What people love about luxury tours in australia.

Great tour, would use this group any time, friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, flexible and very sociable
This was our first time to Australia and we saw & learned so much in four packed days. Pierre was amazing, a non-stop stream of information on just about anything. I was constantly asking questions and never had one that he didn’t have the answer for. For example, while on the road between stops, I asked about the indigenous peoples of Australia and got a half hour thorough (and sometimes sad) lecture on their history. The hotels and included meals were first rate. Highly recommended.
A lot of variety and places not on the typical tour route. Guides were fun and added to the enjoyment of our trip.

Vibrant Cities

Explore uniquely cool Melbourne & sunny Sydney

Vibrant cities, wonderful wines, outback adventure and beautiful beaches

Encompassing gleaming coastal cities and the oldest continuous culture on earth, famous beaches, iconic endemic wildlife with a vast landscape of red desert, alpine mountains, rainforests and coral reefs ripe for exploration.

There’s an innovative food scene, prestigious wine industry, vibrant art and a warm, laid-back people to welcome you. While not lagging far behind the United States in scale, Australia has a population of just 23 million who mostly live around the idyllic coast in modern cities such as Sydney , Melbourne , Brisbane  and Perth , leaving the immense centre as wilderness, affectionately known as the Outback .

There’s also the beautiful and remote Top End  sitting next to the equally remarkable state of Western Australia , unique islands such as Tasmania , Kangaroo Island and the white sanded Whitsundays that sit between the northeast coast of Queensland and the rich waters of the Great Barrier Reef .

Blessed with sunshine, it is a place where as much time as possible is spent outdoors, whether surfing, fishing, boating or barbecuing, and there’s no better way to experience Australia than by joining in.

And then there’s Australia’s wildlife, a long geographic period of isolation giving rise to a unique species – marsupials such as koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats and bandicoots and egg-laying mammals, like the platypus – along with huge saltwater crocodiles, fearsome snakes and some of the best marine wildlife watching opportunities in the world.

Explore some of the breathtakingly beautiful beaches and remote reefs in Western Australia

Seek out kangaroos, koalas, sea lions and numerous bird species on the natural haven of Kangaroo Island

Discover the spectacular underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Down South to Kangaroo Island, providing you a chance to see Australias endemic wildlife in the wild and Tasmania, for its rugged mountainous beauty, then journeying into Outback where you will find yourself surrounded by the scorched red earth and blanketed by the huge blue sky.

When to visit

With Australia’s immense size and diverse landscapes, different regions are best visited at different times of year, and no matter the month, somewhere will be in its prime. The southern coastal cities are wonderful all year round, if a touch cooler in winter between May and August. This, however, is the ideal time to explore the Red Centre, Queensland, Great Barrier Reef and North West, areas which are very hot and humid in the summer.

An incredible one-in-a-lifetime experience!! Thank you Jacada Travel for putting together the best trip ever!!

The trips was an amazing overview of Australia! We traveled to Sydney, Uluru, the Daintree Rainforest and Lizard Island. Each place had uniqueness that made it memorable. We especially loved the glamping in Uluru and the "private jet" to Lizard Island. The accommodations were fantastic and the care that Jacada offered made this trip quite special.

Ellie has done a fabulous job listening to our interests, needs, wants and desires in customizing our Australia/Tasmania/New Zealand itinerary. She has put together a spectacular trip for us. I would highly recommend Ellie and Jacada for your travel needs.

Ellie and Gita planned an amazing adventure in Australia for my sister and I. The accommodations were great, all transfers seamless, and the itinerary covered everything I wanted. The attention to detail was exceptional. Thank you.

The experience was great in that everything was handled down to the last detail. The accommodations were 5 Star, and the experiences were some that we would not have known about on our own.

Luxury Vacations & Tours in Australia

Why should you travel to australia on a luxury vacation with us.

Back in 2003, the earliest idea of Black Tomato was dreamt up. And it happened on an Australian beach. You could say that it inspired everything we’ve done since.

The beach? Wineglass Bay, of course. These days, you’re more likely to find our founders on Lizard Island – with its 24 private beaches, all within diving distance of the Great Barrier Reef. When we got the company rolling, we decided to never lose sight of Australia. With over 15 years of contacts, local knowledge, and friendships, our bespoke itineraries to this golden, rich and rewarding country can truly deliver anything; from a chef’s-table tour of the picturesque Yarra Valley, blending your own wines under the tutelage of a Chief Winemaker, an exclusive ‘just you’ retreat at Kangaroo Island, or a private-plane transfer low over the bush toward a private camp in the Bamurru Plains. Anything is possible on a luxury tour of Australia.

LUXURY TRAVEL IN AUSTRALIA

Koala on eucalyptus tree in Australia

The Great Barrier Reef – a medley of vivid colors and dynamic wildlife that’s completely unique to Australia. Consisting of over 900 islands, there’s more than one way to experience this world wonder. Observe it from the air, opt for scuba diving, or embark on a guided snorkelling tour; the choice is yours. One more question though: can we still call it a sliver of paradise if it can be seen from space?

SNORKEL THE GREAT BARRIER REEF

Turtle searches corals on the Great Barrier Reef

Easily one of the most recognizable skylines in the world, Sydney is an oceanside city that puts others to shame. While it’s worth its weight in gold with dazzling galleries, upbeat beaches, and boutique restaurants, it’s the Opera House and the Harbor Bridge that steal the spotlight. For a heart-pounding experience, climb the Harbor Bridge for 360-degree views of the city.

WALK THE HARBOUR BRIDGE

Sydney harbour at sunset

Our best piece of advice? Jump in a car and prepare to witness the vista that tops all vistas. One of the most popular road trips in the word, the Great Ocean Road is home to rock-stacks protruding from the sea, rolling hills, and dramatic crashing waves. If we coined the term ‘open-road tranquility’, a breezy day on a journey to the 12 Apostles would be the accompanying photo.

Sydney & the blue mountains

Explore Australia’s iconic capital and the incredible range to its West.

Sparkling, sophisticated and confident, Sydney – backed by the range of the awe-inspiring Blue Mountains – embodies everything that is glamorous and modern about Australia. With a coastal path that stretches from Bondi to Coogee, the bustling harbor, the iconic Opera House, and trendy Newtown (with the eucalyptus forests, waterfalls and peaks of the National Park behind you), Sydney has much to offer.

The great barrier reef

It’s more than just a reef. It’s 1,900 reefs.

It is easy to throw out a cliche about the reef, that it is “out of this world.” But that wouldn’t be true. Here, from Lady Elliot Island and to the edge of New Guinea (some 2,300km away), the reef is an incredible and intricate labyrinth of cays, ribbons, islets, canyons and – of course – nature. You can sleep on private islands within diving distance of it, or else take an expert-led tour of it by day. The nearby islands of the Whitsundays & Cairns offer an exotic stepping stone into this earthly paradise.

Melbourne (and beyond)

Art, culture and cuisine on Australia’s southeastern coast.

A theme emerges. That each great Australian city is paired with an incredible hinterland. For Melbourne, in Australia’s southeast, it’s the Mornington Peninsula and the Yarra Valley wine region). Trendy, easygoing, fun, Melbourne is all about plazas, bars, art and restaurants. In the Yarra Valley, we’ll pair you with expert sommeliers and local chefs to truly taste and sample the land that feeds this city.

Private and Luxury Tours of Australia

Set the stage for an enthralling Australia vacation by visiting its marvelous cosmopolitan cities. Walk around Sydney’s spectacular harbor, fronted by iconic wonders like the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Melbourne with its arts precinct, sporting venues, and wonderful cafés has been repeatedly voted one of the world’s most livable cities. Sitting along the River Torrens is Adelaide, a city that embodies the laid-back charm of Australia, and offers excellent wining and dining.

Nearby is the heart of Australia’s world-renowned winegrowing region: Barossa Valley. Wineries, award-winning restaurants, and boutique breweries welcome visitors to discover the region’s wines, winemaking, local produce, farming history, and the ubiquitous Aussie barbie (barbeque).

Australia’s native animals, found nowhere else on Earth, are reason enough to explore this island nation. The striking landscapes of Kangaroo Island in South Australia not only house its namesake animal, but also koalas, and colonies of pelicans, penguins, sea lions, and dolphins.

Head north to Brisbane, and then to Cairns, to access lush natural areas, and stunning coastlines—from the Sunshine Coast to the Great Barrier Reef. Visit K’gari (Fraser Island), the largest sand island in the world, and Hervey Bay where humpback whales and dolphin watching is a sheer delight between July and November. At Daintree National Park, hike through the one of the oldest surviving rainforests of the world. Tropical islands dot the Great Barrier Reef area, with glorious white-sand beaches touching turquoise-blue waters packed with coral reefs and colorful fish. It’s warm enough to snorkel and swim here all year-round.

Australia is perfect for a classic road trip along stunning coastal roads like the Great Ocean Road or the west coast drive from Perth to Exmouth. Or drive to Darwin in the north, an ideal gateway to the Australian Outback. Experience life on working cattle homestead, the luxurious Bullo River Station, where pristine landscapes meet native wildlife including wallabies, dingoes, and crocodiles.

It’s a long way to Australia, and even further to the millennia-old monolith of Uluru or Ayers Rock, rising up from the desert in the heart of Aboriginal Australia. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a stunning area with waterholes, natural springs, and native art. It is best seen at sunset from atop a dune, while enjoying an alfresco meal accompanied by a didgeridoo performance.

Make the best of your trip to this country Down Under, by consulting an Enchanting Travels consultant. In true Australian spirit of looking out for one’s mates, we’ll look after you at every stage, from planning to execution, of this special holiday in Australia.

FOR THOSE WHO DELVE DEEPER:

Seasoned visitors or milestone celebrators who are interested in investing time to gain a thorough understanding of the various diverse neighborhoods, or a very specific local topic of interest such as an insider perspective on the arts, gastronomy, and history. Often includes a half day exploring the city, a taste of authentic cuisine, and then the other half of the day enjoying a private excursion or attraction. May include introductions to local subject matter experts, or the planning of accompanying special celebratory events.

Included:  Private knowledgeable guide, private luxury vehicle, luxury exploration of specified attractions and/or landmarks focusing on personalised areas of interest.

TYPICAL DURATION: 4 hours / 8 hours

FOR COMPREHENSIVE EXPLORERS

Travelers who recognise the engaging options within, and beyond, their destination city and wish to take their time thoroughly exploring the alternatives. These full, and multi-day excursions can be as creative, adventuresome, and exploratory as you envision. Often multi-generational families, bucket-listers or corporate incentive groups who desire an exhaustive and meticulous plan for meaningful discovery.

Included:  Private knowledgeable guide, private luxury vehicle, exploration of key landmarks, essential attractions and personalised areas of interest. An intensive engagement, meal(s), thorough city overview and outlying regional exploration.

TYPICAL DURATION: 8 – 10 hours

null

Step 1 – Learning more about you

It begins with a conversation. Tell us when you’re coming, who your travel companions are, and what brings you to our lovely city. Share your hopes for your experience, the times you have available, and your budget expectations. Through further conversations we’ll delve deeper into what makes you tick so we can manage your expectations and customize your itinerary.

Step 2 – Meeting your budget, time and experience expectations

Starting rates are competitively valued for a half-day (4 continuous hours), and for a full-day (8 continuous hours) including a custom itinerary, and an experienced fully qualified guide to host you the entire time in luxury transportation. All incidentals are quoted separately, and gratuities are at your discretion. Larger groups require a larger vehicle(s) thus an increase in rate. Corporate incentive and multi-day excursions rates are quoted on an individual basis. Premiums for national holidays, peak seasonal events or late nights may apply.

Step 3 – Confirming your plans

We’ll ask for a $100 non-refundable deposit (or 50% depending on the scope and scale of the project) so we can get started hand-crafting your unique itinerary. This will be outlined at time of quotation. We’ll process the balance of payment 30 days prior to your arrival.

Step 4 – Finalising the details

You’ll be presented with an overview & budget that is then massaged until you’re fully satisfied with the timing of your day. To ensure your plan is unique and isn’t duplicated by anyone else, many of the individual elements will remain a surprise until you arrive (names of venues, etc.).Your budget will include a flat rate for our time and transportation, as well as an estimate of the anticipated extra costs for meals, entrance fees, etc. so you know what to expect. Alternatively we can include these in the cost of the rate so you don’t have to worry about paying for anything on the day.

Step 5 – Welcome!

You will be picked up in a luxury vehicle suitable to the size of your group where we will accompany you throughout your experience, acting as your personal guides to the city. Remember that every itinerary we design is fully customized and unique to your needs. You have the flexibility to start and end when and where you desire, see what you want to see at your own comfortable pace, and ask as many questions as you like via intelligent, personable conversations.

“Worked with Australian Luxury Escapes for 2 different tours: one in Sydney, one in Daintree. In both cases, the cars were clean and comfortable, on time, and the logistics were excellent (lunch locations were good for both). And in both cases the guides were interesting: Bob in Sydney provided some great history of the city during an interesting drive on a busy sunny Sunday that caused some traffic jams; Michelle in Port Douglas/Daintree was EXCEPTIONAL in terms of her information as well as making sure we got to see things without huge crowds. (For example, she skipped one stop early in the day because there was a big bus there, and we caught it later in the day on the way back. We were extremely grateful!)”

“Our first trip with this company was to the Daintree Rainforest with tour guide Michelle. She had vast knowledge on the areas we visited and was very accommodating and offered great customer service. We even had a surprise trip where we hand-fed some Wallabies. It was a great day, a full day and one of our favourites during our 3 week visit to Australia. Our second trip was to Phillip Island which had a little bit of an edge as i proposed to my girlfriend on this trip. I contacted their head office asking for advice of good spots and if they were able to get some champagne and glasses for the moment (as i couldn’t get away from my gf to do this!) and they went above and beyond. Our tour guide Ian offered me advice and came up with a plan and after the proposal he magically appeared with bubbly and took some photos of the occasion which have been sent to us. All of this was with no extra cost. A restaurant we visited even gave us a glass of bubbly. The tour was great too, Ian again was full of knowledge and had plenty of little facts. We saw koalas and the penguin march but we also saw some penguins in the wild thanks to Ian’s knowledge. Thanks for helping me with my big moment and providing us with 2 unforgettable days”

“We felt compelled to share the following feedback from the Hitzig family. Thank you so much for taking such incredible care of them. They had nothing but amazing things to say about you!

Jeremy told us that the whole family loved you, and were really blown away by how much you cared. An example he cited for this was, at one point, out of the corner of his eye, Jeremy caught you holding one of the twin’s hands to make sure they crossed the street and made it safely. He said not only were you professional, you were also “just a good man who took really great care of us.”

They loved the Sydney restaurants, including all of the restaurants that you suggested for lunch (thank you). Regarding touring, they mentioned the zoo was a highlight for the whole family. They also loved the Sydney Opera Tour and said that was an example of when they really understood the value add (especially with children). They were really sad to leave you!”

“Grant, Hello, finally, from New York! Daniel and I just returned from our lengthy travels and are so happy to be back after a glorious summer in Sydney, Fiji, Portugal, and then Spain. We have been meaning to reach out to thank you many times over for your incredible service while we were in Sydney. Daniel and I both felt that our trip was immensely (and positively) impacted by your professionalism, amazing energy, knowledge of the city, and recommendations. We loved spending time exploring the city with you, and, thanks to you, we feel we experienced the best Sydney had to offer. We would absolutely recommend you to any of our friends and family who visit”.

You can move between the countries best wine regions , taking part in private tastings, intimate degustations, insightful cooking classes, and more. Taste premium semillon matched with individually garnished oysters at Brokenwood  in New South Wales’ Hunter Valley , take a journey through Western Australia’s Margaret River before embarking on a behind-the-scenes tour of Leeuwin Estate or indulge in a Prestige Experience, where you’ll be whisked away in a private helicopter over South Australia’s lush Barossa Valley before being dropped at St Hugo for a private tasting.

It’s not just Australia’s wine that deserves the attention. Around the country, you’ll find distilleries crafting world-class, creative spirits with a uniquely Australian twist.  Kangaroo Island Spirits  in  South Australia  distils their  Wild Gin  with native juniper foraged from the coast of the island. At  Archie Rose  in Sydney, you can blend your own  signature whisky  and bring home a bottle, as well as the cask it was matured in. Also worth sampling is the Archie Rose Vegemite gin.

‘Turned purple’: Six dead Bangkok hotel guests swallowed cyanide in apparent murder-suicide

Six people found dead in a luxury hotel room in Bangkok, Thailand, appear to have been poisoned, as authorities release photos of their teacups, which they say were laced with cyanide.

The bodies of two Americans and four Vietnamese nationals were found together in a room on the fifth floor of the five-star Grand Hyatt Erawan hotel on Tuesday evening.

The group, made up of three men and three women aged between 37 and 56, likely drank from tea and coffee cups laced with cyanide following a dispute linked to bad investments, Thai police said on Wednesday.

Photos released by police of the bloodless crime scene showed bodies scattered around the room among plates of untouched Thai food, and two thermos flasks and cups.

Initial examinations revealed the presence of cyanide in six cups, according to police.

“The mouths and nails on all the bodies turned purple, showing a lack of air could be a joint reason of the cause of the death,” forensic doctor Kornkiat Vongpaisarnsin, told a press conference at the Chulalongkorn University.

“We presume they all died from cyanide which causes a lack of air in some organs,” he added.

The drinks left in the hotel rooms where six bodies were found dead at a hotel in Bangkok. Picture: AFP.

Authorities initially said they were searching for a seventh person who was part of the hotel booking. But on Wednesday they dismissed this line of inquiry, saying they believe one of the dead people poisoned the others with the deadly fast-acting chemical cyanide.

“We are convinced that one of the six people found dead committed this crime,” said Noppasil Poonsawas, a deputy commander of Bangkok police.

A photo issued by Royal Thai Police shows food on a table inside the room where the six were found dead – the food was untouched. Picture: AAP

Chief of the Police Forensic Office Trairong Phiewphan said in a press conference that cyanide was found in mugs and cups in the hotel room and at least one of the blood samples collected from a deceased man had traces of the chemical.

“Cyanide was found in the liquid inside the teapot, in all six coffee cups,” Trairong said.

Photos of the drinks left in the room where six people were found dead allegedly due to poisoning were shown to media, during a press conference at Lumpini Police Station in Bangkok on July 17, 2024. Picture: AFP.

Deputy Metropolitan Police Commissioner Noppasin Poonsawat told reporters they believe one of the members of the group may have poisoned the five others.

That person, police said, had ordered the food and tea to the room and “looked under stress” when staff arrived.

Noppasin said from interviews with hotel staff, one of the members of the group was alone in the room when the food arrived and was later joined by the other guests.

He added that the incident was likely linked to a “personal matter” and not related to organised crime as interviews carried out with relatives of the dead indicated a dispute over debt.

“One of the relatives said one of the deceased was an investment agent and all (the deceased) invested, but the business was not going as expected. They made an appointment to discuss the matter in Thailand,” Noppasin said.

Two of the dead were found in the bedroom, another at the dining table, and police believe one member of the party tried to reach the door but fell before they were able to do so.

Tran Dinh Dung, the father of one of the victims, said his 37-year-old son was due to return to Vietnam last Sunday.

“I kept calling him but couldn’t get through so I was very worried, but I didn’t expect him to die in Thailand,” Dung said in an interview with Vietnam’s Thanh Nien newspaper.

“Phu’s mother has fainted countless times, she could not bear this shock,” he said.

Earlier, Metropolitan police commissioner Thiti Saengsawang said the guests had failed to check out, leading staff to make the grisly discovery.

The door was locked from the inside, luggage was found packed near the door and there were no signs of struggle, authorities said.

Pictures from the room showed coffee and tea, and a table full of food, with six meals and other side dishes. Most of the food was covered in cling wrap.

Thiti said the food appeared to be uneaten but the drinks were consumed, according to local media.

“We need to find out the motives,” Thiti said, adding that the deaths were not the result of suicide, but of a “killing”.

Tenacious D's remaining Australian concerts cancelled amid Trump joke controversy

Jack Black and Kyle Gass of Tenacious D play guitars. Black holds up the devil horns sign with his fingers.

Jack Black says he no longer feels it is "appropriate" to continue Tenacious D's tour following a controversial joke at the band's Sydney show on the weekend.

Black's bandmate Kyle Gass joked about the shooting of former president Donald Trump, which Black says he does not condone.

The band were scheduled to play Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide shows over the next week.

Jack Black, one half of the American comedy rock duo Tenacious D, says he no longer feels it is "appropriate" to continue the band's tour following a controversial joke by his bandmate Kyle Gass at the band's recent Sydney show.

"I was blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday," Black wrote in a statement posted on Instagram.

"I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form.

"After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold."

Black added he was grateful to the band's fans for their "support and understanding".

Tenacious D's Australian visit took a turn this week after video emerged of Gass making a controversial joke on stage at the second show of their tour.

At Sydney's ICC Theatre on Sunday night, Gass said, "Don't miss Trump next time" when Black asked if he had a birthday wish.

Gass's comment was made in relation to the attempted assassination of former US president Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania over the weekend.

The band earlier postponed Tuesday night's concert at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre just hours before doors were due to open, with no reason given for the cancellation at the time.

"Frontier Touring regret to advise that Tenacious D's concert tonight at Newcastle Entertainment Centre has been postponed," the tour promoters posted on Instagram this afternoon.

"Ticket holders are asked to hold onto their tickets until further information is available."

Some fans were reportedly already lining up at the venue when staff informed them the show would not be going ahead.

The joke has attracted a great amount of attention from international media as well as here in Australia.

Senator Ralph Babet today called for the band to be deported from Australia immediately.

"I call on the Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to join me in denouncing Tenacious D, Jack Black, and band member Kyle Gass, and I call on the Immigration Minister Andrew Giles to revoke their visas and deport them immediately," Senator Babet's statement reads.

"Anything less than a deportation is an endorsement of the shooting and the attempted assassination of Donald J. Trump."

The sold-out arena tour is Tenacious D's first Australian visit in over a decade.

The band were set to play concerts in Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide over the coming six days.

Jack Black cancels Tenacious D tour as Australia officials criticize Kyle Gass' Trump comment

By Caitlin O'Kane

July 17, 2024 / 12:32 PM EDT / CBS News

Actor Jack Black has canceled upcoming tour dates for Tenacious D after his bandmate, Kyle Gass, made a controversial comment about Donald Trump during a show in Australia — a comment that led one politician to call for the deportation of the comedy rock duo.

In a statement shared on social media, Black said he was blindsided by Gass' comment about the shooting at Trump's Butler, Pennsylvania, rally on Saturday. Trump survived the attack with a wound to his ear , but the assassination attempt killed  one person being killed and critically injured two others.

Gass made the controversial comment when he was presented with a birthday cake during their Sydney concert and was asked what his birthday wish was. "Don't miss Trump next time," he replies, according to videos from fans in the audience.

Black laughed at the joke on stage but later said he was blindsided by the comment. "I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form," Black said in a statement Tuesday.

Tenacious D In Concert - Charlotte, NC

"After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold," he said. "I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding."

Gass also apologized for the remark. "The line I improvised onstage Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous and a terrible mistake," he said Monday in a statement  on social media. "I don't condone violence of any kind, in any form, against anyone. What happened was a tragedy, and I'm incredibly sorry for my severe lack of judgment. I profoundly apologize to those I've let down and truly regret any pain I've caused."

Gass' agent parted ways with him after the comment, according to BBC News.

An Australian senator called for the deportation of Gass on Monday. "Tenacious D should be immediately removed from the country after wishing for the assassination of Donald Trump at their Sydney concert," Sen. Ralph Babet said in a statement.

Babet condemned the call for political violence, saying what Gass said was not a joke. "To advocate and or wish for the assassination of a president is egregious, disgusting, filthy, evil, and not acceptable in any way, shape or form," Babet said.

"Anything less than deportation is an endorsement of the shooting and attempted assassination of Donald J. Trump , the 45th and soon-to-be 47th President of the United States," said Babet, the only senator from the right-wing United Australia Party.

During the popular Australian radio show "Kyle and Jackie O," host Kyle Sandilands said Tenacious D was now banned from the show,  according to local news outlets.

After the shooting, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said in a statement that he was shocked by the event and relieved that Trump is safe.

"Let us be clear. The people at that event – the candidate, the crowd, the free press covering it – were participating in the democratic process. In Australia, as in the United States, the essence and the purpose of our democracies is that we can express our views, debate our disagreements and resolve our differences peacefully," said Albanese, a member of the center-left Australian Labor Party, adding that any act of violence is an affront to democracy that should be condemned.

Other comedians have previously been criticized for appearing to encourage violence against Trump. In 2017, Kathy Griffin released an image of a fake Trump head, severed from his body and dripping in blood.

Griffin apologized for the video, which nearly cost the comedian her career, with her tour canceled, CNN ending her job as New Year's Eve host alongside Anderson Cooper, being investigated and being added to a no-fly list.

Jack Black ends Tenacious D tour: What it means for sold-out Oct. 22 IU Auditorium show

In response to recent onstage comments made by his Tenacious D bandmate, Kyle Gass, regarding the attempted assassination of former president Donald Trump , Jack Black has released a statement saying he's canceling the remainder of the band's tour.

That would presumably include the handful of " Rock D Vote " shows scheduled for this fall, ahead of the presidential election — including a sold-out stop at Bloomington's IU Auditorium .

IU Auditorium and promoter MOKB Presents did not respond immediately to an IndyStar request for additional information about the status of the event.

From USA TODAY: Jack Black 'blindsided' by Kyle Gass' Trump shooting comment, ends Tenacious D tour

What did Kyle Gass say about Donald Trump?

In a video from a recent show in Sydney, Australia, Black is seen singing happy birthday to Gass onstage. When Gass was told to make a wish, he responded: "Don't miss Trump next time." The comment was met with applause from the crowd, and Black said, "Thank you."

The comment was in reference to a shooting the day before at the former president's rally in Pennsylvania, where one person was killed and two others were wounded in an assassination attempt. Trump was grazed by a bullet. Thomas Matthew Crooks , the 20-year-old gunman, was also killed.

Tenacious D tour put on hold

However, in a statement provided to USA TODAY , Black said he was "blindsided" by the comment.

"I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form," Black said. "After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold. I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding."

The band were expected to continue touring through Australia and New Zealand this summer and return to the United States this fall. They were also scheduled to do a handful of " Rock D Vote " shows, which would benefit the nonpartisan "Rock the Vote" organization ahead of November's presidential election. According to their website, all five of those shows had sold out.

Kyle Gass releases statement: 'I profoundly apologize'

Gass posted a statement to his Instagram page Tuesday apologizing for his comment.

"The line I improvised onstage Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous and a terrible mistake. I don't condone violence of any kind, in any form, against anyone. What happened was a tragedy, and I'm incredibly sorry for my severe lack of judgement. I profoundly apologize to those I've let down and truly regret any pain I've caused."

Does Jack Black support Joe Biden?

Yes. Black recently appeared at a fundraiser benefitting the president's re-election campaign, delivering a passionate speech while wearing American flag-print overalls.

From USA TODAY: Slain fireman's widow rejects Biden's call but doesn't blame him

"When democracy is at stake," he said, "Jack Black answers the call."

Who are Tenacious D?

Tenacious D is a comedy rock band formed in 1994 that includes Black and Gass. They co-starred in a comedy film about the band, "Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny," in 2006.

Outside of the band, Black is known for his appearances in films like "The School of Rock," "Nacho Libre" and "The Holiday," as well as his voice acting in the "Kung Fu Panda" franchise.

The band was scheduled to appear at a sold-out show on the university's Bloomington campus this fall.
