Ralph Lauren Safari : Fragrance Review

4

Elisa on Safari, a ’90s classic with an ’80s spirit.

The ‘80s were a time that fetishized “adventure” – I grew up watching movies that took a page from Heart of Darkness , portraying Americans or Brits confronting the terrifying Other-ness of primitive African, Asian, and aboriginal cultures. Today’s audiences would find most of these films ( Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Crocodile Dundee , etc.) unwatchably offensive, and rightly so; their cultural moment has passed.

ralph-lauren-safari

Ralph Lauren Safari , composed by Dominique Ropion, was released in 1990, but feels to me like an ‘80s scent (cusp years cling more tightly to the previous decade than the following, I’ve found). As a concept perfume, it perfectly fits the adventurist trend, and I associate those striking Bridget Hall ads that I saw in every magazine as a kid with the old Banana Republic stores. (If you’re younger than me, you might not remember that their stock in trade at the time was khaki shorts and branded t-shirts, not pinstriped office-wear.)

A true green chypre (not a “modern chypre”), Safari immediately announces itself as a galbanum monster. In fact, if you’ve never smelled  galbanum , it is an excellent introduction to the material: olive-green, not crisp like violet leaf or blackcurrant buds, but rich and almost oily. The galbanum, along with a juicy orange top note and a touch of hairspray-like aldehydes, tumbles into an opulent floral mix of hyacinth, jasmine, narcissus, and marigold. The woody drydown is sweeter than that of a typical old-school chypre, since the nutty vetiver and moss come paired with ambery styrax , and (I suspect) a sneaky dose of vanilla. Like many heavy-hitters from its day, Safari has plentiful sillage and lasts all day, changing slightly with every half-hour.

Perhaps the best way to describe Safari is warm – like the first warm days in spring or the last warm days in fall, it’s suffused with sunlight, those slanted, late-afternoon rays you want to soak up every last drop of.

Ralph Lauren Safari includes notes of galbanum, orange, mandarin, aldehydes, cassis, rosemary, hyacinth, rose, lily of the valley, narcissus, jasmine, iris, tagetes, orange blossom, vetiver, moss, sandalwood, cedar, patchouli, tonka bean, and amber. It is still in production and available direct from Ralph Lauren stores, at $62 for a 2.5 oz. bottle.

Karen: Hmmmm, this makes me want to seek out some vintage Safari! And, Yes!! Banana Republic used to have such cool, incredible clothes – I remember buying a pair of loose, dark green pants with an incredible dragon embroidered up one leg – jeez, they were such cool pants! Fun review, Elisha, thanks! (and those movies, cringe-worthy now, but great back then…..) April 17, 2015 at 7:24am Reply

limegreen: 🙂 I had a fun lightweight khaki shirt from BR, very faux safari — it was a cool store before it became a JCrew clone. Thanks for the intro to this perfume, I would now like to sample it for its greenness! April 17, 2015 at 9:50am Reply

rosarita: Yes! I had an oversized white linen shirt that I wore until it fell to pieces. The anti Laura Ashley, perfect description!

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever tried Safari and I would probably love it now. April 17, 2015 at 3:08pm Reply

Karen: Hey wait a minute! I wore both and luuuuved Laura Ashley! To this day I regret getting rid of my dresses as the fabrics were really gorgeous. But how fun that others remember BR when it was really cool, fun and interesting! April 17, 2015 at 6:02pm Reply

limegreen: Thanks for bringing back our BR memories, Elisa! I had completely forgotten that BR started out that way. The Laura Ashley fabrics were high quality and beautiful. I had a long LA calico skirt that I had sewn and was so proud of it. It felt “grown up.” 🙂 (Didn’t hurt to be a fan of the Laura Ingalls Wilder books either!) April 17, 2015 at 7:22pm Reply

silverdust: The ’80s were the heydey of great ‘fumes. Safari was one I bought and wore, even though it was kind of tough to wear — sharp and strong. It was great for its time, but I can’t imagine wearing it today. I’m kind of shocked at how my tastes have changed.

The only “originals” from the ’70s and ’80s I still crave are Rive Gauche and No. 22, and not in their current versions. April 17, 2015 at 9:21am Reply

Elisa : Oh, I still wear Safari! It is quite strong but it has a warmth and sweetness that I find comforting. April 17, 2015 at 10:07am Reply

Aisha: I’m wearing this today! 🙂

Safari and Lauren were two of my favorites during and right after college. My then-boyfriend (now, husband) bought me a large bottle of Safari around the time it first came out. I still have that bottle, and the “juice” still smells wonderful. I actually think it’s even more stunning today. April 17, 2015 at 9:46am Reply

Elisa : Yay! I do think there are certain perfumes that actually improve with age. And how lucky that it has such a nice association for you. April 17, 2015 at 10:13am Reply

Patricia: I learned at least two new things about Safari in your article, Elisa. First that it was composed by Dominique Ropion (!), and second that it is still being produced. Though at the time I wore Lauren more often, I still have a soft spot in my heart for this one and own a vintage travel size. Thanks for an informative article on an old favorite! April 17, 2015 at 9:46am Reply

Elisa : I also have a travel size bottle — the one that sits upside down. Should last me a while since this stuff is strong! April 17, 2015 at 10:13am Reply

Patricia: I have the same bottle, and yes, Safari is strong! April 17, 2015 at 11:39am Reply

Aisha: Its strength is likely the reason why my bottle has lasted me so long. One spritz is all I need. The scent also lasts on me a good 8-10 hours. April 19, 2015 at 1:20pm Reply

briony hey: I remember buying a bottle of Safari in the ’80s. Only once though – I found it a bit sharp although I did love the bottle. Rochas Femme was my staple in those days. Femme for nights and Nina Ricci Capricci for days. You used to be able to get Capricci in EDT in department store sales for next to nothing. It’s still available but only the parfum in a Lalique bottle at an absolutely prohibitive price. I really miss those ’80s fumes! April 17, 2015 at 10:02am Reply

Elisa : I have not heard of Capricci but I love the name! April 17, 2015 at 10:31am Reply

Joy: Did I love that perfime! I loved the sunlight shining through the faceted bottle, the box that looked like leather. I sprayed the perfume on cotton ball and put them in all my drawers. I sprayed it on myself before going out on long bicycle rides. It blended well with cold air and perspiration. It was the perfect choice for someone who could not afford “The World of Ralph Lauren”.But, I also wore it with my gorgeous silk 80’s blouses. I also loved the original Banana Republic store. I went to the little store on Maiden Lane in San Francisco. That is where I bought my favorite khaki shirt with snaps at the front and a pocket for a lump of sugar for a recalcitrant horse. The clothes in the catalog were hand sketched. I also had a sweater from the British RAF. Thank you for the wonderful memories! I am going to order a decant to see if I still love that perfume as I did then. April 17, 2015 at 10:53am Reply

Elisa : Hi Joy, I’m so glad I’m not the only one who remembers the old BR stores! The pocket for a lump of sugar cracks me up. April 17, 2015 at 11:17am Reply

Joy: I used to pore over those catalogs. I’m sure I had a lot of the descriptions memoruzed. I never set foot in the stores now. April 17, 2015 at 1:23pm Reply

limegreen: I had no idea that was the reason the pocket was designed that way! I thought it was to hold a pen in place. (Such a nerd on safari!) 🙂 April 17, 2015 at 7:26pm Reply

mals86 : OH MAN I love Safari. It took me awhile, though. I didn’t run across it back in the day, don’t know why. And the first time I tried it, a few years ago, it was from a mini bottle of the parfum, which is considerably warmer and more basenotey than the edp… and I didn’t like it. It was *too* warm and too vanilla and it didn’t seem right to me.

But I kept running across mentions of it, and you know I’m a galbanum ho anyway, so last spring I took a chance with a partial bottle on ebay for about $25. That paid off big-time, because that bottle is GONE now. The craving to wear it kept sneaking up on me – I go through stages where I don’t want to wear anything else (unless it’s Le Temps d’une Fete). I’ve worn it three times this week.

I love the way that Safari smells to me of grass, both fresh and drying into hay, and polished wood and (yes) vanilla. It’s strangely satisfying. April 17, 2015 at 11:19am Reply

mals86 : Oh – and I really hated Temple of Doom, but Out of Africa was pretty swoony. But you’re right, that snobby colonialism angle really seems dated and was probably always at least borderline offensive if not completely wrong to begin with. April 17, 2015 at 11:22am Reply

Elisa : Did you ever see Young Sherlock Holmes? It had a similar “weird exotic occult people” angle, but I really enjoyed that one. April 17, 2015 at 11:31am Reply

Ann: I inhaled the Tintin comic books when I was a little girl. I had them all and would read them over and over again. I regret immensely that I sold them all at a garage sale when I was about 10 having decided I was too old for them (ridiculous!). A thousand years later when I went to get them for my sons I was a little horrified at the racist stereotypes… too bad! So it is Calvin and Hobbes… April 17, 2015 at 12:28pm Reply

Elisa : Oh it’s sad when things you used to love get ruined that way….oh well. April 17, 2015 at 12:38pm Reply

Elisa : I’m glad you saw the review since I know you love this one and galbanum in general! Meanwhile, I really need to try LTdUF again — I had a sample >5 years ago and wasn’t sure how I felt about it, but I like galbanum more than I used to. April 17, 2015 at 11:30am Reply

mals86 : LTdF has changed; it’s considerably lighter and more weighted toward the florals than it used to be, too. I still like it, but in my mind it’s like an eau flanker to the older fragrance. The old version wore more like an edp than the edt it was labeled as. April 17, 2015 at 11:36am Reply

Elisa : Do you still have any of the old version hoarded away? April 17, 2015 at 11:56am Reply

Aurora: Thank you for a beautifully written article, so very evocative of time and place. I love that you put it in context. You know, I must have smelled Safari in magazines’ perfume strips in the nineties when I lived in New York but while I am quite familiar with Lauren (have a vintage mini of it) I have never tried Safari properly, I will have to remedy this soon.

PS still have shorts from ’80s Banana Republic, boy were they well made. Now that I am in London I go there for accessories, I especially like their belts April 17, 2015 at 12:42pm Reply

MikasMinion: I love Safari and savor every spray from my early-nineties bottle. I remember buying a Mother’s Day gift set at Dillard’s when I was in middle school (with my saved up allowance) that had a large bottle, travel bottle, shower gel, and lotion. The SA was so pleased that I had chosen it and I was far too shy to say I was buying it for myself. Actually, I hope I did get Mom something that year. I probably made my dad buy her something from me. I was such a selfish twerp. I always think of the original BR stores when I wear Safari too. I still have a Hawaiian print wrap skirt and matching button down that I got there back in the age where head to toe Hawaiian print was somewhat acceptable. Thank goodness there is no photographic evidence I ever wore them together. April 17, 2015 at 1:18pm Reply

Elisa : If you love galbanum you have to try it! I’m not sure about the differences though — I bought my bottle about 4-5 years ago, but it was from a little discount shop and it might have been older. Still smells great. Generally with chypres, older is better…. April 17, 2015 at 4:29pm Reply

I can’t speak for everyone, because I have perfume eating skin, but current Safari does not last on me at all 🙁 I have never tried vintage so I can’t compare… In any case, the current one is green and lovely, but so short-lived it is not worth its price. Rowanhill: But of course Safari. I wore it with passion in the beginning of the 90’s (alternating with Coco Chanel and Paloma Picasso), loved the “crystal” arrow head shaped purse spray. I thought at the time that would be just the thing to take with me on a safari and pictured myself having those post colonial sundowner gin&tonics on my tree house deck. Some years back I bought a bottle at this wonderful perfume shop in Singapore, which was like Ali Baba’s cave for lost ‘fumes. Lovely to wear on occasion, think will go and put on some right now. It seems like the perfect choice for a cool but bright spring day. April 18, 2015 at 9:31am Reply

Elisa : Haha, G&T’s — perfect! I love it on a bright spring day (and I still crave Paloma Picasso too!) April 18, 2015 at 10:21am Reply

Gil : Although I appreciate perfumes of days past I am glad that modern perfumery typically moves away from the old idea of many strong ingredients. I like that today most new releases have one or two stars in the juice, and the rest just compliment them. April 20, 2015 at 8:58am Reply

Elisa : I’d guess this is just about fashion rather than a true progression — meaning, I wouldn’t be surprised if very complicated many-note perfumes came back some day! April 20, 2015 at 9:17am Reply

Greetings, gentleman. Today, I am talking about an old blast from the past that has been on my review list for some time, and I have been looking forward to this one. I am referring to the fragrance Safari for Men by Ralph Lauren, released back in 1992. It is considered a woody aromatic fragrance for men and is a favourite of mine from this house. It’s not entirely on the same level as my beloved Polo Green, but it’s still something special and worth your time.

It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, especially if you usually gravitate to more contemporary scents such as Montblanc Explorer or D&G The One . However, if you like traditional masculine scents, keep reading.

Price and where to buy

Polo Safari is reasonably priced; you can expect to pay around £40 – £60, depending on the bottle size you choose. There is also a ladies’ version.

It’s kind of a forgotten gem, although you do see it in stores from time to time in the “oldies” section next to your Aramis and CK Obsession. You can check it out on Amazon below. (The current price might shock you.)

RALPH LAUREN SAFARI FOR MEN 125ML

  • RALPH LAUREN SAFARI FOR MEN 125ML
  • Product type: PERSONAL FRAGRANCE
  • Brand: Ralph Lauren
  • Size: 125 millilitre Pack of 1

Appearance and Presentation

As you can see, the bottle is beautifully designed and wouldn’t look out of place in an old-fashioned display cabinet. It has a gentlemanly look, and I get the impression that it was made to resemble a whisky decanter, as it certainly looks like one to me.

I love these kinds of fragrance bottles. Sadly, they don’t make them like this anymore.

Top Notes – Lavender, Bergamot, Aldehydes, Coriander, Artemisia, Green Notes, Neroli, Lemon

Middle Notes – Tarragon, Carnation, Cinnamon, Rose, Cyclamen, Jasmine

Base Notes – Leather, Oakmoss, Sandalwood, Cedar, Musk, Patchouli, Amber

My thoughts about the scent

If you’re wondering if this scent actually smells like being on a safari, the answer is not really. I’ve never been on a safari, but I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t smell like this fragrance. Here’s what you can expect, though.

Straight off the top, you will be hit with generic citrus aromatics with a classic barbershop feel. A lot is going on here, as you can see from the note list, which is typical for fragrances of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. They tend to be richer and more complex than contemporary fragrances, so I like them better.

I pick up the greenery and florals with some smooth spices as it transitions to the mid. These notes blend well with a base that is primarily earthy, woody and leathery. It has an old-world nostalgic charm that is just fantastic, perfectly fitting my personal style.

Now, it borrows many familiar elements you would expect to see in a scent from that era with the prominent patchouli and oakmoss notes. Nevertheless, it has its uniqueness with an overall clean, fresh vibe that may remind you of your dad or uncle rocking his Sunday best back in the day.

To sum it up, this is fundamentally a fresh, aromatic, green scent that is smooth and well-balanced. I love it.

Performance and reformulations

This fragrance HAS been reformulated over the years, and there’s absolutely no question about that. The early nineties were really the tail end of the men’s “powerhouse” fragrance era. Polo Safari was indeed in that category when it was first released, but that is not the case today. It’s now essentially a weaker, watered-down version of its former self. Boo!

On the upside, the performance is still pretty decent by modern standards and will give many new releases a good run for their money. You’ll get a solid 6 hours of longevity with a moderate projection of around 2-3. Most people within an arm’s length of you will be able to pick up on this. A little top-up at lunchtime will see you through the day.

When to wear?

The freshness of this fragrance makes it easy to wear at any time of year, although, for the best results, I would suggest it will perform its best in the spring. A beautiful, crisp barbershop scent like Polo Safari will always serve you well in the spring. Other fragrances such as CK Eternity and even cheapies like Clubman Pinaud will also do this exceptionally well.

Where to wear?

You could dress this up or down without a problem. Polo Safari will be a good fit if you’re looking for something unique and inoffensive for the office. It could also qualify as a signature scent for the right person. On the whole, it’s an all-rounder, so you don’t need to overthink it.

Who is this for?

For me, this fragrance is for the well-groomed masculine man from age 30 onwards. If you are reasonably well dressed and want to add a touch of sharpness to your overall appearance, this will undoubtedly do the job.

I also recommend a similar fragrance, Polo Green, which I prefer, although it’s more rugged, without the clean and fresh appeal.

Pros and Cons

  • A timeless classic
  • Very Masculine
  • Old-world, nostalgic feel
  • Stunning-looking bottle design
  • Complex and interesting blend of fresh, green and woody notes
  • It would suit a sophisticated masculine man with a traditional style
  • It can be worn any time of the year
  • It can be dressed up or down
  • A Great work scent
  • Reasonably priced
  • The reformulation has weakened the performance
  • It has a slight synthetic element
  • It could be considered dated (although who cares)

Should you buy?

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Polo Safari, as it’s an excellent value for money. This would be a great choice for someone who already owns a few fragrances but wants to add something with a classical edge to their collection without going overboard.

If I didn’t have a list of fragrances to wear and review, I could see myself wearing this daily for months. Let me know your thoughts on this one in the comments below. You can also check out my other reviews of Polo Blue , Polo Red and Polo Green if you’re interested in any of those.

In case you were wondering…

Thank you, dear readers, for your time and interest. I’m Gary, a British fragrance nut and writer who has been exploring the addictive world of men’s fragrances for years.

Since quitting the “rat race” and breaking free from my corporate shackles, I have mainly focused on writing articles and books for your enjoyment. Admittedly, writing has not been the most lucrative endeavour, which is why I’ve been a UW Partner since 2012.

What the heck is a UW Partner?

Well, it’s something anyone can do on the side (even me), but that’s perhaps a story for another blog post.

Until next time, my friends,

Agree with sorceress of the dark's review below. Safari to me reads as a green chypre, slightly classic style, but with a dark undercurrent of bitterness from vetiver. Could easily be unisex.

Safari by Ralph Lauren

Safari by Ralph Lauren

Key Notes of Safari

What does safari smell like.

A whiff of Safari by Ralph Lauren instantly transports you on a sensory journey. The initial burst is characterized by the sharp, pungent aroma of galbanum, blended perfectly with the crisp, soapy scent of aldehydes. The floral notes of hyacinth delicately intertwine with the zesty, citrusy hints of mandarin orange and orange, which are subtly sweetened by the fruity essence of blackcurrant. This vibrant opening soon gives way to an intense floral heart.

The warm, exotic fragrance of narcissus takes the lead, effortlessly complemented by the sweet, slightly spicy scent of orange blossom. The subtly sweet, intoxicating aroma of jasmine and lily of the valley add depth to the bouquet, while the earthy whiff of orris root and rosemary, along with the classic, romantic scent of rose, create a perfect balance.

As the fragrance settles, you are led into a rich, earthy base. The fresh, green scent of moss forms the foundation, augmented by the resinous, slightly sweet and woody charm of amber and cedar. The darker, musky notes of patchouli and sandalwood add complexity to the blend while a hint of vetiver introduces a refreshing, grassy element. Altogether, Safari by Ralph Lauren is a lush, layered fragrance that captures the essence of a vibrant, floral expedition.

Review of Safari

Safari by Ralph Lauren is a timeless women's fragrance that paints a bold landscape of contrasts. It is a blend that speaks to the adventurous spirit, with notable floral and spicy notes that awaken the senses. There's a grounding woody undertone that gives it a robust, earthy edge, while hints of green and chypre offer a natural freshness. A subtle oriental touch and a hint of animal add to the overall complexity, making it a captivating scent.

This perfume is most at home during the colder months of fall and winter, adding warmth and depth to the crisp air. It's perfect for those late-night outings, lending an air of elegance to your ensemble. However, it's not shy for daily wear or leisure activities, either, making it a versatile addition to your fragrance collection. Despite its robust nature, it's not overly assertive—its sillage is moderate and its longevity is impressive, making it a worthy investment for the discerning perfume enthusiast.

BOUGHT 2 BOTTLES lol the scent lasts about 20 minutes

Ralph Lauren

I love the way this smells on my husband. Glad I can still find.

I have worn Safari for quite awhile. I love it, and so do people around me. More than once, I've had someone say they walked behind me just so they could smell my fragrance. And countless have asked me the name of the fragrance I wear. Loren hit a home run with Safari.

It smells really nice I bought it because I collect fragrances and this is the best one out of 20 bottles

Still smells just as good at the end of the day as it did at the start. Not as strong but its the same smell. Not soured down like others will do.

It smells great and stays with you all day long. I’ve been wearing it for 25 years almost everyday. I have plenty other nice colognes but nothing comes close to Safari.

Oh my gosh I was so happy to find this page. I have been looking for Safari cologne for a few years. My husband’s favorite. Great price and it was delivered quickly. Packed very nicely too

Wonderful old scent. This came out when I was a teen and I loved it then as much as I do now. Just wish we could get Eau de Parfum.

Ralph Lauren RL67 Safari Chronometer

Back when it debuted in January, we brought you a few photos of the Ralph Lauren RL67 Safari Chronometer live from SIHH 2013. We knew immediately that this was one we were going to have to get our hands on back in the United States, and the pieces are finally arriving on our shores. We spent some time with this relatively budget-friendly chronometer from Ralph Lauren and overall are very impressed.

In case you need some reminding, Ralph Lauren Watches is part of the Richemont group, meaning the brand has access to some fantastic movements that typically elevate these far beyond your typical "fashion watch." Plus you get that distinctive Ralph Lauren aesthetic and good attention to detail when it comes to design.

ralph lauren safari review

The RL67 Safari Chronometer On The Wrist

And that brings us to the RL67 Safari Chronometer. This watch starts with a rather large 45mm (44.8mm to be precise) aged black stainless steel case similar to the one you may remember seeing with the RL67 Safari Watch last year ( you can read all about that special gunmetal case here ). Inside though is a time-only chronometer movement. It is important to note that this is not a Richemont movement, but rather a "Richemont-modified" automatic movement called the caliber RL300-1. This is the first chronometer certified movement in a Ralph Lauren watch, so while you're not getting something in-house from IWC, Piaget, or Jaeger-LeCoultre, you are getting a COSC certification.

ralph lauren safari review

A Closer Look At The RL67 Safari Chronometer's Dial

The dial is appropriately sporty for the large, inky black case. There is a deep circular graining that catches tons of light, lending hints of green and khaki to the anthracite base color. And while it shimmers a bit, I wouldn't call the dial shiny or reflective in any way, which keeps things from getting flashy. There is a minutes track printed around the edge of the dial and luminescent printed Arabic numerals as well, including the oversized 12 and 6. This looked a bit strange to me at first, but after a day or two I got used to this and even began to like the little touch.

ralph lauren safari review

Orange Seconds Hand And Luminous Arabic Numerals

The "Ralph Lauren Chronometer" signature is down by 6 o'clock and is relatively subtle, matching the color of the minutes track and numerals. The simple three-hand layout has luminous hours and minutes hands that recall those on vintage pilot's watches and a straight bright orange seconds hand.

Case Detailing And Nicely Shaped Lugs

ralph lauren safari review

Olive Canvas Strap With Gunmetal Buckle

The details on this watch are really nicely executed. For example, the screw detail is carried from the bezel through to the lugs and this watch also comes on the amazing olive canvas strap that the other RL67 watches have come on (and that we've praised before on HODINKEE). There is no getting around the 45mm size, but between the lug shape and the strap, the Safari Chronometer wears smaller than you might think.

ralph lauren safari review

The RL67 Safari Chronometer

And the best part is that the RL67 Safari Chronometer comes in at $3,250, placing it on the more affordable end of the spectrum when talking about watches in this class. You get the aesthetic benefits of a Ralph Lauren watch with a Richemont-modified, COSC-certified movement. For what this watch is aiming to be – a well-built, casual, stylish watch for a guy looking for a little horological seriousness – it does a stellar job.

You can find more details on the RL Safari Chronometer here .

Also, don't forget to look back at all our amazing coverage from SIHH 2013 . It makes for great weekend reading.

5 Things You Should Know about Ralph Lauren Safari:

Classic and timeless fragrance.

Ralph Lauren Safari is a classic scent that has persisted. Since 1990, this classic aroma has maintained its popularity, proving its longevity. For individuals who want a classic perfume, the fragrance exudes elegance. The carefully selected notes create a perfume that is flexible and long-lasting, appropriate for casual and formal settings. Classic Ralph Lauren Safari is a mainstay in fragrance collections of people who like timeless scents.

Inspired by Adventure and Safari Lifestyle

The thrill of adventure and exotic safari life inspire Ralph Lauren Safari. Exploration and natural beauty are captured in the aroma. Wearers enter an exciting and mysterious world with each spritz. Earthy and woody notes suggest safari terrain, while floral and citrus notes lend refinement. Ralph Lauren Safari is suitable for those who want a fragrance that embodies adventure and the outdoors due to its unique inspiration.

Unisex Appeal

Ralph Lauren Safari seems unisex. This fragrance defies perfumery gender stereotypes by being worn by men and women. It’s a versatile signature smell since its finely blended notes complement a variety of personal styles. Ralph Lauren Safari’s unisex scent allows people to express themselves without gender constraints.

Distinctive Blend of Notes

Ralph Lauren Safari’s charming fragrance comes from its skillfully selected notes. Citrusy top notes set the stage for floral center notes like jasmine and rose. Deep woods and earthy tones in the base notes give the smell depth and durability. These notes are carefully chosen and balanced to create a complex, well-rounded, and distinctive smell. Ralph Lauren Safari’s notes leave an unmistakable mark from the first spritz to the last dry-down.

Iconic Polo Ralph Lauren Brand

Ralph Lauren Safari represents Polo Ralph Lauren’s ageless elegance and grace. The scent reflects the brand’s quality and style. The Polo logo on the bottle represents Ralph Lauren’s standard of excellence. The scent embodies the brand’s beliefs and luxury. For Polo Ralph Lauren fans, Ralph Lauren Safari is more than a fragrance—it represents timeless style and refinement.

5 Tips to Use Ralph Lauren Safari:

Apply to pulse points.

Ralph Lauren Safari perfume should be applied to pulse points for maximum longevity and scent. Pulse points generate heat and increase fragrance because blood vessels are closer to the skin. Pulses are seen in the wrists, neck, ears, and inner elbows. Gentle spritzing or dabbing the perfume on certain spots lets it interact with your body heat to release its appealing notes. This process maximizes perfume efficacy and assures that each person’s smell evolves independently, creating a unique olfactory experience.

Layer with Matching Products

Layer Ralph Lauren Safari with complementary body products for a more intense and long-lasting aroma. Using the matching shower gel, body lotion, or deodorant intensifies the perfume and prolongs its life. Layering generates a harmonic and consistent aroma that is more obvious and unforgettable. Use goods from the same fragrance line to avoid clashing scents. This layering process adds depth and maintains aroma intensity throughout the day, leaving a lasting impression

Adjust Application Intensity

Using Ralph Lauren Safari effectively requires fragrance intensity. Scent intensity may vary by occasion and setting. Use the perfume sparingly on a few pulse spots for a gentle, intimate effect. However, apply more and cover more places for a bolder presence. Concentration matters—eau de parfum requires less than eau de toilette. Adjusting application intensity lets you match the smell to your preferences and the location, achieving the appropriate balance between enticing and overbearing.

Ideal for Daytime Wear

Ralph Lauren Safari is perfect for casual and sophisticated daytime wear. The fragrance’s green floral, citrus, and warm undertones complement daytime activities’ brightness and freshness. Safari’s light and refined style is refreshing and invigorating, whether you’re going to work, brunch, or the park. It’s versatile enough for professional and social settings, so you can look confident and stylish all day.

Consider Seasonal Suitability

Ralph Lauren Safari’s seasonality must be understood to be effective. The fragrance is suitable year-round, but its green and floral notes make it ideal for spring and summer. The perfume matches the flowering seasons with its freshness. However, its warm undertones make it fall-appropriate and comfy. You may apply the fragrance more abundantly in winter to ensure its presence. You may maximize Ralph Lauren Safari’s appealing fragrance profile year-round by considering seasonal fit.

5 Occasions to Use Ralph Lauren Safari:

Outdoor gatherings and events.

Ralph Lauren Safari is ideal for outdoor events since its energetic and fresh notes combine with nature. The scent’s citrusy top notes—lemon and bergamot—evoke a sunny day, making it excellent for picnics, barbecues, and other outdoor events. Lavender and thyme in the heart notes add sophistication without dominating. The aroma enriches outdoor events like garden parties and weekend brunches, leaving a subtle effect.

Casual Daytime Outings

For casual daytime outings, Ralph Lauren Safari is the right mix of relaxed elegance. The fragrance’s leather and sandalwood elements offer warmth and comfort, making it ideal for leisurely strolls, coffee dates, and shopping. The scent’s light floral and spice elements make it lively, making it suitable for any casual afternoon activity. Ralph Lauren Safari suits relaxed daytime trips, whether you’re visiting the city or relaxing on the weekend.

Professional Settings

Ralph Lauren Safari is perfect for professional environments that require a refined smell. The sophisticated vetiver, cedarwood, and tobacco scent conveys confidence and professionalism. Earthy and smoky undertones provide a subtle yet powerful aura, making it appropriate for boardroom meetings, corporate events, and other professional settings. The fragrance’s duration keeps you softly aromatic throughout the workday, projecting competence and flair. Ralph Lauren Safari is a discreet accent that enhances your professional look.

Summer Escapes

Ralph Lauren Safari is perfect for summer getaways since it embodies adventure and exploration. Citrusy and herbal overtones give it a fresh, summery feel. The aroma adds summertime vibes to beach trips, tropical vacations, and sunny days. For those looking for a smell that captures the warmth and brilliance of summer, its stimulating and uplifting properties make it a top choice.

Formal Celebrations

The Ralph Lauren Safari lends elegance to formal gatherings. The scent’s floral, spicy, and woody undertones create an elegant atmosphere perfect for black-tie gatherings, weddings, and other formal occasions. The scent’s gentle richness provides a lasting impression without being overbearing, making it ideal for evening activities. Bergamot, lemon, and lavender open the fragrance, while coriander, lily, and orange blossom give floral elegance. Sandalwood, vetiver, and musk give a cozy base. Eternity for Men is perfect for men who like a sophisticated scent that enhances Safari’s timeless appeal.
