Value of Highline vs Comfortline (with all options)

Does the comfortline have the panoramic sunroof? When I bought mine, I think only the highline did

Wow. That's a lot of wheels. The 115v rear plug is great to have.

the 16 MY Wagon will all have a 1 inch rim size upgrade across all trim levels plus a lot of new tech........ Best to wait if possible....

Aside from power leather seats and bigger wheels, it looks like the other differences are: sport seats, LED interior lighting, ambient interior lighting, some interior/exterior trim differences, and forward collision warning. From that perspective, it seems like you're better off loading up the lower model and saving some cash. But it depends if you want the leather seats, bigger wheels, and forward collision warning - the other stuff is meh. The other challenge may be that although it's possible to get a Comfortline loaded up in theory, the dealers may not order them that way so it'll be tough to actually get one that way.

It takes one idiot to lay $4k in extras. Then companies will believe everyone will think the same. Dealers get pissed when I shop cars. Brag about this, zero apr, this and that. I tell them you can sell me that car, with zero apr, fully loaded, with the same price of a non fully loaded, you'll still make money on the sale, and we both know they're near the same to manufacture, just different stuff bolted in it. Awkward silence. And then I'll add it'll end up being like the one I drove here in, worn out, scratched, rusted, and a half million miles, and it's worth $600 from Padnos, that I paid $30k for. Awkward silence. /me shrugs. I've been called and *******, but it's because I seem to not lie by bluntly pointing out the truth. Don't like it, change it. Rant over. Don't spend $4k on $1k worth of options.  

The dealers make the most money from the options. You could haggle the price easier on the loaded vs bare bones one. Dealers also work out their loss numbers more off of a trade in vs the actual new car. From my personal experience.

You can't have HL sport seats and interior upgrades LED lighting brushed aluminum roof rails in CL [Not that everyone is a fan of such upgrades, to each his/her own but the difference is more than just multimedia even if you add all of the options available on CL]. We test drove CL and HL the same night same route one after the other and yes in this case OEM sport suspension is like day and night difference handling/feel wise. Already have a set of winters for the 2012 on steel wheels. Same offset bolt pattern so it will fit Mk7. The link works fine for me. Maybe right click and select "Open in new window".

Moscow’s 2012 International Automobile Salon presented more new cars

On Sept. 9, the Moscow International Automobile Salon (MIAS) welcomed its last visitors. Over the entire course of the exhibition, Moscow welcomed more than 1 million people who came to see the international auto industry's latest products. The show proved to be the largest motor show in Russian history.

It could not, however, be said that the show was exceptional in terms of new models. In actual fact, there were more genuine premieres - that is, absolutely new vehicles - in 2010. But the show's exhibition space, in general, and the size of the companies' stands was truly impressive. Two pavilions completely packed with cars and one pavilion just for spare parts had never been seen before. The motor show was not only a presentation of the latest models and newest technologies and concepts, but also an event where the whole family could simply have a good time.

Three days before the official closing ceremony of the Moscow International Automobile Salon (MIAS), the organizers of the exhibition revealed the results of this year's competition for the title of best car in the motor show. The jury was made up of salon-approved journalists who were asked to complete the questionnaires for the competition.

The grand prix in the "Dream Car" category was an obvious choice: the Bentley Continental GT Speed. It turned out that this was the supercar of which the majority of journalists had been dreaming.  Meanwhile, the little Smart car won in the "Best City Car" category. This was the car's debut on the Russian market:  Smart vehicles had not previously been officially sold there.

The supercharged crossover Mini John Cooper Works was declared "Bestn Small Car”. The members of the jury were evidently won over by the car's features. This Mini is equipped with a 1.6 liter, 218 horsepower turbo engine. The Mazda 6 – the most genuine premiere in the show- proved to be the best medium-size vehicle, with the Mazda stand was also winning the title of most beautiful stand at the motor show.

The relatively affordable Toyota Camry, with its 2-liter engine and simplified gearbox took home the "Best Business-Class Car" prize, while  the luxury Rolls-Royce Ghost saloon won in the "Best Luxury Car" category. Renault’s Zoe electric car also won an award for the “Best Electric Car” in show.

However, the main category at MIAS was most likely "Best Prototype". Here, the jury gave first place to AvtoVAZ, for the winning XRay concept car. This was indeed the most respectable prototype in the history of the Russian motor giant, so the victory appeared well-deserved.

This year in Moscow, apart from the displays, it was also possible to enjoy a new performance by the Honda-developed Asimo robot and to test your strength in vehicle simulators of various types - from normal stationary models to the most realistic replicas featuring hydraulic cabins and 3D sound. The smallest visitors at the motor show had a chance to demonstrate their knowledge of the Highway Code and take part in entertaining games – for prizes, of course.

The next international motor show in Moscow will not take place until 2014.

Title : Active carbons as nanoporous materials for solving of environmental problems

However, up to now, the main carriers of catalytic additives have been mineral sorbents: silica gels, alumogels. This is obviously due to the fact that they consist of pure homogeneous components SiO2 and Al2O3, respectively. It is generally known that impurities, especially the ash elements, are catalytic poisons that reduce the effectiveness of the catalyst. Therefore, carbon sorbents with 5-15% by weight of ash elements in their composition are not used in the above mentioned technologies. However, in such an important field as a gas-mask technique, carbon sorbents (active carbons) are carriers of catalytic additives, providing effective protection of a person against any types of potent poisonous substances (PPS). In ESPE “JSC "Neorganika" there has been developed the technology of unique ashless spherical carbon carrier-catalysts by the method of liquid forming of furfural copolymers with subsequent gas-vapor activation, brand PAC. Active carbons PAC have 100% qualitative characteristics of the three main properties of carbon sorbents: strength - 100%, the proportion of sorbing pores in the pore space – 100%, purity - 100% (ash content is close to zero). A particularly outstanding feature of active PAC carbons is their uniquely high mechanical compressive strength of 740 ± 40 MPa, which is 3-7 times larger than that of  such materials as granite, quartzite, electric coal, and is comparable to the value for cast iron - 400-1000 MPa. This allows the PAC to operate under severe conditions in moving and fluidized beds.  Obviously, it is time to actively develop catalysts based on PAC sorbents for oil refining, petrochemicals, gas processing and various technologies of organic synthesis.

Victor M. Mukhin was born in 1946 in the town of Orsk, Russia. In 1970 he graduated the Technological Institute in Leningrad. Victor M. Mukhin was directed to work to the scientific-industrial organization "Neorganika" (Elektrostal, Moscow region) where he is working during 47 years, at present as the head of the laboratory of carbon sorbents.     Victor M. Mukhin defended a Ph. D. thesis and a doctoral thesis at the Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia (in 1979 and 1997 accordingly). Professor of Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia. Scientific interests: production, investigation and application of active carbons, technological and ecological carbon-adsorptive processes, environmental protection, production of ecologically clean food.
