Where is hot in April? Our top 14 destinations

By Laura Chubb

Where is hot in April Our top 14 destinations

Spring is in full bloom, but so too are April showers, dampening Easter plans and keeping UK temperatures cool. Elsewhere in Europe , though, April sees the mercury steadily rise, making it a pleasantly off-peak time to take a classic city break , or explore a chic Mediterranean island without the crowds. Prefer buzz to solitude? Hit up street-shaking carnivals everywhere from South America to the Deep South. Now’s a fine time to find bargains on castaway islands , or maybe take that big trip Down Under, where warm autumn temperatures are forgiving enough for beach breaks, urban exploring and adventures in the wild. So without further adieu, these are the 14 destinations that are hot in April.

Where is hot in Europe in April?

As we settle into spring, there are plenty of European destinations that are considerably warmer than the UK without having to travel too far. Below, we recommend Rome (average temperature 19℃), Santorini (average temperature 19℃) and Capri (average temperature 20℃) as well as Sicily's capital Palermo (average temperature 19℃) and Cyprus (average temperature 21℃).

These are the 14 best and hottest destinations to visit in April and where to stay to make the most of your holiday.

Palermo, Sicily

Average April temperature: 19℃

The capital of Sicily has known many eras in its time – and the relics of these past periods are everywhere. The result is a city that genuinely blends cultures, cuisines and architectural styles seamlessly – Baroque churches and Middle Eastern-style buildings jut up against each other in a landscape backed by mountains and fringed by the sea. In April, temperatures have started to rise comfortably – go before the summer crowds flock in a few month's time.

Where to stay in April: Villa Igiea, a Rocco Forte Hotel, is set on a graceful estate that feels worlds away from frenetic Palermo. See our edit of the best hotels in Sicily for more inspiration.

Average April temperature: 21℃

Clear skies and beautiful beaches make this island – closer to the Middle East than Europe – an evergreen favourite for sunseekers. Families come here for the smart-but-relaxed hotel scene and all-but-promised good weather, while honeymooners love the island for its 160-plus beaches and secluded stays up in the interior mountains.

Where to stay: The best hotels in Cyprus include beachfront Amara , which has a next-level sushi restaurant on-site, and one of the best family holidays in Europe , Almyra .

Rome, Italy

You’ve done Rome , so now for the greater luxury: doing it as the Romans do. Temperate April is a fine time to explore the city as the locals see it, rather than as it’s visited: no dashing from sight to sight, madly ticking boxes, but rather making the most of the walking weather to wander, wonder and get gloriously lost. Around six miles from the Eternal City’s centre, Centocelle is a happening suburb steeped in contemporary Italian cool. Natural wine bar Menabó is a tough reservation to snag, but worth it for roasted octopus and grassy Grechetto. Even in Rome’s more crowded corners, there are delicious secrets hiding in plain sight. On Piazza di Spagna, find metaphysical painter Giorgio De Chirico’s apartment just as he left it in the late 1970s, with cluttered studio and a brilliant arrangement of his canvases and sketches.

Where to stay in April: close to Palazzo Borghese is Hotel Vilòn , a mansion-turned-boutique-hotel on a blink-and-miss-it cobblestoned street.

Cartagena, Colombia

Average April temperature: 31℃

Easter in Colombia is the year’s biggest, most essential celebration, and it swells Cartagena’s streets with feasts and parades. Holy Week – leading up to Easter Sunday – is not the time to visit if you’re crowd-phobic, but to see this sultry city at its most festive, it can’t be beat. Temperatures here are steamy year-round, and the old town has long lost its best-kept-secret tag, so you might as well lean into the heat and the hordes. Plus, it’s still very romantic, with its corn-yellow colonial mansions, flower-filled balconies, clip-clopping horse-drawn carriages and palm-dotted squares. Stir in generous measures of rum cocktails and salsa music, and you’ve got yourself a hell of a holiday, even if it’s not exactly subdued.

Where to stay in April: Stay at Casa San Agustin , the best boutique hotel within the old city walls, so you can take restorative breaks on its sun-drenched rooftop and in its L-shaped pool.

Santorini, Greece

Santorini isn’t the A-lister’s Greek island because of its beaches, many of which are imperfect black-sand or pebble numbers. Nor is it for privacy, given that 15,000 locals share their home with around two million visitors each year. No, Santorini is the darling of fashion photographers, romantics, influencers and bon vivants because it is, quite simply, the Med’s most stunning sight. An inhabited caldera, its chalk-white villages and sea-view suites teeter on steep lava cliffs, skirting an interior of bewitching Aegean blue. The sunsets are so pinch-me perfect, advancing dusk sees Santorini’s hairpin roads clogged with buses, all agitating to catch that peerless shot. Behold the revelation, then, that is April: restaurants and bars newly flung open after a stormy winter, hotel rates pleasingly discounted. It might not be quite sunbathing weather yet, but it is vineyard weather and slurping oysters-in-your-seaside-cabana weather and cocktails-on-your-roof-terrace weather.

Where to stay in April: at Nous , a luxe retreat with unique architecture and design notes that hit a lovely harmony between a remote hideout and a lively base.

Capri, Italy

Average April temperature: 20℃

April is when Capri springs to life again, with enough sunny days to warrant packing a beach bag (though only hardened wild swimmers would dare a dip in the sea). Mid-month, beach clubs start opening up for the season, but there’s plenty to do before the party people dock. Take the chair lift to Monte Solaro for a heart-swelling panorama over the Gulf of Naples ; hire a gozzo fishing boat and explore Capri’s hidden coves and grottoes; go window-shopping for chic villas spilling bougainvillaea; wander the island’s decidedly upmarket, curving streets. And for every see-and-be-seen restaurant and seaside bar, there’s a genuine gem. Da Paolino, with tables set between rows of fragrant trees in a lemon grove, is a favourite with designer Nicky Zimmermann .

Where to stay in April: On a cliffside hovering above Marina Grande, the island's humming harbour, JK Place Capri is a welcome refuge from the tourists congesting the port below.

Bazaruto Archipelago, Mozambique

Average April temperature: 25℃

In the 1950s the Bazaruto archipelago, a string of six, immaculate islands off the sleepy shores of mainland Mozambique’s Vilankulo, had a certain reputation. Particularly the Santa Carolina hotel, on one of the smaller islands, where a colourful mix of the rich, renegade and rock ’n’ roll would land on its private airstrip, primed for clandestine revelry (it’s said Bob Dylan composed his song ‘Mozambique’ on the hotel’s baby grand). Decades of civil war spoiled the party, but today Bazaruto is quietly making a comeback, thanks to the splendour of its wild, dune-backed beaches, left for the longest time to themselves. And authentic island life isn’t just for visitors. Bazaruto, in particular, offers a rich, living tapestry of vibrant villages, waving schoolchildren, freshwater lakes, savannah grassland and mangrove swamps.

Where to stay in April: On the island of Benguerra AndBeyond has a bush camp-style hideaway with private plunge pools and cocktails served from a traditional sea-going dhow. On Bazaruto, the largest island, Anantara has a scattering of thatched beach villas and its signature spa.

Average April temperature: 27℃

One of the great pleasures of Mauritius is the culture: a real world of hot curries, temples and tea plantations outside the hotels. And now, one white-sand beach retreat aims to bring these disparate spheres together. SALT of Palmar – an east-coast eco hotel complete with organic food, e-bikes and hip rooftop bar – encourages guests to take part in its Skill Swap programme, matching them to islanders with similar passions so they might bond over regionally nuanced takes on shared skills. Artists might meet local painters and craft cocktail-makers could match with Mauritian mixologists – such as Denis Aristide, a taro farmer who also steers the hotel bar and favours ingredients including ylang ylang essence sourced from a local boutique estate. With cyclone season ending in March and May ushering in winter, April might just be the best time to get to know Mauritius.

Where to stay in April: At the most acclaimed hotel in these parts, LUX* Grand Baie .

New Orleans, USA

Average April temperature: 26℃

New Orleans is so much more than the French Quarter, but it’d be daft to come here in April and miss the Easter parades. As flamboyant as Mardi Gras, if somewhat less raucous, several separate processions march their floats and Sunday-best bonnets through the famous neighbourhood, including a truly fabulous Gay Easter Parade. The weather might suit sunny wanders among Garden District antebellum mansions, but save some time for hipster Bywater: Bacchanal’s fairy-lit wine patio is a must. Meanwhile, more contemporary hotels are leaping from strength to strength here.

Where to stay in April: at Peter & Paul : a converted Catholic church and convent in Marigny – the French Quarter’s equally jazz-club-packed, but more boho-artsy, neighbour – it’s a masterclass in design, and the service is trѐs bien.

Perth, Australia

Long out on a limb – Perth is bunched into the corner of Western Australia , separated from the rest of the country by vast swathes of punishing outback terrain – the riverside state capital is now, for the first time, reachable by direct flight. Qantas must’ve clocked the new cultural cachet that’s lately made Australia’s most isolated city a proper rival to capital-in-all-but-name Sydney and cool-kid Melbourne , launching a non-stop from Heathrow in 2019. But you don’t travel 17 hours just for a sunny city break – though Perth is certainly that (it’s palpably pulsing with new energy: slick restaurants showing off Swan River views; blockbuster galleries and street murals; the spanking-new Ritz-Carlton Perth). Wider WA, though, possesses a wilder allure. Ningaloo Reef is just as jaw-to-the-floor ravishing as the Great Barrier, and with far fewer visitors; the Kimberley’s immense gorges and bizarre natural rock sculptures (see: the Bungle Bungles) are about as humbling as landscapes get. Oh, and the beaches. Everything about WA is hot.

Average April temperature: 32℃

Sri Lanka  has had a tough go of things in the past few years – but more recently, the teardrop  island  has had a serious renaissance and is now back on most peoples' bucket lists as a wonderful warm weather destination. Across the island, you'll find astonishing beaches, national parks with jaw-dropping wildlife-spotting opportunities, hill country paddies to explore – as well as some of the best food in this part of Asia and some seriously smart hotels, too.

Where to stay in April: Wild Coast Tented Lodge in Yala National Park is the spot for animal lovers. Beach bums with deep pockets should check out Amanwella .

St Barth’s, Caribbean

Average April temperature: 29℃

The Caribbean ’s chicest island is back in business, after twin hurricanes Irma and Maria wreaked havoc in the region in 2017. And April is the sweet spot for lapping up its revamped boutique suites and beach clubs , with the winter crowds gone and storm season safely some time away (typically kicking in around July ).

Where to stay in April: Two of our favourites, secluded Hotel Le Toiny and Villa Marie Saint-Barth (sister to the glamorous Villa Marie Saint-Tropez), were hit hard by the hurricanes, but have come back better than ever. The former, hidden away on St Barth’s rugged south-east side, has relaunched its beach club, with seafront pool, sunbeds and no end of chilled rosé; the hotel, all whites and creams and petrified wood, has also added eight new rooms, with pools and ocean-view terraces. At the island’s opposite end, Villa Marie – whitewashed, shuttered, with dangling bamboo egg chairs – has been fully restored.

Seville, Spain

This Spanish city is finally getting the recognition it deserves, but spring and autumn are the ultimate times to visit Seville. Temperatures can reach a balmy 25℃, but if you work around school holidays you’ll avoid the hordes of tourists visiting during half term and Easter break. The city is best explored through its food scene – our favourite lunch spot is Mercado de Triana, where Bar La Muralla serves up proper tapas amid bustling locals buying groceries and catching up with friends. For dinner, book a table at El Rinconcillo, a centuries-old restaurant where the waiters will tell you the best things to order (on and off menu). It's slightly cooler than in the summer months, so spend afternoons strolling through the city’s prettiest parks – the Royal Alcázar is the loveliest green spot come spring Where to stay in April: Nobu Seville offers the best of both worlds: a buzzy spot right in the city centre, close to all of Seville’s top restaurants and bars, with a zen rooftop space for relaxing come sundown, plus there’s a plunge pool if the weather is warm enough. Read our full list for more of Seville’s top hotels .

Marrakech, Morocco

Average April temperature: 25ºC

Marrakech is beautiful year-round, but the city is truly spectacular come spring. Tourists slowly start coming to the city around this time of year, so come early to make the most of the city. The medina comes alive as the city begins hotting up, with flashes of bright colours from overflowing bags of spices, the distant echoes of prayers and the hustle and bustle of the marketplace – all best enjoyed before the temperatures reach their peak in the summer months.

Where to stay in April: La Mamounia is always a safe bet in Marrakech. Having played host to the likes of Charlie Chaplin, Winston Churchill and Alfred Hitchcock, hours can be whiled away in the hotel’s vast gardens, peaceful pool or rooftop balconies. Take a look at our guide to Marrakech’s best hotels for more inspiration.

Where is hot in April: 10 destinations for a sizzling spring break

hot travel destinations april

The last dregs of winter are nearly behind us and things are starting to heat up. So, where exactly is hot in April for a warm pre-summer trip away?

With so many options for finding some fun in the sun, there needs to be a serious discussion about the best hot destinations in April. From the sunny shores of California to the humidity of Southeast Asia, here are my top picks.

A curving highway between hills in a desolate landscape.

Where is hot in April 2024?

  • Panama City
  • Hot and cheap destinations

Where’s hot in Europe in April?

There are so many destinations for sun chasers to run to in search of better weather! Europe is a viable option in April, plus it’s easily accessible and typically budget-friendly. Ready to dive in? Here are my picks for the hottest places to visit in April in Europe:

1. Catanzaro, Italy

A picturesque long white beach with colourful houses lined at the base and top of the surrounding mountain.

  • Average temperature in April:  13°C
  • Average hours of daily sun:  6

You can’t really go wrong with visiting Italy at any time of year . From the tip of the toe to the top of the boot, the country is a hot spot for incredible trips away and, of course, has very favourable weather for most of the year. But where is hot in Italy in April? Heading south is a safe bet which is precisely why I’m recommending a visit to the stunning city of Catanzaro on the coast of Calabria.

Spend your days strolling on the beach and relaxing at one of several amazing hotels in Calabria . You can enjoy the waters of the Ionian Sea or make a short trip to the other side of the coast to the Mediterranean. With the temperatures rising every day for both land and sea in April, Catanzaro is a brilliant spot for those after somewhere hot in Europe that’s not too far from home.

2. Lanzarote, Canary Islands

Three palm trees stand beside a field of plants growing inside the crater-like hollows on fertile grounds.

  • Average temperature in April:  19°C
  • Average hours of daily sun:  10

It is a well-known fact that the Canary Islands can get pretty hot, making them an all-year-round sun destination. April is a lovely month to visit, though, thanks to fewer crowds and less intense temperatures in the low 20s.

If you’re a fan of hiking and enjoying delicious local meals al fresco with ocean views, Lanzarote is one of the best Canary Islands to visit . It’s well-known for its golden beaches and pretty seaside towns like Costa Teguise . Most are brimming with traditional dining spots where you can tuck into seafood dishes paired with local wines. Speaking of wine, why not venture into Le Geria in the island’s interiors to sample some at local vineyards famed for their volcanic soil?

Lanzarote’s Timanfaya National Park is a major highlight of any trip – especially in April when milder temperatures make hiking its jaw-dropping landscapes much more pleasant. If you want to avoid the school holiday crowds, visit later in April once the summer term has started.

3. Malaga, Spain

A unique spectacular sunlit church's rooftop made of multiple small hemispherical roofs with its protruding bell tower.

  • Average temperature in April:  16°C
  • Average hours of daily sun:  11

Wondering where is hot in April in Spain? Malaga is the capital of the Costa Del Sol and a brilliant spot for a spring getaway. Although it’s a popular destination for tourists seeking the sun throughout summer, you’ll find Malaga is a lot quieter in April. While most people may come for the warmer weather, the city itself is stunning, boasting impressive architecture that’s a mixture of North African and European influence.

There’s no better time to appreciate just how beautiful this city is than under the warm April sun and with considerably less crowds than in the summer months. While they don’t call it the Costa Del Sol for nothing, you might encounter a tiny bit of rain during your trip – but that shouldn’t deter you from taking a trip to Malaga. Temperatures can comfortably reach the low 20s, so you’re bound to have a few beach days.

4. Kotor, Montenegro

People stroll on a promenade along a bay with views of a coastal city with buildings perched on the hillsides.

  • Average temperature in April:  14°C

There is just no end to the superlatives I can use to describe this stunning fjord-like city. Kotor is a magical destination and has fantastic weather throughout the year, with temperatures reaching the late 20s even in October . But what’s the weather like in April?  The warmest days see temperatures pushing a nice 18°C, especially if you travel towards the end of the month.

The mild temperature can be an advantage when visiting this incredible destination. Hikes up to the iconic fortress of Kotor will be less sweaty than during the summer months. And while only the brave may fancy taking a dip in the pristine waters of the Bay of Kotor, you’ll certainly feel refreshed when you come out. Additionally, those waters won’t be as busy with cruise ships as in the summer, which makes exploring Kotor’s beautiful old town much more peaceful.

Where’s hot in April: the rest of the world

While things are definitely warming up in Europe, countries south of the equator will be cooling down. Still, that shouldn’t stop you from looking at trips to Africa, South America and Southeast Asia, as some parts are still going to be very warm in April.

5. Tunis, Tunisia

Beautiful view over of seaside and white blue village Sidi Bou Said. Tunisia, North Africa.; Shutterstock ID 686855305; Purpose: CITY; Brand (KAYAK, Momondo, Any): KAYAK

  • Average temperature in April:  15°C

The capital of Tunisia, Tunis, sits between the Mediterranean Sea and Lake Tunis, making it an ideal location for sun seekers wanting to be close to water. If the sea is too windy for you, though, you can always retreat across the city to the lake to enjoy April’s warmth instead.

The word ‘warm’ is definitely the right one to use when talking about Tunis in spring, too. Temperatures on the warmest days can easily exceed 24°C, making it a fantastic destination for a sunny break on the Mediterranean in April. Additionally, you’ll likely find flights and accommodation much cheaper compared to summer – which is all the more reason to book a break in Tunis.

Do you want to know where is hot in April (and I mean really, really hot)? The Caribbean is a sure-fire destination for some heat in April! If you haven’t explored this magical part of the world before, the Island of Saint Lucia is an amazing place to start. Easily one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean , it has white sandy beaches, incredible hiking trails and mesmerizing turquoise waters.

Make sure you visit the world’s only ‘drive-through’ volcano st Sulphur Springs where you can drive right up to the edge of the site and admire the steam being released from the sulphur pits. April is a busy month to visit Saint Lucia, so it’s a good idea to book as early as possible (particularly if you’re looking at the Easter holidays).

As this is the Caribbean, sudden showers can never be ruled out completely. Nevertheless, April is one of the driest months of the year in Saint Lucia.

Want to visit a hot destination in April 2024 that will inject a bit of glitter and glamour into your travel plans? It would be silly to not include the UAE somewhere on this list. After all, it is one of the hottest countries you can visit in April.

The capital city,  Abu Dhabi , is every bit as luxurious as its glamorous neighbour Dub ai. But Abu Dhabi, arguably, has better beaches – making it a great option for sun worshippers. Needless to say, you can expect plenty of heat if you decide to hit the beach at Corniche or Al Bateen Beach. Plus, unlike in Dubai, you’ll find the beaches are a lot quieter during April.

The UAE capital sees temperatures as high as 34°C in April. Make sure you pack your sun cream and drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated on your trip if you do decide to add it to your April agenda.

It experiences majestic, hot and humid thunderstorms that wash over you unexpectedly and feel refreshing in the city’s high humidity. There really isn’t anything else quite like it.

The temperature and humidity are sweltering most days in April, with temperatures often above 30°C. You can spend hours, both day and night, swimming in an outdoor pool without feeling chilly. Plus, everywhere – from shops to museums – are usually air-conditioned if you need some respite. What’s in Panama other than a very famous canal? Fabulous warm weather of course! Panama is one of the hottest countries you can visit in April and Panama City is a great destination for a mix of culture and relaxation. The canal is really quite something and runs through the dense jungle outside the city. It’s a shining example of engineering to protect the landscape and preserve the natural environment.

In fact, the canal is so well kept that not only can you swim in it fairly comfortably throughout the year, there’s even the option of scuba diving at Gatun Lake near Panama City. With average daily temperatures hitting a sweltering 28°C, taking in the many sights before cooling off with a swim is a great way to experience Panama City. Note that the end of April spells the end of the dry season in Panama, so be sure to plan your trip accordingly unless you’re happy to get a little wet!

The best places to visit in April 2024

April brings a seasonal shift across the globe, making it the ideal time of year for exploring ancient wonders, embarking on epic adventures and savoring fresh local produce.

So grab your passport and pack your suitcase for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Here’s our guide to the very best places to go in April.

Where are the best places to travel to in April for wildlife and nature?

GettyImages-146140227-RM.jpg

Why now? For warm, wild times on the Nature Isle.

Dominica isn’t like other Caribbean countries. Black sand, rampant jungle, a relative dearth of slick-and-swanky resorts: this is tropical paradise as nature intended, rustic and authentic. It’s a great place for hikes (unusual for the region). It’s arguably even better for spotting huge marine creatures: around 200 sperm whales plus porpoises and dolphins live here year-round, while migrating humpbacks pass by (January–April) and four species of sea turtle – leatherbacks, loggerheads, greens and hawksbills – come to nest (March–October).

South Korea

Why now? Perfect petals, with a generous side of culture, too.

Think cherry blossoms only pop in Japan? Think again. South Korea puts on equally dazzling displays come springtime. Several flower-related festivals are held in capital Seoul in April; wander beneath dreamy blooms at Seokchon Lake, on Yeouido Island and through the grounds of 15th-century Changgyeonggung Palace .  While you're in Seoul you'd be remiss not to indulge in the incredible food scene . Further south, around Busan , the port city of Jinhae hosts the country's most extensive cherry blossom festival.  Meantime,  Gyeongju hosts an annual Cherry Blossom Marathon in early April. The former capital of the ancient Silla dynasty, the city is also home to more temples, tombs, pagodas and palaces than anywhere else in the country.

Where are the best places to travel to in April for adventure?

Why now? For desert adventures in the kindest temperatures.

Compact Jordan offers the complete package . Ancient wonders? Visit the 2000-year-old rock-hewn city of Petra or Karak ’s Crusader castle . City sights? Try Roman Jerash or the souks of Amman . Jaw-dropping landscapes? Camp in the other-worldly deserts of Wadi Rum . More surprisingly, Jordan can also be very green – especially at this time. In April, humidity and rainfall are low, temperatures loiter delightfully at a mild 20–23°C (68–73°F), the central valleys are lush from winter rains and wildflowers bloom everywhere. In particular, Ajloun Forest is abloom with strawberry trees and rock roses, while Dana ’s oases are bright with oleander and birds. Also, the vastness of Petra can be explored without breaking a sweat.

KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

Why now? For stable weather, mighty mountains, moving history and massive mammals.

For an excellent South African all-rounder, look no further than KwaZulu-Natal . The province has golden Indian Ocean frontage, the country’s highest peaks and brilliant big-game parks. Its earth is soaked with history, too, most notably the bloody skirmishes of the 1879 Anglo-Zulu War, best appreciated on guided trips to the battlefield sites of Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift . But if you really want to know where to go, check out our Where the Local's Go series on South Africa . Soak it all up in the austral autumn, when the weather is still warm (24°C; 75°F) and the skies dry. Conditions are generally stable in the spear-like Drakensberg Mountains as well, opening a world of wonderful walking of all levels, via geological amphitheaters, pools and waterfalls, imposing spires and San rock art.

Where are the best places to travel to in April for culture?

Triple-Crossing-4-Michael-Simon.jpg

Richmond, Virginia, USA

Why now? To raise a glass to better climes.

There’s a buzz about  Virginia ’s capital city – and it’s not just the coming of spring (though April is indeed lovely here). A burst of creative energy has given this handsome but old fashioned–feeling “River City” a new vitality. The booze scene is certainly booming, garnering Richmond the nickname “America’s Beer City.” Indeed, more than 20 craft breweries call the city home, all visitable along the Richmond Beer Trail . The ale-averse may be happy to discover that Richmond has a growing cocktail scene, too: order something fabulous at The Jasper , which oozes speakeasy style, or settle in at classic dive bar Fuzzy Cactus .

Rome, Italy

Why now? Visit the Eternal City on its birthday.

History buffs might like to visit Rome on its birthday. The Eternal City was founded on 21 April 753 BCE, and every year it celebrates with events, light shows and truck-loads of fireworks. Festivities aside, April and May are delightful times to visit. Rome is a city for sightseeing, which is far better done on milder spring days (15–20°C; 59–68°F) than in the depths of winter or heights of summer. It’s also less busy (and a little cheaper), and seasonal attractions are open. You can wander the streets and pop into any of these 5 shops for something delightful and to top it all off, menus abound with such tasty spring things as artichokes and asparagus. A Roman speciality combining peas, fava beans, lettuce and artichokes,  vignarola is the season’s signature dish.

Where are the best places to travel to in April for food and drink?

GettyImages-1254949295-RFC.jpg

Peloponnese, Greece

Why now? Gorge on great food, in warming weather.

Hanging south of mainland Greece , the mountainous Peloponnese peninsula, the one-time heartland of the Spartans, is both historically rich and fantastically fertile. So come in mild, sunny spring, to walk the ruins – Olympia , Mycenae , Epidaurus – in pleasant temperatures (average maximum 21°C; 70°F) and to eat yourself silly. Speciality produce ranges from Kalamata olives to tsakoniki eggplant, and roast suckling pig to the Menalon mountains’ vanilla fir honey, which has protected-origin status. Even better, tourism here is more community-focused than mass-market, with family-run food tours, guesthouses and tavernas enabling you to sample authentic favors. The wine is great, too: try super reds from Nemea and sweet white Malvasia from Monemvasia.

Martinborough---Have-You-Ever---Camilla-Rutherford-RM.jpg

Wairarapa, New Zealand

Why now? Raise a glass outside the capital.

Come grape-harvest season, when the vines blaze autumnal-orange across the hillsides as they wait to be plucked, raise a glass like a true Wellingtonian. The Wairarapa Wine Region, only an hour’s drive northeast of  New Zealand’s capital , has a climate similar to Burgundy and a wild, rural, undiscovered feel. Make for Martinborough, the charming old town at the heart of the local wine industry. Top-quality pinot noir hails from the family-owned vineyards hereabouts.  Luna has a restaurant on site; smaller, more intimate options include Nga Waka and Schubert . Gourmet tours and food-wine pairing experiences are possible, which combine visits to some of the 20-odd local vineyards; expect to sip wines alongside beers from the region’s craft breweries and munch on platters of world-class cheeses. Or take a self-guided cycle amid the vines – the cellar doors around here are conveniently close to one another and easy to reach by pedal.

16 Best Places to Travel in April

Written by Anietra Hamper Updated Feb 10, 2023

Author Anietra Hamper travels year-round and knows the best months to experience destinations, whether you are looking to save a little money or visit when all the attractions are in full swing.

April is a month of new beginnings (hello, budding blooms), revitalization (we missed your energy, sunshine), and awesome deals on vacations. Whether you're hoping to visit Europe , the Caribbean , or as far away as Indonesia, there are a ton of incredible places to visit in April.

Cherry blossoms in April at Heian Shrine, Kyoto, Japan

A bonus: April is considered the shoulder season in many tropical destinations , which means travelers can enjoy cheap hotel rates and comfortable temperatures before the influx of summer crowds and stifling summer heat set in.

For the winter warriors who are not ready to let go of the snowy season, places like Lake Tahoe still have skiing for end-of-the-season runs. Whether you want to tackle some hiking in the Rocky Mountains or witness the breathtaking cherry blossoms in peak bloom in Japan, April is a great time to travel.

Plan your trip with our list of the best places to travel in April.

1. Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

2. moab, utah, 3. london, england, 4. venice, italy, 5. yangzhou, china, 6. amsterdam, netherlands, 7. lake tahoe, california, 8. kyoto, japan, 9. cayman islands, 10. newport beach, california, 11. sydney, australia, 12. bali, indonesia, 13. denver, colorado, 14. washington d.c., 15. athens, greece, 16. agra, india.

Puerto Vallarta

The month of April is an ideal window to visit Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, when the weather is comfortable, and rates for hotel rooms are more affordable . This month rests between the high season in the winter and the rush of summer tourists, when hotel and airfare rates skyrocket.

Temperatures are pleasant and rain is almost non-existent in April, meaning more days for enjoying the beautiful beaches and better opportunities to stroll the street markets to find souvenirs or taste some culinary dishes beachside. There is no shortage of things to do in Puerto Vallarta .

You will enjoy your time exploring the historic sites, like the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe during the day and walking along the Boardwalk Malecon to soak in the views of the ocean in the evenings, where you can catch a free dance performance at the amphitheater.

Arches National Park

If a visit to the red rock canyons of Moab, Utah is on your bucket list, then planning a trip in April is a great time of year to do it.

Early spring is a perfect time for hiking in Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park , when the weather is cooler and the summer tourists are still a few months away. The climate is perfect for outdoor activities like mountain biking or taking the three-mile trek to capture the iconic image of the Delicate Arch and see this national treasure up close.

Many people travel to Moab for the incredible hiking and unforgettable canyon views but there are so many other things to do in Moab , from biking and horseback riding to taking a four-wheeler trek through the national parks. April is also a good month for camping around Moab .

You will want to plan ahead when making reservations and add enough days to your stay to get in everything that you want to do, especially if you plan to do a lot of hiking.

Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament

London is almost always a hot spot for tourists year-round, but April will enable you to enjoy the sights before the summer rush kicks in for domestic and international vacationers. Some attractions require booking tickets for specific days and time slots or may not be open certain days of the week, so you will want to plan ahead if there are specific places on your must-see list.

Another upside to visiting in April is that the weather is more comfortable, especially for walking around the streets of London.

Accommodations in central London stay at a premium most of the year, but you can likely find a break on lodging by staying just outside the city and taking the train.

Kew Gardens is unmissable at this time of year, and you'll want to carve out some time to wander through other London parks and gardens , like Hyde , Regent , and Richmond Parks , when flowers are coming into bloom.

April is a great time to take advantage of the best scenery, from the top London attractions like the Tower of London and the beauty surrounding Buckingham Palace and Kensington Gardens .

Gondola in Venice

April is a great month to visit the historic Italian city of Venice. The weather is comfortable, with spring temperatures starting to emerge and less humidity than in the summer months. You'll be able to enjoy dining on your homemade pasta al fresco, as long as you pack a sweater, that is.

As for tourists, the boom does not start for several months, so you will still have plenty of elbow room to enjoy local attractions and gondola rides along the Grand Canal. Take advantage of fewer crowds as you explore St. Mark's Square and St. Mark's Basilica .

April is a beautiful time to see Venice, and hotel rates are still at a lower level than in the busy summer tourist season.

The Lotus Bridge in Yangzhou

Yangzhou is one of the best places to travel in April. The reason is made clear as soon as you catch sight of its stunning flowers and rare and ancient bonsai trees. During April, everything in Yangzhou blossoms into an Instagram-worthy glory.

One of the best places to visit in China , Yangzhou lies in the Jiangsu Province , which borders the Yangtze River . The city is known for its gardens, like the Ge Garden and the elaborate floral displays on offer at Slender West Lake . There are also more than 200, centuries-old miniature private gardens located throughout the ancient city.

Beyond the colorful variety of flowers throughout the city and in the public gardens, Yangzhou is known for its history of producing scholars, poets, artists, and famous geishas. You can find outdoor evening performances among the gardens at Slender West Lake and enjoy a cultural experience detailing the city's history through music, dance, and poetry.

Tulips along a canal in Amsterdam

By April, winter's icy chill has left Amsterdam, making it a more enjoyable time to wander around the Dutch city's iconic canals and interesting neighborhoods. While you may run into a spot of rain, Amsterdam's impressive museums, like the Ann Frank House , Van Gogh Museum , and Rijksmuseum , are the perfect places to take cover.

Temperatures hover in the high 50s Fahrenheit but can jump, so layers are your best bet. Aim to be here for King's Day on April 27 th if you want to see the city decked out in all its orange glory. Decorated boats pack the canals, live music is pumped through the streets, a city-wide market opens, and plenty of delicious treats are on offer.

Wander through colorful Jordaan , enjoying its unique markets, boutique shopping, and tasty restaurants before boarding a boat cruise. The NEMO Science Museum is especially worthy of a visit, if only to gaze at the creative contemporary design.

Lake Tahoe

If you have a hard time letting go of winter and want to push your skiing opportunities out as long as possible, an April trip to Lake Tahoe is in order. This recreational area in the Sierra Nevada Mountains sits on the state line between California and Nevada , where the snowcapped mountains enable skiing to last later than most ski resorts in the United States .

The hard-core snow bunnies can take advantage of the cool daytime temperatures to log a few more runs on the slopes. The other advantages of visiting Lake Tahoe in April are the smaller crowds and lower prices as the ski season comes to an end. You may also find cheaper prices at luxury resorts around Lake Tahoe.

There are many Lake Tahoe ski areas and resorts to choose from, and a few have even remained open until June in some years.

Japanese woman under the cherry blossoms in Kyoto

The top reason to travel to Kyoto, Japan in April can be summed up in two words: cherry blossoms . Kyoto cherry blossoms begin in mid to late March and peak in April, when the blooms are spectacular and the city fills with an unforgettable fragrance.

Much attention is paid to forecasting peak viewing times each year, so locals and visitors can have the best experience with the cherry blossoms accenting the ancient architecture, tea houses, pagodas, and gardens.

Given the beauty of Kyoto at this time of year, it is no surprise that it is a popular time for tourists, so you will want to book hotel rooms at least four to six months in advance. Prepare yourself for a hefty bill — this is definitely not one of the cheapest places to visit in April .

Kyoto is also the hub of Japanese culture. While here, make your way to visit the famous Ryoanji Temple rock garden, antiques stores in Gion , and peruse the 100 vendor stalls at the Nishiki Market .

Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands

While the Cayman Islands are a popular winter destination for people who want to get away from cold weather, April is an ideal month for those who want to visit and avoid the crowds of snowbirds or incoming summer vacationers.

April sits on the shoulder season, with lots of benefits, including better deals on resorts, more availability on tours and excursions, and fewer people in general.

Temperatures do not change much throughout the year in the Cayman Islands, hovering around the 80s during the day, but the April bonus means that you can visit on the tail end of the dry season and have fewer rain showers overall.

Great weather means more time for the beach and some of the top tourist attractions , like Stingray City and the Cayman Turtle Centre. If you plan to stay on Grand Cayman, be sure to book a boat trip to visit Little Cayman and Cayman Brac during your visit.

Newport Beach Pier at sunset

The area of Newport Beach, California is beautiful anytime of the year, but if you want to catch the gray whale migration , April is an ideal time to visit.

With so many dolphin and whale excursions available from Newport Landing, it is best to visit this area in the spring for the optimal viewing opportunities and before the summer crowds arrive.

There are many beaches to enjoy and boutique shops in the town. You can also enjoy the Balboa Fun Zone , which opened in 1936 and still has the wholesome, old-fashioned amusement park thrills, like a Ferris wheel and midway games.

Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge at dusk

Sydney in April is nice because it is the fall season, which means cooler temperatures and fading summer crowds. You can also take advantage of declining hotel rates and airfares during this short fall window.

Since there are fewer tourists flocking to the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour , you will have more time (and space) to enjoy some of the most popular Sydney attractions . You will also have more room to enjoy Hyde Park , an inner city park, and the Royal Botanic Garden .

Even though temperatures are cooling off heading into the Australian winter, you can still enjoy comfortable weather at Sydney's famous beaches like Manly Beach , Bondi Beach , and Coogee Beach .

Rice fields in Bali

The tropical paradise of Bali is one of the most spectacular places to visit in Indonesia , and April is one of the best times to go. April marks the start of Bali's dry season , which usually lasts through October, so it is a great time to experience the beaches and all the other things to do around the island.

The beautiful weather in April will also make it easy to visit some of Bali's temples, like the Uluwatu Temple and Tanah Lot Temple .

Nusa Dua will be bustling by April, and it is where you will find many high-end hotels and resorts. You can book one of the luxury water villas to relax in, so you do not even have to walk to the beach.

Be advised that since April begins a popular time for tourists heading to Bali, you will be paying a premium for accommodations and airfare and you will want to book far in advance.

Head to Ubud if you want a quieter rainforest retreat. While you're there, be sure to check out the spectacular Ubud Monkey Forest , but keep all food and water well hidden, as the clever little monkeys can open backpacks.

Downtown Denver

April is one of the best months of the year to visit Denver because the shoulder season has mild temperatures, and the rush of tourists do not arrive until after May. The outdoor scene in the city starts to come alive in April with bustling activity along the 16 th Street Mall and Larimer Square .

Just outside of downtown, you can rejuvenate with a drive along the Mount Evans Scenic Byway or an outdoor concert at the unforgettable Red Rocks Amphitheatre .

You can find low hotel rates, but they will begin to rise by the end of the month. Denver is a major airport hub with plenty of flights available, so if you plan ahead, you can keep an eye out for discounted airfare alerts.

Cherry blossoms and the Jefferson Memorial in Washington D.C.

If you are lucky enough to visit the United States capital of Washington D.C. in April, you may catch a glimpse of the cherry blossoms in bloom along the Potomac River and enjoy the annual parade that accompanies this springtime celebration. Washington's parks are beautiful this time of year.

Temperatures can be cool, but comfortable for walking around the grounds of the U.S. Capitol Buildings and along the Smithsonian Mall and museums.

Since so many of the museums and monuments are free in Washington D.C., you can get away with an affordable vacation this time of year . Due to D.C.'s popularity, you can also find hotel and airfare deals that will keep your costs down.

There are many tours available to the White House and other attractions , but sometimes Washington D.C. is best explored on your own at a leisurely pace.

The Parthenon

There's hardly a bad time to visit Athens, Greece, but there are a few reasons why April is a great month to go. Topping the list is the fact that the peak tourist season doesn't hit until summer, when visiting the Acropolis and Ancient Agora are almost too crowded to enjoy. An April Greece vacation will mean fewer tourists and more availability on popular tours.

The spring temperatures in April are another reason to visit, when cool evenings and mild days make touring outside comfortable. Take a jacket for dinners on the coast where it can be breezy.

You will also find decent deals on hotels and airfare to Athens in April before the summer push for reservations.

Taj Mahal, Agra, India

Do yourself a favor and add Agra to your list of places to travel in April. While the days are hot (you can expect temps in the mid to high 90s) and humid, April offers visitors a ton of bright sunshine, cheap prices , little to no rain, and few tourists.

You can't visit Agra without a trip to the iconic Taj Mahal , the city's most famous landmark. While you're here, carve out some extra time to explore the nearby Agra Fort , Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah , and the captivating Mehtab Bagh park.

Be sure you have enough water when wandering around this remarkable city in Uttar Pradesh, and stop in at the numerous restaurants to enjoy a cool respite from the sometimes oppressive heat.

May's temperatures skyrocket, making it an almost unbearable time to visit. April is technically the beginning of India's summer, which means it only gets hotter through July. Monsoon season begins then and runs through September, so it's best to avoid the area at that time.

The 10 best places to travel in April

hot travel destinations april

Many of the best places to travel in April are in the US, making for some cheap and convenient getaways.

The most exciting event happening this April is the total solar eclipse . There’s nowhere better to see it than the US east coast. Across the rest of the country, April is alive with music festivals , nowhere more so than the legendary Coachella.

Further afield, food, comedy, and nationwide water fights dominate the calendar, from Brittany to Bangkok. Here are my favorite places to visit in April in the US and abroad.

A lush garden of neatly trimmed trees in the centre of a city square surrounded by classical buildings and a neo-Gothic 17th-century church.

The 10 best April destinations

  • New York State
  • Islamorada, Florida
  • Dallas, Texas
  • Nashville, Tennessee
  • Coachella, California
  • Paimpol, France
  • Melbourne, Australia
  • Bangkok, Thailand
  • San Miguel de Allende, Mexico
  • The Nile, Egypt

Best places to travel in April in the US

Spring festivals, music, art, and the magic of longer, warmer days—not to mention a total solar eclipse. The best places to visit in April in the US are spread coast to coast, top to bottom and there’s something for everyone.

1. New York State

The jaw-dropping spectacular Horseshoe Falls cascade into the cliffs with a red tourist boat traversing the gushing river.

  • Why visit in April? See the total solar eclipse in all its cosmic glory.

The State of New York is going all out to celebrate the total solar eclipse , happening on April 8th. Partnering with NASA, it will host a series of free state-wide events along the 124-mile path of the totality. Expect a festival atmosphere at locations like the Adirondack Sky Center and Observatory and Rochester Museum and Science Center .

There are many epic viewing sites to choose from. In the southwest, make it one to remember amid the lakes, mountains and vineyards of Chautauqua-Allegheny . The clean air and clear skies of Finger Lakes and the mighty Adirondacks also offer front-row seats amid majestic surroundings.

My choice will be Niagara Falls , which will see the eclipse start at 2:04 pm. Full totality will start at 3:18 pm and last for three minutes and 31 seconds of spooky magic. Finishing at 4:31 pm, you’ll have to wait 20 years for the next one. It will make quite the backdrop for this extraordinary celestial event .

2. Islamorada, Florida

A beach resort with oddly-shaped swimming pools facing a white beach with piers across the sea.

  • Why visit in April? Three words: Key Lime Pie.

A midpoint on the string of the Florida Keys, seven square miles and six islands make up the curio of Islamorada. For less-informed travelers, this village is little more than a stop-off en route to the mania of Key West . Stop and look around though and you’ll discover there’s much more to it than the Overseas Highway.

Nature lovers can dip a toe or entire body in at Alligator Reef and snorkel with an unfathomable variety of fish. If you prefer your fish on a line, you’ll find some of the world’s best deep-sea fishing right offshore. On land, Lignumvitae Key Botanical State Park is a tropical island forest of extraordinary hardwood hammock trees.

From high-end Caribbean Pierre’s to perhaps the nation’s best Key Lime Pie at Blonde Giraffe , food options are plentiful. As you’re in the Conch Republic, dinner really should be conch chowder or fritters. Few do it better than Lorelei , with gorgeous waterfront views to aid digestion.

3. Dallas, Texas

The skyline of a modern metropolis is characterized by classic buildings and towering skyscrapers set against a picturesque cloudy sky.

  • Why visit in April? To get your art on.

April is Art Month in Dallas. The city goes mad for all things cultural with a focus on the cultural diversity of its local artists. Hundreds of fairs, events, exhibitions, and performances transform the Downtown Arts District into a canvas of festivals.

Getting things started is the Dallas Art Fair from April 4th to 7th . Held at the Fashion Industry Gallery, it’s a showcase of modern and contemporary exhibitions. The free Dallas Arts District Block Party is a family-friendly carnival with performers, musicians, and street theater. Keep the arts theme going at the Crow Museum of Asian Art and Nasher Sculpture Center , with free entry on Saturday 6th.

Rounding the month off into May is the Dallas International Film Festival , kicking off on April 26th. Spread across the city’s many historic cinemas, it holds awards and screenings from over 60 countries.

4. Nashville, Tennessee

  • Why visit in April? Immerse yourself in music at Tin Pan South.

Home of country music, Nashville dances to its own beat year-round. Spend your days at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and pay tribute to the Man in Black at the Johnny Cash Museum . As the sun sets, tour the honky tonks of Robert’s Western World and Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge. Round things off in style at the beating heart of country music, Grand Ole Opry .

Alongside the mainstays, April brings the 32nd Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival. From the 2nd to the 6th, the world’s greatest songwriters flock to Nashville in the biggest gathering of its kind. Fabulous nightly concerts at iconic venues across the city, from the Commodore Grille to The Vinyl Lounge.

In case that’s not enough music for you, make for the historic RCA Studio B. Birthplace of the ‘Nashville Sound’, Elvis Presley recorded more than 150 tracks here.

5. Coachella, California

Two pals hugging each other in a crowded area.

  • Why visit in April? Dance in the desert at Coachella Festival.

Continuing the music theme, the eyes and ears of the world will be on Coachella in April. Over two weekends of the 12th-14th and 19th-21st the Colorado Desert will throb to an eclectic mix of headline acts. In 2023, Bad Bunny, Blink-182, and Blackpink led the foray—2024 is sure to follow suit with the world’s biggest bands and artists.

Very much the place to see and be seen in April, expect huge crowds, high glamor, and even higher prices. For the complete experience, stay at Ace Hotel and Swim Club in Palm Springs , famed for its Coachella pool parties.

Spend your downtime exploring this hipster city’s gorgeous retro-chic architecture and rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous. And when it all gets too much, escape into the wilds of Joshua Tree National Park to find yourself again. See you in the desert!

Best places to travel in April in the rest of the world

Across the rest of the world, April is the best month of the year to visit so many countries, from Australia to Egypt. Warm (but not too hot) weather, crazy celebrations, food festivals, and more make it a magic month to travel.

6. Paimpol, France

View of a port with sailing boats in a sunny day

  • Why visit in April? Gorge on seafood at La Fête de la Coquille Saint-Jacques.

Seafood lovers will flock to France’s picturesque northwest coast in April for a celebration of all things scallop. The communes of Saint-Quay-Portrieux, Erquy and Paimpol around the Bay of Saint-Brieuc are known as the scallop capital of Brittany . And with good reason—offshore lie huge scallop banks served by a flotilla of 238 trawlers.

On the weekend of April 20th and 21st, La Fête de la Coquille Saint-Jacques will take place this year in Paimpol. (Coquille Saint-Jacques being the poetic French name for a scallop.) It kicks off on Saturday morning when the Knights of the Scallop parade through Paimpol’s streets and port. From then on it’s an eatathon of sublime scallop menus washed down with bottomless fine wines—this is France, after all.

Expect the typical festival stalwarts: live music and street entertainment. More interestingly, take a boat to watch the fishermen at work, join a tasting event, and pick up some scallop-shaped jewelry as a memento.

You’ll need to fly into nearby Dinard by Saint-Malo and rent a car to get to Paimpol.

7. Melbourne, Australia

  • Why visit in April? To laugh until it hurts.

April is early fall in Melbourne , when the days are bright but the sun doesn’t swelter. It’s my favorite time to visit. While March is the main events month, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival keeps visitors laughing until April 21st. Held in tens of venues across the city, there’s something for every funny bone from family-friendly to adults only.

There’s no better way to recover from a late night of comedy than to head outdoors. Kickstart your day with a cup of black gold. Melbourne is the coffee capital of Australia and few places roast a better brew than Monk Bodhi Dharma in St Kilda. Sip while you stroll the charming palm-fringed St Kilda Foreshore, reminiscent of Venice Beach with its counter-culture vibe.

For a little more exertion, hop on the metro rail to Lilydale. Rent a bike and cycle the scenic 30-mile loop of the Warburton Rail Trail . Traversing the lovely Yarra River Valley , it passes local villages and bucolic landscapes against a backdrop of the mountainous Yarra Ranges National Park .

8. Bangkok, Thailand

  • Why visit in April? Songkran: the wettest, most fun New Year celebration on earth.

Manic, unfettered, futuristic, ancient, and overwhelming—there are many reasons why Bangkok is one of my favorite metropolises. In April, Thailand’s pulsing capital cranks things up with its unrivaled Songkran New Year celebrations.

Songkran, the water festival, starts on April 13th annually. In 2024 the Thai government has gone wild and instead declared it a month-long festival. In smaller communities, the festival maintains its religious and familial routes. But in Bangkok it’s dominated by three days of drink-fueled, super-soaked mayhem flooding the city streets. It’s a cliche, but the biggest and best water fight is on Khao San Road , the infamous backpacker strip.

Don your bathing costume and flip-flops and arm yourself with your watering-squirting weapon of choice. Be warned: there’s no way to avoid a soaking. On my last visit, I watched a local unload a giant Super-Soaker over a group of unsuspecting police officers. Their response? To dunk him into a huge barrel of ice water.

9. San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

A cobblestone street adorned with a vibrant array of colourful buildings.

  • Why visit in April? The perfect light.

As the dry season comes to an end, most visitors make for Mexico’s Riviera Maya and the likes of Tulum . Inland though, there are plenty of equally historic towns and cities to explore. And in April, San Miguel de Allende basks in its UNESCO World Heritage status.

April 2024 starts on Easter Monday with the end of the Semana Santa Easter Processions, Mexico’s most sacred festival. As the celebrations end and the crowds thin, the city’s immaculate colonial architecture shines in beatific light.

Romantic and ancient, there’s an embarrassment of extraordinary sites to explore. The wedding cake towers of Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel ; the nearby Santuario de Atotonilco , Mexico’s Sistine Chapel and an icon for independence.

Perfectly intermixed with all this history, you’ll find a cosmopolitan side to San Miguel de Allende, rare in such towns. Catch rooftop sundowners at La Azotea , fine dine at Áperi, and round out your night with the mezcal menu at La Mezcalería .

10. The Nile, Egypt

Two sailboats traverse the river, passing by the docked boats along the banks.

  • Why visit in April? Last chance to cruise the Luxor.

Follow in the wake of Agatha Christie, minus the murder of course, with a cruise down the Nile in April. With spring in full bloom, long sunny days and balmy evenings on deck are guaranteed. There’s no better time to drift its currents and watch local life unfold against some of the world’s most historic backdrops.

Choose your vessel wisely – sailboats and paddle steamers are most common. A traditional felucca wooden sailboat is a serene, sustainable, and ridiculously romantic way to travel. Your route is via Luxor and the Valley of the Kings, and on to Aswan over five magical days. April is the last chance before the season changes and the mercury rises to uncomfortable levels.

Desert in Oman

Wasn't as cold in Europe in April as in winter, but if you want it to be really warm, you still have to travel a little further. Package holidays to Asia are relatively popular in April.

In addition to the warm United Arab Emirates all year round, Oman also offers the opportunity to spend very warm and dry holidays. Depending on the region, the average day temperatures here are between 30 °C and 35 °C , so that it is already extremely hot here. If you don't mind, you will find perfect conditions for a sunny holiday in Oman.

This April will also be very warm in Thailand. Most parts of the country also have average day temperatures between 30 °C and 35 °C with moderate precipitation compared to the summer months. If you don't mind the heat, you will find a perfect, hot destination in Thailand (e.g. Phuket) in April.

Other hot destinations in Asia are Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. In Laos and Cambodia the daytime temperatures are around 35 °C , in Vietnam there are also regions that are somewhat less warm at 25 °C - 30 °C daytime temperature. In all three countries, April marks the end of the dry season, so take the last opportunity to visit these countries.

Dream Island Bali

In Indonesia you will find the best conditions for your holiday in Bali in April. Average day temperatures of just over 30 °C , water temperatures of just under 30 °C and the beginning of the dry season invite you to swim in Bali.

It is significantly cooler in Turkey, which is also closer to home. The bathing resorts of the Turkish Riviera (e.g. Belek, Side, Antalya) achieve average day temperatures of 20 °C .

At 17 °C , the water is still too cold for longer bathing, but is at least suitable for short refreshments. The same applies to the popular coastal town of Marmaris in the Turkish Aegean.

Where to travel in Africa?

Bathing holiday in Egypt in April

There are some very interesting holiday destinations in Africa for April. A very popular destination is Egypt, where you will find good holiday conditions in spring. In Hurghada, for example, the average daytime temperatures are just under 30 °C , and the water is also pleasantly warm at 23 °C and ideal for bathing.

Almost 11 hours of sunshine per day and almost no precipitation attract numerous tourists to the largest Egyptian tourist centre on the Red Sea.

In Morocco it is not quite as warm with average daytime temperatures between 19 °C and 25 °C and water temperatures of around 17 °C . A similar climate prevails in Tunisia, also on Djerba the best travel season has not yet begun in April.

Further south it gets much warmer, in Senegal for example day temperatures of 40 °C on average are possible (kaolac). But there are also much more pleasant regions here, in Dakar the average daytime temperature is 25 °C and the water has also reached over 20 °C .

In Central Africa it is the rainy season in April in many countries, so we have to go a little further south to find more good holiday destinations. We find good weather for our holidays e.g. in Malawi, where the average daytime temperatures are over 25 °C with very little rainfall. Those who want to spend a beach holiday at the sea will find paradisiacal conditions in Mozambique with about 30 °C a day and water temperatures of 25 °C - 30 °C . Both destinations are also well suited for combinations with safari experiences.

The best time to travel is also in Madagascar in April. The rainy season is now over and the day temperatures are between 25 °C and above 30 °C , depending on the region. Also the water has almost 30 °C and is therefore cosy and warm. Depending on the region, one enjoys an average of 8 - 10 hours of sunshine per day.

South Africa can also be a good choice for an April vacation. In Cape Town the average day temperatures are 23 °C , the water is still a bit cool for a longer bath at 18 °C , but it is certainly suitable for a short cooling down.

In Durban it is a little warmer, the day temperatures are above 25 °C and the water also has a pleasant bathing temperature of 23 °C . In the Kruger National Park now slowly the dry season begins.

By the way, the islands of the Seychelles with water temperatures of almost 30 °C in April are also good to visit all year round. Although heavy rain showers are to be expected, on average 7 - 8 hours of sunshine per day are still reached on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue.

Destinations in America

In the South American autumn there are still some nice warm holiday destinations. In Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, the daytime temperatures are at a pleasant 22 °C and the water at 19 °C is barely suitable for swimming. In Brazil, southern regions such as Porto Allegre are highly recommended in April. April is the period with the lowest rainfall and both water and day temperatures are around 25 °C .

Machu Picchu in Peru

Good climatic conditions also await you in Peru, where it is still very pleasant in the capital Lima at day temperatures of 25 °C and water temperatures of 20 °C for a bathing holiday. For the more northern countries: optimal travel weather on the Caribbean coast of Colombia and Venezuela with day temperatures of over 30 °C , little precipitation and warm water.

Similar temperatures are found in Guyana and Suriname, where more precipitation is to be expected. It is very wet in French Guyana, which is not suitable for holidays in April.

In Panama, April marks the end of the dry season and is therefore a recommended month for travel. It is hot and dry in Nicaragua, as it is in Honduras. It is also warm and dry in El Salvador. Average daytime temperatures below 30 °C are expected in Guatemala and Belize, which also makes these destinations good destinations in April due to low rainfall.

April is certainly the best travel season in Mexico as well, it is quite dry in most parts of the country and the average day temperatures are between 25 °C and 35 °C , depending on the region. Especially the tourist strongholds on the Riviera Maya like Cancun attract with paradisiacal bathing weather.

A little more at operating temperature in April will also come the United States of America. In Florida, the month is absolutely the best travel time: average day temperatures up to 30 °C , water temperatures up to 26 °C and lots of sunshine (up to 11 hours a day on the Florida Keys) make the state a perfect destination for a summer beach holiday.

However, other regions of the USA are now also becoming particularly important. For example, how about a trip to America's gamblers' paradise, Las Vegas? In the summer months it gets extremely hot there, but in April the daytime temperatures of 25 °C are exactly right.

It's dry in the desert all year anyway. Also the nearby Grand Canyon invites to a sightseeing tour in similar conditions.

17 Warm States in April You Should Visit

1. baton rouge, louisiana.

looking up at the stained glass ceiling of the Capitol Building in Baton Rouge

“You’ll be surprised by how warm — or cool — Baton Rouge is in April.

“Baton Rouge’s oldest neighborhood, historic Spanish Town, is a must-visit. This community has been around longer than the French and English, leaving its mark with pink flamingos and its own Mardi Gras parade. Nearby is the stunning Louisiana State Capitol, with the tallest tower in the United States and a round-about porch on top for a beautiful view of the city and river. Home to a spectacular sprawling live oak tree, the Old State Capitol is a beautiful National Historic Landmark with a free museum. Just keep in mind that it’s closed on Mondays.

“Two plantations, Magnolia Mound Plantation and LSU Rural Life Museum, are well worth a visit. The best part is their presentation of the true story of enslaved people’s experiences in each building. The city has lots of trees, lakes, and scenic running trails, including a few through the LSU campus grounds.” — Ann Bush

“If you’re yearning for an easy-to-access island with year-round temperate weather, look no further than Catalina . April might just be the best time to visit with temperatures that are warm but not hot, setting the scene to enjoy a wide array of outdoor adventures.

“Most visitors depart from Los Angeles or Orange Counties aboard the Catalina Express and arrive 60 to 90 minutes later in the small town of Avalon. Spend time browsing the boutique shops, relax on the beach, or hop on a submarine for an underwater tour of Lover’s Cove.

“If you’re feeling more adventurous, head out to explore Catalina’s wild side. Protected by the Catalina Island Conservancy , 88 percent of the island is undeveloped. Take a 3-hour Eco Tour to learn all about the wildlife on the island and keep your eyes open for bison and island fox. Or hike along the Trans Catalina Trail with Catalina Backcountry.

“While most visitors just spend the day in Catalina, it is really worth an overnight stay. After all the day trippers return home, the island is even more peaceful at night. Grab dinner at one of the waterfront restaurants like Bluewater Avalon and watch the sun set over the harbor.” — Wendy Lee

3. Galveston, Texas

Galveston, Texas - March 3, 2023: Tall Ship Elissa at Pier 21

“A majestic fleet of tall sailing ships returns to Galveston April 13–16. Tall Ships® is a fascinating festival featuring family-friendly fun, food, special events, live music, and sailing excursions.

“Rescued from a Greek shipyard and restored, Galveston’s 1877 Elissa is a floating museum that actively sails, welcoming over 40,000 visitors yearly. This National Historic Landmark serves as the official tall ship of Texas.

“Stay at the Grand Galvez hotel and spa, the Queen of the Gulf since 1911, and enjoy fresh Gulf Coast seafood at its Galvez Bar & Grill, plus Sunday brunch. Eat fresh seafood at the historic Gaido’s or any local eateries in the Strand Historic District, including the Black Pearl Oyster Bar or Rudy & Paco Restaurant and Bar.” — Janie H. Pace

4. Gulf Shores, Alabama

“With average highs in the mid-70s and lows in the upper 50s, April weather in Gulf Shores , Alabama, can’t be beaten. Sugar-white sandy beaches and the crystal-clear turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico make for a relaxing day of doing nothing. Of course, if you somehow tire of lying on the beach there’s great shopping, excellent seafood, and a myriad of spectacular golf courses at your disposal.

“I recommend taking a cruise with Wild Hearts on their 53-foot catamaran. There are plenty of sailing adventures to choose from, but my favorite is the Dolphins & Angels, available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the spring. On this incredible tour, you’ll witness breathtaking aerial displays performed by the Blue Angels, the U.S. Navy’s precision flying team, during their practice session.” — Tami Brooks

5. Hilton Head, South Carolina

overcast Daufuski Island beach

“ Hilton Head is a stunning vacation destination island with Atlantic Ocean views. Best known as a golfing destination , Hilton Head also has beautiful beaches and excellent restaurants.

“The average high in April is 76 degrees, perfect for getting in a round of golf with your besties. I love visiting the iconic Harbour Town Lighthouse and Museum on the southwest coast. Book a tee time at Sea Pines Resort’s spectacular Harbour Town Golf Links and try to play 18 holes like the pros.

“Take time off the links and score a dayboat ride out to Daufuskie Island . Rent a golf cart and explore the island’s peaceful Lowcountry vibe. Daufuskie was a haven for emancipated slaves who lived in isolation for generations, resulting in the area’s unique African/Creole Gullah culture.

“Hudson’s Seafood House on the Docks is hands down the best place to eat. I’m a big fan of small plates and they offer lots of options. I love their oysters Rockefeller, Maryland-style crab cake, and the local fried green tomatoes. It offers a coastal casual vibe with perfectly crafted cuisine.” — Sandi Barrett

Hunstville aspires to be a Music City and various venues ensure that the North Alabama city’s musical aspirations take flight. Don’t limit your preferences to the Von Braun Center’s venues or The Orion Amphitheater. Try these quirky venues, too:

  • Have a Huntsville music experience at Lowe Mill, a former 190,000-square-foot textile mill now repurposed into an arts and entertainment district. With 152 studios, seven galleries, and four venues, something is always happening.
  • Find a unique instrument at The Cigar Box Guitar Store . Luthier Jeff Mello also creates guitars from other recycled materials like lunchboxes and baseball bats. Learn how to play the instrument on Saturdays. Other classes teach cigar box guitar building. Check out all of the cool classes at Lowe Mill in April.
  • Traditional guitars and mandolins are in Tangled Strings Studios’ province. Tangled Strings continues the musical lifecycle in its 105-seat live performance venue.

“Beyond the music, every form of art, including culinary art, lives at Lowe Mill. Try an In-Fidel pizza at the Happy Tummy. It’s a Cuban sandwich turned pizza. The restaurant’s smiling stomach logo makes it a winner before your first bite.” — Roxie Yonkey

“No words can describe the beauty of Hawaii’s tropical landscape. It is beyond anything you see in photos; it surpasses stunning. April is a great month to go to Maui , the state’s second most visited island. The average high is 73 degrees, the winter rains have passed, and the large winter waves have calmed.

“Golf at the Ka’anapali Golf Courses in Lahaina promises views you only see on the Golf Channel, and if you love a challenging game, it definitely belongs on your bucket list.

“The courses are just a short walk from some of Lahaina’s best resorts. Stay at Marriott’s Maui Ocean Club – Molokai, Maui & Lanai Towers . One of my favorite amenities during my stay was a massage in a beachside cabana — dreamy.” — Sandi Barrett

8. Las Vegas, Nevada

The Landscape At Valley Of Fire State Park In Las Vegas

“ Las Vegas is a fun destination any time of year, but April is one of the best times to visit. The weather is perfect, spring break is usually over, and things seem less busy. We aren’t big gamblers, but we still like to visit Vegas for all the other things to do. High on our list are the nearby parks.

“ Valley of Fire State Park is so gorgeous it could pass for a national park, and Red Rock Canyon has excellent hiking trails. Both are less than an hour from The Strip. Speaking of The Strip, I like the vibe downtown better. The casinos are much closer together, so you’re not walking miles to get from one to another, and the minimum bets are less. Then you can Uber to The Strip and check out some celebrity chef restaurants, catch a show, and head back downtown for the night. The Fremont Street Experience downtown is a good time and you can’t beat the people watching.” — SJ Morgensen

“Las Vegas is a great year-round destination, but April is perfect for 80-degree temps and a visit before the days hit over 100. Flying into Las Vegas makes the most sense, but if you are close enough to drive in, I would absolutely add on a visit to Valley of Fire State Park (the oldest in Nevada and second most visited in the country) and the incredible Hoover Dam. Living in nearby Mesquite, I go weekly. I recommend getting off The Strip for fabulous museums and attractions, such as The Mob Museum, Fremont Street Experience, Ethel M Chocolate Factory, and Container Park.

“Stay at Circa Resort for a stellar rooftop pool offering or one of the Station hotel options for the best prices. Dine at Nacho Daddy , Cornish Pasty Co., or Chicago Joe’s. For a splurge, go to Dig This Vegas to operate heavy machinery in the nation’s first heavy equipment playground.” — Melody Pittman

“Farther out, you can play one of the famous golf courses, pamper yourself at a spa, hiking trails and canyons , visit the zoo or a garden, take in a play or concert, or ride the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway to the top of Mt. San Jacinto.

10. Roswell, New Mexico

“Best known for its alien and UFO incident, Roswell is an exciting city. Crowds are thick during the summer when temperatures are in the 90s, so April is an optimal time to visit. My husband and I visited about this time last year and the sun’s intensity made the mid-to upper-70s weather feel much warmer.

“Stroll the historic downtown area and take an in-depth look at the iconic stories in the International UFO Museum and Research Center. Venture into the metaphysical, souvenir, and coffee shops. Dive deeper into the alien craze with Roswell UFO Tours and consider driving out to the alleged UFO crash site.

“Cowboy Cafe has an excellent breakfast with chicken fried bacon and gravy. For lunch, try La Gran Victoria’s tasty mole dishes. Sample wine at Pecos Flavors Winery & Bistro, and grab Dunkin’ Donuts from the shop with the little green man out front.” Melody Pittman

11. San Juan, Puerto Rico

“If you’re looking for warm weather in April, head to the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico and its capital city, San Juan .

“San Juan is known for its blue cobblestone streets and Spanish colonial forts, but there is more to explore in the city. Consider taking a food tour and learning about the island’s popular dishes . Or head to Casa BACARDÍ and learn about the history of rum and the island’s sugar cane plantations. Want to learn about Puerto Rican art? Head to the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico in Santurce and admire the talent of local artists.

“One of our favorite things to do in Old San Juan is simply wander the streets. Start at the fortresses, then walk to Catedral de San Juan Bautista, the oldest church in the U.S. From here, head to La Fortaleza (the governor’s mansion) and Parque de las Palomas to watch and feed the local pigeon population. Be sure to shop at the local stores and grab a paleta (fruit popsicle) if you need to cool down, or a café con leche if you need a pick-me-up.” — Kirsten Maxwell

“Enjoy sandy beaches, sunshine, and great weather in South Padre Island , Texas’s tropical paradise. With an average of 80 degrees during the day and 72 at night, this Texas Gulf Coast beach town is a much-desired vacation spot in April.

“Miles and miles of beaches offer plenty of public access. Swimming and scouring for seashells is half the fun, but building a sandcastle on the beach is a blast, too. You can even take a lesson on how to build a sandcastle from an expert. If you want to see dolphins, take a cruise out in the morning — as that’s the best time to see them. (Hopefully you’re a morning person!)

Reputed to be haunted, Athens Theatre offers live performances. If you’re into the paranormal, visit Cassadaga, the oldest active spiritualist camp in the country.

“For living history, you can’t beat Barberville. The pioneer settlement hosts a wonderful Spring Frolic festival in April with over 180 musicians playing and singing folk, Celtic, bluegrass, blues, country, and more. Another amazing event in April is the Cracker Day Rodeo.” — Kathleen Walls

14. Lakeland, Florida

“ Lakeland, Florida , is a tremendous multi-generational spring break getaway. High temperatures are typically in the low 80s, which is comfortable for outdoor activities.

“For the grandkids, the new Bonnet Springs Park is a fun place to discover the outdoors, but if it rains, you can take shelter in the nature center. The park’s brand-new Florida Children’s Museum is another rainy-day option. The kiddos will love the playground and have a chance to blow off some steam. The Butterfly House and Botanical Gardens are a few of my favorite areas to explore.

“Check into Margaritaville RV Resort and Cabana Cabins in nearby Auburndale. No RV? No problem. The cabins are a roomy option for the entire family. The cabins have a full kitchen, but there are two onsite restaurants and a couple of tiki bars if you’re not in the mood to cook.” — Amy Piper

Best places to visit in may 2024.

With its pleasantly warm weather and thinned crowds, May is the perfect time to take a trip before the expensive summer season. Considering sights, weather, traveler sentiment and annual events (among other factors), U.S. News rounded up the best places to visit in May. Whether you're looking for an outdoor adventure in a national park, a quick Memorial Day getaway or a leisurely beach vacation , you can't go wrong with these destinations. Vote for your favorite locales below to help determine next year's list.

Bryce Canyon National Park

Laguna beach, st. vincent & the grenadines, victoria & vancouver island, yellowstone national park.

hot travel destinations april

When May comes around in Bryce Canyon National Park, the snow is nearly gone, which means the park's main road and popular trails are likely to be open. Highs are typically in the 60s during the day, too – ideal conditions for hiking and biking this Utah park's paths. Visitor numbers start to ramp up this month, but it's still early enough in the season that you're unlikely to have to jostle for a view at the popular Bryce Point, which overlooks Bryce Amphitheater, a landscape of otherworldly rock spires (called hoodoos).

hot travel destinations april

This Portuguese island chain in the Atlantic Ocean offers a little bit of everything for active travelers, from geoparks and waterfall hikes to paragliding. Though the weather here is always a bit unpredictable, the chances of wind and rain are lower in May. The water temperature also begins to warm up for must-do activities like snorkeling or swimming with dolphins, and with fewer swells than the winter months, beginner surfers will feel more comfortable trying to hang ten. As an added bonus, the biggest festival in the Azores – the Feasts of Santo Cristo dos Milagres – typically occurs in May.

hot travel destinations april

Travelers looking for a vacation filled with unique and heart-pumping activities should set their sights on Cappadocia. This mountainous region in central Turkey is home to a UNESCO-listed national park, centuries-old underground cities, ancient cave dwellings, magnificent rock formations and more. Plus, thanks to average temperatures in the 60s and 70s in May, activities like soaring high above the Göreme Valley on a hot air balloon tour and driving a four-wheel-drive vehicle past fairy chimneys couldn't be more pleasant.

hot travel destinations april

As one of the warmest and driest times of year in Palawan, May welcomes travelers with open arms. Take advantage of the minimal rainfall by experiencing all of the outdoor activities and attractions that this Philippine island has to offer –spoiler alert, there are a lot. Spend time relaxing on Palawan's white sand beaches, island-hopping or even swimming with gentle whale sharks. Water sports are popular in this destination as well, from diving Tubbataha Reef to kayaking El Nido's Big Lagoon.

hot travel destinations april

Visiting Granada, Spain, in May is a no-brainer. Average temperatures in the mid-70s, blooming flower displays (at Generalife Gardens) and a full roster of events make this Andalusian city a must-visit in the spring. Día de la Cruz and Feria del Corpus Christi, two of the city's most popular celebrations, are both held in May, and travelers won't want to miss seeing Granada come alive with music, flamenco dancers and more. Save time during your trip for a guided tour of the Alhambra and strolling through the Albaicín neighborhood.

hot travel destinations april

May falls within this Peruvian city's winter season, though you probably wouldn't notice thanks to its consistently mild temperatures (highs hover in the 60s). This month rarely sees rain showers, and you'll encounter fewer tourists at archaeological wonders like La Catedral – which sits in the restaurant- and coffee shop-filled Plaza de Armas – and Machu Picchu – a bucket list destination and UNESCO World Heritage Site located about 50 miles northwest of Cusco. If you're up for a challenge, hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. This difficult trek through the area's towering mountains takes about four days to complete.

hot travel destinations april

With 33 beaches, this eastern Caribbean island is a sun worshipper's dream, and May temperatures in the upper 70s and 80s are perfect for basking on its white sands . Spend warm days venturing to offshore cays, exploring fishing villages and watching yacht races during the Anguilla Regatta, typically held every May. Since this is the start of the island's rainy season, the weather can be wetter and more humid than the winter months, but visitors will be rewarded with cheaper accommodations.

hot travel destinations april

May is a great time for a trip to this seaside Spanish city before the heat and humidity become unbearable. Can't-miss architectural marvels to check out include Antoni Gaudí's whimsical Park Güell and the Gothic-style Sagrada Família. Budget time for visiting some of Barcelona's highly regarded museums, such as the Picasso Museum, and relax at Barceloneta beach before stopping at a nearby seafood restaurant for some of the best paella in the city. What's more, the city plays host to a number of events come May, including film and music festivals

hot travel destinations april

Craggy coastline views, a world-famous aquarium and a superb farm-to-table dining scene draw tourists of all types to Monterey, California. Though temperatures here remain in the 60s for most of the year, rainfall drops significantly in May. Popular festivals also make this a great time of the year to visit. Come early in the month for the Pacific Grove Good Old Days Street Festival, which showcases local artisans and craft vendors, plus a variety of food booths. And near the end of the month, the three-day California Roots Music & Arts Festival celebrates reggae artists.

hot travel destinations april

Visit Laguna Beach for a perfect sunny-and-70, laid-back beach vacation. May is part of this Southern California town's spring shoulder season, so you'll find fewer people on popular stretches of sand like Main Beach and Crescent Bay Beach. Plus, the quieter month is ideal for relaxation-focused activities, such as outdoor yoga and hiking. When travelers need a break from reconnecting with themselves or nature, they can check out Laguna Beach's thriving art scene, which includes hundreds of galleries, studios and public works of art.

hot travel destinations april

Bright turquoise water, gorgeous white sand and lush green vegetation await vacationers in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Composed of 32 islands and cays, this Caribbean archipelago is perfect for a tropical getaway. May falls between the country's peak winter season and its hurricane-prone low season, making it an ideal time for scuba diving and snorkeling in the Tobago Cays Marine Park, swimming and soaking up some rays at Canouan's beaches and hiking to beautiful waterfalls like Dark View Falls. Travelers will also want to check out the country's 20-acre Botanical Gardens, the oldest available in the Western Hemisphere.

hot travel destinations april

Victoria, British Columbia's capital city, sits on the southern portion of Vancouver Island. Not only does this Canadian destination boast comfortable highs in the low 60s in May, it is just a short ferry ride from Seattle (less than three hours), making it perfect for a quick weekend getaway . Spend your visit strolling through the 55-acre Butchart Gardens, which are bursting with colorful tulips and cherry blossoms come May, then get out on the water on a whale watching tour. Before heading home, don't forget to shop for souvenirs along Government Street.

hot travel destinations april

Considered the birthplace of democracy and drama, Athens boasts a historical legacy that is hard to top. The main reason to visit is to see the ancient city's impressive ruins, which you'll find at the Acropolis and Ancient Agora. For an additional look at Athens' past, check out the incredible Greek artifacts on display at the National Archaeological Museum and the Benaki Museum of Greek Culture. May vacations are especially enjoyable thanks to comfortable daytime temps hovering in the mid-70s.

hot travel destinations april

By late May, most of Yellowstone's trails and must-see attractions are open, welcoming eager nature enthusiasts seeking a breath of fresh air. The average 50-degree temperatures provide a brisk but comfortable atmosphere for a hike on one of the Old Faithful area's trails or a kayaking excursion on Yellowstone Lake. For a glimpse of wildlife, head to Lamar Valley to view wolf pups emerging from their dens. Keep in mind that if you visit during Memorial Day weekend, you'll likely run into crowds.

hot travel destinations april

With warm weather year-round (average temperatures sit in the 80s), there's never a bad time to visit Singapore. But in May, this Asian city-state on the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula welcomes events such as the Singapore Cocktail Festival, the Singapore International Festival of Arts and the Singapore HeritageFest. When you're not enjoying your time at one of Singapore's cultural events, check out top attractions like Gardens by the Bay, a futuristic nature park that is home to the Supertree Observatory and the Cloud Forest.

Things To Do

Travel | a weekend guide in ouray, the country’s no. 1 vacation destination of 2024, men’s journal ranked ouray no. 1 out of 50 u.s. vacation destinations this year.

Ouray is a small mountain town, located five and a half hours outside of Denver, tucked in a valley and surrounded by the San Juan Mountain Range. (Photo by Lily O'Neill -- The Denver Post)

Editor’s note: This is part of The Know’s series,  Staff Favorites . Each week, we offer our opinions on the best that Colorado has to offer for dining, shopping, entertainment, outdoor activities and more. (We’ll also let you in on some hidden gems).

My birthday is close to Memorial Day weekend every year, and I like to take advantage of the long weekend by checking a town off of my Colorado travel list.

In years past, my friends and I have soaked up the San Juan Mountain views in the warmth of the Pagosa hot springs and gone whitewater rafting in Class 4 rapids down the Royal Gorge in Cañon City. This year, we’re planning on sandboarding through Great Sand Dunes National Park.

But it was my trip to Ouray in 2022 that still has me in pure awe. The mountain town is tucked in a valley surrounded by the San Juan Mountain Range and lives up to its “Switzerland of America” nickname. It takes roughly 5 1/2 hours to get there from Denver.

This month, Men’s Journal named Ouray the No. 1 vacation destination in the U.S. out of 50 on its 2024 list — for good reason.

Here’s a quick guide to my Ouray vacation for your reference, before the out-of-state tourists start crowding the humble mountain streets:

Where to stay: We booked Box Canyon Lodge & Hot Springs on the edge of town. Our room in the old-school lodge was small but affordable, and we weren’t spending much time inside anyway. When it rained, we warmed up in the red cedar tubs that are fed by mineral hot springs water.

Where to eat: We fueled up on coffee and chocolate croissants from Artisan Bakery & Cafe , watching topless, bright yellow tour Jeeps whiz down Main Street. We caught the golden hour (when only the peaks of the mountains are shrouded in sun) with some beers on the rooftop of Ouray Brewery . Then, for my birthday dinner, we celebrated with espresso martinis followed by braised short ribs and whipped Yukon potatoes at Brickhouse 737 .

A view of Ouray from Box Cañon Falls Park. (Photo by Lily O'Neill -- The Denver Post)

What to do: Our hotel was a quick walk away from Box Cañon Falls Park , where I highly recommend getting misted by a 285-foot waterfall plummeting into the quartzite canyon.

For summer visitors, horseback riding should be a top priority. We booked a two-hour ride in Ridgway, just down the road from Ouray, with Action Adventures Guide Outfitter . Riding through the aspen tree forests, creeks and alongside Ouray’s colorful landscape was an absolute dream.

If your legs need a break from all the nearby hiking trails, take a drive down the Million Dollar Highway . Not for the faint of heart, the 25-mile-long road winds around mountain and gorge views of all different hues of red, orange, blue and green. There’s also a “Switzerland of America” lookout point for a photo op.

On your way home, make a pit stop at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park , an hour outside of town. The steep look into the gorge, which I likened to the Grand Canyon’s little sister, reminds you just how small you are in this big world.

These Are My All-time Favorite White Linen Pants for Hot, Humid Destinations — Plus, 13 More Options From $27

They’re airy, not see-through, and easily the best thing I packed for Southeast Asia.

We independently evaluate all recommended products and services. If you click on links we provide, we may receive compensation. Learn more .

Travel + Leisure / Madison Woiten

I’m a frequent traveler who’s typically pretty chill about packing — I might start an hour before I plan to head to the airport and figure if I forget anything, I can just buy what I need at my destination. But last summer, when I was tasked with picking out what I’d wear for a whirlwind press trip to Southeast Asia (spending four nights in Phuket, Thailand, one night in Bangkok, and two nights near Ubud in Bali, Indonesia), I definitely felt more pressure to really get it right. There were seemingly endless plane rides ahead, some fancy dinners, and much exploring to be done, with little down time to pick up new outfits. Also, it was June and 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Thailand. Truly breathable clothing was essential, to say the least.

All of this leads me to the summer travel wardrobe staple that has saved me whenever I’m faced with these more crucial packing moments: the Angie Crop Wide Leg Pant from Splendid. These high-waisted, comfy drawstring white linen pants (which you can get at Nordstrom) come with me on all of my warm-weather trips, and they were especially clutch during my travels across Southeast Asia. They’re incredibly light and airy, and somehow didn’t hold onto any sweat smells even after being worn at least five times throughout my trip. Made from 73 percent lyocell and 27 percent linen, they withstand creasing more than purely linen pants (always a plus while traveling).

Splendid Angie Crop Wide Leg Pant

During my trip, my group stayed at Banyan Tree Veya in Phuket, Banyan Tree Bangkok , and Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape in Bali. These resorts — and the people working and staying there — are some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen, so I wanted to look nice enough to fit in. In other words, this was a once-in-a-lifetime trip, where I planned to take about 3 million photos, so selecting solid, workhorse pieces that were easy to mix and match, dress up or down, and could keep me cool, was key. I’m also a staunch carry-on-only gal, so I have a high standard for what makes it in my small suitcase. These pants fit the bill. They’re classic and stylish, which meant I could use them on tourist outings in Phuket spent walking through steamy markets and sight-seeing on tuk-tuks, and to upscale lagoon-boat-ride dinners. For daytime, I’d style them with sandals, a one-shoulder tank, and a scarf (for coverage at temples), and at night, I’d pair them with chunky wedges, a colorful halter top, a woven belt, and a matching linen button-down. The slightly cropped length is great for shorter people like me (I’m 5’4”), who often deal with dragging hems.

Linen basics certainly aren’t anything new, but as any tropical traveler knows, finding the perfect pair of “Big Pants,” aka flowy but flattering, wrinkle-resistant, and not see-through bottoms you can wear with anything, is no small task. After sweating my way around Thailand and Bali in the heat and humidity, trying to look hot without feeling it, I’m confident that these are the ones you buy to end your search for good.

Travel + Leisure / Kristin Canning

Everything I have from Splendid, which was founded with the goal of creating the ultimate comfy T-shirt (something I can definitely get behind!), has really impressed me when it comes to quality, has lasted through years of regular wear, and is totally worth the investment. They have a plethora of versatile and durable basics that make them a great brand to peruse for solid travel items — I have these pants in white and black, and I want to get even more.

Better than all the benefits of the fabric blend, style, and construction of these pants was the way they made me feel. Big Pants are a lifestyle. When you have them on, you just feel free, like you should be dancing near a palm tree, drinking out of a coconut, or swaying in a hammock. Buahan, the adults-only Banyan Tree resort in Bali that’s made up of 16 private villas tucked into a jungle hillside (there are no walls separating you from nature, only curtains), is frankly the most stunning destination I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting, but it’s not a place you really dress up. It’s sexy and relaxed, and in these pants, paired with a patterned scarf tied up as a top, I felt comfortable with and appreciative of my body, and I melted right into the sensual vibe. Certain clothes can get you into vacation mode mentally, help you transition into the laid-back version of yourself more easily. For me, these pants have that power. Whether I was trekking to the Tjampuhan Waterfall, exploring rice paddies filled with fireflies, or touring Taro, one of the oldest villages in Bali, and enjoying some jamu and laklak, this pant was my trusted companion.

If you’re feeling inspired to stock up on some breezy linen pants for your upcoming summer trips, the ones below are other gorgeous options I’ve been eyeing, in all kinds of styles and colors, and at various price points. May you be kicking back in Big Pants soon!

Abercrombie Women’s Linen-Blend Pull-On Pant

Abercrombie & Fitch

These minimalist, linen-viscose blend pants are totally effortless. They’re lined and have a hidden drawcord for more adjustability. Reviewers love ’em and say they’re “not see-through at all” — a major feat for any white pants.

Athleta Women’s Retreat Wide Leg Linen Pant

Athleta makes some of my all-time favorite workout leggings and bras, so I trust that these 100 percent linen pants have a comfortable and flattering fit. This pair stands out thanks to its split hem and zippered front pockets.

Quince Women’s 100% European Linen Pants

These mid-rise, ankle-cropped pants also feature sustainable linen sourced from Europe for a great price (which Quince is known for). If you’re dipping your toe (er, leg) into the 100 percent linen pants world for the first time, these laid-back, affordable capris are a great place to start.

Madewell Women’s Harlow Wide-Leg Pant in 100% Linen

I’m obsessed with the blue and white striped pattern on these Madewell trousers (the distant surplus color is equally as gorgeous). They’re a more tailored option, with belt loops, subtle pleats, and buttoned back pockets, but the wide leg and light fabric keeps them breezy. Wear them with the matching Scoop Neck Crop Tank and you have yourself the ultimate flattering vacation dinner outfit.

Everlane Women’s Linen Easy Pant

These 100 percent linen trousers, with their pull-on waistband and sleek, straight-leg fit, are the definition of casual chic — perfect for dressing up or down. They’re full length without pooling on the ground, and I love that they can be paired with the Linen High-Neck Tank to make a matching set, so you can devote exactly zero energy to putting a cute, breathable outfit together when you’re on vacation. Also cool: The fabric is made from flax fibers that are cultivated according to the European Confederation of Flax and Hemp, which means they’re sourced from Belgium, France, and the Netherlands via a more sustainable, environmentally friendly operation.

Utcoco Women’s Cotton Linen Drawstring High Waisted Pants

These wide-leg, drawstring pants — made from an 80/20 linen-cotton blend — are the perfect loose-fitting, lightweight bottoms for tourist-ing around coastal towns and hanging out at the beach (particularly in this soothing sage green color). I’d pair them with a white tied-up T-shirt or a bikini top and a breezy, open button-down.

Anrabess Women’s Linen Pants

These super high-waisted, slightly cropped, flowy drawstring pants (made from 30 percent linen and 70 percent rayon), look like the pants you need when you’re planning to eat a bunch of delicious, new-to-you foods at three different restaurants in one day and may end up just a wee bit bloated. They look extremely comfortable, flattering, and easy; the ruffled waist is a cute detail, too.

Athleta Women’s Retreat Linen Jogger

Made with 100 percent linen, these jogger-style pants (with the same zippered front pockets as the wide-leg pair from Athleta) would look cute with tennis shoes, chunky sandals, or even wedges. If you love sweats with cuffed ankles, these are an elevated (and airier) swap that will still feel comfortable on vacay.

Anrabess Women’s Linen Palazzo Pants

Seemingly designed specifically for lounging on a pool chaise in the tropics, these 70 percent rayon, 30 percent linen pants are begging to be packed for your next trip. The thick, smocked waistband looks extremely stretchy and comfortable, and I love the extensive range of colors. The only downside: The care instructions recommend dry cleaning only.

Iximo Women’s Tapered Pants

If you’re looking for a tapered pant that leans more trouser than jogger, this is it. The 100 percent linen bottoms have a slim fit, and a unique waistband with a drawstring in front and elastic scrunch in the back. One note: Care instructions call for hand washing only.

Madewell Women’s Pull-On Straight Crop Pant

Something about this sky baby blue pant and button-down combo screams breezy, sun-soaked getaway. The pants are made from a linen-viscose blend (using a viscose that takes less resources to produce), and the crop and pin tucks help strike that balance between tailored and relaxed.

J.Crew Women’s Soleil Pant in Linen

This is just a perfect, classic pair of 100 percent linen drawstring pants that could honestly become a wardrobe staple outside of travel. I appreciate the bright, vacation-worthy color options, and the wide size and height ranges.

BDG Urban Outfitters Women’s Cocoon Cotton & Linen Cargo Pants

Sneakers or sandals would look great with these cool cargo pants made of 65 percent cotton and 35 percent linen. The baggy, low-rise style would be cute with a fun crop top, too, and the denim-all-day girlies can get a similar vibe with these when it’s simply too hot and muggy for jeans.

Moscow – travel in russia.

russia moscow nonstoptravellers

A trip to the controversial Russia, the largest country in the world, is something that for many seems distant, difficult, dangerous but at the same time charming and exciting! What happens to this aristocratic country that has experienced times of power and wealth on the one hand and poverty and isolation on the other? What has the modern history of Russia left for its capital, Moscow?

We combined the journey to Moscow with the one to St. Petersburg for which we will write you of course a next article (impossible to fit them both in just a few lines), but in the case you can only visit Moscow, lets find out more.  The trip to Moscow is so much easier than you can imagine! First of all, Russia is a large European country and is indeed very close to Greece. In recent years access is very easy and affordable!

russia moscow nonstoptravellers

How and when to travel to Moscow

In Moscow you will arrive by air from Athens, Thessaloniki, Kavala and why not from Sofia airport! Airline tickets can found on average at about €150 but for economy enthusiasts you can travel through Bulgaria even with €30 return tickets trip (as long as you keep track of the airline offers often). It goes without saying that in the winter months tickets are cheaper but we do not recommend winter trip because you will not be able to enjoy the beauties of Moscow at-40 points! Prefer months such as May or September. But always keep in mind that even then there will be enough cold.

russia moscow nonstoptravellers

What you can do and what to see in Moscow

The most striking point of Moscow is none other than the magnificent Red Square! It is a huge square that emits power thanks to its deep red color. At the same square stands the fairytale Cathedral of St. Basil the most famous temple of Russian Orthodox tradition. Moving on to the square you will visit the Kremlin, which has been the centre of Russian political power for several centuries and has been a centre of Soviet power once! In the same square you will visit Lenin’s mausoleum and the huge, luxurious Gkoym department store. In this area we will recommend other places of interest, gardens, squares, the Bolshoi etc. There’s just so much to write that it simply doesn’t fit in a single article! We will tell you how to visit the Moscow Space Museum as well!

What to eat

The food is also a huge chapter and here we can help you since we have a personal opinion because of the half origin of Olga! We reemphasize that all food even in restaurants in central places is very very cheap! You will definitely try Piroshki in various variants with potato, cheese, egg etc., Barenika with potato or minced meat, pelmeni (tortellini) and Soups! Our beloved one is called Borsch and you will find it with less than €1 in all the restaurants in Moscow! It goes without saying that there are known fast food chains but of course… The decision is yours! Coffee and even a cup of tea in Russia can be found everywhere even in outdoor vehicles! In the streets you will corn that is a favorite dietary habit-delicacy of the Russians, and you will see them enjoying it in the many parks you will meet as you exploring the the city! Finally do not forget to try vodka! Authentic Russian and of course very cheap vodka!

nonstoptravellers moscow russia

Transportation

Ah, here we are talking about an entire history, an underground museum that reaches 18 floors below the earth. We refer of course to the Moscow Metro which is one of the oldest metro in the world and has one of the largest networks worldwide. You may have heard the quiz? What is the largest and cheapest museum in Moscow?  And yes, it’s the subway! The Moscow metro will just love it! It has infinite stops, it is very fast, almost every 1 minute comes a train, it is very very economical, has Internet (well read… It has internet 18 floors under the earth) and you can spend endless hours from station to station as it is an underground museum full of history and art! Statues, paintings, mosaics and countless exhibits suggesting the greatness that this city once lived!

Stay – accommodation

Staying in Moscow as strange as it may seem is too cheap, at least for European citizens it certainly is. Russia’s currency of ruble has deteriorated quite a bit in recent years, resulting in a loss of power over strong currencies like euro! Searching through the known platforms we use and we have written to you in our previous article, you will find both hotels and cheap apartments around the center at very good prices! Do not be afraid of distances if you find cheaper accommodation because you will be moving with the incredibly economical metro of Moscow, fearlessly and especially quickly throughout the city and its surroundings!

What to buy as a souvenir

Matrioskes! The famous dolls that are enclosed in each other, are typical examples of Russian folk art!

Cost of travel for one week?

We’ll tell you in the next article along with the trip to St. Petersburg, keep in mind that the price will surprise you… Positively!

The Comprehensive Guide to Moscow Nightlife

hot travel destinations april

Moscow’s nightlife scene is thriving, and arguably one of the best the world has to offer – top-notch Russian women, coupled with a never-ending list of venues, Moscow has a little bit of something for everyone’s taste. Moscow nightlife is not for the faint of heart – and if you’re coming, you better be ready to go Friday and Saturday night into the early morning.

This comprehensive guide to Moscow nightlife will run you through the nuts and bolts of all you need to know about Moscow’s nightclubs and give you a solid blueprint to operate with during your time in Moscow.

What you need to know before hitting Moscow nightclubs

Prices in moscow nightlife.

Before you head out and start gaming all the sexy Moscow girls , we have to talk money first. Bring plenty because in Moscow you can never bring a big enough bankroll. Remember, you’re the man so making a fuzz of not paying a drink here or there will not go down well.

Luckily most Moscow clubs don’t do cover fees. Some electro clubs will charge 15-20$, depending on their lineup. There’s the odd club with a minimum spend of 20-30$, which you’ll drop on drinks easily. By and large, you can scope out the venues for free, which is a big plus.

Bottle service is a great deal in Moscow. At top-tier clubs, it starts at 1,000$. That’ll go a long way with premium vodka at 250$, especially if you have three or four guys chipping in. Not to mention that it’s a massive status boost for getting girls, especially at high-end clubs.

Without bottle service, you should estimate a budget of 100-150$ per night. That is if you drink a lot and hit the top clubs with the hottest girls. Scale down for less alcohol and more basic places.

Dress code & Face control

Door policy in Moscow is called “face control” and it’s always the guy behind the two gorillas that gives the green light if you’re in or out.

In Moscow nightlife there’s only one rule when it comes to dress codes:

You can never be underdressed.

People dress A LOT sharper than, say, in the US and that goes for both sexes. For high-end clubs, you definitely want to roll with a sharp blazer and a pocket square, not to mention dress shoes in tip-top condition. Those are the minimum requirements to level the playing field vis a vis with other sharply dressed guys that have a lot more money than you do. Unless you plan to hit explicit electro or underground clubs, which have their own dress code, you are always on the money with that style.

Getting in a Moscow club isn’t as hard as it seems: dress sharp, speak English at the door and look like you’re in the mood to spend all that money that you supposedly have (even if you don’t). That will open almost any door in Moscow’s nightlife for you.

Types of Moscow Nightclubs

In Moscow there are four types of clubs with the accompanying female clientele:

High-end clubs:

These are often crossovers between restaurants and clubs with lots of tables and very little space to dance. Heavy accent on bottle service most of the time but you can work the room from the bar as well. The hottest and most expensive girls in Moscow go there. Bring deep pockets and lots of self-confidence and you have a shot at swooping them.

Regular Mid-level clubs:

They probably resemble more what you’re used to in a nightclub: big dancefloors, stages and more space to roam around. Bottle service will make you stand out more but you can also do well without. You can find all types of girls but most will be in the 6-8 range. Your targets should always be the girls drinking and ideally in pairs. It’s impossible not to swoop if your game is at least half-decent.

Basic clubs/dive bars:

Usually spots with very cheap booze and lax face control. If you’re dressed too sharp and speak no Russian, you might attract the wrong type of attention so be vigilant. If you know the local scene you can swoop 6s and 7s almost at will. Usually students and girls from the suburbs.

Electro/underground clubs:

Home of the hipsters and creatives. Parties there don’t mean meeting girls and getting drunk but doing pills and spacing out to the music. Lots of attractive hipster girls if that is your niche. That is its own scene with a different dress code as well.

What time to go out in Moscow

Moscow nightlife starts late. Don’t show up at bars and preparty spots before 11pm because you’ll feel fairly alone. Peak time is between 1am and 3am. That is also the time of Moscow nightlife’s biggest nuisance: concerts by artists you won’t know and who only distract your girls from drinking and being gamed. From 4am to 6am the regular clubs are emptying out but plenty of people, women included, still hit up one of the many afterparty clubs. Those last till well past 10am.

As far as days go: Fridays and Saturdays are peak days. Thursday is an OK day, all other days are fairly weak and you have to know the right venues.

The Ultimate Moscow Nightclub List

Short disclaimer: I didn’t add basic and electro clubs since you’re coming for the girls, not for the music. This list will give you more options than you’ll be able to handle on a weekend.

Preparty – start here at 11PM

Classic restaurant club with lots of tables and a smallish bar and dancefloor. Come here between 11pm and 12am when the concert is over and they start with the actual party. Even early in the night tons of sexy women here, who lean slightly older (25 and up).

The second floor of the Ugolek restaurant is an extra bar with dim lights and house music tunes. Very small and cozy with a slight hipster vibe but generally draws plenty of attractive women too. A bit slower vibe than Valenok.

Very cool, spread-out venue that has a modern library theme. Not always full with people but when it is, it’s brimming with top-tier women. Slow vibe here and better for grabbing contacts and moving on.

hot travel destinations april

High-end: err on the side of being too early rather than too late because of face control.

Secret Room

Probably the top venue at the moment in Moscow . Very small but wildly popular club, which is crammed with tables but always packed. They do parties on Thursdays and Sundays as well. This club has a hip-hop/high-end theme, meaning most girls are gold diggers, IG models, and tattooed hip hop chicks. Very unfavorable logistics because there is almost no room no move inside the club but the party vibe makes it worth it. Strict face control.

Close to Secret Room and with a much more favorable and spacious three-part layout. This place attracts very hot women but also lots of ball busters and fakes that will leave you blue-balled. Come early because after 4am it starts getting empty fast. Electronic music.

A slightly kitsch restaurant club that plays Russian pop and is full of gold diggers, semi-pros, and men from the Caucasus republics. Thursday is the strongest night but that dynamic might be changing since Secret Room opened its doors. You can swoop here but it will be a struggle.

hot travel destinations april

Mid-level: your sweet spot in terms of ease and attractiveness of girls for an average budget.

Started going downwards in 2018 due to lax face control and this might get even worse with the World Cup. In terms of layout one of the best Moscow nightclubs because it’s very big and bottle service gives you a good edge here. Still attracts lots of cute girls with loose morals but plenty of provincial girls (and guys) as well. Swooping is fairly easy here.

I haven’t been at this place in over a year, ever since it started becoming ground zero for drunken teenagers. Similar clientele to Icon but less chic, younger and drunker. Decent mainstream music that attracts plenty of tourists. Girls are easy here as well.

Sort of a Coyote Ugly (the real one in Moscow sucks) with party music and lots of drunken people licking each others’ faces. Very entertaining with the right amount of alcohol and very easy to pull in there. Don’t think about staying sober in here, you’ll hate it.

Artel Bessonitsa/Shakti Terrace

Electronic music club that is sort of a high-end place with an underground clientele and located between the teenager clubs Icon and Gipsy. Very good music but a bit all over the place with their vibe and their branding. You can swoop almost any type of girl here from high-heeled beauty to coked-up hipsters, provided they’re not too sober.

hot travel destinations april

Afterparty: if by 5AM  you haven’t pulled, it’s time to move here.

Best afterparty spot in terms of trying to get girls. Pretty much no one is sober in there and savage gorilla game goes a long way. Lots of very hot and slutty-looking girls but it can be hard to tell apart who is looking for dick and who is just on drugs but not interested. If by 9-10am you haven’t pulled, it is probably better to surrender.

The hipster alternative for afterparties, where even more drugs are in play. Plenty of attractive girls there but you have to know how to work this type of club. A nicer atmosphere and better music but if you’re desperate to pull, you’ll probably go to Miks.

Weekday jokers: if you’re on the hunt for some sexy Russian girls during the week, here are two tips to make your life easier.

Chesterfield

Ladies night on Wednesdays means this place gets pretty packed with smashed teenagers and 6s and 7s. Don’t pull out the three-piece suit in here because it’s a “simpler” crowd. Definitely your best shot on Wednesdays.

If you haven’t pulled at Chesterfield, you can throw a Hail Mary and hit up Garage’s Black Music Wednesdays. Fills up really late but there are some cute Black Music groupies in here. Very small club. Thursday through Saturday they do afterparties and you have an excellent shot and swooping girls that are probably high.

Shishas Sferum

This is pretty much your only shot on Mondays and Tuesdays because they offer free or almost free drinks for women. A fairly low-class club where you should watch your drinks. As always the case in Moscow, there will be cute girls here on any day of the week but it’s nowhere near as good as on the weekend.

hot travel destinations april

In a nutshell, that is all you need to know about where to meet Moscow girls in nightlife. There are tons of options, and it all depends on what best fits your style, based on the type of girls that you’re looking for.
