Highland Safaris Cafe

Ratings and reviews, location and contact.

We came here as we had booked a Safari for later in the day and having not been able to park in Aberfeldy We decided to try the cafe, it was just great, from the warm welcome from the staff to the good food on... the menu. I had a tasty bowl of soup with a very cheesy scone and my husband had a lovely mixed chicken salad with a good dressing. We had an enormous piece of Coffee cake and a coffee to finish all was delecious. We later went on to have a brilliant safari up the hill despite the weather. More

We had a wonderful day on site here. We came for the red deer centre but ended up staying on site for over 4 hours! Excellent breakfast baps, really good homemade cake and our almost 3 year old absolutely loved the gold panning which is... really fun and excellent value. She hasn't stopped talking about it and treasures her "real gold"! Thank you for a brilliant day. More

Many thanks for your lovely review - so glad you had a good day at Highland Safaris. There's plenty for everyone to do - gold panning is a favourite with the young and the not so young! We hope to welcome you back when you... More

Stopped in here for lunch and we had a great venison burger and a fab salad with home made hummus with a flatbread. Burger was suped up with black pudding and chilli jam - “ not many things that aren’t improved by black pudding” stated... my hubby! Salad was delicious and interesting with the addition of roasted veg. All CoVid measures adhered to and the lady serving in the shop (with ponytail and glasses on Sunday 11th) had just amazing people skills - she was so cheery and welcoming! We’ve previously seen the owl fly and met the red deer and that was really worth doing too! Would come back just for the cafe! More

Thank you very much for your lovely review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your lunch in the cafe - we try to source as much of the produce used, locally, and the venison burgers are always very popular. We look forward to seeing you... More

Popped in for lunch after our Loch Tay boat safari. Decided on the haggis panini and hubby had the french toast, bacon and maple syrup from the specials board. Both meals were very tasty and well presented. Finished with home made empire biscuits, tea and... coffee which were just as good. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Will definitely visit again next time we’re in the area. More

Thank you very much for your review, we are delighted to hear you enjoyed the French Toast - it has proven to be a firm favourite ever since it was introduced to our breakfast specials board! We do pride ourselves on our locally sourced ingredients,... More

We were visiting Castle Menzies and asked if there were anything else in the region to do. They recommended Highland Safari and although we did not do a Safari due to time restraint we enjoyed a meal there. The food was good and service extremely... friendly. It was a beautiful warm day so our family enjoyed a nice meal outside. I would recommend a visit here for good food and great scenery . More

An incredibly friendly welcome from the team of staff. Warm and homely feel. The food is prepared and cooked on site. Simply delicious. Loads of things to do whilst there and a well stocked shop for gifts and souveniers. Highly recommended.

Many thanks for your review - it is great to hear that you enjoyed your time here & the food in our cafe; we do try to source most of the produce as locally as possible. See you next time!

We arrived when only one other party was there. We went for a simple breakfast of 2x Eggs Benedict and waited 40 minutes for it. One of the meals was deducted from the bill but by there the experience was definitely negative.

Good home cooked food at a fair price served in a friendly efficient manner. Something on the menu to suit everyone whether a hot drink and cake or something more filling. Cold drinks and ice cream also available. Just next to the small gift shop,... the cafe is a great place to wait for your safari or just while away some time. More

After trawling Aberfeldy without success looking for coffee and cake on a Monday afternoon, we decided to try the Highland safaris cafe again. We were not disappointed! Friendly service and staff, amazing home made food and cakes and a small problem with the wrong soup... very quickly rectified. Please try this place. Local business trying very hard and getting it right. We will be back. Thank you x More

We came just as they opened for breakfast. The staff where so friendly + welcoming. As we sat and ate our food a lovely black lad called Tia arrived at our feet to what we got told she use to live there. Was definitely a... good send off back home to North Yorkshire. More

Had lunch in the cafe on Thursday 26th Jan after our Highland Safari trip. Really nice, warm and well laid out cafe with several outside tables for warmer times. The staff were really friendly with all customers. We both enjoyed the yellow split pea soup... of the day-with a cheese scone for the wife and a ham, cheese and pickle toastie for me……..then we couldn’t resist cappuccinos and big slabs of carrot cake & lemon cake! Everything tasted great and decent value at just over £30. Would definitely visit again when in the area and no hesitation in recommending. More

We often come here when we’re up in Scotland and the food and service is always fantastic. Today I had the very best Cullen Skink I’ve ever had in my life - and I’ve had a few! I complimented the chef, Danny who had apparently... had the same comment fed back the day before. The staff are unfailingly friendly, helpful and polite. The views, gift shop, gold panning and wild life safaris are also a great feature here Children have plenty to have fun with in summer but even today, it’s a joy to be here. Long may it survive!! Thank you very much for your review - we are delighted you enjoy Highland Safaris, and thank you for your custom!

The food we ordered was delicious. This is a cafe that knows their stuff when it comes to flavour and texture working in beautiful harmony. Whilst we were there, it was at lunch time which you would assume would be a busy time and it... was. Yet there was only one waitress taking food orders. It was as if either someone was off or someone had let too many people go for a break at once. This meant that ordering and receiving our food took longer than you would expect. The staff were perfectly friendly, both in the cafe and in the shop which leads me to believe it is just some form of staffing error and s one off situation rather than common practice for there to only be one person taking food orders. Just stopped for a quick pit stop and had a pleasant surprise. Never heard of this place despite touring regularly nearby. Coffee and cake was perfect and a good price but every staff member was attentive friendly and chatty. The big surprise though is the... variety of safaris that you can go on.
