Journey's End
Ratings and reviews, location and contact.
We went to Journey's End for breakfast on a Sunday. The dining room is quite large and we got a table near the windows with a view of the golf course. The restaurant is only open for lunch and dinner and the menus have a... lot of interesting selections. My wife and I had the crab cakes benedict and my sister had a nice omelet with spinach and cheese We also had bloody mary's. The food and service was very good and the atmosphere in the dining room is very pleasant. We will be going back the next time we are in Temecula. More
I love eating here, the menu is seasonal and absolutely delicious. The service is superb and the view ahhhmazing. I wasn't too hungry the morning I arrived so I opt to share an Island Loco Moco with my partner; steamed white rice, shitake mushroom gravy,... grilled all beef burger patty, fried eggs, sriracha, furikake and scallions. OOooweee that was delish! The coffee was strong and hot! Again, thank you to the amazing staff! More
We had breakfast here both days we stayed at the Pechanga Resort. It’s the golf club of the resort and has beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The service was outstanding and the food was great. Then have gluten free selections. The also service breakfast... all day which is great. You can take a shuttle to it from the casino. More
Hotel doesnt allow reservations and there was a 45 mins wait. There is nothing to do while waiting because the restaurant is not connected to the casino. Not enough seats to set while waiting and then to find out there was immediate seating in the... bar, however neither of the 4 hostesses offered that as a solution. The table was broken and kept swirling but they never fixed it. Hostesses we’re not welcoming. More
Had some out of town guests wanting to golf so we decided on Journey. Was my first time here. It is a beautiful course, long and challenging but fun. I would like to play here again sometime but I really need to up my game... but would definitely recommend to others. Keep in mind though it can be a little pricey for some. More
We visited 'Journey's End' Pechanga for Easter brunch and were pleasantly surprised and highly recommend it. Journey's End is set apart from the casino building -- kind of around the back and is where the golf club shop and locker rooms are. If you're trying... to decide whether to eat in the regular casino buffet or at Journey's End, keep in mind that you can smell cigarette smoke from the regular casino buffet. There's also a nice outdoor view from Journey's End and we were able to make a reservation. We found it to be quite classy and enjoyable. PROS: ~Free parking in the lot outside the restaurant as well as in the adjacent 'overflow' parking'. ~Nice spacious dining room, pleasant contemporary decor with expansive window view outside. ~Attentive friendly service, despite being a buffet. Staff are more than willing to clear your plates in a timely manner and get you a beverage. They checked on us several times to make sure we were doing OK. They also didn't rush the bill to us. ~Nice varied food at the Easter buffet including omelet station, carvery, seafood, breakfast items and fabulous desserts. Food was replenished frequently. ~Not rushed -- we didn't feel like they wanted to turn the table quickly and felt we could linger and chat without feeling pressure to leave. ~Priced at $39 plus an added set gratuity (2017) we felt it was adequately priced and better than many other buffets we've attended in the San Diego area. ~Clean and spacious restrooms available near the dining room or downstairs in the golf locker rooms. ~Afterwards there is something to do -- wander outside or go over to the casino to look around, gamble or go to the spa. Front Street (Old Town Temecula) is also a short drive away. CONS: ~Perhaps food could have been slightly warmer, but that is often the case at a buffet. We will visit Journey's End again for another occasion. If you found this review helpful, please click the THANK button. Happy travels. :) More
I've been to Journey's End a few times and the quality o the food is excellent. I love their Seafood Salad with is always fresh, the greens crisp and they service is wonderful also. It is part of the Journey Gold Course at Pechanga with... is spectacular. If you want a quick bite after the round or a full meal, Journey's End delivers with great quality and service. More
Journey’s End is a lovely spot for lunch, anytime ,and Sunday brunch. The restaurant overlooks the golf course at Pechanga resort and is nicely appointed. During Sunday brunch, the restaurant is almost always frequented by families, often with young children, which for some patrons can... be a downside. A large number of choices are available, including breakfast and lunch items. I have become partial to the seafood salad with good amounts of crab and shrimp. The salad is quite large and we often bring a portion home for another meal. Prices are reasonable. Generally the wait staff is attentive, but that was not true today. I believe our water was doubling as the bartender and had several tables, with large parties to service. He got one of our orders incorrect, but did apologize, but did not offer to correct it, failed to refill water glasses in a timely manner even when asked and never did take our order for coffee at the conclusion of the meal. To their credit, they did not charge us, purposely or by accident, for the coffee. More
Great place for breakfast or lunch with a beautiful view of the golf course and the surrounding mountains. Good food and drinks in a very comfortable setting. I don't golf but I love the scenery and watching the game live,
It is not easy getting to the Journey Golf Club. It is tucked in behind the Pechanga Hotel and Casino, and it is a bit tricky getting there, especially with new construction underway. But if you love a great breakfast in a comfortable setting, the... journey to this restaurant is worth the effort. Located within the beautiful golf course clubhouse Journey's End specializes in breakfast and lunch. There is an appealing patio adjacent to the course and both inside and out offer great views of the nearby mountains. The staff is diligent about providing a friendly greeting and creating a relaxed atmosphere. Additionally, the food is very good, the ham steak is thick and delicious. The menu is not extensive, but all items offered are reasonably priced and prepared beautifully. Add a freshly made Bloody Mary to an excellent meal and your day is off to a great start! The place is busy on Sundays, so plan accordingly. The Happy Hour starts at 3:00 p.m. everyday and we look forward to enjoying it very soon. More
Ate here during our stay at the RV Resort next door. The Breakfast menu looked great and all of our breakfasts were very tasty. Will definitely come back here again.
Father's Day Brunch was disappointing. We had heard very good things about Journey's End at the Pechanga Resort and Casino by searching through the reviews posted on Google. I reserved a table for 5 of us for Father's Day Brunch Buffet yesterday at 1:15 pm.... We were greeted at the hostess area and then seated. The seating area was about 1/2 full as this was towards the end of the service. To my surprise the 5 of us were seated at a table for 10 and in the very back of the restaurant . I was a bit taken aback, but figured it was going to be busy with other reservations and walk-ins. Our waiter did come by to take our drink order and I was surprised that our ice tea's arrived with very little ice and with a uncovered straw already in the drink. I will say the food was very good in general and there was a nice selection of different types of food to choose from. The desserts were beautiful also. One thing I found totally unacceptable was that our waiter was not attentive at all. We had plates stacking up on our table that should have been cleared more quickly. We also had to ask for refills on the ice tea more than once. I did see a manager/supervisor close by, but his back was turned to us as well. I had to get up and flag someone down to help. If it was busier and the wait staff was in the weeds I would have understood, but when they tack on a 20% service charge on your per person price of $39 and we don't even get basic service, it is totally unacceptable. We all drove from several hours away to enjoy a Father's Day Brunch together in a beautiful setting, but all of us left very disappointed. We will not return. More
Great place got a brunch or a quick lunch before or after a round of golf. The service and food were excellent. I had the French Dip and it was perfect. Lots of tv’s for those who love to watch sports while eating. The architecture... blend in with the surrounding country side and is beautiful. More
Seasonal Fresh Fruit served with banana nut bread. This was a great starter for brunch with fresh blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, honeydew, and cantaloupe. I love that there were slices of bananas in the banana bread which gave it a textural contrast and sweet tropical... flavor. Rating: 5/5 Shrimp Cocktail served with cocktail sauce. The shrimp was cooked perfectly - no tail meat stuck in the shell when the tail shell is removed. The cocktail sauce was bright with a slight sweetness and kick from the horseradish. The arugula salad was added a nice touch of bitterness and light acidity from the vinaigrette. I would have probably presented this a little differently, maybe more traditionally with the shrimp hanging from the glass of cocktail sauce. The plate used was too big for this dish. Rating: 4.5/5 Grilled Ribeye is served with roasted organic fingerling herb potatoes, grilled broccolini, and port wine demi. From wherever Pechanga sources its beef, it is amazing! This ribeye was well-marbled and grilled to a perfect rare. It was tender and juicy with just the right amount of charred flavor. The port wine demi was slightly sweet but paired well with the ribeye. The potatoes and broccoli were also cooked to perfection with a tender texture on the potatoes and crispness on the broccolini. Rating: 5/5 Chile Verde is made with pork and green sauce topped with queso fresco and served with pico, rice, beans and choice of flour or corn tortillas. My mom absolutely loved this version of chile verde! The pork was tender, and the green sauce had a tangy flavor that paired well with the pork. The rice and beans were good side items to stuff into the tortillas with the pork. Rating: 5/5 Tiramisu was the perfect ending to our brunch. I loved the giant chocolate curl on top. The tiramisu itself was perfectly made with whipped sweet mascarpone cheese, espresso-soaked ladyfingers, and cocoa powder dusted on top. Rating: 5/5 More
Awesome Happy Hour. Chris the bartender is an amazing mixologist and very personable. We had four ladies in our group so chose to share a couple things off the Happy Hour menu which is from 3-5 Mon-Fri. We decided on 2 orders of potstickers and... quesadilla with chicken. 2 girls had vodka soda, 1 had wine and the other a long island ice tea, no one was disappointed! The amount of food we ordered was perfect to share and very filling. The building is beautiful and the views are outstanding. I Highly recommend visiting here. More

A Journey to Suzdal
The museum features some peasant houses that are about 100 years old.
In the summer we decided to visit the ancient museum-city of Suzda l, one of the oldest cities in Russia and one that has preserved its unique character to this day.
The route chosen was as follows: Moscow to Pereslavl-Zalessky to Suzdal via Yuryev-Polsky .
As we entered Suzdal, a beautiful view of the city lay before us.
A little background information:
Suzdal was first mentioned in chronicles in the year 999. In the middle of 11th century Suzdal became a major commercial and manufacturing centre, as it was located on the Kamenka River, which at that time was a trade route. During the reign of Yury Dolgoruky , Suzdal became the capital of the Rostov-Suzdal principality.
Suzdal saw active building take place in the 16th-17th centuries. It was during this time that all the existing architectural ensembles were built, the best of which are the ancient Kremlin, and the Pokrovsky and Spaso-Evfimiyevsky monasteries. During the second half of the 19th century, Suzdal became an isolated provincial town. No industry developed in the city – in no small measure due to the fact that Suzdal was not located on a railway line. On the other hand, this was one of the reasons why the architectural appearance of the city has remained intact.
Today Sudzal is a 'museum town': there are over 200 architectural monuments from the 12th-19th centuries. Suzdal's streets are located on the banks of the Kamenka River, which zigzags through the city. The buildings in Suzdal are mostly one-storey (there are no high-rise buildings at all) and many of them are wooden or clad in wood specifically to maintain the town's unique style. The natural wood and white stone walls of the monasteries are the hallmarks of Suzdal. The city's main attractions include five monasteries, more than 15 churches, the Suzdal Kremlin architectural ensemble, the shopping arcades and the Museum of Wooden Architecture and Peasant Life.
Reaching the end of the Kremlyovskaya Ulitsa, you will run into another white-stone wall with battlements. This is the Suzdal kremlin – the oldest part of the city. According to archaeological excavations, it was at this spot at the end of the 9th century that the first settlement appeared, which later gave rise to Suzdal.
Up until the 12th century, the city was located on the territory of the present-day kremlin. The fortress was built at the turn of the 11th-12th centuries, when Vladimir Monomakh built the cathedral and buildings of the princely court here. A deep moat cut across the bend of the river, making the kremlin area of the town an island. The fortress was surrounded by a ring of earthen ramparts running a distance of up to 1,400 metres. They are well preserved, except for the uppermost portion, which was removed in the 18th century. Wooden walls with towers ran along the tops of the ramparts. The eastern side of the kremlin, which faced on to a plain and thus represented the most vulnerable point for an enemy attack, was reinforced with special care. The wide eastern moat has been well preserved. Its depth reaches 17 metres.
The cathedral has kept its golden gate from the 13th century, decorated using fire gilding, its magnificent iconostasis of the 17th century, the pride of the temple – the 'king-lantern', which weighs about 160 kg, ancient paintings and holy vessels.
According to dictates of Bishop Serapion, in 1635, to the south of the Cathedral of the Nativity, the cathedral bell tower was being built. Together with the powerful domes of the church, the bell tower played an important role in the composition of the city skyline. In those days it was the tallest building in Suzdal – a huge octagonal pillar, covered with a giant tented roof. There are large windows at the top of the pillar – 'bell stations', hung with bells, and at the end of the 17th century clocks were installed, striking not only every quarter hour and hour, but every minute. The row of bells was covered by a flat roof, out of which sprouts a huge tented roof. It is an ancient approach to wooden architecture.
At the end of the 17th century, a chapel was built connecting the bell tower with the Bishop's Chambers with easy crossings on the three large spans. At the same time, the north side of the bell tower was enclosed by a concourse, creating a cosy cathedral courtyard. Behind the kremlin curves the slowly flowing Kamenka River, with its smooth surface reflecting the surrounding beauty like a mirror.
After going over the bridge across the river, you reach the Suzdal Museum of Wooden Architecture and Peasant Life, which displays wooden architectural monuments from different eras. A stroll there is both pleasant and informative. The museum is designed in the form of a village with a street featuring houses, churches and other buildings.
To the south-west of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral is a very rare and valuable monument – the tent-roofed Uspenskaya Trapeznaya Church of the 16th century. It is an indigenous type of church in which the Russian masters completely moved away from the cross-domed Byzantine system.
