Coldplay announces new global Music of the Spheres World Tour dates

Following the sellout success of Coldplay’s summer 2024 European stadium shows and the announcement of eight new shows in the region in 2025 , Coldplay takes its Music Of The Spheres World Tour to unprecedented heights by adding performances in Abu Dhabi, Mumbai, Seoul and Hong Kong to the extensive two and a half year outing. These ten new performances are set to take place in January and April of next year, with complete tour dates and ticketing information available below. Support will be provided by Elyanna in Abu Dhabi and mystery guests are to be announced in Mumbai, Hong Kong and Seoul.

Since kicking off in March 2022, the Music Of The Spheres World Tour has sold over ten million tickets across Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, making it the most highly attended tour by a group of all time. The tour has also received rave reviews from fans and critics alike, picking up accolades including Favorite Touring Artist at the 2022 AMAs and Tour of The Year at the 2023 iHeartRadio Awards.

The dates announced will see the band continuing to make good on their efforts to reach every corner of the globe. Performances will include the band’s first full-length headline touring performance in India following their 2016 performance at Global Citizen Festival. Coldplay will also return to Hong Kong for the first time since 2009, Abu Dhabi for the first time since 2016, and Seoul since 2017.

Coldplay’s upcoming new album, Moon Music , lands on October 4th and notably will set new standards for sustainability, with each LP made from 100% recycled plastic bottles with nine per record. Configurations include EcoCD, EcoRecord LP and digital. The current single, “ We Pray ” with Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna and Tini, is the iTunes chart-topping follow-up to June’s double MTV VMAs-nominated single “ FeelsLikeImFallingInLove ,” which reached No. 1 on both the UK’s airplay chart and the Official Big Top 40.

• Abu Dhabi: The Coldplay.com presale will begin on Wednesday, September 25 at 12PM local time. The general onsale will take place Friday, September 27 at 12PM local time.
• Mumbai: The general onsale will take place Sunday, September 22 at 12PM local time.
• Hong Kong: The Coldplay.com presale will begin on Monday, October 7 at 10AM local time. The Klook experience package presale will begin Tuesday, October 8 at 10AM local time. The general onsale will take place Thursday, October 10 at 10AM local time.

Coldplay have also confirmed they will make a limited number of Infinity Tickets available for the shows at 12pm local time on Friday, November 22. Infinity Tickets are released for every Coldplay show to make the Music Of The Spheres World Tour accessible to fans for an affordable price. They will cost the local currency equivalent of €20 per ticket and must be bought in pairs. They are restricted to a maximum of two tickets per purchaser, and must be bought in pairs (which will be located next to each other). Locations will be revealed when fans pick up their tickets in person at the box office on the day of the show and can be throughout the venue from the floor to the upper levels, side view seats and everywhere in between.

The band recently issued an update on their sustainability initiatives, revealing that, on a show-by-show comparison, the current tour has so far produced 59% less CO2e emissions than their previous stadium tour in 2016/17, exceeding their original target of a 50% reduction. The eye-popping spectacle that includes a number of forward-thinking green initiatives kicked off in March 2022 in Costa Rica, and, according to the release, has sold more than 7.5 million tickets to date. Fans can register for first access to the presale for the new shows beginning on Tuesday (July 25) here now.

The presale will being at 9 a.m. local time in Athens, Bucharest, Budapest, Lyon, Rome and Helsinki and at 10 a.m. local time in Dusseldorf, Munich, Vienna and Dublin; the general on-sale will kick off at 10 a.m. local time for all the cities on July 28. The Music of the Spheres tour will pick up again with run of North American dates in September and October, followed by November shows in Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, Australia and Malaysia before moving on to Manila and Singapore in January 2024 and Bangkok in February.

Their worldwide stadium tour 2023 was, of course, an overwhelming success. In Europe alone, Coldplay thrilled audiences at 37 sold-out and acclaimed open-air concerts, plus dozens more performances in Asia and America. In 2024, the band around frontman Chris Martin will continue their "Music Of The Spheres World Tour" - Delivered by DHL - and will then also come to the Olympic Stadium three times on 15., 17. and 18. August.

The quartet, founded in London at the end of the nineties, is one of the most successful bands of the 21st century worldwide. In Germany alone, five of their albums have reached the top of the charts, and their best-known hits include "Speed of Sound", "Viva la Vida" and "Paradise". Coldplay have performed at the Olympic Park four times so far. In addition to a concert in the Olympic Hall in September 2008, the British pop rockers also played twice in the Olympic Stadium (September 2012 and June 2017), plus an unforgettable open air in front of 10,000 enthusiastic fans at Coubertin Square at their park premiere in July 2005.

For their "Music of the Spheres World Tour", which began in Costa Rica in March 2022, Coldplay have so far received overwhelming reviews. The Times of London wrote of the "Greatest Live Music Show Ever". And "The Sun" recognised "a truly mesmerising spectacle". Not surprisingly, the band secured the award for Favourite Touring Artist at the American Music Awards 2022.

In Munich, Coldplay is now setting a record with three concerts on 15, 17 and 18 August 2024. No international act has ever played more consecutive open-air concerts under a tent roof.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting Coldplay's return since their last visit in 2016. 'We are thrilled to bring Coldplay back to India,' said a promoter, adding, 'This tour is going to be an extraordinary experience for everyone.'

Coldplay's new album, 'Moon Music', is set to release on October 4, 2024, and aims to set new sustainability standards in the music industry, with each vinyl made from 100% recycled plastic. Chris Martin, the band's lead vocalist, reflected on the album's theme, stating, 'I think what 'Moon Music' is trying to say is maybe love is the best response' to the conflicts we face in the world today.

Coldplay Announce Dates In New Territories For ‘Music Of The Spheres’ Tour

Following the sell -out success of Coldplay’s summer 2024 European stadium shows and the announcement of eight new shows in the UK, Coldplay takes their Music Of The Spheres World Tour to unprecedented heights by adding performances in Abu Dhabi, Mumbai, Seoul and Hong Kong to the extensive two and a half year outing.

These ten new performances are set to take place in January and April of next year, with complete tour dates and ticketing information available below. Support will be provided by Elyanna in Abu Dhabi and mystery guests are to be announced in Mumbai, Hong Kong and Seoul.

Since kicking off in March 2022, the Music Of The Spheres World Tour has sold over 10 million tickets across Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, making it the most highly attended tour by a group of all time. The tour has also received rave reviews from fans and critics alike, picking up accolades including Favorite Touring Artist at the 2022 AMAs and Tour of The Year at the 2023 iHeartRadio Awards.

The dates announced will see the band continuing to make good on their efforts to reach every corner of the globe. Performances will include the band’s first full-length headline touring performance in India following their 2016 performance at Global Citizen Festival.

Coldplay will also return to Hong Kong for the first time since 2009, Abu Dhabi for the first time since 2016, and Seoul since 2017.

Coldplay’s upcoming new album, Moon Music , lands on October 4, 2024 and notably will set new standards for sustainability, with each LP made from 100% recycled plastic bottles (nine per record). Chris Martin posted a video offering some insight into the album and its accompanying Notebook Edition, saying: “I think what this album is about is a response to struggling with all the conflict within oneself, within myself, and also all the conflict outside, and working out what the best response is. Coldplay is Offering $20 Tickets to Upcoming ‘Music of the Spheres’ Shows, Seats Randomly Selected

Coldplay delights fans with tickets for their world tour available for just $20 — but the exact seats are randomly selected.

Coldplay has announced tickets available for their ongoing world tour for the equivalent of only $20. These Infinity Tickets will be released in a limited number for every show on the Music of the Spheres World Tour to give fans an opportunity to attend.

“They cost the equivalent of £20 / $20 / €20 per ticket and must be bought in pairs,” the notice on the band’s website reads. “Infinity Tickets are randomly allocated anywhere in the venue — from the back row to the floor to the best seat in the house.” Fans are encouraged to sign up to receive alerts ahead of the sales.

The news comes as the band hinted at two additional shows in 2025 to support the Music Venue Trust . Handwritten notes from the group confirmed two concerts at Craven Park and Wembley Stadium next summer. Additionally, 10% of the proceeds from those shows will go to the Music Venue Trust, which helps grassroots venues as well as emerging artists.

Fans were quick to praise the move on social media, especially as controversy abounds with Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing structure . With the much anticipated Oasis reunion shows, fans have balked at the steep pricing in the face of such high demand.

“Coldplay doing a limited run of £20 tickets for their upcoming UK shows just proves that bands have a choice to make their gigs more affordable,” wrote one fan on the former Twitter. “Wouldn’t normally mention things like this, but bravo to Coldplay chaps — supporting Music Venue Trust with a significant slice of ticket revenue. Will make a huge difference to our scene,” wrote another.

And in true Coldplay form, the upcoming shows will be entirely powered by solar, wind, and kinetic energy. Next year sees the band hit venues in Manila, Singapore, Bangkok, Athens, Bucharest, Lyon, Rome, Dusseldorf, Helsinki, Munich, Vienna, Dublin, Melbourne, Sydney, and Auckland.

Coldplay released Music Of The Spheres in 2021. The Chris Martin-fronted band is still bringing the album is seemingly every hemisphere on their subsequent Music Of The Spheres World Tour — reducing their carbon footprint and covering Backstreet Boys along the way.

According to Coldplay’s official website , the seven-time Grammy winners are next scheduled to perform four nights in Amsterdam from July 15 to 19 before coming stateside. Their North American leg will begin at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington on September 20 and conclude at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California on October 1.

When we first announced the Music Of The Spheres Tour in 2021, we pledged to reduce our direct carbon emissions (from show production, freight, band and crew travel) by at least 50%.

We’re happy to report that direct CO2e emissions from the first two years of this tour are 59% less than our previous stadium tour (2016-17), on a show-by-show comparison. These figures have been verified by the MIT Environmental Solutions Initiative.

We’d like to say a huge thankyou to our incredible touring family and to all the brilliant people who’ve made this possible.

Most of all, we’d like to thank everyone who’s come to a show and helped charge the show batteries on the power bikes and kinetic dance floors; everyone who’s arrived by foot, bike, ride share or public transport; everyone who’s come with refillable water bottles or returned their LED wristband for recycling; and everyone who’s bought a ticket, which means you’ve planted one of 7 million trees so far.

As a band, and as an industry, we’re a long way from where we need to be on this. But we’re grateful for everyone’s help so far, and we salute everyone who’s making efforts to push things in the right direction.

All our data and environmental impact assessments from both the A Head Full Of Dreams Tour (2016/2017) and the first two years of the Music Of The Spheres Tour have been independently collated and undertaken by our long term sustainability partners Hope Solutions.

The assessments and reports are shared with the team and leadership at the MIT Environmental Solutions Initiative for annual audit and verification. They have once again independently validated and quality-assured the data as well as the calculation methodologies, assumptions and rationale for the tour vs tour comparison.

From collecting unprecedented amounts of data to taking specific actions today based on rigorous analysis, Coldplay is modelling a trajectory toward a low carbon, biodiverse and equitable future. I, Prof. John E. Fernández of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, have reviewed their latest efforts and endorse and congratulate Coldplay in their dedication to positive and meaningful actions and Hope Solutions in their comprehensive and meticulous analysis and recommendations. This latest analysis of Coldplay’s impact on the environment from touring is again setting a new standard for the entire music industry. The data and the methods of analysis support the conclusion that substantial progress has been made to reduce emissions in touring."

What are our figures based on?

Our figures are based on actual emissions reductions and do not factor in any carbon offsetting or carbon credits.

As yet, there is no industry standard for sustainable touring or centrally-mandated methodology for emissions reporting in this sector. This is something that we will continue to promote and try to establish. We have made all efforts to align ourselves with the principles of recognised standards such as the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol and follow best practices and guidance.

We are also working closely with Hope Solutions, MIT, Live Nation and Warner Music Group to study the impacts of live music and create some carbon footprint baselines for different types of tours.

Hope Solutions and Green Nation

All of the tour’s sustainability efforts have been overseen by a Chartered Environmentalist and Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment at Hope Solutions with support from Live Nation’s Green Nation team.

Freight Impact Assessment

As the tour’s Official Logistics Partner, DHL have been instrumental in minimising emissions from freight and transportation and will continue to offer solutions to minimise logistics-related emissions: from packing efficiency, to advanced biofuels on sea and air, to electric vehicles on land.

DHL’s GoGreen team supported us with our freight impact assessment, taking all the data from our freight forwarder and plugging it into the EcoTransIT freight emissions calculation tools. The methodology and assessment is consistent with leading industry guidelines including EN16258 and the Global Logistics Emission Council’s (GLEC) framework.

We have not included fan travel to and from the venue in our direct emission figures.

However, the data gathered by our tour app, developed in partnership with SAP, suggests a higher proportion of fans travelling by public transport and a significant reduction in indirect emissions compared to previous tours.

· ⅓ of audience members use public transport · Average carbon footprint per traveller is 48% lower than the previous tour · 4% of fans travel via zero carbon transport – on foot or by bike
