Perfectly tiered for unobstructed viewing and furnished with plush seating, the main show lounge is an intimate venue without a bad seat in the house. The phenomenal variety of entertainment here includes full-scale musical revues, rousing cabaret shows, and Cirque-style productions backed by the nine-piece Regent Signature Orchestra.

The Horizon Lounge is the ideal place for cocktails, or to simply relax and unwind with an after-dinner drink. The resident musicians will entertain daily during teatime, as well as before and after dinner. Game shows and other entertainment may be scheduled at the discretion of the Cruise Director.

The Voyager Lounge and nightclub is the perfect venue to meet friends and fellow travelers for a pre-dinner cocktail. After dinner, the Voyager Lounge turns into a nightclub and is the place for those night owls wanting to dance into the night or maybe sing along in a karaoke competition. Musicians will entertain nightly, and during the late hours on selected nights a DJ will be there to play a variety of recorded music for your listening or dancing pleasure.

regent seven seas voyager cruise director

As the flagship restaurant aboard each of the Regent ships, the wonderfully expansive Compass Rose serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and features an exceptional variety of European-inspired Continental cuisine, as well as flavorful vegetarian and nutritious Canyon Ranch SpaClub® specialties. Elegantly decorated in warm golden and maroon hues, Compass Rose delights with a beautifully refined atmosphere blessed with natural light during the day. Whenever you decide to whet your appetite, your MaÎtre D’ will guide you to a quiet, romantic table for two, or a festive larger table to share the days’ bounty with newfound friends.

Serving breakfast and lunch, La Veranda is exceedingly popular any time of the day. Spacious and comfortably casual, La Veranda offers regional specialties that often reflect the cuisines of the countries called on, such as Grilled Lamb Chops with Spanish Sherry Sauce or pan-sautéed Mediterranean Sea Bass. Dishes are presented in a buffet style that displays the diversity of the menu. La Veranda also features an authentic pizzeria and a shaded, open-air veranda for dining al fresco.

A true classic in every sense, Prime 7 sets a new standard in steakhouse fare with its contemporary interpretation of an American favorite. Handsomely decorated with supple leather wing-back chairs, burnished woods, and rich earth-toned fabrics, Prime 7 exudes a distinct, intimate elegance. This is glamour redefined, a luxurious setting to enjoy classic steakhouse cuisine with a modern flair.

regent seven seas voyager cruise director

Each evening, La Veranda transforms into Sette Mari at La Veranda, a casual, intimate dining experience. Enjoy an extensive menu of authentic antipasti and Italian specialties served á la carte and paired with fine Italian wines — complimentary of course. Delectable dishes are prepared á la minute by talented chefs using only the freshest gourmet ingredients and served by attentive waiters. Sette Mari at La Veranda is open for dinner only.

regent seven seas voyager cruise director

Preparing authentic, decadent French cuisine is an art form and is the raison d’être of the shipboard French restaurant, Signatures. Capturing the diversity of French fare, seasoned chefs offer an exquisite dining experience with tantalizing tastes and enticing presentation. Classics like Quiche au Camembert and Foie Gras tease the palate, while main courses such as Rack of Lamb and Magret Duck Fillet excite the senses. The experience rivals that of the finest Parisian restaurants. Open for dinner only, reservations are required for Signatures.

regent seven seas voyager cruise director

The Coffee Connection is your informal destination to relax, meet other guests, and enjoy coffee and snacks throughout the day. In addition to coffee selections, food is available. Breakfast options include cereals, fruits, pastries and bagels. Lunch includes cold cuts, cheeses, assorted rolls and spreads, and cookies. Sandwiches, cookies, dry cakes and fruit are available in the afternoon.

The ultimate come-as-you-are dining venue, the Pool Grill couldn’t be more casual. Walk over straight from sunbathing or swimming in the pool. Drop by before or after a shore excursion. Enjoy a snack between activities. The Pool Grill is open-air, yet abundantly shaded for comfortable dining. Enjoy grilled-to-order burgers and seafood seafood, sandwiches and fresh salads. Treat yourself to milk shakes, malts, and hand-dipped ice cream desserts sprinkled with all your favorite toppings.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises fleet

Seven seas grandeur, seven seas splendor, seven seas explorer, seven seas voyager, seven seas mariner, seven seas navigator, review of regent seven seas cruises.

Regent Cruises (officially RSSC-Regent Seven Seas Cruises, rssc.com ) is a top-luxury cruise line and trademarked travel brand (fka "Radisson Seven Seas"). RSSC's current owner is NCLH (Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings) - also the owner of the subsidiaries / sister-brands NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line  and Oceania Cruises . RSSC's headquarters address is "1000 Corporate Drive, Suite 500, Fort Lauderdale, FL, 33334 USA".

The RSSC ships are medium-size top luxury passenger ships, with a capacity of up to 700 guests each, all 6-star rated all-suite all-balcony vessels. Regent offers a generous space-to-guest ratio of over 70, and a staff-to-guest ratio of 1/1,6 - some of the best ratios in the industry. Regent cruise ships offer some of the world's best, all-inclusive luxury cruise deals. These are also among the most expensive cruise vessels in the world.

All Regent ships are named with the prefix "Seven Seas", connotating all the world's oceans. The name is a most proper one, especially for the Voyager - an ex-USSR's Navy ice-class ship-to-be. Bought as a hull, she is now one of the most recognizable top luxury passenger ships, sailing all the Seven Seas of the World.

The Regent brand serves a clientele of predominantly affluent, middle-aged and older travelers, who expect a quiet and relaxing atmosphere and sophistication on board. The brand line is the epitome for impeccable service of the highest standards. RSSC's all-inclusive vacation packages offer care-free world cruising in an ambiance of luxury, quality, and value.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises ships

RSSC is well-appreciated also as one of the best cruise brands for families celebrating anniversaries and birthdays. The top-luxury RSSC ships enjoy some of the highest passenger loyalty rates.

On June 6, 2022, NCLH announced an expansion of its fleetwide sustainability program "Sail & Sustain". Extending its animal welfare policy, the shipowner is now fully committed to responsible animal food sourcing practices (regarding pork, chicken, eggs, and seafood) within the global fleet's supply chain. The goal is by the year 2025, fleetwide (NCL, Oceania, Regent) to be sourced only cage-free eggs, crate-free pork, certified sustainable seafood, and chicken purchased from American and Canadian suppliers who meet GAP (Global Animal Partnership) standards.

In late-June 2022, RSSC announced a new Italian menu to be introduced in November 2023 (on the newbuild Grandeur ) and later rolled out fleetwide. The new menu (developed for the Italian restaurant chain Sette Mari) includes items like Bruschetta al pomodoro (tomato), Cavatelli ai frutti di mare (filled pasta), Zucchini alla poverella, Insalata di Panzanella (bread salad) alla Masseria Salamina (17th-century castle in Fasano), Cozze gratinate al forno (stuffed mussels), Branzino in agrodolce (spigola in sweet-and-sour sauce), Pasticcini alla mandorle (Sicilian baked sweets), Chef Nino's Cioppino (fish stew), focaccia con pomodorini (Italian flat bread made with olive oil and flavoured with herbs).

Since January 2023, RSSC's President is Andrea DeMarco, who succeeded Jason Montague. Regent's and Oceania's Presidents both report to NCL's President (currently Harry Sommer).

In 2023 was launched the "Epicurean Perfection" culinary program grouping specially curated "Epicurean Spotlight Voyages". On select sailings, RSSC schedules food & wine-themed shipboard and land-based events like culinary-themed land tours and onboard cooking classes, tastings and food & wine pairings hosted by celebrity chefs and held at the ship's specialty restaurants.

Ship refurbishments

In January 2016, an USD 125 million drydock refurbishment plan was revealed for 3 ships in the RSSC fleet. The aim was to bring the vessels in line with the new Seven Seas Explorer (launched in 2016). The 2-year fleet upgrade plan started with the smallest 490-passenger Seven Seas Navigator (April 2016). Seven Seas Voyager was next (2016), followed by Seven Seas Mariner (2017).

The list of numerous onboard renovations included refurbishing of most public spaces, a complete redesign of all staterooms, ship technology, and equipment upgrades. After the fleet renovation program was completed, RSSC started offering free unlimited Internet and Wi-Fi to all cruise passengers (regardless of cabin categories).

As a top-luxury, all-inclusive cruise line, RSSC provides deals inclusive of beverages (including fine wines and premium spirits) and all-inclusive cruise fares (with roundtrip airfare, shore excursions, gratuities included). The line's newly expanded shore excursions program offers complimentary 3-night land tours in new locations (Cape Town South Africa, Hong Kong, and Beijing China, Angkor Wat Cambodia). The experience features African safaris, China's Great Wall, an elephant camp in Thailand.

On February 11, 2019, RSSC announced its partnership with Vero Water (eco-friendly bottled water supplier) to eliminate all single-use plastic bottles fleetwide. In the period April-June 2019, all Regent cruise liners were outfitted with Vero Water (onboard purification) systems eliminating ~2 million plastic bottles annually. Project's implementation schedule for 2019 included the ships Voyager (April 5), Explorer (April 8), Mariner (June 5) and Navigator (June 18). All RSSC cruise customers are provided complimentary with re-useable Vero Water bottles (Regent-branded, 1 per person) to be used ashore and after the voyage to take home as a souvenir.

Follows a list of common features regarding the RSSC line's vessels:

  • Owner/operator (Regent Seven Seas)
  • Hallmark ("The Regent Experience")

  • Private Island ( Princess Cays )

In 2019, RSSC introduced fleetwide an innovative plant-based menu items. Beginning October 1 (2019), over 200 plant-based gourmet cuisine specialties are available for ordering at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Naturally, the upgraded shipboard menus target mainly vegetarian and vegan passengers. The new dishes include:

  • Wild Mushroom Tart with Brittle Pie Crust, Red Pepper Coulis and Mushroom Duxelles
  • Falafel Fritters with Harissa Mayo, Mint, Capers, and Cucumber
  • Summer Berry Pudding Chantilly
  • Spiced Potato and Green Pea Samosas with Tamarind Chutney
  • The upgrade also included adding themed cuisines (Greek, Italian, Mexican, Middle Eastern, Asian / Korean, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Thai), light salads and soups, Power Bowls, Poke Bowls, home-made pasta and noodles, decadent desserts (like Peach and Blueberry Cobbler with Cornmeal-Almond Topping).

According to statistics, 9 of 10 plant-based meals are eaten by no-vegans, and luxury travelers are increasingly interested in plant-based fare. RSSC's 200 plant-based food selections are integrated into ship's daily menus, instead of listed on separate menus. The offerings were developed by the company's VP of Food and Beverage - Bernhard Klotz, in cooperation with celebrity chef Christophe Berg.

All bookings on pre-scheduled itineraries (departures March 14, 2020, through May 31, 2021) were given the option to cancel (up to 48 hours prior departure) without penalties. All affected bookings received a full refund (100%) in FCC (future cruise credit) transferred to a booking made within 1 year (any itinerary, fleetwide) from the canceled departure date. RSSC's Regent Reassurance policy was expanded to offer penalty-free cancellations (for any reason) up to 15 days prior departure with full refunds (100%) in FCC.

Eventually, NCLH canceled all RSSC cruises leaving between March 14, 2020, and mid-September 2021.

Operations resumed in 2021-2022 with the ships SPLENDOR (Sept 11, 2021/Around Britain from Southampton UK, follows a Mediterranean mini-season), EXPLORER (Oct 16, 2021/Mediterranean from Venice), NAVIGATOR (March 9, 2022/Caribbean from Miami and Barbados), MARINER (Dec 18, 2021/Panama Canal from Miami to San Francisco), VOYAGER (March 26, 2022/Mediterranean from Civitavecchia-Rome).

Seven Seas Navigator offers sailings in the Mediterranean and northern Europe before heading to Africa and the Middle East. In December 2025, Navigator will sail to the Indian sub-continent, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, followed by a journey through the South Pacific before returning to the Mediterranean.

RSSC cruises to Cuba

RSSC was the only North American luxury travel brand that was granted permission to offer cruises to Cuba. More visits to the unique Caribbean island country were added for season 2020, but the schedule was canceled due to the pandemic.

Note: According to the current Cuban law, US citizens of Cuban origin (born in Cuba) are not allowed to visit the island country (including on cruise ships). Regardless of their US citizenship status, Cuban-born Americans were denied booking on cruise itineraries visiting ports in Cuba. However, the situation changed in April 2016, after Carnival Corporation negotiated with the Cuban government for allowing ships with Cuban-born passengers, as such US citizens are allowed to visit the country on USA-Cuba charter flights. The Carnival-fathom line started Miami to Cuba cruises in May 2016.

Alaska Airlines offers regular nonstop flights to Havana from Los Angeles (California USA). An 80-min ling JetBlue flight from Fort Lauderdale (Florida) to Havana costs less than USD 100. Previously, air travel from the USA to Cuba was thought charter flights only.

He was on our Navigator cruise that ended in Southampton on 7/7. I believe he was leaving the ship then, not sure for how long or permanently.

Great Review

On our Splendor cruise mid March…..we were not overly impressed with David Nevin. And we are originally from Canada.

And we were on Splendor for 2 segments in April and thought he was great!

Loved David's country music show and got a CD of his opera renditions

A talented singer, for sure. We just found him to be not too pleasant.

I enjoyed David very easy to converse with about shows and suggestions.  Always said hi to me and conversed as I was usually in the seats on the right side of the theater where he enters to speak.  But he did say hello whenever he saw me on the ship and asked if I was enjoying some of the shows.

So I assume there are two CD's that rotate for each ship?  And then over the years they rotate among ships as well obviously.  So right now on Splendor, it's either Lorraine Weimerskirch, or David Nevin?  Here's hoping we get the latter in January.  (Mainly because we actually like country music, ha ha.  Actually, unless they're very *bad*, I don't really care much about who is CD.)

David us just a bit too "full of himself" for us.  🙄

Haha

I assume the cruise director has a say in the locally booked shows and the flutist, comedian and the Dublin Irish traditional group and dancers were all a hit.  I would say David has a good eye for talent.

They all are, in my experience. I don't blame them for that really, considering that they have to be "on" almost full-time.  That must be very difficult.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises® Announces Seven Seas Splendor ™ Senior Officer Team

MIAMI (Dec. 2, 2019) – Gratitude is at the heart of exemplary service, which is why this holiday season Regent Seven Seas Cruises® announces the inaugural senior leaders of Seven Seas Splendor ™ , who are responsible for ensuring the new ship’s guests enjoy an unrivaled, personalized experience and are treated like family. The five talented senior officers will lead 542 crew when Seven Seas Splendor debuts in February 2020, collectively caring for 750 guests on board the spacious yet intimate ship that perfects luxury.

“We’re thankful for this phenomenal leadership team assembled to deliver our guests a safe and extraordinary experience on every Seven Seas Splendor voyage,” said Jason Montague, president and chief executive officer of Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “They are consummate hosts for our luxury travelers. As the first female captain to launch an ocean cruise ship, pioneering Captain Serena Melani takes the helm with strength and expertise. General Manager Franck Galzy will ensure the most luxurious accommodations and the highest levels of personalized guest services are offered in an inviting atmosphere. Cruise Director John Barron sets the course for laughter and entertainment that results in memorable moments. Chief Engineer Giuseppe Russo brings more than 20 years of tenure to ensure the engine and systems operate smoothly. And, Staff Captain Diego Michelozzi’s hands-on leadership and engaging communication style will ensure strong teamwork throughout this remarkable vessel.”

Introducing The Seven Seas Splendor Leadership Team

Captain Serena Melani As previously announced in March 2019 on International Women’s Day , Captain Melani will be the first woman in cruise industry history to captain a new ocean ship at launch. Captain Melani has progressed quickly in her nearly 30-year career to roles of maritime leadership. She began her nautical career at age 16 as a cadet while attending school working on cargo ships in her hometown of Livorno, Italy, along the Tyrrhenian Sea in the Tuscany region. After graduating from Nautical College in 1993, Captain Melani was one of only a few females to hold roles of increasing responsibilities on oil tankers, cargo and container vessels. Captain Melani joined Regent in 2010 as a Bridge Officer, and then served as Navigation Officer, Safety Officer and Staff Captain on Seven Seas Voyager ®. She became the company’s first female Master Captain in 2016 and has led Seven Seas Explorer ® and Seven Seas Mariner ® during her tenure.

General Manager Franck Galzy General Manager Franck Galzy was born in the beautiful city of Angers, Loire Valley, France, surrounded by picturesque vineyards about two hours southwest of Paris. He began his formal education in Electronic Management, but soon found his passion in food and wine. Galzy joined Regent in 1999, where he quickly progressed, serving as a Sommelier, Head Waiter, Head Sommelier, Bar Manager and then Provision Master. With his vast experience and charming personality, Franck moved into management positions, ultimately serving as Food and Beverage Manager before becoming Regent’s youngest General Manager in 2009. Having launched sistership Seven Seas Explorer in 2016, Galzy is ready to welcome Seven Seas Splendor to the Regent fleet and delight all the guests who sail her with genuine hospitality and attention to detail, from little touches in guests’ suites to the exquisitely prepared cuisine.

Staff Captain Diego Michelozzi Staff Captain Diego Michelozzi was born in Viareggio, Italy, where he still resides happily with his wife Samantha. He studied at Nautical school in his hometown and after six years at sea, obtained his unlimited Master license in 2004. Staff Captain Michelozzi graduated with an associate degree in Business and Management from the University of Phoenix in 2012 and is currently studying at the University of Kent for a Maritime, Leadership and Management degree. His passion has always been working onboard cruise ships, and he has done so for the last 20 years. After three years with the Regent family, Staff Captain Michelozzi is honored and humbled to be part of the Seven Seas Splendor launch team.

Chief Engineer Giuseppe Russo As Chief Engineer, Giuseppe Russo’s job is to keep the ship sailing smoothly. In addition to responsibility for the ship’s engines, he directs a 34-person crew with broad responsibilities from air conditioning and plumbing to steering machinery, fuel lines and more. Born in Piano di Sorrento, Italy, Chief Engineer Russo resides in Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi and Capri Island, with his wife. After completing his Engineering studies in Piano di Sorrento, he worked on container ships for five years. Chief Engineer Russo then transitioned from container to cruise ships and joined the Regent family in January 2003 aboard Seven Seas Voyager .

Cruise Director John Barron Cruise Director John Barron hails from Sutton Coldfield in England and today resides in Newcastle with his wife and two children. Barron’s career at sea began on Seven Seas Navigator ® in 2000 as a principal singer in production shows. He was promoted to Cruise Director in 2004 and sailed with Regent until 2009, when Barron decided to spend time on land to raise his young children. Seven years later Barron returned to both the sea and to Regent. Today, he splits time between sailing and spending quality time with wife Lynsay and sons, Luke and Benjamin. Barron enjoys meeting guests and loves to sing and make guests laugh during their enriching and luxurious journey.

The beautifully appointed suites range from the 307 square-foot Veranda Suite to the lavish 4,443 square-foot Regent Suite.

The Regent Suite sets the tone for Seven Seas Splendor’s 14 other astonishing suite categories in offering the most luxurious accommodations at sea. It features the ultimate comfort of a $200,000 Hästens Vividus custom handmade mattress, an in-suite spa retreat featuring a personal sauna, steam room and treatment area with unlimited spa treatments, unobstructed 270-degree views over Seven Seas Splendor’s bow from the 1,300 square-foot wraparound veranda, and a glass-enclosed solarium sitting area on top of the bridge for a Captain’s view to see the world’s most beautiful destinations. Guests in the Regent Suite also enjoy first-class air accommodations, a dedicated personal butler to manage all the details of the guests’ experience, and a personal car with driver and guide in every port.

Seven Seas Splendor will feature a multi-million-dollar art collection, a Culinary Arts Kitchen with 18 stations for hands-on gourmet cooking demonstrations presented by master chef instructors, and Serene Spa & Wellness™ , a new globally inspired spa brand created for Seven Seas Splendor offering exclusive treatments that integrate techniques and ingredients from destinations around the world to soothe both the body and mind.

The ship’s exquisite restaurants include Compass Rose , the largest specialty restaurant at sea; Pacific Rim , a dramatic Pan-Asian restaurant with a mythical dragon greeting guests; Prime 7 , an intimate and elegant steakhouse; Chartreuse , featuring classic French fare with a modern twist; and Sette Mari at La Veranda , serving guests authentic Italian specialties and featuring stunning, over-water alcove seating that jets out over the ocean for an even closer connection to the sea, surrounded on three sides by inspiring, magnificent views.
