The innovative and unique Museum of the Future in Dubai is an exciting new addition to the Dubai skyline. Listed as one of the most innovative structures in the world, this futuristic museum is poised to become one of the most exciting tourist attractions in the city. It gives visitors valuable insight into the future of human technology and innovation with practical exhibits, amazing installations and unique inventions that are yet to be introduced to the world population. At the Museum of the Future, you can get a glimpse into the human potential – and what the world could look like a few decades down the line. Along with the exhibits, the very structure of the museum is reflective of its innovation – where a portion of the building was made by robots. The exterior is defined by massive steel panels with Arabic inscriptions, which makes the museum as distinctive as other iconic structures in Dubai including the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Frame. You can explore 7 floors of fantastic installations and exhibits that let you imagine a world several years in the future. It is also a wonderful place for children to familiarize themselves with technology and its unending potential. Museum of the Future encourages visitors to ask imaginative questions such as “What would a world where robots take care of the elderly, look like” and “Can AI help humans get superhuman powers like running faster than usual?” All these aspects of the Museum of the Future will allow you to transport yourself to the future and experience a world that is as yet, inaccessible to most of mankind. It is a one-of-a-kind experience that is impossible to find anywhere else in the world, one which will make your trip to Dubai a truly life-changing experience. Here is the Design and Architecture of the Museum of the Future Dubai:The Museum has been constructed by Killa Designs using the latest technology in design and construction. AI and robotics technology have been used to precision-cut almost 1000 moulds that make up the unique exterior of the museum. The shape of the museum represents the sky and the earth, inspired by Feng-Shui philosophies. One of the most distinctive features of the design is the Arabic calligraphy that is carved into the steel paneling, which are all quotes from the Prime Minister of Dubai talking about the future of the country. There are 7 levels which are connected by an elevated walkway that leads to the Metro Station, and also a bridge that links the museum directly with the Emirates Towers.Experience The Visual World By Booking: Museum of the Future Tickets

Dubai exudes a different aura and energy during the shopping festival. It is more than just a shopping festival, it is an experience that stays with you for many years. When it comes to shopping in Dubai, you will be spoilt for options. No surprise then that it is known as a shopper's paradise. Home to the world's largest shopping mall, The Dubai Mall, Dubai is not only about glamour and grandeur. Beneath the modern facade of the city lies an old-world charm of traditional souks where you can find everything from personalized perfumes to gold.

We have made a list of the must-buy things in Dubai so that you can shop without worry!

  • Gold Jewellery - The list of shopping in Dubai won't be complete without it, as Dubai is known as the 'City of Gold'. You can pick pretty gold pieces at a lower price compared to other parts of the globe.

  • Persian Rugs - Persian rugs are known for their intricate designs and detailing. The pricing depends on the size, detailing and quality of the rugs. You can also find affordable options in the souk.
  • Spices - These are extremely flavourful and are sold at affordable prices in local markets. This is the best way to bring home some authentic Middle Eastern flavours.

Highlights of an arabian sea cruise.

Desert landscapes and blissful beaches bordering turquoise tinged water await you in the countries bordering the Arabian Sea. You’ll also have the chance to visit unforgettable cities in India and the Middle East.

Oman Cities and Beaches

While in Muscat, you’ll be in a vibrant city bordering the Arabian Sea. You’ll get the chance to explore its top sights, beautiful architecture, as well as learn more about the culture of Oman. The city is also close to incredible beaches that are right by the warm, salty water of the Arabian Sea.

West Coast of India

The western coastline of India is completely bordered by the Arabian Sea, making our Dubai and India Cruises an exciting way to explore the sea since you’ll sail to or from Dubai and see the water views of the Arabian Sea before exploring ports of call in India like Mumbai, Goa, and Cochin.

If you have an overnight port of call in India, you’ll have time to journey to the magnificent Taj Mahal, one of the most impressive architectural wonders in the world. Marvel at its unique dome-shaped roof and gleaming white marble exterior as you gaze at the mausoleum from across the long river-fed pool in front of it.

Arabian Sea Cruise Ports

The ports of call located along the Arabian Sea that you can sail to on a cruise include Muscat, Oman; Goa, India; Cochin, India; and Mumbai, India. In addition your Arabian Sea cruise will stop in the United Arab Emirates and also may call at ports in Sri Lanka and Thailand. Arabian Sea and Suez Canal itineraries take you up through the Suez Canal waterway that runs through Egypt and into the Mediterranean Sea where you can explore European ports of call.

Goa (Mormugao)

Mumbai (Bombay)

Arabian Sea Shore Excursions

Shore excursions are available during your Arabian Sea that can give you a day full of action-packed exploration or laidback relaxation. However you want to spend your day, you’ll be astounded by the sights and flavors you’ll experience during your time in port.

Desert Exploration

While in port in Muscat, Oman, you’ll be in a prime location to see some of the vast desert that is located just a short drive from the city of Muscat. A shore excursion that takes you into the desert on a dune drive is a safe and fun way to explore it.

Beach Break

If you’re excited about an Arabian Sea cruise, you’re likely also excited about getting the chance to swim in the Arabian Sea. You can do so on a beach break shore excursion that takes you to one of the region’s best beaches with serene lounge chairs lining the sea for you to relax on.

Food and Drink Tours

Learn what people who live along the Arabian Sea eat and drink on a shore excursion that focuses on cuisine or tea. High Tea can be found in both Goa and Muscat. You can also visit local markets to taste fresh produce and enjoy a private dinner featuring local cuisine on a Chef’s Market Discovery.

Helpful Tips Before You Go

It’s important to plan out what you’ll pack carefully and thoughtfully. Many of the ports you’ll visit during an Arabian Sea cruise have traditionally strict dress rules for men and women, and women in particular will want to make sure to dress appropriately, which perhaps means more conservatively and covered up than you’re used to back home.

In addition, you’ll want to ensure that -- while staying appropriately covered -- you stay cool. The countries bordering the Arabian Sea often have hot temperatures and wearing loose-fitting clothing in breathable, natural fabrics like cotton and linen are key to feeling more comfortable.

When visiting Oman, be aware that the drinking customs are different there. Drinking in public is not allowed and it is a crime to be drunk in public, and even local residents need to get a special license in order to be able to drink at home. For tourists, there are hotels and restaurants that have an alcohol license where you can get a drink. Be sure you are purchasing alcohol from a licensed seller.

When in India, don’t be surprised if you see people eating with their hands since it is customary not to use cutlery in many regions. Also, when dining in India, be aware that the cow is considered to be a sacred animal and eating beef is outlawed in many Indian states.

Cruise safety tips.

As you would be staying on the ship for several days when on a cruise, it is important to stay safe at all times. Here are some cruise safety tips you need to know.

  • All cruises conduct muster drills before the cruise begins. It is not only important to attend but also to pay careful attention. During the muster drill, you would be given instructions on what to do in case of an emergency. Right from recognizing the different sounds or horns to wearing your vests properly, you would get to know everything here.
  • It would be best to travel on a cruise with a group of people. If you are travelling on your own, try to make a friend right in the beginning, so that you can look out for each other.
  • Most cruises have numerous bars, making alcohol easily available. However, it is important to not go overboard and drink responsibly. Just like in regular bars, do not accept drinks from strangers even on a cruise.
  • If you are invited to the crew quarters by a crew member, do not accept. It is unsafe and also can lead to the dismissal of the crew member. You could be asked to leave the cruise too, at the next port.
  • It is best not to carry large amounts of cash with you. Most cruise offers key rooms as credit cards which you can swipe if you want to purchase anything onboard. In case you are venturing out when the cruise docks at a port, make sure you carry the cash safely.
  • Do not carry valuables like jewellery, electronic items, etc. during the cruise. If you do need to carry any, use the safe in your room to keep them protected.
  • Always make sure that your door is properly shut before you leave the room. The same rule applies when you enter the room too.
  • If your room has a balcony, make sure that it is locked when you are not in the room and also at night. Keep it shut when the ship is docked at a port.

Documents Required before Boarding a Cruise

As you would be travelling to a foreign country, you need to carry some important documents just like when travelling by flight.

  • While travelling to Dubai by cruise, you need to have a valid passport. Your passport should have at least six months validity from the date of travel.
  • You need to have Dubai or UAE visa as well as Oman visa if you are planning to explore Muscat. If you are not an Indian citizen and are travelling from Dubai to Mumbai, you would need to get an Indian visa.
  • You may have to produce additional documents like birth certificates, marriage certificates, vaccination certificates, etc. if the cruise demands it.
  • The rules for documents to be produced are likely to change from time to time and depend on the discretion of the cruise liner.

What to Pack for a Cruise

If you are going on a cruise for the first time, you would be confused about the things you should take with you. Here are some important things that you should pack.

  • Formal Clothes: Along with your casual, regular clothes, it would be best to carry formal attire (suits for men and gowns or cocktail dresses for women) for special events or dinner.
  • Toiletries: You would find basic toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. in your room. However, it would not be something you use on a regular basis. So, it would be best to carry your own ones.
  • Medicines: Apart from your regular prescription medicines (if any), carry some emergency medicines for fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, etc. to be on the safer side.
  • Footwear: When it comes to footwear, carry both closed, formal ones and regular flip-flops too.
  • Portable Charger: While you would have to charge facilities in your room, you would not want to be stuck in the room while your phone or other electronic devices keep charging. With a portable charger, you can charge your devices anywhere you go.

Facilities Available on a Cruise Ship

Cruise ships are not just for travelling from one place to another. In fact, they are the epitome of luxury and have everything that you would find in a renowned hotel on land. Here are some of the facilities and amenities you would find on most cruise ships to Dubai.

  • Restaurants: Most cruise ships have a variety of restaurants to cater to all kinds of tastes. In short, you can try a different restaurant for every meal.
  • Bars and Cafes: As you are on holiday, you can enjoy yourself with your favourite drink at any time. Right from pool bars to classic bars, you would be surprised by the variety of bars on cruises.
  • Spa: Relax your body and mind by getting a massage by professional masseurs at the fully-equipped spas on the cruise.
  • Play Area: If you are travelling with kids, you would not have a difficult time trying to keep them occupied. Most cruises have play areas that would entertain them for hours.
  • Pool Area: Kids and adults on the cruise would love to splash and swim in the pool, and some of the cruises have several pools.
  • Stewards: Just like flights have air hostesses and stewards, cruise ships also have stewards who take care of all your needs during your journey.

There is a number of cruises that ply between Dubai and the capital of Bollywood, Mumbai. Most of these cruises make a stop at Muscat, Sir Bani Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, and other ports before moving on to Mumbai. Some cruises stop at Mangalore in India before hitting Mumbai. Select the cruise you want based on which ports you want to explore, how many days you can devote to the cruise and the quality of the cruise line. Be sure to book early to enjoy all the early-bird prizes.

Local Cuisine

You'll be able to find food from anywhere around the globe here — but focus on the local fare for the most authentic experience with Dubai cruises. While you're out on the town, pick up a shawarma , shaved strips of spicy spit-roasted meat served in pita bread. Try manousheh , a flatbread topped with local Akkawi cheese and za'atar herbs. Slate your sweet tooth with luqaimat , fried dough balls spiced with saffron and cardamom.

Pick one of the large number of malls in this shopping Mecca. There's Dubai Mall, the world's largest shopping center, as well as the Mall of Emirates. For a more traditional experience, browse the colorful souqs in Bur Dubai and Deira for Persian carpets, Arabic coffee pots and other trinkets.

Two major bridges have been opened at Zaa’beel and Al Quoz 1 on Al Khail Road in the direction of Jebel Ali, by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The completed bridges span 1,350 metres and have a combined capacity of about 8,000 vehicles per hour.

The opening of these two bridges are part of a broader project by RTA that aims to reduce travel time by 30%, and increase the capacity of existing intersections and bridges by 19,600 vehicles per hour.

The Al Khail Road Development Project, involving the construction of 3,300-metre-long bridges and the widening of lanes stretching over 6,820 metres, has been completed by 80%, the RTA announced.

Stay up to date with the latest news. Follow KT on WhatsApp Channels.

These improvements are spread across seven sites on Al Khail Road, covering Al Jaddaf, Business Bay, Zaa’beel, Meydan, Al Quoz 1, Ghadir Al Tair, and Jumeirah Village Circle.

Opening of two bridges

  • Zaa'beel - 700-metre bridge with three lanes connecting traffic from Zaa’beel Palace Street and Oud Metha Street to Al Khail Road towards Jebel Ali. The bridge has a capacity of 4,800 vehicles per hour.
  • Al Quoz 1 - 650-metre bridge with two lanes connecting traffic from Al Meydan Street to Al Khail Road towards Jebel Ali. The bridge has a capacity of 3,200 vehicles per hour.

Sites of improvement work

The project includes improvement works at seven sites along Al Khail Road, Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, said. The project has reached an 80% completion rate.

  • Al Jaddaf - A new lane will be added to improve traffic flow towards Deira. The road’s capacity in the sector between the intersections of Oud Metha Street and Financial Centre Street will be increased by 2,000 vehicles per hour. Works also include the new bridge at Zaa’beel. Surface road improvements will be done over 850 metres to link traffic from Al Khail Road to Financial Centre Street towards Sheikh Zayed Road.
  • Meydan area on Al Khail Road - Construction of a 610-metre bridge with two lanes between the intersections of Al Meydan Street and Ras Al Khor Street. The bridge will have capacity of 3,200 vehicles per hour, connecting traffic from Meydan Street to Al Khail Road towards Deira. Surface road improvements will be done over 1,550 metres to connect traffic from Al Khail Road towards Ras Al Khor Street.
  • Al Quoz 1 on Al Khail Road - Work includes the new bridge opened at Al Quoz 1. Surface road improvements will be done over 2,170 metres to connect traffic from Al Khail Road to Al Waha Street and Latifa Bint Hamdan Street
  • Ghadir Al Tair on Al Khail Road - Construction of a 640-metre bridge with two lanes between the intersections of Al Meydan Street and Latifa Bint Hamdan Street. The bridge will have a capacity of 3,200 vehicles per hour to facilitate traffic from Latifa Bint Hamdan Street to Al Khail Road towards Deira. Surface road improvements will be done over 1,350 metres to link traffic from Al Khail Road to Al Meydan Street.
  • Jumeirah Village Circle on Al Khail Road - Construction of 700-metre bridge with two lanes between the intersections of Hessa Street and Al Khamila Street. The bridge will have a capacity of 3,200 vehicles per hour to connect traffic from Al Khail Road to Hessa Street. Surface road improvements will be done over 900 metres to link traffic from Jumeirah Village Circle to Al Khail Road towards Deira.

In May, RTA completed the widening works in Al Jaddaf and Business Bay . A new 600-metre lane was added on Al Khail Road at Al Jaddaf to improve traffic flow towards Deira, increasing the road’s capacity by 2,000 vehicles per hour.

A new 435-metre lane was added to enhance traffic flow towards Business Bay from Al Khail Road and improve traffic safety in the direction of Jebel Ali. According to the plan, three bridges will open at three locations by the end of this October, serving traffic towards Deira.

Mattar Al Tayer

Al Tayer said: "Al Khail Road Development Project is a key strategic project aimed at developing parallel and supporting road corridors to Sheikh Zayed Road, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, and Emirates Road. Al Khail Road is a major arterial road in Dubai, extending from the Business Bay Crossing to its intersection with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. It consists of five lanes in each direction, expanding to more than six lanes in some sections," Al Tayer commented.

  • Dubai: New 3-lane bridge now open, easing traffic towards Al Khail Road
  • Dubai traffic: Travel time cut by 20% at 4 key locations ahead of back-to-school rush
  • Dubai: Travel time cut by 50% for 2 communities as RTA completes road works

Emirates review: What it’s like to fly 17 hours in Economy Class from Auckland to Dubai

Stephanie Holmes

What to expect on Emirates’ 17-hour Auckland to Dubai flight, from entertainment options to passenger etiquette.

Stephanie Holmes boards a 17-hour flight from Auckland to Dubai, but the extra long flight time is the least of her concerns.

Plane etiquette debates rage across the internet and social media almost every day.

It’s acceptable to take your shoes off, but how about your socks? Can you rest said un-socked feet on the armrest of the seat in front of you? Is it wrong to drape your long hair over the seat-back TV of the person behind you? Should your toddler roam the aisles unaccompanied? Does the person in the middle seat get both armrests?

On this 17-hour flight from Auckland to Dubai with Emirates - one of the world’s longest direct routes - there was a whole new issue to contend with. Read on for my review.

READ MORE: Emirates’ plans for New Zealand

Flight Check - Auckland to Dubai with Emirates

Flight number: EK449

From: Auckland

Visas and requirements: I was only transiting through Dubai and wasn’t leaving the airport, so no visa was required. If you’re there for a lengthier stopover, NZ passport holders can visit Dubai without pre-applying for a visa - a 30-day visit visa will be stamped in your passport on arrival.

Departure airport experience: The new international terminal drop-off area is still a work in progress, but it’s an impressive start - my Uber dropped me off in the designated zone and it was a short walk to the terminal. The AT Hop Card vending machine in the carpark is a nice touch for tourists arriving into the country … although I didn’t see any information about buses to the city. Hopefully it’s well signposted elsewhere.

Inside the terminal, the Emirates counters were queue-free. As a Silver tier member with Emirates’ frequent flyer programme , Skywards, I received express lane access through passport control and security. With the updated security rules meaning laptops and liquids no longer need to be taken out of bags for screening, I was through to departures within 10 minutes of getting out of the Uber.

READ MORE: Jesse Mulligan flies Business Class from Auckland to Tokyo with Air New Zealand

The A380 aircraft used on this route is the world's largest passenger airliner, known for its quiet cabins and spacious design.

Seat: 65C, an aisle seat in the Economy Class cabin , which is 3-4-3 configuration. Seats have a pitch of 32-34 inches, and a width of 18 inches (compared to 18.5 in Business and 23 in First). My seat was right next to the toilet, which has its pluses and minuses - on the positive, I could easily see when the toilet was vacant and quickly hop up whenever I needed to use it. The negative is the noise and disturbance of people entering and exiting throughout the flight. With earplugs in and eyemask on, it wasn’t an issue.

The flight was exceptionally full, but I was in one of very few rows with a spare seat between me and my neighbour. The unwritten rule in this situation is that the woman in the window seat and I would mutually respect this gift and draw an imaginary line down the middle of the seat to both have a little more room.

But it seemed she was only familiar with the concept of personal space in the context of her own. She spent the whole flight curled up on the two seats - sometimes with her feet wedged up against my armrest, other times with her head mere millimetres from my legs.

Outrageous. But, thanks to my stiff upper lip English upbringing, I was too polite to say anything and instead silently seethed for most of the flight. The fantasies of ‘accidentally’ spilling my water on her while she slept kept me entertained though.

The Auckland to Dubai route is one of the world’s longest non-stop flights, clocking in at 17 hours.

Crew: Emirates crew are always a multi-national bunch, and this flight was no different - there were representatives from 16 countries, who spoke 10 different languages.

They were friendly and helpful, yet also strictly abided by the captain’s instructions.

After take off we quickly entered turbulence , and - no doubt because of the recent incident on Singapore Airlines, where passengers and crew suffered serious injuries due to severe turbulence - this wasn’t taken lightly. Seat belt signs were switched on, crew were instructed to take their seats, and no food or drink service was available.

This stayed in place for the first 2.5 hours of the flight. Obviously it was the absolute correct call from a safety perspective but it was an uncomfortable start to a lengthy flight - parents having to keep their children from going to the bathroom, and not so much as a sip of water for those who didn’t bring their own.

Food and drink: By the time the crew were finally able to resume service, I was about ready to chew off my own fingers, so it really didn’t matter to me what I ate, but the dinner of salmon with couscous and peas was tasty, albeit a little cold by the time it made it to me.

Snacks were available throughout the flight, and cabin crew regularly roamed the aisles with trays of water and juice.

In the morning, breakfast was a choice of scrambled eggs or cheese omelette. I had the former - the texture was sloppy yet the taste was good.

Entertainment: Emirates’ ICE system is one of the best inflight entertainment systems in the world, with an extensive collection of movies, TV shows, audio selections, and live TV, so there’s no chance of being bored, even on a 17-hour journey. I flicked through at the start of the flight and found 53 movies and TV episodes I was interested in watching. I added them all to my playlist so I could quickly find them again.

Emirates’ ICE system offers one of the most extensive in-flight entertainment libraries, with thousands of movies, TV shows, and music choices.

Arrival airport experience: For such an international hub, I’m always surprised at how smooth it is to transit through Dubai - queues move quickly and there’s a sense of peace amid the hustle and bustle. As a Silver Skywards member, I had complimentary access to the Emirates Business Class lounge.

Parts of it are undergoing renovations at the moment, but there were still plenty of seating options, and high-quality food and drink on offer. There was no wait to use the showers, and it was an absolute luxury to be able to freshen up after 17 hours cooped up in Economy.

The best bit: Being able to get a comfortable eight hours sleep , despite the best attempts of my rude seat neighbour.

The worst bit: My rude seat neighbour.

Final verdict: Seventeen hours is a long time in the air, but the A380 aircraft, Emirates’ service and entertainment system all make it as comfortable as it possibly could be.

How Young India is Traveling – India Report

Bulbul Dhawan

Bulbul Dhawan , Skift

More than 65% of Indian population is aged below 35. With increasing spending power, these young travelers make for a large potential traveler base.

Bulbul Dhawan

The Skift India Newsletter is your go-to platform for all news related to travel, tourism, airlines, and hospitality in India.

Indian Gen Z and Millennials prefer to travel in the off-peak season to avoid crowds and reduce costs, according to a report by online visa application platform Atlys.

Young travelers are attending international sports events, looking at cultural hotspots, and going on solo adventures as part of their travels. During the Olympic Games this year, the platform saw a 60% increase in visa applications from India for France. This was driven in large part by younger travelers, Atlys said.

“Understanding the preferences of younger travelers is crucial as they drive major trends in the travel industry,” said Mohak Nahta, CEO of Atlys.

Gen Z and Millennials prefer destinations such as the UAE, Vietnam, and Egypt. On the other hand, solo travelers are preferring Egypt, Azerbaijan, and Oman.

Interestingly, Gen Z and Millennials from Maharashtra, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh are driving outbound travel from India, Atlys said. These states have shown a significant volume of visa applications.

The Young Indian Travelers: India is a growing source of outbound tourism, as it is developing “fast-growing pools of first-time tourists,” according to consulting firm McKinsey and Company . McKinsey has also projected that India will become the fourth-largest domestic travel market in terms of spending by 2030 – it currently ranks sixth.

Earlier this year, a report by online travel agency Skyscanner had said that over 81% of Indian Gen Zs start planning their first international trips as soon as they secure a job or receive their first paycheck.

Budget is the most important consideration for the young travelers, as more than half of the youth prefer to use their own money, including income and personal savings, for these travels. About 20% of young Indian travelers are also using schemes such as buy-now-pay-later while booking their trips.

South Africa Announces New Preferred Visa System

South Africa’s department of home affairs has announced a new preferred visa system aiming to attract Chinese and Indian travelers. The system will be implemented in January next year.

Indian and Chinese nationals do not have visa-free access to South Africa. The new system, the Trusted Tour Operator Scheme, is expected to cut down some of the red tape around South Africa’s visa process for the nationals of the two countries. Under the scheme, approved tour operators from India and China will be able to register with the department and offer fast-tracked visas to their clients.

Meanwhile, South African Tourism has partnered with Ethiopian Airlines to offer affordable air travel to the country as part of a new campaign. The campaign offers special low airfare on Ethiopian Airlines’ routes from Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai to Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Thomas Cook Witnessing Growing Festival Tourism

Travel services company Thomas Cook India and its group company SOTC are witnessing a growing trend of festival tourism. Thomas Cook said that there is a shift from the traditional home-based celebrations among Indians, as they are now increasingly traveling with family for fun celebrations during festivals.

The company has launched festive tours for Durga Puja and Diwali to capitalize on the trend.

It said that Indians are now opting for longer stays during festival vacations: the stays have increased from three days earlier to 6-15 days now. “The appetite to spend has increased by 10-15% YoY,” the company said.

Accor has announced the signing of a Pullman hotel in Varanasi. The 180-room hotel is set to open in January 2029. In November last year, Accor had signed its second Pullman in India, set to come up in Amritsar in 2027.

Accor currently operates 64 properties in India, and has a developmental pipeline of 30 hotels.

In an earnings call earlier this year , Accor CEO Sébastien Bazin had said that it will benefit as the middle class expands, especially in India. “What’s most important … is the increase of the emerging middle-class population, which went up one billion in the last 10 years, half of those from India. Those are the preferred targets for Ibis, Mercure, and many of the hotels in our core,” he had said.

He further said, ““India alone… had 35 million international travelers for the last two to three years,” Bazin said. “There is no question in my mind that India will reach the 150 million mark that we’ve been enjoying with China and America.”

The Leela Partners With RedBeryl

The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts has entered into a strategic alliance with luxury lifestyle management company RedBeryl. The partnership will provide RedBeryl members access to the Leela Discovery membership.

Shweta Jain, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer of The Leela, said, “Desire for immersive travel experiences continues to rise, particularly among the young affluent. Over 60% of luxury travelers are seeking custom, stress-free experiences that align with their lifestyle.”

As part of the alliance, RedBeryl and The Leela will launch joint marketing campaigns and co-create exclusive events to highlight the features of the partnership.
