The Willett family has a long history in distilling, going all the way back to the 19th century. But for whatever reason (it's not quite clear to me why) they hadn't distilled since the early 1980's. That changed a couple of years ago, when in 2012 they opened their new distillery, located only minutes outside of Bardstown, Kentucky.

The distillery was erected near the family farm, which had been purchased by Lambert Willett, Thompson s dad. Upon completion, in the spring of 1937, Willett Distillery produced its ?rst batch of Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey.
