When delegates and interpreters need to be on the move,  simultaneous interpretation  can be provided using a small tour-guide system.  Also commonly referred to as an “Infoport” or “bidule”, the system consists only of a radio transmitter and headsets, making it light and easy to carry. It can also be used when there are too many delegates for whispered interpretation . Despite its inherent limitations (no soundproof booth, limited number of receivers and channels, no on-site technician) compared with an ISO-compliant interpreting booth and audio system, there is no denying that the tour-guide system can be a very effective solution for short meetings involving a small number of delegates and for on-the-move events. Thanks to this portable system, delegates are free to move from one location to another while listening to the speaker’s words in another language.

Calliope can

Explain the advantages and drawbacks of the system, advise whether a tour-guide system is suitable for your meeting and, if so,, arrange to hire the necessary equipment, including a microphone, transmitter and receivers, and, select the most suitable interpreters for your meeting, taking into account their university training, relevant experience, cpd and specialisations, examples from our portfolio.

The World Bank Group in Israel

The World Bank Group in Israel

Over the last few years, thanks to its reputation as a “start-up nation”, Israel has attracted numerous delegations from overseas specialising in fields ranging from cybersecurity to agriculture, and water to financial services. These very high-level meetings require meticulous preparation on the part of the interpreters, who accompany the delegations on their visits to businesses and research centres, providing them with simultaneous interpretation using tour-guide systems. In 2018, for example, the World Bank Group entrusted Gisèle Abazon with organising the interpretation for delegates from 23 African countries attending meetings across Israel on the promotion of best practices in cybersecurity.

SCOOP Voyages all over the world

SCOOP Voyages all over the world

For several years now, Calliope has been collaborating with SCOOP , a travel agency based in France and specialising in organising tailor-made business travel and seminars for companies. The visits, which can be highly technical, are generally conducted on the move, and the interpreters (usually working between French and the local language) therefore work with a tour-guide system. This enables the business leaders present to follow the explanations provided while inspecting the facilities at their own pace. To date, SCOOP has used Calliope’s services in Australia, Germany, Ireland, Israel, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal and Spain.

Intel World Ahead Program in Argentina

Intel World Ahead Program in Argentina

Senior Intel managers held a series of meetings with Ministry of Education officials across South America to consolidate and promote education projects as part of the company's World Ahead Program. Veronica Pérez-Guarnieri , Calliope's representative for Spanish-speaking South America, was recruited to accompany the delegation on a tour of Argentina’s main provinces. She recommended the use of a portable tour-guide system, as the group was too large for  whispered interpretation .

Simultaneous Interpretation and Translation Equipment 101

I have no idea how you got to this website.

Maybe a colleague referred you. Maybe you came from an online search. Or maybe you’re already a customer.

But I’ll bet someone has asked you to research buying language translation equipment for your office, church, school district, etc.

DWS INT 2 400 ALK Digital interpretation system. full system view

Two years ago, I was in your shoes. My boss in a previous job decided that we needed to buy translation equipment for some conferences that we were running, so she put me in charge of researching what to buy and who to buy it from.

I was nervous.

This was a big purchase and I wasn’t exactly an AV “genius” at the time. So I did what you’re probably doing right now. I fired up Google and started calling around. Everyone had their own systems they wanted to sell me, but it was hard to find out the pros and cons of each, and what was right for our needs.

I ended up wasting a lot of my own time, and the time of sales reps at other companies, who put together quotes for equipment that just wasn’t the right fit for our needs.

You see, translation/interpretation equipment isn’t “one-size-fits-all.”

It all boils down to getting the right gear for your audience, space, event, and budget.

If you’re not careful, you could end up paying for much more than you need, or buying a system that won’t work in your setting.

So that’s why I launched Translation Equipment HQ – to help my customers avoid the same mistakes I once made.

That’s why I put together this guide that has all the info I wish I’d had, all on a single page.

So whether you choose to buy from our company or not, I hope this resource saves you some time in your search and makes your life a bit easier.

If you ever have any questions, or want to develop a custom package (we also carry a lot of gear that’s not on the site yet), just drop me a line here or call Will or Craig at 877-817-0733.

Translation vs Interpretation:  Translation generally means converting from one language to another, be it in oral or written form. Interpretation is a very specific type of translation that only deals with the spoken word, that happens on the spot, at a conference, meeting, worship service, and so on.

Consecutive Interpretation : Imagine you are in a meeting with some Japanese business associates. You speak a few sentences in English, then you stop and your interpreter repeats those sentences in Japanese so that your colleagues can understand.

This is what’s known as consecutive interpretation . The advantage of consecutive is that it no special equipment is required.  The disadvantage is that it interrupts the natural flow and back and forth of the event.

Simultaneous Interpretation: Imagine you are in a conference and the speaker is talking in French. Using a special set of headphones, you and other audience members are able to listen to a feed of an interpreter who is listening to the French being spoken (this is known as the floor language) and interpreting it into English. This has the advantage of not interrupting the flow of speech, but it requires a specialized set of equipment and a highly skilled interpreter (or pair of interpreters).

Floor Language : This is the language that your presenter or main speaker is talking in. The language that is being translated into is called the “target language” or “translation feed.”  There can be more than one target language depending on the complexity of your setup.

How Simultaneous Interpretation Works

tour guide interpretation system

Floor feed is broadcast to interpreter

Step 1: The speaker of the floor language talks into a microphone (this is called the floor mic or the floor feed).

tour guide interpretation system

Interpreter speaks into microphone from a soundproof booth

Step 2: The floor feed is broadcast (usually wirelessly) to the interpreter, who listens through headphones in a separate location – this is usually in a soundproof booth at the back of the room, or sometimes in a separate room.

tour guide interpretation system

Audience listens to interpretation feed via headphones

Step 3 : The interpreter listens to the floor feed and simultaneously speaks into a microphone, which is broadcast wirelessly to the audience, who wear specialized headphones so they can hear the proceedings in their native language.

System Types and the Pros and Cons of Each

Infrared Systems

tour guide interpretation system

WIR SYS 7518 Mid-Range interpretation system from Williams Sound

Using the same technology as your TV remote control, infrared interpretation systems transmit the translation feed to the audience using invisible pulses of light.

Members of the audience listen to the audio feed in their native language using  specialized multi-channel receivers with  headphones.

Some key points about Infrared systems:

  • Infrared signals require a clear line of sight to the audience
  • Emitters must typically be installed above the audience level and cannot be covered with curtains, drapes, etc
  • For larger facilities, several infrared emitters can be used in sequence to increase the range
  • Infrared systems are immune to radio interference but sensitive to light interference (eg from very bright or flashing lights)

Medium Range Handheld Digital Systems

tour guide interpretation system

Ultra-Portable 4-Person Digi-Wave Interpretation System (Williams Sound)

FM interpretation systems use radio waves to send the translation feed to the audience.  Members of the audience use multi-channel receivers equipped with headphones so they can listen to the speaker in their native language.

Some key points about these systems:

  • The short and medium range systems are light and portable, so you can easily throw the right number of receivers into a suitcase to transport to your next event.
  • Transmitters and receivers are sleek and discreet, and won’t interfere with movement – perfect for tour guide or other on-the-go situations
  • The multi-channel configuration allows you to easily customize your system to support multiple languages at the same time
  • More advanced DigiWave systems from Williams Sound feature interference-cancelling and encryption technology, so that your audio comes through clearly (and privately)
  • Their smaller size means that short and medium-range FM systems will have a more limited range (around 250 feet)
  • FM signals penetrate walls, and other obstacles so do not require a clear line of sight
  • FM systems are immune to light interference so are perfect for both indoor and outdoor use

Longer Range Portable FM Systems

tour guide interpretation system

PPA 377 Four-Person System (1000 foot range) – Williams Sound

If you have a larger area to cover, then you’ll need more powerful FM translation equipment. These systems can broadcast the translation feed over distances exceeding 1000 feet. But the added power means that the machines are less portable. They are certainly portable, but just require a bit more in terms of set-up and take-down.

  • The more powerful FM systems are better at canceling out radio interference and offer very high sound quality
  • Longer-range FM systems are more component-based meaning they are more flexible and customizable
  • Like all FM systems, they are immune from light interference
  • Most cost-effective for larger groups
  • These systems tend to be portable (you can take them from venue to venue) but not mobile while you are using them (speakers and audience members cannot get too far from the transmitters, which are usually fixed)

Tour Guide Systems: Everything You Need to Know

Tour guide systems are devices that enable tour guides to communicate with their audience during tours or presentations. They consist of a transmitter that the tour guide uses to transmit their voice and receivers that the audience members use to listen to the tour guide.

Tour guide systems are important because they allow tour guides to communicate more effectively with their audience, even in noisy or crowded environments. They can also help audience members to hear the tour guide more clearly, even if they are standing far away or have hearing impairments.

The market for tour guide systems is diverse and constantly evolving. There are many different types of tour guide systems available, each with its own unique features and benefits. Some of the most popular types of tour guide systems include radio, infrared, and digital systems.

Components of Tour Guide Systems

A typical tour guide system consists of the following components.

Transmitter

The transmitter is the device that broadcasts the audio signal from the tour guide to the receivers. It can be a handheld device or a stationary device that is connected to a microphone .

The receiver is the device that picks up the audio signal transmitted by the transmitter and converts it into a sound that can be heard by the user. It can be a handheld device, a belt pack, or a built-in device.

The headset is the device worn by the user that delivers the audio signal from the receiver to the user’s ears. Headsets can come in various styles such as earbuds, over-ear headphones, or bone-conduction headphones.

The microphone is the device used by the tour guide to capture their voice and transmit it to the transmitter. It can be a lapel microphone, headset microphone, or handheld microphone.

Tour guide systems are typically battery-powered. Both the transmitter and receiver require batteries to operate. Rechargeable batteries are commonly used to minimize the need for replacement.

Charging stations

To recharge the batteries, a charging station is necessary. Charging stations can vary in size and capacity depending on the number of devices that need to be charged.

Storage case

A storage case is used to transport and store the tour guide system components when not in use. The case can protect the devices from damage and make it easy to keep track of them.

Why Are Tour Guides Systems Important

Tour guide systems are an invaluable tool for companies that need to give tours in noisy environments. By providing tour members with the capability to easily understand and follow a guided experience, it creates newfound freedom of exploration while offering more inclusive options such as language interpretation or accommodations for hearing-impaired individuals.

With this technology, companies can deliver immersive experiences through vibrant factory floors without having their messages lost amidst background noise.

The Process of Using Tour Guide Systems

Using a tour guide system is relatively straightforward. Here is the step-by-step process of how it works.

It is essential for tour guides to ensure that their equipment is up and running before the event. An audio test should be conducted with a partner present, allowing everyone on the subsequent tour to benefit from clear sound definition during commentary through headphones connected to microphone transmitters.

Properly preparing your system puts you in good stead ahead of its use – no one wants any unwelcome surprises along the way.

Second Step

As the event commences, ensure that all your guests are set up for success by asking if their headphones work through a simple hand raise. Attend those who might require an interpretation system before you carry on with the experience; it is essential for everyone’s comfort and enjoyment of this journey.

Make sure that your communication remains as sharp as possible throughout – speaking clearly into your microphone will go a long way in helping each guest gain maximum satisfaction.

Once you have concluded your event, be sure to collect all headphones and place the tech systems into their respective charging or storage cases. Give each piece a gentle wipe-down with an absorbent microfiber cloth; it will help keep dust and germs away while ensuring your devices are ready for the next event.

Don’t forget to plug them in – they’re no good without power.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between one-way and two-way tour guide systems ?

One-way tour guide systems are typically used to provide audio information to a group of visitors. This type of system works by broadcasting audio from the tour guide (typically through a microphone) to the receivers, which all visitors carry with them and listen on.

The advantage of this system is that it allows for more natural interaction between the tour guide and the visitors, as it allows the tour guide to move around freely while still providing informative audio.

Two-way tour guide systems, on the other hand, involve both transmitting and receiving information between tour guides and visitors. This type of system generally requires that all visitors have access to a microphone or headset in order to communicate back with the tour guide.

This type of system is useful when visitors need to ask questions, respond to prompts given by the tour guide, or provide feedback during the course of a tour. The advantage of this type of system is that it allows for more interactive tours, which can be beneficial in terms of visitor engagement and learning.

Can tour guide systems be used in noisy environments?

Yes, tour guide systems can be used in noisy environments. They use digital signal processing technology to filter out background noise and amplify voices so that even over the din of a crowded room or busy street, the audio is crystal clear.

How many people can a tour guide system support?

The actual number of people a tour guide system can support will depend on the type of system, the size, and the layout of the space, as well as any other special requirements.

How do I test the tour guide system before the tour?

The tour guide system should be tested to ensure that it is working properly. Check if microphones are connected, audio is functioning correctly, and other technical aspects of the system are working. You should also use the system to practice giving your tour and make sure that it is running smoothly from start to finish.

Additionally, you may want to ask a few people to try out the tour guide system while you observe how the setup works in order to gain confidence in its capabilities.

Finally, if possible, you may want to test the system with a mock tour to ensure that the audio and visual components are working properly.

This will give you a better idea of how the system will work for your actual tour and address any potential issues before it is too late.

Finding the right tour guide system: We are providing an overview

Are systems only suitable for tours and guides 4 applications for tour guide systems which you have not thought of yet.

Museum tours, factory tours, tour guides and sightseeing tours: those are typical applications for a tour guide system. However, tour guide systems are always useful if a person has to maintain voice contact with one or more people - at least one-way. In other words, tour guide systems are basically suitable for far more scenarios than just museums and sightseeing. We have got four applications with a list of various devices and requirements. They can be included in your planning or be used for advice on planning PA systems.

  • Communication between coach and athlete
  • Translation at international conferences and lectures
  • Support in case of hearing loss
  • Wireless audio streaming

The fundamental question is simply which device for which requirement? This is how we are testing tour guide systems

Tour guide systems are suitable for versatile use: 4 applications scenarios

Customers often call us and roughly know for which scenario they need a solution. During the conversation it becomes clear that the customer does not really need a fixed installation or a traditional portable PA system . Instead, they need a tour guide system. Many installers and expert planners are often surprised because they have always underestimated the performance of a good tour guide system .

Many newcomers are surprised that some tour guide systems are capable of bidirectional communication.

It is also possible to use our tour guide systems for wireless communication with each other, instead of hand-held radios . Please find listed below 4 different application scenarios.

1. Tour guide systems for communication between coach and athlete

Trainers for equestrian sports are more frequently using tour guide systems. Trainers and students stay in contact via small wireless systems. This does not only work in equestrian sports but in all kinds of sports where the trainer has to observe and instruct the student from a distance. Another example would be track cycling. A trainer could also instruct an entire team with the transmitter of a tour guide system.

Please note the following:

If you are using a tour guide system in sports, you should be able to attach it to your belt or clothes or store it in your clothes. For this purpose, a lanyard is not practical because athletes move around a lot. You should also make sure that the athlete is able to operate the tour guide system almost blindfolded. Thus, the system should have large switches or potentiometers, i.e. it should be easy to operate, even with gloves on. Also pay attention to the operating range of the tour guide system. What is the maximum distance between athlete and coach?

2. Tour guide systems for translation at international conferences and lectures

At multilingual conferences, a tour guide system can transmit live translations to respective listeners.

The procedure will be as follows: the primary language at the conference will be German. The German speaker transmits his or her presentation in the normal way to the PA speakers in the hall using a microphone at the speaker's desk . International guests will become receivers of a tour guide system, the interpreter a transmitter .

Thus, translations can be done live and in a flexible way. This is because an interpreter can send the translation to any number of recipients via a tour guide system. The user is not linked to permanently installed PA technology and can pass on the transmitter and receiver as required. You can of course also use stationary transmitters as an alternative. The tour guide system attenuates the noise level in the room using headphones.

Please note: think about how many transmitters you need to use in parallel. Four transmitters and, therefore, four translators are often possible in the frequency range 863 MHz-865 MHz which is licence-free. However, it would be the maximum amount. If several speakers are using one tour guide system to transmit their speech during a discussion, a hand-held microphone may be useful. The presenter can pass this on to the next speaker more easily than a clip-on microphone or headset.

3. Support in case of hearing loss

A tour guide system supports people who need a different volume level during the PA application. In case some listeners have loss of hearing, a tour guide system can also help here. This can be in church or at lectures or conferences. You can use regular speakers for the main sound transmission and give a tour guide system to people with a hearing loss. People who need assistance can use the tour guide system to choose their own volume level, independent of the other listeners in the room.

If you need to implement a wireless PA system because the building is listed or cables are not an option, a tour guide system can be a useful alternative.

Please note the following: in case of hearing loss, a tour guide system can assist you in two ways. Firstly, through a louder speech transmission. Secondly, you could connect a portable induction loop to the tour guide system. This can simply be inserted into the jack connection of the tour guide's pocket receiver. The signal of the induction loop is transmitted directly to the T-coil of the hearing aid.

4. Tour guide systems for wireless audio streaming

The additional line input of some of the transmitters of our tour guide systems provides an additional option for application: wireless audio streaming and speech transmission to the PA system. One example is a mixer which is connected to active speakers. If cables have been forgotten or cabling is not possible, you can also use a tour guide system. The transmitter of the tour guide system is connected to the sound source, the receivers to the active speakers .

For this purpose, you should preferably use an analogue tour guide system due to the better sound. For a mono transmission, e.g. background music, one transmitter-receiver path is sufficient. For a stereo transmission, two transmitters and two receivers are required.

The fundamental question is simply which device for which requirement?

Analogue or digital tour guide systems, advantages of digital tour guide systems.

  • Digital tour guide systems are tap-proof .
  • Half-duplex or full-duplex: recipient can answer the guide and ask questions.

Advantages of analogue tour guide systems

  • The sound quality is often better. This can particularly make a difference with audio streaming.

We are testing, documenting, sending the device back, are testing again - the same applies to a tour guide system

By no means do we want to cover certain adjoining sectors and reduce our technology accordingly. We simply cannot and will not do that. Experienced technicians test every tour guide system in detail, just like Frank Kuhl does in the PA section. For this purpose, we have our own workshop.

We take the whole series apart, test the operating range and sound quality. We are testing the devices in real application scenarios and not just under laboratory conditions.

If the device passes these tests, it will be included in our product range, otherwise it will not. In addition to various technical measurement checks, we are also testing the following:

  • Is the operating range as specified by the manufacturer?
  • How is the noise behaviour?
  • How is the sound impression?
  • Especially with integrated rechargeable batteries: how long does it take to charge?
  • Do accessories meet their requirements?
  • Is the running time of the battery sufficient?
  • Is the device robust or will it break immediately if it falls down?
  • Is the device easy to use or very complicated?
  • How robust is the antenna?
  • Is the device service-friendly, can it still be repaired? Or is it irreparable if there is a small defect?

If you have questions about tour guide systems, our technical project management will be happy to help you with the selection or planning.

Tour Guide System FAQs

A tour guide system is a wireless audio communication system used to communicate with an entire group simultaneously. It typically consists of a headset with a microphone and transmitter for the presenter (although handheld microphones can sometimes be used). Tour guests have headsets with receivers that allow them to hear the presenter loud and clear, even in noisy environments.

A tour guide speaks into a microphone to transmit their message wirelessly to a tour group. Guests wear earphones or headphones to hear the message. Some systems allow for interactive two-way communication with the touch of a button while others only allow the presenter to speak. Batteries are charged in a charging station and last for long periods of time.

Guided tours are conducted in a variety of settings, including manufacturing facilities, museums, historical sites, cruise ships, exhibit halls, demonstrations, college campuses, trade shows and much more. They can even be used for training, silent sessions and daily walkthroughs.

Yes. In particular, our ListenTALK system can be configured to accommodate language interpreters to listen to a presenter on one channel and communicate to international guests on another, helping encourage a diverse and inclusive tour experience.

A customized demo kit typically includes four pre-programmed transceivers with headset mics and accessories. Some tour planners, however, will rent a full system with multiple units as a test run before they decide to purchase.

Ultimate Guide to Tour Guide Systems: Everything You Need to Know

If you're planning a tour or a trip, having a reliable and efficient tour guide system can make all the difference. Tour guide systems are designed to provide clear and concise audio to groups of people, helping them navigate and understand their surroundings even in noisy environments.

There are several different types of  tour guide systems available , including wireless and wired options, as well as systems with a range of features and capabilities. Some systems are designed for use in specific settings, such as museums or theme parks, while others are more versatile and can be used in a range of environments.

Tour guide systems can be particularly helpful for individuals with hearing or vision impairments or tour members that require language interpretation.

When choosing a tour guide system, it's important to consider factors such as battery life, range, and ease of use. Additionally, you'll want to ensure that the system you choose is compatible with your specific needs and requirements.

Overall, a tour guide system can be an invaluable tool for enhancing your travel experience and gaining a deeper understanding of your surroundings. Whether you're exploring a new city, visiting a museum, or embarking on a guided tour, a tour guide system can help you get the most out of your trip.

What are the different types of tour guide systems?

There are several different types of tour guide systems available, including FM, infrared, and digital systems. FM systems use radio frequencies to transmit audio, while infrared systems use infrared light to transmit signals. Digital systems with transceivers (a receiver and transmitter in one unit) allow the recipient to respond to the guide and ask questions.

What are the advantages of using a tour guide system?

Using a tour guide system can provide numerous advantages, including improved communication, greater flexibility, and enhanced accessibility. Tour guide systems can also be helpful in noisy environments or when multiple tours are taking place in close proximity.

How long does a tour guide system battery last?

The battery life of a tour guide system depends on the type of system and how it is used. Typically, a system can last anywhere from 8 to 20 hours on a single charge.

Can tour guide systems be used for outdoor tours?

Yes, many tour guide systems are designed to be used in outdoor environments. However, it's important to choose a system with a sufficient range and to ensure that the system is durable enough to withstand outdoor conditions.

Are tour guide systems easy to use?

Most tour guide systems are designed to be easy to use, with simple controls and intuitive interfaces. However, it's important to provide training and support for users to ensure that they can use the system effectively and efficiently.

Long battery life

TT122 translation headset system has a built-in 1500mAh rechargeable battery, the transmitter can work continuously for 12 hours and the receiver can work continuously for 18 hours, you don't need to charge it often and don't have to worry about power failure in the middle of the event.

Transmitter mute function

When the mute button is pressed, the listener will not hear the interpreter's speech. The one-touch mute function helps the interpreter to temporarily stop the voice commentary when they need to go out during the translation, when they take a break, or when the interpreter does not want the listener to hear some of their own voice.

Aluminum alloy charging box

Easy charging

The 32-port charging case can charge 2 transmitters and 30 receivers at the same time, and only one power jack needs to be connected, saving time and avoiding the danger of tangling or electrocution caused by too many wires. The charging case can also be used as a storage case, it can put down 32 devices and all accessories, which is a good helper to carry on the go.

Volume Adjustment

Wireless receiver with adjustable volume from 1 to 10 levels, visitors can freely adjust according to their hearing condition and external environment. Even the hearing impaired can easily listen in a noisy environment.

Auxiliary audio input

The transmitter's microphone jack can be used as an aux jack, supporting the connection of a variety of external devices (such as church PA system sound board). Note: AUX and MIC are the same jack, and background music cannot be added while speaking.

Automatic pairing

TT122 church translation device with one-touch channel synchronization function allows you to quickly complete the preparation work before the presentation, without adjusting the receiver's channel one by one to make it synchronized with the transmitter.

OTTIMO PRODOTTO SEMPLICE DA USARE E BEN FUNZIONANATE PER TRADUZIONI IN TEMPO REALE O ALTRI USI SIMILI PER CONVEGNI O ALTRE INIZIATIVE

This set is worth every penny! Coming from a semi-professional sound background marrying someone in the interpreting field, we were looking for a quality set that didn’t break the bank. We have used 1 other brand that was maybe 25% less but when we got this set we got 200% more value. The sound quality is impressive and the ability to adjust frequency is awesome. overall extremely happy with the value of the set!

these radios are really great! We use them during our Eucharist because there are some members who do not understand English: I can pin the microphone to my jacket, speak extremely softly so as not to disturb anyone else in the room and still the person with the headphones can understand perfectly and very clearly everything I’m saying.

Crystal clear sound, good range. Good power consumption – we got just short of three 8-hour days of continuous use on one set of batteries. The translator was speaking into the provided headset in a soft whisper and the listeners heard everything perfectly.

these little guys surprised me. There are a lot of these devices on the market, but these work exceptionally well. Other devices may have fancier screens, but these just work. I LOVE the audio quality, but beware the included headphones are quite flimsy. The ear pieces have fallen off several pairs. But that’s a small price to pay for devices that have great quality sound transmission, having used these in the US and Europe as a tour guide out in busy city streets. The plastic build could be a little stronger, but again, no real complaints. My groups love them.

When I first ordered, I was worried that I would get poor quality for my money. Happy to say, the sound is pretty good and the quality not bad at all. I will be ordering different headsets though. The equipment is easy to put together and easy to use. Again, most important for me was good clear sound. It does the job.

The sound quality is very clear. The only thing that kinda bugs me is that the power button is a little sensitive and I sometimes find them to be on while in my briefcase. Even with that the batteries last much much longer than my last ones. I use these for court interpreting.
