HAIM play biggest ever UK show at All Points East

The los angeles sister act headlined at victoria park.

By Joe Goggins

HAIM press shot, 2021

HAIM played their only European show of 2023 in East London last night – you can see fan-shot footage and check out the setlist below.

The Los Angeles trio topped a bill that also saw sets from Girl in Red, FKJ, Confidence Man , Joesef and Snail Mail, along with a slew of others, as the fifth edition of the All Points East festival in Victoria Park came to a close.

The show will be one of the last of HAIM ’s Women in Music Pt. III. era, and saw Danielle, Este and Alana deliver a career-spanning set that leaned mainly on that album and their 2013 debut, Days Are Gone . You can see the full setlist below.

Taking the stage to the sound of Fergie’s 2005 single ‘London Bridge’, the three-piece launched into ‘Now I’m in It’. The band’s biggest-ever London show, it was an emotional affair, with Alana telling the crowd mid-set when the house lights went up on the audience: “don’t make me cry already, guys. I’ve already cried through like the first four songs.”

With Days Are Gone , which was released via the London-based Polydor, turning ten next month, the show offered the opportunity for reflection on the band’s storied history in the city, with Alana also pausing to say: “London and the UK was the first place to ever embrace us, so we actually call this home,” (per Yahoo! News ).

Accordingly, they were in the mood to reconnect with the city, with bassist Este asking the crowd for recommendations for where to take the afterparty. “I need your help because I haven’t lived in London in a very long time, and I’m not as well acquainted with Hackney as I was back in the day.”

The group last played London last summer, headlining The O2 Arena and bringing out Taylor Swift for ‘Gasoline’. They’ve since joined Swift, a long-time friend, onstage at several dates on the Eras Tour, teaming up on their evermore collaboration ‘no body no crime’.

Earlier over the bank holiday weekend, All Points East also took in headline appearances by The Strokes , Jungle and Dermot Kennedy , whilst the previous weekend saw Stormzy host his own one-day festival and Aphex Twin top the bill at APE Presents: Field Day.

From San Fernando Valley, California, USA, HAIM are a trio of sisters who play well-crafted pop songs with a rock edge.

The three sisters, Este Haim (guitar/bass), Danielle Haim (vocals/guitar) and Alana Haim (guitar/keyboards)are joined by drummer Dash Hutton to form the band, with their R&B influenced pop rock receiving widespread acclaim following their early releases in 2012. The band meld influences from 90s R&B acts such as Destiny's Child with the soft rock of Fleetwood Mac alongside 80s synth pop to create their fresh, original sound.

Having come from a musical family, the Haim sisters had a long history of performing and playing together and had started the beginnings of their band in 2007 but did not consider taking it seriously due to pursuing other interests. Following their regrouping in 2012, they played with bands such as Edward and the Magnetic Zeros and Kesha, before releasing their debut EP "Forever" as a limited free download. Alongside the release and a string of successful shows at SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, US, HAIM garnered the attention of the record industry, signing with Polydor Records in the UK in June 2012. Following a UK tour and growing press coverage, HAIM topped BBC's annual poll for 'Sound of 2013,' which cemented their success for the following year, being the first all female act to win this accolade.

Their debut album, "Days Are Gone" (2013) was recorded amidst a busy touring schedule, through which HAIM became renowned for their incendiary live show, which displayed a much rockier side to their music than what was displayed on their studio recordings. The album was a huge success in the UK, reaching number one in the charts, whilst reaching number six in the US.

Whilst being an all-girl band, HAIM are quick to dismiss any tag or label of them as being a 'girl-band,' instead wishing to be respected as musicians regardless of their gender.

Live reviews

SoCal sisters Haim have had a stonking couple of years. After winning last year's BBC Sound Of poll, their meteoric rise was kicked off proper, even though they'd been garnering oodles of hype with early material, and gaining comparisons to Fleetwood Mac for months.

Now, in the aftermath of Days Are Gone (“nu-folk meets 90s R&B”, some say,) the trio stampede across the globe, displaying their ditties for all to see. Returning to Glastonbury for an almost-unprecedented second year running, the band rattled through a hit-packed set – including a cover of Beyoncé's “XO” – in the perilous moments before a tremendous thunderstorm struck and halted the entire festival.

Staples of all their shows – or at least the majority – include rousing renditions of radio-friendly pop-rock like “Falling,” “The Wire," “If I Could Change Your Mind," “Don't Save Me” and “Forever." As well, the three sisters (Alana, Danielle and Este) are fond of chatting with the crowd, often with blunt results. However, these days, possibly the biggest definite of a Haim show is Este Haim's infamous bassface. A blend of horror-movie gurns, lemon sucking contortions and the silenced yowls of no-anaesthetic amputations, it's a sight to behold that's become as famous as the band.

HAIM delivered everything I expected at this show, and more! This band has so many different things going for it, that it is hard not to see them having a long successful career. As a matter of fact, in the music business of old, when there were not 10 zillion bands out there, HAIM would be playing arenas and probably making Fleetwood Mac kind of money…The Wiltern isn't the best sounding venue for sure, but HAIM overcame this and totally kicked ass, playing the tunes off of "DAYS ARE GONE" with passion and skill. As good as they all are, (and special kudos also to drummer Dash and keyboardist Tommy) it is hard not to focus on Danielle Haim and her major rock star charisma. It doesn't hurt that she rips it up on guitar and is a pretty kick ass drummer too…All in all, HAIM was amazing, and I would go back tonight if I could get a ticket...

One word: Amazing. Seriously, I didn't think the Haim sisters could do anything that would make me love them more... And then I saw them perform. From magical moments such as bringing their parents on stage or to telling us personal stories in between songs, it was a concert like no other. Haim is such an incredible group and their shows speak volumes to the amounts of talent they had. Life changing night seeing an out of this world band.

All of the buzz following them is well deserved! The album is great; but live these songs truly come to life!! It's like a old friends getting together to party. The passion in Daneille Haim's guitar play will blow you away! Este always tells pretty entertaining story or two for starters. Alana is the mad genius rounding out the rhythm section. Este is the pulse of the band!!

My heart was full after this show. They sound just as awesome live as they do in my headphones. Awesome energy and I truly enjoyed singing and dancing to their songs. 10/10 would attend again.

Also, there was an engagement and they invited the couple to the stage and offered to play at their wedding. (jealous)

Absolutely incredible, paid resale price and still got my money's worth and then some. It wasn't too crowded, and the sound was really good. Their entry and exit from the stage is definitely a breath of fresh air. Will definitely attend future shows!

Fab night! Support acts were really good and then Haim were amazing!

They even did a song at the back of the crowd which was really intimate!

One of the best gigs I've been to!

An amazing gig by Haim as always! Great atmosphere and an amazing stage presence. Can’t wait to see them again soon.

Venue was a little hot but that isn’t the bands fault!

Haim-All-Points-East-2023

Celebrated American indie-rock trio Haim will headline 2023 All Points East Festival in east London.

The BRIT-award-winning collective returns to London to headline All Points East. Formed in Los Angeles in 2007, Haim features siblings Danielle, Este and Alana Haim. The band made a breakthrough with their debut record, 2013’s Days Are Gone , which topped the charts in the UK. Their latest release, the 2020’s album Women in Music Pt. III , repeated the success, securing number No.1 in Britain and Northern Ireland. The trio was described by The Guardian as “one of the most quintessential LA bands of their generation.”

At All Points East, Haim will be joined by a number of artists including Girl In Red, Confidence Man, Lizzy McAlpine, Tove Lo, Joesef, Snail Mail, Romy, Avalon Emerson + The Charm, Durand Jones, Mae Stephens, Nell Mescal and gigi.

Haim will make their Luno presents All Points East debut on UK Bank Holiday 28 August, 2023. The presale starts on 10 March at 10 am. Visit the festival’s official website for further information.

Back in November, it was revealed that Stormzy will also headline at the 2023 All Points East. The celebrated rapper will be curating an entire day of the London festival under the banner ‘This Is What We Mean Day.’ He will take over Victoria Park on August 18 for the event.

Last week, Stormzy announced the launch of his inaugural #Merky Books literature festival , which will be held in London in April.

The MC launched his award-winning #Merky Books publishing imprint in 2018 in collaboration with Penguin Random House UK with the ambition of publishing books that will own and change the mainstream.

Following a pop-up held in 2019, Stormzy will now hold a two-day literature festival at London’s Roundhouse venue between April 22-23. Sponsored by Netflix, the event aims to demystify creative industries and inspire a new generation of creatives.

Haim to headline All Points East festival 2023 with female-dominated lineup

All points east seem to have listened to the recent gender critique over festival lineups, article bookmarked.

Haim have just been announced as the latest headliners for the All Points East festival in London.

The festival, which has multiple-day options spread over several different days in August, has already announced previous headliners, including The Strokes and Stormzy .

Haim will play the Victoria Park day festival in East London on the bank holiday Monday (28 June) alongside acts such as Girl In Red and Confidence Man .

The three sisters announced the news in an Instagram video showing them doing a dance in matching dressing gowns, saying, “Oh s***”.

This will be the band’s only European performance this year. The band last played in the UK in 2022 as part of their world tour – and also played the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury Festival.

Other acts playing the 40,000-capacity festival include Joesef, Lizzy McAlpine, Snail Mail, Romy (The xx), Tove Lo, Avalon Emerson, Avalon Emerson & The Charm , Tamino, Nieve Ella, Mae Stephens , Nell Mescal and Gigi.

The lineup is inclusive of many female and LGBTQ+ acts – a welcome change following recent controversy surrounding the lack of industry diversity.

Last week, Glastonbury announced their lineup and included no female headliners, with a caveat about the “pipeline” problems in booking non-male acts.

Earlier this year, the Brit awards came under fire after their Artist of the Year category included no women.

How to get tickets:

Tickets to see Haim on 28 August at All Points East will be available on Friday 10 March.

According to the festival, American Express cardholders get early access to Amex Presale, which begins at 9am on Friday 10 March.

General sale tickets will be available at 10am on Friday 10 March.

A grand project to help revitalise the railway town of Crewe lies buried under mounds of earth, serving as a bleak warning for Britain's Conservatives and their fight to retain power. Haim: Women On Top

With a trio of Grammy nominations, a clutch of hit albums and an Oscar nod between them, Haim are fast becoming the biggest female rock band in the world. The three sisters - Alana, Danielle and Ester - tell Lottie Lumsden about the struggles they have faced to get here.

Haim are telling me about the best party they’ve ever had. ‘I stayed up until the sun came up,’ says Alana, the band’s youngest member. ‘When we go out, we don’t know how to leave,’ adds her eldest sister, Este. Danielle smiles knowingly.

haim elle cover

Performing is what Haim love best. ‘It’s the thing we find most joy in,’ says Este. And when I meet them, on the rooftop of the Thompson Hollywood hotel in Los Angeles on a sunny spring morning, they are getting ready for a busy summer of shows. Not only are they headlining London’s All Points East festival on 28 August, they will also be supporting Taylor Swift on some of the US leg of her ‘Eras’ tour. In between gigs, they’re writing their fourth album.

We’re sitting at a corner table, perched on a banquette scattered with yellow-and-white candy-stripe cushions. Behind us lies a Slim Aarons-style pool, with planters of lavender surrounding the table. There’s plenty of rock-star- appropriate leather going on: Este is in jeans, a white tee , black heeled boots and a leather jacket, with her blonde hair pushed to one side. Danielle is wearing a black leather bomber, sweater and trousers, while Alana sports a cosy- looking Louis Vuitton brown bomber over her jeans. They’ve got real presence: as soon as they walked in, it was clear that rock stars had entered the building. One waiter even squealed, ‘Oh my god! You’re my favourite band!’

You never know what to expect when doing a big interview, but the fact that they offered to come to my hotel for the 10am meeting (which never happens) made me instantly like them. And, in person, they’re funny, finishing each other’s sentences and riffing off one another endlessly. Alana is the unofficial spokesperson, while Este brings the edge and Danielle sits back quietly, a bit more considered in what she says.

It fuels the fire

It has been a busy few years for the sisters. They released their critically acclaimed third album, Women in Music Pt III, in 2020, at the height of the pandemic. It went straight to number one in the UK, and it made history in 2021 when they became the first all- female rock band to be nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammys. In 2022, they joined Louis Vuitton’s glittery roster of house ambassadors. Then there was the small matter of playing Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage last year.

‘We put our third album out and wanted to tour, but it was physically impossible,’ says Alana, on the impact of the pandemic. ‘It was devastating. Like a sneeze that you just had to hold in.’ Needless to say, they’re excited to get back on stage – especially with Swift, who they previously supported on her ‘1989’ tour. ‘Seeing how hard she works is insane,’ says Danielle. ‘She never complains. She’s the most incredible performer, and so inspiring as a friend.’ ‘She loves what she does,’ adds Este. ‘We’d play a show and she would just want to hang out after.’

haim elle cover

It is hardly surprising that the sisters live and breathe music: it has always been central to their lives. The trio grew up in LA’s San Fernando Valley, and had a family band, called Rockinhaim, with their parents Moti and Donna. ‘It was a covers band,’ explains Alana. ‘My mom played guitar and my dad had a drum set in the living room. We played at country fairs, church fairs, charity events... In our minds, we weren’t great – we were amazing.’ Este objects: ‘We were kids! And it was our way of spending time as a family. Some families go camping – we play music. We’d play The Beatles, The Stones, Santana...’

As they got older, and Este passed her driving test, the sisters would head to Hollywood to watch live music at bars such as the Troubadour, where the likes of Bob Dylan had once performed. At the time, Este was working as a waitress in The Cheesecake Factory, Danielle at a shoe shop and Alana was still in high school. ‘Our lives changed when Este got her licence,’ says Alana. ‘She got us fake IDs and we started going to concerts, and that’s how we bonded as sisters.’

haim elle cover

In 2007, they started a new band as a trio. ‘We were writing songs,’ says Danielle. ‘Really bad songs. And Haim just kind of began.’ While the sisters all play guitar, Este is on bass, Danielle on drums and Alana on piano. They uploaded their music to Myspace and started booking gigs through the plat- form. ‘We would pay for our friends to come to our shows so there were people in the audience,’ says Alana.

It wasn’t easy to launch themselves as an all-female rock band, despite gigging around LA for five years. ‘No one wanted to sign us,’ notes Alana. ‘The amount of people who were like, “You’re never going to make it. Give up!”’ Danielle adds, ‘People would say to us, “You’ll never get a record deal. A girl rock band, unfortunately, is not something you see.” People used to say that shit all the time. But we had such a crazy focus, plus we’re sisters – we’re like a wolf pack.’ Alana says, ‘We’ve done so many things in our career, despite what people in the industry have said. Being told you’ll never sell out a venue, then you do. You’ll never headline a festival, and then we do. It fuels the fire.’

haim elle cover

They didn’t give up, and were eventually signed to Polydor Records in 2012. Shortly after, they released their EP, Forever. Their resilience is what makes them such important figures in a male-dominated industry. At no point have they allowed anyone to get in the way of their vision: keeping rock music alive, through the female lens.

It’s still a struggle today. They tell me about the time they fired their agent after learning a male act he also represented was being paid 10 times more than them to perform at the same festival. ‘I think I can comfortably say that will never happen again,’ Alana says.

When I ask what needs to change for women in the industry, Danielle says simply, ‘I don’t even know where to start.’ It’s clear the subject weighs heavily upon them, and has motivated them to go deeper and become more honest in their writing. The themes of Women in Music Pt III encompass everything from mental health to Alana losing a friend in a car accident.

Danielle explains, ‘On our first two albums [ Days Are Gone (2013) and Something to Tell You (2017)], there aren’t a lot of guitar solos. And we dance in our music videos because we love to dance, but some people would write it off and say, “Oh, they don’t actually play their own instruments.” We like to move! Some male bands can get away with dancing and not putting guitar solos on their albums and are still considered a rock band. With our third album, we were a little more conscious of that.’

haim elle cover

All three say they have had regular therapy. ‘I’m going to my therapist after this,’ says Alana. ‘It’s incredibly important.’ Danielle, who has spoken about suffering from depression, says, ‘It took a lot of strength to be vulnerable. It was amazing to see [the reaction to the album]. ‘I Know Alone’ was written prob- ably at the darkest depths of my depression, and it was weird because we released it during the pandemic when everyone was alone, and the messages we got from our fans were saying, “This has helped me so much.” There is nothing better than having that connection with someone you don’t know.’

Meanwhile, Este touches on living with a chronic illness on the track ‘Hallelujah’. She was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was 14, and she wears a monitor on her right arm to track her blood-sugar levels. It sends a message to her sisters’ phones when the levels dip or peak. ‘When I was growing up, doctors told me it would be a really bad idea to be a touring musician,’ says Este, talking about the physical toll and unpredictability of life on the road. ‘That was the most devastating thing for me. I understand why now, because it is really hard. There are so many things that affect diabetes that nobody ever really talks about. But I wanted to be able to show fellow diabetics that you don’t have to let anything hold you back from making your dreams come true. There are days when I’m incredibly “deprEste”, because my blood sugar will be high all day and I won’t know why.’ As well as talking through her frustrations with her sisters, she has an unlikely confidante in Nick Jonas, who also has type 1 diabetes. ‘He’s my diabuddy,’ she smiles.

We dance in our music videos because we love to dance, so people say, 'Oh, they don’t actually play their own instruments.' We like to move!

Vital to the continuing success of the group has been each sister’s encouragement of the others going off to do their own thing. In the early days of the band, Danielle toured as a guitarist with The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas. In 2020, Alana turned her hand to acting in the lead role of Alana Kane in Paul Thomas Anderson’s 2021 hit film, Licorice Pizza . It went on to be Oscar and Bafta nominated. ‘We are so proud of her,’ says Danielle.

When Alana started filming in August 2020, it involved staying in a strict Covid bubble, so she couldn’t see her sisters. Danielle, Este and their parents briefly appear in the film, playing her family at Shabbat, a traditional Jewish Friday-night dinner. ‘When we finally got to film together with my parents, it was the first time I’d seen them all in months,’ says Alana. ‘And it was the first time in my life that I didn’t have my siblings with me every step of the way.’

They made up for it when the film was nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars, and the sisters walked the red carpet together. They famously posted a TikTok video on their way to the awards, predicting a heavy night and singing, ‘I’m going to be hungover, I’m going to drink a bunch of different drinks, and I’m going to be hungover.’ ‘We did drink a bunch of different drinks and we were hungover,’ confirms Alana.

Then, last year, White Lotus fans went wild when Este started popping up in season two behind-the-scenes cast pictures on social media. Nobody could work out what she was doing there. As it turned out, Este had been going through a break-up in the spring of 2022 and so her friend, the show’s executive producer David Bernad, invited her to stay at the hotel in Sicily where the show was being filmed. At first she was there on a jolly and her friend, the singer Kesha, joined her too. ‘It was paradise. I was DJing every night in the bar area with the cast, and having these dance parties and karaoke. I was a bad influence – I wasn’t working all day like they had been. My unofficial title was “vibe conductor”,’ says Este. I’ve only known her for an hour, but I can imagine the fun she must have brought on set.

‘But then, even though live music was such a big part of the show, they didn’t have anyone around to help with it, so Dave asked me to stay.’ She ended up being credited as music consultant for the show. ‘It was the most fun. The only thing missing was these two,’ she says, indicating her sisters.

In the summer of 2022 they reunited for their world tour, all in their matching Louis Vuitton tour costumes, custom made by the house’s creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière. ‘For the first time ever we had the most iconic thing to wear on stage. We wore those leather pants every day,’ says Alana. ‘They smell so bad!’ Danielle laughs, ‘Just one pair, every night. It’s musty in there.’

haim elle cover

Talking fashion is where Danielle really comes alive. She reminisces about the first time she went to London in 2009, and took five buses to get to Topshop on Oxford Street because Kate Moss’ latest edit had dropped. ‘I got so lost, I didn’t know what I was doing,’ she laughs. So working with Ghesquière has been a highlight. ‘It’s the dream,’ she says. ‘We grew up idolising his designs.’

Despite their all-nighter after the O2 show, the sisters assure me that back in LA they live a quiet life in the Valley, hanging out with childhood friends. ‘We don’t really go out,’ says Alana. ‘I want to put on this façade that we’re rock’n’rollers, but when we come home, we sleep. We’re not night owls. Friends come to us. We stay at home, cook and watch Love Island ,’ explains Este. ‘We’re trying to perfect the martini right now,’ adds Alana. ‘’Tini night!’ shouts Este. And it’s very much ‘we’. ‘We come as a package,’ says Este. ‘If you’re friends with one of us, you’re friends with all of us.’ As for nights with Swift, they say they’re ‘the most fun’. ‘We make dinner, we dance and we play pool,’ says Este. ‘When we met, it was “game over”– we just connected on so many levels,’ agrees Alana. ‘We have the same musical tastes. It just kind of clicks. As friendships do.’

With that, it’s time for Alana’s appointment. ‘My therapist is waiting for me,’ she says. I see them again before I return to London, on ELLE ’s cover shoot the following day, at a house in the Malibu hills. LA has had an unprecedented amount of rain over the winter, but today it’s a cinematic blue-sky day. The countryside is a luscious green, and carpeted with yellow wildflowers. As with everything they do, Haim bring fun to the day – especially when our photographer asks them to hula hoop, which Este does with aplomb, and the ring spins around her waist.

haim elle cover

This is the magic of Haim. Yes, they release great records, but people also love them for being so unapologetically themselves, never taking things too seriously, and always finding joy in their music. They have succeeded where many male-fronted rock bands have failed, and perhaps that’s down to their unwavering self belief. Rock’n’roll might go in and out of fashion, but with the likes of Haim supporting the cause, it’s definitely here to stay.

How Taylor Swift Could Add The Tortured Poets Department To The 2024 Eras Tour

It’s unlikely she’ll totally ignore a new album.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - NOVEMBER 17: (EDITORIAL USE ONLY. NO BOOK COVERS.) Taylor Swift performs on...

Taylor Swift had a surprise at the 2024 Grammys that even the most investigative Swifties couldn’t uncover in advance. After winning Best Pop Solo Album for 2022’s Midnights , Swift announced that she’d release her next album, The Tortured Poets Department , on April 19.

Now, fans are in overdrive looking for Easter eggs about her 11th album, but perhaps the most important question is whether Swift will add her upcoming new music to the Eras Tour .

Swift is not expected to include Tortured Poets when the Eras Tour hits Asia and Australia in February and March (though it’s not out of the question). But she begins the European leg on May 9 in Paris, just three weeks after the new album comes out, and has dates through August before she returns to North America for shows from October to December.

While she hasn’t confirmed that Tortured Poets will be added to the setlist, it’d be slightly odd if Swift ignored a whole new album while on tour, so here’s how she may incorporate it.

Swift Might Add A Whole New Act

Taylor Swift announces 'The Tortured Poets Department'

The Eras Tour already has a massive 45-song setlist that spans nearly three-and-a-half hours, with nine of her 10 studio albums getting their own act, a rare feat for any pop concert.

Swift may simply add another section to represent Tortured Poets , perhaps making it an even 50-song setlist. But it’d also be reasonable, perhaps more likely, for Swift to cut some songs to make room.

Swift already experimented with changing the setlist in the Eras Tour concert film , where she cut five songs from the show — “The Archer,” “Long Live,” “cardigan,” “Wildest Dreams,” and “no body, no crime” with HAIM, the latter of which was performed at the Los Angeles shows in place of “‘tis the damn season.”

New Tracks Could Be “Secret Songs”

Taylor Swift at The Eras Tour

It’s also possible that Tortured Poets will get the “secret song” treatment . Every night, Swift chooses two songs from her catalog that aren’t already on her setlist and sings them acoustically, one on her guitar and one on the piano.

Swift’s goal for the 2023 shows was not to repeat any “secret song” at later shows unless she messed it up. However, she allowed herself to sing tracks from Midnights as many times as she wanted, simply because it was her newest album.

If she opts out of creating a whole new act for Tortured Poets , expect the new tracks to pop up as “secret songs,” and for them to get the same treatment as Midnights .

When travelers say they’re “going to Europe,” it can mean they’re making multiple stops across the continent, or just visiting one country. As with other continents, Europe is sometimes perceived as one great homogeneous blob – all gingerbread-house architecture, wartime relics, and gelato stands.

But, made up of more than 40 sovereign states speaking 24 official languages, this continent is endlessly surprising. Did you know that Spain is home to mainland Europe’s only true desert (pictured), or that Bosnia-Herzegovina boasts its largest rainforest?

Forget stereotypes

Cultural stereotypes are something every responsible traveler should leave at the door. They breed idle assumptions that when left unchecked can grow into harmful prejudices and unconscious bias. Common stereotypes like binge-drinking Brits, grumpy Eastern Europeans, and lazy Spaniards are not only massive generalizations, but they are also completely unfair.
