Pelling which is one of the most beautiful hamlet in Sikkim, at an altitude of 6,800 ft. seems to present picturesque views before your eyes. Here you will enjoy the majestic, beauty of Mt. Kanchenjunga which is not far from here, during sunrise and sunset. Tranquil landscape and unpolluted surroundings make Ravangla a favourite destination for the tourists. Ravangla, in situated amidst Gangtok and Pelling. The pictures of green fields being multicolored by various known and unknown flowers will make you spellbound. It has also beautiful views of snow clad mountain and peaks. Upper, part of Ravangla experiences snowfall during winter. Namchi is situated at an altitude of 1,675 m (5500 feet) above sea level. Namchi lies off the road between Melli and Jorethang. Namchi commands panoramic view of the snow capped mountains and vast stretches of valley. It is also headquarters of South district. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 :drive from njp / ixb / siliguri to namchi ( 4,315 ft. ). overnight stay at namchi.

"Meet & greet"  with our company representative on arrival at  NJP / IXB / Siliguri  and drive to  Namchi ,   On the way enjoy Namchi local sightseeing (Chardham / Solophok, Sirdi Sai Temple, Samdruptse, Central Park). After arrival at Namchi, check-in & get fresh. Enjoy your leisure evening at local bazaar by walk at your own. Overnight stay at hotel in  Namchi.  

Day 2 :Ravangla Sightseeing

After breakfast drive to Rabangla via Temi Tea Garden. On the way enjoy Buddha Park sightseeing . After arrival at Ravangla, check-in & get fresh. Enjoy your leisure evening at local bazaar by walk at your own. Overnight stay at hotel in  Ravangla .

Day 3 :Ravangla to Pelling

After breakfast check-out from hotel, & drive towards Pelling. After arrival at Pelling check-in at hotel, get fresh. Spend your leisure evening at local market area by walk at your own. Overnight stay at hotel in  Pelling.

Day 4 :Pelling Sightseeing

After breakfast go for Pelling local sightseeing, (Pelling view from Helipad, Rock Garden, Kanchendzonga water falls, Khecheopalri lake, Rimbi water falls, Rabdentse Palace Ruins, Pemayagtnse Monastery, Singshor Bridge, Darap village.). Day 5 :Drive to NJP/ IXB / Siliguri

After breakfast drive to  NJP / IXB / Siliguri  ( 138 km., 4-5 hrs. )  for your onward journey by Train/Flight.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Policy regarding cancellation / no show / early departure.

In case of cancellation of tour/travel services due to any avoidable/unavoidable reason/s we must be informed in writing. Cancellation charges would be effective from the date we receive letter in writing and cancellation charges would be as follows:

• 30 days & prior to arrival – 10% of the tour/service cost.
• 20 days to 18 days prior to arrival – 20% of the tour/service cost.
• 14 days to 16 days prior to arrival – 25% of the tour/service cost.
• 10 days to 08 days prior to arrival – 50% of the tour/service cost.
• 07 days & less, prior to arrival or no show – NO REFUND.

Please note – Irrespective of above mentioned cancellations slabs – in case of cancellation of tour services after the booking is made with us – a minimum 10% service charges would be applicable.

In case you cancel the trip after commencement refund would be restricted to a limited amount that too would depend on the amount that we would be able to recover from the hoteliers we patronize. For unused hotel accommodation, chartered transportation and missed meals etc. we do not bear any responsibility to refund.

In regard to refund of unused / unutilized services (which are paid for and cancelled in advance) the refund amount would be worked out on the basis of cancellation policy as described above and the money would be accordingly refunded to the person who has made the payment to us. Please note that the refund process may take 2 – 4 weeks due to banking procedures. If the refund is made to the credit card account OR to Bank account, the bank charges would be debited from the refund amount.

We availed services from NatureWings for our Sikkim Darjeeling Tour last month December 12, 2019. We had a great time and our itinerary was smoothly and efficiently managed without any hiccups. Special mention for Indrajit and Arpan who catered to our grievances immediately. The hotels were good and booked in some of the top localities across Sikkim and Darjeeling with good accessibility and all the transport facilities and vehicles were excellent. We would specially like to mention our driver in Darjeeling Mr. Pritam for his outstanding service and punctuality. Overall we found the package to be a little expensive since we had to pay separately for Nathula and zero point (total of Rs 6500 for both since it was subject to availability of vehicle permit) and an additional Rs 1200 for a halt at Buddha Park in Ravangla. I would like to give a minor suggestion to the team to include major tourist points that fall on the way for eg. in our case Chardham at Namchi and Buddha Park at Ravangla fell on our way to Pelling from Gangtok.

We went to Sikkim December 12, 2019 and had a great time. Naturewings made our trip smooth and beautiful.

There are so many famous hill stations in India where you can enjoy great weather, luxury hotels and Himalayan views. While you can easily take a trip to Dalhousie-Khajjar-Chhamba on a weekend, you can’t do that with Pelling located in the remote north-east.

To take a trip to Sikkim, you need to plan ahead and free-up 5-6 days of your busy schedule at the least. So, the obvious question follows – “Is Pelling worth visiting”?

Pelling is a picturesque town in west Sikkim where you can enjoy pleasant climate throughout the year. It’s way less crowded than the capital Gangtok but even more lovely.

Most famous for the resplendent views of Kanchenjunga, Pelling has a mystic old-world charm with its Buddhist monasteries, quaint pilgrimage sites, hidden waterfalls, and friendly locals.

For me the biggest highlights of Pelling are its weather and the views of Kanchenjunga peak – the third highest mountain peak in the world.

When we visited Sikkim in winter , Pelling gave us the much-needed warmth after the chilling temperatures in North Sikkim and even in Gangtok.

When we visited Pelling in the summer, we got the much-needed respite from the pan-fry heat of Kolkata .

Pelling is a great place for every kind of traveler – mountaineers, families on vacation, couples looking for luxury experiences, budget backpackers – the young and the old. Solo travelling might be expensive out here due to lack of accessible public transport.

Pelling Sightseeing – Exploring the Pivotal Town of West Sikkim

The local transportation in Pelling is not good. So, the best way to go for sightseeing in Pelling is by hiring a cab. Pelling sightseeing comprises of majestic waterfalls, river, Buddhist pilgrimage, Sikkimese history and modern engineering marvels.

Though it’s a small town, you can sense a drastic drop in temperature as you move up from the river-plains to the Kanchenjunga waterfalls or further up. Here’s a look at the best places to visit in Pelling, ranked in order of my preference. 

Rabdentse Ruins

I love exploring ruins. Somehow, they attract me more than stunning new architecture. So, no wonder, the site of Rabdentse ruins is my favorite place in Pelling.

The history of Rabdentse Ruins traces back to the 17th century when it served as the second capital of the Kingdom of Sikkim. Established by Tensung Namgyal, Rabdentse flourished as a center of political and cultural significance during its time.

The capital was strategically located atop a ridge, providing natural defense against potential invasions. In the late18th century it was abandoned and fell into ruin following a series of conflicts with neighboring kingdoms.

Over the years, nature reclaimed much of the once-thriving city, leaving behind scattered remnants that now form the Rabdentse Ruins.

Today, these ruins stand as a testament to Sikkim’s rich history and attract visitors who come to explore the site’s ancient architecture and immerse themselves in its historical significance. It is accessible for free for anyone who can hike about 1.5 km through the forests.

Besides exploring the ruins, you can also enjoy the panoramic views from the top. Notable sights include the Sangchoeling monastery and the Kanchenjunga peak. 

Sidkeong Bird Park

The first time we visited Sikkim, this was the most underwhelming experience for me. With an entry ticket price of rs.50, the bird park offered nothing but a walk across a hanging bridge to a huge, netted area to see few not-so-rare species of birds.

However, in three years a lot has changed, and this has developed into a beautiful park, especially suitable for families with children. Named after the 10th Chogyel (monarch) of Sikkim, Sidkeong Tulku, it is a beautifully decorated park in the wetlands between Rabdentse and Pemyantse. 

Pemyangtse Monastery

The name “Pemayangtse” translates to “Perfect Sublime Lotus” in Tibetan. Over the centuries, the monastery has undergone several renovations and expansions, evolving into an architectural marvel.

Photography is prohibited inside the monument to maintain sanctity of the place. As you take off your shoes and enter the monastery, a sense of awe engulfs you.

As I ascended the steep staircases with my 1.5-year-old, I should have been practically scared. Instead, I was lost in the charm of the intricate woodwork and vivid murals.

I was a little surprised to see what certainly looked like a painting of Ganesha among the murals. Buddhists don’t believe in Hindu Gods. But what do I know about spirituality? There’s so much to Indic religions and spirituality that transcends these man-made differences.

Pelling Skywalk and Chenrezig statue

Situated on a hilltop, this glass-bottomed skywalk is a modern engineering marvel of Sikkim. Walking on the transparent pathway, suspended high above the ground, gives you a sensation of “walking in the sky”.

As you venture along the skywalk, the breathtaking vistas of snow-capped mountains, lush valleys, and cascading waterfalls unfold before your eyes. 

But what stands out is the path leading to the huge Chenrezig statue. Like in Buddha Park of Ravangla , the statue sits atop a temple that you can enter and learn more about Buddhism in. 

Sangcholing Monastery

Sangachoeling monastery is located a short hike away from the Pelling Skywalk. It is the oldest surviving monastery of Sikkim, this 17th-century monument is also known as the “place of secret spells”.

Perched on a hilltop amidst lush greenery, Sangachoeling offers a tranquil and serene ambiance that enhances the spiritual experience.

The monastery houses intricate statues, vibrant thangkas, and sacred scriptures, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Tibetan Buddhism. As you walk on the stone steps leading to the monastery, you’re rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and majestic Himalayan peaks.

Kanchanjunga Falls

Surrounded by lush green forests and pristine landscapes, Kanchenjunga Falls offers a serene and refreshing atmosphere.

With a ticket price of Rs. 10, you can ascend a flight of around 50 steps to see this natural splendor. The pristine ice-cold water plunge into the pool inviting visitors to take a dip.

Rimbi River Rock Garden

The Rimbi River Orange Garden , is a delightful and vibrant agricultural attraction. Situated along the banks of the picturesque Rimbi River, this orange garden is a testament to Sikkim’s rich horticultural heritage.

In winter, the visitors can stroll through the garden, enjoying the fresh scent of citrus and marveling at the vibrant hues of the oranges.

However, the main attraction here is the Rimbi river itself. Walk over the rocks and see how far you can go, sit and soak the warmth of the sun, with your feet dipped in the river.

While there are no oranges to savor in the summer, you can still enjoy the tranquil surroundings and spend time in the river-rocks. Be cautious, if you are travelling with friends. This is a time-killer, and you’ll never know how long you spent here doing nothing!

Rimbi Falls

Rimbi waterfall is a relatively small waterfall on your way from Rimbi orange garden to the Kanchanjunga falls. For a change, there’s no need to hike, or trek here. Just park your car and enjoy the splendor while sipping on some hot coffee or spicy Wai-wai. The wooden bridge makes this place picture-perfect.

Khechoparli Lake

Khecheopalri Lake is a sacred and serene freshwater lake that holds immense religious significance for the local Buddhist community. Surrounded by verdant forests and misty hills, the lake is believed to be a wish-fulfilling and sacred site.

Legend has it that the lake’s water remains crystal clear due to the blessings of Guru Padmasambhava, the revered Buddhist master. Surrounded by prayer flags and colorful prayer wheels, the lake has a mystical charm.

Honestly, I have seen larger and more beautiful lakes in India, however, the walk through the forests, the folklore around it, and the chance to feed fish makes it unique.

You can trek further to the hill-top from where the Khecheopalri lake looks like a foot.

That would take at least 30-45 minutes extra time. I’d suggest skipping it unless you are really interested in this. There are much better views from other places like Pelling skywalk or Rabdentse Ruins.

How to reach Pelling?

People usually visit Pelling as a part of their Sikkim trip, which should ideally be at least 5-6 days long. You can also combine Pelling trip with a trip to Darjeeling like we did in April this year.

In any case, the closest international airport is the Bagdogra airport in West Bengal, and the closest well-connected railway station in New Jalpaiguri (NJP).

You can book train ticket to the NJP station from any major town of India. Bagdogra is also well-connected to major cities. Once you reach NJP, you can book a cab to Pelling easily.

A 6-seater car like Innova would cost around Rs. 4500 – Rs. 5000, and a 4-seater car would cost around Rs. 3500-Rs. 4000. The prices may vary depending on the travel season. You can also book tourist buses online.

You may also want to explore some offbeat destinations in North Bengal from Jalpaiguri.

Best Accommodations in Pelling

There are three regions in Pelling – upper Pelling, middle Pelling and lower Pelling. Upper Pelling is closer to the skywalk and the helipad. Lower Pelling is closer to Rabdentse and Pemyangtse.

Upper Pelling or Lower Pelling – which is better for staying in?

Upper Pelling offers a better view of the Kanchenjunga , which is probably the reason why the prices are also high. From near the Pelling helipad at upper Pelling you get unobstructed view of the third highest mountain peak in the world.

Well, I have been to Pelling twice, and on both occasions stayed in lower Pelling, and I have no complaints about the view. We got picture-perfect view of Mt. Kanchanjunga from our hotel both times.

But the higher altitude offers a better unobstructed view for photography in upper Pelling. Lower Pelling also has some good restaurants, if you want to dine outside your hotel. The hotel prices are lower and it is less commercialized.

Best Day Trips from Pelling

Pelling is a town speckled with natural and architectural wonders, enough to keep one occupied on a short trip. However, it is also used as a base for exploring the nearby, lesser-known places in Sikkim.

Since the accommodation options are limited in these places, people choose to stay in Pelling longer and go for excursions into the places nearby. Here is a list of the best places to go for a day trip from Pelling.

Singshore Bridge

Located about 25 kilometers away, Singshore Bridge is the highest bridge in Sikkim and the second-highest gorge bridge in Asia.

A journey through scenic roads and verdant Himalayan Forest which is home to the cute red pandas is truly memorable. I couldn’t spot a red panda, but hopefully you can. On your way you will come across the beautiful Changey Falls. 

The suspension bridge stretches across the valley, providing a thrilling experience as you walk across its length.

Take in the panoramic vistas, capture memorable photographs, and savor the adrenaline rush of being high above the ground. Remember to pack some snacks and water, as there may not be many facilities nearby.

After this visit the charming Dentam village and the Alpine Cheese factory located there. 

You can combine the trip to Singshore bridge with a completely off-the-tourist-radar place call Uttarey. A village on the border of India and Nepal, Uttarey offers unadulterated natural beauty.

The main attraction here is the view from the Tenzing Hillary Memorial park – established in the memory of the first pair of mountaineers who climbed Mount Everest. If you love trekking, you can do a 2-km trek to this place.

Or you can drive to this spot directly through the motorable road. The idyllic lake, the infectious smile of the two legendary mountaineers commemorated through the statue is sure to fill you with joy.

My little one enjoyed the place the most. It was a delight to see the 1.5-year-old toddler walking his way up the cobbled-stone pavement in the park with his precious smile.

If you can visit the Titnaic park for some photo opportunity. A 10-minute walk from the Titanic Park will take you to the Kagyu monastery, one of the most significant monasteries in Sikkim.

About 2km from here is the trout farm where you can see the rearing of fresh-water fish. Drive 5km further to the Mainbass waterfall and complete this fulfilling excursion.

The scenic drive from Pelling to Yuksom is approximately 35 kilometers. It takes you through picturesque landscapes and enchanting villages.

Upon reaching Yuksom, start your exploration by visiting the historic Dubdi Monastery, the oldest monastery in Sikkim. Immerse yourself in its tranquil atmosphere and admire the beautiful murals and statues.

Continue your journey to the Coronation Throne, where the first Chogyal of Sikkim was crowned. Enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains from this vantage point.

In the afternoon, visit the Tashiding Monastery, located a short distance from Yuksom. This important pilgrimage site is known for its religious significance and stunning views.

Take a leisurely walk around the monastery complex, observing the prayer wheels and colorful prayer flags. Before heading back to Pelling, indulge in some local cuisine at one of the eateries in Yuksom.

As you make your way back, reflect on the rich history and natural splendor you experienced during this captivating day trip.

Book a day trip to Yuksom

Most famous for the resplendent Buddha Park, the distance from Pelling to Ravangla is only 32 km. People often spend an hour at the Buddha Park in Ravangla on their way to Pelling from West Bengal. The Buddha Park, home to a huge, magnificent statue of Buddha overlooking the town. Take in the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and spend some time in quiet contemplation amidst the peaceful ambiance of the park.

Afterward, visit the Ralang Monastery, an important Buddhist monastery known for its intricate architecture and spiritual significance. Depending on how much time you have or are willing to spend, you can also visit the Tumlong Monastery. 

Pelling Itinerary for 2 days (1 night)

You need to set aside at-least one full-day for Pelling. 

Day 1 in Pelling

On a relaxed trip with family, you can visit the Skywalk, the Pemyangtse monastery, Kanchanjunga falls, Rimbi falls and the Rimbi river garden on the first day.

While you can just stop your car and marvel at the Rimbi falls, for Kanchanjunga falls and Rimbi river you will need to do a short hike.

I highly recommend a trek to the Rabdentse ruins and Sidekeong bird park. But it will take time and may not be suitable for people with mobility issues.

A trek to the Khechoperi Lake is also worthwhile, however, you will need to manage your time really well to accommodate all these along with the ones mentioned above, all in one day.

Not only will it be hectic, but it also won’t be fulfilling enough to touch and leave these places at once.

Day 2 in Pelling

 Wake up early to see sunrise at Kanchenjunga peak from the rooftop or balcony of your hotel. Then drive from Pelling to Ravangla on your way back to Siliguri or Bagdogra.

Alternatively, you can also drive from Pelling to the Char-dham in Namchi , on your way back to West Bengal.

These places are beautiful and easily accessible by car. So, if you are visiting with ageing parents, or tiny toddlers, make sure to not miss any of these.

You can also add Kanchanjunga falls, Rimbi falls and the Rimbi river garden to the list. While you can just stop your car and marvel at the Rimbi falls, for Kanchanjunga falls and Rimbi river you will need to do a short hike.

If you’re a group of young adventurers and nimble on feet, do not miss the trek to Rabdentse Ruins.

Pelling itinerary for 3 days (2 nights)

Pelling is a small town studded with jewels. While you can cover a lot of ground in two days, you should ideally allot 3 days for Pelling.

This will help you see not just the attractions within Pelling but also around it. Here’s how I’d plan a 2-day trip to Pelling.

Day 1 in 3-day Pelling itinerary

Visit the skywalk and hike to the Sanga Choeling Monastery. Then start off for an excursion to the Singshore bridge. On the way to Singshore you can stop at the Changey falls. After this you can either explore the Detam village and visit the cheese factory, or head to Uttarey for a scenic drive.

On the second day you can explore the top attractions of Pelling.

Start with Pemyangtse monastery in the morning, then move on to Khechoparli lake, Rimbi river rock garden, Rimbi falls and Kanchenjunga falls. After lunch, trek to the Sidkeong bird park and then to Rabdentse ruins.

The panoramic view from the ruins is a sight to behold before sunset.

Day 3 in Pelling

Drive from Pelling to Ravangla or Namchi on your way back to departure.

If you have more days in Pelling, spend on different excursions and in getting lost in the natural beauty. There’s Yuksom and Darap village excursion, and then there’s more to explore in Uttarey.

At a distance of 35 km from Pelling, 55 km from Ravangla and 126 km from Gangtok, Yuksom a historical town in West Sikkim district in the Northeast Indian state of Sikkim. It is the gateway to Kangchendzongha and among the best places to visit in Pelling. Situated at an altitude of 5,800 feet, Yuksom is located at the southern fringes of Kanchenjunga National Park and is known for its gorgeous landscape and snow-capped mountains. It was the first capital of Sikkim established in 1642 AD by Phuntsog Namgyal who was the first Chogyal of Sikkim. The meaning of the term Yuksom is 'meeting place of the three lamas'. This is the place where three Tibetan monks met and enthroned the first King (Chogyal) of Sikkim in 1641. This was the beginning of Namgyal dynasty in Sikkim which lasted for 332 years. Visitors can visit and see the coronation stone at Norbugang where the first King Phuntsog Namgyal was consecrated. Yuksom also has a religious connotation attached as it symbolically represents 'the third eye of Sikkim'. Yuksom is part of Demazon (valley of rice), the sacred landscape consisting of four religious sites which have been blessed by Guru Padmasambhava and which are considered to be the four plexuses of the human body, in which Yuksom represents the 'third eye'. The town houses Dubdi Monastery, the oldest monastery of Sikkim which was established in 1701. It was the hermit cell of the lama Lhabtsun Chenpo who had the highest seat out of three monks who enthroned the first king. Other than the monastery, one can also visit Kathoke Lake, Norbugang Coronation Throne and helipad with lovely views of the mountains all around at Yuksom. Yuksom is the base camp for many treks in Sikkim. One can trek to Tashiding, Dzongri peak and Goecha La from here. You can also trek to Khecheopalri Lake from Yuksom. There is no public transport to Yuksom. So, visitors need to hire a taxi or shared sheep to Yuksom from Geyzing, Tashiding, Pelling and Gangtok. It might be difficult to find shared jeeps after 1 PM.

It is the most ubiquitous mantra and the most popular form of religious practice, performed by laypersons and monastic alike and this text the mantra is seen as a condensed form of all the Buddhist teachings Pelling exists to provide countless visitors with stride-stopping dawn views of white-robed Khangchendzonga. At first glance gorgeous woodland ridge the greenery. One can walk a little, however, and quickly find wandering through beautiful natural forest. Within 03 kilometers of this beautiful destination along the same series of ridge tops are the ruins of an 18th-century palace plus two historic monasteries busy Pemayangtse Gompa and the peaceful Sanghak Choeling. Presently it is being overlooked by a gigantic Chenrezig Statue which is visible for kilometers. Nearly 09 kilometers east of Pelling is the commercial and transport centre of Gyalshing which is popularly known as Geyzing. In between, little Tikjuk hosts West Sikkim's administrative complex where from permit extensions are done. Pelling is a beautifully located hill station at an altitude of 6800 feet it is around 10 kilometers from Gyalshing the district headquarter. Pelling is the second biggest tourist destination in the state after Gangtok. It offers the view of the Kanchendzonga and surrounding Himalayan ranges, as well as the easy access it provides to tourist spots in the area. Pelling is also known for the suitable take off point for high altitude and a low altitude treks. Gangtok, Darjeeling, Siliguri, Jorethang, Kalimpong is well connected by roads to Pelling. Nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP) and Bagdogra Airport (IXB) is nearly 145 kilometers and all the places are 3 to six hours drive. Moderate climatic condition i.e. warm and pleasant in summer and cold in winter makes it an all weather destination. Other places of interest nearby are Varsey Rhododendron sanctuary, Reshi Hot Spring, Hee, Bermiok, Yuksom, Rinchenpong, Uttarey, Ravangla, Temi Tea Estate, etc.  Yuksom is old capital town in Geyzing subdivision of West Sikkim district in the Northeast Indian state of Sikkim. Phuntsog Namgyal who was the first Chogyal (temporal and religious king) of Sikkim made it the first capital of Sikkim establishing it in 1642 AD. The coronation site of the first monarch was known as the "Throne of Norbugang". The place where Namgyal was crowned is surrounded by several monasteries and a lake.  Interestingly the first monastery at Yuksom is known as the Dubdi Monastery in 1701 was established by the Chogyal, which is part of Buddhist religious pilgrimage circuit including the Pemayangtse Monastery, Norbugang Chorten, Rabdentse ruins, Sanga Choeling Monastery, Khecheopalri Lake, and the Tashiding Monastery. The Bhutia tribal community of Sikkim this destination has a special religious and cultural significance. The best part is its location as being at the head of the Khangchendzonga National Park and as the base camp for trekking to Mount Khangchendzonga / Kanchendzonga. It has large numbers of trekkers & mountaineers from all parts of the world for Goechala  &  Dzongri Trek.  The village people, as stake holders in biodiversity preservation of the Rathong Chu valley, where the village is situated, have played a significant role in trendsetting and promotion of eco-tourism in the area. The locals of this village have most successfully adopted promotion of tourism not only in the region but the surrounding area also. Yuksom is the base camp for Dzongri Trek. It is one the the most popular high altitude trekking destination. Dzongri trek is a shorter version of the Goechala Trek. This particular trek starts from Yuksom and ends up at Yuksam within 05 days days. Yuksom - Tshoka - Dzongri  and back is the route preferred by trekkers.

Goechala Trek and Dzongri trek takes trekkers close to the Mighty Mount Kanchendzonga 8585 meters, Mount Pandim 6691 meters, Mount Kabur north 7338 meters, Mount Kabur south 7317 meters, Mount Kumbhakarna (Janoo) 7710 meters, Mount Simvo 6811 meters,  Mount Kabru Forked 6108 meters,  Mount Frey Peak 5830 meters,  Mount Rathong 6679 meters, Mount Kokthang 6147 meters, and  Mount Goecha Peak 5127 meters.

Airways – Pakyong Airport (PYG) is 135 kilometers and is 04½ - 05 hours through scenic route via NH10.  Pakyong Airport (PYG) & Bagdogra Airport (IXB) are nearly equidistant from Pelling. Yet Pakyong is few kilometers closer than Bagdogra. It is the nearest Airport but due cloud and mist at high altitude flights sometime gets diverted frequently. Other nearest Major Airport is Bagdogra (IXB). Bagdogra airport is well connected to major Indian cities like Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata. Two International flights also operate to this airport from destinations like Bangkok and Paro. By car it will take approximately 145 kilometers and is nearly 04½ - 05 hour’s drive National Highway 10. It is only 135 kilometers from Gangtok. Bagdogra Airport (IXB) is the second most nearest airport to Sikkim and is nearly 145 kilometers from Pelling. Railways – New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) is the nearest major railway station is approximately 146 kilometers and is nearly 05 - 05½ hour’s drive via National Highway 10. It is well connected to rest of India with daily trains. Other two railway stations are Siliguri Junction (SGUJ) & Siliguri Town Railway Station (SGUT) on the way to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station.  Roadways - Pelling can be reached from Siliguri by various hired vehicle in roughly 04 - 05 hours time. Nearest town is Jorethang & Gyaltsen and is 32 kilometers from Yuksom. One can reach Yuksom via Pelling i.e. through Sikkim.  The route is south of Sikkim. Network of road is good and private vehicle or tourist vehicle are available but prior booking is advisable. Administration allows only 04 Guests  in small taxis / cars take 07 persons in larger vehicles like Scorpio, Innova or Xylo. Tata Sumo take 08 persons.

DAY 1 : New Jalpaiguri Railway Station(NJP)/Bagdogra Airport(IXB) – Gangtok (130 km/4 hrs drive)

Arrival at NJP/Bagdogra. After a warm welcome, our representative will drive you to Gangtok (1437 m) and assist you to check in at the hotel. Freshen up and relax for some time. In the evening, you can go for a stroll on the MG Marg. Stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2 : Gangtok (Excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir)

After a leisurely breakfast, at around 8 am leave for Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft/3750 m/3 hrs drive) and Baba Harbhajan Mandir( 13,200 ft/4000 m). The zig-zag road through craggy mountain terrain takes you to Tsomgo Lake. Located at an altitude of 12,400 ft, the lake is enveloped in ethereal beauty and is considered sacred. The lake dons different looks in different seasons. In winters it gets covered in snow while in spring colourful flowers around the lake add life to it. Baba Harbhajan Mandir or the shrine is a must-visit place of Sikkim as it is dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh who was a brave Indian soldier. While carrying supplies to a remote post he died near the Nathula Pass in eastern Sikkim due to bad weather condition. After the excursion, we will drive you back to Gangtok. Stay overnight at the hotel. Note: You can also visit Nathula Pass on the same day at an additional cost. Nathula Pass is located at an altitude of 14,140 feet and is one of the highest motorable passes of India. It is one of the oldest trading border posts linking India and Tibet.

DAY 3 : Gangtok (Full day sightseeing tour)

Post breakfast, we will take you for a full day sightseeing tour of Gangtok. You will visit Ganesh Tok which is visited by people since ages and it also offers great views of Kangchenjunga. Enjoy at the Banjhakri waterfall which is a wonderful picnic spot. Then head to the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology to see the rich cultural heritage of Tibetan architecture and Buddhist culture. The Ropeway is the next attraction that offers great views of the mountains. Next, we will cover the other attractions of Gangtok such as Bakthang Waterfalls, Do Drul Chorten Stupa, Tashi view point, Directorate of Handicraft and Handloom, Enchey Monastery and Flower Show. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 4 : Gangtok – Pelling(120 km/5.5 hrs drive)

After breakfast, we will drive you to Pelling. The journey from Gangtok to Pelling is pleasing as you will drive past the gorgeous tea gardens, majestic mountains, and scenic landscape. Pelling is a lovely town located amidst the pine forest. It offers great views of snow-capped mountains and the might Kangchenjunga. It is also a home to age-old monasteries. After a long drive of more than 5 hours you will be tired, so take rest and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 5 : Pelling (Full day local sightseeing)

After breakfast, get ready to explore the local attractions of Pelling. Start with Kanchenjunga waterfalls which will surely rejuvenate you to the hilt with its gushing water and green surroundings. Then head to the picturesque Sewaro rock garden full of greenery and beauty. Next on the list is Darap Valley which is a scenic retreat. Take a break for lunch and continue with the sightseeing visiting Pema Yangtse monastery, Helipad Ground, Rimbi waterfalls, Khecheopalri sacred Lake and Rabdentse Ruins. Drive back to the hotel in evening and stay overnight.

DAY 6 : Pelling – Darjeeling (73 km/3 hrs 37 min)

After breakfast, drive to Darjeeling. The drive may not be very smooth but on the journey, you will come across gorgeous green gardens, rivers, quaint villages and old bridges. Reach the hotel in Darjeeling, check in and stay overnight.

DAY 7 : Darjeeling(Full day local sightseeing)

Begin the journey early morning (around 4 am) and drive to the famous Tiger Hill (2590 m) to treat your senses with mind-blowing views of the sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjunga. It is the highest point of this hill station. While coming back from there visit Batasia Loop and Ghoom Monastery. Enjoy a good breakfast and then visit Japanese Temple which reflects traditional Japanese architecture and is a well known Buddhist pilgrimage. Other attractions which will be covered are Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park(closed on Thursday), Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tenzing Rock, Peace Pagoda and Chitrey Tea Garden(outer view). In the evening take a stroll along the Mall Road.

DAY 8 : Darjeeling – New Jalpaiguri Railway Station(NJP)/Bagdogra Airport(IXB) (88 km/3 hrs drive)
