Today, rapper Isaiah Rashad announced his Cilvia Demo 10 Year Anniversary Tour celebrating his debut extended play which was released January 28, 2014 via Top Dawg Entertainment. The limited 8-city run kicks off on Tuesday, January 23 in Anaheim, CA at the House of Blues, with stops across the West Coast in San Diego, Phoenix, Los Angeles and more before wrapping up on Friday, February 2 in San Francisco at The Masonic.

TICKETS Tickets will be available starting with Citi and Artist presales (details below) beginning Wednesday, December 13. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general onsale beginning Friday, December 15 at 10 AM local time at ticketmaster.com .

Musician Isaiah Rashad has officially announced his tour plans for 2024 .

The Tennessee-born MC, known for hits like “Shoot You Down” and “Headshots,” is gearing up for a nationwide run that is sure to please his fans.

The tour will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Isaiah’s debut album, Cilvia Demo , which was released in 2014. The album features guest appearances from SZA and ScHoolboy Q and helped springboard Isaiah’s career.

Fans of the rapper can join the Cilvia Demo celebration as the tour plans to stop in major cities across the U.S.

Isaiah announced the news in a post on Instagram, inviting his OG supporters to come to a performance.

“Gotta give [thanks] to the folks (y'all) that's been holding it down [for real] the last ten years,” he wrote . “Got some vinyls for the folks that love Cilvia damn near more than I do.”

Isaiah Rashad revealed the dates for his 2024 'Cilvia Demo' tour.

Isaiah’s tour will run from January to February of 2024 with stops in places like San Diego and Las Vegas. Tickets for the show range from $96 to $264 – depending upon the tour stop.

Tickets can be purchased on Isaiah’s website or via Ticketmaster.

Who is joining Isaiah Rashad on his 2024 tour? We have predictions.

Upon announcing his Cilvia Demo tour, Isaiah did not mention if there would be an opening act or any guest appearances. However, it is likely that one of the rapper’s former collaborators could join a stop on the tour.

SZA, Jean Deaux, Michael Da Vinci, ScHoolboy Q, and Jay Rock were all on Isaiah’s debut album and they have seemingly maintained close relationships with the rapper since.

Isaiah previously opened for Schoolboy Q on tour while SZA is Isaiah’s labelmate and close friend. She even gushed over Isaiah under his Instagram post announcing the tour, writing , “Oh dis gone be crazy.”

Will Isaiah Rashad extend his 'Cilvia Demo' tour?

Isaiah has yet to announce plans to extend his Cilvia Demo tour and some fans are feeling left out.

The artist plans to only make stops in cities on the West Coast, leaving some envious.

“Isaiah Rashad going on tour and said f--k the whole east coast,” one fan tweeted . Another added , “I hope Isaiah Rashad has a second leg of his 10-year Cilvia Demo tour that travels out East because we need that.”

While the tour seems limited, there's a chance that Isaiah may extend its run if the first leg is successful. In the meantime, fans unable to attend the currently scheduled shows will just have to hang on to hope.

With 2024 marking the 10th anniversary of Isaiah Rashad ‘s classic Cilvia Demo debut project, the rapper has pulled out all the stops.

After initially embarking on a West Coast anniversary tour back in January, Rashad has extended the commemorative run to the East Coast, set to bring the Cilvia Demo 10th Anniversary Tour Pt. 2 to a handful of new cities.

Tickets go on sale Friday, April 19 at 10:00AM on Ticketmaster.com and in person at the Pier 17 Box Office. Please note the Pier 17 Box Office will be open from 10:00AM – 6:00PM on Friday, April 19 only. Normal Box Office operating hours will resume Saturday, April 20. Pier 17 Box Office’s normal operating hours are 12:00PM – 6:00PM on Mondays through Saturdays, plus evenings of hosted concerts.

Him being my favorite rapper, Isaiah's Sunny concert did not at all disappoint. I get easily bothered being in such a dense crowd, being pushed around as we all dance to the beats, but last night I was too distracted having fun to notice. He did notably take his time to come out but Jay IDK, his opener, and his DJ stalled with some dope music.

THE KID DID HIS THANG ISAIAH RASHAD HAD ATLANTA LIT WITH HIS ALBUMS THE SUN'S TIRADE AND CIVIL DEMO. GREAT PERFORMANCE! HIS ENERGY WAS GREAT AND ENDLESS. WHEN HE FELL HE GOT UP AND ACT LIKE IT DIDN'T EVEN HAPPEN VERY SMOOTH. SHOUT OUT TO T.D.E!

Hands down best hip hop performance ive ever seen. Rashad is the truth, the crowd was mad hype...mos def a smoker friendly concert. Everyone in that show was moving and singing every single lyric to his songs.

Skiiwalker was alright. The show really started with Jay idk! And the crowd went freaking crazy when Isaiah rashad came out! There were mosh pits everywhere haha but if only it was a smoke friendly venue..

Amazing performer. Iv seen cole,kdot, Joey bada$$,mos def, big sean, yg, Denzel Curry, Mick Jenkins, etc.. and his show was the best. Especially at under $20. Definitely an experience that I'll remember.

This concert was amazing. The man definitely did his thing. He is a good performer. The songs were amazing, sound was good. The venue was small and tight but I'd definitely go again. Best 20$ spent

Basically, Isaiah's fantastic. Genuinely genuinely incredible show. I entered not expecting much (even though I'm a huge fan of Isaiah) and left absolutely stunned. Make sure you see him live.

Isaiah Rashad’s Coachella performance displayed a strength he shouldn’t have needed

Rapper’s powerful set illustrated how far hip-hop has come and how much further the genre has to go

“Y’all kept me alive these last couple months,” Isaiah Rashad told the crowd during his powerful performance during the first weekend of this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. 

Rashad’s set should have been the culmination of his ascent to superstardom after his 2021 masterpiece, The House Is Burning , solidified him as a consistently great artist. But this year, Rashad experienced a public devastation that threatened to end his career. In February, a video circulated on the internet that allegedly depicted the Top Dawg Entertainment rapper engaged in sexual acts with another man. In short, the video outed him.

Hip-hop has had a complicated and often oppressive history with queerness. Anti-gay slurs have been prevalent in its lyrics for decades and a rapper’s greatness is often only as stout as his masculinity. If you grew up as a rap fan in the ’90s and 2000s, you heard the rumors all over barbershops and even hip-hop publications about the so-called Gay Rapper — a boogeyman who lived in the culture in secret, purporting to be straight, but behind closed doors would prowl for straight rappers and executives on their way to the top of the industry. In those days, a rapper being outed as gay would be a career death sentence.

Rashad’s cathartic performance at Coachella, one of the biggest music festivals in the world, illustrates how far hip-hop has come and how much further the genre has to go.

While there are some successful queer male rappers out today — Tyler, The Creator and Lil Nas X among them — they came out on their own terms. Rashad wasn’t given that choice. He was victimized by anti-gay bias via a video shared without his consent. He spent the two months that followed the incident away from the spotlight. Until April 16.

Rashad’s Coachella set opened with a 90-second video aggregating some of the reactions to the video that outed him, including sound bites from fellow emcee The Game, who expressed his support for the Chattanooga, Tennessee, rapper; and Boosie Badazz, who has aimed several anti-gay rants at Lil Nas X in the past, talking about Rashad’s “sins.” Another voice in the opening clip argued that whoever released the video of Rashad had failed to take him down. “The purpose of doing that was to embarrass him,” the person said. “However, it backfired. When his video leaked, his streams and everything went up. He’s up on the charts now.”

The performance was Rashad’s first public acknowledgment of the video, and it was a defiant act of taking back control of the narratives and speculation about his sexuality, his future and his insecurities. As soon as the clip ended, Rashad hit the stage, tearing through his biggest hits and cult classics.

One close-up camera angle showed Rashad possibly shedding a tear as he raps his verse on “Wat’s Wrong” from 2016’s The Sun’s Tirade , a verse that ends with “ lost my God tonight .” Later in the set, Rashad took a break to tell the crowd, “I see all the messages and all the positivity.” His declaration that his fans — rap fans, no less — “kept me alive” hit hard, considering his lyrics lyrics about mortality, mental health and his own addictions that landed him in rehab and nearly derailed his music career some years back.

“I try to just be open,” he told Complex in 2016 . “The only way I could get through most stuff I’ve gone through is by talking about it. Being honest about it with myself. … Not saying stuff to myself just to say it.”

It’s Rashad’s openness that led me to think about his mental health after the video was released in February, and why his Coachella performance felt triumphant. He acknowledged the devastation and put on a fiery set that let the world know he wasn’t going to let a life-changing violation of privacy ruin him.

During his set, he snarled through his verses on “Shot You Down,” “Park” and “Tity and Dolla” to the point of sounding as if he was going hoarse. It felt like he had spent the last two months clamoring to return to the stage.

Of course, the outpouring of support from the fans at Coachella and across the web helped him find that sense of comfort. And while it can be a point of celebration and self-aggrandizing to note the progress it represents for fans to embrace Rashad in spite of the video and his sexuality, that’s still part of the problem. The only reason there’s any controversy to begin with is because outing people against their will is a central tenet of anti-gay violence, one that has always been an integral component of discrediting a rap foe during disputes. The video dominated conversations on social media and Clubhouse for weeks — with declarations from far too many people that they wouldn’t support him anymore.

Rashad finds himself carrying hip-hop’s history and potential on his shoulders. For one night, he handled it with the tenacity that makes his performances so captivating. In the long run, though, I hope Rashad — and anyone who follows in his footsteps — can enjoy the freedom of performing and being great on their own terms. And in pursuit of their own happiness.

SZA review – voyage of a lifetime with genre-busting R&B superstar

AO Arena, Manchester On an astonishing nautical-themed stage set, the US singer moves elastically between intimate and epic scales, with songs of great candour and versatility

O n the approach to any arena, you can normally get a good sense of the headliner by looking at the people outside. Not so much SZA . The hordes that await the opening night of the American singer’s UK SOS tour are overwhelmingly female, but their subcultural uniform is an incongruous mix: cargo pants and cowboy boots, headscarves and high-contrast mesh, designer slogan T-shirts and grungy babydoll slips. It’s a glorious sight, showing that music really does bring people together.

Seemingly, this is exactly the way that SZA wants it. If Drake, the Weeknd and Kanye West defined the 2010s with their dark, sad-boy reinventions of gangsta rap, then SZA offered up a feminine side of the narrative, espousing her sass but still succumbing to hunger for social approval and ill-advised intimacy. The first female signee to Top Dawg Entertainment (Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Isaiah Rashad), her debut album Ctrl was a seismic breakthrough – nominated for four Grammys, its bad-bitch anthems still confessed to an insecurity that lay beneath. 2022’s follow-up SOS had the same lyrical brief but an even greater sonic palette, establishing SZA as someone who shares listeners’ ever-diversifying tastes, tapping into anything and everything that moves her.

Transforming through various nautical-themed sets, SZA’s show enacts this versatility. She is poised on the tip of a diving board for opener PSA (as she is on the cover of SOS, replicating a Princess Diana image); with a gasp, she falls and emerges on an LED-stacked shipwreck, moving through Seek & Destroy’s fluid choreography. No matter how loud her live band wails or how energetically her dancers flock, her voice always rises above, daring the audience to outdo her clambering ad-libs. She soon gets her wish on Love Galore: when collaborator Travis Scott pops out of the ship’s parapet, the screams amplify to fingers-in-your-ears-decibels, enthusiastic arms moving as if swatting off invisible birds.

Introducing an A-list guest star so early could be a reckless move, but in a 30-song set, SZA never wastes a minute. Ghost In the Machine and Blind are a smart shift of intellectual-indie pace, while the cheeky, tropical Kiss Me More reminds the crowd that she can also do straight chart pop.

For the opening of her third act, we’re transported inside a submarine control room that feeds live footage from backstage, cameras trained on her face as stagehands buzz around her next sartorial change. Before you can take in the Truman Show elegance of it, she’s already floating out on the Sufjan Stevens-style seas of Blind, head-banging her way through the pop-punk of F2F, and belting out fan-favourite Drew Barrymore cross-legged on the floor, trading lines with the teary crowd upfront (“I get so lonely I forget what I’m worth,” she confides; “We get so lonely we pretend that this works,” they echo back). Not long after, she ditches the main stage entirely in favour of an orange lifeboat that sails above the crowd, dispatching handfuls of confetti and sharing more beautifully heartfelt ballads about an ex-partner of 11 years who cruelly “blocked her on everything”.

It’s this elastic, seamless back-and-forth between intimate personability and big-production polish that makes SZA’s live show a marvel. For her closer, she slow-writhes through breakthrough single The Weekend, before ultimately ending on the dreamy Good Days, back on the diving board and bathed in sunset gold. It’s an understated finish, but one befitting an artist who trusts the message of their own catalogue, knowing that to end on straightforward R&B optimism does not undo the rich variety that has been showcased before. The ultimate message is clear: wherever R&B is headed next, you can rely on SZA to steer the ship.
