Drew Binsky

Drew Binsky [1] (born: May 24, 1991 ( 1991-05-24 ) [age 33] ), better known online as Drew Binsky , is an American YouTuber that does a wide variety of travel videos .

Binsky was born in Dallas, Texas and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, he is an American YouTuber that makes videos about his experiences in every country he visits and the stories he finds. His original plan was to visit every country in the world, which he completed in October 2021. He goes to a country and reviews what's unique in a specific country. For example, he reviewed Lebanon and said that people there are multilingual and they have Byblos as the oldest surviving city in the world, to name a few facts that he said.

Sometimes, he shows one of these facts about a specific country in the thumbnail and title and talks about it. For example, he talked about Tuvalu, a country, having the domain name .tv , and the country gaining an income of 5 million dollars yearly over it.

Overall, although he primarily does travel videos, he occasionally talks about other stuff and stories, like the world's most addictive drug (the betel nut) and Mike Posner manually walking across the United States.

"Binsky" was a nickname given to him by his family, of Jewish origin.

He attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison, which he graduated in 2013 with degrees in economics and entrepreneurship.

As of October 2021 he has visited every country in the world, with his final country being Saudi Arabia.

History [ ]

He was born on May 24, 1991 in Dallas, Texas, United States and grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona, United States. His parents was bought him a globe at his 8th birthday then he spin it and memorize all the countries/capital/flags. He attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison, graduating in 2013 with degrees in economics and entrepreneurship, despite his previous tendency of partying often and getting bad grades back in 2010, as he mentioned in one of his YouTube posts. [2] During his junior year in college, he entered into a study abroad program in Prague, Czech Republic. He studied there for a semester, during which time he traveled to more than 20 countries across Europe.

Binsky launched his YouTube channel on July 25, 2012, and uploaded a video on the same day. His first video is about him trying to speak Czech .

On late 2022 (around August or September), his channel was hacked by someone impersonating ARK Invest, deleted (or at least privatized) all of his videos, and livestreamed a crypto stream starring Elon Musk. [3] However, he was on a golf trip with his dad in Wisconsin, and his fiancée Deanna tried to inform him to get his channel back and contact his manager AJ. He got in contact with a man named Zachary and was helpful in this situation. YouTube noticed and brought the channel back to Drew.

Border 197 [ ]

Border 197 is a potential 90-minute documentary that is going to be shot in his final six countries; Palau, Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Ecuador, Venezuela and Jamaica. This documentary is going to be different from his typical videos because it will cover Drew's personal experiences and what he learned after visiting every country. It will not cover a compilation of his travels. Chris Weddings and Drew Binsky are creating this documentary together. It will be released somewhere in December 2021. [4]

  • He was born the same day Eritrea gained independence.
  • Binsky is Jewish.
  • He spent 18 months there and traveled to 20 countries in Asia during that time. He quit his teaching job in January 2015 and began focusing on traveling full-time.
  • This girl is also generally ethnically, racially and genetically different from Binsky. This is called an interracial relationship and he made a video about it .
  • They tied the knot on February 14, 2023 and held their wedding in the Philippines.
  • He used to have a blog named "The Hungry Partier", [7] which he sold it to someone and then created a new blog by his name.
  • He is a scratch golfer, EDM music lover, people-person, and he holds 2 Guinness World Records.
  • However, due to the pandemic, he moved to Los Angeles, and bought a home in Phoenix with his then-fiancĂ©e Deanna in May 2021.
  • Drew is a massive fan of golf, having made several videos about the sport and have played the sport in several dozen countries.
  • Drew Binsky doesn't want to go to Chad again due to his experience there, he was attacked by a man because he shot a photo of a kid sitting next to him, he also was caught in a police chase. Furthermore, he had to do the filming indoors because it is illegal to film outside in Chad. After that, he was in Togo unexpectedly for 24 hours because his flight to Bamako, Mali was cancelled.
  • According to Drew Binsky, Libya's visa was the hardest visa he had ever got. There wasn't any embassy in his country (the United States), so he had to take a flight to Rome, the capital of Italy. In Rome, there is a satellite embassy which is like a normal embassy, however, the guy that had Drew's passport wasn't very responsive, but after a week, he got it and it cost $3000. When he came, he was forced to stay in Tripoli due to the ongoing civil war in Libya. In the night, he also heard explosions in the distance and got woken up.
  • Drew Binsky lived in Seoul, South Korea for two years and worked as an English teacher. During his experience he learned the Korean Language.
  • One of Binsky's most popular videos is him visiting Wim Hof, the proclaimed "ice man", in his house and tested his method in a barrel full of ice, as shown in the picture above, but in that picture, there is only Wim Hof. 5 minutes later, he went inside Hof's house.

Man who’s visited every country in the world says best place he's visited has ‘everything you could want’

Man who’s visited every country in the world says best place he's visited has ‘everything you could want’

Drew binsky has visited every country on the planet.

A man who has visited every country in the world has opened up about his best and worse experiences, revealing one problem he ran into is very common for Americans.

Travelling is fun, there's no doubt about that. Whether you're a 'sit by the pool drinking Pina Coladas' kind of traveller, or a 'get up and go' explorer, there's a lot of fun to be had out there.

Drew Binsky, from Arizona, is the ultimate traveler , having visited every country in the world.

Yep, you read that correctly... every country on Earth .

From the Brazilian favelas to the beauties of Greece, Drew has been there and done it.

So, does he have his favorite country? He certainly does and he's even dubbed it ‘everything you could want in one country’.

But not every place he's visited has been so welcoming to Drew, with some being quite a mission to even get in.

Drew has traveled the entire world. (Supplied)

Drew's most difficult experience getting into a country came when he went to Venezuela.

However, speaking to UNILAD, the content creator did note this is particularly the case for Americans.

He explained: "I ended up getting the visa from the Venezuelan embassy but they were difficult because of the sanctions and political tensions between the US and Venezuela, but I was able to get one last minute."

But with all the difficulties of travelling the globe comes some truly remarkable and unforgettable moments.

And for Drew, it's seeing different cultures that really interests him.

"I really like visiting indigenous tribes, because it shows a different side of the world is not so consumed in technology and electronics," he said.

"It's humbling to meet people and see how they're living in faraway places; I plan to keep visiting them [indigenous tribes] mostly in Africa, but also in South America and India."

The content creator has explored different cultures. (Supplied)

Of course, this comes with experiencing new cultures as well, particularly to that present in the US.

So did Drew find it a challenge to adapt?

"Not really, I think it's rewarding I can meet people and document their lives. So it wasn't never really difficult. I never had any issues getting to know other people, and making them comfortable on camera," he said.

While meeting tribes is amazing, there is one country that sticks in Drew's mind as his favorite.

When UNILAD asked him the best country he's ever visited, Drew replied: "I would say the Philippines. I think it's the most beautiful country in the world, super safe and full of nice people.

"It's like everything you could want in one country."

While the Philippines may be his favorite, Drew is planning to live in Dubai with his wife in the future due to the 'culture'.

17 Incredible Travel Hacks

drew travel youtube

Written by Drew Binsky

When it comes to traveling, strategy is key! The better prepared you are, the smoother your trip will go. Today we’re going to discuss 17 incredible travel hacks; whether you’re an experienced traveler or a novice planning your first big trip, you’re sure to find something on this list you never considered before.

1. Roll your clothes

drew travel youtube

This simple step will save you so much room in your luggage! Take your shirts, pants, underclothes, and even bulkier things like sweatshirts, and roll them as tight as you can before piling them into your suitcase. You’ll be surprised just how much you can fit when you pack this way, and your clothes will likely be less wrinkled than if you folded them.

2. Try Packing Cubes

Try stacking those tight rolls into some packing cubes! You can either use small cubes to pack individual outfits (making getting dressed in the morning a breeze), or you can use bigger cubes and sort by type (shorts, shirts, etc.) These compression cubes are highly recommended and could help you save even more space!

3. Pack Layers, Not Bulk

Another hack in the packing department is to plan to wear layers. Unless you’re headed to Siberia, you probably don’t actually need a big puffy jacket. Try layering a shirt, sweatshirt, and windbreaker to keep warm without having to wrestle a winter jacket into your luggage.

4. Stuff Your Carry-on

If you have both checked bags and carry-ons, make sure you take advantage of all the space! If you’re worried your checked bag is over a weight limit, put heavier things into your carry-on bag to avoid charges. You can also transport more fragile souvenirs this way, especially if you use a hard-sided carry-on like this Samsonite option!

5. Keep Extra Essentials With You

drew travel youtube

You never know what will happen to your checked luggage, especially on long travel days when you have multiple flight transfers. It’s good to get in the habit of keeping a spare set of clothes (as well as a few small toiletries) in your backpack or “day bag,” just in case your luggage gets lost or delayed.

6. Download Google Translate

7. Bring a Pillowcase

drew travel youtube

Not a pillow, just the case. Why? Pillows take up lots of room, but an empty pillowcase can become an emergency pillow with just a few pieces of clothing from your suitcase. The pillowcase can also work as a stuff sack or even a makeshift laundry bag.

8. Change Currency at Your Bank

drew travel youtube

This is one of the more well-known travel hacks because airport currency exchanges are known for having astronomically high rates. Take the time to change your money ahead of time at your local bank, if you can. Otherwise, try and wait and find a bank or currency exchange outside of the airport to get a better rate. Make sure to get yourself a bank account that offers free ATM withdrawls. I use CapitalOne

9. Pack Some Laundry Soap

Whether you use a laundry soap bar like Febreze Fabric Refresher or a detergent specifically designed for traveling like Febreze To-Go Fabric Refresher , you’ll definitely want to have something on hand. Many times when traveling internationally, you won’t have access to a washing machine, so you’ll want to be prepared to wash your clothes in the sink.

10. Consider These Line Skipping Hacks

  • TSA Precheck allows you to get into a dedicated line at US airports, usually much quicker than the regular security line. ($85 for five years.)
  • Global Entry is a program that expedites your reentry into the US through customs. This program includes TSA Precheck and may be the best bang for your buck. ($100 for five years.)
  • Clear is a company operating in major US airports that checks you in using biometrics, then skips you straight to the front of the security line. ($179 each year.)

11. Pack Some Dryer Sheets

drew travel youtube

“Wait, I thought you just said I probably wouldn’t have a dryer?” While you may not have access to a dryer on your trip, dryer sheets are always a good idea. They help keep your luggage smelling fresh and clean, and you can even toss one in your dirty laundry bag to keep it from stinking.

12. If You Need WiFi, Find a Restaurant or Coffee Shop

drew travel youtube

Often, you will find spots where you have to pay for WiFi in airports. Before you do that, try finding a restaurant or coffee shop in the airport that has free WiFi—I promise you, there more than likely is one.

  • ZenMate VPN with safe and limitless online within just 3 steps, within 3 minutes. No technical knowledge is required. VPN is available for all devices.

13. Stuff Your Shoes

drew travel youtube

All that space inside your shoes is wasted when you’re packing a bag! Try stuffing your shoes with socks, underwear, t-shirts, or even small toiletries; this will help you maximize your packing space!

14. Bring a Shower Cap

drew travel youtube

This is one of my favorite travel hacks of all time! There’s nothing worse than having your dirty, dusty, grimy shoes next to your toothbrush or clean clothes. A shower cap makes a great shoe cover so you can keep everything sanitary. (If I stay in hotels with free shower caps, I always snag them for this trick!)

15. Compression Socks for Long Flights

drew travel youtube

If you’ve ever flown on a long international flight, you’ve probably experienced the swollen feet and ankles that often accompany long air travel days. One remedy for this is to wear compression socks on the plane! This will keep the blood flow in your legs moving better, even when you’re sitting still.

16. Bring an Empty Water Bottle

This is great for international or domestic flights—no more buying $5 bottles of water at the airport! Bring an empty reusable water bottle, and then refill it once you’ve gone through security. Whether you use a simple Nalgene like this one or a lightweight, collapsable collapsible water bottle, bringing your own is good for your wallet and good for the environment!

17. Carry Copies of Your Documents

drew travel youtube

This one is super important because you never know what will happen when you’re traveling. I always take a couple of photocopies of my passport, visas, itinerary, other forms of ID, etc., and stick them in all my bags. This way, if (God forbid!) I lose my passport, my phone dies, or I get pickpocketed, I still have a way to try to prove who I am or figure out where I am going.

These are just a few of my favorite travel hacks. What are your favorite travel hacks? Is there anything you think I missed? Let me know!
