River Mahana is a tributary of river Tons and Keoti fall is the drop of River Mahana from Rewa Plateau. Famous as a segmented type of fall with a single drop and is noted as the 24th highest waterfall in India. It is one of the first places to visit in Rewa for nature lovers. Look for the segmented slopes which entirely is known as Knick point or nick. Timing : 24 hours.

Deur Kothar

This archaeological site has a great history to tell with the ancient Buddhist stupas that you will find here. Discovered in the year 1982, these stupas are said to be about two thousand years old and belonging to the Ashoka's reign. You will find three large stupas carved out of clay bricks and several small stupas out of 46 different stones.

Deur Kothar also has five thousand years old rocky caves which are definitely very intriguing in their appearance. As an attempt to spread Buddhism in the Vindhyan region during the period of Ashoka, the remains of Lord Buddha were distributed to create these stupas. Deur Kothar is an archaeological site among the prestigious Rewa tourist places where followers of Buddhism have build stupas after this site was found. Timing : 24 hours.

Rewa Fort

There is an interesting story behind the construction of the most prominent fort of Rewa. According to the folklore, construction of the fort was first started by Salim Shah, the son of Sher Shah Suri but was left incomplete. Later on, when Maharaja Vikramaditya arrived Rewa, he decided to take up the work of completing the construction of Rewa fort.

It was finally finished by him and King Bhav Singh Ju Deo installed the Mahamrityunjaya Temple inside the fort. Out of all the primitive forts of Madhya Pradesh , Rewa fort is the finest architecture you will notice on your visit. The main highlight of this Fort’s glory today is that it provides accommodation to the visitors at a very cost-effective price. Timing : 10 AM to 7 PM on all days of the week except Mondays and Saturdays.

Govindgarh Palace was a summer retreat to the King of Rewa as it is surrounded by some enchanting waterfalls in the area like Keonti, Chachai, and Bahuti. The construction dates back to the year 1882 AD, and this palace is a work of the Baghela Dynasty.

Installed on the shores of Govindgarh Lake, the palace is also considered as Mini Vrindavan and is famous for the Sundreja Mangoes and its breezy location. Govindgarh Palace is also encircled with many sacred temples of Madhya Pradesh , namely Chowandi Temple, Hanuman Temple, and Ram Govind Temple. It establishes itself as one of the places to visit in Rewa for witnessing the historical architecture blending with the surrounding natural oasis. Timing : 10 AM to 5:30 PM on all days of the week.

Rani Talab Meyer is one of the significant places to visit in Madhya Pradesh for being one of the oldest water wells in the town. The well water caters to various purposes ranging from irrigation, cultivation, fisheries and household chores. This revered water reservoir is considered holy as it nestled in the southern part of the city quite close to the temple of Goddess Kali on the west end of it.

This man-made lake is flocked with devotees during auspicious occasions especially during the sunrise and sunset hours. Temples situated by the bank like Bhairava and Kali temples can be reached by boat. Timing : 24 hours; always better to go between sunrise and sunset hours.

Venkat Bhavan

Venkat Bhavan is one of the matchless places to visit in Rewa, which is famous for its unique Saracenic style of architecture. This masterpiece was built by Maharaja Venkatraman Singh, and the construction was completed in the year 1907. The purpose of building this Bhavan was to provide employment to people during the famine period of 1894. 

On your visit to this temple, look out for the stunning carvings of Lord Shiva and Parvati on the walls and the secret tunnel that once used to serve the Kings during wars. The temple has a total of twelve doors in the outer wall and the property is maintained and looked after by Madhya Pradesh State Archeology Department. It now serves as a heritage hotel like few of the other forts in Rewa. Timing : Sunrise to sunset.

This statue of Bhairo Baba is situated near Gudh around an hour journey from Rewa and is a revered site to the devotees of Bhairo Baba. This is a large idol that lies horizontally and is inside a Shiva Temple by a lake in Gudh. People worship the idol and the lake water is believed to be sacred, which is used by the locals to cure diseases. Timing : 24 hours.

Rewa is a place where, you can see natural beauty in and around the city. It is mainly famous for waterfalls, the main waterfalls are Quonti, Chachai and Bahuti waterfall. River Bichiya and Beehar confluences in core part of the city and there is also a low height water fall which looks great when you enter the city. Khando is a place, which is mainly famous for its beautiful topography, and a big Tank known as " Govindgarh Talab", prepared by Baghela Kings, it is 15 km south from Rewa.

Rewa also famous for its historical places, you can see Rewa fort along with its museum of antique items. In the center part of the city you can visit summer palace of Baghela's, it is having very beautiful architecture. An underground tunnel is also there which was used as a secret path for kings, now it is open for the public.

We can see Chirahula Temple in Rewa. It is temple of the Lord Hanuman. It is a very famous and big temple.

Khajuha is also a historical place. Khajuha has a statue of the lord shiv. Visitors to the Shiv statue is increasing day by day.

Away from this historical place is a very nice village called Shivapurwa. It`s a natural village. It`s below Kaimore Mount. If we look from the mount. It`s look as a like paradise. Here is two tremendous historical places. One is the Lord Bhairavnath and second one is Baba Kuti. The statue of the Lord Bhairavnath is 21 fit long. It`s not artificial. Baba Kuti is a most beautiful place. There are many types of flowers in Baba Kuti but basically famous for one flower. It`s name is Kebara. It`s smell spreads all over the surrounding area. There are a lot of stone mines in the Kaimore Mount.
