I paid 132 euro each for the best view. BIG MISTAKE.

No seats and the the area was overcrowded. Stewards were useless. Lots of people without Front Stage Passes came into the area which meant we had a very poor view.

Police refused us access to disabled parking even though we showed them the badge so we had to park at the Miramar and get a taxi. When we were drooped off we were next to the disabled parking where there were still spaces available. No doubt being saved for friends of the police.

We could not see the support act as they were not on the stage but performed at the far side of the venue. We could not leave our position or we would have had no view at all for the main show.

The main show was due to start at 10pm but started at 10.25. We were told by Rod Stewart he would play for 2 hours. The show ended at 12.05 !

Our friends who paid 85 euros for seats fared little better being surrounded by noisy drunks who the stewards refused to deal with.

When you promote an artist who is over 70 you should realise his fans are the same age and the facilities were woeful. Standing for over 4 hours is unacceptable.

Took my daughter for her birthday absolutely amazing show we danced all night. Well worth the aches this morning. Rod sang all his old ones and a few new ones and really got the crowd singing along.

I would definitely recommend to go see him before he stops touring although I don’t think he will. The only bad point which will have nothing to do with rod himself was that leaving the carpark was horrendous. Not very carefully thought out at all badly organised. It took us an hr and 40 minutes just to get a few yards out of the car park and on to the road. Great night though wouldn’t have missed it for the world.

This was amazing! A true honour to see Rod in full flight. It was the first night of a 5 month tour and there were a few minor technical glitches but Rod, as the charismatic entertainer he is managed to make a joke about them and and make the audience feel like we were all participating in the show together. He made relatively large stadium feel like a small intimate gig. At 74 I dare say he doesn't have the physical stamina of a Bruce Springsteen but it balances this out by giving plenty of time for solos and individual performances to his incredible band. This was a well crafted show that had the entire audience on their feet dancing by the end. Will definitely see him again if I get the opportunity!

His biggest hits include "Sailing" and "Baby Jane", "Maggie May" and "You Are in My Heart". With more than 250 million records sold, Rod Stewart became one of the most successful and popular rock musicians worldwide in the past decades. Now it almost sounds like goodbye. "One Last Time" is the name of the current tour, which will also take him to the Olympic Hall on 28 June 2024.

His career is impressive. Rod Stewart celebrated his first number one position in the British album charts with "Every Picture Tells a Story" as early as 1971 - one year before the Summer Olympics in Munich. The singer with the distinctive grating voice also has a long history with the Olympic Park. He performed in the Olympic Hall for the first time in 1978, followed by more than a dozen other concerts, most recently in 2019 as part of his "Blood Red Roses" tour. Named after his album, which once again lifted the passionate football fan and Celtic Glasgow supporter to the top of the UK charts.

Stewart, who was knighted by Prince William in 2016 for his many years of success in music as well as for his charitable commitment and has since been allowed to call himself "Sir Rod", is now returning to European stages at the eternally young age of 79 after his North and South American tour. "I'm looking forward to great, energetic shows with my wonderful fans," says the rock legend. I will perform my greatest hits - and of course there will be many surprises again." And that really "One Last Time"? Maybe there will be more after all.

Sir Roderick David Stewart was born on January 10, 1945, in London.

His music career began in 1962. In 1963, he joined The Dimensions as a vocalist. In 1964, Rod Stewart joined Long John Baldry and the All Stars before moving to the Jeff Beck Group in 1967.

Stewart joined Faces in 1969, but he also maintained a solo career, releasing his debut album that year.

His third album, Every Picture Tells a Story , released in 1971, was his breakthrough, featuring the ballad Maggie May .

After Stewart had some UK top-ten hits, the Faces broke up in 1975. His next hit single was Sailing , from the album Atlantic Crossing , released the same year.

A Night on the Town , released in 1976, became number one in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. Foot Loose & Fancy Free was released one year later.

The single Da Ya Think I’m Sexy , included on the album Blondes Have More Fun , released in 1978, went to number one in Canada, Australia and the US.

After a disco period in the late 1970s and early 1980s, his music turned to a soft rock style.

The single Rhythm of My Heart was a top five hit in the UK, US and other countries, with its source album, Vagabond Heart , released in 1991, becoming his highest-charting album in a decade.

In 1993, he collaborated with Bryan Adams and Sting on the power ballad All for Love , which went to number one in many countries.

In 2008, Billboard magazine ranked him the 17th most successful artist on the Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists.

He received a Grammy and Brit Award, and he was voted at No. 33 in Q Magazine’s list of the Top 100 Greatest Singers of all time.

As a solo artist, Stewart was inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006, and he was inducted a second time into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 as a member of Faces.

Rod Stewart is among the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold more than 120 million records worldwide.

He had 10 number-one albums and 31 top-ten singles in the UK, six of which reached number one. Stewart also had 16 top-ten singles in the US, with four reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

LUCCA SUMMER FESTIVAL

The first edition of the Lucca Summer Festival was held in 1998, when Bob Dylan, George Benson and Joe Cocker attended the event.

Over time, important artists performed at the festival, such as David Bowie, James Brown, Ray Charles, Elton John, Paul Simon, The Rolling Stones, Sting, and Scorpions.

As usual, the Lucca Summer Festival 2024 will take place during the month of July, in Lucca.

The concerts of the Lucca Summer Festival 2024 will be held in Piazza Napoleone, Piazza San Martino, Piazza dell’Anfiteatro , or in the former Campo Balilla, located outside the historic walls of Lucca.

Piazza Napoleone is located inside the city walls of Lucca, about 650 meters away from the Lucca railway station.

The closest bus stop is Napoleone , located in the northwestern corner of the square, on the bus Lines 5, LAM Blu and LAM Verde.

Sir Rod Stewart has addressed a rift between himself and his wife Penny Lancaster .

The rocker took to social media to "put the record straight", after claims that he and Penny were arguing with one another over the future of their marriage. It follows claims there had been a "disagreement" over where the couple should live. However, Sir Rod was adamant that they were happily splitting their time between the United Kingdom and their properties abroad.

In a statement shared with his 1.4 million followers on Instagram , Sir Rod said: "We wanted to put the record straight. There is no rift between Penny and I and no disagreement over where we should reside, in fact, it's the opposite. We moved permanently back to our beloved Britain a year ago but are fortunate to also have homes in different countries, which we love to visit."

He added: "Originally we did think it made sense to sell our house in LA, but having spent a wonderful time there this summer with family and friends during my Vegas residency we realised it makes sense to keep our house there. Two of my eldest children still live in Celtic House (The LA residence). Penny and I could not be more in love with each other after 27 glorious years. Please trust me on this... There's no disharmony in our marriage."

He signed off with: "Rod 'a very lucky man' Stewart." It comes after sources previously claimed that Rod was refusing to leave his home in Los Angeles, leaving his wife Penny "furious". It was reported that the 79-year-old musician had rejected two offers on their nine-bed property in the City of Angels.

A source previously told the MailOnline: "Rod loves his life in LA and he flies back and forth to Vegas for his gigs. He gets to spend quality time with his grandchildren and hosts a banquet dinner almost every Sunday night at home for a crowd of his best friends." The house sale woes come after Sir Rod slammed ill-health rumours, declaring he's "not dying".

The rock legend had to pull the plug on three gigs in Vegas, Lake Tahoe, and Lincoln, California, due to strep throat and Covid. The singer initially alarmed his followers by saying his "days were numbered" as he took time off to recuperate. He disclosed his health woes just before what would have been his 200th show in Sin City, expressing his disappointment: "Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me. I'm absolutely gutted. I've been looking forward to this concert for so long.

"My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused. Thankfully we'll now be returning in 2025 and I hope to see you all there." Yet, after stirring up worry among his fanbase with his candid admission, Rod has since clarified his comments to The Sun, insisting they were taken the wrong way: "When I said 'My days are numbered,' it was purely in jest. Aren't everybody's days numbered? I am in embarrassingly wonderful health and enjoying life to the full. I am not dying as far as I know."

Sir Rod Stewart has insisted that there is ‘absolutely no rift’ between him and his wife Penny Lancaster .

The Maggie May rockstar, 79, has opened up about their relationship in the wake of rumours he and Penny, 53, were going through a rocky patch over an apparent dispute over whether they should be based in the US .

He’s now clarified that there’s been ‘no disagreement’ and that the couple ‘could not be more in love’.

Sir Rod wrote on Instagram : ‘We wanted to put the record straight. There is absolutely no rift between Penny and I and no disagreement over where we should reside, in fact it’s the opposite.

‘We moved permanently back to our beloved Britain a year ago but are fortunate to also have homes in different countries, which we love to visit.

‘Originally we did think it made sense to sell our house in LA, but having spent a wonderful time there this summer with family and friends during my Vegas residency we realised that it makes sense to keep our house there.’

He went on to confirm that two of his eldest children still live in his LA residence, Celtic House.

Sir Rod continued: ‘Penny and I could not be more in love with each other after 27 glorious years.

‘Please trust me on this… there’s no disharmony in our marriage.’

The singer signed off his post with the line: ‘Rod “a very lucky man” Stewart.’

A report had earlier stated Sir Rod and Penny had differences after the singer reportedly did a U-turn on apparent plans to sell his $74million (£56million) mansion in Beverly Hills mansion and move back to his native Britain full-time.

London-born Sir Rod has just extended his Las Vegas residency , despite reports last year that his children want him to hang up his guitar and focus on his health.

Former swimwear model Penny, who was born in Essex, met the You Wear It Well hitmaker in 1999 when she performed as part of his band and while he was still married to his second wife Rachel Hunter.

Rachel, 54, and Sir Rod separated the same year and divorced in 2006.

The rocker is a father of eight children by different five women, with his kids aged from 59 to 13.

His kids are daughter Sarah Streeter, 59, Kimberly, 43, Ruby, 35, and Renee, 30, and sons Sean, 42, and Liam, 28, as well as Alastair, 18, and 13-year-old Aiden.

Sir Rod also has three grandchildren – Delilah, 12, and 15-month-olds Otis and Louie.

His message read: "We wanted to put the record straight. There is absolutely no rift between Penny and I and no disagreement over where we should reside, in fact, it's the opposite.

"We moved permanently back to our beloved Britain a year ago but are fortunate to also have homes in different countries, which we love to visit. Originally, we did think it made sense to sell our house in LA, but having spent a wonderful time there this summer with family and friends during my Vegas residency we realised that it makes sense to keep our house there."

He continued: "Two of my eldest children still live in Celtic House (the LA residence). Penny and I could not be more in love with each other after 27 glorious years. Please trust me on this... There's no disharmony in our marriage."

He signed off his message by adding: "Rod 'a very lucky man' Stewart."

According to a report in MailOnline, the couple had decided to sell their Beverly Hills home and relocate to their countryside retreat in Essex – a move which Sir Rod allegedly backtracked on at a later date.

The couple, who wed in 2007, brought their sprawling Essex mansion back in 2013, but didn't move into the property until 2016. Meanwhile, Rod purchased their LA home in 1991 for $12.08 million.

Earlier this month, the rock legend was forced to pull out of gigs in Vegas, Lake Tahoe, and Lincoln, California, due to falling ill with strep throat and Covid.

Rod had been due to perform at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas as part of his 13-year residency, 'The Hits' which premiered in 2011. Confirming his cancellation on his Instagram, he told his followers: "I'm desperately sorry to miss the 200th show celebration. Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me.

"I'm absolutely gutted. I've been looking forward to this concert for so long. My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused."

He finished by adding: "Thankfully we'll now be returning in 2025 and I hope to see you all there."

At the time, his fans wished him a speedy recovery, with one writing: "Wishing you a speedy recovery!" while a second noted: "Can't mess with strep! It can be nasty. We'd rather get you healthy to sing to us for many more years!"

Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster are desperately working on their 17-year marriage after the singer reneged on their plans to sell his $74 million Beverly Hills mansion and return full-time to the UK.

The veteran British rocker, 79, promised Lancaster, 53, they would pack up their lives in Los Angeles for their sprawling $5.8 million countryside estate in Harlow, Essex, after he revealed it was 'time to leave' the US last year.

But DailyMail.com has learned the pair are now at a 'stalemate,' with Stewart refusing to leave LA, and a furious Lancaster refusing to stay after he extended his Las Vegas residency and rejected two offers on the sprawling nine-bedroom property just over a month ago.

The news comes days after Lancaster - who has sons Alastair, 18, and Aiden, 13 with the Maggie May singer she married in 2007 - hinted at ‘family issues.’

‘Rod loves his life in LA and he flies back and forth to Vegas for his gigs ,’ a well-placed insider said. ‘He gets to spend quality time with his grandchildren and hosts a banquet dinner almost every Sunday night at home for a crowd of his best friends.’

Stewart revealed plans to relocate to his native UK in June 2023 when he listed his 33,000-square-foot Beverly Hills abode – which also includes a three-story guesthouse, swimming pool and a sizable soccer pitch for $70 million.

He then cranked up the asking price to $80 million in December, before slashing it by $6 million in February to leave a $74 million price tag.

But Stewart has since pulled the property from the market, leaving Lancaster - who is a regular on UK panel show Loose Women, works as a special constable for the City of London Police and considers the British countryside ‘home’ - fuming.

‘Penny has no plans to return to LA, which she’s not a fan of, while Rod has no plans to move back right now,’ the insider continued.

‘They’re at a stalemate and Penny is angry that Rod’s gone back on his word. It’s about saving their marriage right now.’

DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for Stewart and Lancaster for comment. 

Stewart, who first moved to LA in 1975, paid $12 million for the land on which he built his yellow stately mansion in 1991 after roping in California architect to the stars Richard Landry.

The property boasts 12 bathrooms, a huge formal dining room for over 20 guests, a speakeasy, a movie theater, a wood-paneled library, a wine room, two gyms, an eat-in chef’s kitchen, a tearoom – and also currently houses his 1,500sq ft model railway .

Stewart revealed plans to relocate to his native UK in June last year when he listed his 33,000-square-foot Beverly Hills abode for $70 million

Other design highlights include French marble, Regency-period furnishings and ornate-ceilings.

Stewart confirmed his return to the UK last June, citing his sons’ education as one of the leading factors.

‘The chance of me selling is very, very slim because I really love it so unless I get the right price I won’t sell it,’ he told Chris Evans on Virgin Radio.

‘I love Los Angeles and the American people have been very good to me, but it’s time to leave. My two boys, [17] and 12, are going to school here [UK].’

The Grammy-winner planned to make his palatial Essex estate, known as Durrington House, his permanent residence. He and Lancaster purchased the 10-bedroom, 18th century property back in 2016.

Lancaster recently referred to the mansion as ‘home’ on Instagram where she posted a picture of herself posing in the sprawling 46 acres of land.

‘After a couple of crazy days and nights in central London, there’s nothing I like more than getting back out to the country and laying out on the cool grass on an early summers evening,’ she wrote.

‘Breathing in fresh air and the smell of the earth beneath me. Listening to the birds and watching the butterflies, dance about while being chased by my two devoted doggies. I’m at peace, I’m home.’

The former swimwear model met the front man back in 1999 when she performed as part of his band while he was still married to his second wife Rachel Hunter.

Hunter and Stewart separated that year and divorced in 2006. He had previously been married to Alana Stewart.

The chart-topper has eight children by five women - daughters Sarah Streeter, 59, Kimberly, 43, Ruby, 35, and Renee, 30, and sons Sean, 42, and Liam, 28, as well as Alastair and Aiden.

He also has three grandchildren, Delilah, 12, and Otis and Louie, both one.

Lancaster has been open about her marriage to Stewart and their secrets to maintaining a healthy relationship for nearly two decades.

But on Tuesday she alluded to ‘family issues’ while discussing the rift between the royal family and Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on Loose Women.

Asked if they should try to ‘fix’ it all, Lancaster replied: ‘For me, I'm not judging one way or the other – you know, do I like Harry, do I think this or that?

‘I'm looking at the broader picture really, just about the family. We all have family issues to bear from time to time.

‘I think it's about possibly being able to mend some of those bridges, especially as there have been so many health scares within the family.’

On Thursday Stewart denied claims there had been tensions over where to live, confirming he is no longer selling his Beverly Hills property as they 'spent a wonderful time there this summer with family and friends.'

He added: 'Penny and I could not be more in love with each other after 27 glorious years. Please trust me on this... there's no disharmony in our marriage.'

Stewart’s refusal to sell-up follows the extension of his 13-year Las Vegas Residency, The Hits, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

The Sailing singer announced The Encore Shows earlier this month, which will see him return to the iconic venue for 12 dates in March, May and June next year.

It comes after he cancelled two dates in the North American leg of his tour this month as well as his August 7 performance for his Las Vegas residency, which would have been the 200th show, due to strep throat.

Stewart, who has had both prostate and thyroid cancer, told The Sun in July: ' I'm aware my days are numbered  but I've got no fear. We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket. 

'I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can. I say few – probably another 15. I can do that easy mate, easy.'

Sir Rod Stewart has addressed a rift between himself and his wife Penny Lancaster .

The rocker took to social media to "put the record straight", after claims that he and Penny were arguing with one another over the future of their marriage. It follows claims there had been a "disagreement" over where the couple should live. However, Sir Rod was adamant that they were happily splitting their time between the United Kingdom and their properties abroad.

In a statement shared with his 1.4 million followers on Instagram , Sir Rod said: "We wanted to put the record straight. There is no rift between Penny and I and no disagreement over where we should reside, in fact, it's the opposite. We moved permanently back to our beloved Britain a year ago but are fortunate to also have homes in different countries, which we love to visit."

He added: "Originally we did think it made sense to sell our house in LA, but having spent a wonderful time there this summer with family and friends during my Vegas residency we realised it makes sense to keep our house there. Two of my eldest children still live in Celtic House (The LA residence). Penny and I could not be more in love with each other after 27 glorious years. Please trust me on this... There's no disharmony in our marriage."

It was reported that the 79-year-old musician had rejected two offers on their nine-bed property in the City of Angels.

The singer initially alarmed his followers by saying his "days were numbered" as he took time off to recuperate. He disclosed his health woes just before what would have been his 200th show in Sin City, expressing his disappointment: "Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me. I'm absolutely gutted. I've been looking forward to this concert for so long.

"My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused. Thankfully we'll now be returning in 2025 and I hope to see you all there." Yet, after stirring up worry among his fanbase with his candid admission, Rod has since clarified his comments to The Sun, insisting they were taken the wrong way: "When I said 'My days are numbered,' it was purely in jest. Aren't everybody's days numbered? I am in embarrassingly wonderful health and enjoying life to the full. I am not dying as far as I know."

“I wanted the house to have the look of a giant wave at the peak of its strength,” said surfer-architect Harry Gesner.

A couple of years back, we lost a real gem when the surfer-architect and epic swordsman Harry Gesner got put in the dirt  just three orbits short of his centenary.

They sure don’t make ‘em like Harry Gesner anymore, this former GI who stormed the beach at Normandy in 1944, constantly scudding along the precipice of death without quite tipping into the void, unlike innumerable pals.  

Last year, Harry Gesner’s Wave House in Malibu , which was built in 1957 and occasionally listed as an inspiration for the Sydney Opera House (Danish architect Jørn Utzon’s design for the iconic Sydney harbour build was submitted in 1957 and he later called Gesner to congratulate him on the joint), and which was owned at one point by electro-haired singer Rod Stewart, famous for pairing pink singlets beneath a suit blazer, went on the market for $49.5 million.

A bullish short price, sure, but the place is beyond epic. It wasn’t in the same price league as the two-hundred mill Beyonce and Jay-Z spent on their “cement monolith, designed by architect master Tadao Ando, home right up from First Point” but what you missed in lavish you got in soul.

To get to the “soul of the site,” he’d surf the breaks in front of beachfront properties he was designing, giving him a perspective on the landscape and the area’s relationship with the ocean. During one of these “soul sessions” in northern Malibu in 1956, he sketched a design for a particularly wild and jazzy house with a grease pencil on the deck of his board. The result was his most celebrated creation, the world-famous Cooper Wave House built in 1957… The Cooper House especially pulls from an eclectic patchwork of design hooks—the buttressed beam framing of Notre Dame; Richard Neutra’s blurring of indoor and outdoor space; the fluid and refined lines of Frank Lloyd Wright; the space-age, B-movie psychedelia of Barbarella. Harry credits his style to a lack of formal training and to the improvisational skills he developed surfing. “I’m not sure my way of self education is the best for everyone,” he told me in 2007. “But I guess it speaks to originality and individuality.”

No bites at fifty mill so   the price was slashed by almost half and the joint has been now been scooped up by the venture capitalist Joshua Kushner, brother of Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, and his gal Victoria Secret’s model Karlie Kloss.  

Six beds, seven bathrooms, 6208 square feet built right there on the sand on Malibu.

The house’s former owner Rod Stewart, who turns eighty in January. is currently embroiled in a marriage “stalemate” after refusing a $74 million offer on his current residence, a modest palace in Los Angeles Ladera Heights, colloquially knowns as the “Black Beverly Hills”.

Rod Stewart, it’s said, reneged on a promise to return to the UK with this fifty-three-year-old wife Penny Lancaster who apparently loves that gloomy, rain-soaked island.

The two-time professional surfing champion Tyler Wright is nothing if not extremely and wholly inspiring. After winning back-to-back titles in the mid-2010s, the Culburra Beach born regular foot contracted the African Flu which lead to a long and brutal battle with post-viral syndrome which left her unable to get up in the morning. After fighting her way back to health, Wright opened up about the other obstacles overcome along the way. Her father, for example, made her drop out of school to surf all day. In a wide-ranging interview with ESPN she shared, “Everyone was like, ‘You’re living the dream at 16.’ I was like, ‘Whose dream? I don’t f—ing dream of this s—. I want to read books. I want to go to school.'”

There was much more, too many obstacles to properly recount, but fast-forwarding to this year, Wright admitted that she has been perpetually choking this whole time.

“I’ve had a fair few doctors and specialists tell me they don’t know how I do what I do. I found out that most of the time I’m under-oxygenated and semi-suffocating,” she shared sixth months ago , “My airways are too small basically, and over the off-season I had it expanded. Honestly it’s been life-changing, it’s the sanest I’ve ever felt. It’s really successful, it’s changing my life, but it’s also a process and that’s only step one and a half of a multi-step process.”

The expander allowed for flow of much needed air into lungs and the new season was filled with hope and joy. Well, it turns a new and unexpected medical horror was lurking. Taking to Instagram, Wright shared:

2024 season is a wrap, thank you to my wife and the Ocean. It wasn’t the season I wanted in terms of results and injuries however it put me into positions and situations where I had the opportunity to grow into someone that I am proud of.

Having this be the first season after getting my maxillary expander put in, I was so excited for all the things I could possibly accomplish this year. Even in the few months between getting it put in and competing, I had found it had improved my quality of life in such an enormous way and I couldn’t wait to see the benefits in my CT season. Unfortunately there was one aspect of this maxillary expansion process that proved to be a huge obstacle and was a reoccurring theme through this whole year. Due to the changing of bone structure in my head, leading to extra pressure on the sutures, plus the nature of the sport, I became temporarily a significant amount more susceptible to concussion. Having my jaw decompressing plate also highlighted that I now didn’t have the strength in my neck to protect me from whiplash.

My first surf after getting off the plane in Hawaii for the first event left me with a serious concussion and ended up setting the tone for the rest of the year. Through the season I struggled with multiple smaller hits to the head which previously wouldn’t have been on my radar but were now amplified with the additional pressure in my skull plus one more significant hit in Tahiti. It was devastating going into the season feeling the healthiest and happiest I’ve ever been to having that taken away so quickly and knocked straight back down as soon as I found my feet.

My maxillary expander has improved my life incredibly and I can acknowledge that I was navigating a new physical system with new obstacles this year that definitely took a toll on my competitive results. I learnt a lot this year around my mentality, resilience, values, and what I want. It may not have been the year I wanted but maybe the year I needed.

Can’t a girl just catch a break?

The New York Times rhapsodises surfer Mikey February in documentary, “I think about my ancestors who were brought to Cape Town as enslaved people”

Think of South African surfer Mikey February, not as the pro surfer who once upon a time ran on the world tour, but surfer as a beautiful object, a beautiful thing, worthy of worship.  

No one, I believe, can resist falling love with a such a face or a body with its small round pectorals and nipples like dark brown currants.

Now, the New York Times, a race-obsessed left-tilting newspaper that swings between parody and propaganda , and which was last in these pages when it slammed The Greatest Surf Movie in the Universe as “spectacularly bad “, has fallen under the thirty-one-year-old’s spell, running an op-ed piece from Mikey February, as well as a sixteen-minute documentary about him called A New Wave. 

Mikey February writes:

I was born in 1993, just as apartheid was ending in South Africa . My father is an avid surfer who introduced me to the sport at a young age, and the freedom he felt in the ocean had a big impact on me. He faced challenges pursuing the sport, since it was historically reserved for white South Africans and beaches were segregated until 1989 . But by the time I came around, things were changing. Being able to bring his son to the beach and into the water was something he’d always dreamed of. He’d always have a big smile on his face when we’d go surfing together, and he still does.

I often think about my ancestors who were brought to Cape Town as enslaved people. They were stripped of their humanity and identity and renamed February, after the month of their arrival . This history is part of my family’s story and I’m proud to carry the name, whose meaning and history changes and deepens with each generation. My parents being so proud of who they are makes me feel proud, too, and I work to continue that legacy.

Sir Rod Stewart addresses 'rift' in Penny Lancaster marriage in furious statement

Sir Rod Stewart has come forward to address rumours of a rift with his wife, Penny Lancaster. The rocker took to social media to "put the record straight", after claims that he and Penny were arguing with one another over the future of their marriage.

It follows claims there had been a "disagreement" over where the couple should live. However, Sir Rod was adamant that they were happily splitting their time between the United Kingdom and their properties abroad.

But, according to Sir Rod, who eloquently put his thoughts on Instagram for his impressive 1.4 million followers, things couldn't be more harmonious between the couple, as he penned: "We wanted to put the record straight. There is no rift between Penny and I and no disagreement over where we should reside, in fact, it's the opposite. We moved permanently back to our beloved Britain a year ago but are fortunate to also have homes in different countries, which we love to visit."

The rocker added: "Originally we did think it made sense to sell our house in LA, but having spent a wonderful time there this summer with family and friends during my Vegas residency we realised it makes sense to keep our house there. Two of my eldest children still live in Celtic House (The LA residence). Penny and I could not be more in love with each other after 27 glorious years. Please trust me on this... There's no disharmony in our marriage."

He cheekily signed off the statement, writing: "Rod 'a very lucky man' Stewart."

This revelation follows reports that Rod was adamant about staying put in his Los Angeles home, much to the annoyance of his wife Penny Lancaster. The 79 year old rock icon reportedly turned down two bids for their lavish nine-bedroom LA home reports the Mirror .

A source previously told MailOnline: "Rod loves his life in LA and he flies back and forth to Vegas for his gigs. He gets to spend quality time with his grandchildren and hosts a banquet dinner almost every Sunday night at home for a crowd of his best friends."

Amidst the property market drama, Sir Rod has been quick to dismiss any speculation about his health, insisting he's "not dying".

The music veteran had to cancel shows in Vegas, Lake Tahoe, and Lincoln, California, due to a bout of strep throat compounded by Covid. Depp's fans were initially concerned when he hinted that his "days were numbered" as he took a break to recover.

Opening up about his health struggles just before what would have been his milestone 200th performance in Las Vegas, he shared his frustration: "Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me. I'm absolutely gutted. I've been looking forward to this concert for so long.

"My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused. Thankfully we'll now be returning in 2025 and I hope to see you all there."

Yet, after stirring up worry among his fanbase with his candid admission, Rod has since clarified his comments to The Sun, insisting they were taken the wrong way: "When I said 'My days are numbered,' it was purely in jest. Aren't everybody's days numbered? I am in embarrassingly wonderful health and enjoying life to the full. I am not dying as far as I know."
