' src=

i’d jump on any of these in a heartbeat if not for the cost of airfare to that part of the world

' src=

Could be magical from auckland as ship would have to fly to follow above map, as cruise terminal on other side of island….disney magic

' src=

As I heard somebody else mention, these are obviously meant for Australia residents to take as I don’t know anybody from the US that would pay that kind of money to fly all the way down there and go on one of these cruises that only makes 1 or 2 port stops (even the 6 night only makes 2 port stops), these itineraries are terrible. Only ones worth looking at would be the repositioning cruises and they don’t make any stops in New Zealand or Australia (except when they actually get to or leave from Sydney). Think DCL could have done better with these. Glad I already had other DCL cruises booked for 2023.

' src=

but it is ok to fly to the US for only 2-7 night voyages?

You may easily find the decision was too late and other ports of call were taken.

' src=

I have been told that these cruises are like the UK cruises last year and all are cruises to nowhere. While there are ports listed, they are tactical ports for refueling, etc. and not ports of call for guests.

' src=

That is honestly super disappointing. No longer cruise around Australia or NZ, only super short trips. How the hell id doing a 2 night?

' src=

It didn’t take us long to realize these are not worth the airfare and pre-cruise over night and post cruise over night stays. I agree the reposition itineraries are a better choice, and even those prices are a little high. Just focusing on the repositions at this point.

Some of the links on this page are coded wrong, such as safari-reader://disneycruiselineblog.com/cruise-planning/itineraries//itineraries/itinerary-summary/?itinerary=673 The correct coding should be https://disneycruiselineblog.com/cruise-planning/itineraries//itineraries/itinerary-summary/?itinerary=673 🙂

' src=

Valerie, Thanks for letting me know, I’ve corrected the links.

' src=

What are the early booking dates? Have they said yet?

I keep trying to click on “View Early Booking Dates” and it is not active yet. I was told we would hear more on 9/26.

' src=

Hello Scott Any idea when other itineraries for 2024 will be available ? October I believe?

' src=

With the New Zealand dollar at 0.56 and the Australian dollar at 0.64 to the US dollar, I don’t think that the “locals” will be able to pay DCL the expensive cruise fares that Disney will demand! And Americans are not going to fly that far for a short cruise!?

' src=

Hi Ed, as an Australian I have booked and previously sailed DCL in the US. It’s cheaper for us to sail here (even in the Aus school holidays and around Xmas) than it is to fly over to the US and get on it. Disney fans will go if they understand the quality of these beautiful ships , it’s the first time or non cruises that will be complaining

' src=

I would not be surprised if these cruises are meant to gauge local interest in the Disney brand, so that Disney can determine if building a property in the region might be a good idea.

The same goes for the Singapore sailings in 2025 – in fact, in the 1990’s Disney had a plan to build a property in Singapore, but it got scrapped, probably because of the Disneyland Paris fiasco – the same fate that befell a lot of 1990’s Disney projects.

"Broadway-quality" shows are promised among the entertainment offerings, along with Frozen adventures in Disney's Oceaneer Club, a multi-level replica of Andy's Room from Toy Story and a Marvel SuperHero Academy.

Themed dining spots on the ship include Tiana's Place, which offers New Orleans cuisine and Princess Tiana herself, along with Animator's Palate, which is described as an interactive Disney dining experience.

The cruise also features adults-only areas including a pool, spa and salon, and restaurant.

Disney announced the cruise at its D23 Expo over the weekend.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Booking Questions:

What payment is required for booking?  Deposits are due within 7 days of receiving invoice.  Deposit amounts and final payment terms will vary depending on the stateroom category and will be communicated at time of booking. Some staterooms, such as Concierge, have special conditions, so it's best to check this with your preferred wholesale cruise partner for this information, as well as details on Disney Cruise Line’s cancellation policy.

If this product sells out, will there be a waitlist available?  At this time, a waitlist is only available for concierge staterooms.

General Questions:

Are gratuities included? If not, how much are they?  Gratuities are not included in the stateroom price. We recommend a gratuity amount of $14.50 per night, per stateroom Guest, including infants and children—which will be dispersed to the Crew Members who serve our guests daily in the rotational dining restaurants and each stateroom. Guests staying in Concierge Staterooms and Suites are recommended a gratuity amount of $15.50 per night, per stateroom Guest.

The optional gratuity amounts for the assigned stateroom host and dining servers will be automatically added to the onboard cruise folio on Embarkation Day. Optional gratuities can be adjusted or removed before the end of the cruise.

Do you need a passport to be able to sail with Disney Magic at Sea?  For round-trip cruises visiting Australia or New Zealand, an ID card is the minimum accepted form of ID for citizens of those countries. Citizens of other countries, including children, are required to bring a valid passport for these sailings. Guests sailing on repositioning cruises are also required to bring a valid passport. Our guidelines are based on government regulations, which are subject to change at any time. It is the responsibility of each guest to ensure that they have all the proper documentation to board the ship and enter each of the countries on their cruise itinerary. Guests without proper documentation will be denied boarding.

When does online check-in open for guests booked on an upcoming sailing?  Online check-in opens for guests 30 days prior to sailing once the reservation is paid in full.

When does the cruise documentation get sent out?  Guests will receive Luggage Tags and other details prior to sailing

Children/Youth Questions:

What is the minimum age for sailings?  Guests must be at least 6 months old to participate in the Disney Magic at Sea Sailings in Australia and New Zealand. For the repositioning cruises, guests are required to be 12 months or older.

What are the Kids Clubs ages?  At Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab, children 3 to 12 years old can interact with Disney characters as they explore multi-themed magical lands or play and learn through imaginative themed activities and games. Tweens ages 11 to 14 will have a blast playing games, watching movies and engaging in creative activities with other cruisers at Edge. Older teens, ages 14 to 17, can visit Vibe, teens-exclusive space, chill out, listen to music, watch TV, play group games and more with cruisers their age.

What about Kids Clubs for Guests under 3?  For children under the age of 3, and those who are not toilet trained, ‘it’s a small world” nursery is available for an additional cost. Because space at “it’s a small world” nursery! is extremely limited, guests are encouraged to book their child’s stay as early as possible.

Advance reservations are required and can be made online:

Up to 120 days ahead for Concierge and Platinum Castaway Club Guests Up to 105 days ahead for Gold Castaway Club Guests Up to 90 days ahead for Silver Castaway Club Guests Up to 75 days ahead for all other Guests

Is there limited availability for children on each sailing?  Yes, there is a limit to how many children are permitted on each sailing. What is the minimum age for young adults booking their own Stateroom?

Guests must be 18 years or older to travel without a parent or guardian. Minors under the age of 18 not traveling with a parent or guardian must be accompanied by an adult 21 years of age or older in the same Stateroom. A minor authorization form is also required, which can be obtained here.

Can the verandahs be locked?  Yes, all verandah doors have a lock located at the top of the sliding glass door.

Do you have to pre-book the kids clubs?  Guests can pre-register their child online for Disney’s Oceaneer Lab and Disney’s Oceaneer Lab or they can register once onboard the ship. Advance registration is required for “it’s a small world” nursery.

Do you provide cots for infants?   Cots are not provided, but guests can request a pack’n’play for their stateroom, subject to availability.

Dining Questions:

With the rotational dining, if Guests are on a 2-night cruise, do they get to select which of the restaurants they will dine in?

Guests will receive their restaurant schedule and table number upon arrival for their cruise by checking the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. Rotational dining is the Disney Cruise Line way of making sure that all Guests get to enjoy each of the themed dining venues while on board. Breakfast and lunch are also served in main dining rooms, with operating hours indicated within the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App on board.

How do you make a special dietary request?  Disney Cruise Line offers gluten-free, vegetarian, no-sugar-added, dairy-free and lighter-note offerings on our table-service restaurant menus. Please let your personal wait staff know on the first night of your sailing if you have any special dietary requests or foods you would like to avoid so they can accommodate your request throughout your cruise. Dietary requests notated on your reservation will not be automatically applied at our quick-service meal locations or through in-room dining so please let those locations know if you have a special dietary request or foods you would like to avoid.

Is the soda, coffee, tea and soft serve included in the cruise fare for the entire voyage?  There is no charge for soft drinks, coffee, and tea at the Beverage Station on Deck 9 of the Disney Wonder. Select complimentary non-alcoholic beverages are also available in the restaurants, in-room dining and quick service dining venues on the ship.

Is Paid dining based on a la carte prices, or a set additional price for the restaurant?  The adults-only restaurant Palo serves a pre-fixe menu at a set price in addition to a la carte food and beverage options.

Can guests travelling together be allocated tables together for dining?  Yes, however, it is important to make sure that these reservations are linked during the booking process when reserving multiple staterooms. For bookings not confirmed at the same time, guests can link up to 3 additional staterooms on the same sailing once they have a reservation number. This can be completed by calling the Contact Centre or on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.

Entertainment Questions:

What Disney characters can guests expect to encounter onboard the Disney Wonder?  Disney Characters can be seen throughout the ship at select times including Mickey & pals and beloved friends from Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars.

How far in advance can you pre-book shore excursions?  All Onboard and Port Adventures can be booked once the reservation is paid in full and based on Castaway Club Status – 120 days Platinum, 105 days Gold, 90 days Silver, 75 days for all other Guests.

Do you need to pre-book seats in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for theatre shows?  Guest seating in the theatres is first come, first served.

Is there enough seating for everyone in the theatres?  Yes, Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy entertainment in the theatre opposite of their rotational dining assignment.

Which sailings feature fireworks?  Disney Magic and Sea sailings include a fireworks show, weather permitting.

Are there any Halloween or Christmas themed cruises?  These cruises will not be marketed as themed holiday seasons, however, will immerse Guests in the magic of Disney storytelling.

Stateroom & Accommodation Questions:

Do the inside staterooms still have magic portholes?  This feature is no available on the Disney Wonder. Guests can experience these on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.

Will we have access to all room types in the booking system, including suites?   Yes, all staterooms will be available to book, however, suites are very limited and will be subject to availability at the time of booking.

Can guests on back-to-back sailings leave their luggage in their stateroom or do they need to fully disembark?  Guests travelling on a back-to-back onboard the Disney Wonder can leave their luggage onboard, regardless of if they’re assigned in the same stateroom. If they are in a different stateroom, the stateroom host will help to transfer their suitcases to their new accommodations.

Which stateroom types offer interconnecting staterooms?  Deck Plans are available on the DisneyTravelAgents.com.au site. When looking at the Deck Plans, interconnecting staterooms will have an arrow between the rooms to indicate that they are interconnecting.

Do the 'Queen' beds split into twin beds or for those requiring two twin beds?  No, the queen beds are not split. Staterooms are equipped with a convertible sofa bed if a second bed is required.

7 amazing cruise itineraries to book in 2024

I don't know about you, but each year, as the weather turns cold, I start daydreaming about getting out of Dodge — or, in my case, Pennsylvania. My mind wanders to cruises that will take me to places where the temperature is warmer, but I also take a hard look at the (exceptionally lengthy) list of places I'm longing to visit.

After digging through what's new for 2024, I've come up with a shortlist of sailings that I think are noteworthy. They range from a standard Bahamas voyage with a new twist and an extended Alaska sailing that includes a foray across the Arctic Circle to more far-flung destinations in the Asia-Pacific region.

Dream on, dear reader, and add these to your list of 2024 cruise itineraries.

Note: All prices listed are per person, based on double occupancy, unless otherwise noted. Fares do not include taxes and fees.

Seabourn's 'Kimberley Expedition: Waterfalls and Wandjinas' itinerary

Last year, the Australia and New Zealand cruise region gained momentum following the pandemic shutdown. In 2024, the hardly populated Australia region of The Kimberley is gaining popularity. Luxury cruise brand Seabourn will be offering a series of six 10-night voyages between Broome and Darwin on expedition vessel Seabourn Pursuit during what will be early winter in the southern hemisphere.

The line's " Kimberley Expedition: Waterfalls and Wandjinas " will take passengers to places along the coast few passengers are able to visit to see the stunning teal waters and horizontal waterfalls of Talbot Bay, sample wines in the Hunter River Region and check out nature preserves in Wyndham.

Details: The first sailing, from Darwin to Broome, embarks on June 12. The final voyage, from Broome to Darwin, departs on Aug. 1. Prices start from $6,134 per person ($613 per person, per night), double occupancy, for the July 2 cruise. All accommodations are suites with balconies.

Celebrity's 'Best of Japan' and 'Vietnam and Thailand' cruises

The number of voyages in Asia was trending upward notably prior to 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic brought cruising in the region to an extended halt. And it's once again on the rise. Following that curve, Celebrity Cruises will be running new 11- to 13-night Asia sailings in 2024 on two ships — Celebrity Millennium and Celebrity Solstice — that bring stops in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Thailand.

What's notable about the offerings is that they will aim to immerse passengers further into the destinations by including overnights in a total of 11 ports across all itineraries. That means more time to explore Hanoi's Old Quarter as the sun sets, indulge in nighttime gastronomy in Hong Kong, visit one of Bangkok's many markets, or learn why Osaka is known for street food.

Details: Celebrity Millennium's " Best of Japan " cruises run from early mid-March to early October. At press time, the least expensive fares — for a 12-night sailing — start from $1,330 per person ($111 per person, per night) for an inside cabin. It travels round-trip from Yokohama and visits Hiroshima, Pusan and other ports, including Osaka, where the ship will overnight.

Celerbrity Solstice's Vietnam and Thailand cruises kick off in mid-January and run through March. The ship will resume them again in the fall of 2024 and run through the winter season. Prices start from $1,255 per person ($105 per person, per night) for an inside cabin. The voyage sails from Hong Kong to Singapore with stops in Da Nang and Koh Samui, plus overnights in Hanoi and Bangkok.

SeaDream's 'Yachting the Adriatic & Greek Isles' sailing

Here's one to put on your radar if you're looking to book — but not necessarily sail — in 2024. It's a new Mediterranean itinerary that doesn't start up for nearly three more years, in 2026. The SeaDream routing brings stops at seven ports that are rarely visited by cruise passengers. During the seven-night voyages, there will be calls at Primosten, Croatia; Cesme, Turkey; Cetubal, Portugal; and Kythira, Kythnos, Syvota and Tinos, Greece — making these sailings unique and well-suited to anyone who loves the region but who's looking for new places to experience.

SeaDream's small ships, each of which carries just 112 people, are able to reach locales about which passengers on megaships can only fantasize. Couple that with excellent service, and you'll be visiting the Our Lady of Loretto statue in Primosten, touring the Cesme Castle and lounging on stunning Greek beaches from a home base that puts you squarely in the lap of luxury.

Details: An itinerary that includes three of the seven new ports is the 11-night " Yachting the Adriatic & Greek Isles " itinerary from Venice, Italy, to Athens, Greece, departing on Aug. 8, 2026, on SeaDream I. Prices start from $10,399 per person ($946 per person, per night) for a room with a porthole view.

Holland America's 'Alaska Arctic Circle Solstice' Legendary Voyage

Alaska is an absolute must for anyone who enjoys the vastness of untouched wilderness, the wildlife it houses and adventurous pursuits it provides. (Think whale-watching, hiking on glaciers and salmon fishing.) However, Holland America 's Westerdam is hosting a 28-day sailing that's anything but your standard cruise to the Last Frontier .

Passengers will visit the usual Alaska ports, such as Ketchikan, Sitka and Juneau, with scenic sailing through the Inside Passage, past Hubbard Glacier and to Glacier Bay. But they can also expect less-common stops at places like Nome, Kodiak, Anchorage (with an overnight) and Homer. Plus, about halfway through, this cruise crosses the Arctic Circle — a rite of passage for many travelers.

Details: Holland America's 28-day " Alaska Arctic Circle Solstice " cruise — one of the line's Legendary Voyages, known for longer durations and a unique mix of port calls — sails June 9-July 7, round-trip from Seattle. Inside cabins start from $5,299 per person (about $189 per person, per night).

Silversea's summertime French Polynesia cruises

Another consideration for future travel is Silversea Cruises , which is featuring its first full-summer season in French Polynesia in 2026. Silver Whisper will offer two immersive itineraries, including overnights, across 17 voyages between April and September.

Passengers can choose seven-night sailings that visit idyllic favorites like Tahiti, Moorea and Huahine and which also include overnights in Bora Bora. Or, they can cruise for twice as long by selecting a 14-night voyage that calls on the same ports as the seven-night option but with Fakarava, Nuku Hiva, Fatu Hiva, Atuona and Tahuata added.

Details: Silversea's seven-night voyages begin April 6, 2026, and start from $5,650 per person ($808 per person, per night) for an ocean-view cabin.

The line's 14-night sailings start on April 20, 2026. Fares start from $10,450 per person ($747 per person, per night) for ocean-view accommodations.

New Bermuda voyages on Carnival Venezia

Beginning in May of 2025, Carnival Cruise Line 's Carnival Venezia will sail a series of eight four- and five-night cruises to Bermuda from New York. These itineraries are notable because the line is aiming to increase its presence there but also because the style of the ship is new to even most of the brand's most dedicated passengers.

In 2022, Carnival announced its Costa by Carnival concept after revealing it would be transferring ships from its Costa sister brand to the Carnival fleet. Now, when travelers visit the Gibb's Hill Lighthouse or check out the island's renowned pink-sand beaches during a sailing on Carnival Venezia, they can enjoy both the Italian style of the ship and Carnival's fun atmosphere and high service standards.

Details: Voyages kick off on May 22, 2025. Prices start from $429 per person ($108 per person, per night) for an inside cabin on a four-night cruise departing Sept. 18, 2025.

Disney Cruise Line's Lighthouse Point itineraries

Disney Cruise Line 's new Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point , a private destination on the Bahamian island of Eleuthera, is set to open in June with a three-night preview sailing on June 6 aboard Disney Magic. Following the initial voyage, the line will run regular three- to seven-night voyages to Lighthouse Point on Disney Magic, Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream.

The island will feature a dedicated family beach and water play area, an arts and culture pavilion focused on Bahamian culture, 20 family cabanas, an adults-only beach and a selection of shore excursion options.

Details: Prices for itineraries that include Lighthouse Point start from $624 per person ($208 per person, per night) for a three-night cruise on Disney Magic. The cruise departs Nov. 5 and sails from Fort Lauderdale's Port Everglades to San Juan, Puerto Rico.
