The Mystery Island Tour is a leisure activity in Animal Crossing: New Horizons operated by Dodo Airlines . The tour can be embarked on in exchange for a Nook Miles Ticket by speaking to Orville at the airport. Each tour brings the participant to a random deserted island, known as a Mystery Island , where they can harvest materials for crafting and catch rare bugs and fish . They also may find fossils , DIY recipes inside message bottles , and villagers if there is an empty plot on the player 's island .

Characteristics [ edit ]

After paying a Nook Miles Ticket to Orville, the player will be transported to the island in a seaplane piloted by Wilbur , who will remain stationed on the dock for the duration of the tour. Once the player leaves to go home the island can never be revisited as, according to Wilbur, the map with the island's coordinates is destroyed for security reasons. In actuality, the islands are randomly generated from templates each time they are visited and deleted once the player leaves, so care must be taken to ensure no wanted items are left behind as they will be permanently lost. The player is free to do as they wish on the island as any changes will not affect future island visits.

Various tools are necessary in order to fully explore the islands and harvest their resources, though each island contains a simple DIY workbench in case the player needs to make their own while on tour. If the player cannot obtain the resources needed to make tools, they can purchase tools from Wilbur in exchange for Nook Miles . A vaulting pole and a ladder are the most crucial tools to have, as much of the islands are entirely inaccessible without these tools.

There are 20 archetypes in all for the Mystery Islands (with five missing in the game's data), some of which are much rarer to experience than others. Every island always contains a dock, a Simple DIY Workbench for crafting , rocks and beaches on the left and right sides containing palm trees and shells . Many of the islands will contain flowers , which is either the native flower or the sister flower of the player's island. There's a 30% chance that a message bottle may be found washed ashore in the sand, in addition to a 30% chance for a fossil to be buried. Each island that features regular non- fruit -bearing trees will have a least one that contains a wasp nest and one with a furniture leaf. The fruit-bearing trees bear the same fruit as the player's island, with the exception of one island that bears the sister fruit.

Tourists [ edit ]

Potential villagers can appear when visiting the tour islands, and they can be asked to move to the player's own island as a resident. Initially these villagers will always be either lazy , normal or peppy ; once a villager of a given type has been invited, only villagers of the remaining type(s) will appear. Should a tourist be invited to become a resident, they will not move to the island until 3 new housing plots are prepared for Tom Nook .

Tourists will stop appearing on the islands from this point until Resident Services is upgraded into a building and the campsite is built. The player will then be able to purchase housing plots to place around town. From this point, villagers of every personality will begin appearing on the islands, if and only if an open plot is available (including if a plot is opened up by a villager moving away).

The villager that appears on a mystery island is determined randomly by choosing which species it will generate, then randomly choosing one of the villagers from that species. This makes octopus villagers, with only four in New Horizons , more common than a multitudinous species, such as cats , with 23 representatives. Once invited, the villager will occupy the oldest-placed housing plot the next day.

Types of Mystery Islands [ edit ]

Short river and pond [ edit ].

Chance: 9.68%

Internal name

A fairly ordinary island with a pond in the south-west corner and a river flowing from a pond on top of a cliff in the north to a mouth in the east. Three rocks can be found on the lowest level, and one on the raised section.

Short river [ edit ]

Very similar to the previous island, but without the pond and a somewhat wider upper level. Three rocks can be found on the lowest level, and one on the raised section.

Spiral [ edit ]

The river on this island follows a spiral pattern, with rocks arranged around different points of the spiral. Despite the unusual layout, there is nothing special about the island. The flowers and fruit-bearing trees on this island are the same as the ones native to the player's home.

Fidget spinner [ edit ]

A small island with a large fidget spinner-shaped pond on the right half of the island, and a small raised cliff area in the upper left corner. Four rocks can be found in each corner.

Mountain [ edit ]

An island containing three levels of elevation. A ring of fruit trees surrounds the top-most cliffs, atop which many flowers and five rocks can be found. These rocks have a higher than normal chance to generate ore when hit, and may also spawn a pill bug or centipede .

Money rocks [ edit ]

A island containing a large ring-shaped pond, forming an islet in the center. Fruit trees and flowers surround the pond. The islet contains 5 rocks, all of which will dispense Bells when struck with a shovel or axe . The only way to pole vault across is on a tiny strip of land at the back of the island that juts out towards it. A money rock blocks the way and must be destroyed (by eating fruit) to cross.

Bamboo [ edit ]

Chance: 9.85%

A small square island covered entirely in bamboo . Bamboo shoots can be found buried next to the stalks.

Fruit orchard [ edit ]

Chance: 10.15%

A somewhat wide island with a small raised section to the north, and a river that flows down and exits to the west. The island is covered with 19 fruit trees bearing non-native fruit, all of which can be harvested and sold for a large profit on the player's island. The fruit will always be the player's "secondary" fruit, which will always be the same when coming to this island. Three rocks can be found on the lowest level, and one on the raised section.

Having a 10.15% encounter rate, this mystery island has the highest chance, statistically.

Scorpion island [ edit ]

A island with four triangular cliffs in each corner. The clearing in the center contains 7 rocks, all of which will dispense Bells when struck with a shovel or axe. Scorpions will generate en-masse within the clearing, making for a difficult but potentially very lucrative bug catching opportunity. If the player is bitten they will respawn back on the dock.

This island can only be visited a maximum of once per day and is only available during times the scorpion is available to catch.

Tarantula island [ edit ]

A small square island with a ring of water in the center. Tarantulas will generate en masse in the center, making for a difficult but potentially very lucrative bug catching opportunity. If the player is bitten they will respawn back on the dock. The ring of water in the center is narrow enough for the player to jump across without the need for a vaulting pole.

This island can only be visited a maximum of once per day, and only at times the tarantula is available to catch.

Rugged woodland [ edit ]

Chance: 1.5%

An island with several isolated raised sections and no rivers or ponds. Hardwood trees can be found all over the island. Only insects associated with trees will appear here.

Flat woodland [ edit ]

This island is almost identical to the Bamboo island, but with cedar trees instead of bamboo trees . Only insects associated with trees will appear here. Four rocks can be found in each corner of the island.

Curly river [ edit ]

The island features a tiny raised section in the north-east corner, with a winding river that doubles back on itself and exists to the east, resembling a horseshoe. Three rocks can be found on the lowest level, and one on the raised section.

Big fish [ edit ]

The island features a raised section in the north-east corner, with two waterfalls that empty into a ring-shaped river that exits to the west. The waters of this island contain only large fish. It has a slightly lower chance of appearing than the other island with big fish, and contains only regular flowers and insects.

Only large fish (i.e. fish of size 4, 5 or 6) appear on this island.

Trash [ edit ]

The island features a large curved raised section in the north to north-east, with smaller raised sections in the south-east and south-west corners. A hook-shaped river on the lowest level flows from the center of the island and exits to the west.

The waters on this island contain no fish, only trash and there is little else of value on this island. The only insects that spawn are water-related ones.

Dorsal-fin [ edit ]

Chance: 0.5%

An island where all dorsal-finned fish can be found in abundance in the island's waters. These fish include saw shark , whale shark , great white shark , hammerhead shark , ocean sunfish , and suckerfish . The island contains a squared ring of water creating a small islet in the center, which features a formation of cliffs that resemble a dorsal-fin. No fish will spawn in the surrounding water of the islet, not even when using fish bait .

Notably, this is the only location in the game that naturally features a fourth-tier of elevation. Towns cannot naturally generate with this, as they can only be created with the Island Designer Construction Permit .

Waterfalls [ edit ]

Chance: 10%

A three-tier island with a river and multiple waterfalls, which empties into the sea on the eastern side, and a holding pond on the western side. Flowers cover the entire island.

Gold Nuggets [ edit ]

Chance: 0.3%

An island containing a small rectangular raised section, with very large squared pond behind it. A tiny square island lies in the center containing a single rock that dispenses up to 8 gold nuggets . The only way to get to the center is to climb up the cliff, and down the back, then vault over the pond. Scorpions are the only insect to spawn on this island.

Rare Flowers [ edit ]

An island containing a large pond surrounded entirely by rare hybrid flowers. Valuable butterflies spawn in abundance amongst the flowers, and koi and goldfish can be fished from the pond. This island was accessible prior to version 1.2.0 .

Rare hybrid flowers can be found on the upper levels of the island, with only flower-related insects appearing. The waters of this island contain only large fish. This island was accessible prior to version 1.2.0.

Animal Crossing May Day maze 2022: How to complete the May Day tour and restart the maze explained

May Day , like Nature Day , is a limited-time event that takes place during spring in Animal Crossing: New Horizons .

To celebrate May Day, Tom Nook has built a special May Day maze out on one of the deserted islands. The Maze in 2022 might be familar if you were playing New Horizons back in 2020.

If you complete the May Day maze , there is an additional set of puzzles to unlock some Bell Vouchers, which this page can guide you to. If you get stuck, know you'll need to restart the maze and try again - which we'll also go through if you need it.

If you're returning to do the May Day event in 2022, then the maze may look familar to you. This is because it's the maze design from 2020!

Arriving on the special May Day island in New Horizons, you'll discover that it's less of a relaxing celebration and more of a maze.

To solve this maze, you not only have to discover the correct route through its twisting hedges, but also correct materials hidden around the island to create the tools you need to progress. We recommend picking up every time you see on your journey through the maze, so that you don't have to backtrack.

Be warned - below you'll find directions on how to solve the May Day maze, which does contain spoilers, so, if you want to solve it unassisted, then don't read on.

Your quest to solve the May Day maze begins by picking up the shovel and using it to dig up the bush to your left, which will allow you to pick up the fruit kept behind it. This fruit will also be the native fruit of your island.

Eat the fruit and use the shovel to scoop up the nearby tree into your inventory.

The May Day maze is full of holes that you need to jump over. To do this you simply need to walk up to them and then continue walking - your avatar will simply automatically jump over the hole for you.

The first hole you need to jump over is directly north of you and, following this one, you need to jump across the three holes in a row to your right. This will bring you to three pieces of wood that you need to pick up.

Continue following the path along, jumping over the holes as you come across. Eventually you'll find yourself back in the centre of the maze, but this time you'll be above the three hole in a row.

Jump across the third and furthest hole first to collect some materials, before jumping back across.

Next, jump across the middle hole to find a second tree branch and a Worn Axe.

After gaining these items, you need to jump back across the hole and retrace your steps to the west, until you reach a tree in the top north-western corner.

Here you need to chop down this tree using your Worn Axe, which will break it, and use the shovel to remove the tree stump. Grab the tree branch and the two pieces of fruit that you gain access to, before heading back to the centre of the maze.

Finally, you can jump across the first hole out of the three-in-a-row and take the westerly path it puts you on.

You'll reach a rock that you need to break. To do this eat one of your pieces of fruit by selecting it in your inventory and then choosing the option eat. Now all you have to do is hit the rock with your shovel and it will shatter into pieces, allowing you to collect the iron nugget on the other side.

It's time to retrace your steps again! Head back to where you collect the three pieces of wood and you'll find another rock for you to smash.

Once the rock is destroyed, pick up the fruit and, if you don't already know them, the DIY recipes for the Flimsy Axe and Axe.

Continue down the pathway, until your way is blocked by another tree, which you can shovel up after eating your new piece of fruit.

This will grant you access to the DIY workbench, where you can use the materials you've gathered to make a Flimsy Axe, which can then be upgraded to an Axe.

We recommend that you now head back to the three-holes-in-a-row and jump across them, until you reach a tree. Chop this tree with your new axe and collect the fruit on the other side - you'll be wanting this fruit later.

After doing this, jump over the hole directly to the north of you and follow the path around until you are standing in front of the three-holes-in-a-row for the last time.

Jump across the first hole and follow the path till you reach another tree that you can chop down with your axe.

Doing this will grant you access to a new hole for you to jump across, which leads to the final piece of fruit that you need to collect and another hole to jump across.

This brings you to your final task within the maze - chopping down three trees in a row. Neither your axe or shovel will break, so feel free to destroy away. Don't consume any of your fruit - you're going to want it for later.

Congratulations! You've reached the end of the maze!

Reaching the end of the May Day maze in New Horizons will bring you to Rover the cat. You may recognise Rover from past Animal Crossing games, especially if you played the GameCube version where he's the first character you talk to.

Take the time to have a chat with Rover and he'll give you Rover's briefcase as a reward for solving the maze. If you recieved the briefcase last year, you'll earn Rover's picture instead.

You can earn further rewards by digging up the bush near Rover's campfire to access four Bell Vouchers. After doing this, dig up the bushes behind the tree that is also near the campfire, so that you can run around the left-hand side of the maze.

Once you reach the beginning of the maze, you'll find three rocks. Finally you can eat the three fruits you've been saving and destroy each of these rocks in turn to reach the additional five Bell Vouchers.

This brings you to a total of nine Bell Vouchers, which can be exchanged for 27,000 Bells.

With these last Bell Vouchers collected, you've also earned all the May Day events, meaning that it's time to leave this little island.

Dig up the two bushes located to your right, jump across the hole and shovel up the final bush, so that you can make your way back to Wilbur. He'll explain that you won't be able to return to this island, so definitely make sure that you've collected everything before you leave.

Your first stop upon returning to your island should be your post box. Inside you'll find that Dodo Airlines has mailed you both Rover's briefcase or Rover's picture and the Bell Vouchers you've earned.

May Day 2022 in New Horizons runs from Friday, April 29th to Saturday, May 7th . Time-wise it starts and ends at 5am on these days, which is the shared reset time for every island.

If you want to celebrate May Day, however, you must first ensure that you've downloaded the latest patch for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which you should be prompted to do when you start the game. And yes, even if you played last year you need to get the latest patch - as the maze solution is new.

To take part in the May Day celebrations in New Horizons you must first visit Residential Services and talk to Tom Nook.

He'll explain that he's got a special May Day special for you and tell you to head down to Dodo Airlines.

Once you get to the airport, talk to Orville and he'll say that there's a special May Day Ticket waiting for you.

If you want to take part in the May Day event, tell Orville that you want to fly and then select 'Use May Day Ticket.'

It's important to note that you can only partake in the May Day event once a year, so make sure you have the time to properly complete this activity. Orville will also take away your inventory as part of the event, but, don't worry, you'll get everything back once you return home.

What follows is the 2021 maze solution - which we'll keep in this page in case it's relevant for future years. Read the first section of this page for how to complete the 2022 Maze, which is the same maze used in 2020.

To begin, collect the Shovel, equip it, and dig up the hedge blocking the way to the fruit.

Eat the fruit, and you'll get the strength to dig up entire trees or smash rocks. Here, let's dig up the tree to the north.

Grab the two pieces of wood here, then go east, and pick up the two pieces of fruit at the end.

Now head west, past the entrance, and dig up the hedge. At the end is some wood and a recipe for the ladder.

Eat two pieces of fruit - use these to smash the rock to the north, and dig up the tree by going east and then back west.

Cover up the hole, then go south and pick up two pieces of fruit.

Go north, and don't smash the rock yet. To the west is a workbench. What we've now done is recovered the same amount of fruit we had before entering this area of the maze, but it's given us access to the workbench. That said, we don't have the resources yet to craft anything - so let's find all that now.

Go back east, and eat two pieces of fruit, allowing you to smash the rock and dig up the tree and collect a piece of fruit between them.

Eat this fruit as well, then go over the hole to the north and dig up another tree.

In this section, you'll find three pieces of wood - one to the south-west and two to the north - and a piece of fruit. Grab all of these.

Now, don't progress here just yet. Return to the workbench. We still need two pieces of wood for the Ladder - which we can grab by eating the fruit we just collected, smashing the rock, and going north. Now craft the Ladder at the workbench.

With the Ladder, use it to climb up the platform to the south, where you will get the Worn Axe.

Return back to the east, to the area with the three holes. Jump over the middle hole by going from right to left, and use the Worn Axe on the tree. It will break after this one use. You can now jump on the tree stump, and slide over.

Use the Ladder to scale the cliff here to get the two pieces of fruit.

Now return to the three holes, and leap over all three from south to north, to a tree. Eat a piece of fruit to dig up the tree, and use the shovel to also dig up the two hedges here. You can now use the ladder to reach Rover.

You are free to finish, but you may realise you have a piece of fruit left over. This is to help you get some optional Bell Vouchers - which are worth picking up as an additional reward.

To do this, head left down from the cliff with your Ladder, dig up the hedge, and grab the four Bell Vouchers to the south.

Head north and go west around the outside of the maze, until you see a rock blocking two pieces of fruit. Consume your single fruit for the rock, to get two in return.

Continue south round the outside of the maze, and you'll spot the remaining Bell Vouchers blocked behind three rocks. Do not eat your fruit and smash these - as you'll be one short, and unable to get the Vouchers beyond.

Instead, return to the workbench, and go north. There are two trees here, which you can use your fruit to dig up. Beyond them is a cliff with three pieces of fruit, which you can reach with your Ladder.

Now return back to the outside of the maze to the south west, and eat the three pieces of fruit to smash the three rocks, and get the Bell Vouchers.

We're now all done! Return to Rover now to complete the maze. If this is your first time, you'll receive a Briefcase. If you completed it last year, Rover will be delighted to see you again - and will post on your reward (which is - spoilers - a picture of Rover).

Kapp’n Boat Tours offer a new way to discover unique and mysterious islands from faraway in Animal Crossing: New Horizons — different from the mystery islands that Dodo Airline have been able to take you to since launch!

These brand new mysterious islands will often offer new special items that can’t be found on your own home island, like new types of flora such as vines and bushes. We suspect there might even be new types of fruits too, but that has yet to be confirmed.

Additionally, Kapp’n can take you to islands that of a different season or weather than your home island. For example, when your date is set to July in the Northern Hemisphere, you might visit an island that’s in Winter allowing you to catch different fish or bugs!

In fact, these out-of-season islands can even feature special seasonal materials like Snowflakes , or items from a different time of day like wishing for Star Fragments.

You can take a boat tour with Kapp’n in Animal Crossing: New Horizons by visiting your island’s Pier in the bottom left or bottom right of the map, depending on the layout.

Simply walk up to Kapp’n on the Pier and he’ll ask for you for a small fee of 1,000 Nook Miles currency per round-trip to a mysterious island! You don’t need to purchase Nook Miles Tickets for Kapp’n.

Note that you can unfortunately only set sail with Kapp’n for a mystery island once per in-game day . Of course, impatient players can time travel to get ahead if they desire.

Kapp’n Island Materials

While exploring the Mystery Islands that Kapp’n takes you to in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you may discover some new materials and plants you haven’t seen anywhere else! That’s because some very exciting new items have been introduced on Kapp’n Boat Tour Islands.

An extremely useful new type of item, Vines can be found on Kapp’n Islands and can be placed on your island’s cliffs to climb up them — essentially as a makeshift ladder that looks much cooler!

Additionally, there are many new DIY Recipes in Version 2.0 that require Vines as a crafting material to create items — check out every new recipe here .

Glowing Moss

Perfect for night-time decoration, Glowing Moss is a new type of plant that can be found on Kapp’n Islands somewhat similar to weeds and flowers. Unlike other plants though, the Glowing Moss features a subtle glow during the evening making for a great night-time effect!

Just like with Vines, there new DIY Recipes in Version 2.0 that require Glowing Moss as a crafting material to create items — check out every new recipe here .

Plumeria Bushes

A new type of bush called Plumeria can be found on Kapp’n Islands in two different Pink and White color options! In the Northern Hemisphere, they bloom in season from June 1st to September 20th. Learn more about Bushes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons here.

Kapp’n Boat Tour Islands

There are many different mysterious islands you can visit by taking a Kapp’n Boat Tour in Animal Crossing: New Horizons Version 2.0! We’re beginning to research all of them and will list them below as we do.

While the exact contents of each island can vary, we’ve generally found that a Gyroid Fragment is buried in the ground every time.

Vine & Glowing Moss Island

On this special island seen during the Animal Crossing Direct, many brand new materials can be collected including Vines, Glowing Moss, and Plumeria Bushes.

Bell Trees Island

On this unique island, you can find multiple Money Trees containing bags of 1,000 Bells each on them. Simply shake the trees to get your free Bells!

Vegetable Farm Islands

There are multiple different islands that can be discovered with abandoned farms on them. As part of these farms, you can find all of the of the new vegetable crops in Version 2.0 including Carrots, Wheat, Sugarcane, Tomatoes, Potatoes, and Pumpkins.

Star Fragment Island

On this dazzling island, beautiful shooting stars will race across the sky! Star Fragments can be found all over the land including on the beach and even inside of Rocks if you smash them with a shovel. Be sure to check the beach for an appropriate DIY Crafting recipe in a message bottle too!

Seasonal Islands

There are multiple different islands covering each major season in Animal Crossing: New Horizons! On these islands, you can find both the exclusive seasonal materials and crafting recipes of seasons including Spring Cherry Blossoms, Summer, Autumn, Winter, and more.

The season roll on Animal Crossing New Horizons for Nintendo Switch. Brings new twists to seasonal events. There are plenty of things to look forward to on your island in Animal Crossing New Horizons May update. Welcome to ACNH May update guide 2022, we'll discuss all the different events, items, crafting materials, DIY recipes, and critters that can be expected.

With April over the third time since the launch of Animal Crossing New Horizons, we are heading into May and about to see a bunch of changes around the island. As always, there are not only some minor adjustments to seasonal recipes, island aesthetics, but also brand new ACNH May events and items. In May, players from all regions will see a slight shift in the types of weather and weather phenomena. For players in the Northern Hemisphere might seize the final month of spring, therefore, it’s the last chance to see thin clouds in the sky. On the other hand, players in the Southern Hemisphere could see seize the shift of seasons with the end of fall and the start of winter in the final week of May.

ACNH May Events & Items 2022

Thanks to the Animal Crossing May update that introduced some refreshed events to celebrate. Both northern and southern hemispheres have new seasonal holidays to look forward to along with some exclusive limited-time  Animal Crossing New Horizons items .

Start Date: May 1 - May 7

Items: May Day Ticket, Rover's Brief Case

Starting on April 29 and running until May 7 is the ACNH May Day event. Over the course of these days, you can use a special ticket at the airport to participate in an exclusive island tour maze, featuring the character Rover. You can only do this once, but you're rewarded with bell vouchers and a picture of Rover for your completion of the event.

International Museum Day

Start Date: May 18 - May 31

Items: Bug, Fish, and Fossil Stamps

Tour the gorgeous museum with the ACNH International Museum Day event. Blathers has set up various stamps to collect around all four exhibits of the museum that you can complete every day from May 18 to May 31. Your reward for finding all the stamps in each exhibit is a plaque for bugs, fish, fossils, and artwork.

ACNH Seasonal Events & Items 2022

Children's Day

Start Date: April 28 - May 5

Items: Carp Streamer, Newspaper Helmet 

Children's Day in Japan takes place from April 28 to May 5 and it comes with a couple of seasonal items as well. Both newsprint helmet and carp banner can be purchased with  ACNH bells .

Cheese Rolling Day

Start Date: May 22 - May 31

Items: Double Gloucester, Cheese 

In the city of Gloucester is an annual event where people chase a wheel of cheese down a hill, in tribute to this Nintendo has added a double Gloucester cheese item for decorating your island between the days of May 22 and May 31. 

Mother’s Day

Start Date: May 1 - May 31

Items: Thank-You Mom Mug, Carnation 

Throughout the entire month of May, you can pick up some carnations from nook shopping in celebration of Mother's Day in older Animal Crossing games. You used to be able to plant carnations as actual flowers, but these are merely vanity, it seems. Mother's Day starts on May 1 through to May 31.

ACNH May Seasonal Crafting 2022

Even though May is a brand-new season in Animal Crossing New Horizons. Some players do see a shift in seasonal crafting materials that spawn around the island. Players in the Northern Hemisphere will be glad to know there are no significant changes, with young bamboo still spawning for another month. These materials can be used to craft young spring bamboo recipes that founded in balloons, including the basket pack, pan flute, bamboo wand among others. Players in the Southern Hemisphere, not only they can continue to find acorns and pine corns, but several season materials including mushrooms and maple leaves begin spawning.

ACNH May DIY Recipes 2022

Mushroom will begin to spawn early on May 1 and spawn for the entire month. These include elegant mushrooms, flat mushrooms, round mushrooms, skinny mushrooms, and rare mushrooms. All of these can be used to craft seasonal recipes including mush partition, mush parasol, etc.

In Animal Crossing New Horizons, there are a total of 44 collectible fish available on May, 8 new fish begin to spawn and 3 fish will stop spawning after this month is over. At the same time, you can catch 84 of the total bugs, there are 8 new bugs available and only 1 bug is leaving. 22 deep-sea creatures are available in May, that’s 5 new ones from last month but with 3 benthic creatures leaving.

ACNH May Island Aesthetic 2022

In Animal Crossing New Horizons May Update 2022, there are maple leaves floating around, the shift in the types of cloud might also see bushes bloom as well. In the northern hemisphere, pink and white azalea bushes continue to bloom until the end of May. However, orange and yellow tea olives start flowering in the southern hemisphere in flavor of holly bush blooming entire winter. Holly Bush will continue to bloom from May 1 for around 6 weeks. Furthermore, certain decorations seen at the Nook’s Cranny will change too as winter starts in the southern hemisphere before the end of May.

Animal Crossing Island Tour ♥ Spring 2022

Is anybody even playing Animal Crossing anymore? because I still am! Despite no more updates I’m still enjoying playing Animal Crossing. I mean I’ve been playing Animal Crossing since the GameCube days, before game updates and downloaded content. Games are meant to be played and enjoyed and that is what New Horizons is doing for me. I still enjoy it and when I get bored I play another game and come back to my island when I’m tempted to redecorate Lavendula . I wanted to share some of my favorite spots on Lavendula with you all, hopefully you’ll be inspired to play New Horizons again after this post! I always forget to write down all the codes I use. In my past island tours , I’ve tried to write down my codes but honestly when I find a bunch of ACNH codes I love I just screenshot, use the codes, and throw away the screenshots, sorry! I will say that all of the codes are from other creators and I didn’t make any of them. I’m still happily playing, even though the community is much more quiet these days. I’m about halfway finished with redecorating my island! Can’t wait to visit Lavendula via Dream Address later today!

I was playing daily until I downloaded Cozy Grove and Overcooked 2 and now I haven’t touched ACNH in a week ? but I should really get back to it and start decorating for Summer. I hope you enjoy your visit to Lavendula! ♥

I Closed the Browser. Can I Recover My Files?

Unfortunately, all files are deleted once you close your browser.

If you've already completed your files, you will still have access to its URL until 2 days you created it.

Why Isn't the Poster or Trailer Showing Up?

Make sure you are logged in to the account you made the file with.

If you still can't find your file, it may have expired (past 2 days since screation) or was deleted when you created a new poster or trailer.

Danny Trejo’s favourite video game is absolutely not what you’d expect

It’s rare these days to see wholesome content on Twitter, but yesterday we were surprised and delighted to see actor Danny Trejo tweet about his favourite game. And that favourite game is not at all what we’d expect it to be. Something big and loud and shooty, we’d have thought. But no. Danny Trejo’s favourite video game is Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

We cannot overstate the joy we feel when we picture Mr Trejo selling his turnips on a Sunday morning, or gathering apples from a tree. Does he feel the same way about Tom Nook as the rest of us? Does he enjoy listening to the music of K.K Slider on an evening? We have so many questions, and the prospective answers are making us grin.

Danny’s no stranger to video games. While he hasn’t tweeted about them all that much, he has starred in them, along with advertising campaigns for them. He was in an ad for Evil West back in 2022 and, amongst others, he’s provided voicework for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Crime Boss: Rockay City, Fallout: New Vegas and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Really, though, Danny loving Animal Crossing: New Horizons isn’t that much of a surprise. Back in 2020, shortly after the game’s launch, he shared a tour of his New Horizons Island with The Washington Post . There, it was revealed that it was actually his son Theo who got him hooked on the game. We’re just happy that, four years later, he’s still finding joy in hanging with those cute animals. Wholesome AF.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure is taking up Animal Crossing's mantle, but that's tougher than you'd think: "we've almost gotten to the point where cozy games are overused"

"In some ways we've grown what it means to be a cozy game with our audience." Chelsea Howe, chief product officer on Hello Kitty Island Adventure , is keen to emphasize that there's more to this game than just Animal Crossing with Sanrio characters. Players looking for an alternative to New Horizons should find they "get their needs met," but a licensed, open-world twist on the life sim formula, with all the jumping, climbing, and exploration that includes means that new players are finding their way in too. And that could have a substantial impact on the entire cosy games trend.

Speaking to GamesRadar+ ahead of the announcement that Hello Kitty Island Adventure would be freed from its Apple Arcade exclusivity and make the multiplatform jump to PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch, Howe acknowledges how this part of the industry has changed in just a few years: "It's really interesting. We've almost gotten to the point where cozy is overused." For Howe, that's a positive - "as a woman in game development, what I read from that is that traditionally feminine motivations are so acknowledged that it's just a given in half the games that are coming out now."

The cozy games trend is nothing new. The likes of The Sims, Animal Crossing, and Harvest Moon, arguably the backbone of this movement, are decades old. The term began to pick up steam through the 2010s before it exploded in popularity in the wake of New Horizons. There are hundreds of games under Steam's 'Cozy' tag, and while the vast majority of them launched in the past couple of years, outliers like 2019's A Short Hike or 2020's Spiritfarer are important milestones in the trend.

Part of that ever-increasing popularity, Howe admits, lies in the fact that it's hard to pin down exactly what a cozy game is: "What I've found is that a lot of people argue about the definition of cozy games." Overall, she says that there's an expectation that aggressive combat or twitchy reaction won't be part of the experience, and that rather than any ambiguity causing problems, it's actually "been great to see the definition of cozy expand to contain more additional motivations, like exploration, like mastery, like inventory management. These aren't just dollhouse games anymore."

But as 'cozy' spreads into more genres, draws in more players, and covers more of those additional motivations, is there a point at which it ceases to mean anything as a term? Is it just a marketing buzzword intended to appeal to a specific type of player? Does a game that tackles tougher themes cease to be cozy? For Howe, the answer to all of those questions is no, because "the way I define coziness is about safety."

"I see that happening a little bit less," she says when I ask her if it's irresponsible to simple throw a 'cozy' logo into the mix as a marketing ploy, "just because I think that the people who go in to make a cozy game tend to be a little bit more aware of issues around psychological safety and all the discussions that are in that realm." Throughout our conversation, she points to Wylde Flowers , a mystical farming sim with obvious notes of Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon, where a major, early story arc deals with the loss of the character's grandmother.

"I do think Wylde Flowers is an example of [difficult themes] being done extraordinarily well. I don't think I've seen other games handle deep or potentially traumatic themes in a way that was as caring." We discuss how personal experiences of something like grief might push a potential player away, but she says that Wylde Flowers was "so good at nurturing you and giving you a community to feel those emotions that it felt deeply safe. There are hard things in the world, but that's reality, and that's us as humans. There are parts of me that are angry and that are hurt and that are grieving."

There are plenty of cozy games that are prepared to be deliberately, entirely softer - Howe's "dollhouse games." But avoiding the instinct to avoid the more difficult things, she says, can be key to making something even cozier. Leaving the harder stuff out leads to "a certain superficiality or emptiness" which, "long-term, doesn't necessarily provide the richness that'll feed people for months or years." By contrast, tackling those ideas, head-on but with that safety net behind the player, "is almost more nurturing than something that intentionally decides to be sugar floss."

Considering Hello Kitty up in this regard might seem antithetical. This is, after all, a figure often held up as one of the most saccharine characters of all time. But Island Adventure is a game intended to be played for a long time, to have that same "richness" that encourages players to keep coming back day after day. Perhaps Hello Kitty herself doesn't embody that depth, but look further into the game's roster of Sanrio characters and you start to find it; in Gudetama's ennui, or Aggretsuko's anger. Whether it can genuinely fill the hole left by Animal Crossing: New Horizons remains to be seen, but as the cozy game trend continues to grow in the wake on Nintendo's phenomenon, it's clear that even Island Adventure's devs aren't prepared to rest purely on the strength of their IP.
