Idée sortie à Bruxelles : le Food Market de la Gare Maritime vous attend

Le nouveau Food Market à la gare Maritime de Tour et Taxis a ouvert ses portes le mois dernier. Dix restaurants mêlant street food et gastronomique vous accueillent dans un endroit unique à Bruxelles. Un immanquable pour aller manger un bout, qu’ Olivier Arendt a testé pour vous.

Rien que l’endroit vaut le déplacement. Le Food Market a pris ses quartiers dans la Gare Maritime de Tour & Taxis, un bâtiment qui a accueilli les trains de marchandises durant des décennies, puisque c’est une ancienne gare de fret qui est aussi la plus grande construction intérieure en bois en Europe. Un site impressionnant, et entièrement rénové depuis 2016 pour faire place aux 9 restaurants et au bar qui vous offrent un aperçu de la scène gastronomique de notre pays. 

Parmi les quelques grands noms de la cuisine présents, on retrouve le duo Mallory Gabsi et Adrien Cachot , rendus célèbres grâce à Top Chef, et le 140 !, leur concept de friterie gastronomique .  Egalement présent, Sang Hoon Degeimbre , chef du restaurant  L’air du temps  qui vous propose cette fois de goûter de savoureux bouillons aux parfums exotiques. Ou encore le chef italo-argentin Mauro Colagreco , 3 étoiles au Michelin, et élu meilleur chef au monde, et son concept autour de la viande de qualité et locale. Bref, les meilleurs chefs belges et étrangers sont réunis au même endroit pour vous faire vivre une expérience culinaire unique.

A l’initiative du projet, le groupe brassicole AB InBev a également installé son bar, The Victoria Bar , qui vous servira notamment la célèbre bière blonde du même nom.

Olivier précise que malgré le cadre prestigieux et les grands chefs qui vous servent, les plats restent majoritairement accessibles , si l'on fait attention. Mais la qualité est là, et lui s’est régalé avec une croquette de gibier !

Devenez Amis du Baixu

​ En septembre 2024, le Baixu va fêter son deuxième anniversaire.

Cette aventure merveilleuse, pleine de découvertes et de rencontres toutes plus passionnantes les unes que les autres - artistes, public ou personnes qui se donnent cœurs et âmes à des projets sociaux – n’a cessé de s’étoffer et de se diversifier. Concerts jazz, brésiliens, classiques et musiques du monde y alternent. De plus en plus de musiciens, jeunes talents ou artistes confirmés, viennent s’y produire. Performances de poésie, expositions, théâtre sont à venir. Plusieurs associations ont entrepris de travailler avec le Baixu pour amener des enfants et des adolescents en difficulté aux concerts ou y organiser des ateliers.

Et le public direz-vous ? Il est au rendez-vous grâce à vous, mais aussi parce que le petit Baixu commence à se faire connaître comme un endroit qui compte sur la place de Bruxelles!

Grandir demande d’être accompagné. Nous avons donc pensé qu’il était temps pour lui de réunir à ses côtés tous ceux et celles, fidèles depuis le premier jour ou nouveaux arrivants, qui souhaiteraient le soutenir et le voir s’affirmer.

Une « bande d’amis » qui par ce soutien permettra au Baixu de proposer une programmation toujours plus riche en musiques, performances, évènements, ateliers sociaux. À grandir en somme et à devenir une place importante pour la découverte des artistes de demain et pour le dynamisme de la vie culturelle molenbeekoise et bruxelloise.

Bien sûr, les Amis, cela se soigne et se gâte : réductions sur les concerts, évènements spécialement conçues pour eux, participations aux ateliers, facilités de location, ne sont que les premiers des gestes qui viendront consolider cette amitié.

Un lieu culturel de rencontre et de création

Association sans but lucratif, Le Baixu est un espace culturel multidisciplinaire entièrement équipé, installé dans un ancien local industriel de 150m2 et pouvant accueillir entre 80 (assis) et 120 personnes (debout), au cœur du nouveau quartier branché de Tour et Taxis.

Le nom “Baixu” signifie « beau » dans la langue des indiens Pataxos qui vivent dans le sud de l’État de Bahia au Brésil. Un mot qui se veut représentatif de l’ambition du projet et de la qualité des évènements culturels présentés, tout comme de l’attachement à la culture brésilienne des initiateurs du projet.

Le Baixu est un lieu de découverte d’artistes de tous horizons et de tous styles.

Dans une salle réunissant les conditions optimales d’acoustique et d’éclairage, il propose des concerts de petite formation de musique classique, de jazz et du monde, ainsi que des expositions d’art, des conférences et des projections de films documentaires.

Le Baixu est aussi un lieu de rencontre entre les artistes et des enfants et adolescents, par le biais d’ateliers créatifs et sociaux.

La mixité sociale, de race, de religion et de genre est une des composantes essentielles du projet du Baixu.

  Le Baixu est enfin une salle disponible pour des évènements privés - séminaires, conférences ou réceptions – qui peut également proposer un bar et une assistance technique.

Louer le baixu, c’est aussi participer activement au volet culturel et social du projet.

Le Baixu est né de plusieurs envies: offrir une scène avec des conditions optimales à de petites formations classique, jazz ou musique du monde; permettre aux jeunes talents de se faire connaître, de monter pour la première fois sur scène, de jouer avec des professionnels, enfin donner aux enfants et adolescents qui n’ont pas ou peu accès à la Culture, peu importe la raison, l’opportunité  de découvrir ce monde merveilleux par des projets de création, des ateliers musicaux, de venir assister gratuitement aux concerts.

De nombreux artistes de talent, musiciens, peintres, plasticiens, comédiens n’ont pas, ou très difficilement, accès aux circuits connus pour montrer ou faire entendre leur travail, faute de moyens, de contacts et de lieux accessibles.

Bruxelles manque de petites salles de qualité bien équipées qui puissent accueillir des spectacles et des expositions, mais qui soient également prêtes à se faire salle de répétition ou lieu de rencontres entre artistes et publics.

Il existe à Bruxelles quantités d’enfants et de jeunes gens qui sont dans l’ignorance de ce qu’est la culture et de la capacité qu’elle pourrait avoir pour eux de transformer leur vie.

How best to drive a taxi in Moscow

Moscow is a huge metropolis – the capital of the Russian Federation is three times as large and has three times as many inhabitants as Berlin, for example. Of course, getting from A to B is an important topic for visitors and locals alike. The metro is certainly the number one form of transportation in the Russian mega city. But as practical as the subway may be: in the rush hour it can get damn stuffy on the trains – especially in the city center and on the ring line the trains burst at the seams in the morning and in the evening and sometimes you have wait to be able to get in at all. In addition, you cannot get to the airport by metro. The most obvious solution is certainly the taxi. As a foreigner, you have to know a lot about Moscow and taxis. In Soviet times, taxis were affordable, but not competitive in comparison to heavily subsidized public transport. In addition, taxi drivers had a bad reputation and often questionable work ethic. Hardly everyone drove a taxi in Moscow and there were accordingly few. The development in the wild nineties, which were economically difficult for Russia, in which even many doctors, engineers and scientists had to earn something as taxi drivers, was quite different. «Black» taxis – not advisable for tourists

For tourists, especially inexperienced Russia, these taxis are anything but advisable. At first you will have communication problems even with kindly Bombila-drivers without knowledge of Russian. Even with proper school Russian, as a tourist you lack the local knowledge and an idea of ​​the usual prices – which is why you are almost at the mercy of the many black sheep among the «black» taxi drivers.

Taxi apps: Gett, Yandex, or Uber?

Equipped with a SIM card and mobile internet, it is certainly the best option as a tourist to get around using the taxi app. The world’s leading provider Uber only plays a subordinate role in Russia. Although the app also exists in Russia, Uber works here in cooperation with the local top dog Yandex Taxi. Yandex is often referred to as the Russian Google and is also very popular as a taxi service. The Yandex app works similarly to that of Uber.
