ABOUT JOURNEY

Since the group's formation in 1973, JOURNEY has earned 19 top 40 singles, 25 gold and platinum albums, and has sold over 100 million albums globally. Their "Greatest Hits" album is certified 15 times-platinum, making JOURNEY one of the few bands to ever have been diamond-certified, and their song "Don't Stop Believin'" has been streamed over one billion times alone.

JOURNEY was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2017, and 2018's co-headlining tour with DEF LEPPARD was the band's most successful tour to date, landing them in the Top 10 year-end touring chart with more than 1 million tickets sold, and earning them the prestigious Billboard "Legends Of Live" touring award. March 2019 saw the release of "Escape & Frontiers Live In Japan", a live DVD/CD set from their concert at the Budokan in Tokyo featuring the band's first-ever performances of the albums "Escape" and "Frontiers" in their entirety. JOURNEY has also received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and were inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall Of Fame. Additionally, the band is the subject of the award-winning documentary "Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey" about the band's resurgence upon adding Arnel Pineda as lead singer after JOURNEY Founder, Neal Schon discovered the Philippines native on YouTube.

The members of TOTO are celebrating an accomplishment few bands have achieved in the modern era. Cumulative streams of the ensemble’s repertoire

now exceed 3 billion plays. Amongst the most listened to recordings, “Africa” accounts for over one billion streams at Spotify alone. This year the song was recertified by the RIAA 8X Platinum.

Over the past decade, the band has had a major renaissance in popularity like few bands at this point in their career. The audience is truly multi-generational, becoming younger with each passing year. Joining Steve Lukather and Joseph Williams are band members bassist John Pierce (Huey Lewis and The News), drummer Robert “Sput” Searight (Ghost-Note, Founding member Snarky Puppy, Snoop Dogg), keyboardist Dominique “Xavier” Taplin (Prince, Ghost-Note), multi-instrumentalist / vocalist Warren Ham (Ringo Starr) and keyboardist / background vocalist Steve Maggiora,. This line-up marks the fifteenth incarnation of Toto in consideration of band members or sidemen who joined or exited. Individually and collectively, few have had a larger imprint on pop culture than the members of TOTO. The family tree can be heard on an astonishing 5000 albums that together amass a sales history of a half a billion albums. Amongst these recordings, NARAS applauded the performances with hundreds of Grammy nominations.

With now 45+ years together and literally thousands of credits, including the biggest selling album of all time: Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and accolades to their names, TOTO remains one of the top selling touring and recording acts in the world. They are the benchmark by which many artists base their sound and production, and they continue to transcend the standards set by the entire music community, being simply synonymous with musical credibility. They are pop culture and are one of the few 70’s bands that have endured the changing trends and styles continuing to remain relevant.

Journey’s ‘Freedom Tour’ Comes To Bossier City In 2023

We never stopped believing, and Journey is now coming back to Bossier City. The announcement was made this morning by Brookshire Grocery Arena that the group will be playing live in Bossier in February of 2023.

Journey is currently on their "Freedom Tour", and will be bringing a tour stop to Brookshire Grocery Arena in Bossier City on Sunday, February 19th, 2023. With tickets going on-sale Friday, October 21st, 2022...and a pre-sale on Thursday, October, 20th, 2022.

This tour is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Journey, who first formed in 1973.

So far the set list for Journey on the "Freedom Tour" has been pretty consistent. They have played a pair of songs on every stop ( according to Setlist.fm ) of the tour. Those two songs are "Don't Stop Believin" and "Any Way You Want It". There are a handful of songs that they have played on almost every stop, which include "Faithfully", "Lights", "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)", "Stone In Love", "Wheel In The Sky", "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin", "Only The Young", and "Open Arms".

Their biggest hit that they don't seem to be playing often on the road is "Ask The Lonely", which they have only played 19 times in nearly 60 shows. That song reached #3 on the charts when it was released.

Also on the "Freedom Tour" is special guest Toto. Best known for their massive 1982 hit "Africa", they also had top 10 singles with "Rosanna" and "Hold The Line" before that.

JOURNEY and TOTO previously joined forces for an early 2022 U.S. arena tour.

JOURNEY is continuing to promote its latest album, "Freedom" , which was released in July via BMG . The LP debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Current Rock chart.

The members of JOURNEY celebrated the album's release by kicking off a residency featuring special symphony orchestra performances at the new, state-of-the-art Resorts World Casino in Las Vegas.

As JOURNEY 's legend continues to grow larger and their touring gets bigger, "Freedom" is the band’s first album of new material to be released in eleven years, since 2011's "Eclipse" , and in addition to Schon , along with longtime keyboard player and primary lyricist Cain and Pineda , one more member was recruited for the LP — bassist extraordinaire Randy Jackson , who had played on JOURNEY 's 1986 album "Raised On Radio" .

Inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2017, JOURNEY has 25 gold and platinum albums, with total sales adding up to over 100 million albums worldwide, earning the band two Diamond Awards with a third on the way for the "Frontiers" album. JOURNEY has also surpassed one billion streams on Spotify .

Steve Perry Signs to New Label, Contemplates Solo Tour: ‘I Miss It Terribly’

By Andy Greene

Andy Greene

Earlier this month, Trev Lukather and Nic Collins’ new band the Effect released their version of Journey ‘s 1986 deep cut “It Could Have Been You” — featuring new vocals by Steve Perry . When Rolling Stone hopped on Zoom to hear how the song came together, Perry told us that he has other projects in the works.

“I just signed with a new label,” Perry says. “I’m very excited about it, and I’ll have an opportunity very soon to work with these very, very musically creative people. I’ll probably announce who I signed with very soon. That’s about as much as I can say, but I’m excited about that, and I am working on stuff.”

“It’s something that I’m absolutely missing terribly,” he continues. “I can’t even tell you how much, but there’s been a big soulful reclaiming of this original feeling that I had about singing that I needed to get back to. I didn’t want to go out and just turn the wheel or turn the crank.”

In his mind, Traces was just one step on a long journey back toward rediscovering his voice after years of not knowing if he’d ever sing again. “My father was a singer that never got a chance to realize his dreams, and I did,” says Perry. “I got to tell him years ago, before he passed, that I was doing this not just for me, but for him too. This is the historical relevance to what I’m going through and rekindling, I think, about me and my voice and touring. [As far as touring again], I never say never at this point. My life has proven me just that.”

Every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history.

“We don’t just talk about music,” adds Perry. “We talk about what motivates us, what is that deep drive in us that says, ‘This is what you are.’ And to not be what you are is cutting off a limb. I am starting to really feel that.”

The first order of business for Perry is getting into the studio and cutting a follow-up to Traces and his 2021 Christmas record, The Season , for his new label. “These new label people are so supportive,” says Perry. “They said, ‘We don’t care what you do, we just want to do it with you.'”

How Kid Rock Went From America's Favorite Hard-Partying Rock Star to a MAGA Mouthpiece

Stefanik loses it when fox news host reminds her she called trump a 'whack job', the mad scientist and the killer whales, giuliani was tracked down by arizona ag because he couldn’t stop posting.

Watching The Greatest Night in Pop brought memories like that flooding back to Perry, but it also made him a little morose. “I’m sad that can’t happen again today,” he says. “I don’t know if it would be the Effect, Tame Impala, the Killers … I don’t know. I just wish this could happen again today for a great cause. With the times we’re in, it saddens me that the possibility of such a thing seems remote.”

We signed off by telling Perry we continue to hope and dream that he’ll tour. “At this point, I’m also hoping,” Perry says. “And it’s my dream too.”

Health Secretary Ralph Abraham says Bossier 988 Lifeline Center saves lives every day

journey tour bossier

Louisiana Department of Health Secretary Ralph Abraham made a special visit to northwestern Louisiana Monday to tour the 988 Lifeline Center in Bossier City.

Abraham's visit recognized the key milestones achieved in mental health services in Louisiana.

"It is Mental Health Awareness Month, but we all know that every day should be mental health awareness month," said Abraham.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than one and five U.S. adults live with a mental illness and more than one in five youths (ages 13-18) have or had debilitating mental illness.

The Louisiana Association on Compulsive Gambling houses the 988 Lifeline Center, which services all of northern Louisiana. Louisiana has two certified lifeline centers, LACG and ViaLink, which is located in southern Louisiana.

988 lifeline provides support for people in suicidal crisis or mental health-related distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

"The people that answer these phones, they are frontline heroes, because they save lives on a daily basis," said Abraham, a doctor.

988 lifeline is a national network of over 200 local, independent crisis centers equipped to help people experiencing a suicidal crisis or mental distress via call, chat or text.

Elizabeth Bryant is a 988 trained crisis specialist.

"We want everybody in the state of Louisiana to know that if they are going through something that they can call 988 and that somebody is going to answer, that they're going to actively listen to them and that they're going to do everything that they can to get them connected to whatever resources are available for them," Bryant said.

"The empathy is there, the compassion is there and even more than that we build on this with research and knowledge about how to be professional," said Don Pledger, LACG Executive Director.

My Guide Moscow

A Journey to Suzdal

The museum features some peasant houses that are about 100 years old.

In the summer we decided to visit the ancient museum-city of Suzda l, one of the oldest cities in Russia and one that has preserved its unique character to this day.

The route chosen was as follows: Moscow to Pereslavl-Zalessky to Suzdal via Yuryev-Polsky .

A Journey to Suzdal

As we entered Suzdal, a beautiful view of the city lay before us.

A little background information:

Suzdal was first mentioned in chronicles in the year 999. In the middle of 11th century Suzdal became a major commercial and manufacturing centre, as it was located on the Kamenka River, which at that time was a trade route. During the reign of Yury Dolgoruky , Suzdal became the capital of the Rostov-Suzdal principality.

Suzdal saw active building take place in the 16th-17th centuries. It was during this time that all the existing architectural ensembles were built, the best of which are the ancient Kremlin, and the Pokrovsky and Spaso-Evfimiyevsky monasteries. During the second half of the 19th century, Suzdal became an isolated provincial town. No industry developed in the city – in no small measure due to the fact that Suzdal was not located on a railway line. On the other hand, this was one of the reasons why the architectural appearance of the city has remained intact.

A Journey to Suzdal

Today Sudzal is a 'museum town': there are over 200 architectural monuments from the 12th-19th centuries. Suzdal's streets are located on the banks of the Kamenka River, which zigzags through the city. The buildings in Suzdal are mostly one-storey (there are no high-rise buildings at all) and many of them are wooden or clad in wood specifically to maintain the town's unique style. The natural wood and white stone walls of the monasteries are the hallmarks of Suzdal. The city's main attractions include five monasteries, more than 15 churches, the Suzdal Kremlin architectural ensemble, the shopping arcades and the Museum of Wooden Architecture and Peasant Life.

A Journey to Suzdal

Reaching the end of the Kremlyovskaya Ulitsa, you will run into another white-stone wall with battlements. This is the Suzdal kremlin – the oldest part of the city. According to archaeological excavations, it was at this spot at the end of the 9th century that the first settlement appeared, which later gave rise to Suzdal.

Up until the 12th century, the city was located on the territory of the present-day kremlin.   The fortress was built at the turn of the 11th-12th centuries, when Vladimir Monomakh built the cathedral and buildings of the princely court here. A deep moat cut across the bend of the river, making the kremlin area of the town an island. The fortress was surrounded by a ring of earthen ramparts running a distance of up to 1,400 metres. They are well preserved, except for the uppermost portion, which was removed in the 18th century. Wooden walls with towers ran along the tops of the ramparts. The eastern side of the kremlin, which faced on to a plain and thus represented the most vulnerable point for an enemy attack, was reinforced with special care. The wide eastern moat has been well preserved. Its depth reaches 17 metres.

A Journey to Suzdal

The cathedral has kept its golden gate from the 13th century, decorated using fire gilding, its magnificent iconostasis of the 17th century, the pride of the temple – the 'king-lantern', which weighs about 160 kg, ancient paintings and holy vessels.

According to dictates of Bishop Serapion, in 1635, to the south of the Cathedral of the Nativity, the cathedral bell tower was being built. Together with the powerful domes of the church, the bell tower played an important role in the composition of the city skyline. In those days it was the tallest building in Suzdal – a huge octagonal pillar, covered with a giant tented roof. There are large windows at the top of the pillar – 'bell stations', hung with bells, and at the end of the 17th century clocks were installed, striking not only every quarter hour and hour, but every minute. The row of bells was covered by a flat roof, out of which sprouts a huge tented roof. It is an ancient approach to wooden architecture.

A Journey to Suzdal

At the end of the 17th century, a chapel was built connecting the bell tower with the Bishop's Chambers with easy crossings on the three large spans. At the same time, the north side of the bell tower was enclosed by a concourse, creating a cosy cathedral courtyard. Behind the kremlin curves the slowly flowing Kamenka River, with its smooth surface reflecting the surrounding beauty like a mirror.

A Journey to Suzdal

After going over the bridge across the river, you reach the Suzdal Museum of Wooden Architecture and Peasant Life, which displays wooden architectural monuments from different eras.  A stroll there is both pleasant and informative. The museum is designed in the form of a village with a street featuring houses, churches and other buildings.

A Journey to Suzdal

To the south-west of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral is a very rare and valuable monument – the tent-roofed Uspenskaya Trapeznaya Church of the 16th century. It is an indigenous type of church in which the Russian masters completely moved away from the cross-domed Byzantine system.

Selena Gomez

TODAY Show co-host Hoda Kotb sits down with Selena Gomez — and Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy — for this week’s episode of her podcast “Making Space” to discuss their mission to change the way we talk about mental health .

Musicians Who Have Opened Up About Their Mental Health Struggles

Trending on billboard.

“Ultimately we are able to help over 700,000 schools, we’ve raised $13 million… my goal has always been, ‘How can I make a positive change in this world?,'” she told Kotb. “Doing it through makeup sounds a little interesting but it is a part of your mental health. It’s mind, body and soul, people think they should feel a certain way and I wanted Rare to be a place where everyone felt like they belong.”

Gomez also recalled a conversation with an older women going through a divorce around the time the singer released her empowering 2019 single, “Lose You To Love Me,” and said that their five-minute chat was way more gratifying that taking a selfie with a fan. “I just noticed that those are the things that keep me going,” Gomez said of meaningful interactions and the importance of making connections. “She made my day and I hopefully was able to make hers.”

But once Gomez was able to talk to people and work out some of those issues, “it became so clear and so important to me that I now make it a part of my life. I have boundaries. I learned to say no when I need to. I have great relationships and friends and wonderful relationships with people that I learn from.” At the end of the day, she said, it’s about owning her power and knowing, “I am who I surround myself with.”

In March, Gomez spoke on a panel at SXSW about her vulnerable 2022 doc My Mind & Me , confessing that she was on the fence about releasing the move to the public. “The moment I did that, I felt this insane amount of release,” she explained at the time about a feeling that she had to hit “ rock bottom ” before being able to overcome some of her challenges. “There wasn’t any hiding anymore. It was probably one of the hardest moments of my life.”

The doc was filmed over six years and it delved into the singer’s battles with depressive episodes and anxiety; Gomez revealed in 2020 that she was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. At the third annual Rare Beauty Mental Health Summit in New York in May Gomez — the most-followed woman on Instagram with 428 million followers — told Kotb that she disabled the comments on her Insta except for her friends. “So I think I’ve created boundaries to help me,” she said. “I felt empowered by doing that,” she added, “by saying, ‘This is just for me.’”

And she still is. Speaking on Kotb’s podcast, Gomez said now when she looks in the mirror in the morning she sees someone who is “waking up every day and trying her best. And that’s all I could ask for at the end of the day.”
