The first introduction is made by the main quest chain, where you have to buy one. It can be placed at any wall in any room. If you stand in front of the Calendar, press E key to open it.
If a VIP is visiting your tavern, you get a popup message and the guest is marked with a star above its head.

Description of the flag, no flag until 1998, coat of arms.

- Official city hall website page about the city coat of arms, both greater and lesser versions. Reported by Jorge Candeias
I just noticed something new in front of the Cheboksary City Hall: three flag poles, of a reasonable three-storey height ( i.e. , much shorter than the huge nearby pole in front of the Republic Presidency) flying the Russian tricolor , the Chuvash republic flag , and… the Cheboksary city flag! Yes, the one I thought it didn’t exist ! It must be very recent, this flag, since it was lacking in the august celebrations of the 530 anniversary of the city — an occasion when the Russian and Chuvash flags and colors are shown ad libitum . I’m afraid the design is neither to imaginative nor good looking: just the city greater arms on a white background. Since the greater arms are the usual shield surrounded by a yellow hop wreath and with the three suns crown and a scroll in red fimbriated yellow , you may imagine that it doesn't look to great. I’ve been to Ĉeboksary / Ŝupaŝkar in February 1996 and in February-March 1997. No city flags were visible nor did common citizens remember such a flag ever being hoisted. However, the city’s coat of arms is a very common motif in urban decorations and tourist memorabilia. António Martins , 09 Sep 1997
During the city’s 528th jubilee in 1997.08.17, it was clearer than ever that Ĉeboksary / Ŝupaŝkar does not have a flag. There were a lot of Russian and Chuvash flags, and the city arms was depicted in posters, banners and street decorations — but no city flag. António Martins , 09 Sep 1997
The Coat of Arms of Ĉeboksary / Ŝupaŝkar, capital of Chuvashia, is azure charged with five flying sinister geese argent saltire, chief gules separated by a 13 teeth serration fimbriated argent and charged with three traditional Chuvash style hearts (emerging from the 3rd, 7th and 11th tooth) argent, the middle one filled with azure and charged with the inscription "1469" argent and the other two void. António Martins , 14 May 1997
In often depictions it lacks the date, the blue filling of the central “heart”, or have additional decorations on the white fimbriations. As far as I can tell, however, this is the “official” form. The blue field of this coat of arms tends to came in every shade, from lightest to darkest. I was advised to take as “official” the relief large coat of arms over the City Hall’s main door. This looks like a quite serious heraldry work (the silver was real silver(y), not white!) and the blue shade was, well…, blue. António Martins , 09 Sep 1997

Understand [ edit ]
Approximately 60 percent of the people of Chuvashia live in urban areas. The largest city is the capital, Cheboksary , followed by its nearby satellite city, Novocheboksarsk .
Within Chuvashia, the Chuvash and Russian nationalities make up about 67 and 27 percent of the population, respectively, giving the region a rich multi-ethnic character. The Chuvash are descendants of the Bulgars who migrated to this region and are Orthodox Christian; they are very closely related with their Muslim Tatar neighbors.
Talk [ edit ]
Russian is the language of business and the lingua franca among all residents—you will have no problem getting around if you speak Russian. The Chuvash language, however, is spoken by many, especially in the country. The Chuvash language belongs to the Oghur subgroup of the Turkic language group.
There is also a resurgence of native Chuvash pride and many people are looking back to their Chuvash roots, exploring the culture and heritage and relearning the language. Most building signs, road signs, and announcements are in both Russian and Chuvash.

By plane [ edit ].
Cheboksary airport receives regularly scheduled flights from Moscow and other destinations. Cheboksary is about a two-hour drive from Nizhny Novgorod , a city with international air connections through Lufthansa.
By train [ edit ]
The railway network is developed and accessible all year. One of the largest railway junctions of Russia, Kanash , is in the center of the Republic. Via Kanash, the rail system connects the major towns in Chuvashia with the major industrial centers of Eastern Siberia, the Urals , and Moscow . Express trains present a low-cost, comfortable way to travel. Express trains from Moscow are available everyday, and the easy overnight journey is approximately 14 hours.
By car [ edit ]
Autos, trucks, and buses carry the majority of transportation, as the Republic ranks fourth in highway density in all of Russia. Cheboksary is on one of the main highways of the Russian Federation leading from Moscow to the industrial areas of Tartarstan , the Southern Urals, and Siberia . Furthermore, a bridge across the Volga to the north connects the republic to the developed Ural-Provolzhye and Kirov Oblast regions. To the south, highways connect Chuvashia with Saratov and Volgograd .
By ship [ edit ]
With the Volga and Sura Rivers, Chuvashia is connected to a national and international water network. To the south, Volgograd , Rostov-on-Don , Astrakhan , the Caspian Sea, and Black Sea are directly reachable. To the west, the Volga river connects Cheboksary with Nizhny Novgorod , Yaroslavl , Moscow , and the northern regions of Russia. By using river-sea vessels, it is possible to get from Chuvash riverports all the way to Saint Petersburg , Novorossiysk (on the Black Sea), Astrakhan , and ports on the Danube river. However, the river is frozen from December through April.
Get around [ edit ]
Public transport [ edit ].
Extensive public and private bus systems connect all towns within the republic with each other and with surrounding regions.
Cheboksary is covered by an extensive system of trolleybuses, autobuses, and minibuses. There are several official taxi agencies, but also many so-called "gipsy" taxis, which are privately owned. The latter can be a convenient way of getting around, but also potentially dangerous and thus not recommended. Official taxis cost less than two dollars for travel between most points within the city.
By boat [ edit ]
Cheboksary is a frequent stop on many boat tours that travel up and down the Volga. A boat tour to the major cities along the Volga is highly recommended.

Ask someone in Russia about Chuvashia and they will likely respond with a comment about beer, as the republic has been a center of hops-growing and beer-brewing for hundreds of years. There are two beer manufacturers in Cheboksary, Buket Chuvashi and Yantar , as well as Russia's only beer museum.
