Saudi Arabia Tourist Visa and Umrah on Pakistani Passport

Saudi Arabia recently launched a new type of tourist visa allowing people from all over the world to come in Saudi Arabia as tourists and explore the country and spend time in Saudi Arabia. For some countries, It is available online while for others, tourist visa has to be obtained from the Saudi Embassy or consulate in those countries.

Many people have been curious about Saudi Tourist Visa on Pakistani Passport for Pakistani nationals. We will share experience of a Pakistani living in UAE about how he got Saudi Arabia Tourist Visa on Pakistani Passport and how he was able to perform Umrah on tourist visa.

I recently got my visa from VFS Tasheel in UAE ( i am UAE resident, Pakistan Passport). Was given 6-month Tourist Visa Multiple Entry. I recently got back from Saudi Arabia and answering some FAQs for those interested:

Is Umrah allowed on Tourist Visa?

Yes, Umrah is allowed on Tourist Visa. I entered through Jeddah Airport and was in Ihram. Airport immigration officer confirmed that its completely fine to travel to Saudi Arabia on Tourist visa with intention of Umrah.

Do you need a Mahram or can a woman travel alone?

You do not require a Mahram for Tourist visa and Yes women can apply and travel by themselves.

Airport Immigration Experience on Tourist Visa in Saudi Arabia

It was as smooth as it could be. Separate area with sofas and dedicated counters for Tourist Visa holders. I was offered a seat, they took my finger prints, stamped my passport and wished me a blessed trip. No other questions asked.

Visa Process for Applying Saudi Arabia Tourist Visa from UAE on Pakistani Passport

I had posted about it earlier as well. I got it from UAE as i am a resident here. Had to physically go to VFS Tasheel office and apply. Documents required were Bank Statement (3 months + ), photo, NOC from company, hotel booking, flight reservation and itinerary. Processing time was 1 day. Total fee paid was around 495 AED equivalent to 21000 PKR approximately.

 Visa process from Pakistan for Saudi Arabia Tourist Visa

I do Not have first-hand experience from Pakistan. However, i asked the Saudi Immigration Lady about it. She said tourist visa can be obtained from Saudi Embassy in Pakistan but people i know have not had any luck with Etimad. A couple of people i met in Saudi Arabia told me they got it from Saudi Consulate in Islamabad.

I applied e-visa for myself online which I recieved it successfuly within 30 mins-I have UK passport but my wife has pakistani passport. It is mentioned on evisa website that passport holders of Pakistan or any group b countries can apply evisa directly from saudi consulate. So I paid a visit to London Saudi embassy to find out more, however i was told at the gate that only agents can enter in Saudi embassy for visa services, additionally gatekeeper provided me the details of an agent who can help to apply for tourist evisa on Pakistani passport. I contacted that agent who confirmed that they are authorized to apply for tourist visa for group b countries.

I will appy with that agent next week so I will post here if we managed to get it or not.

i read that news that Countries in B Category with valid schengen, UK USA, EU visa on their passport would be able to get tourist visa but i haven't heard anyone got successfully. let us know about your experience and process if it gets through.

I’ve been trying to apply for a tourist e-visa for Saudi and it cost 463 sar which is correct but when I go to pay from my card it says they will take out £463 instead of changing it to £95 can you help me please as I will be travelling to Saudi at the end of this month

it Never happens, in the application it only shows once at final page at bottom total amount to be paid 463 SAR if you are one person and when you click on Pay and it redirect to card details page which is very simple and straight forward after selecting the card type it shows the same amount which was on previous page.

if you still face issue clean up your browser's cache and cookies and open this link in incognito mode and login to pay plus try another card there may be problem with your card.

• You must hold a passport from one of the below listed countries .
• The passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Saudi Arabia.
• Applicant should be minimum 18 years of age . An eVisa application for an underage applicant requires the presence of a parent or guardian.
• You must also have a confirmed return ticket and details of accommodation .

In addition to citizens of these countries, Permanent residents of the United States, United Kingdom and European Union (EU) and holders of tourist or business visas from the UK, US or Schengen Area can also apply for the eVisa.

Note that for holders of tourist or business visas, this visa must have been used at least once, and should have an entry stamp from the issuing country for the holder to be eligible.

Saudi Visa On Arrival Validity

The multiple-entry tourist visa is issued for a year, and allows the holder to stay in the country for up to 90 days .

NOTE: For permanent residents of the UK, US and EU, the multiple or single-entry visa option is going to depend on the decision of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), which issues it on a case-by-case basis.

Application Process

Applicants who qualify for eVisas or visas on arrival can apply in two ways:

1. Before Travel

You can apply for an eVisa online before you travel through the visa.visitsaudi.com platform.

Eligible visitors can also get visas upon arrival at the airport immigration counter.

You will need to provide the following documents:

• A valid passport
• A confirmed return ticket
• Payment for the visa fee and medical insurance fee

After you submit your documents and pay the fees, the immigration officer will process your application. If approved, you will receive a visa stamp in your passport.

Time Required: It takes approximately five to thirty minutes to issue a Saudi eVisa.

Saudi Visa On Arrival Cost

The cost for visa on arrival is SAR 480 which includes medical insurance fees. You can pay with cash or credit card.

The cost for the tourist eVisa is  SAR 535 . The visa cost includes a fee for full health insurance during your stay in Saudi Arabia.

Other Important Information

It is important to note that visa on arrival is not available for all types of travel. If you are planning to work or study in Saudi Arabia, you will need to obtain a visa in advance through the embassy or consulate.

Additionally, if you have previously been deported from Saudi Arabia or have a criminal record, you may not be eligible for a visa on arrival.

Visas are required for all travelers who are going to Pakistan on temporary basis such as tourism, studies, business, and medical treatment. This section provides visa services to Saudi citizens and third country nationals residing in Saudi Arabia. Under the new visa regime, approved by the Government of Pakistan recently, significant changes have been made. The salient features of the liberalized visa regime are:

• Introduction of simplified system of online visa ( visa.nadra.gov.pk ) with fewer documents.
• Visa-on-arrival (VOA) for 50 countries including Saudi Arabia coupled with Electronic Travel Authorization to be issued within 72 hours.
• E-Visa for citizens of 175 countries including Saudi Arabia with simple requirements. Apply online on visa.nadra.gov.pk
• Businessmen of 95 countries including Saudi Arabia can now avail Business Visa on Arrival facility (BVOA).

Consulate General of Pakistan  has stopped the manual processing of visas w.e.f 1st February 2021 except for Indian and Somalian nationals. Please visit online visa portal https://visa.nadra.gov.pk/ for submission of application for online visa (E-visa).

Important Note

• Applicants other than Saudi nationals should attach a copy of exit /re-entry visas with the application form.
• Passport should be valid for at least a period of six months.
• Pakistan origin foreign nationality holders having valid Pakistan Origin Card (POC) are entitled to Pakistani visa provided their POC is valid. Such applicants will have to follow all visa procedure except payment of “visa fee”. In case of expired POC, the applicant will have to pay the fee.
• Ex-Pakistan nationals having nationality of those countries with whom Pakistan has “dual nationality agreement” should have a valid computerized national identity card or National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) to obtain free Pakistani visa. Such applicants will follow all the procedure for issuance of visa except for the payment of visa fee.
• Foreign nationals visiting the Kingdom for Umra, Hajj or visit are not issued visa from Pakistan Consulate General, Jeddah. Such persons are advised to get visa for Pakistan from Pakistan’s diplomatic mission in their countries before their arrival in Saudi Arabia.
