We went to Safari Niagara today. It was good. Today was a hot day and we went a little later in the afternoon. The zoo was a decent size, Much larger than some of the zoos that I have been to. There was lots of things to do for smaller children, and there was also paddle boats, and a splash pad. There were also behind the scenes tours that were available as well. It was an okay experience, but we didn't know about the extra tours when we bought our tickets. My teen wanted to feed a giraffe, and was able to. While we enjoyed it, going in the later afternoon after the animals had all been fed was probably not the greatest idea. Many exhibits were empty. I'm guessing because they were part of the tours. I think we would do it differently if we were to do it again. If my child was under 12, this would have been a very good fit. If we had gone earlier in the day, and between shows, this may have been a better fit. I think that the zoo had a lot going for it, but we were not prepared. I think all of the young kids I saw were having a blast though.

Great place and definitely a hidden gem. When compared to the Metro Toronto Zoo, I found this a lot better. The reasons? You can get closer to the animals, and also feed some of them with the treats that are sold. Feeding giraffes was pretty cool. Apparently you can feed hippos but the platform was locked on the day we went. Also included with admission are other activities that are included like kite flying, paddle boats, catch and release fishing, and even a small out door water splash park. There are also shows and demonstrations at certain times through out the day. Exhibits include Camels, African Wild Dogs, Zebras, Giraffes, Hippos, Tigers, Leopoards, Jaguars, Bears, a variety of Birds, Lions, Cougars, Antelopes, Kangaroos, Moose, Elk, and Monkeys among others I can't remember of the top of my head. It's a lot of walking however pay an extra $2 per person and you have access to a tram that comes and picks you up at designated spots. Having said that, comfortable shoes are a must. Food to feed the animals is $1 and is vended through coin operated machines which all use a $1 Canadian coin or "loonie". Vending machines selling pop and water are scattered around the park. My only complaint is the layout of certain parts, mainly the hidden forest as you can unknowingly skip some exhibits. In my opinion, better signage would help with directing people throughout the exhibits. Admission, including the tram was $20 each person. Children 3 and under are free. Wagons can be rented for an extra cost which is $5 I believe. The wagons are a standard size which will fit 2 small children. There is ample parking. If you plan on heading to a zoo and are in the area, this is highly recommended. The only thing to keep in mind is their hours, 9am to 5pm, so to enjoy everything, you'll pretty much need the entire day. We arrived at around 2:30PM and found we only got through half the exhibits and couldn't any of the included free activities.

My family and I had a lot of fun at Safari Niagara (formerly Zooz). Our day was filled wandering around the park, enjoying the activities, and checking out the interesting animals. Being big fans of the Elmvale Zoo (where you can also feed a few of the animals while being up close to them), we were no strangers to friendly giraffes and lounging lions. What we really enjoyed however were the (no additional charge) activities. There's an amazing rope climbing course, a huge playground, a few amusement style rides, a splash pad, paddle boats, and even trampolines, all within easy walking distance to each other. Personally, I suggest starting your day with the rope climbing course so that you don't spend a lot of time waiting in line for it. Pack a lunch, and don't forget to wear a very comfortable pair of shoes. This Zoo has a lot of area to explore and while there's a tram, I think that taking your time to walk the park is worth it.

Fun, but really not put together well. Tons of space and tons of animals. Bathrooms disgusting and reeked from across the lawn. Food extremely expensive. A lot of the animals and enclosures seemed ideal but many of the exhibits were much too small for the animals. Many of the animals were also alone in their exhibits with no friends to keep them company. Most mammals are pack animals, and this zoo decided to keep them alone. On the more positive side, there are tons of animals and tons of things to look at. It's very family-friendly. Lots of stuff for kids to do. The petting zoo was very well put-together with animals that aren't a common sight in petting zoos. Overall a decent experience but there's lots of room for improvement.

This zoo is great! I've been here 3 years I'm a row and it's been great every time! My mom has always got Groupons for the zoo and we have always went in the summer months! I've been to the Toronto zoo before as well and I have to say this zoo is just as good if not better! Sure they may not have all the animals the Toronto zoo has but it has a lot! Safari Niagara has an easy layout so it's not that hard to walk around the park. Also there is a free trolley service for visitors to use which is nice as it takes you around the whole park. The animals here are beautiful and they have a wide variety - everything from jungle cats to giraffes (which you can feed) to birds of prey. Don't let the rural location fool you into thinking this is a small attraction zoo. They have big ticket items as well as small! Also the zoo features a variety of things for families to do ALL INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF ADMISSION! They include peddle boats, go karts, ropes courses and more! Overall this zoo is great!! Highly recommend going to Safari Niagara!!

Wonderful zoo! Very big- but there are short cuts. It is a 5k walk or they have a tram with a really nice man driving it that will take you stop to stop. Don't let the parking lot fool you! Loved it!

It's not often that you encounter such a family friendly venue. Free parking. Being allowed to bring in your own food and drink -awesome! It never feels crowded at Safari Niagara. Today the ride attendant asked the kids if they wanted to stay on the rides. Friendly staff.

Beautiful day to nibble on the trees.

This place is FANTASTIC! Lots of clean area and animals look great and well cared for. Carousel, play areas and splash ground are included in the fee of admission. I got $10 off admission from Groupon. Was about $21 for adults and $18 for kids (after groupon). We even fed a giraffe. Very easy to walk around and take the tram when needed. Hotels should stop touting Marineland and push people here. I give this place an A+++. Lots of free parking and bathrooms. Many hand washing stations and courteous staff. Huge gift shop. Lots of amazing statues built by artist all over this park. Very interesting to look at.

The park has a ton of animals and provided for a nice day with the family. A nice highlight was the restaurant next to an enormous playground. The staff were friendly and professional and the food was reasonably priced for a theme park as well as quite tasty. They have poutine and as a non resident, I can't get enough of the gravy laden stuff. The giraffes, bears and hippos are easy to watch and observe from some nice viewing areas.

Bought a Groupon to here and used it this weekend. Overall it was a good experience. I mean i have mixed feelings about places like this as I like the fact that I can show my kids animals up close but also feel bad as its like the animals are trapped in animal prison for being stupid enough to get caught. Compared to Buffalo Zoo, its a bit different in that you can get closer to the animals but the cages they are in are pretty small. Seems a bit more spread out than Buffalo Zoo too. Mixed feelings on getting the Tram, as it saves you little walking if you want to see the animals up close, as it drives by them, making you walk back to them from the next stop. They do have a nice playground, splash pad, kiddie rides area, that is pretty big. Kids did enjoy playing there. Also paddle boats and fishing can be done at little pond area too. Snack bar is a bit pricey so may want to pack a picnic lunch in a cooler to save some cash. Basically I'd go back on discount tickets, not sure if I would pay full price though.

Way overpriced for what it is. Costs as much as the Toronto Zoo, but maybe a third of what that zoo offers. It's very much still under construction, with many exhibits either brand new or still being worked on. The staff are really nice and friendly, which made this a good experience. However, I'd wait a few years for them to finish building out the park before it'd be worth anywhere near the price they're charging.

Great place. Lots of animals to see. Very clean and well maintained. Informative shows done throughout the day on numerous animals. The only thing is bring your own coffee as none is available for purchase in the park

Cannot say enough good things about this place. Very large so there is a lot to see. There is also multiple jungle gyms, a splash pad, petting zoo area and some bouncy thing for kids. There is also a catch and release fishing area and paddle boats. Really has everything. I spent 6 hours here the other day just seeing the animals, the presentations and doing the giraffe behind the scenes tour. You can feed the giraffes and the rhinos after the shows. I recommend going to the hippo presentation, otherwise you won't really see them out of the water. I wish the otter cage was a bit better set up. I've never seen them out which is fine but I think they would come out more if there was more to their outdoor exhibit. The map for the zoo is ....well...you kind of gotta use your imagination ..

Went with the kids. There didn't seem to be a lot of animals out in the park. Most were either sleeping in their dens or hiding. Nice place, not too big. There's a few playgrounds also for the kids to play at. And there's a hop on/hop off tram service that's constantly rising around the park if you want a grand tour instead of exploring yourself....

Very impressed with the staff. I stopped by today and attended 2 different talks given by the Haley and Chris. I asked a ton of questions about the animals and the service that they provide. I was very impressed with their knowledge and passion for the animals. Loved the isolated location for the animals. Very kid friendly and fun for adults. Loved all of the info plaques on better informing the public about the animals, different regions that they live, and info on the impact that humans make on the wildlife. Would definitely recommend going.
