Sun Island & Sunquest ... Simply the BEST in Greece

Dear Sunquest Tours, My wife & I recently spent a glorious 5 weeks holiday in Greece, thanks to the wonderful schedule that you arranged for us. Our Travel Agent ( Debra Mavin from Travel Managers in Sydney ) made our booking through Sun Island Tours in Sydney, who in turn engaged yourselves to take care of our arrangements in Greece. From the moment we arrived, til the day we flew home, everything ran very smoothly, as per the schedule you delivered to us upon our arrival. All transfers were on schedule, the vehicles were of a high quality and the drivers, very friendly. The accomodation that you arranged / recommended for us was first class. We loved our Athens base - Athenian Callirhoe. Its location was perfect & Eleni & her staff there were outstanding, the rooms very comfortable and the Sky Lounge … amazing!! The 7 Day Grand Tour of Greece, with Go Tours was also a real highlight for us. The Coach, The Guide ( Antony ), the accomodation / meals and sites visited were all fantastic. We also loved the Island hopping sector … ( Paros, Naxos & Santorini ). The Paros Agnanti and Dana Villas were exceptional accomodation … high quality, great locations & great service. Porto Naxos was OK .. little away from beaches/ town .. The Galaxy is a better location As well, we highly recommend The Aphrodite Hotel in Molyvos, especially their beachside Taverna. We were last in Athens in 2012 & your Company capably took care of our travel arrangements then, hence our request to have you look after us again this trip and we are very glad we did. Thank You to all involved who took great care of us. Its so good to be given a schedule, that can be relied upon and have all arrangements taken care of ( ie. Ferry Tickets / Schedules, Island Agents, Transfers, Accomodation etc.). You are a great advertisement for tourism in Greece and we are / will remain strong advocates for you. We selected the 10 day Spain & Portugal Splendours tour as we were travelling to Madrid to stay with family and wanted to experience our first tour together. We found the tour independently from our agent and when we booked through our agent the price was the same which meant our agent could support us in emergencies which they had done before - great peace of mind even before we began. The tour began from Madrid and the first stop was Oviedo where we consolidated with another group who had stared earlier than us. As we progressed, we consolidated with more people joining and some leaving and new guide and bus / driver. Whilst some might find this disconcerting, we found it wonderful - new people as well as old and from varying countries and not just Aussies or Americans. Many were South Americans. Many spoke English, the others Spanish. Our guides spoke both and their English was good and they were careful to ensure the English speakers fully understood everything they said. The drivers and guides were most helpful with luggage where assistance was needed. We found the tour went at the right pace for us very few photo stops of a few minutes. Most stops were for a few hours and allowed us free time. The 2 two night stops really gave us an opportunity to explore with others we had made friends with. They offered optional tours in some towns which we did and which we found quite reasonably priced and again with English and Spanish speaking guides and found they really helped us appreciate the local aspects better. But even without these optional tours the experience was great and rewarding. Our tour guides supervised our check-in at each hotel (all of which we found most comfortable) and made sure we understood where the hotel was located in relation to the local city maps which they gave us at each stopover and explained how to best get around - walking, bus, metro or taxi as well as recommended places to eat - which we found excellent, timely and reasonable.. It was the little things that made the tour wonderful for us (in our early 70's) - some of which I have mentioned above, but there were many more! We are now planning our next trip with Sun Island Tours - probably Croatia

Sun Island's Egypt team, Akram, Fouad, and Anwar ensured our holiday in Egypt was unforgettable. From the moment we enquired about an Egyptian our holiday with Sun Island tours, until we left Egypt, they were helpful, responsive, and kind. When we disembarked from our Egypt Air flight at Cairo airport Akram was there to assist us. He purchased the necessary entry visas, collected our luggage, and eased our way through customs and immigration. Akram was courteous, informative, and anticipated what we needed. Similarly, on the day we left, Akram did not leave us until we were checked into our flight. He really eased our arrival, stay and departure from Egypt with his attentive and helpful service. Akram accompanied us to our hotel, and while we relaxed, he checked us into our rooms. The next morning, he joined us for coffee, solicitous about us and informative about Egyptian customs and culture. He stayed to introduce us to our guide Fouad, and our driver Anwar. Akram remained involved in our tour throughout our stay. While we did not see Akram again until the day we left Cairo, his guiding presence continued to be evident. Fouad and he were regularly in contact to refine our itinerary and to ensure our needs were met. Fouad was similarly concerned and interested in our welfare. As soon as we mentioned that Bob was feeling unwell, he obtained the appropriate medicine for him from the nearest pharmacy. This kindness and care was a feature of all our interactions with Fouad. Fouad was interested in our opinions and understanding of Egypt, and tailored his comments to our level of knowledge and our interests. Fouad was always attentive and informative. His knowledge about ancient Egypt was extensive, but he was equally comfortable discussing the full range of topics we raised. I did not at any time feel as though Fouad was out of his depth discussing any matter at all. Every day, we were collected from our hotel in a passenger van spotlessly cleaned by Anwar. Anwar was always on time, always polite, and always thoughtful of us. Anwar made sure we had access to water and food on our day tours. Anwar’s driving was always excellent. His calm and professional demeanour reassured us of our safety in traffic conditions we do not experience in Australia. We look forward to returning to Egypt soon for a more extended holiday. The suggestions provided by Akram and Fouad will form the basis for our detailed planning. We will recommend Egypt, and Sun Island Tours to our friends and acquaintances.

Thank you Sun Island Tours Just last week we returned from our 3 week holiday to Venice, Ljubliana (Slovenia) & Croatia. My husband has never really had the desire to travel to Europe and when I asked him if he wanted to go, he responded ‘not really, but you just tell me when & I will have my bag packed’. I was really worried what his thoughts were. Not only could I see that he was having a good time, he told me that it was a great family holiday. Having a background in the building industry, he was amazed with the buildings, the feature, textures and the construction of them. Still being a bit budget conscious, you recommended Hotel Malibran in Venice that was European 3 star. I wasn’t sure what that meant, but it was clean & comfortable. The breakfast was included and was enough to give us a great start to the day. We stayed approx. a 10 min walk from San Marco and I think it was a better location. Loved exploring the back alleys. Although we took up your recommendation of Ljubliana in Slovenia, this was the place I was concerned about. After now ticking this off my list I can only describe Ljubliana as a scene out a romantic move, stunning! Side note – I might have to revisit as we had a half pouring raining afternoon and I didn’t go on the funicular to the Castle. The half day tours to Lake Bled, Postojna cave & Predjama castle were perfect and just the right amount of time. City Hotel was close to the old town, great stay & yummy breakfast. From here we took the train to Zargreb (another experience that I would 100% recommend). Short stop in Zargreb before we went to Split via Plitvice Lakes. Plitvice is worth the visit. We booked a 7 night small boat cruise from Split to Dubrovnik. I loved every single port. The crew were great and the Cruise Director was kind enough to recommend some family friendly restaurants. A travel tip for your clients – they will do your washing on board and it is only approx. $30. A highlight for my daughter was the island of Vis and visiting the locations of were they filmed Mamma Mia 2. At the end of our trip we stayed 2 nights in Dubrovnik. Thank you for booking us into Hotel More! Spectacular in every way. Whilst there we enjoyed an afternoon at the cave bar watching the sunset for my daughter’s birthday. Probably the best day of my holiday. We can’t thank you enough for the fabulous family holiday that we have just had. Your staff looked after every detail and I’m looking forward to booking my next holiday with you.
