On your own private car, the fuel cost will be approximately $4 – $8 and it will take you around an hour and 20 minutes to get to your destination.

How to get from Dubai to Hatta by bus?

To get from Dubai to Hatta via bus, you will first need to pick up a taxi from Dubai that will take you to the Ras al Khor Terminus. This terminus is roughly 16 kilometers away and this journey will take around 11 minutes, costing $8 – $11.

Next, from Ras al Khor Terminus, you will take a bus that comes once every 3 hours. This journey will be to Hatta Bus Station and will take 2 hours 15 minutes. It will set you back nearly $6 – $10.

Once at the Hatta Bus Station, you will again have to take a taxi to reach your desired location in Hatta. This journey will cover around 3 kilometers and takes roughly 5 minutes of your time. It will cost you around $2 – $4.

So, your total cost, if you choose to go with this method, is nearly $21 while the total time is 2 hours and 38 minutes.

How to get from Dubai to Hatta by Taxi?

If you book a taxi directly from Dubai to Hatta, it will cost you around about $60 to $75 and you will reach your desired location within an hour and 20 minutes.

How to get from Dubai to Hatta by Rental car?

If you do not have your own car, I would highly recommend renting a car. That way you can easily drive around the mountains and discover and explore the nearby villages. Renting a car is actually quite cheap in the UAE where you can rent a car for as little as $15 a day. 

How to get from Dubai to Hatta by Transfer?

You will also be able to hire a transfer from Dubai to Hatta via Gettransfer. You just have to add in where you would like to be picked up and dropped off and local transfer companies will bid for your custom. I have been able to get quite a few really nice luxury transfers for almost no money when I was living in Dubai.

From Abu Dhabi

• Make sure you have a seasoned driver on board while driving through Hatta’s mountainous terrains.
• Being a mountainous region, it is not entirely safe to drive around or engage in adventerous activities post sunset. If you're driving back to Dubai or Abu Dhabi on the same day, make sure you leave before it gets dark as the roads are not safe for night driving.

Are you looking at making a day trip or weekend out to the mountainous village town of Hatta , but wondering how to get there?

We used to shy away from recommending this trip to visitors as a day trip unless they had their own car, but a new Express Bus Service from Dubai to Hatta just made this a whole lot easier for visitors.

So whether you’ve rented your own set of wheels or want to take the public transport option, here we take you through exactly how to get from Dubai to Hatta for the perfect day out in the mountains – or as it’s now being marketed – “The Highlands of Dubai”

Dubai to Hatta Distance

Dubai to hatta by by express bus, how to go to hatta from dubai by bus, hatta hop-on-hop-off bus, dubai to hatta with your own car, dubai to hatta renting a car, dubai to hatta by taxi, dubai to hatta transfers, dubai to hatta tour.

The distance from Downtown Dubai to Hatta is 105 kilometres.

How to Get from Dubai to Hatta by Bus

There are two bus options to choose from.

Newly launched in December 2022, the Hatta Express bus (route H02) is now the easiest way for visitors to get from Dubai to Hatta.

Running from Dubai Mall every 2 hours between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, the journey will take you approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes and costs AED 25 (one way), which can be paid for with your Nol Card or cash to the driver.

Departing from the popular tourist hotspot in the centre of the city (no more slugging your way across town to the old bus station – look for the tourist bus parking, not local RTA buses), you’ll ride in airconditioned comfort without stops.

Note, there is a Nol recharge machine at Hatta Bus Station if you need a top-up for your journey home.

The cheapest, though not the most straightforward way for most to get from Dubai to Hatta and return by public transport is by using the bus.

The E16 bus runs from Al Sabkha Marine Bus Stop 1 , Dubai to Hatta Bus Station .

The Hatta bus from Dubai leaves approximately every two hours, and the journey takes around 2 hours, 15 to 2 hours and 40 minutes depending on traffic and time of day. It makes multiple stops en route, both in Dubai and on the way into Hatta.

The RTA bus from Hatta to Dubai costs AED 10 one way. You can use your Nol card to pay for the journey.

If you really want to save the extra AED 15, this is the cheaper route, but certainly not the faster route

Once in Hatta, you can use the new hop-on-hop-off transit service (Route H04) that departs from Hatta Bus Station every 30 minutes. The bus costs AED 2 per stop and currently has 4 stops:

• Hatta Wadi Hub
• Hatta Hill Park
• Hatta Heritage Viallage

Payment is by Nol card or cash to the driver.

How To Get From Dubai To Hatta By Car

As the destinations to visit in Hatta are quite spread out, your best option for a full day of sightseeing is to take your own vehicle to explore the region properly.

You are still within the same emirate (although you do cross through the Emirate of Sharjah!), so there are no border crossings to deal with, making it one of the most straightforward Dubai day trips.

From Dubai, simply take the E44, then the E102 and keep following the signs to Hatta. The road makes a few turns as you cannot cross into Oman! The last part of the journey is steep, hilly terrain.

If you own your own car, this is an easy trip of just 1 hour and 20 minutes, depending on your starting point.

If you do not have your own car, renting a car and driving in Dubai is relatively straightforward.

It is the easiest way to map out your own adventure into the mountains and take things at your own pace, as the highlights are not all close together.

Renting a car is relatively cheap in the UAE; you can check out available options here:

Unless you plan on making some desert dune stops on the way, or perhaps pulling off to explore the ghost town of Al Madam , you will only need a 2WD vehicle.

You can take a metered Dubai taxi from the city to Hatta, and it will cost approximately AED 200 – 250 each way.

Another option is to get your own private driver using a service such as GetTransfer .

GetTransfer acts as a driver bidding service. You add in your pick-up and drop-off location and let your drivers offer you a price they will be willing to complete the journey for.

You could also hire a driver for a set number of hours if you’d like a driver for the whole day to take you between attractions too. This is handy in a town like Hatta, where not all the major sites are near one another.

We prefer to use this sort of service rather than a metered taxi as you know you will be fixing your price.

You can also request additional services such as a large van if you are in a group or car seats travelling with infants; only those drivers who can meet your requirements can bid.

With the advent of a new express bus service from Dubai to Hatta, I no longer hesitate to recommend this bus to tourists. If they have their own car, I would still suggest that they should use the bus service for a day trip to the Hajar Mountains.

Therefore, if you are going to rent your own vehicle to approach the beautiful Mountains of UAE, use public transport. It will save your budget and more experience will add to your trip regarding the Dubai transportation system.

Maximum Distance from Downtown Dubai to Hatta

It is necessary for tourists to know about the exact distance to reach Hatta from Dubai before choosing transport.

I also encountered the question of how many kilometers I had to travel from Dubai to Hatta during my Dubai trip. The total Dubai to Hatta distance is about 105 kilometers which can be covered easily by bus or car.

Express Bus or Public Bus – Select One to Reach Hatta

During my research for bus transport, I got two options. One is to access the Express Bus to reach the place and the other is to approach the public bus. And the obvious thing is the Express bus is better but there may vary fares for both Hatta tours.

The Express Bus Route: Air –Conditioned Bus to Reach Hatta

The famous and easiest way to reach the Arab Mountains is to use the Express Bus route. The route bus starts from the Dubai shopping Mall every two hours. The bus service starts at 7:00 AM in the morning and ends at 7:00 PM in the evening.

You have to make your Nol card to make the payment of your fare. Don’t worry the fare is not so much, it is only 25 AED. If you don’t own the Nol card you may pay it via cash to the bus driver.

 The Express Bus Dubai to Hatta Transport takes almost 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the destination. The best thing I examined while choosing the Express bus is that I took a ride in the air-conditioned without pauses.

You don’t have to seek the bus parking area or local RTA buses while leaving for the well-known Hatta tour. Utilize the Nol Recharge Station located at the Hatta Bus Station in order to have a top-up facility.

Public Transport Bus – Pay 10 AED and admire Hatta Region

Public bus transportation is the cheapest source of Dubai to Hatta transport for tourists. However, I will point out that this particular bus route can’t be as simple as the Express Bus. Utilizing Public Bus Transport to view the amazing places in Dubai is the best idea to wander in the city.

Follow the simple route from E44 to E102 and then continue to follow the indications from Hatta to Dubai. You will get a few curves in the road since you are not going to enter Oman. The final stretch of the trek is across a rough, hilly road.

Dubai to Hatta Transport – An Easy Trip by your own Car

Enjoy your own driving skills by renting a car or purchasing your own car. It is not too difficult to own a vehicle or rent it in Dubai to visit any of the places. As the attractions of Hatta are not all near together, you need to plan the simplest approach. 

The pristine splendor of the Highlands is a wonderful place to spend time leisurely. It is a common confusion for tourists which car they should own to visit the Arab mountains. I would say that the best vehicle is to take a 2WD car.

But this Dubai to Hatta transport option is best in the case if you don’t have any intentions to visit the places coming in the route.

Take a Metered Dubai Taxi to Hatta – The cheapest way

If you are not good at driving skills and don’t want to reach your destination by bus. Don’t worry you can ride on the metered Dubai Taxi from the city to the Mountainous region. However, the cost of riding a taxi is higher than that of the bus. For each way of your journey, you have to pay about 200 to 250 AED.

Utilize GetTransfer as a Driver Bidding Service

An amazing option that can help you to bid for driver service is the GetTransfer. You only need to enter your arrival and departure locations, exactly as with the Uber app. Wait for a while until and allow your drivers to present you with an estimated amount of cost for your journey.
