A family-run lodge named Eland Safaris is located close to the Botswana border in Limpopo Province, South Africa. Founded by Alex and Johnny Thomson with the support of their father in 2006, the safari company grew to include their wives Tamryn and Janeske and their children. The combined experience of our team is over 35 years.
As a company, we take our work seriously. Our organisation is a member of PHASA, SCI, DSC, and we are also a lifetime member of NRA. Our company is honoured to be part of Craig Boddington's endorsement outfitter program since 2017, as well as Hunt Africa and African Dawn Outfitter program.
We offer hunters and visitors the opportunity to view and hunt 25 species of plains game and the Big Five. As far as antelopes go, the Eland is our most popular. We live and breathe the bushveld at Eland Safaris! Every visit is an opportunity to experience South Africa through our eyes. Eland Safaris sees clients as friends and family, making them feel like part of our family from the moment they walk through our doors.

The North West province of South Africa is one of the key tourism destinations in the country as it is home to many world-class landmarks and sites. From its unspoilt bushveld to luxurious resorts, North West is a true reflection of the beautiful contrasts in South Africa and further promises visitors a totally unique experience during their African sojourn. The most famous tourist attraction in these parts is undoubtedly the iconic Sun City along with its focal point, the Lost City.
With everything written about it being an understatement plus a bonanza of exciting activities to embark upon, Sun City is an experience that cannot be missed. With everything written about it being an understatement plus a bonanza of exciting activities to embark upon, Sun City is an experience that cannot be missed. Other incredible destinations in North West include the famous Hartebeespoort Dam and of course the stunning Pilanesberg National Park, which is the 4th largest park in South Africa and guarantees visitors a game viewing experience like no other. During your visit to North West, the city of Klerksdorp is the ideal home away from home. The discovery of gold in the 1880s made the area a booming hub of energy and activity and today not much has changed; its is an important mining and agricultural sector purported to be the second largest grain cooperative in the world.
Klerksdorp – also known as Matlosana ‘city of the people’ – began as a Voortrekker settlement, with its first monument being the Old Flag Room, which was opened by former president Paul Kruger in 1897. Despite its reliance on mining and agriculture, Klerksdorp is a picturesque city known for its beautiful nature reserves and warm hospitality. Top attractions nearby include the Barberspan Bird Sanctuary, the Bloemhof Dam Nature Reserve, and the Orkney Golf Course.
About Game Lodges
This is the ultimate experience for guests wanting to get close to nature without compromising on comfort. Guests can usually choose to stay half board, with breakfast, lunch and selected drinks covered, or full board, with all meals and selected drinks, at the game lodge of their choice. All guests will enjoy luxury amenities; with unique touches to decor and layout that enhance their stay in gorgeous natural surrounds. Wildlife and birdlife is abundant in the areas the lodges are located in, and guests will often have the opportunity to get up-close and personal with the animals, without leaving the lodge. For those in search of the more reclusive animals in the areas, often including the Big Five, game drives are offered. Getaway and experience the beauty of Africa’s bushlife, while staying in supreme luxury at one of our many Game Lodges.
