About hanoi.

Hanoi is the cultural center of Vietnam: Famous for its colonial heart, colorful markets, unique theater performances and numerous museums and temples. There is always something going on in lively Hanoi.

Frequently asked questions about Hanoi tours

There are many day trips going from Hanoi, including to the Perfume Pagoda, Bat Trang Pottery Village and Ba Vi National Park. There are also day trips going to Halong Bay and Ninh Binh, but we recommend going there for at least one night.

We recommend staying here 2 to three days. You can spend easily longer in the city, but that will cost you time that you probably need to see the beautiful countryside in Sapa, Mai Chau, Ninh Binh and Ha Giang. In two to three days you can see enough highlights and do a number of fun activities such as the street food tour.

The best area in Hanoi to stay is the Old Quarter. It is the most atmospheric district, with a wide choice of hotels and restaurants. In addition, all tours in this area and the tourist buses to other destinations depart from here.

Vietnam is a very safe country when it comes to crime. Robberies and other offenses against foreign tourists are almost non-existent. However, the chaotic traffic with motorbikes, buses, cars and trucks is something that you have to be very careful with. Especially in the largest cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The entire relic is divided into 5 layers of space, corresponding to 5 courtyards with different architectural works. For tourists with day tours in Hanoi, security in Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is tight and visitors should dress with respect (no shorts, sleeveless shirts and miniskirts) and everyone has to deposit their bags and cameras before getting in. Incredible HaLong Bay Experience with Hoa!

"My wife and I had the pleasure of experiencing a breathtaking tour of HaLong Bay with Hoa, whom we met through WithLocals. From the moment we connected with her, we knew we were in for something special. Hoa’s warmth and deep knowledge of the area were evident from the start. She curated a perfect day for us, taking into account our preferences while adding unique local touches that only someone with her insight could offer. The beauty of HaLong Bay is undeniable, but it was Hoa’s thoughtful guidance and genuine passion that truly elevated our experience. She effortlessly balanced providing us with fascinating information about the bay’s history and geology while allowing us the peace and space to soak in the stunning surroundings. Her stories brought the bay to life in a way that we could never have imagined. In addition to the awe-inspiring scenery, Hoa introduced us to some hidden gems, including a quiet spot where we enjoyed a delicious meal of fresh, local seafood, away from the more crowded tourist areas. It felt like we were experiencing a side of HaLong Bay that most visitors miss out on. Hoa was attentive, always ensuring we were comfortable and having the best possible time, but she also gave us the freedom to explore and take in the beauty of the bay at our own pace. Her professionalism, coupled with her warm personality, made us feel like we were spending the day with a friend rather than just a guide. If you’re looking for an authentic, enriching experience in HaLong Bay, we cannot recommend Hoa enough. She made our trip unforgettable, and we are so grateful to have met her. Thank you, Hoa, for sharing the magic of HaLong Bay with us!"

Peek experience

"Walking around Hanoi with Trang as our guide was a deeply rewarding experience. She is an excellent conversationalist and well informed about the city's history and food culture. She introduced us to more food than we could possibly eat in one day, but we enjoyed every bite. She spoke English beautifully and was an excellent host. She's a lovely person too. I highly recommend this tour."

Review about Ngoc Ruby

"Ruby extra kind. We (my girlfriend and me) did the gastro tour the first nigth we stayed at Hanoi. Our fligth was delayed but Ruby changed the start of the tour without any problem. We enjoyed the tour a lot, tasting New flavours and the most important, visiting local places of street food. Besides, Ruby gave us some extra recommendations for the following days. Absolutely recomendable tour 👌 "

local Ngoc Ruby

Great, family friendly tour

"We had a great tour with Ruby. It was a good combination of some historical information, sightseeing, food tasting and child friendly games. Our daughter of 7 was tired from the trip over here and therefore a bit difficult. Ruby remained extremely friendly and kept her engaged. "

Currency : The local currency is Vietnamese Dong (VND). Credit cards are accepted in most places, but having cash on hand is handy for small vendors and street food stalls.

We recommend arriving in Hanoi one day earlier, depending on your point of origin, to acclimate yourself before the tour begins. The evening train to Sapa departs late, so a pre-night stay in Hanoi can be arranged if needed. On the final day, please note that you will arrive back in Hanoi in the late afternoon. We advise planning your onward journey accordingly to ensure a smooth transition. Let us know if you'd like assistance with booking an extra night's stay.
