Available year-round, you can get a ride around the entirety of the farm with a Tanaka worker, checking out over 60 different fruits and vegetables and picking your own foods. Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve

If you’re looking for an activity that’s both scenic and active, head to the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. Spanning 1,300 acres, this reserved swath of land is home to coastal wetlands and the largest saltwater marsh between Monterey Bay and Tijuana. Here, you can see a totally different kind of California landscape, with a mix of fresh and saltwater marshes, tidal sloughs, dense vegetation, and swamps.

While the town is not actually touching the water, Costa Mesa is just minutes from the beach. But before you apply the sun tan lotion and grab the skim board, take a little time to enjoy the town of Costa Mesa and what it has to offer. For instance, you could drop by Tewinkle Park, otherwise known as the "Angels' Playground." This is a great opportunity for you and your family to enjoy some leisure time together. The numerous lakes, waterfalls and waterfowl provide the perfect setting for a relaxing stroll, as well as playful adventures for the kids.
