The 88th Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club begins April 11, 2024. With millions of golfers vying to experience a round in person, getting tickets to the championship isn’t easy. Patrons must enter a lottery or purchase tickets secondhand.

Luckily, you can watch the Masters Golf Tournament without leaving your home. Here’s how to stream all the tournament rounds, what internet type and speed you need to stream the championship and which apps give you free access to the games.

Where to watch the Masters Tournament

The four rounds of the 2024 Masters Tournament will air on ESPN (rounds 1 & 2) and CBS (3 & 4). ESPN also airs three days of pre-tournament events Monday, April 8 through Wednesday, April 10. This coverage includes practice rounds and Wednesday’s Par 3 Contest. Spanish-language viewers can watch the broadcasts en español on ESPN Depórtes.

The Golf Channel will also show supplementary coverage, including highlights, commentary and player features, as part of its “Live from the Masters” studio broadcasts.

When is the Masters Tournament 2024?

Thursday, April 11, is the first official day of the Masters Tournament. Pre-game coverage with host Laura Rutledge begins at 1 p.m. EST with “Welcome to the Masters,” and round 1 starts at 3 p.m. Subsequent rounds will occur one per day through Sunday, April 14.

Watch the Masters without cable TV

Whether you’re tuning in to watch 2023’s Masters’ champion Jon Rahm or legendary Tiger Woods , you can keep track of the Masters leaderboard without a TV subscription.

What is the best internet speed to stream the Masters Tournament?

Streaming options for the Masters Tournament include various apps you can download to your cell phone, tablet or smart TV. The speed requirements (per device) are minimal (less than 25 Mbps). However, you will need a faster speed if you have numerous connected Wi-Fi devices in your home.

Watch the Masters Tournament online or on mobile

You can watch the Masters for free if you have the official Masters Tournament app or if you are a new customer for the paid services in the following table. Just remember to sign up for the free trial and cancel before you are automatically charged for the first month of service.

How to get the best streaming quality for watching the Masters Tournament

Don’t miss out on the Green Jacket Ceremony because of poor internet quality. Check your home Wi-Fi plan for these features before tee-off.

The best reliability

The most reliable internet connection will ensure you don’t miss any exciting moments of the Masters Tournament. Fiber internet is the most dependable internet connection because it is a dedicated line that is not shared with your neighbors. This setup also means that your internet will not be affected if many people are online in your area.

Cable internet and 5G internet are shared connections, so network congestion can temporarily slow your service and cause buffering. However, with a high-speed internet plan, you will likely not experience this inconvenience.

If you are unsure which type of internet connection you have, consider your internet company on your billing statement. Common internet service providers (ISPs) include:

  • Fiber ISPs: AT&T Fiber , Frontier Fiber , Verizon Fios , Google Fiber .
  • Cable ISPs: Xfinity , Spectrum , Cox , Optimum .
  • 5G ISPs: T-Mobile 5G , Verizon 5G .

How to make your internet more reliable while streaming the Masters Tournament

  • Reboot your equipment ( modem and router , or gateway).
  • Move your device closer to your modem.
  • Change your Wi-Fi password to ensure no one else is using your internet.

Unlimited data

Data limits on home internet can be a big problem if you are streaming the Masters Tournament for several hours every day. Most internet providers have unlimited internet or very high data caps, but a few rural internet services, like satellite internet and fixed wireless , often have restrictions on data.

Going over your set data amount can cost extra or result in slower internet until the next billing cycle. The good news is that several satellite providers, including Hughesnet , Viasat and Starlink , have options for adding extra high-speed data to your plan.

How to get the best data plan for streaming the Masters Tournament

  • Determine if you have a data cap on your current internet plan.
  • Proactively add data to your plan by contacting your ISP’s customer support team.
  • Since some satellite providers offer extra high-speed data during off-peak hours, try streaming during these times to avoid exceeding the data limit.

Good internet speed

Having a good internet speed to stream the 2024 Masters Tournament doesn’t require internet over 1 GB . Most streaming platforms require 25 Mbps or less. Many cheap internet plans cost under $50/mo. and have great speeds for streaming, gaming and other common internet activities.

How to get the best internet speed for streaming the Masters Tournament

  • Use the best internet speed tests to check if your current connection is ready for streaming.
  • Speed up your internet connection by disconnecting devices that aren’t in use.
  • Add Wi-Fi extenders to boost your Wi-Fi signal to areas in your home that get slower speeds.

Final thoughts on streaming the 2024 Masters Tournament

Enjoy the Masters Tournament this year by streaming for free or with a paid app. Get the streaming experience by optimizing the speed, data and reliability of your internet connection. With multiple ways to stream the game on nearly any Wi-Fi device, you won’t ever have to worry about missing the competition.

Tiger Woods listed on Masters interview schedule

Change Text Size

On Friday, Augusta National released the pre-tournament interview schedule for next week’s Masters Tournament. Tiger Woods is listed among those scheduled to speak, giving the clearest indication yet that Woods plans to play in this year’s Masters.

Woods’ health and ability to walk the multiple miles in a round of golf can change rapidly, but the signs are pointing to another Masters appearance. Flight-tracking sites on social media showed Woods’ jet flying to Augusta’s airport last week for a presumed pre-tournament practice session. Now Woods is scheduled to speak to the media Tuesday at 11 a.m. ET. Woods has not spoken publicly since The Genesis Invitational.

Woods last completed an official PGA TOUR event at the 2023 Genesis Invitational. Though he made the cut in last year’s Masters to tie the tournament record for consecutive cuts made, he had to withdraw before the tournament’s conclusion because of plantar fasciitis. He had a subtalar fusion shortly after, sidelining him until the Hero World Challenge in December.

The full pre-tournament press conference schedule for the Masters is listed below (all times ET):

Monday, April 8:

  • 2 p.m.: Brian Harman
  • 2:30 p.m.: Jasper Stubbs and Santiago De La Fuente
  • 3 p.m.: Hideki Matsuyama
  • 3:30 p.m.: Xander Schauffele

Tuesday, April 9:

  • 9:30 a.m.: Viktor Hovland
  • 10 a.m.: Jon Rahm
  • 11 a.m.: Tiger Woods
  • 12:30 p.m.: Rory McIlroy
  • 1 p.m.: Ludvig Åberg
  • 1:30 p.m.: Wyndham Clark
  • 2:30 p.m.: Jordan Spieth
  • 3 p.m.: Scottie Scheffler
  • 3:30 p.m.: Brooks Koepka

Wednesday, April 10:

  • 11 a.m.: Fred Ridley

Thursday, April 11:

  • 8 a.m.: Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Tom Watson

It’s a stacked lineup of the game’s best, but Woods is the highlight, as he often is at Augusta.

Few things are more synonymous than Woods and Augusta National, and the Masters has had a way of framing every era of Woods’ dominant career. His runaway 12-shot victory in 1997 cemented Woods’ arrival as a generational star. His win in 2001 marked his second consecutive at Augusta National. It capped the “Tiger Slam,” as Woods held all four major championship titles concurrently, one of the most impressive achievements in modern sports history. Woods won the Masters again in 2005, which started a streak of seven straight top-six finishes at the event. He won 31 times on the PGA TOUR in those seven years. Woods’ remarkable victory at the 2019 Masters was a late-career revelation that embodied the superstar’s ethos, once again achieving the unthinkable after numerous injuries cast doubt on whether Woods could climb to the top of the mountain again.

Tiger Woods comments after winning the Masters

He’s in a similar place as the calendar flips to Masters week. Woods pulled out of The Genesis Invitational after his tee shot on the seventh hole of his second round. Woods has said walking is not the issue and his surgically repaired right ankle is pain-free . That hasn’t left his whole body without pain, though. It’s just moved to different places.

Tiger Woods' interview after Round 1 of Genesis

“Other parts of my body have to take the brunt of it,” Woods said at Riviera. “Just like my back is fused so other parts of my body have taken the brunt of that. I have two different body parts that are now fused. Yeah, other parts of the body have to adapt.''

Woods will be adapting to his new reality at Augusta National. He has not accumulated the competitive reps he craves as he turns his attention toward the Masters. However, Sports Illustrated’s Bob Harig reported that Woods was at Augusta National for a scouting trip and played the course with Chairman Fred Ridley and Justin Thomas last week.

If there were a place Woods might not need competitive reps, it would be Augusta. Woods has made the cut in 24 of 25 starts, with 14 top 10s.

The golf world will watch Woods’ return closely, hoping the 15-time major champion can rekindle magic at Augusta National again.

It's Masters week, and not a moment too soon for golf fans in need

At the risk of interrupting this year’s elevated hoops hoopla, there’s another sporting perennial sprouting among the pines.

And not a moment too soon for a golf world, specifically, and an entire sports world in general. The annual looks and feels of this Masters not only serves as a signal for the finch to start chirping and Grandma to stow away the parka, but for competing visionaries to call a four-day truce.

And, by the way, a too-rare chance to see the best versus the best.

This year’s Masters comes three months into a season that, with just a couple of exceptions, has looked more like an early-spring training game — leaderboards largely filled with non-roster rookies and young vets yearning for big paydays, career stability and, if it’s not too much to ask, a little name recognition.

NASCAR ODDS Denny Hamlin, speedway exec clash online. Here's what was said. | NASCAR Odds, Martinsville

Today, when wondering who to credit or blame, all roads lead to Riyadh. The Saudi-funded LIV Golf project is now in its third season of shotgun starts and a target-rich environment — “Welcome aboard, Mr. Rahm, here's a pair of shorts.” Its continued insistence on “change” and a full-steam-ahead mentality, fueled by a bottomless well of (take your pick, it’s all exchangeable) greenbacks, euros, pesos, etc., has forced the PGA Tour into some radical moves.

“Radical” because the moves involve spending cash reserves the Tour would rather, you know, reserve, creating a new schedule within the schedule — eight “elevated” events with scaled-back fields, no 36-hole cut, $20 million prize purses.

You can imagine what this would do to the non-elevated, or you can just watch with your own eyes, which many of us haven’t done, assuming you put stock in the TV ratings. Turn on the Golf Channel for some Thursday or Friday coverage, see that leaderboard, and you might wonder if you’re watching one of the Tour’s Korn Ferry events.

No knock on Austin Eckroat or Matthieu Pavon (two of the non-elevated winners this season, in case you were wondering), but unless they win again, and again, they don’t exactly tickle Mr. Nielsen’s fancy.

That all changes this week in Augusta, where the 90th anniversary Masters — and 87th overall — unfolds with no shortage of storylines and potential drama.

For storylines: Can Scottie Scheffler putt? Can Rory McIlroy square the slam circle? Can Tiger Woods walk?

For drama: What happens if Sunday comes down to two of the more outspoken golfers from the American and Saudi tours — ideally it’d be Rory or Justin Thomas with Patrick Reed or (dare we dream?) Phil Mickelson.

Eventually, there will be some sort of agreement on how to spread the wealth and divvy up command and control within the professional golf universe. Good news is, neither of the main warring parties commands or controls any of the four major championships.

So, even more than usual, you should soak in everything the four majors offer, beginning this week with the proverbial Tradition Unlike any Other, at a time unlike any other.

Scottie Scheffler heads into Masters as heaviest favorite since Tiger Woods in 2013

Heading into Masters week, there is a clear favorite to win it all.

As of Thursday, April 4, Scottie Scheffler was +400 to win his second green jacket. The 2022 Masters champion is the biggest pre-tournament favorite since 2013, when Tiger Woods was listed at +350 ahead of the first round.

Scheffler enters the Masters Tournament fresh off a win at THE PLAYERS Championship, which he also won in 2023.

Scheffler entered the 2022 Masters at +1600, according to SportsOddsHistory.com .

Tiger Woods odds to win Masters 2024

Woods, a five-time champion, has +10,000 odds to win the 2024 Masters Tournament on BetMGM, with his odds listed at +13,000 on  Draft Kings , as of April 2. His most recent Masters victory was in 2019.  Woods withdrew from the 2023 Masters , ending his tournament at 9-over par.

When Tiger Woods won the Masters in 2005, his pre-tournament odds were +350. Since then, Woods' shortest odds to win a Masters came in 2008 when he was listed at +130 prior to the first round. Woods finished the tournament in second place, three strokes behind winner Trevor Immelman .

In 2007, Woods entered the tournament at +150 to win it all. He finished tied for second, two strokes off from champion Zach Johnson.
