Coventry University
Great location, lectures are very supportive and approachable in my course. Great facilities. Difficulty accessing prayer facilities as its located in top floor without access to elevators. More study spaces needed as they get booked out often.
Northumbria University, Newcastle
Firstly, personally for me Northumbria University has got both good international reputation and student support. It has the diverse student body and and a good reputation , attracting faculty. The university offers the comprehensive support services including counseling, career guidance, and academic assistance. Moreover, it also has modern facilities. The Northumbria University boasts the sate of the art facilities, that includes well equipped laboratories, library, and study spaces, enhancing the learning experience. Finally the most attractive about Northumbria University for me is that it has endorsed academic excellence and has got many industry connections. Northumbria University is known for its high quality teaching, research and strong academic programs. The university is collaborated with industry partners, providing students with valuable networking opportunities and real world experiences. In my opinion, Northumbria could be improved by strengthening more in career services and introducing more innovative teaching methods. University should develop stronger partnership with employers and industries to provide students with more internship and job opportunities. It should also explore more innovative teaching methods, including online learning tools to enhance engagement and learning outcomes for students.

University of West London
What makes my uni a great place to study is their student support. They try to help their students in any way possible to ensure that students get the best out of their education. I think it would be better if the university put more effort into societies and clubs such as sporting clubs and teams . It would help the university to have more of a community and really showcase other talents other than what students already study on their courses. My university do have societies and some sporting teams, however some of the societies don’t run anymore and it’s not made to be as big as it was when I first heard about it before I joined uni. I think it’s important to have that feel of community and university culture and to also show the inclusiveness of different cultures, groups and activities in which people associate them selves with.

University of Greenwich
The University of Greenwich has an amazing atmosphere that just feels great to be a part of. Everyone, from colleagues to teaching staff, is friendly and always ready to help. The way they teach is engaging and really gets your brain working. Plus, all the teachers have loads of experience and are super dedicated to helping students succeed. The student help center, library, labs, and classrooms are all top-notch, set up to give students the best possible learning environment. Everything is so well-equipped, providing maximum exposure and opportunities to learn. Honestly, I can't think of anything to improve because the university is always making things better for us students. It's just perfect!
Middlesex University
I am currently studying BA Dance at Middlesex University. The atmosphere at the University is welcoming, friendly and encouraging. There are lots of support mechanisms including the Learning Enhancement Team and MDX Works. The University has a strong sense for the environment and nature with many of the communal spaces being lit with natural lighting. The University also takes student feedback seriously with Student Voice leaders for every course.

University of Westminster, London
I feel like if you make it so, you get your money’s worth. The teaching for my course personally is incredible - I have professors that are incredibly smart but have never made me feel like I am below them, and they have gone above and beyond to give us support. Westminster also has a very wide range of amazing services that you’d otherwise have to pay for. Counselling, legal aid, gym, every LinkedIn learning course that you can possibly think of, career coaching, opportunities to connect with employers and more. Most notably, something I have not seen any other university offer, Westminster Working Cultures, in which students apply for international trips funded by the university to learn about overseas working cultures and network. My trip was to Singapore, and it was quite literally a career turning point. There are so many extra things that you have access to as a student. The campus look and feel and location are great. I love walking to campus, and I think Westminster facilities are beautiful and professional. Modern but classic, well equipped and secure. For negatives, I can only really say that sometimes communication with departments is hard and slow. I have only had this experience twice. First with the IT department when my laptop broke down and I needed a long term laptop loan urgently as I had deadlines approaching. While it’s a good thing that whenever you have a problem as a student, the university has means to help you, it was a very slow process in an urgent situation. Second, the visa department. As an international student I needed urgent documents so I could get my VISA that took an extremely long time to deliver. I would have to phone every day at my 2-3 am and it still took so long that I was a month late to the course because I got my documents right on the deadline.

Course modules
The modules listed below are for the academic year 2024/25 and represent the course modules at this time. Modules and module details (including, but not limited to, location and time) are subject to change over time.
Year 3 modules
Leading innovation, service excellence for creative industries, strategy in tourism and travel, tourism destination management, consultancy project, dissertation, brand management, conference management, event sponsorship and fundraising, global marketing and sales in the digital age, social marketing.
This final-year core module “Leading Innovation” aims to enable students to study and apply in practice:
a range of leadership theories and techniques to critically evaluate and develop their own personal leadership style a range of leadership theories and techniques to critically evaluate contemporary innovation practice, and organisations in a range of industries engaged with innovation practice a range of innovation theories and techniques to critically evaluate contemporary innovation processes, and organisations in a range of industries that innovate the synergies between leadership and innovation in a range of contexts
The Module will be based around two themes: (i) Theme 1: Leadership, where they will study, reflect on, and use leadership theories and techniques to assess and develop their own personal leadership style. By doing this, students will be closely engaging with and evaluating classic and contemporary theories, and directly applying the ideas from these theories to their own experience and ambitions. (ii) Theme 2: Innovation, where they will study, analyse, and evaluate the innovation processes of selected organisations and industries (by critiquing, for example, Case Studies), and how innovation is achieved and operates within the contemporary economy (by critiquing, for example, classic and contemporary examples). In addition, students will study the synergies between leadership and innovation, an emerging area in academic research and in practice. By doing this, students will be closely engaging with and evaluating innovation practice and performance, informed by the leadership theories and techniques covered in Theme 1.
Each theme will conclude with an assignment: Theme 1 will conclude with a team-based formative assignment, and Theme 2 will conclude with a pairs-based summative assignment. Once complete, this Module aims to enable students to understand a long-term timeline. Firstly, students will ‘look back’ and be exposed to classic and contemporary leadership texts, so they can critically evaluate and develop their own personal leadership style. Secondly, they will ‘look forward’ and critically evaluate how innovation can further emerge in the economy and society, and how contemporary and future organisations and industries can ensure sustainability through enhanced innovation, blended with enhanced organisational leadership.
‘Service Excellence for Creative Industries and Aviation’ investigates practices and strategies used in managing exceptional relationships between customers and service providers. Consistent delivery of high-quality service increases customer loyalty, businesses reputation and competitive advantage, hence the module focus lies in the exploration of all aspects of excellent service delivery.
The aim of the module is to provide students with understanding of the importance of service excellence, including reflection on their own professional conduct practices, and equip them with analytical ability to assess and improve service delivery.
This module critically analyses the theories and models that guide the development of business strategy for the travel sector with reference to current issues and case studies. Students will apply principles to practice through ‘live’ examples, for example strategies of start-up airlines entering scheduled routes.
The aim of the module is to apply theories and models of sustainable competitive advantage to the travel sector with particular reference to liberalization of travel markets, and continuing barriers to market entry. It also aims to examine the significance of organizational structure and people management for business strategy in the travel sector.
‘Tourism Destination Management’ guides students through principles of tourism destinations management, opening prospective career pathway into planning and developing tourism destination’s portfolio. Realistic understanding of obstacles facing destinations that seek to establish or improve destination product and image will be explored critically with reference to current issues and case studies from range of destination types: urban and rural, led by events, culture, business or niche tourism products. During the course of the module, students apply principles to practice through ‘live’ examples, advising a particular British destination on improving its competitive advantage.
As core module for Tourism and Events pathway, it aims to utilise links with Tourism Management Institute and develop graduates able to meet industry needs and pursue career in this, mostly public, sector of tourism industry.
The Professional Consultancy / Project is a capstone module in which students will be required to undertake a business project aimed at enhancing their employability as well as providing a platform for further professional development.
This module requires students to undertake and write up an individual project that gives them the opportunity to not only consolidate their learning on the programme, but also to clearly apply their learning in a real-world context. Furthermore, it will provide students with the opportunity to showcase their professional competences built throughout the programme.
If in employment students may choose to use a work-based consultancy project (subject to agreement from their employer). Alternatively, they may choose a project which is research-based.

Tracking Post-Tropical Cyclone Ernesto
By William B. Davis , Madison Dong , Judson Jones , John Keefe and Bea Malsky
Ernesto was a post-tropical cyclone in the North Atlantic Ocean Tuesday morning Atlantic time, the National Hurricane Center said in its latest advisory .
The post-tropical cyclone had sustained wind speeds of 70 miles per hour. Follow our coverage here .
What does the storm look like from above?
Satellite imagery can help determine the strength, size and cohesion of a storm. The stronger a storm becomes, the more likely an eye will form in the center. When the eye looks symmetrical, that often means the storm is not encountering anything to weaken it.
Ernesto is the fifth named storm to form in the Atlantic in 2024.
In late May, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicted that there would be 17 to 25 named storms this year, an above-normal amount .
This season follows an overly active year, with 20 named storms — including an early storm later given the official name of “Unnamed.” It was the eighth year in a row to surpass the average of 14 named storms. Only one hurricane, Idalia, made landfall in the United States.
Typically, the El Niño pattern that was in force last season would have suppressed hurricanes and reduced the number of storms in a season. But in 2023, the warm ocean temperatures in the Atlantic blunted El Niño’s usual effect of thwarting storms.
The warm ocean temperatures that fueled last year’s season returned even warmer at the start of this season, raising forecasters’ confidence that there would be more storms this year. The heightened sea surface temperatures could also strengthen storms more rapidly than usual.
To make matters worse, the El Niño pattern present last year is also diminishing, most likely creating a more suitable atmosphere for storms to form and intensify.
Hurricanes need a calm environment to form, and, in the Atlantic, a strong El Niño increases the amount of wind shear — a change in wind speed and/or direction with height — which disrupts a storm's ability to coalesce. Without El Niño this year, clouds are more likely to tower to the tall heights needed to sustain a powerful cyclone.

Tracking map Tracking data is from the National Hurricane Center. The map shows probabilities of at least 5 percent. The forecast is for up to five days, with that time span starting up to three hours before the reported time that the storm reaches its latest location. Wind speed probability data is not available north of 60.25 degrees north latitude.
Wind arrivals table Arrival times are generated from a New York Times analysis of National Hurricane Center data. Geographic locations use data from the U.S. Census Bureau and Natural Earth. Time zones are based on Google. The table shows predicted arrival times of sustained, damaging winds of 58 m.p.h. or more for select cities with a chance of such winds reaching them. If damaging winds reach a location, there is no more than a 10 percent chance that they will arrive before the “earliest reasonable” time and a 50 percent chance they will arrive before the “most likely” time.
Radar map Radar imagery is from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration via Iowa State University. These mosaics are generated by combining individual radar stations that comprise the NEXRAD network.
Storm surge map Storm surge data is from the National Hurricane Center. Forecasts only include the United States Gulf and Atlantic coasts, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The actual areas that could become flooded may differ from the areas shown on this map. This map accounts for tides, but not waves and not flooding caused by rainfall. The map also includes intertidal areas, which routinely flood during typical high tides.
Satellite map Imagery is from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Precipitation map Data for multi-day forecasts or observed rainfall totals are from the National Weather Service. The 1-day forecast is from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
