PRETTY OFFICE TUCKED IN THE FRONT OF A HOME

My office is still a work in progress! But so far I feel happy and cozy in this bright spot in our home!

A LITTLE HISTORY ABOUT THIS SPACE

If you have been a StoneGable reader you will maybe remember this desk from our upstairs sitting area.

When we moved to the Tanglewood house I knew this desk would work perfectly in this space. Let’s see, as I show you around the office, what else you might see from our StoneGable home.

When we first moved here our office was a blank space!

DESK IN A HOME OFFICE WITH A LAMP AND A BASKET AND A VASE OF GARDEN FLOWERS

Yup, just a very basic room with a nice size window on one side and a big opening to the foyer on another!

The image below was on move-in day!

my office tour

THE BACKSTORY

There were certain things I made sure Bobby was clear on before we bought the house. We were really both on the same page with what needed to be done to our new home.

One. The whole, entire, every speck of the house had to be repainted! (done)

Two. The fireplace had to be rebuilt. (done)

Three. The carpeting in the bedrooms had to be removed and replaced with hardwood to match the existing flooring before I moved in. (done)

Four. The kitchen needed a total update although it was new. It really did not work with the rest of the house. And since our home is so open it needed a makeover! In less than 2 weeks demo begins! Yay and YIKES!

Five. French doors needed to be added to the opening of the office. (done)

Six. Bookshelves had to be built across the back wall in the office. (done)

Seven. We had to address all the railing and spindles in oak on the stairs. We are still working on a solution to this issue!

Eight. The upstairs bathroom needed a mini makeover. Hopefully, in the spring!

LET’S START OUR HOME OFFICE TOUR HERE

The french doors really help to define the office space. And they don’t make me feel closed off from the rest of the house when I am working!

It is so important to carve a quiet space out for yourself if you are working at home! I do a lot of writing and editing all day and I need quiet.

HOME OFFICE FRENCH DOORS

The built-in bookshelf was a huge project! I didn’t really realize just how much goes into building custom bookshelves and cabinets!

The whole unit houses my business and more! And it gives me a place to rotate my favorite photos of Bobby, my kids, and babies!

OFFICE DESK WITH A BASKET AND A VASE OF GARDEN FLOWERS

I often get asked where I put family pictures. Well, now you know! We keep them in our bedroom too!

They are my favorite part of the home office tour, for sure!

MY WORKSPACE MINDSET

Even though I don’t share my workspace I try to keep my office looking welcoming and professional. For me, it is a balance. I want to send myself the message… YOU ARE AT WORK! And I want it to have a style all my own.

When I went from blogging as a hobby to making a living, my mindset changed. I set up office hours and kept them. I cared more about my workspace and kept things in order!

Not wading through the mess I can make really made a difference!

my office tour

The side and bottom cabinets in the office are filled with books, and crafting supplies, and important papers. Behind the center bottom cabinet doors hides my printer!

This is my best advice about all the “stuff” we can collect that is job-related… put it in baskets, pretty cardboard containers (like the white magazine holders that house my favorite decorating magazines), or organize it behind closed doors if you can!

And here’s my very best advice when it come to office-related paraphernalia… EDIT! Get rid of what you can and go as paperless as possible! This has so helped my business and the overall look of my office space!

BOOKSHELVES IN A HOME OFFICE

Next stop on the home office tour…

This is my inbox! I tidied it up for you! And I must admit it usually does not look this empty!!!

CLOSE UP OF A DESK WITH A BASKET ON IT AND A VASE OF FLOWERS

I would love to know how the bloggers with super clean desks keep them that way! We all need to learn from them! I have way too much paperwork even after editing! And mail, don’t get me started on mail!!!! But most of the snail mail we get is personal. Yet it gets filtered in here!

One way to keep my inbox under control is to make sure I can see the bottom of it three times a day! This is a tip that helps me to feel under control! But it is way easier to aspire to this goal than actually do it!

Did you notice I opted for a woven basket as my inbox? I love baskets and one of my vignette baskets was a perfect fit for the desk! I love it when something pretty can also be professional!

I do love flower and in the summer keep a vase of flowers from our garden and containers.

They sit in my inbox and that really helps to keep the clutter down. I just don’t have the space with a pretty vase of flowers sharing the inbox!

Flowers and a mix of herbs are my favorite combination. Can you see the parsley and curly mint in the casual arrangement?

Flowers make me feel happy!

For me, flowers are an important part of my office! I count them as pretty and professional and personal! Win, win, win!

VASE OF FLOWERS

Next stop on the home office tour is…

THE OFFICE SITTING AREA

Across the room from the desk is a little place to sit!

The mirror that used to be in the foyer at the StoneGable house was turned portrait style and hung above the chair.

On the wall perpendicular to the mirror is a little wall gallery made up of my favorite “I AM HIS” sign that was in the StoneGable dining room. Also, an original piece of artwork done by my grandsons Anderson and Alexander. And a sweet little sheep, another original piece of art. I’m going to add something from my granddaughter Emma Kate to the wall as well.

I love looking over and seeing things that make my heart sing! I think it is good for us to display things in our office that we truly love!

These things feed my soul!

The chair, side table, and floor lamp all came from the StoneGable family room.

CHAIR WITH PILLOWS ON IT

Although my home might look neutral there is really a lot of muted color going on!

One brighter color I just love is a saturated burnt yellow or gold. I’ve always loved this color!

So this summer I have used a bit of this warm color around the entire house!

A CLOSE UP OF A CHAIR AND A MAGAZINE BASKET NEXT TO IT

There is still lots to change out like the rug and maybe the little chair. And I’m still looking for a fashionable and comfortable desk chair! And I need to get the big clock fixed on the wall because it broke in the move.

The office is a place I love to work! It feels like it was made for me!

I hope you are creating a workspace that is pretty, professional and personal too! I like to say our spaces should be both functional and fabulous!

Here’s my view when I sit behind my desk.

When you see this image know that this is my view when I’m thinking about YOU!

Youā€™ve done once againā€”itā€™s beautiful!! It gave me the push I needed to start organizing my small work area!

Good Morning Yvonne: Thank you so much for the tour of your beautiful home, I enjoyed seeing where you work. You have very good taste in decorating. Thank you again and have a nice day.

What a beautiful space to work in Yvonne! Love the built-ins!

Thanks, Shirley!Your new home is just stunning! Hope you are feeling well. I continue to pray for you my friend!

I loved seeing your pretty office, Yvonne! Having an organized AND stylish place to work makes for much greater productivity!!! You should be a happy blogger! In the “moving day” photo, I noticed your fiddle leaf fig plant. It is the first time I have seen it since your move. Is it enjoying your new home??? It was so lovely in your living room at Stone Gable. Stay safe!

Thanks, Bunny! The fiddle leaf fig went to live with my daughter-in-law. She loved it so I gifted it to her. And yes, I’m very productive in my office!

Golly-Molly Yvonne! Your office looks lovely! So clean, bright and highly organized with so many textures! LOVE IT!!! Especially your inbox basket — Dynamite idea!

Where did you purchase your desk? I have been looking for something with clean, simple lines and with plenty of desk area, just like that desk šŸ™‚

Hi Julie, you can find the desk here: HERE

Hi Yvonne –

What a wonderful light and bright space to work. It looks so inviting, a place that makes getting work done – easy. šŸ™‚

I am in the midst of EDITING my office. It has been awhile – I am purging like mad.

I love the two round lidded baskets behind your desk. Are they a new purchase or something you had? Do you have a aff link for them? I love Lidded baskets!

Yvonne, Your new office is so you. Just bright ,organized and beautiful with just the right balance of work and family. Great place for family pictures. I don’t have a business out of my home but I do have a space I call my office where I have my old family desk and a post it board to try to keep me organized. I wish I had a larger window in,the room but that’s not happening. Enjoy your first summer in your new home and stay well.

Thanks, Kathy! Summer at the Tanglewood house is very bright! One thing I love is all the pretty views. If feels like we are almost living outdoors!

I’d probably get way more done in an office as beautiful and organized as yours! Love this.

What a beautiful office to work in!! So bright, so comfy!!

Can you tell me the paint color of your front door and sidelights? Would like to use on ours. Thanks

Hi Tara, I wish I could. The door etc was painted that color when we moved in. I’m still trying to get the color from the builder. When I find out I’ll let all of you know.

Love your office Yvonne. I’m jealous of all that natural light. Good idea to empty the inbox 3x a day. Mine is spilling all over my desk right now.

Hi Linda, so nice to hear from you!!! Would love to get together!

Thank you for your home tour posts! The pinner image reminded me to ask: how well do you think your front door “hello” decal will hold up through a winter? I love it! But… I live in the Upper Midwest and we get lots of snow and below zero temps. Thanks for your advice.

Hi Kim, we have a covered front porch so I think it will be fine. Why not give it a try? They are so inexpensive and you can remove them easily. Hope this helps.

Could you please tell me the names of your paint colors on your walls and wood trim? Tanglewood is just as beautiful as Stonegable!

Hi Linda. Our paint is SIMPLY WHITE by Benjamin Moore. The Tanglewood house is so open I chose to keep it light and bright. Simply White is such a pretty soft white! Hope this helps.

Another lovely space in your stunning home! I always notice the x back chairs in your posts because I absolutely love them. I have tried ordering them from Luxe Decor but they have been on backorder for months. I noticed on a recent post that you had different dining chairs. Is there any chance you are selling them? If so, I would be thrilled! Would you can email me in response, please? Thanks for all your beautiful postings, I so enjoy them.

Hi Karen, I really love those x back chairs too! I am saving them for the eating area when we renovate our basement. I found the chairs on Wayfair but I see they are not in stock right now. They are called “Juniper Del side chairs”. Hope this helps.

I love your rug and would love one just like it! Any remembrance of where you bought it , or who makes it? Thanks in advance…

The rug was awesome in the foyer and now in my study. Here’s the link: https://rstyle.me/+EvhyBUsdiXYvQAmMB2HxUQ

Hi Yvonne, Your office is just as beautiful as the rest of your home šŸ™‚

I just have to ask, is your desk chair standing on a piece if glass or is it a particularly thick and shiny chair mat?

Good eye, Heathe! The desk mat is glass. My husband got me a Vitrazza glass floor mat as a gift. It is fabulous!!!!!

What a beautiful office you have, Yvonne! You have done such an amazing job of decorating it. Everything goes so well together! So great to have such a lovely office when you spend so much time in there! Thanks for sharing this with us. Have a blessed week!

This room is just gorgeous! I love the neutral colours and peaceful vibe it exudes – even though it’s your office. My office is tiny, actually, it’s the landing at the top of the stairs. I built a corner desk to fit the space and added lots of plants which make it feel more relaxed. What a shame about your clock getting broken in the move, hope you can get it fixed, it’s beautiful.

Hi Jayne, your office sounds so cozy!!!!

Love the lamp on the desk! Can you possibly let me know where you bought it? Thank you

Hi Karen, the lamp is popular! I found it at the Pottery Barn a few years ago. Hope this helps.

It’s just gorgeous Yvonne! Thanks for sharing at All About Home. I am happy to feature you this week: https://followtheyellowbrickhome.com/all-about-homelink-party-49/

Enjoy your beautiful space!

Thanks so much Amber!

This is by far, my favorite room in your home! I adore everything about it! May I please ask where you got your glass floor protector for your chair? Also, may I suggest the hourglass chair from Pier One as your comfy desk chair? I recently purchased the neutral tweed with dark espresso legs for my own office and I love it! So comfortable and so stylish! Unfortunately, I did hear that they are going out of business? ENJOY!

Blessings, ā™„ļøBeth

Hi Beth, thanks so much for the suggestion. I’ll check it out. The floor mat was a gift from my husband for Christmas. He found it a Vitrazza. It’s fabulous!

I love your office! Actually I love everything you do! Where do you get your beautiful baskets displayed in your office ! I love them and their texture! Thank you You brighten my day!

Thanks, Elizabeth! Here is one of my favorite baskets: https://rstyle.me/+xwa8I-dNHjFBySwwFTxa1w

Thanks for sharing your office. Would like to purchase the very large wire basket with liner. Please share where I can obtain one. Funny it adds so much to the look of your office, to me, yet you didn’t mention it. Funny how everyone sees so differently. Happy holidays.

Hi Nan I found it at the Pottery Barn years ago.

My Home Office Tour

Hello friends! I’m so glad you’re here ?. I’m even happier to be able to share my new home office with you!

It took a while to complete (and to be honest, it’s still not fully complete…as always I want to add a few more touches, but for now, I’m happy with where I’m at with this space).

So here is the before picture; this is the way the office was set up by the previous owners.

my office tour

From this, I saw this room had great potential to become the office of my dreams.

At first, I didn’t know if I wanted set up our office as an office for two, so I had put my desk this way (see below), in order to leave room for my husbands desk in the other half of the office.

my office tour

After a little while, my husband decided he did not need his own office space , so I was free to take over this whole room! Whoohoo! So here is my “after”!

Pretty Home Office

If you are working on designing your own chic home office, you’re going to want to download this FREE checklist:

Here’s a close up of my bookshelf:

Pretty Home Office

I looked long and hard for a white, multi-level paper sorter…I lucked out when I found this one at Home Sense. Literally, they were just putting out onto the shelves, and I got my hands on before they could even put it out!

pretty home office source list

Like what you see? Shop the look! See the complete, shoppable list of everything that’s in my home office! Click here.

The next day I went to a different location, and I found the create/design/inspire desktop organizer, of the same make and style, I had to pinch myself to make sure I was actually seeing things clearly :D.

Pretty Home Office

Here I have a simple gold and glass vase (which I still want to fill with some pretty floral or greenery), a framed quote, which I feel embodies how I feel when I enter my office (I feel darling whenever I walk in here!), and some pretty pink books and a sketch book that I actually intend to use when sketching out designs for my client projects.

Pretty Home Office

This little nook houses my printer and my file organization. Below the printer table, I have a trash bin (which I plan on spray painting gold one fine day;), and a crate forĀ  recycling.)

Pretty Home Office

The gold wired basket has me scratching my head, I bought it thinking I could keep my fabric samples in them when I’m working onĀ  aĀ  client project, but now I’m thinking I might prefer a wall file sorter in its place. That’s why I haven’t taken the tag off yet! :). Decisions, decisions.

Pretty Home Office

I always buy pretty throw pillows in twos. So when I found this pillow for the chair behind my desk, IĀ  picked up a second pillow just in case I’d need it in the future. If you buy pillows in pairs, at least you can repurpose them on a sofa or a bed later on, when you feel that itch to redecorate…or is that just something that happens to me?

I didn’t have this second chair in my office originally, and it will probably be replaced later buy a cream loveseat or daybed (for theĀ other side of my office, that’s not shown), once I find the perfect one! But for now, this chair completed my room, and I can always pull it up to my desk if I’m meeting with anyone in my office.

I’m also really proud of myself for minimizing the items on top of my desk! I used to fill this paper tray with loose papers, notes, mail, basically anything I was currently working on, or attempting to work on, one day. Now I have made this paper tray a home for my desk accessories, and it looks so much better!

Pretty Home Office

Thank you so much for coming along for a tour of my new favourite space in my home! If you have any questions, please feel free to shoot me an email or just comment below!

Here’s one last look for you šŸ™‚

Have a great day loves! Please feel free to pin these images or share with your friends šŸ™‚

Hello, your office is beautiful! I’m currently about to tackle mine in the same color scheme. I’m wondering if you know what color the paint is? I’m looking for a very light neutral similar to that and can’t quite put my finger on the perfect one.

Thanks, Jenny

Hi Jenny! Thank you so much ?. The paint colour is November Rain, by Benjamin Moore. Good luck with your office!

December 14, 2017 at 10:15 am

Hey Amanda! I think I responded to you on Instagram ?. Just in case that wasn’t you… Everything you’ve mentioned is from Home Sense (in Canada). Home Goods in the states is pretty much the same! Hope that helps ?

Love this! I am struggling with a floating desk because of all the cords. How did you hide yours?

December 14, 2017 at 10:13 am

Hi Jenny! Thank you so much ?. I actually do have one cord that I took out just for the picture! My plan is to tape it to the side of the desk and then run it under my rug, all the way to the outlet behind my desk. I have seen others who have a larger desk, put some decor on that corner behind the computer, so the wires are hidden. Another option is to opt for a desk that has a built in cable solution.. I think IKEA has a couple of those. Hope this helps!

Thank you! Also, can I ask what the other sides of the room look like? Wondering what other wall decor you might have going on!

April 2, 2018 at 7:09 pm

No problem! If you head over to my Instagram page https://www.instagram.com/interior_love_affair_ you can see a few videos of the rest of my office. I’ve just got a few more finishing touches to complete here, and then I’ll be sharing it all with you in a second blog post! šŸ˜€

Creating An Office Tour Video for Your Company With Ease: A Guide.

Secure hosting for new project.

After putting so much work into creating a beautiful workspace, which is conducive for all, it makes so much sense to want your clients and prospects to see it. Creating an office tour video for your brand is a marketing effort with the aim of portraying your brand in the best possible light. The intention is to show off your team, culture, values, and every form of your brandā€™s identity.

Pre-Video ProductionĀ

During this stage of the video production, your goal is to plan the entire video production from start to finish. If this stage is properly sorted out, you will be sure to have an almost flawless production and easiness as you get things done.

Setting-UpĀ

Before you think of creating an office tour video, it is pertinent that you have an aesthetic workspace that is capable of capturing your audienceā€™s attention. Itā€™s easier to go about this almost immediately after moving into your newly set up workspace. However, if youā€™ve been in that space for a while, you should do some renovation to ensure everything still looks good and neat. Depending on the level of renovation you need to do, ensure you plan your budget accordingly to help you cover the main cost of the corporate video production . Setting up your space must include you putting up signposts to help your viewers identify every section of the office.

Selecting your Office Tour Guide

Typically, the office tour guide should be a member of your team. He/she will be in charge of showing your audience around your office, telling them about the company, teams, culture, operations, and everything in between. They must know the ins and outs of the company as well as how things work. If you decide to hire an external professional to handle this, be sure to give them a thorough orientation about the company. This will help them flow effortlessly and speak about your brand with enthusiasm.Ā

Your office tour guide must possess several qualities which include: eloquence, charisma, general communication skills, and an ability to capture peopleā€™s attention all through the video.

Creating an office tour video

Creating and Reviewing the Script

The content of your office tour video shouldnā€™t be put out extemporaneously. More and more preparations must be put in place. Bear in mind that the script isnā€™t to be memorised or read word-for-word, instead it should serve as a guide to preserve the idea/concept of the project. It will also guide the entire production team.Ā

To guide the creation of your video script, you and your team must first understand why you are creating an office tour video for your company. Identifying the goal of this task will help you determine what areas of the office youā€™ll need to lay emphasis on and the key team members you will be speaking within the video. This video should go through various professional eyes till you arrive at the best version of it. You can work with your in-house Copywriter or hire one. Getting a Copywriter to help out in this area is quite important because the office tour video will be serving marketing purposes. They have the skills needed to create concepts to help you get the most out of this marketing effort.Ā

Hiring a Videographer

If you do not have an in-house videographer or a freelancer you already work with, you need to get one. Not just anyone but a highly-skilled professional. Since this isnā€™t just a random video production, you must get all hands on deck to do things properly. You can get some recommendation from people or put out a call for applications. Afterwards, do a thorough filtering of the applications you receive and check their portfolio to see if they have previously worked on a similar project. Find out what video editing tools they are good at using as well. Select your preferred candidate, let them know all they are required to do, then negotiate how much you are willing to pay them.

The Video Production

Recording the video.

This stage is very crucial. Select a day when the majority of your team members will be available as well as the video production team (videographer, office tour guide, director, and other key players). Recording your office tour video tends to come out best if you begin the session in the morning. Do all you can to ensure no noise distorts the production. Invest in lapel microphones to help magnify the voice of the speakers. In addition, check the lightening of each location in the office to prevent inconsistent light patterns within the video.Ā

Creating an office tour video

Post-Video Production

Editing and feedback.

It doesnā€™t end yet. This is the stage where the videographer will get to do the hard work mixed with a whole lot of creative thinking. After editing, mixing the video with the right soundtrack, and everything else, the videographer will present you with the packaged video. Take your time to go over it severally and even invite your team to take a look at it. Here you should be looking out for odd sounds, repetitions, colour scale, soundtrack used, amongst others. Ā

Remember, everyone sees things from different points of view so get ready to note the observations and feedback of all your team members. Give the videographer your feedback and wrap things up if you approve of the entire production.Ā

Publicising and Distribution

Start sharing your new brand asset with your network and communities on social media. Decide what platforms are great for sharing videos and determine the right platform where your audience is most likely to see it without stress.Ā

Would you like to see a sample office tour video before you go ahead with creating yours? Well, you can check out Big Field Digitalā€™s office tour video here . Meet Dr. Sarita Wang

meet dr sarita wang

The best part of my day is seeing the children in my practice. It is fun to get to know their personalities and exciting to see them grow up. I enjoy watching each mature through school age years and develop into confident young adults. I am grateful and take pride in knowing I had a small part in helping to shape the person each becomes.

As a Pediatric Dentist, I feel that education is key. Part of my task includes helping to shape a child's understanding of their oral health as it relates to other aspects of their wellbeing. This is especially important in the medically compromised and special needs subset of patients in my practice. Because of my hospital-based training, I am passionate about treating and caring for these individuals who otherwise have difficulty finding appropriate dental care.

~ Dr. Sarita Wang

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Visual Arts, Bowdoin College
  • Doctorate of Dental Medicine, University of Pennsylvania
  • Specialty in Pediatric Dentistry, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and Strong Memorial Hospital
  • Board Certified, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Wang has practiced dentistry for ten years. Her parents are dentists, so working in her practice feels like being at home to her. While she explored different potential career paths in college, she continually gravitated toward medicine and dentistry. That interest in healthcare, along with her desire to work with her hands and possessing an artistic eye, made pediatric dentistry a natural fit.

Continuing Education

Through ongoing research, dental methodologies and technologies are continually changing and improving. Participation in continuing education is a key component of Dr. Wang’s commitment to her profession and her patients.

She actively pursues opportunities that keep her current on the latest advancements. She also appreciates that these venues allow her to network with and learn from other oral healthcare professionals, creating a more cohesive family of dentists to serve the community.

Professional Memberships and Activities

  • American Dental Association
  • California Dental Association
  • Mid-Peninsula Dental Society
  • Santa Clara Pedodontic Dental Society

Dr. Wang volunteers for the Cleft and Craniofacial Clinic at Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital. She is grateful to be part of the healthcare community and using her skills to help these patients. She understands these individuals often have complex medical and dental histories, which can make it difficult for them to access appropriate care.

Personal Information

Dr. Wang resides in Los Altos with her husband, Dr. Derick Wang, the practice orthodontist, and their young son, Andrew. Her mother, Dr. Maria Fu, is the other pediatric dentist in the practice, and Dr. Leonard Fu, the general dentist who sees adults, is her father. The family is rounded out with Oreo, a shi tzu, who is the office mascot.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Wang is often to be found at the playground or library with her son. She also enjoys getting together with her sister and nieces and nephews for fun activities, such as crafts, baking, or riding their scooters around the Stanford campus.

2024 Masters odds, field: Surprising PGA picks, predictions from advanced golf model that's nailed 10 majors

Sportsline's proven model simulated the masters 2024 10,000 times and revealed its pga golf picks for augusta national.

xander-cbs.jpg

The list of PGA event winners this season has been a mix of established major champions and first-time victors. Five golfers became first-time winners, thus qualifying for the 2024 Masters, including Nick Dunlap, who became the first amateur in 33 years to win on tour. There are three major championship winners who have also topped leaderboards this season: Scottie Scheffler, Hideki Matsuyama and Wyndham Clark. How much should already having a win this season entering the Masters 2024 matter in terms of 2024 Masters picks?

Scheffler in 2022 and Jon Rahm in 2023 had three victories on the season before their wins at Augusta National, so recent history indicates it does matter. Scheffler is the 5-1 favorite in the 2024 Masters odds, followed by Rory McIlroy (10-1) and Rahm (13-1). Four golfers are tied at 21-1: Brooks Koepka, Jordan Spieth, Will Zalatoris and Viktor Hovland. Before locking in any 2024 Masters picks of your own, be sure to see the 2024 Masters golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine .

SportsLine's proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, the model is up nearly $9,500 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament. McClure's model predicted Scottie Scheffler would finish on top of the leaderboard at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players Championship this season. McClure also included Hideki Matsuyama in his best bets to win the 2024 Genesis Invitational. That bet hit at +9000, and for the entire tournament, McClure's best bets returned nearly $1,000. The model also predicted Jon Rahm would be victorious at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. At the 2023 Masters, the model was all over Rahm's second career major victory heading into the weekend. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the third round, but the model still projected him as the winner. It was the second straight Masters win for the model, which also nailed Scheffler winning in 2022. In addition, McClure's best bets included Nick Taylor (70-1) winning the 2023 RBC Canadian Open, Jason Day (17-1) winning outright at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson, and Rickie Fowler (14-1) finishing on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic. This same model has also nailed a whopping 10 majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now that the Masters 2024 field is taking shape, SportsLine simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard.

Top 2024 Masters predictionsĀ

One major surprise the model is calling for at the 2024 Masters: Rory McIlroy, a four-time major champion and one of the co-favorites, fails to complete the career grand slam and barely cracks the top five at Augusta National. The world's No. 2-ranked golfer is off to a rough start in 2024, with his highest finish through his first five starts being 19th at the Players Championship.

Putting was an issue for McIlroy at the start of the season, as he previously ranked 129th in that area (-0.246). While he has improved to 83rd on the PGA Tour (0.036) and his total shots gained (0.610) is 40th, he is still 123rd in shots gained approaching the green (-0.176). While there appears to be small improvements in his game, his finishes this season are why the model is low on him.

Another surprise: Patrick Cantlay, a 28-1 longshot, makes a strong run at the title. He has a much better chance to win it all than his odds imply, so he's a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. The 2021 FedEx Cup champion has noticeably elevated his play in majors since a rough start to them early in his career. Cantlay has notched top-15 finishes in five of his last six major appearances and finished 14th in last year's Masters. He was in fourth heading into the final round a year ago at Augusta until a rough back-nine did him in.

Cantlay is one of the most consistent players on tour, as he's finished the last three seasons ranked in the top 10 in strokes gained: total and scoring average (actual). He's not off to as fast a start this year, but he's shown up in the biggest events, as all three of his top-15s came in signature tournaments. Cantlay has also displayed his ability to be clutch on the greens, which is essential to success at Augusta, as he ranks 11th in birdie or better conversion percentage. Cantlay is on the short list for being the best player on tour without a major, but savvy golf bettors shouldn't overlook him with 2024 Masters picks, according to the model.Ā  See who else to pick here .

How to make 2024 Masters picks

The model is also targeting six other golfers with odds of 20-1 or longer to make a strong run at the green jacket. Anyone who backs these longshots could hit it big. You can only see the model's picks here .

Who will win the 2024 Masters, and which longshots will stun the golfing world? Check out the Masters 2024 odds below and then visit SportsLine to see the projected Masters leaderboard, all from the model that's nailed 10 golf majors, including last year's Masters and Open Championship .
